How the Pillars react to your death

Important note: all of these deaths occur during the infinity castle arc, heavy and implied spoilers. Rengoku’s reaction to your death takes place before Mugen Train! Reader’s gender is unspecified.

Warnings: this post contains spoilers for the final arc of the manga. This includes implied spoilers for various characters. Please do not read this if you don’t want to be spoiled and don’t blame me if you go ahead and read it anyways lol

A/N: I wrote this whole post in my head while showering last night and I’m honestly offended it took me 3x as long to actually write it.

Giyu 

“CAWWW! DEAD! KOCHO SHINOBU AND L/N Y/N ARE DEAD! THEY DIED AFTER A CONFRONTATION WITH UPPER MOON TWO!” Giyu’s body comes to a screeching halt, Tanjiro shooting past him before falling to his knees as violent sobs wracked his body. Giyu, on the other hand, is frozen in place, a sob stuck in his throat. Shinobu’s death was a punch to the gut, but you? For the first time since Sabito had died, Giyu felt tears burning at the back of his eyes. Yet, nothing would come out, those tears wouldn’t break the barrier and slip down his cheeks. His tight throat would not let the sob escape. There was no possible way you were gone, you promised him you’d be okay. Though, childish beliefs like that reminded him of his own faults. Once again, he couldn’t protect the people he cared about. Rather than wallowing in sudden grief, he began moving again, past Tanjiro who was struggling to get back up. He needed to keep moving, if he didn’t stop, he was certain he would collapse entirely and never get up again. He couldn’t let your sacrifice go to waste. 

Shinobu 

Her feet barely hit the ground, body manoeuvring through the endless castle with one destination in mind. “CAWWW! DEAD! L/N Y/N IS DEAD! THEY DIED AFTER ENCOUNTERING UPPER MOON TWO!” She stumbles, shock hitting her like a bucket of ice water being dumped over her head. Her mind is racing, not willing to believe what the crow had just said to be true. You had steered away from the plan. In a desperate attempt to save Shinobu’s life you tried to defeat Upper Two yourself. Hot, angry tears are spilling down her cheeks, hand clutching her heart as she tries to understand. “Why would you do this? Why wouldn’t you take my word for it and go with Tomioka? Look what you did… you went and got yourself killed,” Yet again, Upper Two had taken something precious to her. One word flashed through her mind, alongside your beautiful face. Revenge. She would get her revenge, not only for Kanae, but for you. “Don’t worry, my love. I’ll be with you soon.” 

Rengoku 

It’s quiet, too quiet even. You should be back by now, the sun has fully risen. Kyojuro’s heart is hammering in his chest, doom creeping up his spine. He has an unshakable bad feeling about your late arrival. His worst fears are confirmed when your crow arrives without you. “No…” breathless, as if all the air is being ripped from his lungs. “Don’t say it…” his knees are giving out as your crow lands on the wooden porch. “T-they’re gone…aren’t they?” he chokes it out, the words are as bitter and burning as bile. Your crow only caws, soft and full of sorrow, unable to share the proper message as Kyojuro begins to sob. He’s curling in on himself, crying so loudly but unable to hear it due to the intensity of the ringing in his ears. It’s a panic attack manifesting in the most intense form. He can’t fathom a world without you, nevermind having to live in one. Senjuro is rushing to his brother's aid, seeing your crow gives him more than enough information to know as tears well in his eyes. 

Tengen

He’s kneeling dutifully outside of Nezuko’s room, Shinjuro by his side. His wives are inside, too stubborn to sit out and not help at all. Their excuse being that Nezuko saved his life, they owe her the same kind of protection now. You on the other hand, were too determined, leaving your retirement to fight the battle against the demon lord himself. Nothing Tengen nor his wives said could convince you to stay on the sidelines. His heart is sinking the moment your crow appears in the distance, he’d recognize it anywhere. “N-no… don’t you dare…” Tengen’s voice is cracking as it lands, Shinjuro is turning his head the other way, knowing what is to come. “Don’t you dare say they are dead…” his voice is rising in his panic, he knows the answer. The commotion has Makio, Suma and Hinatsuru running outside. The moment Hina’s eyes land on your crow, a violent sob escapes her chest, falling to her knees as Makio and Suma come to the same conclusion. “T-they’re dead…aren’t they?!” Makio sobs, Tengen can’t raise his head as your crow delivers your final message. 

Mitsuri 

She’s frozen in place as a crow comes directly for her, fear is ebbing through her body, a cold sweat forming on her brow. She knows the message before the crow can even utter it. “No! Go back! I don’t want to hear it!” Obanai is frozen beside her, grabbing her arm so she doesn’t collapse. The crow circles around her, cawing woefully as she begins to cry. “I-I don’t want to know! Don’t tell me!” she’s hiccupping as Obanai tries to pull her forward, they need to keep moving. “Mitsuri…” his voice is surprisingly soft, the crow is still circling overhead. “We need to hear the message…” she shakes her head, hands coming up to cover her ears as tears slip down her cheeks. The crow caws again, Obanai signals for it to deliver the message. “CAWWW! L/N Y/N IS DEAD! THEY DIED AFTER AN ALTERCATION WITH UPPER MOON ONE!” The crow continued on about who lived and who died, what was important is that upper moon one was dead. That didn’t matter to her though, no she couldn’t even hear the rest of the message over the ringing in her years. Mitsuri let Obanai tug her along, they needed to keep moving at whatever the cost. 

Muichiro 

“CAWWW! L/N Y/N IS DEAD!” He keeps running, uncertain as to why he feels a tightness in his chest at the crow’s message. “THEY DIED DURING A CONFLICT WITH UPPER TWO!” He’s still moving, more so concerned over his unexpected and overwhelming sadness. Why am I sad? I don’t even remember that name… but then your kind smile is flashing before his eyes and the world is crashing down around him. He comes to a screeching halt, eyes wide as he finally pieces together the message. “y/n…” how could he ever forget? Before he realizes it, he’s sniffling. Tears blur his vision for a moment before he blinks them away. He begins to move again, the sadness gripping his chest is slowly fading, fading until he can’t even remember why he got teary eyed in the first place. He needs to remember the task at hand… where was he heading again? 

Obanai

The flapping of wings catches him off guard, head craning upwards as the crow begins to caw. The noise is full of sorrow, which can only mean it bears bad news. “Obanai…” Mitsuri is watching the animal circle above them, her heart pounding erratically at the endless possibilities of the message it may share. “CAWWW! L/N Y/N IS DEAD! THEY DIED IN BATTLE AGAINST UPPER MOON ONE!” Obanai’s feet are slowing, hitting the floor beneath him with a little too much force as the message rings through his head over and over. “N-no… oh… Iguro I…” Mitsuri is crying, staring at the man beside her as the world seems to cave in on him. It’s as if everything is in slow motion for a few beats in time. The words the crow uttered felt foreign, your name paired with ‘dead’ didn’t make any sense in his mind. It was impossible really, there was no way you were dead. You had gone to face Upper One with Gyomei, Sanemi, Muichiro… four hashira against upper One and you didn’t make it? You were so strong… no the message can’t be correct. “Kanroji… let’s keep moving.” he’s turning it off, every swelling emotion is being suppressed as he takes off again. Mitsuri is left with no choice but to wipe her tears and follow. 

Sanemi

Upper Moon One is standing before him, Gyomei at his side. This battle needed to be won, if not, everything would be lost. The demon before him needed to be put down, there was no other option. He’s talking, but he couldn’t be bothered to listen. Rather, Sanemi is gauging every vital point he can strike and how to go about doing it. “CAWW! I BRING A MESSAGE!” he doesn’t glace up, nothing that crow could say would be able to break his focus. “L/N Y/N IS DEAD!” except for that. Sanemi inhales deeply, eyes widening significantly as he debates on if he heard the message correctly. “THEY DIED DURING AN ALTERCATION WITH UPPER MOON TWO! UPPER MOON TWO IS NOW DEAD!” it feels as if all the air in the room had been sucked away with the crow’s flapping wings. Upper One no longer seemed smug about the message after the addition of Upper Two being defeated. Beside him, Gyomei is crying. Sanemi doesn’t realize it, but so is he. He’s oblivious to the hot, angry tears rolling down his cheeks. Still, his patience remains intact, waiting for Gyomei’s signal to attack the high ranked demon. Now, he has absolutely nothing to lose. Kagaya is gone, now you are gone, it is likely the rest of the Hashira wouldn’t make it out of this… he has nothing left to fight for. 

Gyomei “CAWWW! L/N Y/N IS DEAD! THEY DIED AFTER ENCOUNTERING MUZAN!” Tears flow freely as he fights, part of him wishes he hadn’t been able to hear the message in the first place. You had met the unfortunate fate of encountering Muzan himself. It was likely that you were alone, if you weren’t, you were likely the strongest in your group. It pained him, knowing you likely died a brutal death. That pain fueled his attacks, taking every ounce of heartbreak and despair out on the demon before him. You didn’t deserve that, nobody deserved a fate that cruel. He keeps moving, mind reeling yet completely focused. It’s as if he is fighting in a bubble, the world muffled around him yet perfectly clear all at once. Too many emotions are raging through his soul to really pinpoint just one of them. He can only hope you’ll wait for him on the other side, he can only pray you’re watching over him at this very moment. Guiding him, giving him strength. “I’ll meet you again soon, don’t worry. I promise I won’t keep you waiting much longer. Wait for me, please? You will, won’t you?”

Ngasuh anak-anak mengenalkan kendaraan umum

First stop St. Bandung

Hari Jumat, nenek masih libur ngajar dan nemo jg belom masuk sekolah pertamanya. Diajaklah kami jalan-jalan ceritanya mau pake kendaraan umum tapi tripnya ngga jauh2 amat. Ibu, adik, ponakan, aku dan anakku. Karena para bapak2 semuanya harus kerja jadi kita aja cewe2 berlima.

Kita pergi pagi bgt sekitar jam 8an, ceritanya mau naik kereta api ke st. Padalarang dari st. Bandung. Tancaplah kesana parkir mobil di st. Bandung, dapet tiket kereta jam 9an. Anak2 happy naik kereta, terutama ponakanku yg baru pertama kali naik usianya masih 2thn 3bln. Di perjalanan mereka nyanyi2, ngemil terosss, liat2 pemandangan sekitar. Sampe jg di st. Padalarang total perjalanan kurleb 45menit.

Rencananya masih pagi kita mau liat situ ciburuy anu laukna hese dipancing cenah? Atuh etamah lagu bubuy bulan euy.. Mau coba ngangkot kesananya, padahal deket tp gara2 macet jd lama bgt, plus anak rewel karena kegerahan ngga nyaman, kaca angkotnya gabisa dibuka :( sampe lah di situ ciburuy, indah ya pemandangannya, liat air tenang so soothing and calming kana soca. Disana ada saung2 resto buat makan2, jajan2. Kita order es kelapa aja sambil istirahat melihat pemandangan situ wuih~

Selepas dari situ, kita lanjut ke Big Bad Wolf (BBW) annual book exhibition yg selalu bertempat di area Mason Pine itu, di Kota Baru Parahiyangan. Ini kali ketiga aku dan anakku kesana dan mreka jg baru ngadain 3x disini biasanya selalu di jkt. 2019, 2022, 2023 (sempat kepotong pandemi selama 2 thn). Biasalah nyetok buku anak setahun sekali haha. Adikkupun beliin untuk anaknya. Tahun ini aku ngga sekalap tahun lalu, cukup bisa di rem impulsifnya wkwk. Yaa abis gmn ya bukunya bagus2, supergemes apalagi buat anak gmn ngga kalaaapppp.

Dari BBW maksi ke ikea, ngegrab deh deket bgt. Beneran cuma ikut makan dan solat dzuhur yg telat bgt. Abistu kita pulangnya pake bus, skrg udah bayar bisa pake Qris. Wkt pertama naik bus masih trial, gratis haha. Pullnya memang di ikea jadi kita tinggal naik aja, mayan ini gembolan makin banyak mana bawa buku anak2 yg hardcover smua ya makin berat dong.. Ribet memang mana naik kendaraan umum hahaha seru tp ribet deh demi ngasuh anak2. Akhirnya kita turun dkt st. Bandung tmpt parkir mobil kita, shelter terdekat situ di SMA pasundan kebon jati, tinggal jalan dikit nyampe deh parkiran st. Bandung.

Fiuuuhhhh.. Alhamdulillah nyampe rumah lelah juga yaa tapi hepi, ortu hepi kalo anak2 hepi.. Luuvvvvvv

I'm really noticing progress with Japanese at the moment! On Wednesday I managed to do my italki lesson almost completely in Japanese :D Don't get me wrong, it was all very simple and I didn't understand everything and I certainly didn't say much unprompted, but I did my best to work around words I didn't know, and I recognise a lot more words.

I had a lot to do this week. So... I procrastinated by organising my Japanese vocab 😅 I found my old excel spreadsheet with kanji from back when I was first learning Japanese and I transferred a bunch of it to my Anki decks, as well as copying over my Anki words into my spreadsheet and marking it as know/kinda know/don't know. I have nearly 500 words in there (not all the words I've learned, and I don't know all of the words there).

I'm also really enjoying Renshuu! It's definitely a much better app than Duolingo. I kinda want to keep up Duo until I've got all the monthly badges for this year as that was a bit of a goal I set myself... I've already got November's, so I just need December's. But after that I'm probably just gonna let my 800ish-day streak go. I've definitely given the whole learning path thing a fair shot and it's just too boring and inflexible and repetitive.

I'm feeling the effects of not engaging with Norwegian so much though... before, it was super easy for me to switch from English to Norwegian brain, but now when I read Norwegian my brain feels... slow. Like the blood in it is gloopy and not getting to the places it needs to be fast enough. But I'm so busy and Norwegian is unfortunately quite far down my priority list :( For one more week the studio showcase has to come first, and then Japanese. Once the showcase is done on Satuday I can spend a little more time on Norwegian, but Japanese will still have to come first, of course.

All this being said though... perhaps I'm just overwhelmed with showcase things and teaching (I've suddenly had more bookings again after a little lull) and fun little kana crosswords are simply easier and better at holding my attention that my usual scientific/news articles in Norwegian. So maybe that's why I'm struggling with Norwegian more than Japanese atm.

Paano routine mo sa exercise mo ginagaya mo ba yung mga program na pinost sa youtube? - ✨️fitfam member din ako

I suggest if hindi mo kaya financially yung nasa youtube, wag mo na gayahin yung ginagawa nila. Ako kasi personally gumawa ako sarili routine kasi hindi ko kaya yung sa kanila. 😅 ganito sakin -

12k steps or more (8 kilometers)

1 or 2 big meals per day tapos oatmeal na or fruits (kulang sa nutrients ang oatmeal ha)

1 hour work out - more in upper body ako tapos dumbells lang meron ako so nag improvise nako.

Tea, nag withdrawal pa ko nito dati kasi di ako sanay.

6 - 7 hours sleep (due to mentally eme ko minsan di ako natutulog ng 2 days or 3 so may araw ako 1 day na tulog straight 24 hours)

Follow mo calorie intake mo padin, tapos less carbs ka. Tandaan mo matagal matunaw sa tyan pag protein. Regarding sa sweets, alak, at foodtrip pede padin naman yun basta may calorie banking kana...kunwari naka intermittent fasting ka naman tapos marami kana calorie burn ng ilang araw, pede kana mag mukbang with friends after that. Wag mo masyado restrict sarili mo, papayat ka padin naman at mag gagain ng muscle as long as tuloy - tuloy ka. Ayun lang!

Edited: basta 4 or 5x a week magawa mo yan okay na. Di naman badly needed na araw - araw as long as di ka sasali century tuna body hahahahahahahahaha.

March 29, 2021 - first exposure mo kay bunso. Ang sabi ko nun sa sarili ko, natatakot ako kasi immunocompromised ka eh, na mahina ang katawan mo. Nagpaswab ang buong family pero turned out na positive kami and ikaw and si papa ay negative. Nagtanong ulit ako sa sarili ko, bakit po nangyayari samin to? And your first symptom fall last April 2, 2021. Simple cough. Pero sabi mo ok ka lang, hindi ka nahihirapan huminga. (Pero kasi kilala kita eh, may nararamdaman ka pero hindi mo sinasabi kasi ayaw mo na nahihirapan kami) pero that time naman nasa quarantine facility ako. Kaya hindi kita mamonitor ng tama. Pero alam ko andyan naman si papa nun para imonitor ka. Then dumating ung araw na nagpersist ang symptoms mo. April 6, 2021 you've tested positive. :( then still nasa quarantine facility ako at hindi kita makasama. Everyday nagkakasymptom ka na. Then always mo sinasabi samin magkakapatid na miss mo na kami, miss mo na ung ingay namin sa bahay, ingay ni zoe sa bahay, yung mga foodtrip natin. And always mo kami chinecheck sa quarantine facility kung ok lang kami at para sabihin na uwi na kami, na magsama sama nalang tayo sa bahay magpagaling, na palagi mo sinasabi na "love u all". Ganyan ung palagi mong text samin nun. Tapos akala ko ok na, then dumating ung time na iniwan na din tayo ng father mo. Hinding hindi ko alam paano ko sasabihin sayo yun. Sa tagal mong nanghihirap naadmit na kita and sobrang nagpapasalamat ako nun. 🙏 then everyday may nararamdaman kang sakit, hirap sa katawan mo. 4x kang naghemo perfusion + dialysis alam kong napapagod ka nun, na nanghihina ka. Then last friday April 17, 2021 nakipagusap ka samin na para kang walang sakit. Ang sabi nun "gusto mo na umuwi, na gusto mo ng jollibee spaghetti tsaka pineapple juice, then ang sabi mo nun kay zoe na miss mo na sya, na mahal mo sya, na ipagluluto mo si zoe sa birthday nya". Then tuwang tuwa ung mga kausap mo nung araw na un kasi tumatawa ka na parang wala kang nararamdaman. Then after your dialysis and hemoperfusion, nanghina kana, sinabi sakin ng nurse nun na nagtoxic ka sa dialysis. Natatakot na ko nun. Kasi bakit nagkakaganun, then all your laboratory is flactuating. Hindi ko na alam gagawin ko, kasi always mong sinasabi sakin na masakit ang likod mo, na nahihirapan kang huminga, na sobrang irritable ka dahil sa likod mo, dumating pa yung point na hirap na hirap kang sweruhan kaya hindi mabigay ung mga gamot mo. Then April 18, 2021. Pag gising ko bigla lang kitang naisipan sweruhan then thank you Lord kasi naka-in ako, and ayun nabigay na ang mga pain meds mo pero still nasira na naman ang iv line mo. :( dumating ung point na need ka ng i cut down. Andun ako, hawak ko kamay mo habang inaassist ko si dra. Hirap na hirap din sya and nagdadasal ako na sana makabitan ka na para mabigay na ang pain reliever mo. Then finally mama nakabitan ka ng iv access. And ayun, still sakit na sakit ka sa likod mo, na hindi mo maintindihan ung pain, nagwawala ka nun buong araw hanggang gabi, na sinasabi mo palagi na "nay, tay, sama na ako". Yan palagi mong sinisigaw mo nun. Sobrang natatakot ako, kasi alam kong hirap na hirap kana. Then April 19, 2021. Hindi kana gumising 😭😭 sabi namin diba laban lang? Na kaya natin to? Na kakain pa tayo ng mga gusto mo? Na gagala pa tayo matapos

Ang sakit sakit, ang hirap hirap. Pero naniniwala ako na masaya kana kung asan kana, alam ko na wala ka ng mararamdamang cramps, hypotension, hypertension, headache, hypoglycemia, fever and chills. Alam ko, hindi mo na mararamdaman ung pagtusok ng karayom sa bawat access mo, sa every month na laboratory, sa everyday medicines, sa 3x a week na dialysis, sa 2-3months blood transfusion. Alam ko wala ka ng pain. Alam ko masaya kana mama. Alam ko nakikita mo ko ngayon, alam ko na nakikita mo ko na umiiyak pero mama, pagbigyan mo muna ako umiyak please? Ang sakit sakit kasi eh. Wala akong nagawa. Wala akong nagawa para gumaan ang pakiramdam mo. 😭😭

Mahal na mahal kita Mama ko!!!! Maraming salamat sa lahat lahat, and sorry sa mga araw na nasusungitan kita, na sisigawan kita, sa mga araw na nagkakatampuhan tayo. I'm sorry! Mamimiss ko yung araw na ako ang nurse mo sa dialysis, na hirap na hirap kang buksan ang isang balot ng bread sticks, ung paglalaro mo sa tab mo, ung panonood mo ng mga teleserye mo, ung mga text mo na asan na ako kasi hinahanap na ako ni zoe, na minsan nanglalambing ka sakin na uwian kita ng jollibee spaghetti, jollibee burger.

Mama!!! Andito ka palagi sa puso ko, sa puso namin. Mahal na mahal kita!!! Please guide us always and kami na ang bahala kay papa. Please rest in peace and see you in my dreams 😭😭

Wow, a lot can change in about a year, huh. I was there for TB2, but tapered off it and TB1 sometime for real-life reasons, just before the Girls Gone Astray event in 2… but I’ll leave my thoughts for the end of this (the playthrough).

With version 5.5.3, Terra Battle now has an ending. For the most part, I’m going to be aiming just to finish that. I got to chapter 36 before I stopped playing, so chapter from now to at least chapter 34 will be several versions behind. But nevertheless, onwards:

Chapter 30: Rising World – “The will of countless creatures great and small converges into a single purpose: to protect the future.”

30-1 They live solely for vengeance.

Things are coming to a head, now.

30-1 is five rounds of these two enemies. They aren't too out of the ordinary. The Oxsecian Striker’s Rocket Force move doesn’t do damage, just displaces your units.

30-2 The rancor that has festered in their souls for so long.

The Oxsecian ship unleashes its weapons en masse on Animata, intent on retribution.

This is the day they will finally purge themselves of the rancor that has festered in their souls for so long.

A new face among the two enemies seen in 30-1: sentient space junk! They appear in the second, fourth, and fifth battle alongside some other mooks. Take care of the Oxsecian enemies while hopefully staying out of range of the Space Debris’ status-inducers. 

Of the two, sleep is less annoying, so it’s not a bad idea to bring someone with Panacea (at the very least, Palpa will have it, but there’s also have Eileen and Gatz or Sheena w/ Cleansing Caper), or even just Locomotion (Palpa again, but Bonna and Kana are notable for having it while also having Paralysis Ward. Kana’s A class so most people likely have her anyway). 

Of course it’s a complete non-issue if you get rid of them first and/or stay out of the AoE, but it never hurts to be careful.

30-2 introduces this, the sword counterpart to the other.

30-3 The king does not budge.

Three battles this time: Space Debris/Oxsecian Bladebots make up the first and third battles; latter is notable since there’s 10 Bladebots to deal with.

30-4 With a subtle, slithering movement.

This introduces the Oxsecian Spearbot. Fairly self-explanatory.

There are no Space Debris in this stage; just Bladebots, Spearbots, and Strikers.

30-5 The sound of a massive explosion rips through the air.

This battle is of spear-enemies, so if you’re not overleveled like my crew, arrows are better.

This enemy is introduced here, and I guess is notable because it has Solar Wind, the at-the-time strongest Fire elemental spell (at 3x damage). Its in a cross range, so I guess be aware.

30-6 Shield with Animata.

Four battles this time. There’s another new enemy: another Elemental Spinner, this time ice-typed, with Absolute Zero, Cross (1).

30-7 Trust in me, overworlders!

There aren’t any Elemental Spinners here; just fights against Oxsecians.

30-8 Their collective will is sublimated into radiant life.

Before the battle starts, you get the message above. What this does, as you may notice, is fill up the Powered Point gauge to near-full. 

There’s only one battle in this stage; the boss is the Oxsecian Fighter EX (as noted by the 4x4 square), with a whopping 16 Oxsecian Strikers backing them up. For the most part, though, it’s not too bad: its moveset is really simplistic, with the only skill you have to be concerned about being Missile Barrage.

It helps that the mooks have a number of turns before they act, giving you time to pincer them and create some breathing room. They’re all staff, so no circle of carnage advantages. For a pack like this, you’d probably want at least one mage for their AoE attacks.

Its laser attack is column only, so just stay out of range.

It will telegraph when it’s about to use Missile Barrage, saying sth among the lines of “Missile Launchers open”; you have a turn to prepare, heal, etc. If you bring anything that has an Ice attack, this will happen, making it lose its turn. 

After that, it’s just a matter of chipping it down and any other Strikers it summons. Finally, it can drop Dark Matter and/or Mantle Helixes.

30-9 The power of will evokes a miracle.

The formidable will of the humanoids rouse an even greater power: the beasts that inhabit this world you once dubbed Planet Beastbait.

Humanoid and beast alike stand ready to confront the alien threat.

The resolve to defend their home--and the home of future generations--converges into one will, transcending ecosystems and the planet itself.

The will of countless creatures great and small converges into a single purpose: to protect the future.

As one, they raise their voices in a thunderous rallying cry to that future.

Hmm... 

After that fight, 30-9 returns to the 5-battle stage. Another Elemental Spinner is introduced. Good thing there’s no elemental mixing and matching.

Ba’gunar was helpful for dealing with them, with both type advantage + summoning capsules. If you’re not like me and have great luck, managed to pull someone like Samatha or Jennish – even better.

As an aside, there’s a chance of nabbing a Demon’s Badge otomo from this stage. Its evolved forms eventually provide Death Ward, self – which has some niche uses, I guess!

30-10 AND SO WE RETURN TO ZERO!

Everyone was too caught up in the battle to notice they vanished. But then, perhaps it isn’t a surprise they came back given what we’ve seen of them in previous chapters…

Before the battle even starts, we see each member of the Zero Series fuse together into…

6ZOO. He’ll always start the battle with Cyclone, Area (1), which does damage and knocks units back. At level 99 with those stats, he’s pretty beefy.

He has Counterattack, but it will always proc when pincered. He also summons two mooks too after using Cyclone; in fact, he follows a pattern of: Cyclone > summon two mooks matching its type > switch weapon. The weapon type switches from Sword (default) > Spear > Bow > Staff, then repeats.

The Staff form is notable because 6ZOO doesn’t summon anything, but will spend a turn preparing to use Quake, All. It’s one of the reasons I brought Gatz.

The mooks aren’t too bad, but their attacks can add up as 6ZOO beats your team down. As you clear them, take note: 6ZOO will use Supporting Fire whenever one of the mooks is pincered. Keeping health topped up is seriously important, and this is with a mainly B-class team that’s near his levels. (Fun fact for non-vets: levels used to be maxed out at 70.)

Once you wear it down, it says this…

…and transforms again, recovering HP and becoming even more monstrous! This time around, it stays Staff-typed, but switches elements around. As it does, it not only summons corresponding Elemental Matchers, but also absorbs attacks of the same element. 

Not a problem if you’re bringing a majority-physical team like I did, but…

A few turns in, you’ll get this message. It’ll telegraph the big moves, then follow up w/ the corresponding elemental aim attack (except when its Dark-typed):

An inescapable gravity field takes hold… > Black Hole

Crackling bolts cross and spread outward… > Tempest (Cross)

An inferno blazes up on both sides… > Wall of Hellfire, 1 row

A band of frigid air descends… > Icicle, 1 column

Watching and waiting… > Terra Panic, All (occurs at ~25-30% HP)

Tempest and Icicle are explanatory: they’re strong elemental attacks. Wall of Hellfire creates flames on the rows 6ZOO is on – it’s a really damaging stage hazard, though mercifully it only lasts a couple turns and can kill off the mooks. Black Hole transports two random units away for a few turns.

Terra Panic is its big move; it affects everyone with every status effect except Ice/Shadowbind and the Solar/Lunar related ones. As a reminder:

Poison: damages units for a few turns. (not bad normally because it never kills your units, but could potentially help the boss/mooks)

Sleep: units don’t act and can’t be moved for a few turns or until they take damage. (the least dangerous, but iirc they can still be shifted)

Paralysis: unit don’t act and can’t be moved for a few turns. (You can still shift them away, though)

Demoralize: unit’s physical attack and skill proc rate drops to 0 for a few turns; buffs still proc, while demoralized units can still use skills w/ a Powered Point (though physical attacks will hit for peanuts)

Confusion: unit moves around randomly, cannot be controlled, act in chains, or be used to pincer. (This one is pretty bad because your unit is useless until it wears off, and they can put themselves in range of attacks or run through Wall of Hellfire if it’s up)

Petrification: unit turns to stone, cannot be controlled, and can’t be shifted by other units. (IMO the worst status effect because it pretty much never wears off; your units get petrified for 99 turns! By then the battle is over, either with your units dead or the boss dead.)

This is why it’s good to bring along a Remedy character or two. I had Gatz (who has Sleep Guard, Adjacent and Panacea by J3) but Bonna comes to mind because her J1/2 teach skills that cure Petrification and Paralysis while she herself gets Petrification/Paralysis Ward, but again, there’s Palpa. Just hope she doesn’t get petrified…

I was lucky to not get petrified, but this was pretty bad, too. Everyone was a sitting duck while Sorman and Zan were off who-knows-where after getting Black Holed.

Thankfully after that, things are fairly smooth sailing.

 Now, onto the epilogue…

“This is no fault of your own. It is simply that I have chosen a brighter future. Forgive me.”

“Father…”

 A strange sound emanates from the Oxsecian ship.

“Sire, what have you done?”

 It was 6ZOO who set the Oxsecian Ship on its suicidal course.

He sought complete and utter destruction, even if it meant his own end. He desired nothing more and felt no attachment to life.

He was the perfect weapon, destruction incarnate. This was the mission assigned him by his king.

 But the king had realized the error of his ways.

“I have changed the ship’s course.”

“WH… WHERE TO?”

“Is there somewhere you wish to go?”

6ZOO does not answer. He has collapsed into a heap of inorganic material.

Animata is a massive technological life form. Humans, lizardfolk, beastfolk, stonefolk, and the children of the Oxsecians dwell within her. 

All of these are species created from DNA plundered by Animata in her travels. Each has a home world somewhere in the vast universe.

As anyone might do, they seek out their roots to discover their origins.

There’s something really poignant about that simple message, accompanied by that backdrop.

It’s been a long time coming, hasn’t it? With this, part one of Terra Battle is finally, finally complete. Though this may be done, there’s still more left to do. I’ll be putting up the table of contents for part one, and from there on it’s just catching up to my story progress in-game.

Finally: that final boss theme tho, god bless Uematsu. Fantastic track, in a game with great music. I actually remember getting some chills when I played through 30-10.

I’ve mostly been doing bits and pieces here and there with Norwegian this week. I’ve not really noticed any progress or lapses in progress, although I keep doing this thing where I think I don’t know a word while I’m talking or writing and then just in the nick of time it pops into my head. So I guess my active vocabulary is improving? That’s always good.

I do feel like my vocab needs more work, especially when it comes to speaking. Last week my italki tutor suggested I pick a topic to talk about and write some vocab beforehand to practise, which is actually a pretty good shout. So what I might do is try doing some speaking at the start of the week, note down what vocab I’m missing, look it up and then talk about the same topic again later in the week. Looks like I might be talking about animals and pets given that’s this week’s theme!

Speaking of italki sessions, I fucked up and have managed to book myself two for this week (not that that’s necessarily a bad thing, but yeah I meant to space them out more lol). Different tutors for each session. I’m not sure whether I plan to keep using both or just stick with one or maybe shop around. I guess talking to lots of different people would mean I learn different things and I can practise talking about the same topic without them getting bored (or alternatively talk about different topics with different tutors and not feel bad that I’m forcing them to listen to me monologue about some shit they don’t care about), but it’s more difficult to build rapport with someone if you only chat with them once every other month or something, plus it’s more difficult for them to work out your learning style and how best to teach you effectively.

Japanese

I can now write all the hirigana from memory! There are still some kana I have to think about a bit, but I’m really proud of myself :) I also started learning katakana and I can now recognise most of them (although I do have to think a bit about them) and I can write the first 10 from memory.

This week I’d like to continue practising writing hirigana (maybe just the whole thing once every other day) and katakana (drilling each of the different characters with the aim of being able to write 20-30 from memory by the end of the week) as well as chill out with Pokémon (can I just say how much better literally everything is in the Japanese version? The voice acting, the theme song, the overall feel of the show... like the English dubs are so cringe sometimes)

I’m still working out how everything fits together with Finnish and Icelandic and Japanese. I’m considering putting Icelandic on hiatus for the time being as I’m not super motivated to learn it atm. I still want to keep up Finnish in a casual sense though. We’ll see.

Imunisasi DPT Sebagai orangtua baru, imunisasi DPT ini salah satu imunisasi yang bikin Andin dan suami deg degan karena efeknya bisa panas. Apalagi sebelum usia 6 bulan, ada 3x imunisasi DPT 😅 Andin dapat pengalaman baru meskipun pake yg ada efek panas, ternyata ga mesti panas jg ke anak, tergantung kekebalan tubuh si anak. Alhamdulillah Kana cuma sekali yang panas saat DPT 2. DPT 1 dan 3 ga ada panas sama sekali. Alhamdulillah. Andin jg ga tau kenapa Kana ga panas. Dimimikin udah pasti, yang Andin ingat pas DPT 1 dan DPT 3 setelah imunisasi Kana ga langsung balik ke rumah, pas DPT 1 nemenin bunda belanja dulu sebelum pulang. Pas DPT 2, setelah imunisasi malah main ke rumah kakak kian sampai malam wkwk. Apa karena jalan2 yaa mood jadi bagus jadi ga ngerasa sakit dan panas setelah imunisasi (?)
