Meet Melvin - Kapands Corner Challenge !

The great Kapands challenged us to create sims for the new dating app Cupid's Corner. The challenge was all of august with a theme for each days. It was mostly about creating sims and a little backstory for your own game. Fill your map with PNJ you know the traits, personality and history can definitely be a game changer !

For Melvin as my day 10 - Friend zone, I wanted to tackle a very taboo subject such as disability and all the impact it has on one's life. It can be challenging for people with a disability to be seen outside of it, and yet there is this ambiguous moment where nobody wants to talk about it. Ea has implemented few accessories in CAS to include PRM in game but yet there is no "in game fonctionality" with the new objects. Yes there are Cochlear Implants but yet no hearing disability in game. Thankfully sims 4 community has with mods and CC implemented some PRM fonctionalities which is great for representation.

For Melvin's story, and to have a realistic gameplay, the wheelchair option was not going to work out, unfortunately. Imagine this PNJ who is supposed to be in a wheelchair pop up on a lot standing. It's just not RP. So I found a consolation with prosthetics CC, I talked about it in my previous post ! I know it doesn't work if you want your sim to be paraplegic...but it worked for my storyline. Alright, enough rambling, read his backstory 👇🏼

Melvin Kastavros in his friends group has always been the good friend who to laugh with. But his friends were often embarrassed discussing their love life in front of him. Well, he was not like everyone else. With his wheelchair that no one could ignore, everybody dodged the subject of his disability. And mostly all of the social issues that came with it.

Yes with girls it was... complicated to be seen other than as a good friend. And he hated it. Because he wanted what others had. A normal life. Sentimental experiences, hook-ups, a girlfriend.

In his group of friends, he always liked Annika. She was bubbly, funny and really pretty . Actually, he always liked her more than a friend. But he was too shy or too self aware of his disability to confess his crush to her. He was convinced that she only saw him as a friend.

During his first uni semester, he met a new group of friends with whom he had dared to talk about all of this. His disability, his involuntary bachelorhood. Then his new friends spoke to him about this new app. Cupid's Corner. He absolutely had to subscribe ! He regained so much confidence with this simple talk, he created his profile that same evening ! If for his new friends there were no taboo, maybe girls on this app would see him other than a good friend ?

Meet Holly - Kapands Corner Challenge !

Holly is my day 12/19 - Adventurous - Loves Outdoor for this challenge.

"Who travel the world to go to every music festivals known ? The WellFest, The Llamapalooza, The Ciudadchella ? It's Holly Stick (yes pun intended) !

Holly doesn't know how to stay in one place. And she doesn't know how to stay between four walls even less ! As soon as she can, she jumps in a car heading... well, she do not know ! Where the wind takes her. If you like joyfull, adventurous, found of nature and music girls, it's on Cupid's Corner that you'll find her. But, be carefull, she clearly can't be like a bird caged. Holly likes to have fun, wander, and meet a bunch of new sims."

💜 Now that you know Melvin's story and Hollys, what do you think of them in My Frolic Love Pose Pack shots ? I really love how they matched because frolicking is definitely a Holly thing. She was genuine and cute with him. She reminds me of a friend I have who is enjoying simple things in life, and connects to people easily with no ulterior motives than just to know them. Melvin will propably not end up with her long term because I play RP, but they definitely felt safe together during that date !

Challenge #KAPANDS CORNER

Day twenty two : not over my ex

For Max, his heart is already set and has been for many years. The problem? His true love, the one with the big A, left him two years ago, after a 6-year relationship. But her ex has moved on. A great careerist, she continues her life on her own. Max sometimes walks past her gallery, thinking that one day he'll walk through the door (fortunately for her, he never does). So when he hears about this dating app, he figures why not try to meet someone. Even though he knows he's probably wasting his time, no one's ever going to match his ex's level, let's be honest! Let's just hope Max is polite enough to talk about something other than her during his dates…

If you follow a bit my version of this challenge, you guessed it, his ex is Surya, from day four : attractive ! I know a lot of Sims are linked to her, but I mean, for a attractive woman, it make sens ?

I'm actually thinking about playing with almost every Sims of this challenge, so that's also a reason 👀 I imagine quite some drama with Surya, Camélia, Zach and Max !
