Have some easily photocopyable flyers to hand out to the crowd the next time things kick off in New Rho and you're trying to shake the soft on zombies accusations.

He's got acne and a mullet and he's so in love.
She's going to talk at him about ghost wards for the whole of lunch and he'll have to remind her to eat.
Half the school already assumes they're a couple.
reject rizz. stare them down with big doe eyes and off-putting allure as god intended
#Drawing this blazer gave me visceral memories of the smell of a classroom full of wet wool blazers#Which is probably not an issue since the Houses make everything out of polyester and they live in an orbital station#abigail pent#magnus quinn#katakaluptastrophy art

Sources say she's been thinking about religious material culture in the Nine Houses too much again...
#the locked tomb#katakaluptastrophy art#Typical relics would be bones or body parts#but you generally can't have those for Lyctors#so I'm sure the Houses make do#but seriously i have so many questions about the theology and religious material culture of the nine houses

I opened Canva and accidentally a horrible little book of horrible little sermons...
There were many strictures against a necromancer marrying their own cavalier, and whatever road Abigail and Magnus had chosen to walk had been a difficult one: she knew that the marriage had preceded the cavaliership, which perhaps made it less grotesque for both. (HTN ch 47)

He said, I bit through the sun first. It’s human nature. That started things going. Once you take down the sun, you’re cooking with gas, pardon the pun. I sliced through Venus, Mercury, Mars…by that point a couple of the tugs had already launched through the Kuiper. I had to kill Jupiter and Saturn in a fucking hurry. I reached…they blinked away from me…all I could do was hope that they’d watched what I was doing and all died from fucking terror. You and I went full fucking Hungry Caterpillar. We took Uranus…Neptune…crunched down Pluto…

Sadly, I my artistic abilities don't run to doing a mawkish technicolour Jod painting with flying skull cherubs and J J Abrams lens flares, which is probably the actual aesthetic of Nine Houses devotional art...
But here's a cheaply-printed flimsy holy card from a mail order apostolate on the Eighth that you can use to mark where you are in the Tome/leave in spaceport bathrooms on shepherd worlds.

for the fillet i think you could add a wimple or some other mesh veil to cover the rest of your hair to make it more visually interesting!
maybe you could somehow incorporate the idea that Abigail is aristocracy into the fabric of the wimple. maybe since she would a distinguished pilgrim to the ninth similar to various lords and ladies of europe traveling to Jerusalem
[Scene: Katakaluptastrophy at home, frantically rifling through drawers. She turns round and shouts "Honey, where's my mantilla?"]
I really love this, because yes, it's absolutely what you'd assume should go with a fillet in this sort of context! And the Fifth have previous with fabric speaking volumes.
But what I'm trying to work out is whether that's meant to be the case:
At her approach, one of the pilgrims shook her hood back. She wore spectacles, and her thick brown hair was neatly bound back in a black fillet, as was customary
I feel like there's a few possibilities:
It could be that the hood is functioning as the main head covering, with the fillet peeking out at the front to indicate that this is necromantic aptitude having something on your head as opposed to being cold in church having something on your head.
A veil could have a specific meaning in Ninth religion, and something more token is being worn by adepts who are not bound by some kind of vows.
There absolutely is a veil pinned to the fillet (with all the fun possibilities suggested above), it's just not mentioned.
A veil normally would be worn with the fillet, but Harrow's AU-making mind is engaging in the same artistic shorthand you get in some classical art, where veiling underpinnings are used to indicate normative veiling that would otherwise get in the way of the scene being depicted.
#the locked tomb#abigail pent#So fascinated by the question of what Ninth pilgrimage looked like in the past#Did you have House aristocracy doing ostentatious penitence?#Or was it a more fringe thing?
