I’ve been playing more Minecraft in the realm my boyfriend has set up which is really nice and I’m obsessed lol but I went in after he’d gone to bed last night to do some fishing. The little house he’s let me take over as mine has a little pier attached so you go through my studio to get to it. I’d been decorating the studio a little bit so I made the attic space into a little sitting room with some cyan furniture and I used some sakura wood for the wood furniture in there. I really like the pale warm tone with the cooler, darker cyan. I chose the sakura wood in the first place because it was a new lumbar we had gathered together so it made me think of him leading me gently around the world showing me how to collect things and patiently explaining how everything worked to me while also showing me how I can contribute stuff if I wanted to.

When I walked in last night I saw that my boyfriend had been busy because he’d replaced almost all the wood furniture in my whole space to be the sakura wood. I didn’t ask him to or anything, he just saw what I was going for in the one section I’d decorated and made the rest of what he’d decorated match what I had done. He finished that today while we were playing together so I could re-place my pet cat back onto the table and then said while we were standing outside of the little house that we could replace the wood beams too so the outside would match.

Long distant relationships can suffer from not being able to do little things for each other, like bringing a cup of tea or moving the laundry into the dryer because you know your partner forgets or bringing home a special treat because you know they had a bad day, but we have this little world where he sets up materials and decorates things for me and I organize things and go out to collect new stuff and dye things and replace the coal in the smoker. A little space where we get to show little acts of care to each other repeatedly. It’s so wholesome and sweet.

Lrb dear god, this reminded me of that time when Alfred-chan got sooooo mad at my post explaining why fans should respect bisexual headcanons for Maria and Malenia instead of pretending like they're canonically lesbians and that they get oppressed and erased by mxf ships with them. They kept vagueing that post for like a MONTH in their blog including in tags under reblogs of Maria fanart, passively-aggressively changed their url to character+sexuality to "spite" me and then even made a sockpuppet account to start shit with me in the comments.

They deactivated when me and Val completely obliterated their "you cultivate lesbiphobic following by telling people why they should respect all sexuality headcanons instead of acting cultish or assuming their experiences and stereotypes equal canon confirmation" garbage with actual facts and logic tho but I screenshotted everything fjthfgfj (I learned to document everything the hard way after they've changed the she/they pronouns to they/they pronouns ONLY to accuse me of misgendering, so thank you for making me wiser I guess 😎). Even more vile, as they, a white person, larped as an Arab in that sockpuppet to hold even MORE "privilege" against me in discussion gjtjfh Because for them race, gender or sexuality are just badges of honor and dishonor, they don't see these as traits of actual human beings. And Dr Eugene X, who worked with them and weaponized her race to accuse everyone who disagreed with her of racism, didn't bat an eye at such a terrible act too?? As usual, rules are not for their friends, lol

It is not even the worst thing Alfred did, and yet all of this just, just, JUST because I wrote a point on why bisexual headcanon people did nothing wrong and there is no ground to claim something is canon when it isn't. 🤦‍♂️ Like, they were soooo convinced that I hated lesbian headcanons and that I'd feel angry if they called Lady Maria a lesbian, when what I was angry at is this exact toxic behavior in the fandom. No matter how much you like a headcanon, don't be a bitch about it. Maria doesn't """belong""" to any gender or sexuality, she belongs to anyone who likes her and is invested in her complexity as a character!!!

Yet, apparently, common Malenia simps / Finlay shippers are no better than common Maria simps / Mariadeline shippers. Just, wild how after shit like this, many people have the guts to claim that it is "sexist redditbros" who are the biggest problem of creators in the fandom. 🤦‍♂️ They'd actually blush if they encountered what such self-proclaimed "feminists" do to their own (!!!) over headcanons. 🤦‍♂️🤦‍♂️🤦‍♂️

Went to an antique shop today and there was a suitcase full of a mix of old photography that looked like it probably ranged from around the 1920s to mmmaybe the 1970s at most, and it just sort of struck me how sad it was. Photos in the hundreds of people of all ages, some posing, many candid, taken by people who knew their names and loved them, now sitting in a box inside some little corner antique shop. Priceless memories, sold for a dollar.

I picked up a black and white photo of little girl, a toddler, I would guess probably taken sometime in the '60s at latest, and flipped it over to see if there was a date. In carefully penned cursive, someone had written:

"August— This is the first time we got her to sit still long enough for a photograph."

That scooped something out of me. Who was this little girl? What was her name? How much someone must have loved her not just to take a photo, but to write a note about a tiny, mundane first on the back.

I almost bought it for that alone, because I wish these photos had someone to love them again, but I'd already bought an item from the shop and couldn't really justify spending more money there on photos of strangers.

But I do hope that someone will see them and think they're beautiful and worth something, too.
