Three years of marriage, four in two months, two kids and she still called him Casanova and to be honest, he still love it. "I must say I admire Riley, eight months of pregnancy in a formal ball, keeping it together, must be so hard." She and Riley wasn't friends and not always have agreed in everything but they have appreciation and respect the one for the other. When the accident happen Katie called or texted Riley at least once a day to check on her, and the now Queen was grateful.

"Ready to go downstairs, princess?" Leo said offering his arm.

"Ready" She said taking it and smiling at him. To be in an official event in Cordonia always make her nervous, since Leo abdicated before they had to went through all that, she was not used to palace life but she always tried her best.

Once they entered in the ballroom, a lot of people come to say hello to Leo while some of them looked at her with mistrust, Madeline one of them. Even if she had said she just wanted the Crown and have no feelings for Leo, Katie always suspected otherwise. After chat a moment with Drake and Maxwell (God knows Maxwell was her favorite on the court) they finally located Liam and Riley.

"Brother!" Liam said after Leo putted his arm around his little brother shoulders.

"So happy you two made it!" Riley was huge but glowing, every faction on her face was of pure happiness.

"Look at you Riley! You look beautiful!" They hugged, with precaution of not bump her belly. "I wish I looked this good during my pregnancy!" She laughed softly.

"You were beautiful, Kat" Leo said holding her by the waist.

"Flatterer" They laughed again. A moment later, some king of a neighbour kingdom requested Liam and Riley presence so Leo took her hand and lead her to the dance floor.

"Dance with me" He said twirling her.

"Wow, it wasn't even a question" She giggled softly while putting one of her hands in his left shoulder and the other in his right hand and they started to dance the beautiful waltz chatting softly.

After the song ends they leave the dance floor, he went to get two glasses of champagne and she went to the bathroom. Once she was ready to return, Katie found herself face to face with Madeline.

"I wish I could say the same of you, Madeline, but your personality ruins everything you wear" She was almost in the door.

"Funny, Leo liked my underwear after his proposal to you" She said with a mischievous grimace.

"What?" Her heart aching painfully.

"Oh shoot! You didn't know?" Madeline said walking toward her. "Yeah, we hook up in the palace when you returned to the ship" She looked her. "Poor Katie! It's crying!" She took the door handle. "My bad. Toodles!" And she left.

It couldn't be. Leo would never do that, the day before he had proposed to her in an amazingly way, they had made love, he promised her return to the ship as soon as he could. "Why you didn't tell me you hooked with Madeline? We weren't officially engagement yet, you didn't needed to lie" She said drying some tears.

Fun fact, I showed him that passage when we were teens, Bastian must be so happy about it" She giggled from his shoulder. He stand up and offered his hand to her, she took it and he helped her. "I would love that" and he took her hand, intertwining their fingers. They started walking towards a side door, less crowded, when Madeline crossed their path.

"You have mascara in your cheek, Kat" Katie blushed and her eyes looked at the floor while she tried to clean up her makeup. Leo couldn't take it. He grabbed Madeline's arm with his free hand and make her face him.

"Listen to me, and listen to me well Maddie." His face, normally with a hussy half smile, was twisted with rage and his eyes coldest than never. "If you ever again even look at Katie in a way she doesn't feel comfortable or I don't like it, I would make Liam kick your ass out of here. "And call Jess. I love her but thank god Blake is with her."

They stand up and he helped her with the dress, kissing her nape. She turned through him and hugged him by the neck one last time before take his hand, intertwining their fingers together and started walking to the palace.

Three Dark Christmas’ ~ Day 20

Day 20 - Katharine x Emilia

The harbour was stormy out of the window in Bastian. It called to her. And obviously her companion felt that call too.

Emilia Vatros was sitting on the stone wall in the harbour, letting the lashing rain and gale force wind wash over her. Katharine knew she would have a cold next week that she would fight like the angry champion she was, but she wished her friend, her… girlfriend would look after herself better than Emilia did.

What made Kat move from her bed was the look of Emilia… yelling at the storm, like she wanted to fight it.

To be honest, Katharine wasn’t sure she wouldn’t.

That in mind, Katharine slid off her bed and stretched her lanky joints, pulling a thick leather water proof jacket over her sweater. She pulled on her rainboots and made her way down the stairs to the manors doors and out into the storm towards where Emilia was indeed yelling at the storm.

Ignoring the way the harsh wind and rain called to her, she hurried over to Emilia with her head ducked down, trying not to slip on the cobblestone.

It was lucky warriors like herself liked pain, because smacking her tailbone and ribs on the cobblestones of Bastian was painful, to say the least. Probably going to leave some bruising later that (if she could pluck up the courage) she could ask Emilia to kiss better. But the sight of her falling had Emilia bolting over, with no care for the same defeater of Katharine, and she too slipped on the stones, sliding until she slammed into her girlfriend with a groan.

When Emilia kisses her, it is usually with enough fire to light up Bastian City, Sunpool and Wolf Spring combined but that night it was soft and gentle and what Kat needed.

“You shouldn’t have come out to get me, Kitty Kat, I was perfectly fine in the rain. And now you’re all banged up. I worry about how clumsy you are, y’know? You could have really done some damage,” Emilia whispers worriedly. She is right, Kat is clumsy and injures herself constantly but she’s okay, she always has Emilia to look after her.

Kat kissed a bruise on Emilia’s jaw in a comforting motion and ran her dainty finger up Emilia’s side.

“You shouldn’t have been out in the storm for so long. I worry about you too, Mili, and I worry that you are taking every opportunity to get sick or hurt,” Emilia watches her thoughtfully before kissing her forehead and pulling her closer into her arms.

“I’ll be fine and you know it. And it doesn’t matter if I get hurt, unlike you. It’s my job to teach and protect you and making sure you don’t get all bruised is part of that… so next time I’m shouting at the rain, please don’t come and get me if it means you’ll slip on the ground, okay?”

“Okay… will you stay with me tonight?”

“As you wish, Kitty Kat.”
