Small physical things that give your character personality.

How they smile:

He smiles easily, usually with a little laugh going along with it, as he finds amusement and fun in most things. He’s good humoured, charming and easy to get along with, but those smiles of his will either have a hint of teasing/playfulness or of sadistic intent. Right before your very eyes, you might glimpse his incisors becoming sharper during one of his grins, and his eyes starting to hold a dangerous glint. 

But for the most part, he smiles quite genuinely and is rather friendly, which is surprising for a demon. Smiles, grins, and smirks are most common for him, he hardly glares at anyone (so when that look is aimed your way, its probably Game Over), and doesn’t often frown in the presence of others, since he doesn’t like to seem worried, confused, or not in control of the whole situation.

What their ‘tell’ is for lying:

He doesn’t lie. He’ll bend and twist the truth, and omit key facts, but he won’t utter a full-on lie. He’s had so much practice and is so skilled with it, confident in himself at all times, that it’s near impossible to tell when he’s up to one of his little word games. But perhaps, if one looks closely enough, they’ll see the twisted joy in his eyes, his fun at the sport he’s playing.

Posture:

In whatever situation he’s in, whichever life of his (glamourous or shady) he might be dealing with, he is relaxed. He doesn’t slump or hunch his shoulders, he’s always proud and confident, but at ease, a man who knows himself and everything around him very well. He’s prepared for anything, ready to jump into or avert any trouble that might come his way.

Volume of speech, if they’re verbal:

Often, he does lower his voice, so that whoever he’s talking to feels the need to come a little closer but even if he speaks low and soft, you can hear him clearly anyway, it’s a gift of demon magic putting his voice beside your ear where it can soothe (or scare) and draw you in with its hypnotic quality. He speaks in at a normal level for the most part, never raising his voice unless he’s calling out to someone. He can be quite talkative, often distracting with words, or he speaks selectively, depending on the person and his own goal, as sometimes it only takes the right word or two to set something in motion.

Nervous tics or habits:

He doesn’t often get nervous, but when he does, he’ll find he has to look at the sky, seek out the sun or stars. He might tug at the wrists of his clothes or rub at his neck and hair. He might tap his finger to his lip or lightly bite the side of his finger. It’s not a nervous habit, but he does touch his tongue to his teeth and to his lip ring piercing too, typically sucking the side of his lip that has the piercing into his mouth while he thinks something through, so if he’s nervous, he might do that, giving himself a little more time to think.

How much eye contact do they make?

He loves initiating eye contact; he makes a point of it and loves when other people can’t handle it and they have to look away. But often he only keeps the contact going for a few moments at a time, needing to look away because there is something about his eyes that can mesmerize people if he’s not careful, and it makes them too distracted and enthralled to continue the conversation, which isn’t always a good thing.

In a group conversation, how close do they stand to others? Are they off to the side just listening and occasionally speaking or are they right next to people?

He typically would stand a subtle distance from others, not too close, but not obviously far either. He doesn’t like getting too close to others, but he’ll do so if it serves a purpose. Depending on the topic and people, he will listen and speak occasionally, or he’ll be more involved and talkative.

When standing, what do they do with their hands? Talk with their hands, cross their arms, put hands in pockets, prop up against the wall etc

He’s generally careful and deliberate with his gestures, using only a few when talking, so when standing, his hands are loose at his sides or might be idly playing with his cuffs or rings. He’ll lean against the wall and cross his arms sometimes, painting a relaxed picture.

The sound of their footsteps:

They’re not overly loud, and can even be silent if he chooses, they’re even and share his confidence, and making it known that he’s a man who never misses a beat (or step) and isn’t to be trifled with.

Non-verbal greetings: do they wave, nod, hug, glare, punch, high five, something else?

Smiles and nods are most typical from him, but small waves aren’t uncommon. There are a few people he might clap on the shoulder as he goes past.

How do they get others attention? Raise hand, clear throat etc.

Depending on the situation and his own intent, he might just clear his throat. Most likely, he’ll move more into their line of sight if he can, and physically get their attention with some sort of touch or movement.
