😬 Metal Bat 🔥🔥
[ x ]
Dumbass delinquent with a heart of gold and probably chugs respect women juice on the daily ??? Those are basically what I love about most male characters !
I really do appreciate Badd’s presence as kind of being a role model esque character. Not in the way that he’s a shining beacon of hope, but that he actually does care about others before himself (see: Zenko). I wouldn’t be surprised if he took some part-time job working at a fast food joint with the HA to keep food on the table / pay for Zenko’s piano lessons.
On one hand, it’s rather sad to imagine a teenage boy having to take care of his sister by himself and the HA tells him to go put his life on the line with little to no compensation. On the other, I’m actually glad he toughed it out until he joined the Neo Heroes, mainly because someone needed to realize these people are genuinely evil.
Badd May not be a genius, but he’s painfully perceptive. So much so that he managed to surprise Garou (a guy who is regarded as a combatant genius) —
— SEVERAL times.
In summary: I think Badd is a great character. He’s definitely got flare in his fights that keeps the pages turning and I’m excited to see how he’ll handle the Neo Heroes >:)

Probably the only man with an anime theme on Twitter who I would actually trust

Tbh your reaction to short-haired Garou is the same as mine! 🙌🙌 GOTTA SCREAMING OUTLOUD FOR THE HANDSOMENESS OF HIS NEW LOOK AAAA-- 😫💘❤❤ I totally agree with you he's cuter with shorter hair like this! 💯👌 And all the YASS for TEAR THE BITCH APART™ reaction! 👏👏😤 I'm so done with Suiryu's antics towards Garou in this chapter gdi someone please whoop his ass again 😑
Thank you! 💙 and GOD yeah Suiryu really just rejuvenated why I disliked his character so much. His manga counterpart is much better, a little misguided but he has the spirit. Then ONE is like “Mmh- no, needs more misogyny.” His webcomic self is definitely like nails on a chalkboard.
It was honestly really funny Bc I might not have Garou be my FAVORITE character, but this chapter alone really did point out something to me that made me put on the top: he matured.
If this was the same ol’ “hero hunter” garou, he would have done just about the same thing as Suiryu was trying to do and beat the enemy until they’re incapacitated (or dead, if you’re a Neo hero). So, after losing his job, getting his cargo destroyed and losing his friend, what does this lone wolf do?
He walked away.
Even when Suiryu ruined everything, he really didn’t try to throw more hands. The damage was already done, he knew it was finished, and so he left. I really do like how he took a beating and still intimidated Suiryu.
Here’s to hoping that they get a rematch. Suiryu REALLY needs a lesson in humility (hopefully by his sister)😤
#ken.rspd#opm#one punch man#garou#suiryu#134 comes out and it’s Garou AND Suiko just curbstomping his ass#✉️

Characters: Lightning Max or Stinger 🤔😊
Give me two fictional characters and I’ll tell you which one I would date
I’m gonna be real and say: Lightning Max
I know Lightning Max looks really doofy and Stinger is hung as hell, but he’s actually working with Sneck to protect everyone during the MA arc, despite being extremely overpowered. Also I have a LOT of resentment for Stinger because he’s one of the most annoying characters in Road to Hero to fight against. He keeps killing Child Emperor on me and that’s UNACCEPTABLE. >:/
Lightning Max is also a lot more perceptive than Stinger is. Yeah, he basically ate concrete against Suiryu, but I’m pretty sure that if Garou was like “hey, please don’t attack the barn. There’s a kid in here,” he would be like “okay” instead of... ACTUALLY trying to attack the barn / Garou like a dipshit.
I’d maybe consider Stinger as a one night stand, but other than that? Nah- Lightning Max, he looks like he knows how to treat a girl based on how they look / what emotions they’re suppressing. Probably the type to offer kisses / get kisses for good luck on his Lightning stripe.

Reigen has the charm of the dorky dad next door. He wears suits that look expensive, but they’re actually from some low grade suit store that’s like a generic brand of Men’s Wearhouse. He’s also very, very, VERY charismatic—like, it’s almost illegal in how charismatic he is. He shouldn’t be an anime sexyman, but one of his special moves is charming everyone within his general radius to be allured by him alone.
Wanna know why the Mogami arc was so short? It was because Bones was sweating more time and effort over a Reigen-Centric arc, even when ONE was trying to make his life a living hell with the Mp100 Haunted Train OVA. I wouldn’t trust this twink with handling real life spirits without his emotional support son, but I would trust him with my life and my children. Best dad 10/10
Gojo is just PRETTY. Remember when Shimazaki showed up in mp100 and everyone was frothing at the mouth for him over him evading bullets? Gojo’s charm is literally that WITH Reigen’s dorky dad masquerade.
You give him the blindfold, he’s got as much charm as the dad who unironically wears khakis and Hawaiian shirts and crocs on a family vacation. The situation could be a life or death situation and this Bastard would be more worried about telling the punchline of his dick joke than his own well-being. He’s hilarious, but not hilarious in a way where Reigen can somehow punch the haunted spirit out of a person or manage to give a verbal beat down to a man who’s trying to defeat a team of hyper-powered adolescents. Goofball / 10
You take away the blindfold and Gojo’s a different man. He’s suddenly the rich dilf who wears his trench coat over his shoulders and has no problem charming the math highschool teacher to give Yuji a math tutor. He could literally bat his pretty white lashes and suddenly your arms and legs are twisted in different directions from the sheer volume of his himboness alone. PaleHowlPendragon/10
The difference between the two: Reigen is attractive for an average man, because that’s what he is. All he has in his arsenal is verbal warfare, charisma and a few moves from his self-defense techniques. He’s realistically attractive in the same way as Nanami is. You like Reigen more because he’s not defined by his unique characteristics, but his unique personality. If Gojo ever had the sliver of Reigen’s charisma, jujutsu kaisen would have progressed a lot more differently than it has in the manga.
Gojo, on the other hand, is otherworldly attractive. Once you see him, that’s all you see. Someone could draw a short-white-haired attractive man and people would immediately go “Oh, that’s Gojo!” It doesn’t matter if that was the artist’s intention or not, you immediately make that correlation versus Reigen who is already a hallmark well on his own.
In summary: you appreciate Reigen more because he’s not the average anime pretty man. He actually has a pretty plain appearance, but his personality and his influence of the scene / the characters around him mark him as Reigen.
Reigen and Gojo are both mentor characters the animators are clearly ultra horny for but I somehow respect the specific brand of horniness for Reigen more and I don’t know how to pinpoint why.
#ken.txt#rb.#ken.rspd#Gojo Satoru#Satoru Gojo#Reigen#Reigen Arataka#Arataka Reigen#I love both#but Reigen is the more lucky out of the two of them#pretty sure if he and Sukuna were to meet; it would have ended with Sukuna shaking and crying#‘you’re possessing a minor; aren’t you kind of a creep?’#‘do you know who you’re talking to mortal?’#’I’m talking to a weirdo with tribal tattoos.’

😬 king :)
[ x ]
Another big, intimidating guy with a heart of gold 💙
I really do love King, mainly because he really drives in a lot of that Reigen Charisma (even if it’s unintentional). I also love how he was saved by Saitama, but he... really wasn’t motivated to be a hero by him. That’s been a constant I’ve noticed with just about anyone who Saitama has saved. (See: Megane, The S-Class who witnessed his raw power, Garou even)
King is an exception to that because he... honestly got dragged into it. However, from what has been going on in the webcomic, there’s been a lot of changes to his character such as him exercising—“just lift dude”—and possibly being Garou’s friend / motivator to be a better person.
King’s one of the very seldom people in OPM who does apply some of the real world logic. He begs the question that if you’re bored of being the strongest, why don’t you do something new to build yourself up with it? Kinda like how you don’t just do the same exercise regime everyday, but diversify your workouts to improve !
I’m really intrigued as to what ONE will bring into the table for him, especially with the Neo heroes running amuck.

😬 Garou!
[ x ]
Without a doubt, I love how Garou’s character developed. Initially, I thought he was being a big baby over NOT getting over childhood bullies. It was like he was in a constant state of regression for no reason. However, as soon as he interacted with Tareo, I realized he acted that was because he is a kid at heart. It’s why he doesn’t kill anyone, but beats them down to a pulp.
He’s only acting with his heart in mind and, in the terms of Saitama, that makes him a sweet guy. I just wish we had more insight on how he was under Bang’s wing. Did he really beat down everyone in that dojo or was he provoked to? Were there some students that actually tried and he lowkey mentored / gave hints to? Did he go to high school? How did he parents treat him?
While we don’t have much in the way of his past, I do love how he stopped fighting Suiryu in the webcomic. He could go all damn day if he really wanted, but he didn’t. We call that character development !

😬 metal bat involvement in MA arc?
[ x ]
Some people might have a problem with MB’s involvement as it would be indicated as “fan-service-y”
I, for one, am glad that MB’s running into the fray because that’s exactly the type of shit I expect him to do. He doesnt exactly strike me as the type to just wallow in a hospital bed, not while he’s got that fighting spirit 😤🔥 on one hand: he would be the most difficult patient I would have to treat, on the other: MB needs some sort of motivation to defect from the HA after the arc.
Some, including myself, have theorized that the Neo Heroes provide child care—which is exactly what MB needs for Zenko. I haven’t seen his parents, so it’s safe to assume he’s the primary caretaker of this strong seven year old. Which makes the HA’s lack of consideration for child care (see: Child Emperor) all the more disturbing.
So am I down for seeing MB haul ass and potentially knock Psykos / Garou out with a clean bash to the skull? You bet !

Yeah you're right! He's already matured, both from outside (with that cooler look) and inside (calmer demeanor). Also he becomes humble now! Poor Garou.. Almost getting a raise on his job and received genuine praise from someone for what he did 😢 About Suiryu, back then I just "meh" on his character, but now I can't stand him anymore 😑💢 I like Suiko more despite she's only appeared for a few chapters. At least Suiko is kinder than his bro and has more badass technique. She's just lovely! 😍💕
This chapter really gave some massive contrast to who Garou was versus who he is now. Not only is he calmer, but he cleaned himself substantially and has a more composed atmosphere:
A feral wolf vs an... equally feral wolf with a haircut
My favorite thing is that, even when barraged by Suiryu’s unrelenting strikes: the worst Garou gets is a nosebleed (among other things). He’s gotten a LOT more durable since we last saw him and it only makes me more excited to see what’s in store.
As for Suiko, oh yes! She’s an absolute favorite of mine. Not because of her capabilities, but her character entirely seems to be a parallel to Suiryu’s lackadaiscal nature. I also like how she’s kind of parallel to Genos in a way, where she has the enhanced skills, but she gets frustrated way too easily if the fight makes her sweat a bit:
I’m really hoping Suiko manages to knock some sense into her older brother. She actually has a decent head on her shoulders!

EW.
Okay- okay- I’m gonna be real with you. Even when Amai’s backstory was revealed and was a little disheartening, I couldn’t bring myself to like him. I know that might be calloused of me, but his projection of his self-loathing onto other / uglier people reminded me a lot of Homelander from The Boys.
Amai wants to be loved and idolized. It was fine and dandy when he was a hideous beast just picking up trash, but it’s different when that concept of Justice began to fade in the distance of fortune and admiration letters. That’s why Blast’s charisma is regarded as idealistic, as Amai developed this idea that being a hero meant killing anything that is considered to be irredeemable.
Whether or not he changed out of that idea after his altercation with Saitama, I’m not sure. I don’t know whether he’ll be like Garou and quickly become my new fave (again, sorry Genos) or he’s going to continue to be a petulant little shit and learn not a damn thing (see: Suiryu). I can understand his plight wholeheartedly, but I cannot like his character for where it left off.
Unless Amai, somehow, manages to grow and overcome his beastliness and becomes better than who he was (be it that he saves someone from the Neo Heroes or apologizes to an ugly person he wronged), I can’t say I like where his character left off. Hopefully that’ll change, but until then, I’m gonna keep my eye for him in the panels

I was reading your Amai post and I have a question, when does Amai insult someone he finds ugly regarding their appearance? I can remember when he was rude about people's ability to be a hero but can't think of a time he's taken it out on a fan or anything, am I forgetting scenes?
I was referring to Furher Ugly. Primarily because of this scene in particular:
cant believe Amai hates pinhead Larry :(
While I do have my doubts that Amai would outright insult a civilian for being hideous, I must have miscommunicated. Like I said, Amai wants to be loved and appreciated, so he holds onto a parasocial relationship. As long as no one knows who he REALLY is, he’s fine and as happy as a clam.
I think a fan, someone who’s been a diehard fan of him, would be the last person he would berate

Um??? he called him a jerk which is an offensive word and Garou, who is anti-bullying, just went “is that so?” And the proceeded to handle bullying in a justified manner: with relentless violence
The Garou event in Valkyrie Chronicles is really... Something...
If anyone wants to know, this dumbass wandered into a different world through a strange magic portal and then, instead of at the very least gathering his bearings, he picked a fight with the first strangely dressed person he could find.

😬 the boi of the week (for some reason™ y'know why): Suiryu
[ x ]
This bitch took my rights and told me to make him a sandwich.
In all seriousness, Suiryu is like the most chaotic version of a himbo: he wants to do something, but doesn’t want to apply the effort to it. It’s why I compared his mentality to the likes of Shimazaki where he uses the same technique / fighting style but only cheats ups the ante when he knows he’s not handling a pushover.
I want to say that I like him, I REALLY do, but he’s extremely disrespectful and his excuse to destroying a cargo that Garou was trying to protect is “THIS GUY IS DANGEROUS!”
He sure is, asshole.
Still, no character is without their faults. If a character was a pristine embodiment of good, they wouldn’t exactly be a character as much as they would be a prop. It’s why I love Genos because, despite how much of a snarky asshole he is to people he deems below Saitama, he’s still a hero. If Genos was just a Boy Scout for the HA, I don’t think I would like him nearly as much.
With Suiryu, I’m hoping it’ll lead to the same outcome. He’s got a Rocky Mountain to climb and I really do hope someone gets him to realize that unnecessary destruction leads to worse outcomes.
