Gurukulam High School celebrated Republic Day and Sports Day on January 26, 2024, with great enthusiasm and patriotic fervor. The school invited several eminent personalities from various fields to grace the occasion and inspire the students.

The program began with the unfurling of the national flag by Mrs. Muthamilselvi Tamilmaran, Vice Chairman of Keeramangalam Town Panchayat. She also delivered a speech on the significance of Republic Day and urged the students to uphold the values of democracy and secularism.

The school flag was hoisted by Ms. M. Subhaja, a national wheel chair basketball player from Sivagangai. She shared her inspiring journey of overcoming physical challenges and achieving excellence in sports. She also encouraged the students to pursue their dreams with passion and perseverance.

The Olympic flag was hoisted by Mr. M. Chandrasekar, President of KCC Cricket Club and owner of Vinayaga Computers, Kulamangalam South. He spoke about the importance of sportsmanship and teamwork in life. He also praised the school for providing quality education and holistic development to the students.

The Olympic torch was carried by Ms. A. Sangeetha, an international paralytic volleyball player from Madurai. She lit the flame of the sports meet and declared it open. She also motivated the students to participate in sports and games with enthusiasm and spirit.

The sports meet featured various events such as races, jumps, throws, relays, and team games. The students displayed their skills and talents in a competitive and healthy manner. The winners were awarded medals, shields, and certificates by the chief guests and the school chairman.

The chairman of the school appreciated the efforts of the students and teachers in organizing the program. He also thanked the guests for their presence and support. He said that the school aims to provide the best facilities and opportunities for the students to excel in academics, sports, and co-curricular activities.
