(This fanfic takes place during before and during the war between atlas and mailwan also the gender of y/n is up to the reader)

Y/n was a well known promethan assassin they kill without hesitation, some people call them a "heart-less monster" but they don't care as long as the contract is done and their payed it was all fine, they mostly take contracts from corporations (mostly maliwan and tourge) But y/n was specifically close with the katagawa family specifically one in particular katagawa jr, they were katagawa's childhood friend they were always there for katagawa whenever he needed to vent or just talk about work, y/n was basically katagawa's right hand man..but y/n had to leave they had some contracts that were on Athens and pandora when katagawa heard this he was distraught,they reassured him that it'll only be awhile they promised, they'll come back and that they'll be back before he knew it...

It's been 10 years..katagawa had already killed his siblings on the zanarra, he always imagined y/n by his side always so eagar to do whatever he wanted them to do, and ya maybe he did imagine them in his arms while he watched his siblings being killed or them on his lap while he rules out business...he misses them alot they were his only friend they were the only person who actually cared about him AND what makes it even more special is that they werent being paid to hang around him..they were his everything. They've had this dream of running the company just him and y/n but y/n's not next to him...but that's okay they'll come back...they promised.

Y/n just finished a contract on Athens when they saw mailwan ships appear in the sky one by one they flooded the sky. They were confused maliwan never sent someone to come pick them up before, then mailwan troops dropped down one with a specific general his name was "general traunt" he announced that they were looking for a "vault key" 'why would they be looking for a vault key?' One of locals told them to piss off..they got their head blown off, everyone started to run and hide in fear y/n started to try to find a fast travel near them, they still had some contracts to do on Athens but they decided it was time for a quick stop home to the katagawa's family front door cause y/n had some questions..alot of questions.

Katagawa was coming back to his office when he found y/n sitting in his chair along with nermoruss papers spread across the desk,he was speechless after all this time there they were "so what's this children of the vault thing you made a deal with?" "Oh and also when were you allowed to "merge and make deals" with other companies jr?" "I made some changes to the corporate latter and look at me now I got an office with a beautiful view oh and that children of the vault thing ya they helped me because you know you left for 10 years.." "I know and I'm sorry kat I really am I've just been so busy with the whole assassin thing i guess i could have called but I didn't kno-" they were cut off by katagawa kissing them.

He pulled them in by the hips one hand laying on their hip and one cradling a side of their face while he was kissing them passionately, they broke the kiss after awhile "i....I was in the middle of talking you know" "mmmm..and?" They kissed him "your so weird jr..I love you tho" they said kissing his cheek he grinned at their action, he sat down and yanked them down onto his lap y/n chuckled "where are the others? you know your siblings where are they? i actually couldn't wait to have a talk with Sana.." he froze for a second "oh yeah um about that...when i said i made sone changes to the corporate latter..i uh killed off my siblings" y/n thought it was a joke so they giggled a little then they saw jr.'s expression...he was serious "YOU KILLED YOUR SIBLINGS!? KATAGAWA JR WHAT THE ACTUAL FUCK!?"

They yelled as they got up from his lap, "well what was I supposed to do? You were 'busy on Athens' and I had plans no our plans to finally take into action it was the right thing to do!!" "No the fuck it was... killing them!? Jr come on you know bett-" "I DID WHAT I SAW RIGHT!" katagawa yelled he looked veryyy angry " ya well what you saw what was right wasn't actually right!! That was actually pretty fucked up.." "you say that but you literally kill for cash I mean you could work here at mailwan for me-" "I would never work here...you've changed you know, bandits now, katagawa your trusting and making deals with BANDITS NOW!?" "You have no room to talk, y/n your literally a bandit but I still love u more than life itself" 'what did he just say?' Y/n thought. It was silent for awhile "did you just call me a bandit katagawa?"

He froze 'oh shit' jr thought "I mean you are bandit like....but your no bandit.....my love?" y/n stared at him with an angry expression y/n was hurt it. Jr saw this and walked over to them "I'm so sorry y/n i went too far...i didnt mean it" y/n turned away with a sad expression on their face and said "I should have just talked to your dad" y/n turns away and starts to walk away.

"oh ya no go ahead leave me for another 10 years leave me wondering if your okay go ahead" they turned around listening to what katagawa said "the only reason I left was BECAUSE OF MAILWAN jr..God I can't do this with you right now" "can't do what?" They argued for about an hour more before jr grabbed them and hugged them close "I'm sorry...we took this way to far y/n"

Everything started to calm down a little, and they started talking to him. I still want an answer to my question" "what was your question again?" "Why are you making deals with bandits? I thought you hated people like that" " I do but they have something we could use against atlas and once I'm done with this war which will be soon we'll kill them on the zanarra and get rid of their shitty, smelly cult they have my darling" "you plan on killing them? That's my boy, " they say with a smile as they kiss him on the cheek.

"Now I have to get back to work I gotta fill out these forms and...oh I'm done for the day after that!" "What do you say y/n me and you could cuddle up and watch our favorite movie just like when we were kids" "I'm down I mean if u want to of course" "yes of course love after this well do that! I'm actually excited" "me too kat me too" (time skip to them cuddling up in bed watching the movie) "mm have I ever told you how soft your thighs are y/n?" They blushed "n-no you haven't" "well they are just the softest thighs I've ever touched" He grazed his hand over their thighs, they stared into each other's eyes admiring each other when they were interrupted by the movie starting they got excited y/n and katagawa had no distance between each other as they layed next to each other.

The movie is half way through now and y/n already fell asleep katagawa was starting to talk to them when he noticed them asleep he smiled and he turned off the TV placing the TV remote on the bedside table. He turned back over to them snuggling into them y/n moaned a little and katagawa giggled "goodnight love sweet dreams" He said as he kissed their forehead and started to drift off to sleep....

(Y/n) nervously tugged on the hem of her dress, waiting for the elevator to reach her floor. What her dress too short? Was it not formal enough? What if this was all some cruel joke of Katagawa's?

She pinched her thighs through her dress, trying to ground herself. Surely Katagawa liked her since he took the time to ask her to accompany him to a dance...right?

She was shaken out of her thoughts when the elevator opened. She stepped out and was greeted by a waiter. "Right this way, ma'am. Mr. Katagawa has been expecting you."

(Y/n) nodded shyly and began following him. With a few twists and turns down the hallways, they finally reached the room where the party was being held.

She sucked in a sharp breath. It was absolutely beautiful. Everything was decorated in black, purple, and blue and a large window stared out into space, starlight lighting up the dancefloor.

"There's my guest of honor." She heard a voice exclaim. She felt a blush creep to her cheeks when she saw Katagawa approaching her. "I was beginning to think you had stood me up."

He reached out and took (Y/n)'s hand, then planted a kiss on it. Her heart sped up as she smiled at him. "I would never. And let me just say that you have absolutely outdone yourself with this party. It's all so beautiful."

The dark haired man smiled pridefully and extended his arm, waiting for her to link her own with his. When she did, he began walking around the room, first stopping at the bar. "Thank you, (Y/n). You can never go too big when it comes to parties. Now what would you like to drink? It's all on me."

"Uh... Champagne?"

The bartender handed them both a glass. (Y/n) slowly took a sip, looking at her escort from the corner of her eyes. There was no denying that the man was a handsome sight with his sharp facial features and slight build, but there was something about him in a suit that made him so much more attractive.

"You're looking a bit red. Are you that much of a lightweight?"

She hadn't even realized she was blushing. Had he caught her staring? She quickly finished off her drink and set her glass down. "No... Just thinking, I guess."

"About?" He smirked knowingly, nudging her in the side with his elbow.

Oh, to hell with it. If she sat around like a cold fish all night, they would both be disappointed. She was going to enjoy herself, damnit. "The dancers. They look like they're having fun."

"Well, in that case," Katagawa held his hand out to her. "Would you like to dance?"

(Y/n) placed her hand in his. "I would love to."

He set his drink down and led her to the dance floor. He placed a hand on her hip and kept the other on clasping her hand. She placed her free hand on his shoulder and held her arms stiff as she looked around. It seemed as if everyone else kept away from them.

"It feels like everyone's staring at us." She whispered. "I'm not used to being the center of attention."

"Let them stare. They're probably just admiring your beauty like I am." He whispered back. He chuckled softly as her face burned pink. "Don't worry. You're with me, and that means that if a smartass says anything, I'll have them killed."

This should have alarmed (Y/n), but she found it oddly comforting and somewhat charming. "While I appreciate the gesture, right now I just want to dance."

And dance she did. The two of them spent the night in each other's arms, swaying and twirling and moving to the music. When it came time for the party to end, she found herself to be smitten with him, and it seemed to be the same case with him.

"I wish this night would never end." She sighed over another glass of champagne. "I've had so much fun with you and I don't want to go home just yet."

Katagawa raised an eyebrow and took a sip of his drink. "You know... You don't have to go home. How would you like to stay with me tonight up on Zanara?"

"I would love to."

Troy x Reader/Borderlands 3 Rewrite Pt 2

After being told that we had to find the Atlas operative, we digistructed my favorite vehicle. It was my outrunner that was pastel with skags painted on it. It only seated two however so we all had to take multiple vehicles. Luckily, FL4K was in mine, he drove while I got in the gunner seat. Our skags got into the back compartment. Driving down the streets in Promethea was exhilarating, the wind blowing through my hair as we sped to the location. All was well until I heard familiar voices coming through our Echos.

"So what do you think of our new corporate sponsors? So far, selling out is awesome!" I groaned hearing Tyreen's voice followed by Troy's.

"We gave Maliwan an unlimited supply of screaming war-meat, a.k.a. our followers. And they gave us a bunch of crazy high-tech guns." I rolled my eyes, mumbling, "Maliwan is garbage anyway.. Waste of lives.." I heard a chuckle come from Troy as if they could hear me and Tyreen cheerfully kept going. "And once they take the planet, they get Atlas, and we get the Vault. So, you're left playing with... whatever you got down there! Just keep doin' you! Ha!"

I growled, 'They are awful..' Lorelai informed us that the operative is aiming at a weapons depot. I fist pumped at the thought of new weapons, Atlas and Jakobs are my absolute favorite. The squad all jumped out of the car when we hit a road block and starting strategizing on how we are gonna take out the enemies in our way. I climbed onto one of the platform stairs while Monty charged off after the Maliwan men. Looking down my sights, I tried my best to cover Amara and Moze mostly as they are our front line. I hummed one of Tina's old songs about bombs as we slowly advanced and made our way through.

Lorelai came through on the comms just as I finished the last guy in our space and we started moving forward, "That weapons depot's a juicy target, but they've got an inpenetrable security force-field surrounding it. If you somehow crack it open, you're gonna find some quality firepower in there." I charged forward to find a new spot to snipe having a rush of energy at the thought of new guns. "Let's go guys! Guns aren't gonna loot themselves!" They all chuckled at my antics and rushed forward to cover me.

After all the men were taken out, we all jogged to the end and my face broke into a grin when I saw who it was. "Zer0!" After he super badass took out those security bots, I ran and tackle hugged him. "I missed you!" He chuckled as much as a robot ninja can and turned to the others after releasing me. "Hello, Vault Hunters. / Let's ruin Maliwan's day. / Our mission begins." I tried to act cool on the outside, meanwhile I was geeking on the inside at the idea of getting to fight along side Zer0.

He led us to a plaza and the fight immediately began. Zer0 kept me close to him, he probably still saw me as the young girl who followed him and Roland around. Zer0 and Maya were my favorites of the new Vault Hunters, Maya usually could only see me in private due to her trying to help me with my powers so the one I was always seen following around Sanctuary was Zer0. I resorted to mostly using my melee as I hadn't thought to bring anything besides my sniper with me. I was too excited about having room for new weapons. Soon enough all the bots and unforseen human enemies had been defeated and we made our way into the depot. After searching through all the weapons, to my dissapointment there were no pistols, shotguns, or snipers better than what I already had at home. 'Bummer..' I did find the sword powerup that Zer0 needed.

I ran it over to him excitedly and he seemed pleased, however he shook his head. "Let me trade for it. / Woudln't be fair. / To just take it." He held out a sniper, it didn't look like it was made by Maliwan. When I exchanged the powerup for it and began examining it, it was made by Jakobs and it was wayyy better than my current one. I thought for a moment and realized there was no way he found it here, "Where did you get this from Zer0?" He simply did a smile emoji on his head and started attaching the powerup to his sword. "Look at this. / Monomolecular edge. / Translation? Cool sword." I giggled at his antics and moved to equip my new sniper and attach the other one to the back of my hips.

My good mood soon got spoiled however when a spoiled twat came up on a nearby screen. I groaned and shook my head, 'Of course, I can't go more than an hour without hearing from idiots..' His smug voice started talking, "Hey, it's Rhys' best friend Zer0, stealing my tech. What's wrong? Atlas not "cutting it" anymore? My offer still stands. It's not too late to come work for Maliwan." He turned his gaze towards the team, "And YOU must be the Vault Hunters Tyreen warned me about. You know what, I don't even have time for you. I'll let my superior forces do the talking." His gaze turned to me now, "You however, I was told nothing about. Don't get in my way unless you want the same fate as your friends." I glared as the screen went black, "Dick.." Zane started laughing, "I would love to see you drunk. Everything would piss you off."

Zer0 interupted "That's Katagawa. / Head of Maliwan Mergers. / And Acquisitions." He made a goofy emoji face, "That guy is a douche. / And he's way obsessed with Rhys. / It's kind of creepy." He walked over to the shield blocking us in and made a happy emoji face, "With this new upgrade. / I can cut Maliwan shields. / Stand back and watch this."

I stood back and watched in awe as the shield slowly got annhialated by the sword. Zer0 seemed excited by this as I prepped the Catch-A-Ride to get my vehicle ready. "Walls cannot hold us. / Now to take down Gigamind. / That is our mission." Amara got hyped and rushed up to Zer0, "Is this Gigamind something I can punch?" Zer0 nodded, "Maliwan AI. / All their secrets in one place. / A juicy target."

Amara seemed confused, "So we break Gigamind into tiny bits and then sift through them for info?" A gleeful emoji popped up, "Precisely the plan. / Meet at Halcyon Spaceport. / Now the hunt is on." He dissapeared in true Zer0 fashion as we all loaded up into our vehicles again, this time instead of being greeted by the lovely sound of Calypso twins, my Echo started broadcasting Katagawa. I facepalmed my head into the gun in front of me resulting in it firing and accidentally hitting a security bot.

"This takeover won't be hostile for long. Atlas and Maliwan, we're hashing things out the corporate way. Rhys doesn't get it yet, but when this is over we'll all be one titanic happy family. You're small stuff, Vault Hunter. Not worth my time. Mess with my Gigamind, though, and that'll change. You keep playing under the feet of giants, you're gonna get stepped on." I grumble to myself and take my annoyance out on some random bots, 'I'll be the one doing the stepping. Mess with my friends..' We arrived at the location Zer0 marked on our maps, when a tv nearby suddenly started playing stupid music. I went closer to inspect it and saw a really slapstick comedy thing of Lilith getting her powers taken. Being the easy to upset person that I am, I prepped my brass knuckles and punched the screen out of the tv.

As soon as it went out, I heard a familiar voice in ym Echo, but no one elses. "Now that wasn't very nice, my brother worked hard on that clip." A feminine laugh came through, I growled in response, "How did you get my personal Echo code??" She laughed again, "You really think we don't know all of your codes? We always know where you are Super Fan." My only response was shocked silence. "Hey? Super Fan? Did you die of shock? That would save me some trouble, would upset Troy though." I raised a brow, "Why? He seemed to enjoy kicking the shit out of my mom." Everyone was getting supisicious of who I was talking to, "Listen Super Fan, I'm gonna need you to stop getting into the fights. Seriously. If you die, it would mean annoying issues for me." I scoffed and growled out, "I will stop fighting when you get the shit kicked out of you like Lilith had." After that I try to ignore her and act like I don't hear an annoying Calypso in my ear. Soon enough, we get near Gigamind and I hear the other one, 'Fucking great.'

Trying to tune them out, I hum and focus on sniping the men dropping in to defend it. Nailing one in the head, I pump my fist, "Fuck yeah. Best gun ever." I hear two chuckles in my ear and groan, "Why are you still in my Echo? Leave. I am ignoring you." Tyreen laughs loud, "Good job ignoring us, now you gotta start over." I hear Troy chuckle, they are basically children. "Why are you even fighting? They seem like they can handle this. You are just a girl." My blue eyes roll, "Even if I was just a girl, I would still fight. They are family now. You always fight for family." Tyreen groans at that, "Of course you are one of those types. Family is most important." She whined the last part.

I kept sniping and ignoring them, I assume Tyreen got bored and left the call as when we finished the fight I only heard one voice. It was humming and working on something metal if I am hearing properly. Maybe his arm, we all made it back to Sanctuary and I went into my room without talking to anyone while he still hummed and sang to himself. I hated myself, but I was mesmirized by it. I took my sweater off once I had my door locked. My yellow Siren tattoos glowed in the dim light, they extended across both my arms and slightly on my back and chest. I relaxed on my bed reading a book about Sirens that Maya had given me a while back. Pulling my stuffed bunny closer, I hummed along to the song that Troy was singing without thinking.

I read my book until I realized the singing had stopped, "How's it going angel? You like my singing?" I blushed and shook my head, "Nope. Not at all. I just know that song.." He smirked and laughed, it almost didn't sound smug or fake like usual. I kinda liked it, "I feel like you did like it, I heard you humming earlier, it was cute." I blushed harder and my tattoos glowed even brighter as I closed my book and glared at nothing in particular, "You have no right to call me cute. You kicked the shit out of my adopted mother." Hearing that made his go silent and still, after a few moments of silence he spoke up. "I'm sorry for that. Ty just gets carried away and we have an image to uphold to reahc our goals. I will leave you alone now though. Goodnight angel." I froze in shock, 'Did Troy Calypso just apologize to me??'

The war between Atlas and Malian soon ended due to Katagawa growing tired of fighting for something he wasn't going to get. Well, that and the fact his Zer0 tech malfunctioned on him and seriously injured him.

He pulled out of the war when he was once again conscience and thank whatever God's there may be that he survived. I'm not sure what I would've done with him not there. He's a bit of a spoiled brat to everyone else and acts like the typical big corporation asshole to them but to me, he's an absolute sweetheart.

If he died that day I would have lost my entire world.

Of course Katagawa soon got back to work... Oh no! Not work as in Maliwan!

His work on keeping our relationship being perfect. It's something of a goal in life to him for everything he does to be perfect. He never wants us to split up and he's become a bit too clingy recently. With the near death experience though, I can understand why.

"Kat! Where are you?" I shout into the hallway of our shared home. There's a faint groan from the bedroom. It's faint right now but it's there.

I walk to the room and open the door to find Katagawa on the floor reaching for the crutch I placed across the room. He was concentrating so hard on getting said item he didn't seem to realise that I had come home.

"Need some help?" The man in front of me jumps slightly out of shock and he looks up to meet my eyes. He sighs and makes a gesture for me to help him up.

I lift his somewhat frail body up and place him on the bed again. I grab the crutch and go and sit next to him. "why were you one the floor?" I lean my head on his shoulder.

His eyes are trained on the floor as he lets me lean on him.

"I wanted to do something for you but you put this," He waved the crutch slightly " too far for me to reach"

"why would I need anything from you right now? You're healing and it's my turn to look after the big shot company man" I rub his back as he now begins to lean into me instead.

"I realised how much I lost, and how much I could've lost in that war," He paused and turned to face me " I lost the Zanara, I ordered the murder of my own family and if I let it go on longer. I could have lost you"

He pulls his ECHO into his hands and shows me a picture of me and him sat on one of our earliest dates in one of the Zanara's cat cafés. This was long before the war and a few months after I began to work for Malian. Well it wasn't originally a date more of a way for Kat to be a friend rather than a boss, until we became official at least.

Simpler times.

Flash back*

"L/n, you will be coming with me to the Zanara. Tha-"

"That's your pleasure yacht, yes I know sir." I sigh. This may have bin the thirtieth time he's told me and as nice as his voice is, I could care less about the Zanara.

"Lose the attitude please. A new Cat café is opening and you will come with me to see the opening of it." He turns his back and looks back over his shoulder slightly to say, "wear something casual."

I didn't get to properly answer I just nodded even while he was out the door. I wonder if he's a cat person, he does strike me as that person. You know, evil and cute.

He could've asked any other person, he practically has the best eye candy he could have picked from with him being rich and all and yet he picks me.

Of course I'm grateful beyond belief, but could it be because he's lonely?

*Time Skip to 11:48*

"Hello Sir." even though he told me to dress casually this is still part of my job to attend events but despite this, I see none of the other visitors of the Zanara anywhere near this café.

Katagawa Jr's back is turned to mine but he greets me with a slight nod of respect. The person who has been placed in charge of the café opens the door with a large, warm welcome to the two of us as we are the only guests here.

Katagawa walks to a booth in the corner, the f/c walls being a slightly faded version of the colour. He finally faces me as he goes to sit.

His eyes widen as he actually takes in my appearance.

"You look.. Well.. You look good." He finishes after clearly struggling to find the correct words. "If I look good then the people around me must look good too." He scoffs and turns like the spoiled brat he is.

*End of Flashback

"Katagawa, before we were a thing I took care of myself pretty well. I don't need you to look after me." we hold one another as we remember the favourite parts of our past.

"Just as long as you are with me, we'll both be fine"
