Keeper Fairwell and her adventuring party come across an empty sprawl of woods and make camp for the night - unknowingly placing themselves in the path of a monstrous, dying wolf, freshly exiled from his pack, carrying a murderous chip on his shoulder... and seeking someone to take it out on before his mortal wound claims him.

Dwarf Lupine (Lupinus caespitosus); a symbol of the cycle of rebirth, abundance, and change. “ They began the day as six and one, at dusk they became two, and by moonrise they were seven. Keeper was always his favorite, of course - the only one he ever buried. And some nights, if you find your way out to the circle, you’ll see someone’s left flowers on her headstone, right under that weeping eye. “

The origin of Thir; a wolf-beast riddled with rage at an untimely, mortal wound, a band of weary travelers who found themselves at the business end of his dying bitterness, and Keeper Fairwell, the last woman standing, armed with nothing more than a healing spell and a shred of mercy.
