Handwritten resume for actress Kathryn Loder (1940-1978).
She’s most recognized today as the villainess in Jack Hill’s Foxy Brown (1974) where she shared a few memorable scenes with Pam Grier.
Sadly, she passed away at the very young age of 38 and it really breaks my heart because she had a wonderful screen presence and I would have loved to see her in more things.

Foxy Brown (1974)
Plot: Foxy Brown (Pam Grier) sets out to bring down a drug and prostitution ring by going undercover on the inside. Can she emerge victorious against the gangsters and their connections?
Review: Fox Brown was originally intended as a sequel to the previous years Pam Grier vehicle Coffy, but when the studio didn’t want that to make that film, writer / director Jack Hill revised it into Foxy Brown.
His revisions obviously didn’t go very deep; this feels like a sequel in all but name, with Foxy receiving scant introduction - it’s almost like you already know her - before getting thrown into another adventure head first. It isn’t too long in before confirmation that only the name has changed, as Grier plays exactly the same character, in exactly the same way, in a film that looks and feels, in style and tone, pretty much exactly like the first one. Many people would make a point to make subtle differences to set the films apart: not Hill.
From then on, it’s pretty much your typical 1970′s blaxploitation movie. There is a plot about a gang trying to kill black people, some pretty poor fight scenes, a little bit of needless nudity, and of course, Antonio Fargas. It’s entertaining and it’s enjoyable, but it’s not great and unlikely to win many awards. Like many Grier movies, it has a cult following, which includes Quentin Tarantino amongst many others. If she was in her prime today, she’d probably be getting some much bigger roles.
It’s fun but it’s not brilliant, and you can literally watch it like a sequel to Coffy if you ignore the names. If you liked that, you’ll love this.

Foxy Brown - A Whole Lotta’ Woman
“That’s my sister baby, and she’s a whole lotta woman.”
Caught up with the 1974 blaxploitation film “Foxy Brown” last night courtesy of the Netflix instant streaming queue (I noticed yesterday when I was editing the list, that certain films would only be available until Jan 1, so I moved them to the top of the list, and this was one of those). Was mostly curious, because I knew it was an influence on Tarantino’s ‘Jackie Brown’, and I thought it might be worth a chuckle or two. The dialog was the source of most of the laughs, full of a lot of obsolete slang and gratuitous street obscenities, but the costumes were a close second. The story is basically about a sexy black woman whose boyfriend is gunned down by the drug mob because he was an informant (turned in by her sleazy brother, played by Antonio ‘huggy bear’ Fargas), and then goes on a one woman vendetta against the crime cartel. The first two thirds of the movie is pretty tiresome, once you get weary of the initial camp value, but the final third has some fun over the top violence and mayhem that is worth the price of admission alone (including Ms. Brown taking on an entire dyke bar, a couple of overweight rednecks, and chopping up several bad guys with an airplane prop). And if you’re a fan of boobies, you won’t be disappointed either.
“You pink-ass corrupt honky judge, take your little wet noodle outta here and if you see a man anywhere send him in because I do need a MAN!”
Double Feature with: Jackie Brown, Coffy

Foxy Brown *** (1974, Pam Grier, Antonio Fargas, Peter Brown) - Classic Movie Review 9419
Writer-director Jack Hill’s 1974 nasty-toned, ultra-violent but vigorous early Seventies blaxploitation action thriller Foxy Brown stars the admirable Pam Grier in one of her most iconic performances as vigilante Foxy Brown on the vengeance trail again against the kinky Mob bad guys Steve Elias and Miss Katherine (Peter Brown, Kathryn Loder) who shot dead her government agent boyfriend.
