Last night, the Nita Mukesh Ambani Cultural Centre (NMACC) celebrated its grand opening in Mumbai, attracting the biggest names in fashion and film. Below is a list of the evening’s most stylish celebrities. 

Alia Bhatt :

Alia Bhatt dazzled in a custom-made Vaishali S sari, showcasing a unique pleated structure and pre-draped silhouette. Paired with a heavily adorned bustier, she accessorized with a floral-embroidered haath bandh, choker necklace, diamond earrings, bracelets, and statement rings. With her hair in a center-parted bun and minimal makeup, her outfit was a true standout. 

Shah Rukh Khan:

Shah Rukh Khan was impressed with his pinstripe blazer, complete with padded shoulders, a black top, and slim-fitted pants. Complementing his look with a luxurious watch, gold chain, and bracelets, he sported a sleek updo. 

Deepika Padukone & Ranveer Singh:

Both lovely couples dressed to complement one another. Deepika donned an embellished jacket, palazzo pants, and a cape jacket with a floor-length train, while Ranveer wore a pearl white sherwani featuring an asymmetrical hemline. 

Priyanka Chopra & Nick Jonas:

Sari - the most Elegant piece of clothing in Indian wear

When I was around 5-6 I had a Coral/Peach coloured Modern Gharara and I was extremely fond of that, a lot of people would tell me, “Aapka dress bilkul Kareena Kapoor jaisa hai from Kabhi Khushi Kabhi Gham” she was actually wearing a Pant set, it had an embellished pair of wide legged palazzos & a cropped top with a stylish stole-dupatta and I had something exactly like that in the same shade, it wasn’t a full on Gharara, it was again in the same style, as in a pair of peach coloured embellished pants and a cropped top with zari work along with a small dupatta… ever since then “Coral” or Peach has been my favourite colour. Kareena Kapoor Khan has always kept the young girl in her alive, that’s how she even maintains that youthful charm, she is still full of friskiness and vivacity. I saw her leaving the car and heading towards the paparazzi to strike a pose and I was like, she knows we would want to see what she’s wearing & that’s so cute…

Coming back to my article, as a grown up I always wanted to wear an Organza sari especially when that fabric was back in trend so I obviously thought of my “dream sari” and Kareena wore something similar for her bro’s wedding, it was very beautiful, she had paired it with a vintage looking (almost slightly Burlesque) kundan necklace/choker with pearl drops, a matching maang tika & earrings and a potli bag, the sari was designed by Manish Malhotra, it featured a beautiful embellished border in pale gold embroidery, it had beautiful roses to go with the pastel pink shade. As a bride, Alia was wearing a Sari too but with a bigger pallu, Sabyasachi had given her a fuller tissue organza/metallic foil pallo to create a bridal veil for her and it had a scalloped border which is very in nowadays, it’s something I like a lot, who doesn’t? There were a series of images which were clicked when they came out and the whole embroidery was dazzling in all the lights and fanfare, so there are a few photos which have a slightly surrealistic look where all the sparkle is clashing with the flashes and it’s creating a very dreamy “blurry effect” and if I would’ve been her I would have probably framed one of those photos, it would’ve been one of the most cherished memories in my album.

Since I’m not well, I’ll be cutting it short, so whatever I had picked for my casual looking sharara, well… I had to return it back because like I said they are cheating a lot these days, they sent me an off white & maroon coloured Kurti (with chaddar kinda checks :/) instead of the pink silk Kurti which I’d chosen and the palazzos are also very cheap, the fabric is very bad, I’m much more happier with the dupattas cuz I’ve always liked that style but I had to return everything… I told myself this is the last time I’m getting cheated, be it W or Soch, all these small brands have started using false images to attract customers, what they are sending is completely different and bizarre. I had W & their money back in my account so I got something else, that too from a proper designer brand this time… it’s a lot like Kareena’s Sari, it was on discount and I had an additional 12% coupon… I had picked two different saris and I saw a third one which was again very beautiful (in Organza) but the colour was very dull, it was Khaki green, the pallu had a little bit of embellishment but it was very dark for my age and it was also quite plain, there was more zari work on the pallu so it resembled my dupattas and oadhnis a lot more than a Sari… it wasn’t something you would wear for festive occasions, it wasn’t that beautiful… and it was from a different platform/brand, the price which they had quoted was 32,450/- I had also picked a Lilac one but I recently got my Eid outfit in an aubergine shade so I wasn’t that excited about the colour, secondly it had extremely small sequins and pearls along the scallops, so it was lightly embroidered (big scallops btw which are too common) it was quite simple… and it was for 40,100/- after discount which isn’t bad because they’d used a very rich looking Silk Organza fabric. I didn’t like the blouse though :/ and you do get a lot of better stuff in that much price, if you’ll probably add 5-8k more, you’ll get something far better. It’s beautiful but at the same time, it’s a bit basic.

The one which I eventually got is a lot like Kareena’s because as I said, I had something similar in mind, you know like minds think alike. They are both in Organza and I might get a different blouse to draw all the the focus on the border, not that I don’t like my raw silk blouse but I think I’ll try something different… her sari has a beautiful pearlescent pink shade, mine is more of peach… it’s more of a light peachy coral, next, she has beautiful roses in pale gold embroidery, mine has a slim border which they’ve balanced out with butti work throughout the fall, my border has some zari work in gold or pale gold (according to their description)

See the roses are not that prominent but there is a floral embroidery near the edges and he has added bigger sequins or coin work on the main pallu… I love the Pearlescent Pink colour like I said, it was perfect for the Pastel themed wedding, besides she & KJO were the only ones who were sticking to it 🤦🏻‍♀️ it’s okay this happens in every house

Here’s mine, it’s more simple but I love the shade and overall look, it’s like that typical vintage coral colour which in my opinion looks very elegant and “fancy”

The product will get shipped in the first week of June, let’s say if I find someone & I’m broke and I still want to get married, I can at least wear this for a court marriage… otherwise I hardly have any options in traditional wear lol, I have just started buying them, I haven’t left my house since 2017 (before the pandemic started) so I’ve missed out a lot on life. For those of you who are curious, it was for 27,500/- after discount but I got it for around 24,500/- or so with coupon.

I wasn’t actually planning to buy a sari but it caught my eye because it resembled what I wanted so I thought I’ll buy it before it goes out of stock…

Ranbir Kapoor-Alia Bhatt wedding - Talk of the Town

Alia Bhatt tied the knot with Ranbir Kapoor on Thursday - 14th April 2022 in Mumbai at Ranbir's Pali Hill residence which was the Vastu-based venue for the wedding. The wedding was attended by Neetu Kapoor, Riddhima Kapoor Sahni, Shaheen Bhatt, Soni Razdan, Rahul Bhatt,, Mahesh Bhatt, Pooja Bhatt, Kareena Khan, Saif Ali Khan, Karisma Kapoor, Karan Johar. Akash Ambani, Sweta Bachchan, and many other big names of the film industry, as well as celebrities, also joined the ceremony amidst the wedding dance.

The couple held their pre-wedding Bollywood Sangeet ceremonies on Wednesday. Ranbir hosted the Mehendi ceremony and Haldi ceremonies at Pali Hill home. The rituals were attended by Karan Johar, Karisma Kapoor, and Kareena Kapoor Khan. Neetu Kapoor, Riddhima Kapoor Sahni, and Karan Johar. They complement each other very well and are amazing together.

Alia Bhatt's veil grabbed everyone’s attention as it was made by a well-known fashion designer. It had a message on it that stated the date of the wedding, "The fourteenth April 2022."

Alia wore an ivory organza sari hand-dyed with fine tilla work and a handwoven tissue veil. It was paired with traditional Jewellery, which has uncut diamonds and hand-strung pearls. Uncut diamond earrings and a necklace were worn by Alia. Both her hands were covered in bangles, and Mehendi. Alia's mangalsutra had black beads and a golden chain. A teardrop-shaped diamond pendant was also included with the infinity symbol. 

Ranbir Kapoor wore an embroider-white silk sherwani made with uncut diamond buttons and silk organza, as well as a silk sofa and scarf.
