Happy Birthday Percy James Patrick, AKA Scottish actor, Sylvester McCoy who was born 20th August 1943, in Dunoon.
His father was killed in the Second World War a couple of months before he was born, and he was brought up by his mother, his grandmother and aunts.
He attended St. Mun’s, primary School in the town and as Percy Smith he trained as a priest, joining Blair’s College, a seminary in Aberdeen, for boys between the ages of twelve and sixteen he then gave it up and applied to become a Monk! This was rejected, as he was too young, so Percy returned to Dunoon and finished his education at Dunoon Grammar School.
On leaving school he took a holiday to the bright lights of London and ended up staying, taking a number of jobs, he sold insurance, acted as a bodyguard for the Rolling Stones, then gained a job selling tickets and keeping the books in a theatre box office. Eventually, he joined the Ken Campbell Roadshow. Along with Bob Hoskins, Jane Wood, and Dave Hill, McCoy started performing a range of sketches with the umbrella theme of “modern myths.”
McCoy found himself for a while in a double-act with Hoskins before Hoskins left to pursue his film career. When working with Ken Campbell in an improvised a circus-based act about a fictitious stuntman called Sylvester McCoy he thought it would be amusing if the program stated that this character was played by “Sylvester McCoy”. While at the Royal Court Theatre, one of the critics missed the joke and assumed that Sylvester McCoy was a real person. McCoy liked the irony of this and adopted the name of his stage identity
His big break came when McCoy was starring at the National Theatre in “The Pied Piper”, a musical play written especially for him, when he learned that the BBC was looking for a new lead actor to replace Colin Baker in “Doctor Who”. He later won the role as the seventh Doctor and the first Scottish one!
Following “Doctor Who,” McCoy continues to work extensively in theatre, films, radio, opera, and on television. He sees himself as an all round entertainer, his talents include, playing the xylophone and the spoons. He can also juggle and once gained a reputation for stuffing live ferrets down his trousers.
McCoy was considered for the role of Bilbo Baggins in The Lord of the Rings Trilogy and must have made a lasting impression on the filmmakers as they were later to cast him as Radagast the Brown in The Hobbit films.
Now in his 80's Sylvester has no less than seven projects on the go just now, he was last on our screens this year in Father Brown ,but has also appeared in 10 episodes on a podcast series calle Doctor Who: The Seventh Doctor Adventures.
I love Sylvesters quirky outfits, and absolutely love the first three pics, the first in his hometown Dunoon, then in front of a police box in Glasgow, the third is a wee Sylvester.

Physique: Average Build Height: 5’ 6" (1.68 m)
Percy James Patrick Kent-Smith (born 20 August 1943-), known professionally as Sylvester McCoy, is a Scottish actor. Gaining prominence as a physical comedian, he became best known for playing the seventh incarnation of the Doctor in the long-running science fiction television series Doctor Who from 1987 to 1989—the final Doctor of the original run—and briefly returning in a television film in 1996. He is also known for his work as Radagast in The Hobbit film series (2012–2014).
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Born in Dunoon, Scotland, McCoy was educated in Dublin and at Dunoon Grammar School. He seemed destined for the priesthood, but thankfully his seminary studies did nothing to stifle his comedic and acting talents. He found early success as a daring stuntman in "The Ken Campbell Roadshow" (which also gave him his stage name), and landed several memorable roles on BBC children's programs.

A very cute pocket daddy, I personally would waste no time in getting him in bed. Seriously, I think he’d look great on my cock. I know absolutely nothing of his personal life, other than he’s married with two sons. He’s become one of my favorite former Doctors. Although not to the same level of hotness as Colin Baker.
What? Have you seen Colin Baker?

Sylvester McCoy Memoir Film Announced
Film Stories is proud and delighted to announce its first ever movie project – and it’s a feature that’s a big part of the 80th birthday celebrations for the brilliant Sylvester McCoy.
Entitled Sylvester: Who’s The Real McCoy?, the film sees Sylvester telling his remarkable life story on screen.
He explores his youth growing up in Dunoon, his training to be a priest, and how he made the jump from working in the city of London to a life of performance.
Tumblr media
He explores his youth growing up in Dunoon, his training to be a priest, and how he made the jump from working in the city of London to a life of performance.
There are the adventures in the Ken Campbell Roadshow, his journeys around the world, and – of course – his life as the universe’s most famous Time Lord in Doctor Who, and his time in Middle Earth across The Hobbit movies.
Tumblr media
Sylvester also candidly tells the story of losing his father just before he was born, his mother’s mental health battles, and growing up with family members in the absence of his parents.
The film is centred around a specially-filmed new interview and conversation with Sylvester, as well as materials from his personal archive. There is a sporting chance that the playing of spoons may be involved too.
It’s the first time Sylvester has released any kind of memoir.
Sylvester: Who’s The Real McCoy? is a Film Stories and Whynow production. It is executive produced by Sylvester McCoy and Clare Eden, produced and directed by Simon Brew.
The film is currently in post-production, and release details will be announced soon.

Everything You Need To Know About The Owners
Maisie Williams is starring in the new movie The Owners, and fans are curious about her latest project. Williams is famous for her character of young warrior Arya Stark in The Game of Thrones series. And this time, she is exploring the genre of horror. The movie is based on a graphic novel by Hermann and Yves H. titled Une Nuit de Pleine Lune. And the adaptation of the film is made by a French director Julius Berg. Julius Berg is also famous for directing a popular French Netflix miniseries titled, La Foret. Maisie William is also a highlight of the movie. She has a huge fan base worldwide because of her brilliant naturalistic performance. In the series The Game of Thrones, she did not have any powers like her younger brother Bran. She did not even pursue the legacy as her brother and sister John and Sansa did. But her values made her character very lovable during the show.
Tumblr media
The trailer of the movie The Owner released recently in August 2020, but due to the pandemic COVID-19, the release date of the film is continuously delayed. We will try to cover all the information related to the film.
The trailer of the upcoming film The Owners seems fascinating. It initiated the invasion into a home that went miserably wrong. In the movie, a group of friends, including Maisie Williams, found an empty house loaded with money. They decided to rob the empty home to solve their problems. But the plan was only the beginning of all of the issues. The simple plan backfired and went out of control when the homeowners returned earlier than they expected. And the would-be thieves are thrown in the game of cat and mouse to save their lives.
RLJE Films released the trailer of The Owner. It is also Julius Berg’s directorial debut, and he collaborated with Geoff Cox and Mathieu Gompel on the screenplay. And along with Maisie Williams, the movie has some other impressive casts, including Ian Kenny, Andrew Ellis, Jake Curran, Rita Tushingham, Sylvester McCoy, and Stacha Hicks.
The film is similar to the movie. Don’t Breathe, which was directed by Fede Alvarez. In that movie, a group of friends break into the house of a blind army veteran, who seemed harmless initially, but turned out deadly in the end.
In The Owners, Rita Tushingam and Sylvester McCoy played the character of the elderly couple who own the house. Initially, they seemed innocent, but as the story unfolds, they turned out weirdly well-prepared for the home invasions. The audience got a perfect hint from the trailer that the old couple might not have hurt the invaders yet, but their personality and body language speak that they can hurt them to the extreme levels.
The Cast
As one of the intruders, Mary, played by Maisie Williams, was cast for the film in February 2019. Maisie, who is named initially as Margaret Constance Williams, is an English actress. She debuted in the series The Game of Thrones at the age of fourteen. She was nominated for the Primetime Emmy Award for Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Drama Series. Williams also starred in the feature film named The Falling, for which she received award recognition and critical acclaim.
In the role of Dr. Huggins, Sylvester McCoy is a Scottish actor. He is famous for playing the seventh incarnation of the Doctor in the sci-fi television series named Doctor Who. Sylvester McCoy is the adopted stage name. His original name was Percy James Patrick Kent-Smith. He started his acting career with an experimental theatre troupe, “The Ken Campbell Roadshow.” He played a character of a stuntman named Sylveste McCoy in a play titled, An Evening with Sylveste Mccoy. In the show, he played many stunts like balancing a fork upon his nose or setting his head on fire. After the show, he got famous after the stage name, and Ken-Smith decided to keep the name. Later he added the alphabet ‘r’ at the end of the name as actors’ superstition that the thirteen letter stage name was unlucky.
The supporting cast is the wife, Ellen Huggins, played by Rita Tushingham. Rita Tushingham is an English actress. She is known for her roles in the films, including The Leather Boys, A Taste of Honey, Doctor Zhivago, The Knack…and How to Get It, and Smashing time. Tushingham won the Cannes Film Festival Award for Best Actress for the movie A Taste of Honey and Most Promising Newcomer at both Golden Globe Awards and BAFTA Awards. Rita made her debut in the film A Taste of Honey in 1961. She was the actress who did an on-screen kiss with another actress. Back then, in 1961, it was a matter of enormous controversy. People were not ready to accept the concept of homosexuals. The film was banned in several countries for the brave content.
Other than that, Tushingham featured in movies like The Bed Sitting Room in 1969, The ‘Human’ Factor in 1975, and Green Eyes in 1977.
The Plot
The Owners revolves around the plot of a house invasion. What is most interesting about the movie is how the older victims turned over and dominated the young intruders. The character of Nathan needed the money to support a child. In contrast, the role of Mary, played by Williams, is naive, who is pushed to the limits. The trait also will help the character to grow big and will have a high transformation arc.
Release Date of The Owners
The Owners is scheduled to be released on the 4th of September 2020 by RLJE Films. The film is assumed to be digitally distributed. The audience can watch the movie on On-Demand and Digital HD medium. However, it has a tough competition with some other incredible films like Feels Good Man, a documentary about the artist Matt Furie, who was the creator of the cartoon Pepe the Frog and Still Here, which is a crime thriller starring Zazie Beetz.

Full House For Downton Star's Romp Through Illustrious Career Local actor Jim Carter, best known for playing Carson the butler in Downton Abbey, broke all records at West Hampstead Library on Wednesday night by drawing the biggest crowd for a Friends of West Hampstead Library event since Stephen Fry in 2001. The “house full” notice went up at 7.30pm, just as the event started. The evening, hosted by FoWHL Chair Simon Inglis, began with Jim playing a guessing game with the audience based on key elements of his acting career. With typical generosity he handed a bottle of champagne to the winner. With Simon as a foil, the two of them made a fine comedy turn as Jim embarked on a riot of anecdotes, starting with his story of how he abandoned a university degree in English for a career in street theatre in Brighton. One early performance for kids, he recalled, was interrupted by an invasion of Mods and Rockers. Punch and Judy ended up in the sea while Jim, dressed head-to-toe as a thistle, ended up being chased along the beach by a psychopath in a leather jacket. An unusual seaside memory. He then took us on a tour of America. His first visit was to enrol with a circus school. He then returned with the legendary Ken Campbell and his surreal roadshow. All he needed at that time, he said, was a rucksack and a pub. Then it was back for the National Theatre’s triumphant run of Guys and Dolls and a meeting with fellow actor, Imelda Staunton. They married a year or so later. Clearly Jim is a proud resident of West Hampstead, with a long record of community and charitable work. He spoke with particular pride of his six years as president of Hampstead Cricket Club in Lymington Road – especially the setting up of a women’s team – also of the fundraising evenings he is putting on at, and for, the Tricycle Theatre. (Note, Jim’s event with Maggie Smith and Judi Dench is sold out, but there are still tickets available for Danny Boyle on March 26. Finally, as no doubt many in the packed audience were hoping for (one fan had reportedly come over from Germany especially for the evening), the conversation arrived at Downton Abbey. Jim entertained us all with stories of life upstairs and downstairs (for the actors as much as the characters), and a recollection of George Clooney’s visit to the set. Apparently after he kissed Maggie Smith’s outstretched hand she affected a theatrical swoon and fell off her settee. Asked if a Downton movie is on the cards, he revealed that the actors were all in favour – they had all enjoyed working together – but that the script would have to be good. The evening was an hour of theatre, full of nostalgic generosity and Falstaffian humour. It’s a long way from his roots in Harrogate to West Hampstead, but Jim Carter took us with him every step of the way. And to cap it all, Simon was able to announce at the conclusion that Jim had kindly consented to follow in Stephen Fry’s footsteps by becoming a patron of the Friends group. The author is FoWHL writer in residence. http://westhampsteadlife.com/2017/02/17/full-house-for-downton-stars-romp-through-an-illustrious-career/19199

Like many other former Time Lords, Sylvester has televised the role, in 2022 we aw him return in The Power of the Doctor, I assume there is a chance he will crop up in the 60th anniversary specials, although I can't see him being mentioned as yet.
Sylvester is still keeping busy, he is lined up to appear in the BBC drama Father Brown, it will air next year. This year he appeared in the horror film, Necronomicon, it only has two reviews on IMDB, both slating it. The website also notes that he has four more projects in various stages of production.

He attended St. Mun's, a local Dunoon school. The headmistress was keen that her young charges obtain decent jobs upon leaving the school and so organized regular talks from people in all manner of professions. McCoy expressed an interest in every job, and as a result eventually found himself given an afternoon off school to go to see a local priest about entering the priesthood. He joined Blair's College, a seminary in Aberdeen, and between the ages of twelve and sixteen trained to be a priest.
It was while at Blair's College that he realized that there was more to life than could be found in Dunoon. He discovered classical music and history, which fascinated him. He eventually decided to become a monk and applied to join a Dominican order, but his application was rejected as he was too young. He went instead to Dunoon grammar school, where he discovered the delights of his female fellow pupils and quickly decided that he didn't want to be a priest or a monk after all.
On finishing his education he took a holiday down to London, from which he never returned. McCoy approached a youth employment center looking for a job and impressed by the fact that he had attended a grammar school, they instantly found him a job in the City working for an insurance company. He trained in this job and stayed there until he was twenty-four before deciding that it wasn't really for him.
With the help of a cook at London's Roundhouse Theatre, McCoy gained a job there selling tickets and keeping the books in the box office. Eventually, he joined the Ken Campbell Roadshow. Along with Bob Hoskins, Jane Wood, and Dave Hill, McCoy started performing a range of sketches with the umbrella theme of "modern myths." McCoy found himself for a while in a double-act with Hoskins before Hoskins left to pursue his film career.
During a break from one of their UK engagements, the Roadshow team were discovered busking on the street by Joan Littlewood, who invited them to go onstage as a curtain up before her production of "The Hostage." Littlewood invited McCoy to join her world-renowned "Theatre Workshop." Numerous engagements followed.
