Kindergarten Readiness Checklist for Your Child
Tumblr media
As a parent and an infant, taking the next step into kindergarten is a big deal. You will want to make sure that you and your child are as prepared as possible. Here are some things that you and your little one can look out for:
 1) Language Skills: Young learners need to be able to speak comfortably in complete sentences and understand others. Since they are away from their parents' independent communication becomes especially important. If you are concerned about your child's progress, you don't need to worry. Kangaroo Kids is a nursery in Dubai that treats your child like their own. They offer kindergarten services that enrich your child and ready them for school.
 2) Reading Skills: Story time is an essential activity during preschool. Visual recognition, focus and imagination are the primary skills developed with this activity. Children should be comfortable with and enjoy story time to get the most out of it.
 3) Math Skills: In preschool, children are taught math through activities. To make the most of these activities children need to be able to do basic counting, number recognition, number arrangement as well as more than or less than.
 4) Self-Care: Preschool is a time of additional independence for children. With that independence comes additional responsibility. They need to be able to maintain basic hygiene, go to the bathroom by themselves, get dressed on their own and identify themselves.
 5) Social and Emotional Skills: Time away from primary caregivers is quite difficult for young children, this phase, therefore, becomes an especially important time to develop mental independence and a degree of emotional maturity to be able to communicate social and emotional needs with peers and guardians.
 6) Play: Playing is the most important and enjoyable activity in a young child's life. It's important that they have some experience as infants with gross motor skills and fine motor skills so that when they are interacting with peers that have developed the same, they are at par with them.

Number Activities for Kindergarten Children
Tumblr media
Due to the abstract nature of numbers, learning them can be a difficult task for many children. However, teachers can lessen this difficulty by teaching them number games and rhymes. By involving children in these activities, maths, counting, and numbers become tremendously approachable. Toddlers especially like to sing along, and putting valuable information in lyrical form lets them have fun while learning, making the purpose behind the education more fruitful. Below are some examples of number games that help children get better at the activity without intimidating them.
Number Train
First and foremost, kids love trains. They are fascinated by them - in large part due to popular shows like Thomas the Tank Engine. Leveraging that fondness, we use blocks, straws and tape - or anything that children can stack in a line to take a train. Due to the relatively intricate nature of the activity, this works better if a group of children are doing it.
For this activity, you will require differently coloured blocks or straws of different shapes, a ruler scale, tape and plenty of space to do the activity.
This activity aims to horizontally stack as many blocks or straws as possible on the ground to make a train.
Demonstrating the activity helps children ground the abstract nature of it. Please encourage them to participate. Ask them to choose a small number - under 10. Stack the blocks or straws per the number they chose. Provide each child with a set of blocks or straws, or make teams if there aren't enough items available.
Make each child or team stack the blocks or straws per the number you give them. You can repeat this as many times as necessary or until the children lose interest in the activity.
This activity helps children develop their number sense and counting ability.
Number Tracing
All the children need to do in this activity is recreate a number on paper. The best way of doing this is by tracing them. The requirements for this activity are just papers, charts, markers and pencils.
As the teacher on the chart paper, write all the numbers to be traced by the children in a relatively big font. Ensure there is adequate space between the two numbers so the child does not mistakenly overlap the tracing.
This activity helps children learn how to write numbers and recognise them accurately.
Painting Numbers
This activity is a great way to get the child's artistic and numerical talents on display by identifying numbers on a sheet correctly and coloring them in appropriate in order o get the picture right.
For this activity you will require a painting-by-numbers template and paints, crayons or color pencils in order to fill the templates in.
Two computer prints of the easy model templates are better - especially if they have fewer but larger sections that the child can color in easily.
Do the activity with the child, walk the little one through it. Show him by coloring on of the items in the template.
Afterwards, ask the young learner to choose the next number and color it in with the assigned corresponding cooler. Have them color the template completely.
Through this activity children learn number recognition, correspondence and colouring skills.

Things to consider while choosing a kindergarten
Tumblr media
The lessons that kindergarten teaches a child are what become a part of them for the rest of their lives. From speaking the first words to discovering enduring values, choosing the right kindergarten school could mean the difference between a good childhood and a fantastic childhood. Kangaroo Kids is a Kindergarten in Dubai that meets the needs of children and parents by providing them a comforting second home for their schooling.
Kindergarten is arguably the most critical part of a child's education, and parents should keep that in mind when looking for the perfect school for their little one. This might raise many difficult questions for parents, and very justifiably so! This article is aimed to help parents answer a few of these essential questions as they wade through the plethora of options before them. Read on to understand a few things to consider when choosing the right kindergarten for your child.
Your Individual Educational Philosophy
When searching for your first school, it might be helpful to ask yourself a few questions to figure out what kind of education would be best for your child. What is it that you value most in their education? Would you prefer a student or curriculum centred education?
Answering questions like these might help narrow down your choices of schools. Zeroing in on a school whose values mirror your own will help you and your child's teachers stay in sync with their education.
Choosing a  community over just a school
We need to bear in mind that the kindergarten we choose for our children is the one where they will most likely be making their first friends, so considering the kind of community the school foster is just as important as the teachers it employs!
How is the entire faculty working towards the overall development of your and all other children? What is the behaviour of all the pupils? If answering these questions raises any red flags in your mind, then maybe it is time to reconsider your options.
Look for the right teachers.
The influence of a good teacher can inspire hope, ignite the imagination and instil a love of learning in a child. Look for passionate teachers who are enthusiastic, motivated and love everything about what they do because they will be the biggest influences on your child. If you’re looking for a kindergarten in Dubai, then Kangaroo Kids is the best place for your child because of the quality of the faculty.
Children should have fun learning!
When you visit a school, make sure to notice if the students are happy and having fun. When a child loves learning, everything that follows comes naturally. Going to school every day should be something to look forward to instead of feeling like a chore.
Look for a well-rounded curriculum.
Your child is just beginning their educational journey through a series of developments. An effective learning curriculum should allow breadth and time for exploration. Looking for a school with a strong focus on academic learning and socio-emotional development is essential for optimal growth.
A high-quality kindergarten should provide a perfect mix of music, physical education, technology, visual arts, and languages.
Listen to parents of current students.
If you get the chance to interact with a few parents of children going to the schools of your choice, take it! Parents are a great way to help with your school research, as they might tell you what the school doesn't. Asking fellow parents what made them choose the school, their likes, and dislikes, and how their child feels about going could be the difference between selecting a school or not.
