And so the Amulet brainrot continues! Here's a re-design of Emily for the later books.

You'll notice that I completely omitted the vest and hooded cloak. I always felt like the cloak would be kind of hard to move around and fight in, so I decided to ditch it. (I was low-key worried about ruining her silhouette, until I realized that her silhouette with the cloak didn't look anything special). And I took away the vest because I feel like that's a standard outfit choice a lot of the characters go with as the series progresses, and as a main character, I feel like Emily should stand out a bit more.

I decided to put her hair up and make her outfit a bit more travel-ready by giving her pockets and a bag in which to store things, as well as boots that I think would be easier to get around in. She sort of looks like she's getting ready to go hiking, but I think that fits the adventure vibe she has going.

Also, what program are you using for animation? This looks really good!

Am I??? Getting somewhere?? I dont know. I'm not super satisfied w the hair animation but one can always learn better

I HAVE COMETH, BEARING THE FRUITS OF WAR

This was a gift made for Ei ( @motherstone ) that got WAY OUT OF HAND, but honestly? Maybe that's a good thing. The designs are all his, although Riva's design is now outdated (the consecuence of starting a project and coming back to it months later). The song is a music box version of Hymne à l'amour (coughcough,gottenfromcapcut,coughcough), and the idea behind the editing is to make it seem like a retro cartoon. Below are the still images used, and i hope yall like it!

And so I continue this spiral of Amulet re-designing insanity with re-designing Navin.

I'm gonna be real, here. Navin has never had a good design. (Actually, now that I think about it, I think Trellis was the only character who's initial design was legitimately fire, but I digress). I didn't totally know what to do with him until I remembered that he's a ten-year-old boy, and at book eight I think he's twelve. So I decided to take that into account and give him the asymmetrical socks, ripped shorts and sleeveless jacket. He's meant to be the more tech-savvy of the group, so I wanted to give him goggles like we see on the cover of book three. I wanted to really make him look like someone who'll spend his time with robots and ships, rather than a child who was haphazardly thrown into the story (which is kinda what happens in the canon story, but again, I digress).

Not sure who else I'd do a re-design for. Possibly Luger, but I dunno.

AMULET BY KAZU KIBUISHI IS MY ROMAN EMPIRE

A while back, after the release of book 9, I started chatting with @motherstone (an INCREDIBLE artist, even if you're not an amulet fan you GOTTA check his art out) and he shared this idea he had for a comic that he wanted to make but didn't really have the time to at that moment.

And me, lowkey loving the concept, proposed the idea that I make the comic for him as a gift.

This is the result.

-Concept credits go ENTIRELY to motherstone, from Emily's and Trellis' designs to the script

-I did the art and modified a bit of the script

-And obviously, all of the characters were created by Kazu Kibuishi and belong to him and Scholastic, along with Amulet as a whole. This is fanart inspired by the series.
