The immense satisfaction of catching a Zangoose in Pokemon Y is unspeakable

For those who haven’t played or aren’t familiar with Pokémon X and Y, you can find a horde encounter of 4 Zangoose with 1 seviper or 4 Seviper and 1 Zangoose depending on the version in the game, when I was younger, I’ve always wanted to catch a zangoose but most of the games I played, it was unavailable and Pokémon Y was the only game I could catch it in, and Zangoose could only be encountered during horde encounters with seviper, sounds simple, all I have to do is ko all the seviper in the field and catch zangoose, right?

Wrong, absolutely wrong

Catching that single Zangoose is significantly more difficult because in these horde encounters, the 4 seviper in the horde are programmed to attack the zangoose in the field, which makes sense within lore but in excecution, it is extremely annoying, like it doesn’t matter if you ko’d even one seviper, the other 3 will still target the zangoose and will hit it at least 3 times in 1 turn until it reaches yellow hp, 4 if one of them uses wrap, so yeah not only are these seviper taking multiple hits on the single zangoose, but they also drain its health too, all in one god damn turn, no matter what, that zangoose will only faint in 2 turns, and no I can’t just simply throw a Pokéball at the zangoose because you can’t throw pokeballs in horde encounters if more than one wild Pokémon is on the field, another thing is that this horde encounter can also be annoying to activate because route 8 tends to have a habit of raining, several times a day, this is a problem because if you had a jar of honey or a Pokémon that knew sweet scent, you can’t easily trigger a horde encounter and will have to really on walking on the grass and hoping that the rng gives you a horde encounter of seviper and zangoose again. I remember back when I was 14, this encounter would constantly frustrate me until I eventually lost hope in trying to get a zangoose in this game. It also didn't help that I lost my original Copy of Y so for a really long time I just didn't have a way to play through the game again

However, there is a solution

After 10 years have passed along with me getting a new copy of Pokemon Y, I began to think about that wild encounter again, and I wanted to give it a shot again, especially with me now understanding Pokémon’s mechanics significantly more than I did back then, I thought, “hey what if I raised a Pokémon that learned follow me?” And that didn’t work because follow me only works for a single turn and I admittedly didn’t know that since I barely used that move, so after that didn’t work, I tried looking up a solution and I found out on Reddit was that the solution to catching that zangoose was to get a low level diglett with bulldoze to deal super effective damage on all of the seviper to one shot them and also having zangoose tank the damage since it only takes normal damage from ground type attacks, sounds simple, Right?

Even that solution has its own journey

First off, you can’t normally find a wild digglett in the wild, so you’d have to find a wild dugtrio, and breed it, and level up the newly hatched diglet until it learns bulldoze around level 18 to level 19, but if you didn’t have a ditto before hand like me, you’d have to go all the way to Pokémon village which can only be accessed through going through a forest dungeon which was personally a pain in the ass for me because I skipped a couple of trainers when I first went through there and I had to defeat them to make it to Pokémon village, though to be fair this step was especially a pain because It was starting to turn 3 am while I was doing this and I was really tired from the time I spent trying to raise a Pokémon with follow me and that didn’t work. So you could tell my impatience must’ve been very bad especially with route 8 raining almost every time I wanted to easily spawn a horde encounter. However after some much needed rest, I bred the dugtrio and diglett, and got a newly hatched diglett, leveled it up till it learned bulldoze and went back to route 8, this was the result of my efforts:

After all of these years, I finally did it, I finally caught a Zangoose in this game, 14 year old egg me would be so happy to hear about this.

I don't really have a nickname for her yet but already she has 3 affection hearts and I've maxed her attack and speed while super training, this is the only pokemon that i've properly maxed two of their major stats with in super training, she also has a lonely nature which is really good for Zangoose, I plan to use her in my future run of pokemon alpha sapphire, she's gonna be a star player in that run that's for sure

kalos or Alola! imagine watching contests on the hotel TV in kalos, trying desserts from famous restaurants! and having fashion shows with clothes with expensive boutiques. imagine seeing the sights in Alola and trying malasadas! watching alolan detective Laki on TV while winding down from a fun day on the beach. I would do anything to go to these places lol

The Leeanna Post

To start off, her full name is Leeanna Autumn Colette Turner, (but later becomes Woodrow due to her marrying Leon). Though sometimes she is called Lea by her childhood best friends Serena and Calem, Leon. (Pronounced: Lee-uh)

Her birthday is March 15th, making her a Pisces. She is native to the Kalos reigon, and was actually their Champion from the ages of eleven to twenty two. (More on why she left later)

When she was Champion, her team consisted of:

Leeanna is feisty, stubborn, impulsive, and sassy. But she's also quite clever, compassionate, loyal to those she loves, ambitious, determined, and quite a passionate lover.

She was born and raised in Kalos, being sent on a Pokemon journey by her parents despite not really wanting to yet. She never had the best relationship with her parents, especially since she grew up in nobility. She's a Baroness, and suffered quite a traumatic childhood. She developed claustrophobia at a young age, and strove to be a perfectionist to please her parents. She's an only child.

She's essentially the X and Y protagonist. She was the one to defeat Lysandre and take down the ultimate weapon, as well as defeating Diantha and taking her place. The only issue was that she never wanted to be Champion in the first place, and developed a terrible cocaine addiction at age seventeen.

Soon after her twenty-second birthday, her father forced her into an arranged marriage with a Count named Caspian, who she immedietly hated. He was cruel to her, telling her she would only be good as his wife. Naturally, she ran away to Galar soon after this to go live with her uncle.

But, this is where she meets Leon for the second time. They met before as children, since they both became Champions at a young age and saw one another at events. Leon was almost immedietly smitten with a celebrity crush, as Leeanna thought he was loud and annoying, even though he never told her about his feelings.

The two of them meet again and almost instantaniously hate one another. Their story is enemies to lovers, as I love angst >:3

But as time goes on, Leeanna replaces Opal as the fairy-type gym leader. You know what that means! She gets a new team, which is almost entirely female except for Espeon.

Sylveon, Primarina, Tinkaton, Alolan Ninetails, Florges, Mega Altaria, Alcremie, Espeon, and Dedenne.

She does eventually fall in love with Leon, and the two of them end up getting married. In the future, they have three children:

Dande (yes that is his name as a reference to Leon's Japanese name and also I just like the name) Who has dark brown hair, light tan skin, and golden eyes. He takes after his mother more than his father, and is a total mama's boy when he's little.

Auriella, who has tan skin, purple hair, and sea-green eyes. She takes more so after her father in personality, but did get her mother's sass.

Zinnia, who is pale like her mother, with light purple hair and golden eyes. She doesn't really take after either of her parents, being more quiet and reserved.

Don't really think it's going to beat out Legends of Arceus, Pokemon Mystery Dungeons Explorers of Sky, or Pokemon Colosseum, so sorry, not making a seprate poll for it.

Apparantly I missed out)

I didn't get Pokemon Go until 2017, as my phone at the time wasn't compatible with the game. I do still play Pokemon Go now, every day! Sure, it was a craze in summer 2016, but it didn't disappear and actually remained very popular. A lot of features have been added since. When the game launched, just Kanto Pokemon were available, now you can get Pokemon from every reigon; Johto, Hoenn, Sinnoh, Unova, Kalos, Alola, Galar, Hisui and Paldea. There are also regular themed events with increased spawns of certain types of Pokemon and increased shiny rates which keeps the game exciting, at least for me.

So Pokemon Go came out and I legit walked around for three hours in the dark, met like five of my neighbors also looking for Pokemon, and saw a grown ass man trudge into a pond. What a time to be alive.

Echo TV Tropes

One of Katie’s Pokémon hailing from the Kalos Reigon. Katie obtained Echo after she nursed him to health when he injured his wing. He had been one of her most devoted Pokémon ever since.

The Baby of the Bunch: Second to Rian the Riolu.

Because You were Nice to Me: He was a shy and timid little Noibat, injured and scared when Katie found him. However, after she had took care of him, healing his wing, he started to value her compassion and wished to join her team.

Cuddle Bug: Since had literally outgrew his Head Pet tendencies due to his size, Echo adapted to pulling Katie into a hug with his wings as a sign of affection and celebration of victory.

Do you ever wonder how fairy tales would change in the Pokémon universe?

Do only good guys have pokémon? Is bad guys having them the norm? Is the role of fairies played by pokémon? Do different reigons reference the existence of different Legendary and Mythical pokémon? Like, would Kanto and Johto have a tale about Celebi and Ilex Forest? Would Hoenn have an anthology of stories about people seeking out Jirachi to have wishes granted? Kalos having a tale about the first person to find Diancie?

I just want to know!
