Der Leitfaden, der das Genre des Rock für die letzten drei Dekaden begleitet hat, ist längst durchschnitten. In Zeiten wie diesen müssen Bands ihren Hörern mehr bieten als bloß die immer gleichen Bilder von Bandmitgliedern, wie sie in leeren Lagerhallen und in verlassenen Spielstätten performen. Es mag ein Wagnis sein, sich selbst in den Hintergrund zu stellen und sich auf die Kraft der Fusion verschiedenster Ebenen zu verlassen – doch dieses Risiko ist es mehr als wert eingegangen zu werden, insbesondere dann, wenn man eine Vision hat, die annähernd so deutlich und ambitioniert ist wie die von Zero Theorem. Der unliebsamen Sound-Monotonie in der Rockszene von Los Angeles beugen sich Zero Theorem nach wie vor nicht. Mit Wurzeln im Hardrock und Metal, kombiniert mit existenziell gestimmten Lyrics und messerscharfen Instrumentals, folgen sie vielmehr großen Vorbildern wie Tool oder Primus und entwickeln kurzerhand ein ganz eigenes, schillerndes Klanguniversum, das vom Hörer erforscht werden will. Bereits zu Beginn der Woche veröffentlichten Zero Theorem ihr Video zur Single “Translucent”, die am heutigen Freitag, 25. September, erscheint. Darin nehmen sie ihre Hörer mit auf eine Reise durch animierte Welten, die der tatsächlichen so viel näher kommen als die Realität

“Translucent repräsentiert den Prozess der Erkenntnis einer Person in ihrer authentischen Vollkommenheit, das Blicken hinter die Fassade eines Menschen. Genau wie andere Songs, die während der Aufnahmen zu The Killing entstanden sind, stellt Translucent ein drastisches Charakterporträt dar und gleichzeitig den Sinn unserer Fixierung auf das Künstliche infrage. Im dazugehörigen Video, das von Regisseur Elvis Freitas animiert wurde, führt ein schurkenhaftes Alien auf der Suche nach einer mysteriösen Energiequelle auf einem fremden Planeten einen verheerenden Luft- und Bodenangriff an. The America’s Family Pet Expo is one of the largest all pet shows on the West Coast.

Grab the family for three furrific days of pets — cute and cuddly, feathered and scaled of all sizes, shapes and colors — at the Orange County Fair and Event Center in Costa Mesa, CA. Enjoy animal entertainment, like the All-Star Stunt Dogs, education, adoption and innovative products for the whole family. April 3-5, 2020: 2020 Trick Dog Expo

For those whose dogs know more than just a few tricks, take them to the 3rd Annual Trick Dog Expo (abbreviated as TriDEx) at the Purina Farms Event Center in Gray Summit, MO. TriDEx will host a full schedule of speakers, workshops, demonstrations, stunt dog entertainers, plus an exhibitor hall.
