Update (10/25/24)
What I'm Into Now
MCU (Wanda Maximoff, Agatha Harkness)
X-Men (Logan)
Voltron (Lance, Keith)
Progress Update (Knitting)
Finished one gift out of three and started on the second
Frogged a shawl that I stopped working on and unfortunately had to scrap a lot of the yarn because it got too tangled :(
Started a little scrap project to keep me from going crazy
Fic Recs
There we go! Midterms are absolutely beating me with a stick and I am exhausted. However, I am going home this weekend to see a concert with my partner, and we're both pretty excited.
I did have a little debate with myself over whether or not I wanted to put in a public forum that the Voltron bug has wormed its way into my brain yet again, but then I remembered that this is Tumblr and the only two people on here who know I run this blog are not gonna care.
Fun fact: Voltron was originally got me into fanfic years ago. I was in the fandom when the show was still coming out , and it still holds a really special place in my heart because it got me through a really tough time in my life.
Enough yapping! Agatha All Along thoughts under the cut. I do have to say, I think this week's episodes is one of my favorites so far :)
HOLY SHIT HOLY SHIT HOLY SHIT
Bro, the way I had to watch that shit twice in a row it was so good.
THE LADY DEATH RIO REVEAL???? I MADE AN AUDIBLE SQUEAK!! This shit turned me into a mouse.
I loved how we experienced the episode the way Lilia experiences time! I especially like how we were right about the "Don't try to save Agatha" line!
The maestra was a very cool little character!
They left the door open to Wanda coming back ("Is Wanda Maximoff really dead? "Yes. No. Maybe." with that damnable smirk), which I, as a Wanda fan, am very happy about.
The Salem Seven are either dead or incapacitated, I'm honestly not sure.
We are very likely going to get a final showdown with Agatha and Rio ("When she calls you a coward, hit the deck")! I really hope that Nicholas Scratch is at its base, because Lilia did point out that the Three of Swords (sorrow, grief) was something they had to face.
While I am sad that the show is ending, I'm really happy with what we have, and I'm so excited to see how they wrap everything up!

‘SNL 1975’ Finds Its Garrett Morris, Dan Aykroyd, Chevy Chase And John Belushi
By Justin Kroll, Anthony D'Alessandro January 30, 2024 10:00am
Tumblr media
Lamorne Morris playing Garrett Morris, Dylan O’Brien playing Dan Aykroyd, Cory Michael Smith playing Chevy Chase and Matt Wood playing John Belushi
EXCLUSIVE: Lamorne Morris, Dylan O’Brien, Cory Michael Smith and Matt Wood have joined the cast of Sony Pictures’ SNL 1975 that will be directed by Jason Reitman and based on the real-life behind the scenes accounts of the opening night of Saturday Night Live. Morris will play Garrett Morris, O’Brien will play Dan Aykroyd, Smith will play Chevy Chase, and Wood will play Belushi. The original screenplay is written by Reitman and Gil Kenan.
On October 11, 1975, a ferocious troupe of young comedians and writers changed television forever. SNL 1975 is the true story of what happened behind the scenes that night in the moments leading up to the first broadcast of NBC’s SNL. It depicts the chaos and magic of a revolution that almost wasn’t, counting down the minutes in real time to the infamous words, “Live from New York, it’s Saturday Night!”
The screenplay is based on an extensive series of interviews conducted by Reitman and Kenan with all the living cast members, writers and crew. Reitman, Kenan, Jason Blumenfeld, Erica Mills and Peter Rice are producing.
Morris can currently be seen in FX’s fifth season of Noah Hawley’s hit drama series Fargo as North Dakota Deputy Witt Farr. He joined the cast of Netflix’s Unstable for season two opposite Rob Lowe. Prior to this, he starred as the titular lead in the hybrid live-action/animated Hulu series Woke, inspired by the life and art of cartoonist Keith Knight.
O’Brien was most recently starring in Ponyboi, which premiered as one of ten films in the U.S. Dramatic Competition at the 2024 Sundance Film Festival. Up next, he will be seen in the feature films Caddo Lake, from the writing-directing team of Logan George and Celine Held and producer M. Night Shyamalan, and Anniversary, a thriller co-starring Diane Lane, Kyle Chandler, Zoey Deutch and Phoebe Dynevor. His other credits include Searchlight feature Not Okay from writer-director Quinn Shephard, the critically-acclaimed crime drama The Outfit, opposite Mark Rylance, Zoey Deutch, and Johnny Flynn; Paramount’s Love and Monsters and the popular Maze Runner franchise
Best known for his role on as the Riddler on the popular Fox series Gotham, Smith can currently be seen as Julianne Moore’s son in Todd Haynes’ May December. He most recently starred as Varian Fry in Anna Winger’s limited series Transatlantic opposite Gillian Jacobs and Corey Stoll for Netflix. Smith has also worked with Todd Haynes in both Carol (as private investigator Tommy Tucker) and Wonderstruck.
Wood has appeared in the original Broadway cast of Spongebob Squarepants and as husky kid icon Augustus Gloop in the Broadway First National Tour of Charlie and the Chocolate Factory. Television credits include Law and Order: SVU, Instinct and Difficult People.
Morris is represented by CAA, Entertainment 360, The Lede Company, and Myman Greenspan Fox Rosenberg Mobasser Younger & Light. O’Brien is repped by William Morris Endeavor Entertainment, Principal Entertainment LA, and Lichter, Grossman, Nichols, Feldman, Rogal, Shikora & Clark. Smith is repped by Circle of Confusion. Wood is repped by BRS/Gage Talent Agency.

Unpopular Opinion:I liked S3 Logan Echolls, but something about movie-and-beyond Logan felt off and "sanded-down"
In Season 3 of the main show,Logan was quieter and sadder, but it made sense to me,since it was a quiet time after a truckload of trauma - aka,he wasn't constantly on edge. Besides,he still had a lot of cool moments and went berserk to defend Veronica time after time. The only complaint I have is Logan being treated as a mindless meathead. That directly contradicts his obscure references to random works of art and dramatic attitude in the previous seasons. But other than that,he felt very much like Logan.
In the movie,he was just okay,IMO. He did have a great chemistry with Veronica and his background with Carrie was very much in-character(on a tangent, the mystery itself was stupid. Like, why frame Logan for the killing of an emotionally unstable drug addict when they could just... Cause an OD,or whatever. Maybe Veronica could return to Neptune to help Keith out,for example. Logan suspects Carrie was murdered and still asks for Veronica's investigation skills. Besides,I never got the sense Cobb was particularly dangerous - just have the shithead killed. It's not hard for a bunch of rich and powerful people like the 09'rs to hire a hitman or something). Plus,Jason Dohring did an amazing job to make Logan seem more of a complicated good guy,but the script didn't flesh him out well,IMO. But Veronica being cool and having a flawless arc made up for all the fuck ups, lol.
In the books,he was less of a character and more of a romantic idea in Veronica's mind and a military brochure. I was so excited to see more of Logan being a good guy who cares to make a difference in the world and he just wasn't there. I was told he was a hero, but this hero wasn't shown. Principled good guy Logan was supposed to be at least twice as colourful and nuanced as his teen self. Not only there's his past as the Obligatory Psychotic Jackass, but how driven, proactive and intelligent he's and the fact that the US military is a moral clusterfuck. True believer lawful good Logan Echolls who fights corruption on the inside through Malicious Compliance and Loophole Abuse. FMA Manga Roy Mustang but make it neo-noir,lol. Plus,it would add to him and Veronica being a Power Couple and to Veronica being constantly worried about Logan's safety.
In the show,Logan is more or less as bland as he was in the books, but Jason's acting was a saving throw. Besides,he had some cool moments. But overall, meh.

fic recs: l/v fic fest, lawyer!veronica fics
In anticipation of the upcoming 2023 Logan x Veronica "New Year, New Fic" fest, I bring you a small selection of fics inspired by lawyer! Veronica fics.
Day 1 of the challenge is February 1, 2023 so be sure to check out the #2023 LV New Year here on tumblr or the AO3 collection for more fic and art.
Tumblr media
As a reminder, there are so many fics that fill these tropes. These are just a smattering, so make sure to make note of the ones you love the most and next week, when the challenge starts, maybe go drop those you love a kudos, a comment, or both to share the joy.
Fic: A Better Claim by @best-laid-plaids Rating: M Tropes and Themes: Movie-AU, Veronica as a lawyer (obviously), Logan in a baseball tee only features once but is very important to me, emotionally fraught phone conversations, absence and distance makes the hearts fonder and the loins hornier Read if: The fic that inspired this prompt and that has a few moments I think about constantly (e.g., the aforementioned baseball tee). Every chapter, every interaction, every moment of this fic feels so earned. Plus, we get to see Veronica actually dump Piz in chapter one, so that's fun.
Fic: Second Chances by kimikochan Rating: M Tropes and Themes: Movie-AU (man I love them) that starts from Keith's accident, a little Justice for Parker vibes, and some hearty lovers to strangers to friends to lovers happening keeping us well fed Read if: You want to see what might have happened if Veronica's return to Neptune occurred because of Keith's accident, not Logan's murder case. Also, you want a little angsty sexual tension (who doesn't?????)
Fic: Between Friends by celtic_flicka Rating: E in one chapter, M for the rest (posted on LJ and marked NC-17 but that seems a lot imho) Tropes and Themes: Post-S3 future fic AU, friends reunited after time, whoopsie we had sex and let's pretend we're still just friends, whoopsie I'm in love with you maybe we can still just be friends? Read if: You're unfamiliar with most LJ fics and you want a good mix of sexiness, domesticity, fun friendship banter, and Veronica and Mac as best buds. Also features fun little additions that worked themselves out of fic between s3 and the movie, like Mac dating Max.
Fic: Prima Facie by @bryrosea Rating: T (for Logan takes teenagers on a field trip and hilarity ensues) Tropes and Themes: Using teenagers as flirt bait, attraction at first sight, both of them about the other "I see it, I like it, I want it, I got it" Read if: You too want this description of Logan to ring in your head for all time - "Tall, well-muscled in a lean way, and with, she can’t help noticing, no real ass to speak of, he shouldn’t draw more than a second glance, but Veronica is uncomfortably sure that she’s been staring at him."
Fic: You Again by Oliviet Rating: M Tropes and Themes: All these two is deny deny deny, 8-years of radio silence and that makes all the difference, did I mention they are absolutely terrible at the denial? Read if: You want a fluffy, smutty, slowburn-ish romp where you get to witness Logan and Veronica sort of luxuriate in their maturity and growth together.
Fic: The Law is Reason by @scabopolis (hey! that's my name!) Rating: T Tropes and Themes: Anatgonistic co-workers bonding over late night woes, movie canon dialogue shoehorned into unlikely places, the talking leads to touching (as in they literally touch hands) Read if: You want to indulge my shameless self-promotion.

I had a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to see ATTACK on TITAN: THE MUSICAL. Based on the award-winning Manga by Isayama Hajime of the same name.  Written by Hata Masafumi. AOT The Musical takes the conventional musical theatre experience and mixes in state-of-the-art technology to simulate a new kind of experience. Combining both practical and computer-generated effects (CGI).
A century ago, the grotesque giants known as Titans appeared and consumed all but the last remnants of humanity. The survivors took refuge behind giant walls. Today, the threat of the Titans is a distant memory, and a boy named Eren Yeager yearns to explore the world beyond his current circumstances. What began as a childish dream, though, will become an all-too-real nightmare when the Titans return and humanity is once again on the brink of extinction.

━◈ WANTED CONNECTIONS ... four new ones have been added to the page!
there are tales of how dante masoe is searching for their childhood frenemy/rival, which is antagonistic in nature. the records show that they are about 25-29 years old and their photographs look like chelsea islan, jung hoyeon, deniz can aktas, michael evans behling, jane de leon, moon gayoung, madeleine madden, ozge yagiz, bright vachirawit, yamazaki kento, yuki kato, dylan wang, quintessa swindell, jessie mei li, khadijha red thunder, maris racal, mimi keene, cha eunwoo, cody christian, justin chien, samantha logan, fc ultimately utp. help us find them, but make sure that you speak to karin at @kencanas on tumblr beforehand. this is their story so far: this muse would have grown up in cynefin along with dante. they probably share quite a few mutual friends too or were in the same circles growing up, but that’s the main reason why they (barely) tolerate each other. otherwise, they get quite competitive with each other and have always been that way, never really able to see eye to eye. whenever they’re alone, dante sees no need to sugarcoat the fact that they’re not exactly friendly with each other. why the two of them consider each other rivals is up for future discussion, but i would like the thinly veiled antagonism to be mutual.
there are tales of how dante & savina masoe is searching for their parents’ protege, which is up to player in nature. the records show that they are about 28-34 years old and their photographs look like daniel ezra, damson idris, hande ercel, oh sehun, apo nattawin, avan jogia, greta onieogou, bai lu, jaz sinclair, seo kang joon, kwon nara, kylie verzosa, alia bhatt, reina hardesty, kofi siriboe, lin yanjun, dev patel, lee junho, yang yang, zeng keni, fc ultimately utp. help us find them, but make sure that you speak to karin or liza at @kencanas or @svnblinds on tumblr (or via discord if you’re already a member) beforehand. this is their story so far: neither dante nor savina is very interested in taking over their parents’ textile business, something that has always been obvious on dante’s end and her best-kept secret on savina’s end. while this muse’s personality and their dynamic with the masoe siblings are largely up to player/discussion, one given thing about them is that they’re a key employee at the masoes’ small textile empire in the valley. they would be someone the masoe parents trust with their job and see a lot of potential in. should it come out that neither masoe siblings are continuing the family business, the burden of running it may just fall on this muse’s shoulders.
there are tales of how lintang aulia is searching for their elixirs teacher, which is platonic/transactional in nature. the records show that they are about 28+ years old and their photographs look like simone ashley, clark backo, fukushi sota, julie estelle, seo yeji, keith powers, lucien laviscount, melisa asli pamuk, adonis bosso, mike angelo, devery jacobs, ni ni, courtney eaton, jung hoyeon, medalion rahimi, mena massoud, himesh patel, may calamawy, woo dohwan, fc ultimately utp. help us find them, but make sure that you speak to karin at @kencanas on tumblr beforehand. this is their story so far: despite their lack of affinity in khemia, lintang is also stupidly stubborn about feeling like they need to learn it. elixirs, especially, is something that they strongly think would be incredibly useful. now that they’re stuck in cynefin and working in verum, lintang would seek out someone who they think would be able to unofficially mentor them in the art. i imagine that the relationship is at least a touch positive, but how close they are is up for discussion, especially because this muse is largely utp. the only two things i require are that they were trained in elixirs and that they are either a verum staff/professor or cynefin resident. this connection can be taken in tandem with lintang’s regular contact or part-time employer, too.
there are tales of how lintang aulia is searching for their part-time employer, which is professional in nature. the records show that they are about 35+ years old and their photographs look like arifin putra, martin sensmeier, lim jiyeon, rege-jean page, kuroki meisa, aishwarya rai, keanu reeves, mahersala ali, elodie yung, dichen lachman, riz ahmed, gong yoo, qin lan, raymond ablack, deepika padukone, iko uwais, oliver jackson-cohen, gina torres, sanada hiroyuki, fc ultimately utp. help us find them, but make sure that you speak to karin at @kencanas on tumblr beforehand. this is their story so far: while lintang mostly works at verum as an infirmary staff, she has a tendency of spreading herself too thin to keep herself occupied. so it’s no surprise that she’s taken to part-timing with a local doctor/healer/apothecary in town. everything about this muse is utp other than the fact that they must be a medic of some kind, as mentioned above. i imagine that lintang is determined to gain their respect and/or approval, but how the current relationship is can be discussed further. they just would have to be open enough to willingly let an outsider trapped in cynefin to currently work with them. this connection can also be taken in tandem with lintang’s elixirs teacher connection.

As couples embark on the journey of planning their wedding in the Windy City, the array of affordable venues demonstrates that love knows no budgetary bounds. From hidden gems in neighborhood parks to historic mansions and lakefront vistas, Chicago offers a diverse selection of venues that allow couples to tie the knot without breaking the bank. These venues stand as testaments to the idea that affordability and romance can coexist, creating a foundation for a lifetime of love that begins with a celebration as unique as the couple themselves. In the heart of Chicago, where dreams are as vast as the skyline, affordable weddings become a reality, and love takes center stage.

Art21 proudly presents an artist segment, featuring Theaster Gates, from the "Chicago" episode in the ninth season of the "Art in the Twenty-First Century" series.
"Chicago " premiered in September 2016 on PBS. Watch now on PBS and the PBS Video app: https://www.pbs.org/video/art-21-chic...
Theaster Gates first encountered creativity in the music of Black churches on his journey to becoming an urban planner, potter, and artist. Gates creates sculptures out of clay, tar, and renovated buildings, transforming the raw material of the South Side into radically reimagined vessels of opportunity for the community.
Establishing a virtuous circle between fine art and social progress, Gates strips dilapidated buildings of their components, transforming those elements into sculptures that act as bonds or investments, the proceeds of which are used to finance the rehabilitation of entire city blocks. Many of the artist’s works evoke his African-American identity and the broader struggle for civil rights, from sculptures incorporating fire hoses, to events organized around soul food, and choral performances by the experimental musical ensemble Black Monks of Mississippi, led by Gates himself.
