Here is part 2 of my rolling stock preview in SMRT Trains. Introducing, the 3rd Generation series KNS C751B.
I am going to brief you through about this 3rd gen rolling stock in SMRT. The Kawasaki Heavy Industries & Nippon Sharyo C751B also known as the KNS C751B is a type of train model that was manufactured by Kawasaki. It was constructed in 1999 in Japan.
The year that it went into revenue service was in the late 2000s where its plying on the Changi Airport Line. The interior of the KNS C751B was changed from past to present. In the past, the carriages onboard the train had luggage racks. The purpose was to have commuters onboard placing their own personal luggage on the racks in the train.
However due to theft of crime, the luggage racks were then removed on all KNS trains and therefore, more convenient spaces for passengers onboard to have standing space.
Another feature is, the VPIS (Visual Passenger Information System) display on the back ends of the train. These information systems helped out to visualize the next stop upon arrival. It showed the time and date on the displays itself. Special occasion messages were even displayed as well!
The LCD screens above the seats are retrofitted. These screens shows commercials, information display and movie trailers. However the LCD screens were not in use back then.
The VPIS however in the present were then replaced into a newly fresh staris. The upgrades on the KNS C751B were changed throughout from past to present.
Facts: the first set KNS C751B that is serving on NSEWL mainline was EMU311/312.
The KNS trains however, are marking the decommissioning, preservation and scrapping dates to make way for MOVIA R151. The rest of it are still on the mainline, do remember to look out for them and treasure it before it's gone.
That is part 2 of my SMRT Rolling Stock preview. There is still more to come, stay tuned!

This is the last 32x unit part of the KNS series and it marks the end of the 32x units. Down to 5 KNS units left as of today. Treasure them as much as you can before it's too late :(
