Why is it that 25/21 feels like watching a Studio Ghibli movie?
It gives me the same vibes as Ocean Waves, From up on poppy hill and my absolute favorite: Whisper of the heart.

"The times" in 25/21
On 25/21 they keep mentioning "the times" and it caught my attention. We first started the drama with people wearing masks. We have Heedo's daughter being a teenager in these covid "times".

Then they show us the time of youth of Heedo and Yijin. The Korean IMF crisis is present, causing many problems in the "adult world", as Heedo puts it. She says that those issues have nothing to do with her because she is young, and she has nothing to lose.

But what happens next? The life and dreams of our Heedo are crushed when, because of these problems in the adult world (the IMF crisis), her fencing team is cut from the school budget. At the same time, we have Yijin and everything that he had to go through due to this economic crisis; his father went bankrupt, his family had to split up, and he has to deal with the people who lost money because of his father. After all, young people are not exempt from these problems of the “adult world”. Isn't that sad? We have our dreams, plans, and ideals for the future; why does all of that always have to be affected by "the world of adults"?

Even so, our heroine, far from getting depressed and taking this difficulty as an end to her dreams. She tries in different ways (some a bit risky lol) to get back on the path of her dreams. I think Heedo is very inspiring. She has a passion and dedication to achieve her dreams that we should all copy, right?

Finally, we see how her efforts are rewarded, the opportunity to compete for being in the national team arrives for her. As the couch herself said, it's all because she didn't give up.

I think this will be a motivation for Heedo's daughter and for us as well. Even if we see that our dreams and plans are crushed because of “the times” and “the problems of the adult world”, we shouldn't give up. After all, the Chinese word for crisis also means opportunity, and we don't know when "the times" will open a window for us.
