heeseung was a follower, your personal shopping cart. when he takes you shopping, he is 100% prepared to follow your every order because for him, the day is all about you. he always insists on holding all the clothes you pick out to try on. “you grab and i carry” was is his life motto. when it comes down to trying on every outfit combination possible, he expects you to come out of the dressing room and give him a spin. you’d want him to give you his honest opinion, but he can’t find anything to critique. you simply looked good in everything, you had no flaws. this would end in you buying every item, and then regretting most of your purchases a week later.

ᰔᩚ jay

jay is the perfect shopping partner. he knows what items are the most flattering on your body shape, and he has a perfect understanding of your style. when he takes you shopping, he lets you take the lead until you find yourself needing his help. while you browse the store, he would point out items he thought would look good on you, suggesting you try them on with whatever items you had already picked up. when trying on clothes, he is the type to go back out and grab anything you need. you want the same top in a different color? he’s on it, no questions asked. sometimes you would come out to ask his opinion, and he would run off and bring back whatever he thought looked best with the outfit combination- which was always perfect.

ᰔᩚ jake

shopping with jake is chaotic. see, when jake goes shopping for himself he has a goal, and he’s quick, wasting no time. when he takes you shopping, he’s usually following you into your favorite stores, and he becomes very impatient. he walks into the first store all giddy, holding whatever you want him to, complimenting you on every outfit you try on. but by the 4th store, he’s dragging his feet and complaining about being hungry. you grab a top, and he’s saying it’s the same top as the last store. when you go to try on your outfits, he’s quick to say yes just to hurry up the process. then you give him one stern look, and he’s apologizing hugging you and telling you he’s not even that hungry.

ᰔᩚ sunghoon

shopping with sunghoon is peaceful, actually sometimes you forget he’s even there. he lets you take full control, and like heeseung, he is there for you and you only. the only difference is that he forces you to get at least 1 luxury item, that he pays for (tho he likes to pay for everything). he says you deserve to be spoiled, and so your day would end at prada or tiffany. it doesn’t matter how many times you say no, you will always come out with a new necklace or bag. if you don’t pick, he will pick for you and buy it on the spot. then when it comes to dressing rooms, everything is a yes and everything needs to be bought in 2 colors.

ᰔᩚ sunoo

sunoo taking you shopping usually ends up with him shopping for himself. he can’t help it, he always finds something that catches his eye and he just has to try it on. at least that’s what he says, but by the end of the trip he’s walking out with 5+ bags. still, at least one of those bags is filled with matching outfits and accessories. sunoo loves matching couple outfits, and while you’re trying on your items, he will usually slip one or two pieces over the door insisting you try them on. when you walk out to show him, there he is with the same item in the same color. he tries to surprise you every time, but at this point it has become a type of tradition between the two of you. you always tease him, lightly shoving him when you come out the dressing room- but you secretly love it.

ᰔᩚ jungwon

jungwon is a minimalistic shopper, which doesn’t pair well with your shopping sprees. he will often question if you really need a new top, because you have so many already (according to him). still, he will accompany you and even pay, because he loves when you come out the store excited to plan dates, where you can wear your new clothes. his favorite part is when you come out the dressing room, asking “would this look good for our picnic?” because he loves when you dress up for him. just knowing you would spend money to look your best for him makes him forget his ways. though he believes you always look your best.

ᰔᩚ ni-ki

similarly to jay, ni-ki is perfect to go shopping with because he does all the work. his definition of taking you shopping is him getting to style you for a day. he treated you like his personal mannequin. he would drag you to his favorite stores, parading you around and picking out what he thought would look good on you. he would have you carrying the clothes, even though he picked them. then he would go into the dressing room with you, styling you to his liking. he wouldn’t forget to compliment you, saying you were the prettiest girl in the whole store. and honestly, the outfits he has picked for you have been some of your favorites, making you feel confident.

THE FALL OF NINETEEN-NINETY SIX MARKED A PIVOTAL MOMENT IN YOUR LIFE. Ever since you came into the world, you never really could grasp the concept of love.

You wrapped your head around the myths and tales your mother would read to you every night. You thought that every princess would have her own shining knight in armor. So, after thirteen years of living, where was yours?

Your knight in shining armor, or knights in shining armor, existed within the pages of the comic books you read. You often wondered if they would magically pop out of your books and transport you into their world. Similarly, you wondered whether any of the characters from your adored TV shows would step out and bring you into their lives.

So, it wasn't a surprise when your jaw dropped to the ground as you saw the most beautiful man in your life (well, technically, boy). If the epitome of beauty was a fourteen-year-old boy, it would be Beomgyu.

But it wasn’t just his face that made your thirteen-year-old self swoon over him, it was also the way he acted. You loved the way he conversed, his smooth way of talking at a young age and the way he smiled at you every time he made jokes with his friends. You loved how his eyes lightened every time he’d pull a silly prank.

But the problem was, he never talked to you. You admired him from afar. You never actually had the guts to talk to him, as if. You were content with watching his funny actions from a distance.

There were some moments when you pushed aside your nervousness and talked to him. You remember having butterflies in your stomach the moment you first talked to him. There were times when you both were paired up as project partners for a biology assessment and at that moment, you swore you could’ve worshiped the floor that your biology teacher walked on due to her giving you an opportunity like this.

You knew this was an opportunity to make your move. And you did. You brought him small snacks with little notes on them. Gave him gifts regularly. Maybe even took lessons from your best friend on how to subtly flirt with him. You really thought you had him. Because whenever you used to play out these little acts, you saw the subtle smile on his face. You were so close. It’s like the universe laid it out for you. Gosh, how lucky you were!

Luck. The luck that you thought you had. If luck was a person, you would’ve tackled it to the ground already. Because the day you were about to confess to him was the day he announced his new girlfriend. 

His first girlfriend. You doubt you called it ‘love’ since the only thing she cared about was that he was popular and pretty. That’s it! All that girl could get from Beomgyu was his looks and his reputation. You could’ve scoffed at the sight.

Beomgyu was so much more than that. He was loyal, kind, and trustworthy. And she went for his looks. Even though she had him, you felt as if she was missing out on so much. You were partly sad due to them getting together and also due to Beomgyu getting used to his looks.

So, you were practically prancing when you heard the news of their breakup a month later. Did you care that Beomgyu was absolutely heartbroken? Well, yes, but you felt relieved that Beomgyu was finally unleashed from that mean troll's wrath.

And as he got older, he grew more handsome. And God did you love it. When you entered high school he was a completely different person. He had gotten more flirty and way more pretty. He was way out of your league. 

Out of the years you were in this crappy high school, you made absolutely no improvement in your and Beomgyu’s relationship. Beomgyu, who kept getting new flings every summer and tons of situationships seemed to discard your existence. One could only say ‘What the fuck?’

Your thoughts swirled, and you had a collection of emotions roaming around your head until your best friend jolted you back into reality with a gentle nudge on the shoulder.

“Are you even listening?” Seori’s voice cut through your thoughts, annoyed, since she had to explain what she was talking about in the first place.

“Sorry, what were you saying?” You blinked, focusing your attention on your best friend.

She sighs, “I was saying that I think Doyoung is going to ask me out.” Seori pouts “Why does he not get that I don’t like him that way, jeez.”

Her ramble about her current boy toy washed out in the background. You were once back in your thoughts until you saw him heading into the cafeteria. Beomgyu entered the cafeteria, his smile widening at something his best friend said. 

Lee Heeseung, Beomgyu’s best friend. His ride or die. As long as you can remember, they were attached to the hip. They were basically the package deal. If Beomgyu was the life of the party, Heeseung would hold up his hair while he threw up in the host’s toilet. While Beomgyu was the exact depiction of a social butterfly, Heeseung remained aloof, keeping people at arm’s length. You could only wonder how he dealt with Beomgyu’s outbursting personality.

“Earth to Yn!” Seori snapped her fingers in front of your face which once again, brought you back to reality.

“Sorry.” You sheepishly smiled looking at your best friend's annoyed face. Your friend followed the gaze you had fixed before looking over to her. And her eyes followed the trail of your alleged ‘man’–– Beomgyu.

“Him again.”A sigh erupted from Soeri, having enough of your rambling over your four-year-old crush.

“I’m sorry, alright!” You pouted, your back hunching over the disappointing development between you two which was nowhere to be found. “He’s just so cute, God!”

Your sigh was followed by your best friend. Not long after, your best friend’s fed-up expression converted into a rather eager one.

“I got it!” She exclaimed, her hand hitting your back while she practically screamed. You winced in pain as a few fellow students gave you judgemental stares.

“All you have to do is be close with his best friend, Lee Heeseung.” She slowly said, almost like a mastermind coming up with a villainous plan–well, you would consider your best friend to be some sort of evil criminal.

But this, this opened new angles in your head. It felt like the universe–or more like your best friend–laid it out for you again. Your once unsolvable puzzle showed a new direction, and the missing piece was all in front of you. 

Okay, maybe you felt bad that you were going to use Heeseung like that, even looking forward to it. But, you were really desperate. To the point where you would actually be eager to attend Sunday mass just to ask God for Beomgyu to like you back or even spare one glance at you. Well, what could you do? 

Out of excitement, you pulled Seori in for a hug with a squeal while giving her a kiss on the cheek which she in return, yelped. “Seori, you’re a genius!”

“Yes, I know.” She laughed a bit, escaping your tight grip on her before wiping the spot you kissed her hastily with her hands.

“I mean, how hard could it be?” 

You smiled and your gaze wet up to the boy you loved for most of your life, then slowly to the equally handsome boy.

Okay now, let me be honest the boy is a menace as I told you all before. So there are times when he decides to pick on you and bother you but not all the time. But when he doesn't feel like getting up to any mischief, he is rather cuddly. When he just wants to cuddle it truly makes your day because most of the time he picks and play fight with you. Him just cuddling close to you and hugging you is what makes you happy because it rarely happens.

Riki has a soft spot for you though he doesn't say it. He is considerate when it comes to you let's just say that. But he doesn't show it in his ways. Like the time he had brought you food because he knew you would want some. Or the times he would randomly text you saying he missed you. Riki believe it or not thinks of you. Whether it's missing you, the next time, he'll see you, if you're hungry, or just because he loves you. So the next time you don't think he's thinking of you best believe he is.

Riki can annoy you at times, but he considers that his job as your boyfriend. To annoy you endlessly, but also show you the most love he possibly can. So of course, when he just randomly starts calling you with the nonsense, he usually calls you with it, which bothers you. But when he calls you just to talk to you, it makes your day. Especially if you haven't heard from him in a while, because of how busy he is with his schedules and promotions. Just hearing his voice is enough to make your day, but seeing his contact name, pop up randomly on your phone is what brings a smile to your face.

with each step towards the dreaded door, the weight of your foot felt heavier as if the resistance could change your fate. i’m so screwed. you took a deep breath, bracing yourself for the hellfire you’re about to face, before following your manager into the room.

your eyes flickered throughout the room to familiarize yourself with each new face, locking at him. a hint of confusion filled his face before immediately returning to his usual smile.

“you’re here,” the director smiled, “great, let’s start now.”

worries buzzed through your mind, and his presence only confirmed it. perhaps it was foolish to assume an idol could have the same freedom as a regular girl.

“i’m sure you’re both wondering what this meeting is for. as you may know, sunghoon and wonyoung have been the mcs for music bank this past year,” the director paused waiting for confirmation, “well, music bank has decided to replace them with the two of you. so, you will work alongside one another for the indefinite future.”

disbelief flooded the two faces, mixing with differing emotions. a dream for you, yet a nightmare for jungwon. and at that moment, jungwon wished he really was fired instead.

“i believe the two of you will be professional and deliver an excellent performance. so, i’ll leave you two to get to know each other.”

SYNOPSIS. back in 2020, jungwon accidentally bumped into a girl, causing her mint chocolate chip ice cream to stain his crisp white shirt. with no time to change, jungwon had to go to his first inkigayo performance with a huge green circle on his shirt that his members constantly tease him for. now, two years later, jungwon bumps into you again, only this time, the mint chocolate chip ice cream stains your shirt.

as the gamer he is, heeseung spends a lot of his free time on his pc. as the boyfriend he is, he spends even more time involving you in said gaming as much as he can. that’s why when you agreed to play with him, he left you a cute message in your world made with your favorite colored blocks. as time went on, any time you joined his game, he would leave a sweet message outside your shared home.

jay ۶ৎ add your voice to songs

jay was obsessed with every thing about you, but he had to admit your voice had a different effect on him. there was one day where he replayed a voicemail you left him over and over again, smiling to himself in his studio. that’s when he had the idea to add the voicemail to a song he was working on. since then he finds his favorite voice messages and voicemails you’ve sent him, and adds them as intros or background vocals to his tracks.

jake ۶ৎ makes layla bring you things

we all know layla is well trained as it is, but jake decided to take her training a step forward. it all started the day he asked you to be his gf, he had trained layla to bring you a basket with flowers, chocolate, and a letter asking you to be his. since then he gets layla to bring you flowers, or he will give her your bags to bring down the stairs. once he even got layla to bring you coffee, and you still don’t understand how it didn’t spill. it’s the cutest thing ever.

as the photographer he is, sunghoon can’t help but capture the beauty in life. and everything about you was beautiful. he would often bring a small camera to your dates, waiting for the perfect opportunity to capture your essence. like the time you were on a picnic and he took a picture of you petting a dog that ran up to your spot. or the time you were watching a scary movie and he caught you mid scream, although you argue there was no beauty in that one.

when it comes to self care, sunoo is the master. he often gave you advice on what products to use, but you would find it difficult to find time for yourself. so, he decided to have skincare nights once a week, where you would do movie nights with face masks, or play games while doing clay masks. he would even apply all his products on you, because he wants to take care of you.

jungwon ۶ৎ pretending to propose while on walks

early into your relationship you figured out that jungwon loved going on walks in his free time- and you decided to accompany him. on one of these walks, you witnessed a proposal and made a joke about how bizarre it was to him. since then jungwon randomly gets on one knee when going on walks, and you laugh every single time. sometimes he would even add a speech, and you would pretend to say yes.

ni-ki ۶ৎ put on music and dance with you

as the dance prodigy he is, ni-ki’s life is not complete without some music. he will shower with music, sleep with music, and when you’re around he will dance with you. you’ll be baking cookies, and he will put some music and pull you away from the batter for a dance break. he’ll guide your body around, moving you to the beat. there’s times where he will play one of his songs, and teach you a small part of their choreography, praising you when you get it right.

Jake knew it.

He knew it the moment you lost that spark in your eyes whenever you looked at him. He knew it the moment you would awkwardly smile whenever he said something cheesy. But wasn’t it a bit too fast?

His thoughts flooded through his head, overthinking every possible cause and outcome, every single one of them making his eyes water.

He looked down at you, your figure being enveloped by him as you rested so fondly against him, so unaware of what was going through his head. His grip on you tightened as he kissed your forehead, trying not to let his tears escape onto the pillow where his head rested.

Fuck.

He couldn’t help it.

He couldn’t help it when he knew you weren’t in love with him anymore. He just didn’t understand why. And once again, for the nth time, his heart started to crack again.

Because he knew. He knew this wasn’t the first time you fell out of love with him. This familiar pattern of yours became poignant in your relationship. The first time felt like a nightmare. When you were both silently eating a pepperoni pizza, you let the words slip out of your mouth.

“I’m sorry.” Was all you could say before you left the kitchen and out of the shared apartment you and Jake had so many memories in.

It took a bit of begging and crying from each side to make you fall in love with him again. It didn’t take long, but Jake felt like dying each second.

The second time it hit felt like a slap to him. You accused him of cheating, while all he did was stay overtime at the company he worked at to earn a higher income to buy you your anniversary gift.

His throat felt dry, and a lump was stuck there. With screaming and fighting, he finally pulled out the necklace you craved for the longest time, which made you cry on the spot. Like the hopeless lover Jake was, he came running to you, pulling you into his embrace, and ushered sweet nothings into your ear while soothing your back.

But this time, it was different.

You were more silent. More disconnected. You stopped saying “I Love You” back. Dates happened once in an eternity. It felt one-sided. You didn't have a reason why. The number of times he salvaged this relationship was all gone in a second.

“I know,” he whispered.

You looked up at him, knowing you felt too nervous to sleep. His teary-eyed gaze met with your guilty one.

He knew you loved him.

But he also knew you weren’t in love with him.

“I’m so sorry,” you said.

He hugged you even tighter, breaking eye contact.

“Go to sleep, princess,” he hushed you.

Tears started pouring out of your eyes, and the same happened to him. That night, you both went to sleep with uncontrollable hushed sobs, knowing that you wouldn’t see him again in the morning.
