I ACTUALLY HATE WRITING ANGST. but it has to be done. i'm finishing writing a smut for him so 🙏I'LL TAKE THIS ONE. hint of klance?? really implied klance??. tbh i might make a second part if enough people want it

today was the day.

you straightened up from where you were sitting on your bed, holding a little letter in your hand. a letter you would give to keith if you were too scared to even say it straight to his face.

"i like you." it read. you slightly cringed at how it sounded like a middle schooler's confession letter.

but it was straightforward and got the point across. if it backfired, you could always make up some crazy backstory to the note, but you were sure it wasn't going to get to that point.

you were hoping it wouldn't.

you and keith have been basically tied together for as long as you could remember. you went through elementary school, middle school, and even the garrison academy, until he eventually dropped out.

somehow you had managed to follow him into space. a chance of fate, that one night you managed to follow lance and hunk and pidge.

now basically a medic, since you weren't meant to be a paladin and this was the best job you could fit into. and so far, you've been having the time of your life for the past few months.

of course, that didn't mean you were entirely relaxed all the time. it seemed way too often that one of the paladins have to come to you to fix up an injury they had received, either on a mission or even just practicing. keith was your most normal visitor, and you definitely weren't complaining. (but you were always worried for him.)

letting out a huge sigh, you stand up from your bed and make your way to the door, it sliding open once you were in close proximity. you began sweating as thoughts raced through your mind.

what if he genuinely doesn't like you like that?

what if this ruins what you guys have been building up for years?

what if this disgusts him and he never talks to you again?

what if he does something worse than him saying "no"?

you shook your head. you weren't too confident, but you also weren't going to dampen your mood. all you have to do is go up to him, hand him the note, and wait.

you were about to go search for keith, when it turns out you didn't have to move at all. he was making it down the hallway, and he perked up a little when he saw you standing there.

"hey, i have a question," he sheepishly rubbed the back of his neck when he had finished jogging towards you.

he noticed the envelope in your hands, but paid no mind to it as you gestured for him to come inside your room.

"so, what do you want to talk about?" you held off on confessing, opting to hear him out first since he did come looking for you, and you were curious. you placed the envelope on the drawer, right next to a picture of you and keith as kids that you had always kept on you.

he slumped onto your bed, letting out a big sigh as you could see he was struggling to find words for what he wanted to say.

"i don't know what to tell lance."

"tell lance?" you questioned. maybe he needed your advice to just talk to lance about something important.

"well. . ." he hesitated.

"you can tell me anything, keith," you made your way over to him and sat next to him.

"i don't know how to tell lance i like him."

you sure as fuck weren't expecting that.

your jaw dropped, and keith watched as you turned away from, not wanting him to see your glossy eyes.

"w-well." your voice cracked, you quickly covering it up with a cough. "sorry, allergies."

when you finally faced him again, you saw him looking at you questioningly. "you alright?"

"yeah, yeah." you rubbed your eyes as if they were itchy, playing into the 'allergies' cover-up. at least he won't ask why your eyes were red and teary.

(but you knew he was smarter than that.)

"hm, well." you tried not to think about it too hard, lest you start tearing up again. "just be bold and do it. you miss all the shots you don't take."

very ironic.

he grunted as he sat up. "as if i haven't been telling myself that for months.

months?

you've been pinning for a man who's liked someone else for months. all those years of childish infatuation down the drain. all the years of thinking about a future with him.

you wished you never met him.

quickly standing up so he wouldn't see the tears threatening to fall, you excused yourself.

"i have to use the bathroom. sorry keith, i'll see you later." right before you left, you turned your head at an angle so you could see him from the corner of your eyes.

"and remember, what could go wrong?" everything went wrong for you.

but you couldn't be mad at him. you were mad you didn't see the signs. it's not his fault he wasn't in love with you, and there was nothing you could do to change that. the most you could do out of love for him is hope that him and lance get together.

the door shut behind you, leaving a very confused keith on your bed.

he also made his way to the door, trying to build up confidence to ask lance out. his eyes trailed to the picture of you and him, and he smiled. he loved you like a sister, and couldn't imagine losing you, although you did seem a bit more distant after he. . .

he realized.

looking at the letter you left on the drawer, he saw that it was addressed to him.

he didn't bother opening it, because he already knew what was in it.

"fuck," he ran a hand through his hair. you were the last person he should've asked for advice. rushing, he went looking for you.

you on the other hand were in a random hallway, rubbing your wet face to make it look as presentable as possible before you went to the training deck to work out all your feelings. is it a healthy coping mechanism? probably not. but you didn't care.

how did you not see the way the two of them interacted? they were obviously a lot closer than with the other paladins. you were stupid.

Shockingly, Keith neither tans nor burns in the sun, however certain spots of him look bruised if he spend too much time in the sun (my thoughts is that it's kinda like superman getting powers from certain lights, but the suns made of quintessens (???) and turns certain bits of his skin to the shade it would have been had he been born galra).

To be honest the only thing I really know about him aside from the The Who is that he’s been married from a very long time and that when he found out in the ‘90s that he had three daughters he never knew about, he was very eager to welcome them into his family. Both of which I think are quite admirable, especially considering the typical rockstar sexual ethics (looking at you, Mick). He seems quite sweet and from very limited info his relationship with Pete Townshend also seems interesting?

Oh, I don’t know why I know this fact, but I’m also aware that he has a cannabis allergy, because one of my friends does as well and she got really sick when we went to the Stones concert this past summer because some old guy was smoking in front of us the entire time.

“No, really, he’d love to,” Lance said into the phone, just as Keith pressed the button for the kettle to start heating up.

Those words were enough to raise Keith’s suspicions just a tad. He shot Lance an inquisitive glance while opening the cabinet to retrieve his box of morning tea, but his husband was the picture of innocence, flipping casually through a Home Depot catalog they had received in the mail yesterday.

“Oh, definitely. If you need someone to paint your insides white, Keith’s your man.”

Keith dropped his box on the counter, tea bags spilling out onto the granite.

okay there are too many good things about this fic i cannot choose which to highlight, and so i will mention them all. ahem: a) lance is a ray of sunshine who regularly uses his power of cuteness to his advantage, b) adorable team bonding, c) shiro is a dorky nerd, d) HEALTHY LANCE AND ALLURA COMMUNICATION, e) krolia and romelle have actual characters, f) lance has allergies which isn’t rly important but he gives me a vibe that he’s allergic to several things and it’s very validating to see it in fic, g) lance validation and feeling expression for the piece of shit game show episode, h) observant lance!! and i) literally the most painful and necessary and well-written klance fight i’ve read in a while! hurt badly but was resolved wonderfully 10/10

this is one of my fave vld fics of all time. although fair warning it is very violent for a good chunk of time. the story is EXCELLENT, the entire thing will have u biting ur nails in terrified anticipation and i mean that literally. whole time i was gagged. at the edge of my seat. AND i have several specific lines screenshotted bc the pure fucking devotion and care knocked me out of the water

5. you and me are cosmic dust by Yuu_chi

Knowing that your team loves and trust you no matter what and believing it are two very different things.

i LOVE keith angst. i know this fandom is very langst heavy and honestly i am too but sometimes keith angst is so so good. and this fic is one of them!! excellent read and features observant lance as well. OH and there’s a little sprinkling of suave keith in here too lol

Everyone has allergies

It’s space tho so I think how allergies present can be WAY DIFFERENT and WAY WEIRD

Pidge and Keith get food allergies but specifically in one galaxy to a certain produce that made them turn purple.

There was a planet where when Lance drank the water he would speak in a different language that definitely wasn’t anything he knew (Pidge thinks it was a dead language for sure)

Hunk had regular ass allergies to pollen but just kept sneezing until someone clapped

Shiro hasn’t gotten any and the team are so petty about it

Coran is lactose intolerant (somehow??)

Allura has one against some subspecies of animals and she’s always sad she can’t say hello to them

honestly just rambling a bit more about magic within the demon AU, because why not, it's fun.

I think magic is something that all humans can fundamentally learn to use, it's just not commonly spoken of. There's a lot of information control going on to prevent the abuse of magic and demons, to the point where most people just assume they're stuff out of fantasy novels that don't exist in reality. Most magical knowledge is passed through family lines, typically in the hands of exorcists, but people can learn about it elsewhere. It used to be a lot more common in the past, but in the modern era it's definitely a deliberately lost art.

Shiro was trained as an exorcist from a young age, but it was never the right fit for him. He always dreamed of the stars and space instead, so his family let him go. He still knows several basic spells, mostly for protection and defense, and has basic knowledge of how to exorcise a demon and how to summon a familiar. He has never done the latter, since he didn't see any reason to since he wasn't planning on becoming an exorcist.

Ironically, that same knowledge comes in handy during his time in the arena as Champion.

Demons are creatures of pure magic, and in a way, I'd say that their most apt comparison is actually the rift creatures. They are just a more advanced form of them that have evolved alongside the creatures of their planet into what they currently are today. They can take on many forms, though in the modern era most of them prefer to take on a humanoid shape, though not all. More powerful demons can create corporal forms all on their own, others need to 'borrow' theirs from other beings.

Because they're creatures of magic, most demons spawn fully formed. The few who don't are usually half-demons, rare but they do occasionally happen. Half-demons usually have flesh and blood bodies, but their souls are the same composition as a normal demon's. They have a finite (if long) lifespan, and are the only times demons ever serve as a 'parent'.

Which means that to other demons, eighteen year old Keith is literally a baby to them. But since demons have no real concept of 'babies' they don't treat him like one. He's more like a fun novelty.

Keith, despite having a large part of himself be made up of literal magic, is fundamentally bad at it. This is because his magic is a literal blend of demonic and Galran, resulting in him being good at neither. It also nullifies his own demonic energy, making him virtually undetectable and allows him to completely pass as a human aside from an odd allergy to silver.

you as a medic had to rescue injured people. that was your job at the garrison. you had to accompany dying people day and night. had to comfort families.(poor you)

when the paladins finally arrived with the alien ship, you went straight for Lance. but you couldn't go to him as he had to go straight to a meeting

when the meeting was finally over, he saw you. his eyes wide open. tears in them 

„Y-Y/n" he stuttered with a shaky voice. immediately you hugged him "i missed you, you idiot" you whispered into his shoulder. 

All these years he was afraid that you had left him, but you waited for him. He didn't deserve you.

Now he was tearing up again but dont let him know I said that..-

lance buried his head in your neck "i missed you too y/n" 

He definitely had to spend this day with you. 

And all the other days 

And the rest of his life. 

Keith:

Soooo..

Keith is a "tough" guy who is kind of, well brash with everyone. 

Shiro had tried for a long time to get that out of his thick skull but without results.

So when THE Keith got a girlfriend, Shiro couldn't believe it at first.

You made Keith weak - the man could see that very clearly.

So he also saw the gentler Keith turn back into the old Keith when they were all together in space.

The mullet head seemed to miss you, even if he didn't show it. 

Shiro tried to talk to him about it, but he didn't go in for that kind of talk.

He could hardly hide his happiness when the earth was in sight again. cough cough The right one this time..😶

will you notice that he has grown? Would you be happy to see him again? He was sure you'll like Kosmo. No, didn't you have an allergy to dogs? Well, Kosmo was a space wolf after all...

"y/n?" whispered a familiar voice. You slowly looked up. Your eyes grew wide in shock. 

“Keith?” you said with a hoarse voice

Quickly he ran towards you and crouched in front of you. Thick tears ran from your still shocked face. 

"You, you...how- what?! you're missed! Why are you here! I-"

“Shhh. Shh I’m here Y/n. You are fine, I’m here muffin.” He said lovingly squishing your cheeks.

I know it's a lot. I'll explain when we get out of here. Oh god I missed you." he said as he gave you a kiss on the forehead.

Allergies I think Voltron characters have:

Keith has an allergy to grass, not like the sneezing when around it or anything but the kind where if their skin makes contact with it, it feels like he’s being bitten by fire ants. Lance once tackled him down a hill and it was not fun for either of them. (I have this allergy so I’m kinda speaking from experience.)

I just think Hunk is mild-ish allergic to cats. He sneezes SO much when there’s one around but he really wants to pet one.

I think Allura and Coran are both allergic to bees, both earth and Altean. So Coran always brings an epi pen wherever he goes and makes Allura have one on her too.

Lance is allergic to food coloring and most seafood.

Adam and Shiro are both lactose intolerant. They both got really good at finding dairy free alternatives for different foods that they knew they both liked.

Matt and Pidge are both deathly allergic to peanuts. (Matt spent so fucking long explaining deez nuts jokes to Keith because he kept making them and Keith was worried.)

Romelle is allergic to Juneberries and dairy.

Krolia is allergic to those space catapillars (the ones that were attached to hunk in that one episode.)

Keith was back on earth from a BOM mission, and, the first person he wanted to see was obviously Pidge. And he wanted more than just seeing her. He wanted to spend time with her. So after a long talk and many arguments, he finally got her to do one of the things he loved the most: camping!

( He has never done camping again since his father died. At least now, he could go with someone he really cared about.)

They arrived in the forest:

"Keith, I swear, if I die during the night because of my allergies or because an animal eat me, I'll kill you."

She said as they walked inside the forest.

He raised an eyebrow:

"You won't be able to kill me if you are dead.."

"Then I hope the animals eat you too."

He smirked at her and patted her head.

"Don't worry, the only thing that will kill you here is nothing because I think Kosmo will eat it before it eats you.... We took everything you need for allergies and for any beetle bites. You should be fine..."

"I SHOULD."

She insisted on the word "should".

They kept walking in the forest because Keith was insisting on showing her a nice spot. She followed and complained about mosquito bites all along... Until they arrived In front of a huge lake in the middle of the forest. It looked perfect.

"Wow...."

Pidge said, speechless.

"See? I told you it would be nice! Now come and help me get the camp ready."

She nodded and helped.

The night started to settle and the both had finished to establish their camp. They lit a fire and sat near it.

"Ooooo.... My muscles are dying...."

"Would you stop complaining and just enjoy the moment? Here, I brought marshmallows."

He handed the marshmallows to her and she grabbed them immediately.

"OK!? I SAID NOTHING! THAT WAS SOOOO WORTH IT!"

Her eyes were lighting and he smiled at that sight.

"For marshmallows? Seriously?"

"Man, I LOVE MARSHMALLOWS."

She looked like she had just discovered a new technology or other stuffs that Keith couldn't understand.. But no, she just had marshmallows and that was it.

Keith immediately thought that she was cute and blushed.... But then, Kosmo came and licked his cheek to take him off his thoughts.

Allura calmly put her book down and smiled at Keith.

"Hi, can I help you?"

"This is not your house. Leave," he demanded, like clockwork.

"Oh, no, you're right, I'm a guest of Mrs. McClain," she said and hoped that this charade would work because Allura knew nothing about Mrs. McClain.

"Oh," Keith seemed taken aback, "where is she?"

"She had to go run some errands," she answered, and when he looked like he was going to bolt, she added, "but she left dinner ready. A new recipe she wanted to try."

Allura had no idea who Lance was, but she winged it anyway, "He's with Mrs. McClain. Maybe they'll be back soon."

"And Veronica? And Rachel? And Luis?"

"You seem to know them very well," Allura commented and sidestepped the question.

"Of course I do!" Keith replied with an indignant huff, "I'm always with them when pa's working."

"Oh, really? Can you tell me a bit about them? I'm new in town, and that's why Mrs. McClain invited me over."

"Lance is my best friend. Rachel is his sister, and they look similar but she's a girl, y'know? Veronica is older than them and is already in high school! Luis is also in high school. He wants to go to college when he finishes.

"Mama McClain makes the best food in the whole world, so pa and I almost always eat dinner here. And Mr. McClain has a very cool motorcycle that he's fixing in the garage, and if we're good, he lets Lance and me help."

Allura's eyes unwittingly filled with tears as Keith told her all about the McClains who, for all intents and purposes, seemed to be like a second family to Keith. She tried to blink them away; it would do no good to break character now.

"Do you know my pa?" Keith asked.

"I've heard of him, I think," Allura said and tried to clear the knot lodged in her throat, "he is a firefighter, right?"

"Yes! He works very hard saving people every day! I want to be just like him when I grow up," Keith answered.

"That sounds nice," Allura managed to choke out.

"Are you ok?"

Allura waved her hand in a dismissive gesture, "Just allergies."

"Huh."

"Tell me, Keith, when was the last time you saw your pa?" she asked with some trepidation. The lights on top of them flickered.

"I... I don't..." Keith began, before doubling over, seemingly in pain, and screaming. The light bulb atop her head blew up, and Allura screamed too, hitting the ground.

When she got her bearings back, Keith was gone.

FNAF OC - Keith Afton

He's the late and young sibling of William Afton, and the uncle of Michael, Elizabeth, and Evan. Keith has a totally different mentality compared to his older brother William, and due to that personality, Keith is rated as a rare angel in the Afton household. After his youth and now in adulthood, Keith works at Freddy Fazbear's Mega Pizzaplex as the mechanic who has total responsibility for caretaking all the animatronics. In comparison to William, Keith has coal-black hair and cocoa brown eyes. The backstory to this is connected straight to William's actions as a madman dressed up as a well-going CEO of robotics. And the black hair and brown eyes are all hair dye and lenses. Different from the majority, Keith's bronchitis is a bit fragile, and due to that condition, he has a permanent dust allergy, and always wears a surgical mask just in case. Keith always tries his very best to keep the animatronics in the best condition. And due to Keith's attention, the glamrocks possess a huge advantage to go on stage in their best condition. This works for the same with the daycare animatronics such as sun, moon, and ballora as well.

As you can see, Keith is a part of the Afton family and has a huge connection with the animatronics, but he never got or gave damage to a single animatronic. To the point where he likes kids or an experience where he had lost all three of his nephews and niece, he has typically a deep relationship with the daycare crew, makes frequent visits to the daycare, and never inserted a security-sensitive program. But this is still left as a mystery, due to Freddy's position as the main animatronic of the store, so he inserted a security-sensitive program.

Keith: Faith, take them back to the tower. I'll go retrieve the Substance.

Faith: No, I'll go.

Keith: Why? In times like these, it's the mentor's role to head towards the danger.

Faith: No, but...

Keith: So, I'll leave them to you.

Faith: ...

Dino: Wait, I'll go too. By taxi...

Junior: Shitty DJ, go get a taxi...

Faith: Keith's side is definitely easier to deal with.

Keith: *sigh* I'm back...

Faith: That was a long meeting.

Keith: ... I ended up using all of my stamina.

Faith: There were other people who started acting strange like those two ?

Keith: Yeah.

Faith: Is something going on?

Keith: Basically, it looks like hay fever.

Faith: Hay fever?

Keith: But it's not simple hay fever. When you get it, you loose all motivation.

Faith: ?

Keith: Well, of course you'd react like that. Let me start from the beginning. Remember the Substance I went to retrieve? It was detected at the roots of a Japanese cedar but because of it, it looks like the pollen affected by the Substance was scattered around. And, as a result, it started stealing people's energy, leaving them apathetic. That's why Dino and Junior were acting like that.

Faith: But, we were with them and we're fine...

Keith: Yeah, it's because we're always apathetic.

Faith: *chuckle* I agree.

Keith: Thanks to that, in a rare moment, I got praised by Brad. He said that if any other Hero than me had went to retrieve the Substance, it could have gone wrong.

Faith: Isn't he being sarcastic?

Keith: Coming from him, he probably meant it as a compliment.

Faith: So, what's the range of influence?

Keith: The range isn't that big but, since it started in the centre of the city, it looks like there are already many cases. But, even if it has been affected by the Substance, it's still an allergy to pollen. You will naturally get better once the season ends, and the research division is also going to make medicine to supress the effects.

Faith: So it's like that. There's nothing more to do.

Keith: Yeah.

Faith: And Dino and ochibi-chan?

Keith: Right now, they're being examined by Victor.

Junior: Achoo! My bad, please give me more tissues...

Dino: Achoo! Ahh... I can't stop sneezing...

Victor: The runny nose and sneezing are the exact same symptoms as the common hay fever. Could you answer a few simple questions?

Victor: First, please tell me how you're feeling right now.
