love kitty
x gender neutral reader.
wc: 486
cw: yandere x yandere, stockholm syndrome, obsession, codependency themes, references of being caged, directly based on love cat and love kitty
author notes: hii i love biz's songs too much.. lowkey proud of my loveit? prompt so i made a love kitty one :3 happy reading ! not beta read, scroll if uncomfy <3
âiâm so happy to see you come home, your highness! welcome back, dear [name]~â
your beloved love cat who is always eager to wait for you to come home to your shared abode- offers you your âmeowâ in exchange for the love he oh so craves from you. after all, this codependency you share, it's inescapable.
he was a bad, naughty kitty at first, seeking affection from others when you're right there for him! at least, he has learned his lesson right? he is now collared to you, anyway. sure he was a bit... confused at your actions at first? terrified? no one knows. he's a dear, fickle cat that doesn't know the true meaning of love, but that's alright, you're here to teach him.
ârunning off's fine, but back home's so scaryâ
he would avoid the moments that you give him your twisted love at first. it was suffocating, intoxicating. as if you both are playing a staring contest, so manic that both of you would lose to each other in this game of lamenting captivity.
third timeâs the charm, thatâs what they say. itâs like he is now hypnotized by you, youâre invading his mind and heart in no time! why wonât you go away? is it because he was trying to spend time with someone else? he knows you would not let him, crazed feline eyes with irises having a slit. putting a collar on him, you have branded him as yours.
he would try to fight you back at first, but he becomes more domesticated, as time goes on. heâs slowly falling for it all, consuming sin and punishment, whispering love to each other.
âeven if you turn away, it's still alright. you are my very own "love cat", that's that.â
he has learned to love you unconditionally. your very own love cat, who is encaged with you for eternity.
"please love me, hey."
"i'm scared, can't step out of the cage anymore."
maybe he would also leave a mark on you as you left yours on his! let him have a bite, maybe? he's willing to bare his fangs. the more this goes on, the more twisted this love gets, and you are both hungry for it. he was insatiable when it comes to your affection, like a cat that is needy of its ownerâs attention.
he cannot stand to live without you- he needs you too much to the point that his life now depends on you. like a clumsy love cat, he wants you so much, too much that it's getting ridiculous. you haven't seen any other guys worthy of being your 'pet cat', right? good, he gladly plays that role for you without hesitation, anyway. because if so, he won't hesitate to draw his claws out to eliminate them.
after all, both of you are in too deep in to the pit of hell that is called love.

Kaoru commenting Adonis running again in new winter lines:
"I had to take a second look when I saw Adonis-kun running in short sleeves. I guess cold doesn't bother him when he's exercising."
#previously he saw adonis and mitsuru running in autumn and said their noses were red#i imagine kaoru sitting comfortably inside with hot drink and watching these madlads run in the cold xD#ensemble stars#kaoru hakaze#adonis otogari

hihi hello!! i just found ur blog and i really enjoy your writing <3 can i request kaoru and rei with an s/o who's scared of thunder and lightning? tysm!! pls take your time and have a good day/night ^^
a/n: im sorry this took so longđ„Č i literally started this the next day you sent the request but i got sick and i was so busy all week i couldn't finish it. this is kind of a scenerio?? but also headcanons? idk but i hope you enjoy it đâ€ïž
|| Kaoru and Rei With a S/O Who's Scared of Thunder â â
âș Rei Sakuma
now, imagine: you're in rei's house, in a dark gothic room. it's filled with big bookshelves, and ornate chandeliers are hanging from the high ceiling. you're sitting on the dark-coloured couch, trying to warm yourself in front of the large fireplace with a cozy fire crackling in the hearth.
as you're sitting there alone, waiting for your claimed-to-be-a-vampire boyfriend to come and bring you a cup of coffee, you see a lightning strike through the window, followed by a big loud thunder.
a little scream comes out of your mouth, while the rain starts to pour heavily. you call out rei's name, but can't hear his answer because of the storm that just started.
you try to comfort yourself by wrapping your body with a blanket, but as the thunder gets louder and the rain gets heavier, the lights in the room start flickering.
with the fear surrounding your body, you feel a hand reaching to your shoulder, just about to touch you.
right before you let out yet another scream, you turn your face around just to see your dear boyfriend, smiling at you.
"oh my dear, are you afraid? sorry to keep you waiting, but i am here now. there is nothing to be scared of."
seeing rei's face already gives you comfort. he slowly sits near you, wrapping his arms around your body. you put your head on his chest, letting him gently stroke your head.
feeling his touch gives you a sense of warmth and protection. rei feels so safe to be around. you feel like the storm outside can't reach you, can't hurt you.
whenever a situation like this happens, rei usually prefers cuddling with you until the storm ends. while he hugs you tightly, he likes to chat. perhaps about your fear, so he can help you overcome it but if his beloved one doesn't want to talk about it, then that's fine. he still finds a way to make you feel comfortable.
no matter what he talks about or what he says, hearing his beautiful, soothing voice is enough for your fears to vanish away.
âș Kaoru Hakaze
this time, you are both going on a walk outside, having a date. kaoru kindly holds your hand and listens to you telling him all about your day. the way he looks at you... the warmth of his gaze is enough to see how much he is in love with you.
in fact, he is so in love that he didn't even see the dark clouds coming your way in the sky.
while you guys keep walking, you feel your hair getting wet. you look at kaoru, he looks at you.
and you hear a big loud thunder.
you frightenedly jump at kaoru, hugging him so tightly that he doesn't know if he got scared because of the thunder or you.
he quickly takes off his jacket, holding it up above your head so the rain won't affect you. you both run to the nearest indoor area and start waiting for the thunderstorm to cease.
while kaoru apologises countless times for his mistake, -not checking the weather before taking you out on a date- you look at him, very disappointedly, and start to walk away. leaving him just standing there đ§
and thaaaaaat's what kaoru was afraid you would do, but of course you didn't ^^
whenever you both run into a storm, kaoru knows you're afraid so he tries to distract you in the best way possible. he takes out his headphones so maybe you can calm down listening to music. or he sings to you, a calming melody or a song you enjoy. anything to make you feel okay.
he holds you close, giving you a gentle kiss on the lips. "don't worry" he says, "i am here with you."
kaoru is a loving, affectionate boyfriend. he wants you to feel safe with him, he wants you to know that you're loved and he won't ever leave your side.

Flashback | PSYCHOBREAK 13
Writer: Akira (æ„æ„æ„)
Characters: Koga, Adonis, Rei, Kaoru
Kaoru: Yeah, okay, whatever. If youâre not feeling it you can just go home, yâknow!? Rei: Ahaha. Youâre sexy when youâre angry, Hakaze-kun. Sorry, my bad~ Did I accidentally say somethinâ inappropriate again?
[ For the best viewing experience, please read directly on my blog! âȘ ]
Koga: (Woah, that Playboyâs vibe completely changed all of a sudden! Up âtil a moment ago he was limp as a fizzled-out soda, but now!)
Koga: (Now heâs movinâ with the kind of passion he was totally lackinâ durinâ practice! Heâs putting his whole heart nâ soul into it! Thatâs it, thatâs how it should be!) (I'm still in the middle of practicinâ that aspect myself, but...! I don't wanna try nâ excuse myself later by claiminâ âI didnât have enough time to prepare,â or âIâm not talented enough!â) (So, right now, all I can do is give it my all!) ââȘ~âȘ~âȘâ
Adonis: (Hakaze-senpai, Oogami⊠Incredible. Itâs as though damp gunpowder suddenly managed to ignite.) (Why now? Is it thanks to Sakuma-senpai? Did seeing him reassure them, causing unnecessary tension to dissipate?)
Adonis: (I donât understand the logic, but⊠Iâ I also need to do my best.) (I have to learn from these peopleâ from my friends. (I have to do my best for the sake of the people who were willing to accept a foreigner like me, even if it was just by chance!) ââȘ~âȘ~âȘâ
Rei: (Ahaha. Thanks to my meaningless provocation, it seems theyâve finally steeled their resolve.) (All their unnecessary worries have been blown away, their thoughts focused solely on anger towards meâŠor somethinâ like that.) (With no unnecessary distractions, their brains can devote all their energy towards movinâ their bodies.) (And even though you guys ainât quite ripe juuust yetâŠyouâre still harborinâ the greatest of potentials.) (Let it explode. Let it blossom in a brilliant display.) (That way, ya wonât need to rely on my support. Ya wonât lose to anyone.) (Especially not to those âvampiresâ who always skipped classes just tâ goof off.) (Dream Festivals are sâposed to be live showdowns, but this oneâs just a ceremonial rite.)
Rei: (UNDEAD will gloriously defeat the unskilled, talentless âvampires,â whoâve got nothing goinâ for âem save sheer numbers.) (The outcome of the battle has already been decided before it even begins, cause thatâs how this story goes.) (And the one who wrote the story is none other than bouzu. As a result of this little performance, heâll gain prestige due to subjugatinâ the delinquentsâŠand the student councilâll subsequently grow in power.) (This whole thingâs just a stepping stone on his way to increasinâ the student councilâs influence. Haha, seems he still managed ta use me as a pawn after all.) (Ah, well. That aside, I was kinda worried at first, but at this rate⊠Unless somethinâ goes seriously wrong, thereâs no way weâll lose. The outcome is certain.) (Itâs our, UNDEADâs, victory.) (Though to be honest, it ainât like those âvampiresâ are gonna bother showinâ up for a live showdown anyway~ This match â Flashback â is gonna end with UNDEAD winninâ by default.) (âSpecially when ya take into account the fact one aâ the people theyâre gonna be up against is lilâ olâ me â the guy they worship. They wouldnât dare challenge a god.) (They wonât fight, or participate in any way. Theyâre gonna be no-shows.)
Rei: (Why? Cause those âvampiresâ lack any sense aâ danger.) (They donât worry about the future at all, so thereâs no way they can imagine whatâll happen if they donât set foot on this stage.) (If they were capable of thinkinâ ahead like that, they wouldnât waste their precious time on this Earth playinâ at beinâ delinquents.) (Even now, theyâre probably whilinâ their time away like usual, not feelinâ even a little bit anxious. Hell, they might even be laughinâ at the fact we challenged âem to a match.) (Whenever anythinâ happens, they laugh it off, treatinâ eeeverythinâ as a joke.)
Rei: (But soon enough, they wonât find it funny anymore.) (My condolences. Itâll be too late for regrets once youâre already adults, ya utter buffoons.) (This is the turning point.) (Youâve chosen the wrong path.) (Sorry, but Iâve got no sympathy for ya⊠Unlike bouzu, ya didnât even try to fight. Despite sayinâ you admired me, ya just avoided me.) (Even though ya claimed to love me, the ones ya loved most were yourselves.) (So ya chose the easiest, least painful path.) (Ya pretended not to see me nâ ran away, veerinâ off the road nâ outta my sight.)
Rei: (Even though the path ya chose leads nowhere. Itâll collapse beneath your feet, sendinâ ya straight to hell.) (But, even knowinâ that⊠As I am now, I havenât got the energy tâ so much as think about reachinâ out to help pull up a buncha strangers.) (Apologies, but I canât save ya.)
Rei: âŠAaalright~ Iâve found âthe thing I wanted to find,â so lilâ olâ me is finally gonna take the stage~âȘ
Kaoru: No, itâs totally whatever! I mean, even if you did, I donât owe you any explanations, right!?
Rei: Yup. Well, I sâpose this is fine. We can take our time gettinâ to know each other. Whether by chance or by design, weâre coworkers now, so thereâll be plenty aâ chances for that in the future. Thatâs right. Fortunately, thereâs still time. We're still young, after all. ââȘ~âȘ~âȘâ

Rei: Donât you find it strange? Violent words and violence itself is flung at me every time I talk to him. Do Ritsu and I not love each other deeply?
Kouga: Ugh~ Who knows. Just ask Ricchi yourself. Anyway, Iâm tired of hearinâ about him already.
Kaoru: I think heâs talked about him for two hours already.
Rei: Hm? I wouldnât have any issues talking about the love I have for my dear brother for twenty-four hours, though?
Kouga: Ugh~ thatâs even worse. Donât. When Ricchiâs not happy about you, he takes out his stress on me.
Rei: Kouga, I see youâve now gotten close to him to the point you can freely complain about him.
Adonis: âŠIâm back.
Kaoru: Ah, welcome back, Adonis-kun~
Kouga: Oh, hey, youâre back. How was it? Did you manage to pull it off?
Adonis: Yeah. Itâll be fine now. I think I was able to do it.
Iâm truly sorry. This was originally supposed to be my own battle, but I got you all involved. Iâm overwhelmed with contrition.
Kouga: I know youâve been studying lately, but stop usinâ words that even I donât know the meaninâ of.
Iâm worried I might not be able to understand ya properly.
Adonis: Itâs okay. Weâre always on the same wavelength. The words may be different, but the meaning is the same.
But I did fail in the plan we came up with. I couldnât get Urania to hate me.
Kaoru: (Yeah, we were watching, so we know.)
Adonis: So I decided to use another plan. I told Urania everything.
Kouga: Huuuh!? You sure that was a good idea?
You said there might be diplomatic issues if she got angry, right?
Didnât you say youâd only tell her in the worst-case scenario?
Adonis: Yeah. But I decided it would be appropriate.
And I couldnât continue to deceive Urania any longer.
Kaoru: Well, she did look at you with such innocent eyes~ I get what youâre saying.
Adonis: ? Hakaze-senpai, you know Urania?
Kaoru: Huh? Uhh, I mean, I imagine thatâs what sheâd be like. She believed you proposed to her when you guys were kids, so she must be pretty innocent~!
Rei: And then what happened? Tell us honestly. What did Urania-chan say? Was she angry? Or sad?
Adonis: No, she wasnât sad or angry.
She listened carefully to what I said.
After I finished speaking, she smiled quietly and said she would be looking forward to âUNDEADâsâ concert. She also said sheâd love to see me perform.
We reminisced after a while and then she went home.
Rei: Is that so?
Kouga: Huh? Then we donât know if she really understood or not.
Rei: (No, Iâm sure Urania-chan understood.)
(Otherwise, she wouldnât have made such a face. From her side profile, I could see something quiet but resolute from her expression.)
(Maybe she noticed something was wrong early on.)
(Maybe she realised that there was something off about the one-sided proposal that was made when they were kids.)
Kouga: Will it really be okay for us to go through with the concert? There ainât a lotta time before it.
Adonis: Itâll be fine, Oogami.
Iâm sure Urania came to Japan on her own to say goodbye quietly.
She has always been a clever and strong person.
Kouga: That so? Well, if you say so then.
Alrighty, time to get fired up for our new concert!
Letâs show Urania a great performance and make her say somethinâ like, âOn second thought, Iâm taking Adonis-sama back with me.â
Adonis: Yeah. Iâd like her to see my idol side.

Kaoru: âAh, hey. Donât jump out all of a sudden like that.â
âOur new song this time around is a love song, you know?â
Kouga: âHuh? A love song? This sorta thing is perfect for us demons!â
Kouga & Kaoru: ââȘ~âȘ~â
Adonis: ââȘ~âȘ~âȘâ
(Where is Urania)
(Ah, sheâs sitting over there. It looks like sheâs enjoying the concert. Iâm glad.)
(Iâm sorry. Iâm sure I must have hurt you so muchâŠ)
(I didnât understand a thing back then. I didnât know what pain and fears Urania had from a young age. But I think Iâve come to understand a bit now.)
Adonis: (So Iâll sing. Iâll sing and dance with everything I have.)
(Iâll sing of âloveâ through songs â just like my mother did.)
(Iâm still inexperienced, just like the moment you met me for the first time, but with the support of my companions⊠No, I want to fight in my own way â right here as we support one another.)
(In my eyes, thatâs how I can repay all the kind-hearted people around the world who have showered me with âloveâ)
Rei: ââȘ~âȘ~â
(I can feel that Adonis-kun is singing with so much âloveâ.)
(How wonderful. Itâs sweet, pure, mellow and warm.)
(But thatâs also why itâs poisonous.)
(A âloveâ thatâs too strong will eventually eat away at you. Now, I wonder if Adonis-kun has realised that.)
(Love for mankind and affection are similar but different.)
(Itâs because you came all âthis wayâ on your own that Iâm worried for you.)
(The path you intend to walk on is a path of thorns.)
(Adonis-kunâs mother only bestowed upon him one thing: a tender âloveâ only intended for Adonis-kun to receive.)
(I sincerely hope that that wonât tie Adonis-kun down.)
Rei: (No. As his elder, I should act like his older brother and watch over him.)
(After all, âloveâ should be tender and full of warmth.)

Bridal - Chapter 1
[ View on site for better experienceâȘ ]
Location: 3-A Classroom
Eichi: Hey, Hakaze-kun. You were more diligent in class this morning.
Kaoru: Ah, yeah. If I slack off too much, Megane-kun would just lecture me again. It's a pain to sit through that.
But, did you need me for something Tenshouin-kun?
Eichi: Ah, no not entirely, I just wanted to give my thanks again for bringing me to the arcade [1] the other day. It was a delightful and rewarding experience.
Kaoru: You didn't have to thank me or anything~. You're surprisingly diligent with these types of things huh, Tenshouin-kun?
Also, if you don't have anything else to say to me, could I go now?
I wanted to stop downtown. There's always some new girls that I'm willing to meet âȘ
Eichi: You never seem to falter in that aspect. Well anyways, do you remember when I told you I always make sure to repay my debts quickly?[2]
Kaoru: Hm? Ah, yeah I do remember you saying something like that... Itâs really fine, I was free at the time and didnât have any jobs or anything, so...
Plus, I got to play together with Anzu-chan, and she was really kind to me.
Eichi: Wait a second, let me finish what I was going to say.
I recently received a request for someone to do a gravure shoot. I thought about it and decided to entrust you with this job.
Itâs a gravure bridal photoshoot, and you would have to wear a tuxedo... Does that sound good so far?
Kaoru: Bridal...?
Eichi: Ah, you wouldn't have to worry about the requester. They are a trusted source of ours. As soon as you say the word, I can be in contact with them.
Kaoru: No thatâs not it⊠Well, I havenât had much experience with gravure shoots, so there may be trouble down the line. Sorry, but could I decline?
Eichi: Fufu, youâre rather impatient.
Like I said before, wait until I finish speaking.
Location: Hallway
Kaoru: (Ugh~ Tenshouin-kun had me beat this time.)
(No matter how much I tried to refuse, he basically gave me no room left to argue so I had no choice but to take the job....)
...Nn?
Oh! Hi, hi Anzu-chan! Iâm really glad to see you~ âȘ
Youâre on your way to the studio, arenât you, Anzu-chan? Tenshouin-kun asked you to work on the gravure photoshoot right? I heard about it~âȘ
(Fufu~n. Tenshouin-kun really goes all out to pay back his debts, doesnât he~? To plan all of this for something so small...)
(Well, itâs a rare chance to get something like this, so Iâll use it to my advantage~âȘ)
Hey hey, yâknow when we walk side by side like this, we sorta look like a couple right?
Mhm, I know~. Anzu-chan is just doing her job, so it canât be helped right?
But, Iâm really happy. âCuz, Anzu-chan always runs away whenever I try to talk to her.
Ah, wait sorry, I didnât want to make you feel bad or anything.
After all, Iâd much rather be liked by a girl instead of being hated. Hmm? But Iâm fine with being hated by guys?
Well, itâs not like I particularly like guys. In fact, itâs mainly the opposite.
But well, itâs really thanks to Tenshouin-kun for giving me a scenario like this, so. âȘ
Eh? Umm, nothing~ Just talking to myself...âȘ
Anyways, whatâs on the agenda today? Should we just hold a meeting between us?
Fufun. Being trapped in a private room, thereâs no way there wouldnât be sparks flying~ âȘ
Hmm? Anzu-chan, whyâd you start puffing your chest out?
Eh? You called over some helpers
You called them over because you knew I wasnât skilled in gravure photoshoots? O-Oh really~?
No, I donât have a problem with it~ Anzu-chan called them over because you were thinking of how to help me, right?
Thank you, Anzu-chan. Aah, I mightâve fallen more in love with you âȘ
Woah, donât run away~? Itâs okay, I wonât do anything to cause you any harm, okay?
Alright then, letâs go. It may be a little different from what I imagined, but Iâll do my best for your sake~âȘ

This is a reference to Wanted!!! Bridal actually takes place a week-ish after Wanted!!! and is directly tied to that story. So, I recommend reading that one first!
Here, Eichi says something along the lines of âremember when I said that I always repay my debts?â but, in the translation of Wanted!!! I read, Eichi says âIf you're going to show me around the arcade, I'll be in your debt, and my principle is to repay them quickly.â I thought it'd make more sense for Eichi to say he repays his debts quickly rather than just repaying them in general since heâs giving this to Kaoru like a week after the arcade visit. Plus, itâs just a silly reference to the first story!

Enstars ft. K.O 3an Guo [AU]
Since I watched K.O 3an Guo (Taiwanese drama | modern school life + wuxia blend) lately, I can't help but to imagine Ibara as Xiu/Liu Bei because I found both are kinda similar in terms of experience??????????
---
"Take cover! Raise the shield!"
Without any further ado, they raised the shields at Ibara's command as they began to form a circle to protect him and Kaoru. The dark magenta-haired young man clicked his tongue quietly in annoyance. "We've been ambushed."
"There are over 100 opponents, as well as 5 elites. Pretty much for an ambush." Kaoru commented as he squinted his light brown eyes.
Rinne looked over at Ibara as he held his shield firmly. "Ibara, I'm going out there to help out!"
"Rinne, calm down first. Let's plan before we make a move."
"Yes sir!"
Ibara glanced at Kaoru for a moment before reverting his gaze forward. "Hakaze, you and I will use our internal power to create a huge barrier to shield everybody. First, let's move over to the injured ones, then you raise your shields again. We check the extent of their injuries first. Hakaze and I will restore some of the internal power there. You guys continue to look for shelter."
Kaoru took a deep breath and focused himself in order to make a huge protective barrier with his powers. The barrier was enough to give the group some time to speedwalk over to their two injured friends. The magic bullets kept attacking them relentlessly. One of them almost fell down if Kaoru didn't holding him by the back.
Rinne seems to be at his limit, but he tried to fight that off. "Ibara, Hakaze, you two go first. Don't let us hold you back!"
"No. I and Saegusa will never abandon you guys," Kaoru retorted, before being continued by Ibara. "That's right. Let's fight together."
Ibara remained calm and composed at this time despite being ambushed by a warring school. Truly his experience in the military contributed much of the way his army operates even though his age contradicts it. To some people, his sang-froid side might disturbed them, but his friends remained unfazed.
"Everyone, our situation is very dire right now. I'm afraid I might not get the chance to say it. So I want to tell you all this... It is a great honour for me, Saegusa Ibara, to be able to fight shoulder-to-shoulder with you all."
Everyone responded to his words like well-trained soldiers. âSame here, Commander!â

Hello, Big Brother~! Pt.1
Hello wonderful people! It is I, Valora~! I have indeed returned from my grave with the intention to continue my little series called "Eccentric Family" as it seemed to... gain a lot of views, surprising enough. I thank you readers for all the attention it has been getting lately.
Though there is another part of the series coming soon, an online friend of mine had decided to perhaps do a request of her own. This story is honestly long over due, but I did it! Behold, part 1 of a request made by: @hornet05. Thankyou, my friend. This masterpiece is for you. And now, on to the story~! Enjoy!
Ah, love. They say it's the best feeling ever! There's even a whole day in the year that dedicates on its celebration. Everyone loved that day. I guess you can say it's a day most people took seriously. I suppose you were not most people. And I quote; "were".
Back when you were still in high school, the peak of secret admirers and constant love along with heartbreak, you never seemed to care about this stuff. In fact, when your friend asked if you would ever fall in love, you would constantly say no. The thing is, you never understood that feeling and imagining one day to feel like how others have described it just felt... like an untouchable dream.
Though all that didn't matter anymore when you met Rei during your first years in college. It was no love at first sight, but you did experience the small bud that soon blossomed into the feeling of love that everyone constantly gushed about. You were embarrassed to say it to your friends, though. You constantly denied it during high school. You couldn't just possibly say; "I might have a crush on someone even after I said I will never fall in love."
But still, all of the signs are there, and your friends had no problem putting the pieces together. Knowing that it'll hurt your pride to tell you straight fowardly, and know that there is no way you will take the first step, they took initiative to befriend Rei and set the two of you on a blind date.
To say you were pissed was an understatement. This was just straight-up embarrassing for you. One of your friends told you that Rei had simply asked them to eat together and said they could bring you and your other friends. But nope! They set it all up so that you two could have a small date together.
I won't get into details, sadly, that part is classified information. But what I can say is that it was an absolute disaster. You were a blushing, hot mess after that whole ordeal. But it worked nonetheless. He asked you out on a more literal date, and you accepted. From then on, both you and Rei are finally dating each other. Your friends couldn't be happier for you.
Though, as the days go by, you noticed how Rei usually declines your invitation to go on dates outside of college hours. Though you're not complaining, since Rei spends most of his free time with you anyway. Plus, the frequent study sessions you begged him to do. People often ask if you were truly fine with it, in which you answered yes. I mean, who cares about some date when you spend time with your boyfriend anyway, right? The point of a date was to have a moment just the two of you anyway. And that's what you two literally did almost every day. Besides, it made dates twice as special since he only takes you on a full on date on special occasions. But you're not gonna lie. You are currious on what he did after college that made him so busy. But then you did found out.
One day, Rei didn't come to college for the whole day. You tried looking for him, texted him, and called him even. But it didn't seem like he checked his phone the whole day. Then, you were suddenly approached by one of Rei's closest friends, Kaoru Hakaze, known to be the ultimate playboy on campus. How they became friends is kinda beyond you. But Kaoru told you that Rei was sick, that's why he didn't come that day.
Worried sick for your boyfriend, you demanded Kaoru to take you to Rei's house. Now, you might be thinking; "Y/n! You're Rei's girlfriend! How come you didn't know his address?!" Well, my friends, he simply didn't tell you. Why? Who knows? He just simply didn't tell you. In return, you didn't tell him your address, so it's kinda fair.
Anyway, Kaoru was honestly hesitant to, but you kept pestering him to submission. So the next thing you know, Kaoru is reluctantly guiding you to Rei's house. Once you both reached his door, Kaoru ran away with some lame excuse of having another date with some girl.
You were confused with his actions but shrugged it off. You faced the door and knocked on it. It took a while, but then the door opened, revealing 3 children behind the door. They all stared at you for a second before the pink haired one slammed the door shut to your face. It surprised you, but you were too focused on why there were children in the house.
After a few more minutes of waiting, the door opened again, revealing a man with shoulder-length brown hair. "Hello there! Sorry for Kohaku's actions. He didn't mean any harm!" The man smiled and ushered you inside. "Yes... hello, um... I'm Y/n, Rei's... girlfriend..." You explained. The man's eyes widened happily. "Ah! So you're the girl Rei has been happily talking about! I'm Madara Mikejima! I'm Rei's uncle. I don't live here, but I'm currently helping Rei take care of his siblings while he's sick." You eyed him quizzically.
"Siblings?" Madara looked at you before he sweat dropped. "Of course he didn't mention them to you... he never really mentions his siblings to anyone until they visit his house. But I'm sure you're here for Rei, right? His room is on the second floor, first door on the left." Madara said. You smiled at him. "Thank you, Mikejima-san." You bowed as a sign of gratitude. "Ah, no worries! And you can just call me Mama!" You looked at him confused again. "Mama...?" He just smiled sweetly before once again ushering you, but upstairs this time.
Following Madara's instructions, you manage to find the door. Honestly, it wasn't so hard, as the door had a nameplate with the word 'Rei' on it and a couple of bat decorations. Taking a deep breath, you knocked on the door. It took a while, but then you heard a raspy "Come in" from the other side of the door.
You slowly opened the door to reveal Rei laying in bed, a cloth on his forehead. Rei looked at you, and his eyes widened in surprise. "Y-Y/n...?" He tried to sit up, but you rushed towards him to lay him back down. Of course, you made sure to close the door first. "What are you doing here...?" He asked in disbelief. "I came here to check on you, dummy. When I heard you were sick I came rushing here." You explained, pouting a bit that he didn't tell you he was sick. Rei chuckled, and you pouted even more. "Hey! It's not funny, y'know! I came here worried sick for you!" You said angrily. Rei stopped laughing. "It's cute when you worry over me like that, you know?" You blushed because of his words. "S-shut up! It's normal for a girlfriend to worry about their boyfriend. And besides... who knows what you did the whole day. Maybe you ran away to cheat with some girl." You didn't really think that, of course. And Rei knew that. So he laughed even more. The mood then seemed lighter as the two of you laughed.
"So... about your siblings...." You start. Rei looked away guiltily. "I guess I should've told you this sooner. I have siblings I take care of myself. Mama sometimes come to help, but he also has two little sons of his own, so I don't usually bother him." You look at him solemnly. "What about... your parents...?" Rei sighed. "Both our parents got into an accident a year ago. I've been taking care of my siblings ever since." You both stayed silent for a while. That is until you hugged him tightly. "You don't have to hide that from me... do you feel ashamed for taking care of your siblings that you didn't want to tell anyone including me...?" Rei shook his head as he starts tearing up. "Somehow, the thought of you being disgusted by this repeatedly play in my head."
"For taking care of you siblings?! Of course not! You're just doing what you can! Trust me, ok? I'll help you this time. I'll help you take care of them. Whatever you need, ok? I have my own apartment here, you know. I don't really have plans. I only work on part-time jobs during sundays and mondays. So I'm free whenever. Just. Tell me when you need anything from now on, ok?" Rei nodded as he smiles. "Thankyou." You hugged him tightly once again then kissed him on the forehead. Then the two of you decided to cuddle up together.
A few hours had passed. It's now the afternoon, specifically dinner time. Someone stood in front of Rei's bedroom door, knocking on the hardwood. "Rei-nii? Wakey wakey~!" Another figure standing beside the first one nudged him. "Don't scream like that! We don't want to disturb Nii-san, ok?" He sighed. Then he opened the door slowly. The two peeked inside.
The two were quite shocked to see their oldest brother all snuggled up in bed with a woman they didn't know. Opening the door even further, the lught touches Rei's sensitive eyes. He slowly stirred before opening his eyes. The two figures stood there, frozen. Rei looked at the two figures and then sat up to see more clearly. Of course, I'm minding you so he won't accidently wake you up. "Shu? Kanata?" Rei asked once his eyes cleared up.
"Brother, Mama had told us to call you for dinner. Sorry to disturb your... ah... slumber..." The younger brother said. "Sorry Nii-san..." Rei shook his head. "No, it's fine. Every meal of the day is important, after all. You two go on head down, I'll catch up once I'm... sorry, i mean we are ready." The two looked at each other before nodding and slowly leaving the room, slowly closing the door too. Once the door clicked to a close, the two immediately ran down to the kitchen.
"Mama! You didn't tell us Nii-san has a girlfriend!" The eldest of the two shouted. "Be quiet...! We don't want for brother to hear...!" The younger scolded. "Ah, right. I forgot to tell you both. Your brother's girlfriend came over because she's worried about your sick brother! Isn't that sweet~?" Madara gushed. "Couldn't you tell us that before? We wouldn't have dared to even disturb if we knew." The younger grumbles. Honestly, the reason was because he cringes at the sight of lovey dovey things. Meanwhile, the older one started to gush at it with Madara.
Back to our two protags, they both had gotten themselves ready and were about to head down stairs. Though, to be honest, you were really nervous. I mean, who wouldn't? Meeting your partner's family is no measly thing. It's basically you convincing them that you can be a great partner to your significant other. Also, to get you aquainted before marriage.
Rei noticed this nervousness and grabbed your hand gently. "Nervous?" You nodded slowly. "Don't be. Everything is going to be alright." He gently pat your head with his free hand. You blushed under his touch. "But... first impressions are everything, isn't it? I don't look... presentable like this... just look at me. My hair is an absolute mess, I'm practically still in my uniform... even if I am wearing your shirt... and... what if I messed up? And... so they won't like me...?" You rambled. Rei heard every word. He grabbed your chin and closed you both in for a kiss. This relaxed you a bit. Feeling the warmth of Rei is always the best.
"Don't worry. They may be... odd... at times...-"
"Just like you?" You cut him off. He chuckles. "Yes. Just like me. But they are not bad people. Some may need more convincing than others, but I'm sure you'll do great. Besides, you look perfect just the way you are." You smiled at him, feeling a bit more courage within you. "So... You're a bad person?" You tease. Rei realised what he said. "Of course not. I may be a vampire, but I'm a nice vampire." You laugh at his comeback. Honestly, it's always funny to you how he thinks that he's a very old emo vampire when he's really not. He just has a condition that makes him not stand the sun that well, happen to have black hair, red eyes, and has pale skin. Just because of that doesn't make him a vampire, right? But nonetheless, it's one of his charms, so you're not complaining.
Upon reaching the dinner table, you were met with people who you hadn't met yet and the few people you met at the door just a few hours ago. Assuming they are all Rei's siblings, they were a lot. "Ah~! Y/n! Thanks for joining us tonight. I made Rei's favorite today, so please enjoy~." 'Mama' said to you. "No, no! I should be thanking you all for inviting me." You said nervously as you bowed your head. Rei then lead you to your seat, which was beside Rei.
Oh, boy. Cold stares hit you from left to right as you uncomfortably sat in your seat. Rei, knowing you very well, tried to give you a reasuring smile as he gently grasp your hand in his for comfort. Though you knew this will be a very long night.
What happened next? That's for me to know, and for you to find out~

just imagine kaoru trying his best to plan the perfect date for you two. heâs been so busy with idol work lately, he just wants to take you out on his day off and watch your face break out into that grin heâs always loved. youâd think a guy who literally sings about it would be able to do the best job ever at this, right? wrong, because this is kaoru hakaze weâre talking about.
the restaurant heâd wanted to book reservations for, the one he knew you liked so much? full for the next three days. teaching himself how to make valentineâs sweets for you in advance so that he can perfect it just in time? almost burned the kitchen down. maybe a walk in the park would be niceâwhat do you mean, itâs raining?! ugh, all he wants is to celebrate his partner! is that too much to ask?
kaoru doesnât want to put a damper on your mood while you two cuddle on the couch, but heâs never been nearly as good at hiding his emotions when it comes to you. itâs okay, thoughâjust tell him that spending time with him is enough, watch his breath hitch and his face burst into flames when you press that soft little kiss right against his jaw. kaoru canât help but squeak at the peck, caught off-guard and snapped out of his thoughts as he melts, melts, melts.
god, the way you smiled just now has him swooning.
âïž torture is the highlight of my cryptic career :3

I belong with the salt and the sea and the stones (Save them all for me)
Pairings: Kaoru Hakaze/Kanata Shinkai
Notes: Fantasy AU, Work in Progress, Inconsistent updates
Chapter 1/? Next
Word Count: 6,831
Summary: When they asked him about what he had been doing out there, he told them about a strange blue haired boy. The servant told him there was nobody who could fit that description, as blue hair wasnât natural and they were miles away from the nearest town. They told him it was probably just a figment of his imagination he came up with to help cope with the loss of his mother. Kaoru felt it deep in his bones that Kanata was real.

---
Kaoruâs eyes burned in the sea breeze as he sat on a large rock far away from his fatherâs castle. He was eight years old and his mother had just died. His father has said something that was fuzzy in Kaoruâs mind now, but still stung enough that he ran away. Something about needing to grow up already.Â
The noise clouded his mind and made it hard to focus on anything, but the gentle lapping of the waves eventually calmed him down.Â
At some point he must have buried his head in his knees, and a gentle tapping on his foot made him look up.Â
âWhoâre you?â he asked, a little irritated.Â
âI am âkanataââ the boy responded, curious green eyes staring right through Kaoruâs.Â
âIâm Kaoru.âÂ
âIt is nice to âmeetâ you, kaoru,â the boy said, tilting his head.Â
It was strange to Kaoru, that another boy would be out here this time of day, the sun slowly setting over the horizon. There wasnât a nearby village and none of the servants had ever said anything about having kids.Â
âWhere are you from?â he decided to ask.Â
Kanataâs face turned sad.Â
âI cannot âtellâ you that right ânowâ.âÂ
Kaoruâs face scrunched up.Â
âWhat do you mean?âÂ
âI cannot say.âÂ
There wasnât any use in pushing the question further.Â
âWhy are you âhereâ?â the strange boy asked, laying his head against his arms, which he had folded atop the rock.Â
Kaoru opened his mouth before closing it again. Why was he here? He was mad at his father, he was grieving his mother, his siblings were grieving in their own ways and were much too old to care about little Kaoru.Â
âMy mom loved the ocean,â he said, avoiding a direct answer.Â
Kanata hummed and started drawing designs on the rock with his finger.Â
âDid something happen?âÂ
âI donât want to talk about it.âÂ
Kaoru would have left it at that, but clearly Kanata was determined to do something about Kaoruâs bad mood.Â
âDo you want to play a âgameâ?â he asked after a few moments of silence.Â
âWhat kind of game?âÂ
There wasnât really anything to lose. He needed to get his fatherâs voice out of his head, and may as well try whatever game Kanata was thinking of.Â
Kanata dove under the waves for a moment before emerging with what appeared to be an oyster. The boy with blue hair smashed the oyster on the rock and started drawing something with the sharp edge.Â
Kaoru watched as Kanata scratched a few crude lines in the stone. They formed a small grid and Kaoru didnât recognize it from any of the games he would play by himself in the castle.Â
Kanata drew a crude âXâ in one of the grid spaces and held the oyster shell out for Kaoru to take.Â
Kaoru took it but his confusion must have shown on his face, because Kanata began to describe the rules of the game.Â
âWe will âtake turnsâ drawing an âXâ or âOâ in these spaces,â Kanata pointed to the little squares individually. âI am âXâ and you are âOâ. Whoever gets âthree in a rowâ will win.âÂ
Seemed simple enough. Kaoru drew an âOâ in the space opposite Kanataâs âXâ.Â
He passed the oyster shell back to Kanata, and the game was over quickly. Kaoru had tried to block one of Kanataâs attempts at getting three in a row, only to be foiled by Kanataâs clever set up.Â
âYou win!â he exclaimed, in awe of the strategy he had to put into such a simple game.Â
Kanata chuckled.Â
âWould you like to play again?â he asked.Â
Kaoru nodded and began drawing another grid on the stone before drawing in an âXâ in the upper right corner.Â
The two boys covered that rock in little grids with Xs and Os well into the night. At some point they had lost track of who had won more games, but it didnât matter as they tried to outsmart each other the next round.Â
Kaoru almost didnât notice how late it was until someone started calling his name. He looked up and saw that the moon was shining bright overhead with the stars. How long had he stayed out with Kanata?
âSorry Kanata, thatâs one of my dadâs friends calling me,â he turned to say goodbye to his new friend, but found that they had slipped away while he wasnât looking. The only evidence of their encounter were the grids covering the rock and the broken pieces of oyster shell scattered around him.Â
Kaoru opened his mouth to call out to Kanata before he heard his name again.Â
âIâm coming!â he yelled as he stood up and stretched. His knees felt a little cramped from sitting on the rock all evening. He shot one last glance out to the ocean, hoping that Kanata might be out there and he could at least say goodbye.Â
There was nothing but the calm waves crashing to shore.Â
âOh thank goodness, Kaoru youâre okay!â the servant said as they picked him up.Â
Normally Kaoru would protest against being treated like this, but tonight he just curled into their arms.Â
When they asked him about what he had been doing out there, he told them about a strange blue haired boy. The servant told him there was nobody who could fit that description, as blue hair wasnât natural and they were miles away from the nearest town.Â
They told him it was probably just a figment of his imagination he came up with to help cope with the loss of his mother.Â
Kaoru felt it deep in his bones that Kanata was real.Â
---Â
Kaoru went back to the rock again the next night, desperate to see Kanata again. To prove that he hadnât made up the boy in a fit of grief.Â
The remains of the oyster shell had been blown away during the night, but the scattered grids with Xs and Os remained.Â
He sat out on the rock again and dipped his feet in the water. Maybe Kanata will come back again today.Â
Over an hour had passed when Kaoru began pulling his feet out of the water and he had decided to just go back to the castle. Maybe Kanata was busy today, or maybe his parents had taken him back home, wherever that was, and they couldnât meet again.Â
Maybe their meeting on the rock yesterday was supposed to be just that.Â
Kaoru had stood up and was shaking his legs dry when Kanata poked his head out of the water again.Â
âKanata!â he exclaimed, quickly sitting down again.Â
âIt is good to âseeâ you again, kaoru,â the boy smiled at him, laying his head on his arms again. âI am âsorryâ for âleavingâ yesterday, but it is âdangerousâ for me to be here that âlateâ.âÂ
Kaoru still couldnât understand what Kanata was saying. Itâs not like Kanata was a mermaid or something, right? His mom had told him those only existed in stories.Â
They were both kids though, so he probably meant it was dangerous to be out that late alone. Just like what his fatherâs servant had said last night.Â
But now Kaoru had proof that Kanata was real. He was right there!Â
Kaoru reached a hand out to touch Kanataâs hair, just to make sure.Â
Kanata pulled away before he could feel it for more than a moment.Â
âWhat are you âdoingâ, kaoru?âÂ
Kanata was frowning.
âI-- uhâŠâ Kaoru started.Â
What was he doing?Â
âI justâŠwanted to make sure you were real, I guess.âÂ
âWhy would I not be ârealâ?âÂ
âI dunno, my dadâsâŠfriend said that people donât have blue hair.âÂ
Kanata laughed.Â
âYou can âtouchâ it then, but please be âcarefulâ.âÂ
Kaoru gently reached out once more and gently grabbed a lock of Kanataâs hair in his thumb and forefinger.Â
It was grainy and scratchy, as if it wasnât quite hair. Kaoru tried to recall one of the books he had read in the library about hair on sea creatures being less like hair and more likeâŠit was on the tip of his tongue but he couldnât quite recall. Â
âWhy does it feel like that?â he asked, pulling away.Â
Kanata chuckled.Â
âI cannot âtellâ you yet.âÂ
Kaoru groaned.Â
âWhen can you tell me?âÂ
âMaybe when we are both âolderâ,â Kanata responded.Â
âThatâs so far away though!â Kaoru wrapped his arms around his knees and laid his head against them.Â
They sat in silence for a few moments.Â
âThank you, Kanata,â Kaoru finally murmured, letting the breeze carry his words away.Â
Kanata hummed and tilted his head as if he hadnât heard what Kaoru had just said.Â
âI said âThank you, Kanataâ,â Kaoru said a little louder. âFor yesterday, I mean.âÂ
âYou seemed âsadâ and I wanted to âgrantâ your wish and make you âhappyâ. Are you âhappyâ now, Kaoru?âÂ
âA little bitâŠbut what do you mean âgrant my wishâ?âÂ
Kanataâs eyes widened, like that was something he wasnât supposed to say to Kaoru.Â
âIâŠneed to âleaveâ.âÂ
Kanata tried to move away from the rock but Kaoru grabbed his wrist at the same time. It was wet and slimy.Â
âPromise me you wonât leave me, Kanata.âÂ
Kaoru felt tears pricking at his eyes. He couldnât have the only person who had ever treated him like a normal kid, like a friend, leave him like this. He wouldnât let them.Â
âIs that what you âwishâ?â he asked.Â
âYes! Yes itâs what I wish. Please be my friendâŠâ Kaoru felt the tears spill over as he pulled Kanataâs hand closer to his chest. âPlease, KanataâŠâÂ
Kanata looked conflicted. His eyes went from scared, to uncertain, to a slew of other emotions that Kaoru didnât have the words for before he finally settled on one. Determination.Â
âI promise that we will be friends, kaoru.âÂ
âPinky promise?â Kaoru let go of Kanataâs wrist and held out his hand, pinky outstretched.Â
Kanata looked curiously at his hand before holding his own hand up in the same manner. Kaoru linked their pinkies and shook on it.Â
âYou have to keep your promise now!âÂ
The two boys laughed at their deal and Kaoru felt like a weight was lifted off his chest.Â
---Â
Kaoru returned the next day, and the day after that. He came back to their spot as frequently as he could just to catch even a glimpse of his new friend, his only friend.Â
Some days he would sit out there for several hours and Kanata wouldnât even peek his head above the water before Kaoru gave up. Others, Kanata would meet him there and practically jump out of the water to greet him.Â
Those days they would spend hours talking, playing games, just being kids. Both of them would come to cherish every moment of it, not knowing when their parents would take them away from each other.Â
It was one day at the end of the summer when Kaoru was told by his father that they would be returning to the city, casually leaving out the part about returning to a castle. Kaoruâs summer spent out by the ocean would be over.Â
That day, he walked back down to the beach, finding a familiar blue head of hair laying on their rock already.Â
Kaoruâs mood was so bad that he couldnât even bring himself to call out to Kanata like he normally did, running and giggling and excited to see his friend.Â
He pulled himself up on the rock and began running his fingers through Kanataâs hair (something the other boy had grown more used to since their first encounter).Â
âIs something âwrongâ, kaoru?â he asked, picking up on his mood.Â
Kaoru hummed dejectedly.Â
âYeah. Father says weâre going back home tomorrow,â he sighed and turned towards Kanata. âI donât want to leave you though.âÂ
Kanata dipped his fingers in the water before doodling small designs on Kaoruâs feet and legs. Kaoru jumped slightly at the sudden touch but quickly relaxed and let Kanata trace the various designs.Â
âWill you âreturnâ here again?â Kanata asked.Â
âMaybe next summer, but thatâs so far away. I donât want to leave.âÂ
Kanata tilted his head in contemplation.Â
âWhy donât we make a âpromiseâ then?âÂ
Kaoruâs mind flashed to earlier that summer and their promise to be friends.Â
âPromise to meet again next summer?â He held out his pinky.Â
Kanata took it in his own, familiar with the gesture this time.Â
âPromise.âÂ
And with that, their fate was sealed.Â
---Â
Kaoru wandered the palace halls when he returned. What was Kanata doing right now? Was he feeling the same way? Did he still wait for him at their spot, even though Kaoru had told them he was leaving?Â
Kaoru found himself in the library, flipping through books about the ocean and the creatures that lived there. Kanata still hadnât gotten out of the water all summer and Kaoru was beginning to think something was up.Â
He may be 8 years old, almost 9 mind you, but he wasnât stupid.Â
He found a few books on mermaids that his mother had insisted on keeping for him. He had always been a motherâs boy growing up, hadnât he.Â
All of the books said that mermaids either werenât real, or if they were, they avoided human contact at all costs. Was Kanata just a strange child from a nearby village? Nobody had ever mentioned a village that was close to their summer residence. Maybe they kept it a secret.Â
There was no way Kanata was a mermaid, Kaoru decided. Kanata just liked to be in the water. But how did he manage to sneak away whenever one of the royal servants called Kaoru back for dinner time? Surely he would have noticed footprints in the sand.Â
All of the information made Kaoruâs head swim. Everything seemed to be in conflict with everything else. Maybe he just wasnât looking close enough. He would have to investigate further when he returned to their summer home the next year.Â
He closed the book and looked outside, realizing just how late he had stayed up again. Hopefully his father didnât have any plans the next day and he could sleep in a little bit.Â
Kaoru padded through the halls as quietly as he could, being very careful to avoid slipping and falling. Most of the doors were closed and the only lights came from the wall sconces that had been turned down for the night. Enough to see by for the nightly cleaning but nothing more than that.Â
He was almost back to his room when he noticed that the door to his fatherâs room was open and the lights were on. Kaoru debated if he should peek in or just go to bed. It was getting late and he would get in trouble if they found him out this late.Â
He quickly decided to walk closer to the door and try to listen to what was going on, but he didnât want to spend too much time lingering at the door.Â
â...blue haired boy at the beach?â He caught the tail end of a sentence.Â
âYes, and it seems he spent most of his time down at the beach playing with his âfriendâ, though weâve never seen this blue haired child.âÂ
âThank you for the information. You may go now.âÂ
Kaoru quickly started running towards his door at that. It was only two doors up the hallway, he could make it before the servant walked in the hallway and noticed him.Â
He gently opened the door and prayed that it wouldnât make any noise as he slipped inside and closed it again.Â
What had he just heard? His father was talking to one of the servants that had taken care of him over the summer, that much was clear. And it was someone who knew about Kanata, which he had only mentioned maybe once or twice before realizing nobody believed him about the boyâs existence.Â
Hopefully it was just nothing.Â
Kaoru took a deep breath and closed his eyes, trying to calm his heart rate down before bed.Â
In.Â
.Â
.Â
.Â
Out.Â
.Â
.Â
.Â
Kaoru opened his eyes again and got into bed, not even bothering to change out of his day clothes before falling into a deep, dreamless sleep.Â
---Â
Kaoru manages to avoid being asked about Kanata and what they did this summer. He overhears conversations between his father and his advisors late at night, discussing if the blue haired boy might be real, and what he could be.Â
Kaoru regrets saying anything at all about Kanata, but every night he prays to whatever god is out there that they donât go looking for him.Â
He debates telling Kanata about everything next summer when heâll be back at their summer home.
Kaoru is only 9 years old and has to consider the consequences of his actions in such a serious manner. It often keeps him up at night, waking him from nightmares where Kanata is kidnapped and forced to give up information aboutâŠmermaids? He canât quite tell since the scene cuts out before he can try and save his friend.Â
Kaoru doesnât get much sleep. He has bags under his eyes and less energy and everyone notices but nobody says anything. His family talk at him rather than to him, not that he minds much since it goes in one ear and out the other.Â
Everyone assumes heâs still grieving his mother and leaves it at that. And to some extent, it is. He still yearns for his motherâs touch, her gentle hugs and the stories she would tell him every night and the love he felt whenever he was in her presence.Â
He cries himself to sleep those nights, only to be woken up to nightmares of Kanata being captured and thrust into a reality where he has nobody to comfort him anymore.Â
---Â
The next summer, Kaoru bolts to their special rock. His eyes scan the ocean for any sign of Kanata: his blue hair, green eyes, odd splashing amidst the waves.Â
He even goes to shout Kanataâs name out before realizing that it might not be the best idea. So Kaoru sits on the rock and dips his feet in the water, kicking them gently to create little waves. He would do his best to wait patiently for Kanata and organize his thoughts.Â
He got there when the sun was still high in the sky and it was almost sunset when Kanataâs head poked out of the water. Kaoru almost jumped off the rock and into the water to give him a hug when he noticed the tell-tale green eyes and light blue hair. Kanata beat him to the punch and practically tackled him in a hug.Â
The two boys laughed for a few minutes, Kanata rolled off Kaoru and sank back into the water before Kaoru could get a good look at the lower half of his body.Â
Their giggles died down and Kaoru took a deep, shaky breath. Why did this have to be so hard? Itâs not like Kanata was actually in any dangerâŠright?Â
âKanata, can I ask you something?â he said, looking down at his knees. His hands curled into fists on his lap.Â
âOf course, kaoru,â Kanata replied, laying his head on the rock like he always did.
âAre youâŠa mermaid?â he asked, still not looking at Kanata. He could feel his face heat up in embarrassment. âI meanâŠthatâs silly. Obviously you arenât a mermaid, those are only from fairy tales and it was stupid of me to even ask--âÂ
âKaoru,â Kanata interrupted. âI am a âmermaidâ.âÂ
Kaoru looked up, eyes widened in confusion. Kanata wasâŠa mermaid?Â
Before Kaoru could ask what he meant, Kanata shifted and raised a tail partially above the surface of the water. It was a deep blue-gray color with shark-like fins.Â
Kaoru had never seen something so beautiful and he wanted to brush his hand over it, like he had with Kanataâs hair last year. He knew he shouldn't, especially since Kanata had hidden his tail from him for so long. He must have had his reasons, given how in the stories humans always hunted mermaids to show off and take them away from their families.Â
Kaoru didnât know much about Kanataâs life in the ocean, but he couldnât imagine taking Kanata away from it either. Even if it meant they got to see each other more often.Â
Kanata lowered his tail back in the water, creating a gentle splash as he moved back towards the rock.Â
Kaoru opened his mouth, closed it, and then opened it again. He was too awestruck to speak. His friend was actually a mermaid?Â
Can he touch Kanataâs tail?Â
Why was that his first thought? Kaoru slapped his cheeks and got his thoughts in order.Â
âThatâs so cool, Kanata!â he exclaimed. It wasnât a lie, Kanataâs tail was very, very cool to the 9-year-old boy with two legs.Â
Kanata chuckled.Â
âWe are not supposed to âtellâ humans about our âexistenceâ. Please do not âtellâ anyone âelseâ about this.âÂ
Kanataâs tone was more serious than normal and understandably so.Â
âOf course!â Kaoru said, maybe a little too quickly. âI pinky promise!âÂ
Kaoru held out his pinky, which Kanata accepted with ease. Kaoru laughed and lay back on the rock, and Kanata pulled himself up to join him.Â
The two boys talked for hours, watching the clouds move and pointing out the different shapes (Kanata insisted they were all different types of sea creatures even when it was clearly a duck), catching up on the past 9 months of their lives. Kaoru found out Kanataâs birthday was only two months before his, and that Kanata had always wanted to try human food. Kaoru told Kanata about his mom and his fascination with the sea that she fostered in him.Â
Eventually, however, it was time for them to part ways once again. Kaoru couldnât risk the castle servants catching a glimpse of Kanata now, and it was almost time for dinner, which meant they would be coming to get him soon.Â
âWe will meet again âtomorrowâ, yes?â Kanata asked, sliding back into the water.Â
âOf course! Wouldnât miss it for the world!â Kaoru replied, putting his stockings and shoes back on. They would be full of sand and smell like sea water later, but someone else would deal with that.Â
Kanata chuckled.Â
âI look forward to seeing you âtomorrowâ, kaoru.âÂ
He slipped beneath the waves and swam away.Â
Kaoru swears he saw Kanata wave at him before he got too far away. Kaoru waved back.Â
---Â
That night, the servants asked him again what he had been doing out so late. Kaoru took a moment before answering, leaving them only with a vague âPlaying in the ocean.âÂ
It wasnât a lie per se, but it wasnât the entire truth.Â
He ate dinner with his family in relative silence, letting the conversation happen around him and only offering a polite nod when asked a question he wasnât paying attention to. His mind was still on the blue haired boy he knew now to be a mermaid.Â
Kaoru eventually holed up in the library with some of his favorite books to read for the night until he got too tired or his candle burnt out, whichever came first.Â
He had grabbed a few books related to mermaids, ones that his mother had read to him when she was still alive. Kaoru could still see part of her in them, the little crinkles where she would hold the page, the tears when she turned a page too fast, excited to continue the story with him.Â
Kaoru could feel the tears pricking at his eyes, so he put the book down and grabbed another one, but it was no use. Every book in the library had been something his mother had picked out herself for everyone.Â
Kaoru decided that he had read enough for the night and walked back to his room. Just like he had a few months ago, he paused in front of the cracked door to his fatherâs quarters and listened in.Â
â--mermaids. I thought they were just a myth but could he reallyâŠâ his fatherâs voice trailed off, but Kaoru could put 2 and 2 together.Â
Kaoru did not sleep very well that night.Â
---Â
âHey, Kanata. Can I ask you a question?â Kaoru kicked his feet in the water, gently splashing Kanataâs face.Â
Kanata tilted his head. âWhat do you âwantâ to âknowâ, kaoru?âÂ
âI thought mermaids were supposed to keep their identity a secret, soâŠI was wondering why you told me?âÂ
The question hung in the air for a long moment. Kaoru couldnât bring himself to breathe.Â
âIt is because i âtrustâ you, kaoru.âÂ
âCan you really trust me? I havenât even told you about who I really am.âÂ
Kanata furrowed his eyebrows.Â
âWhat do you âmeanâ, kaoru?âÂ
Kaoru took a deep breath and stared at the water. He dipped a finger into the ocean and began drawing little circles with it.Â
âIâŠnever told you that Iâm a prince. And my dad is the king of this land.â He couldnât bring himself to look at Kanata.Â
âWell I donât see why that would âchangeâ anything between us?â Kanata responded. âI am also an âimportant personâ back home.âÂ
âYou are?â Kaoru asked, curious now.Â
âI do not think I can âtellâ you the âdetailsâ though.âÂ
âIs that why you always talk like that?â The question slips out of Kaoruâs mouth before his brain can keep up with it.Â
âWhat do you âmeanâ, kaoru?âÂ
âI mean itâs likeâŠâ he had to pause for a moment. How could he begin to describe how Kanata spoke?Â
âItâs likeâŠyou emphasize random words more than others? And you pronounce things weird sometimes.âÂ
âI think âyouâ are the one who speaks âweirdlyâ, kaoru.âÂ
Kaoru laughed.Â
âWell I guess we both talk weirdly then.âÂ
Kanata chuckled and moved to sit on the rock with him.Â
âI trust you because you are âlike meâ,â he said simply, answering Kaoruâs earlier question. âI donât think you would âtellâ anyone my âsecretâ.âÂ
That made enough sense, Kaoru supposed. Itâs not like Kaoru had anyone he really could tell, since he didnât like his father and his siblings never took him seriously. He hated being so much younger than them sometimes, but it was times like this where he didnât mind.Â
It meant he had Kanata all to himself.Â
He felt Kanata lean his head on his shoulder. The two boys looked out at the sunset together until they eventually fell asleep.Â
There was nowhere else Kaoru would rather be.Â
---
Much like the last summer, Kaoru spent his days running off to the beach, sitting on that rock where he had met Kanata all those months ago.Â
The anniversary of his motherâs death hit him hard, but Kanata proved more than enough of a distraction from the tense atmosphere around his family. It was so thick that week he could have cut it with a knife.Â
Kaoru was suffocating the more he spent around his older siblings and his father. Even though Kaoru was only 9 years old, he was expected to start taking on more serious duties in the next few years, and they only wanted to prepare him for that.Â
Kaoru just wanted to hold onto his freedom for as long as possible. So he continued to meet with Kanata and play games, swim, and make up stupid stories about the different people in their lives.Â
It was the only time Kaoru was ever truly free to be himself anymore.Â
He swore he would engrave these memories on his brain so he could think back on them when he inevitably had to return to the city at the end of the summer.Â
He also spent his nights having to sneak back from the library, where he was constantly reading up on mermaids when the weather was too bad for him to go visit Kanata. He would sneak past his fatherâs room and catch glimpses of late night conversations that he didnât want to stick around for.Â
What he did manage to hear made him worry about Kanata, though. Did his father know about mermaids? Would they try to hurt Kanata and his family? Had they tried to do that in the past and were using Kaoru to get them to lower their defenses?Â
Was Kaoru hurting Kanata by being his friend?Â
These questions burned in Kaoruâs mind as he tried to sleep, but it was useless. By the end of the summer, the bags under his eyes were noticeable enough that even Kanata could no longer ignore them.Â
âHave you been âsleepingâ well, kaoru?â he would ask, always cupping Kaoruâs face in his hands.Â
âI just had a bad dream is all. Donât worry about it.âÂ
The response was automatic, devoid of any real feelings. It was a lie of course, and Kanata saw right through it, but never said anything.Â
Kanata would just offer Kaoru a place to close his eyes and said he would protect him from the bad dreams, âif that is what you âwishâ.âÂ
Thatâs how Kaoru slept the last month of the summer: long naps on the beach with Kanata stroking his hair and calling him a good boy. It was a strange habit that he had, but Kaoru didnât mind.Â
It reminded him of his mother, and that was all he needed to relax to the touch.Â
He never had a nightmare while sleeping on the beach.Â
---Â
If Kaoru was being honest, it was harder for him to go home this summer than it had been last year. He and Kanata had gotten closer and Kanata was more open now that Kaoru knew about his secret.Â
The two played in the water frequently, Kanata using his tail to splash Kaoru on the rocks to taunt him into jumping into the water. Kaoru would retaliate by jumping in and tackling Kanata in a hug and dragging them both under for a moment until Kanata righted them and brought them to the surface, laughing and smiling.Â
Sometimes the two would swim out beyond the rocks, Kaoru clinging to Kanataâs back to stay above the water and Kanata would swim in slow circles and coax fish to the surface for Kaoru to pet.Â
Kaoru would spend the rainy days in the library looking for books on the fish that Kanata showed him, learning all that he could to try and impress his friend with his knowledge. Kanata would always smile and say that the fish loved Kaoru too.Â
All of that just made it harder for Kaoru to leave. The carriage was waiting outside and his father was calling his name, but Kaoruâs legs wouldnât move. It was as if his legs had been screwed to the floor until one of the servants gently nudged him forward.Â
The tears came to his eyes as he made his way forward, arms hugging his torso to try and find some sense of comfort as he left their summer home behind for another 8 months.Â
Kanata will still be there next year, he told himself. Just hang out until then.
---Â
They were 10 years old the next time they met. Kaoru had devoured everything he could at the main castleâs library during his 8 months away and had way too many questions for Kanata.Â
Have mermaids always hidden themselves from humans? Why did they start hiding themselves? Have there been other humans who actually knew about mermaids? Is anything in the fairy tales he grew up reading true?Â
Kanata, for his part, did his best to answer these questions.Â
Mermaids havenât always kept themselves hidden from humans, but recent events have made them hesitant to expose themselves. There were cases of humans using magic to come down to mermaid kingdoms, but most of their accounts were greatly exaggerated. And yes, there was a way for humans to enchant themselves to go under the water, but it only lasted a few days even when cast by the strongest of magic users.Â
Most of the fairy tale stories were just that, stories.Â
Kaoru became fascinated by the idea that people could visit the world of the mermaids.Â
âDo you think I could do that one day?â he asked, sitting in his usual spot on the rock and gently kicking his feet.Â
âYou will need to âlearnâ how to âswimâ first, kaoru.â Kanata replied, laying next to him.Â
Kanata had become more comfortable pulling himself out of the water around Kaoru since their first meeting.Â
âAgh, thatâs true. My mom wanted to teach me but my father thought it was âun-prince likeâ or whatever.â His face crinkled into a pout.Â
âDo you think you could teach me how to swim, Kanata?â Kaoru asked, turning to face the other boy.Â
âI do not have âlegsâ so I do not think it would be very âeffectiveâ.âÂ
Kaoru laid down and crossed his arms.Â
âBut there has to be some way I can learn to swim, even if you canât teach me.âÂ
Kanata hummed in thought for a moment.Â
âI might know âsomeoneâ who can help âusâ with our âproblemâ.âÂ
Kaoru shot back upright again.Â
âReally!?â he asked, eyes shining in anticipation.Â
âYes, but I will have to âaskâ him âlaterâ.âÂ
Kaoru nodded his head and moved to hug Kanata on the rock.Â
âThank you, Kanata!â he said, nuzzling into the boyâs neck.Â
Kanata chuckled.Â
âOf course, kaoru.âÂ
---Â
It was another two weeks before Kaoru got to meet Kanataâs other friend, a boy from a small fishing village nearby named Chiaki Morisawa. The boy had deep chestnut brown hair and brilliant red eyes, and entirely too excited to meet the other friend Kanata had apparently been talking about for the past two weeks.Â
Chiaki explains that he didnât have time to come all the way up the bay until today, which was normally a day of relaxation, though his parents knew he liked to hang out with some kids from other villages in the bay. As long as he was back before the second meal the next day they wouldnât worry about him.Â
Kaoru was a little shocked at first to see Chiaki as he was, in clothes that had seen better days but clearly were well taken care of anyway, and a straw hat that was on its last legs after who knows how many days on the water.Â
Chiaki was also shocked to find out that the friend Kanata had been talking about was the prince of the kingdom. Evidently Kanata had kept their unspoken promise to keep that a secret. Kaoru had to clap a hand over his mouth to keep him from yelling out how shocked he was at the revelation and had to bribe him not to tell anyone he was giving the youngest prince swimming lessons of all things.Â
Not that anyone in Chiakiâs village would believe him anyway, Kaoru thought, but he just wanted to keep these meetings as quiet as possible. What would his father think if he found out he had been meeting with a commoner, after all.Â
Kanata helps Chiaki pull his little boat to the shore and Chiaki almost tackles Kaoru in a hug as a greeting. Kaoru didnât mind this behavior from Kanata, but he had just met Chiaki. Kaoru puts his arms up to brace and keep some distance between them until Chiaki pulls away.Â
Thereâs a sinking feeling in his gut when Chiaki pulls away with a slight frown, but Kaoru shoves that aside as Chiaki begins talking excitedly again about swimming.Â
Kaoru wasnât wearing anything too fancy, opting for some simple cotton clothes that could be easily washed without issue, though they still seemed fancier than Chiakiâs own clothes.Â
Kaoru followed Chiaki into the water and listened to his explanation of simple swimming motions. They wouldnât move beyond where they could touch the sand today, just so they didnât have to worry about accidentally drowning.Â
First things first though, Kaoru had to learn how to float on his back.Â
âYouâll want to relax and lean your head back and keep your arms and legs straight,â Chiaki guided his hands under Kaoruâs back, and Kaoru had to try and not to flinch at the touch. Chiakiâs hands were much rougher than Kanataâs or anyones at the castle. But Chiaki was trying to be gentle and Kaoru knew Kanata was nearby.Â
He did what was asked and leaned his head back and arched his back. Chiakiâs hands guided his movements.Â
âIâm going to let go now, okay?â Chiaki said.Â
Kaoru couldnât respond before he felt Chiakiâs hands leave his skin. It took everything in him not to tilt himself upright again. He closed his eyes and willed himself to stay in the arched position.Â
âGood boy!â Chiaki said. He must have picked that up from Kanata.Â
âDonât call me that. Only Kanata can call me that.â Kaoru said, continuing to float.Â
âOh, sorry!â Chiaki seemed overly apologetic over the whole thing. Kaoru didnât say anything.Â
Once Kaoru was able to get himself from standing to floating unassisted, they moved onto basic movements. Chiaki found a stray piece of driftwood that would support Kaoruâs weight, despite how uncomfortable it was to hold, so that he could practice kicking his legs.Â
This part was surprisingly hard. Kaoru had to focus on keeping his legs as straight as possible while moving them up and down, while also making sure his hips moved in rhythm with them.Â
He still hadnât quite gotten the hang of it by the time Chiaki realized he had to go home for the night.Â
âJust keep practicingâŠâÂ
âHakaze.â He doesnât know why he gave Chiaki his family name.Â
âRight! Just keep practicing, Hakaze! Iâll see if I can come back again next week and we can keep working on swimming!âÂ
âOf course,â he replied, with half a smile.Â
Kanata waved goodbye as well before helping Chiaki get his boat on the water and the two left to go back to Chiakiâs village.Â
Why was he soâŠdisappointed in meeting the other boy? Maybe that wasnât the right word, but he had been so excited to meet him just two weeks ago. Was it just the time that had passed? Was it the idea that Kanata, despite being a mermaid, was able to make another friend so easily? Did their personalities just not mesh very well?Â
Was Kaoru just being too hard on Chiaki?Â
Was heâŠjealous?Â
Kaoru didnât want to sit with the thought for too long. He needed to get back again and change his clothes.Â
He walked back to shore and shook himself dry in the same manner a dog would before changing into his dry clothes. They still clung to him slightly but it was better than the dripping wet clothes he was wearing.Â
What was this heaviness he felt in his heart?Â
---
Their routine continued for the rest of the summer. Every two weeks, Chiaki would get towed over by Kanata on a small canoe and they would have swimming lessons. Kaoruâs progress was slow but it was paying off.Â
By the end of the summer, the three of them were splashing and having fun away from shore. Kaoru had grown moreâŠtolerant of Chiaki. He didnât flinch when the boy crushed him in a hug, but he still pushed him away once the moment grew too long.Â
He felt a pit in his stomach whenever Chiaki and Kanata seemed to be in on something together before dragging Kaoru out with them. He wasnât an afterthought, clearly, but it felt like he wasnât in on the joke.Â
He missed the days when it was just him and Kanata. They had grown fewer and far-between as Kanata kept telling Kaoru that it was just stuff at home.Â
âYou do not need to âworryâ so much, Kaoru. There is just someâŠimportant business my family âneedsâ me for.â Kanata told him one day, on a rare day where it was just the two of them.Â
âI justâŠwish that I could help you with it. I miss when we just got to hang out every day.â Kaoru felt tears well up in his eyes. Why was he crying over this?
âFufufu, but we are both growing âolderâ and being given more âresponsibilities. You have not been able to visit the beach as often as you would âlikeâ either.âÂ
Kaoru sighed. He was right. Both children were almost 12 now and Kaoru would have to give up all the free time he had enjoyed until now. But he still hoped that he and Kanata would be able to still be friends.Â
âWhy is life so haaaaaaard Kanata?âÂ
âI donât know, Kaoru. But we will get through it âtogetherâ, yes?âÂ
âOf course! I would never dream of abandoning you!âÂ
âThen letâs make a âpromiseâ.âÂ
Kanata stuck out his pinky, a now familiar gesture between the two boys, and Kaoru gratefully accepted.Â

Could you write đ for Kaoru?
How would Kaoru Hakaze celebrate Halloween with his partner?
You're going to the ES Halloween party and Kaoru is going to be extra about this in pretty much the cheesiest way possible. You're doing a couples costume and the only say in this that you get is suggestions for who you're going to be. You end up going as like, Victor and Emily from the Corpse Bride or Brad and Janet from Rocky Horror. Something from a traditional Halloween style movie that still enables him to be cheesy as hell with you. Gender is immaterial here- whatever your gender if you're uncomfortable in a dress he'll wear it instead. He thinks the idea of a couples costume is cool and romantic. Isn't it sweet that he wants everyone to know you're with him?
After the party he'll take you somewhere quieter where you can still spend the evening like a date- the only bowling alley still open on Halloween night- still costumed up! He's humming songs from whichever movie you're dressed up as the whole time and he's so glad to be doing this that his ego isn't even bruised when you win. Well, not much anyhow.
To end the evening Kaoru will take you to a small and cosy cafe where you share a plate of pancakes in the corner. The whole evening is a far sight more romantic than your first date- when his inexperience got the better of him and he didn't even know what to say- and you can't help but reflect on how much more confident he's grown in the relationship since you got together! Times like this make it clear how lucky you are to be with him; funnily enough he's thinking the exact same thing about you.

Accidentall text!
- What will they do if you accidentally send a text about them!?
Req -> â | hc + scenario | word count : 932
Warning : none, (maybe teasing on rei's)
info = : gn!reader , "!" Era Set on izumi, sanbaka mentioned,fluff, âż : your friend â : you.
-
Izumi sena
âł - i think he would be shocked but at the same time was "duh i am" When the rambling is about his beauty
his heart actually flutter a bit (will not admit it)
He either will answers the text or just approach you just right then.
Or maybe both?
Before he approach you, he will screenshot the text first so he can always treasure the text if someday you delete the text.
if he's feeling like it he will say thank you.
Maybe ask you to maybe hang out with him sometimes (its a date invitation).
Will act like it doesnt affect him but it does!
If you apologize to him first and promise to delete the text he will say its okay
-
As you were walking towards your friends class, you saw some 3 graders there.
It was the sanbaka : Kaoru, chiaki , and last but not least izumi sena.
He was just standing there watching two of his friends kaoru and chiaki chatting with each other.
Your hurt flutter seeing him. he look so beautifull as always, you then pull out your phone and Saw that your friend texted you.
âż [friend] : "[name] where are you?"
â [you] : "I just saw izumi!!! He look so beautifull!! I cant believe someone like him exist, it feels like he's getting more gorgeous than ever day by day !! He so perfect Do you think if i buy him a shiny ring would he wear it??"
The text was followed by more rambles about izumi, after you finished you look towards the sanbaka again but you didnt expect izumi to look towards his phone.
and was typing something? While blushing..? What is he doing?
You then take a look at your phone again and Saw a notification from izumi. As you tried to process what just happend, you then realized that you send it to izumi instead of your friend.
You start to panic while directly staring at your phone, and didn't realize that someone was approaching you, You then feel someone suddenly poked your shoulder as you turn your Head and Saw that person was Izumi Sena himself.
well, you wish you were strong enough to talk to him.
-
Kaoru hakaze
âł - i hc him as a loser for love , he would be speechless
Will be flustered
Did not expect that text really
he gotta be giggling and kicking his feet when he saw that especially if he like you so muchÂ
if we're talking about "!" kaoru I think he would approach you but "!!"Â Kaoru no he would NOT approach you until he's ready
i think he would sutter a bit due to nervousness?Â
if you delete the text right after he approach and act like nothing happened he would be more emmbarassed
Trying to act cool but failed (gl next time hakaze loser kaoru) Â
-
an ordinary day goes by just like usual.
having casual talk with Kaoru just like everyday, but unfortunately you have a habit that i might said a bad one.Â
namely it because you always texting your friends about things related to Kaoru and yourself in detail!
usually between how he looks today , of course prettier as always and could also be about what you two are talking about.
and on that you immediately text your friend about it without you realizing you sent it to kaoru instead of your friend , but you had already turned off your phone to even realized.Â
and when he read it he turn embarrassed.
Beacuse of that whenever you guys passed each other , as you greeted him he will answered shyly.
making you confused and immediately open your phone to chatted your friend about it.
but after you opened your phone you realized that it turned out the ramble that you wanted to send to your friend was instead sended to him.
If you feel embarrassed too then you guys might not talk for a few days but if you don't really care about that and keep talking to him he might pass out (in good way dont worry)
-
Rei sakuma
âł - i dislike him sm (denial)Â
Okay i don't think he will be Flustered
but he do will smile and stare at his phone for a long time that the person who pass by him was like "what is wrong with this guy"
Will approach you and talk about it if he or you have time
Will not rush it tho he doesnt like rushing
Oh? You tought he doesnt know how to screenshot well to bad for you he learned how to do it probably from kaoru or koga
Will tease you with that text of course.Â
like maybe one day you Were mad at him and said
"you're un-attractive or something but he disagree wuth your statement saying "i dont think so" while showing the text you send about how gorgeous he is.
-
maybe it was when he was in the library when he was looking for a book he got a notification from his phone that made him smile like an idiot.
And before he answered the text he obviously screenshot it.
It might can be used in something...
he typed a reply with a "oh? really (*ÂŽË`*)-?"
As he smiles and thought it was kinda cute when he suddenly got a text about how Gorgeous he is.
you apologized and typed that you sent it to the wrong person but whatever you say he already saw it.. He already know
he already saw it.. He already know
He teased you about it making you flustered and dont open your phone of a while after that
he stopped chuckling after being reprimanded by tsumugi who told him that people are calling him scary for silently standing in the corner of the selves while smiling like an idiot.

Bridal - Chapter 4
[ View on site for better experienceâȘ ]
Location: Studio
Izumi: Alright, stop! That was awful!
Kaoru: âŠâŠ
Izumi: How did it end up being worse than last time? I thought you understood even a little bit of what I told you, did you not?
Thereâs supposed to be a happy bride behind the lens right? So why are you making that kind of expression the moment I take the picture?
Youâre getting married, and your bride is holding a bouquet of flowers, so look happier!
Kaoru: âŠâŠ
Izumi: Hakaze, donât just silently stand there, say something!Â
Huh? What is it, Anzu? Letâs take a break? Thereâs no way we can take a break after this.
I am not sending off a half assed product when Iâm the one guiding him.
I donât have any time tomorrow or the day after, so we have to finish this today.
Look, we're doing this again. Look over here, imagine a happy bride, and smile.
Kaoru: O-okayâŠ
Izumi: Like~ I~ said~ why do you look so upset? Donât make me repeat the same thing over and over again!
Kaoru: Um⊠Iâm sorry, Sena-kun.
Izumi: Geez⊠Not to be like Anzu, but it probably is best to take a break.
We seriously donât have time for this. I normally wouldnât allow this, but if the same thing keeps happening, we wonât get anywhere.
Kaoru: Anzu-chan, Sena-kun, thank you. Iâm gonna go outside for a bit and get some fresh air.
Izumi: âŠWhatâs up with him? Anzu, do you know?
It was the same thing the other day when we went to the arcade. [1] He was acting weird.
But whatever. Whatâs going on with him has nothing to do with me, so I donât care.
A~h. After this, I have no idea when Iâm getting home. Naru-kun better pay me overtime for this.
Hm? What, âYou were really cool earlierâ?
Naturally. I have a lot of experience with bridal shoots, so I could do them in my sleep.Â
Of course, this applies to other themes too. Iâve been modeling since I was a little, so this type of stuff was ingrained into me.
Hm? You asked when will I start modeling again?
I wonder~. Iâve been thinking a lot about what Iâd do about that tooâŠ
Naru-kun asked me too. She wants me to start modeling again. Recently, sheâs been trying to get me to do all sorts of jobs.
This time too, she mightâve asked me to help out Hakaze so I could remember how fun it is to model again.
Or, it really couldâve just been an emergency and she had no one else to ask.
Even though I said I wouldnât come back unless Yuu-kun was with me⊠It really is fun to be in front of a camera, isnât it?
Ah~ I really do love this job after all.
âŠNot that Iâll ever tell Naru-kun I said that.
I can hear it now. âI knew that Izumi-chan wanted to keep modeling âȘ,â sheâd say.
âŠMore importantly, why am I telling you all of this?
I didnât even want to tell you this, but you just kept listening and saying âUhuh!â and âRight!â so I naturally just kept talking!
âŠNow that I think about it, Hakaze still hasnât come back yet.
He wouldnât just leave and never come back right?
What? Youâre gonna go look for him, Anzu?
Then Iâll stay here. If Hakaze comes back, at least one person has to be in the studio to wait for him.
Even if I went, I think heâd like it more if Anzu went instead of me.
In class, he wonât shut up. Always saying, âAnzu-chan thisâ and âAnzu-chan thatâ.
Alright go already. If you take too long, weâll just waste the day away.
⊠Iâll leave Hakaze to you, Anzu.

Begging you guys to read Wanted!!!. For context here, Kaoru asked Izumi to borrow his makeup kit because he was crying and his eyes were swollen. Eichi asked to go to the arcade after this and the rest unfolds there. But mainly, Kaoru was upset and the arcade was a distraction, so that's why Izumi said he was acting weird then.
