Purple martins. Did you know that there are people that call themselves “landlords” of purple Martin birds? This is because they migrate from Brazil yearly to the USA and the birds need houses due to their being less forest than in the past. I found this out when some purchased a small o add inting I made a few years ago. I painted the bird because it was pretty and then added sone landscape elements -distant mountains, an oak tree and a colorful sky in the painting. Nearly 4 years later a person finds it on Etsy and buys it because this is the scene outside their picture window - the blue ridge mountains, an oak tree and every year when the purple martins migrate to his area he feeds and houses them. Swipe to see the painting from 2019 that was purchased. The first painting is new that I completed today and I will put it up on Etsy to replace the old one. The third painting is what I painted first yesterday and I’m not sure about it, it needs more sky.
