What if the Chairman was Levan Draconia?
I was talking with Ell (@memoryoflife) about the theories of Crowley being Levan Draconia and all the symbolisms you can find in NRC with their similarities in structure to Briar Valley and the Fortress looking the same as the coliseum.
Then we starting talking about how this is Yana we are talking about. Would she make it so obvious that Crowley is Leavan? What if she was using Dire Crowley as a distraction. The truth subtly hidden among the clues? Thank you @prince-kallisto (our Crowley Connoisseur) for helping me find the scene where the chairman is mentioned.
So that got me thinking more, wasn't there a moment in which Crowley mentions a superior? And he very nonchalantly mentioned the Chairman as well, but why? Knowing how any little detail in this game can be a clue to the future books/revelations (History lessons, events, etc.), I can't help but wonder if this was one as well.
Because why suddenly mention the chairman, why not just introduce himself? So what if Levan was the chairman? Most, if not all, of the clues pointing towards Crowley being Levan can be used on the Chairman as well.
Now what do we know about Levan Draconia? He is the Left General, Meleanor's husband, he saved Lilia's NRC letter, he went missing on a diplomatic mission, and he wanted to strengthen relations between the humans and fae.
Additionally, he taught the fae the human language so they can communicate better. He seems the more level headed and future thinking of the three childhood friends. Thank you Mumble for going over Levan info with me (@irafuwas).
Knowing this, it would make sense if the Chairman was Levan Draconia.
It would explain the similarities in the symbolisms/fashion with see with Briar Valley, what if it was the Chairman who decorated/influenced it?
As Ell pointed out, it would be a strategic way to have Crowley to continue being in the game and have merch as well, especially if he was a pawn from the beginning.
This would also explain why Crowley is constantly looking for the Blot stones, and why in every book, he has someway/somehow influenced the OBs.
Because someone was telling him behind the scenes what to do and what to look out for, and with Levan's future thinking, this would fit.
This would also explain why Lilia does not recognize Crowley if Crowley was Levan because he isn’t.
(unless they are fraternal twins, that's why they dont look alike. It would explain the whole "why is he here?' line in history lessons too)
When I think about this, it makes me wonder even more. You know? Why such a offhand comment, unless there's a story element for it?
Levan being a Chairman would also explain him teaching the fae the human language because of his future-esque thinking.
Why he also saved Lilia's NRC letter because he knew what will happen in the future and who will play such roles.
Now this brings into question about Levan's Unique magic, what if his was opposite's of Lilia's?
Lilia's UM looks into the past/memories, so what if Levan's looks into the future? This is why he cared about the relationship between human and faes, why he saved the letter, etc.?
But then you can't help but wonder, where does Meleanor play a role in this? Did she know? What is her UM?
Did she sacrifice herself knowing this future? And that's why she was so confident about Lilia and Malleus?
Was she somehow saved?
And then we think about Levan, and if he is alive and knew the events, did he really let his wife die?
Let his friend live with the trauma of his disappearance, also take the risk of his child never being born and growing up so restricted?
Was this why Meleanor gave the "blessing' she did to Malleus?
(What if they knew about the events with Grim, was this their way of making Grim into a chimera? or maybe, just maybe, stop Grim?
because they saw all the people that Malleus and Lilia loved, and they wanted to save them?)
Wether Levan is alive or dead, the results will be devastating when we find out what happened to him.

Steve is awoken at like 3 in the morning by an incessant pounding on the door.
He shuffles into his slippers and pads down the stairs, baseball bat in hand just in case.
At the door is a weary, dishevelled Billy Hargrove who looks like he’s on the verge of collapse.
Steve, alarmed ushers him in.
Sara Harrington, who was never exactly the heaviest sleeper, is already downstairs, peering at Billy with concern.
She leans down to his level, already splayed across the couch and makes a halting attempt at the language she hates so much.
Billy, shockingly, responds in imperfect but recognisable Yiddish before passing out.
Sara’s response is both deeply troubled but also has undercurrents of relief woven in.
“You never told me you found a Jewish friend.”
Well, friend is a stretch and Steve had no idea until about 5 seconds ago that Billy was anything but Irish Catholic.
Joshua finds out three hours later, when he wakes up to find a boy he doesn’t know at his dining table.
That makes Billy freeze, hairs standing on end in the middle of reaching for a pastry.
He only relaxes again when Steve’s dad makes a terrible joke about breakfast food and sits down, completely unfazed.
Steve manages to park himself right next to Billy, frantically whispering as he tries to figure out what the fuck is going on.
Billy’s response is a shrugged “dad found out I still practiced and kicked me out”, as if that isn’t one of the most horrific things Steve has ever heard.
Billy joins them for Shabbat that evening, as it’s a Friday. It’s clear he’s the real deal and that leaves Steve’s head swimming with questions. Why the fuck did a man so obviously bigoted marry a Jewish woman?
They smoke together peacefully on Steve’s driveway, Billy blowing out a long billow of smoke up into the night sky. He shifts slightly closer to Steve. Almost looking like he might reach out but then moves away.
Billy moves in permanently with the Byers. Steve sees him frequently at Temple, bantering with the Rabbi. It’s weird but seeing him in this environment, Steve could never picture him anywhere else.
Steves not got a crush or anything. He just daydreams about kissing Billy after he gets back from Rosh Hashana services. Normal guy stuff.
One night Billy climbs through his window. He just wants someone to talk to. Joshua and Sara are out on a business trip so Steve puts on Bronski Beat and they dance. Sensual. Steve’s head is on a fairground ride.
He’s pretty sure Billy leans in quickly to peck him on the lips but it’s so brief it might have been a dream.
It all kind of snowballs from there.
Certainly in terms of pseudo (?) romance. Which Steve isn’t complaining about
Steve thinks he may be sleepwalking. He flips through pamphlets about coming out and all of them inevitably point the same flashing arrow straight to him.
There’s a lump in his throat when he comes out to his parents. They’re so supportive, almost aggressively so and it makes Steve’s heart swell.
Coming out to Billy is a different kettle of fish. Steves fully aware that he’s obfuscating the matter, especially with the way he’ll lean into Billy’s touch but it’s just scary. Terrifying really.
Eventually though, he concedes.
Billy’s managed to get him into the backseat of the Camaro. It’s nowhere near as x rated as particularly Robin was expecting, more just second base. Something like that.
Steve finally manages to break away from the kiss and declare “I think I’m gay”.
Billy’s face says no shit but he’s not a dick about it. Instead, he motions for Steve to go on.
There’s a lot of cliches Steve could use. A fuck ton. But he keeps it brief.
He mumbles that he loves Billy and waits for the other shoe to drop.
It never does. Not really.
Billy just says it back. And they carry on.
This isn’t quite a Pesach or Chanukah fic but tysm @kallisto-k and @slime-hoe for your lovely comments, I hope this Jewish Harringrove is ok

content warning for implied slavery in netherborne
nimona centaur au @twyrewolf, @allofthebeanz, @stonemaskedtaliesin
“I was afraid you’d say something like that. Saints help that poor man.” And with that, she opens the door.
Regardless of her feelings on the centaur, Nimona can’t deny that seeing Ballister Boldheart in real life for the first time is strange. He’s pixels in the shape of another dickhead on TV, he’s ink on a propaganda poster, he’s a name on her squireship paperwork. And also, apparently, he’s an actual flesh-and-blood seal brown warmblood standing in the doorway, looking right at her as they breathe the same air.
Not that she’d in a thousand years admit that. She holds his gaze, stone-faced, and does not stand.
“Sir Boldheart,” the Matron greets, moving to the side as she holds the door open.

“A…Arrhythmia,” Skye whimpers.
“So she’d be cheap, that’s something.” He turns to address the room at large. “Any reason the rest of you would be?”
Prudence and Bertha glance at each other. “Uh- Jock said…”
“Her heart’s defective, I’m down an arm, and they’re untrained teenagers,” Jock rattles off. “Sir.”
“And I’ve got something else for you to hold against Takta,” Lydia says bitterly.
“Yeah? Spill.”
“Well- I saw him bringing those three in, and I tried to get him to help, so they asked if he knew me. He said I was a stray.”
The receding red rushes back. “Oh, that fucking- which one did he have?”
Lydia takes another step away from him. “Prudence and Bertha.”
“Yeah, cause I know their names!”

“Stop- stop looking at me like that, leave me alone!”
Ballister steps back, his hand raised. “Okay, Okay, sorry. I’m not gonna touch you, kid.”
“Back. Off.”
“I’m backing off, I’m backing off.”
She watches him, eyes locked on as he goes to join Ambrosius on the other side of the room. Again, he’s unnerved. Nimona has never been something he’d call predictable, but she is understandable, with practice. He can feel that understanding slipping.
Big white eyes watch him from across the room. Predator or prey, he can’t tell.
He supposes he and Ambrosius will just have to figure out how to go about breakfast with a rabid otter in the sink.
///
That night, it's Ballister’s turn.
He's woken by some sort of commotion from the direction of the bathroom, and blearily clambers out of bed. Nimona didn’t seem too bad when he turned in for the night, he could get within a foot of her at least, get more than one-word responses. Hopefully she’s just tripped, and she’ll be enough in her right mind when he finds her to easily settle.
What he finds is a little pink fawn sprawled on the bathroom floor, the room stinking of vomit.
“Oh, Nim,” he mumbles as he kneels beside her. “You with me, kid?”
Her eyes snap open, hazy for a moment, and then she locks onto him and immediately she’s scrambling to get her gangly fawn legs under her on the tiles.
“Whoa, whoa, it’s okay. It’s just me, you’re safe.”
She scrambles to the far wall, staring, legs splayed. Her mouth is hanging open, her breathing ragged, a small sliver of drool hanging from her lip.

It’s nice, he finds, to be able to consult the horse - too tight, too loose, too forward or back? Though, he could do without the teasing.
“What’s wrong?” she asks, with mock sympathy. “Don’t know how to fit a saddle, cowboy?”
“I’m still not a cowboy,” Ballister says, as he fastens her breast collar. He finds his eye drawn to the four-pointed star on her shoulder as he does. He’d assumed it was a compass when he first saw it, with the N standing for North, but now he’s not so sure.
“Is this a real brand?” he asks.
“Am I a real horse?”
“I don’t know why I bother.”
He walks a circle around her, giving the saddle fit one last look over, before he stops at her side. Only now does he appreciate how much his sheer panic helped him get on her back earlier - how on earth did he get his foot all the way up to the stirrup with the other still on the ground?

Behind the mask, she beams. “I always made Beej tell me about his jobs when he got back, so I picked stuff up from him. But that’s just his methods, I’ve done my own research too, and that wasn’t easy. The librarian’s filing system is actively hostile.”
“There’s an afterlife library?” Adam says, practically lighting up at the thought.
“Yeah, it’s great! Would be better if the librarian didn’t hate me.”
“Oh no, did something happen?” Barbab asks gently.
Lydia shrugs. “Well, since his system is so dogshit I just keep books I like ‘cause I’d never see them again if I returned them. We’ve both got our reasons.”
“Have you tried talking to him about it?”
She grimaces. “He’s way too fond of bringing up my bloodline for any decent conversations to happen.”

WIP Wednesday, October 16, filename #1
So, this was my first WIP Wednesday that I joined, and I absolutely loved it. Great motivation to just write for several WIP :)
The first WIP had the filename Remus coffee shop au wolfstar. Which is actually this; Brew & Biscuit Coffee Shop, ongoing fic on AO3.
Thank you @quietly-sleeping, @whimsicalmeerkat, @eriquin, @kalira & @kallisto-k for the request! (It was actually a part I was stuck on for forever, even though barely anything happens haha)
***
“Good morning sir, how are you today?” he greeted the customer as he continued wiping down the last few tables.
“I’m doing well, young man,” the male replied. Remus grabbed the tray with dirty dishes and carefully made his way back to the counter. He realised while walking he might need to grab his cane, since it felt like his leg was slowly being stabbed with needles again.
“That’s great to hear! What can I make for you today?” he continued. Placing the tray down a bit out of sight before moving to face the gentleman. It was a strange vibe that was coming off of him. A mix of curiosity, determination and suspicion. Remus had honestly no idea what the man could be suspicious about. Was he worried something would be put in his coffee? Was he supposed to recognise this man? He was suddenly terrified the man might be related to Sirius or James. The man was humming to himself as he looked at the information behind Remus.
“I’ve never gotten coffee before. I don’t bloody know,” the gentleman mumbled and Remus was taken aback for a second. It was the same voice, same accent. But a completely different way of talking. Maybe he wasn’t supposed to hear it. It was very jarring though.

wip wednesday 05/09 — “once more then we’ll be free”
thank you so much to @creative-girl @eriquin @post-and-out @wizisbored @whimsicalmeerkat @kallisto-k @anyctibius @stonemaskedtaliesin for your comments, I appreciate them so much for the motivation 🫶🏽💕
here are the 24 lines!
"Why not?" Newt asked, scrunching his hands into tight claws, pulling at the motheaten threads of his jumper. "It's what you wanted, isn't it—to be that again?”
"I didn’t. I promise, I didn’t—I was so miserable—“
Newt shook his head. “No, you weren’t. Everything was always laid out so perfectly for you, everything was better, everything—“
The dim kitchen bulb seemed to sharpen Theseus’s features. “This isn’t like you."
"How would you know?" Newt mumbled, avoiding his brother’s blue-grey eyes, swimming with an emotion Newt still felt too small and naive to understand. "You're never here anymore.”
"Because I’m working—because—no, no, never mind. I should be asking you what you want.”
"My brother.” Newt's voice cracked on the last word. "Not some—some substitute parent who's always tired and stressed and—and—"
"And what?" Theseus ran a hand through his already messy hair. "Trying his best to keep a roof over our heads, make sure you have food to eat, clothes to wear? Is that really so terrible?"
"Yes!" Newt said, baring his teeth, suddenly feeling more like a terrified animal than a ten year old at the prospect of the last person he had leaving. "Because it's—you—I don’t ever—people don’t change, not really, and the Ministry won’t want—a dropout who scraped through his NEWTs. They’ll want the old you, and—and you’ll give it, um, right to them.”

for @rainy-weather-supremacy, @oriharaizayadividesintoslytherin, @sourb0i, @spindoctor3875, @violet-prism-creatively, @wizisbored, @stonemaskedtaliesin, @lizhly, @kallisto-k:
from never love an anchor:
“Thanks for bringing me back,” Newt mumbled. “I get lost. Sometimes. Um, I don’t know why. I suppose the castle is quieter than—than the outside world. Oh, and—and I know you’re always at the Academy, now, so—so you should know Mum had the crutch again when she came to pick me up from the station. I think she’s taking something for the pain.”
“She came to pick you up?” Theseus asked, realising too late that it sounded a little jealous. “Wait. How do you know?”
Newt shrugged and chewed on the edge of his sleeve. “Recognise the bottle.”
“From where?” Theseus thought back to it, to the days when he’d made their mum’s medicines.
They’d always tried to do it out of sight of Newt, who’d been the closer child to Leonore, who’d cried curled into her side during her flare-ups, believing the lupus to be partly his own fault for being born. Or so Leonore had told Theseus, and Theseus had never been sure how to broach it with Newt. Maybe he’d said something; maybe he hadn’t. He was trying to survive the Academy in a different way. His instincts were altering.
They were on the platform, now, and he kept tracking the train out of the corner of his eye.
“The others—they’re bullying me, you know,” he said, even quieter than before, if that was possible. “At school. Not at home. They don’t know what to do at home.”
“I think Mum and Father are pretty out of practice with raising children,” Theseus said offhandedly, earning him a small smirk from Newt, barely visible. His brother didn’t turn around as Theseus continued: “Or, at least—well, we’ve never been normal.”
“Apart from you.”
He felt a glow of pride that almost horrified him. “Yeah.” He hesitated, and then took the plunge. “Is it bad? What are you doing about it?”
Newt stopped walking. He took a deep breath. “I knew that’d be the first question you’d ask. Like—like I can just fix it.”
“Well, no, maybe you can’t…” Theseus trailed off as Newt spun on his heel and took the trunk from him.
Thirteen years old. Newt was thirteen years old, now. Theseus knew his own letters had grown less and less fair, something in him jumping out at this abandonment, a frenetic irritation similar to those dreams. Those nightmares, really, where the house had been on fire and he’d been packing to leave it: where full disaster rested behind each decision he made, where everything had to be gathered and held close.
“It’ll be okay, Newt,” Theseus said. “Just—just study hard, and keep your head down. This—this will be different to before, remember? It won’t be like the other places. And if you can try to do well—“
Newt shook his head, slowly at first and then faster: a few clean jerks like a dog shaking off fleas. He batted at his head, his messy hair, and then let out a slow sigh. “No,” he said. Not angry, but something else. “No. No, Thes. I c—can’t. You don’t understand. You don’t understand what the lessons are like, what—what my marks—“
“They’re bad?” Theseus asked, concerned, staring at Newt to try to divine something simple from the complicated mix of emotions on his face. His training was making him precise at determining the subtleties and nuances of speech and body, but it was somehow harder when it was someone he knew so well—and now, was starting not to know well, at all. “Newt. You should have told me. I asked. I sent letters; I asked.”
The train whistle blew, startling him. Newt looked away, blinking hard, and began to haul his trunk towards the waiting carriage doors.

What's with this day? The divorce of Navier and Sovieshu happened and now the 2nd meeting of Penelope and Kallisto just got updated!!
Be real, most of you were looking at the percentage when you read this chapter (cause I was too XD)
The first meeting of all capture targets really made us think whose route will she go to. It just kept going up and down and it was really unclear whether it was Vinter, Regulus, or Iklies. (Yes. Derek and Reynold are always out.)
At first, I thought it was Vinter with the sudden 10%, but it felt like something was missing and you can see them more on friendly affections rather than romantic ones as chapters go by.
I bet on Iklies with the whole 'I chose you.' But I was really hoping for the relationship to be closer and thinking it might go a long way, but my girl has preferences PLUS *mumbles* (I was spoiled that Kallisto was gonna be the male lead ugh that damn comment section)
The fact that she doesn't look at his percentage first means she starting to not see him as a character or a capture target at all. Just a another person living the same world as her.
And I couldn't NOT feel that Kallisto was having fun teasing her subtly 🤣🤣 she got paranoid!!
Unlike how he was first portrayed, I don't think his fuse was that short. Why?
This simple interaction proved it. The only probable reason that he kills Penelope the most is... Because the original soul annoyed him. 😅
BURN 🔥🔥🔥🔥
(If the FL is another Trashta, she might be with the second prince and rebel against the crown prince 🤔)
Happy tears?

Star Girl
Written For: @tinyfelthat
Written By: @ktrsss1fics
Pairing: Niall / OFC
Word Count: 3,923
Warnings: -
Summary:
Elisheba Aut fell in love with Niall Horan almost immediately. She had traveled to the deepest corners of the universe and never saw anything as beautiful as him. When given the chance to travel the galaxy with her beloved boyfriend, will she say yes? A story about true love, foreign languages, and Niall Horan's star girl.
Star Girl - Missed Video Message (1)
He waited for the hologram to load. He hadn’t spoken to her in two days. He tried to get back to his quarters in time to see her but he was a few minutes too late.
Her face appeared above his personal communication device. She was wearing the moon rock necklace he had gotten on his trip to the outer region of the Gamma Rhogana system. It was the perfect shade of green. It matched the color her eyes turned in the early morning light.
“Niall, mo mhíle grá.” She said with a smile.
His heart skipped a beat as the words of his native tongue slipped past her lips. He hadn’t been to his home planet in what felt like forever. He didn’t know if he’d even recognize it.
His parents chose to leave when he was young. They headed to Tanith, the home of the High Council, and took jobs as interpreters for the government. It was noble work and he had always admired them for it.
Instead of helping people voice their opinions, he decided to protect them. When he came of age, he joined the Intergalactic Defense League. Through hard work and dedication, he worked his way up to commander and was now doing private security detail for the High Council.
In fact, that’s how they met.
Her name was Elisheba Aut but those who knew her well called her Lisa. Her story was simple. She came from a line of migrant workers. Her ancestors escaped war-torn planets and toxic dictatorships. After many years of searching, they ended up taking refuge on the lush jungle planet of Ogoul. Instead of joining the family health food business, she put herself through school and became an interpreter for the High Council.
She traveled throughout the galaxy helping people like her parents. She became the voice for the occupants of the smaller planets. She spoke 450 different languages - including four different humanoid dialects.
She was a work of art. She constantly made his knees weak. From the way her periwinkle skin glowed in the moonlight to the way her bright magenta hair looked in the early morning sun, he couldn’t get enough. Although she was physically beautiful, nothing could surpass her inner beauty. That had been passed on by the generations before her. Her blood came from the veins of warriors and poets. She loved fiercely and fought fair. She was a voice to the voiceless and believed in doing things for the greater good.
She truly was out of his world.
They first met at the annual High Council meeting. She thought he was a reporter there to take notes on the controversial order that a group of greedy leaders was trying to get passed. He thought she was a princess from Cebu, an aquatic planet known for beautiful women and extravagant starships. They couldn’t be more wrong. His rank left her stunned. A man of that stature could not protect the members of the High Council. But he did and he did it well.
When he first heard her speak, she was advocating for a group of leaders from the mountainous planet of Bianor. A language that took most people years to learn fell effortlessly from her lips. He realized that she was something special and it didn’t take long for him to fall for her. But that’s okay because she fell too - fast and hard.
They had been together for five years. Five years of travelling millions of miles just to spend a few nights together. It was difficult but somehow they made it work. During their third year, she was offered a job as the personal interpreter for a very influential member of the High Council. If she accepted, she wouldn’t have to rely on holograms and long shuttle rides to see her beloved. If she accepted, her job would change. She’d be no longer looking out for the underdog. She’d no longer be helping people like her parents and grandparents. She’d be helping a leader rule over millions of people. That didn’t sit right with her. As much as she loved Niall, she couldn’t do it. He understood but that didn’t stop him from being disappointed.
“We made it to Kallisto and we should be in Tanith by the morning. I miss you and can’t wait to see you, my love.” She said as a small yawn escaped.
He missed her dearly. The way her nose crinkled when she yawned. The way she spoke in her native tongue when she was mad. The way her hair smelled after a shower. He couldn’t believe it’d been nearly six months since they’d seen each other last.
Lisa played with her hair subconsciously, “Only one more sleep until I see your face.”
Niall looked at the clock on the wall. He still had six hours until her shuttle arrived. He knew he should sleep but his mind was wide awake. He kept his eyes on the face of the holographic girl sitting in his lap. He could not wait to hold her close.
She started to talk about a new job offer she had received but didn’t give up any real details about it. She said they’d speak about it once she arrived. He hoped it was something in Tanith so they wouldn’t have to spend so much time apart.
“Tá mo chroí istigh ionat.” She spoke before ending the call.
“Tá mo chroí istigh ionat.” He whispered to himself before placing the device on his night stand.
Those five words played in his mind as he stared at the ceiling. My heart is in you. He loved her deeply. He wanted to show her that. Maybe he’d find a different job to make the distance more attainable. Maybe he’d suggest going on vacation. They could take a trip back to Ogoul or Hibernia, just the two of them. Maybe he’d ask her to move in.
He didn’t know what he wanted to do but he knew he needed to do something. He needed her to know that despite the distance, she was his true love. His star girl.
Those six hours came and went. His alarm had been going off for nearly ten minutes before he stumbled out of bed. He quickly threw on his uniform and attempted to do his hair. His watch beeped letting him know he only had five minutes to make it across the station to the docking bay where her shuttle would be landing. He wasn’t going to make it in time.
The lanky lad jogged through the space station weaving in and out of people as he went. He headed for his favorite shortcut but it was blocked. Some sort of construction project was being done so he had to go the long way around.
Fortunately, Niall made it to the bay just as Lisa was exiting the ship. She grabbed her luggage from the bin that had been underneath the plane. She scanned the crowd before landing on his face. A happy smile fell upon her likes as she made her way over.
At first, they didn’t speak. He closed the space between them. His strong arms pulled her into a warm embrace. She buried her head into his neck. He loved the way she molded into him. He placed a kiss on top of her head. He had missed this.
“Hi love.” He whispered softly in her ear.
“You’re early.” She teased.
“I only overslept by ten minutes and not the usual twenty.” He replied dryly.
“You’re stepping up in the world, Horan.” She replied lifting her head from his chest.
“Are you hungry?” Niall asked looking into her eyes.
Lisa shook her head before stealing a sweet kiss. “I need to change for the meeting.”
“My shower awaits.” He winked making her skin grow warm.
“We can’t do that until after the meeting.” She said with a furrowed brow.
Niall let out a dramatic sigh. “I know.”
“Let’s go.” Lisa said pulling away from him.
He looked at her confused. She usually wasn’t this shy around him.
“I want to give you a proper kiss but don’t want you to lose your job over it.” She said interlocking her fingers with his.
“Elisheba, everyone knows.” He sighed giving her hand a squeeze.
“Still doesn’t mean they can’t fire you for fraternizing with a mere civil servant like me, Commander.” She said razzing him.
“You are a pain in the ass.” He mumbled trying not laugh at her joke.
Lisa tilted her head to the side, “What do you mean? I didn’t even touch you.”
“It’s just a sayin’ love.” He smiled before placing a quick kiss on her forehead.
Lisa was hands down the smartest woman he knew. The amount of languages she was fluent in was astounding. The amount of time it took her to learn all those languages was even more impressive. He knew a few different languages but he didn’t know them very well. He didn’t know how she kept each language straight. There were times, like right now, where she took things a little too literal. He knew she didn’t know any better but he still found it adorable.
She nodded slowly. “Like the cold shoulder. I understand.”
“Exactly baby.” Niall smiled sliding his arm around her shoulder. “Like cum mula peperit.”
Her eyes lit up, “You remembered!”
“Of course I did.” He said as they started to walk to his home. “I had a great teacher.”
“My mother used that phrase a lot when I was little.” Lisa said reminiscing about her childhood. Her native tongue was one she held close to her heart. “Especially with my uncles.”
“How are they doing?” He asked.
“Good. It is almost shuura season so they are all very excited for it.” Lisa said with a smile.
Shuura was a sweet yellow fruit that grew in abundance on her home planet. The season when they bloomed was her favorite. She remembered sitting in her grandparents’ kitchen with her brothers and sisters waiting to help sort through the harvest.
“Maybe she’ll send some to us again.” He said as they headed deeper into the station. “Or maybe we can just go visit.”
“Ogoul?” She said with a hint of excitement to her voice. “Really?”
Niall nodded. “I was thinking we should take a trip to Ogoul, Hibernia, and maybe somewhere like Traugantu to see those volcanic flowers you’re always going on about.”
“Canna Durban!” She chirped with a grin. “Oh Niall can we really? Can we go?”
“I’m do for some time off. What about you?” He asked as his living quarters came into view. He slid his arm off of her shoulder and grabbed her hand instead.
She let out a sigh. “I don’t know.”
“What about this new offer?” He asked placing his keycard in its spot on his door.
“I don’t know if I should take it.” She said hesitantly. “It’s a big responsibility but I wouldn’t be able to help out as many people as I do now. Or at least I don’t think I would.”
“What’s the job?” He asked allowing her to enter before him.
“You know Mandy?” She asked heading for the restroom.
”Yeah the main translator for the Council.” He said following behind her.
“She wants to retire and move to like the care sector so she can help take care of the Council members’ kids.” She said slipping out of her travel clothes. “So her job would be open.”
“That’s great.” Niall said watching her closely. He had every inch of her committed to memory. He wanted so badly, to recommit certain parts but there wasn’t enough time.
She slid on her top before peaking out of the doorway. “Mandy recommended me specifically to take her spot.”
“Really?” He asked surprised.
“Yeah.” She blushed. “Isn’t that crazy?”
“No. You’re great at your job. Anyone with eyes could see that.” He said crossing his arms over his chest. “She’s always thought highly of you.”
“That’s true.” She said searching for the rest of her uniform. “I just–I just don’t know. I don’t think I’m ready for that.”
“It’s the same job isn’t it?” He asked.
She mumbled an answer making him smile. He had missed her so much.
“You would have an advantage though.” He said as she shot a confused look in his direction.
She stood up. “How?”
“Mandy was born and raised in Tanith. She never ventured out. Everything she learned, she learned here.” He said walking up behind her.
“You have gotten so much experience being out in the field. You have traveled all over the galaxy learning new languages. And you have a spot spot for those nations that are underrepresented.” Niall said placing his hands on her shoulders. “You could change the way those meetings are run.”
“I’m just an interpreter Ni.” She sighed.
Niall placed his lips to the base of her neck. Her body relaxed into his. He placed a string of kisses against her exposed skin causing goosebumps to form.
“You are so much more than that baby.” He whispered before placing a kiss on her temple.
“I mean you would be a lot closer and I could see you more.” She said closing her eyes.
“Exactly. That is a plus.” He smiled.
“And the pay is significantly better.” She added. “And it would help my parents out more.”
“And Mandy specifically recommended you for it.” Niall said giving her shoulders a gentle squeeze. “And you know how Senator Abderos is about that shit.”
“I know. I know.” Lisa said opening her eyes and turning around.
He studied her face. For some reason, she looked older to him. It had only been six months but it felt a lot longer. He cupped her cheek, gently stroking her skin with his thumb. She nuzzled into his hand. His heart skipped a beat at her touch.
Niall had always heard women from Ogoul were different. They were often described as rough, crass, and a whole lot of trouble. The moment he met Elisheba Aut, he knew this couldn’t be true. She was gentle, caring, and humble. She was everything he could ever want in a partner.
With a slow breath, she made up her mind, “I think I’m gonna do it.”
“Perfect.” Niall smiled placing a deep kiss on her lips. “You’ll be absolutely perfect.”
“I love you.” She whispered as she pulled away.
He whispered back, “Amo te.”
Her eyes lit up. She had taught him some words from her native tongue. He loved to use them. Whenever he did, she fell more in love with him.
“Okay I really need to get ready.” She said pecking his lips. “So go away.”
Yes ma’m.” He winked as he left the room.
The rest of the day was spent discussing galactic safety standards and disaster protocol. Foreign languages were decoded and foreign dignitaries were protected. He was allowed to leave at six but she was asked to stay until eight. She didn’t mind though. She sat in Senator Abderos’ office filling out paperwork putting her transfer into place.
Lisa was moving on to bigger and better things.
She was going to have a better job with a better wage. She was going to be able to spend more time with her boyfriend. Most importantly, she’d be getting to help people in a different way.
A wave of excitement radiated from her chest. She couldn’t wait to tell her mother.
As she left headquarters, she founded her blue-eyed boyfriend waiting for her. His sleeves were rolled up and his hair was a mess. He was standing amongst a group of co-workers with a carefree smile plastered to his face.
She had missed that.
She missed the way his eyes crinkled when he laughed too hard. She missed the way he slid his arm around her shoulder when they were out and about. She missed the way he kissed her hand on the long walk back to his place. She missed his laugh, his smile, his face.
Another joke was shared before she caught his eye. With a nod of his head, he motioned her over.
“Commander.” She nodded making him blush. She turned to the others with a polite smile on her face and curtsied, “Gentlemen.”
Various forms of “Good evening Miss Aut” were thrown in her direction.
“Ready to go?” Niall asked softly.
Lisa nodded slipping her hand into his. Niall placed a quick kiss on top of her palm before giving his friends a quick goodbye.
The pair left the pod where all the official High Council work took place. They travelled through the clerk's quarters before stepping into a lift that would take them down to the ground floor.
“So, what’d they say?” Niall asked eager to hear about her meeting with the senator.
“Well they brought up Mandy retiring and how it would put them in a tight spot if they didn’t find anyone soon.” Lisa explained. “Then they asked about my schooling and experience on the job. Mandy brought up the invasion I prevented between the A'Fannaeans and the Paragons.”
The A’Fannaeans, a science-based society, found an undocumented moon in orbit near their planet. They planned to send out an exploration team to claim it as their own. However, it also orbited Parago, a desert wasteland. The Paragons were a very stubborn race. They could start a war at the drop of a hat. When the news of the A’Fannaeans plans hit the dunes of Parago, tensions rose. Lisa was brought in to defuse the situation. It took forty days for them to reach an agreement. Thanks to her swift work, the A’Fannaeans and the Paragons agreed to share ownership.
She did that a lot. She helped small planets work out their differences.
“Did she bring up the Creetite incident at Vrialm Gorge?” He asked sounding interested.
“Yes she did. Then they spoke alone for a bit while I started the paperwork.” She said exiting the lift. “When they came out, they asked if I had any issues moving to the station and if I felt comfortable enough translate whenever I was need.”
“You don’t have any issues moving here, do you?” He asked. He knew she wanted to be closer to him but he never took in consideration what she’d be giving up if she moved.
“I mean I’ll miss where I’m at and I could always go visit if I wanted but I think this is what I need.” She said as they entered the living quarters quadrant. “We’ve been apart for too long. I’m sick of having an entire galaxy between us.”
Niall’s cheeks grew warm as he looked at her. “Really?”
“Is Commander Horan blushing because of me?” Lisa smirked making him blush even more.
He rolled his eyes making her laugh.
“I just want to make sure you really want to make this move.” He said pulling out his swipe card. “That you are doing it for the right reasons.”
“This is a dream job for so many people. I get to work with even more languages than I already do on a daily basis.” She said reassuring him. “I just can’t believe I even was offered the opportunity.”
“I can.” He said confidently. “You’re amazing.”
Lisa stood on her toes and placed a kiss on his cheek. “I love you.”
“So what happened next?” Niall asked flashing his badge to the guard.
“He just wanted to make sure I was okay with the transfer and then he said if I wanted to switch then the job was mine.” Lisa shrugged nonchalantly. “I think Mandy was more excited than I was.”
“When do you start?” He asked as his place came into view. He wanted to start making travel plans.
“I have to go back in next week to finish up some more paperwork and then I will have to do a week long training to learn more of the ins and outs of being at headquarters instead of out in the field.” She explained. “But I don’t know when my first official day on the floor will be.”
Niall just sighed. He tried to hide his disappointment but it was difficult. His reconnection trip around the galaxy was going to have to be put on hold.
“What’s wrong?” She asked as she watched him plop down on the couch.
“I got my vacation time approved.” He sighed covering up his face. “But it’s gonna have to wait now.”
She walked over and crawled on top of his lanky frame. “Why’s that?”
“You’re going to be too busy to go with me.” Niall mumbled into his palms.
“Says who?” Lisa asked nuzzling into his neck. His hands left his face to rest on her lower back.
“I mean you’ve got a week of training and plus we’ve got to move all your stuff to your new place here then you have to get acclimated to Tanith.” He rambled. “Plus you’re going to want to go to some work functions before you actually start to meet people. And that doesn’t leave very much time to go back home with me.”
“Ni, why are you worrying so much?” She asked tracing the logo on his chest.
“I know that’s usually your job.” He chuckled softly. Her touch caused goosebumps to form.
“You didn’t let me tell you the best part.” She whispered into his skin.
He hummed happily. “What’s that?”
“I get three weeks off before I have to go to the training.” She explained. “Someone I know is one of the senator’s favorites.”
“He didn’t say anything, did he?” Niall asked peering down at her shyly.
“He just said you told him about our plans and that if he wanted a well rested and focused staff that a few weeks off would be a good thing.” Lisa said making him smile.
“That bastard.” He laughed.
“So we can go to Ogoul and Hibernia and wherever else you want.” Lisa smiled.
“Let’s go to Partheon too.” Niall said thinking of all the combinations of planets they could visit.
“But you’ve been there so many times with the IDL. Aren’t you sick of it?” She asked.
“No because I haven’t been there with you yet.” He smiled.
“Ni.” She blushed.
“I could travel the entire galaxy with you by my side and never get bored.” He whispered softly into her hair.
Lisa exhaled slowly, “That would be nice. Travel around for a while, just you and me.”
“We could do it. Take sabbatical and then come back when we’re refreshed.” He said curling a strand of her hair around his finger.
“I wouldn’t be able to send money back home if we did that.” She yawned.
“I could use my savings for that. I’ve got at least three months worth maybe even more.” He offered.
“I don’t know. I just – I don’t know.” Lisa sighed.
She wanted to but she couldn’t let herself do it. It was too irresponsible.
“Wouldn’t you like to come with me?” He asked.
“Yes but I can’t.” She closed her eyes. “Not for that long at least.”
Lisa laughed, “Besides I think after traveling for three whole weeks with me, you’ll want to be by yourself for a while.”
“Impossible.” He said moving so they were face to face.
She looked at him confused, “How?”
“Because you’re my star girl.” He kissed her lips. “You rule my world.”

jessica chastain’s met gala look is giving Cordelia. to me
no because you're so real!!! it has such strong im so upset at my 3rd dead husband's funeral as i inherit his entire fortune (which i think would've been a much better as a plot line for her).
also i think if we had a modern day au for her, i know purple is her colour but she definitely had a phase in college where she dyed her hair a icy blonde playing into the bimbo stereotype. she would eat this look up though

I geniually hope you’re feeling better these last few days you’re such a skilled, talented and friendly person
Hello!! Thank you so much for checking up on me 🤍🩷🤍 I don't think things are looking up any time soon but it will never not surprise me how adaptable human nature is.
I've been in this fandom for years now probably observing content since early 2019/19 and writing stuff since COVID began at first it was for fun but I've genuinely learnt so much and had an amazing time, grown in terms of writing and discovered new interests and made people I consider friends now. But in a weird way I've kind of outgrown? DL is what I've been thinking for a pretty long time, maybe it's a phase and I just don't have any inspiration right now but chances are I won't be writing anything any time soon.
Tumblr is still fun to browse through and I won't disappear, or deactivate maybe I'll even start another account like kallistos book club is what I've been thinking but idk what I'm doing rn. So I'm always so glad so receive comments like this assuring me I haven't just been wasting away, and my work has made people even a little happy or entertained!

Rip beatrix, i just know she wouldve loved Catherine Watson from Mona Lisa Smile
OMG!! okay the reason it took me so long to get to this ask was that i kept seeing clips of the movie but i couldn't find the time to watch it ( i still haven't watched it ) but i've pretty much watched every clip and know the story.
even if you're not a big dl fan or beatrix stan i would totally say go watch it esp for my fellow feminists and if you want to see complex women played out as whole 3D people rather than a theory on paper that's sexualised and folded into something something she's not.
but aside from that i can totally see that!! beatrix in the modern day is an au i'd kill for; oddly enough in my head she looks more like cat strand ford from 10 things i hate about you more and more everyday- which btw the actress is in Mona Lisa Smile

Do you perhaps hate shu more than other boy.
mmm even though i don't really hate one more than any other, i guess you can pick up i have a specific distaste for him for a very specific niche reason that i can see both myself and my father in him.
something about the excuses he makes for himself in relation to his childhood that was eerily similar to mine pisses me off - but no I'd say if I really had to pick a most hated brother it would be laito?

Which of my mutuals I'd fight?
would obliterate:
- @ofstormsandsaints: one Sam is french an I could do it out of the power of spite, number 2 I've seen her gains and personally I feel like I'd be more worried about any occult or blood curses she releases on my rather than physical attacks
- @gingerall : I love Oliver, I'm sure you love Oliver however Oliver is an artist you know what that means. Bad hydration, bad back posture, tiredness - I feel like purely because I have perfect back posture I could take him out. Also I work out.
- @samsvenn : she was also here idk what happened but there's just this instinct that I could win. Idk if I'm underestimating Sam and I'll end up getting my arse beat instead but I can definitely see myself getting winning at least one fight.
would verbally spar:
- @yuikomorihotline : Gwen is my bsf on here, but you know how sometimes you hear the most out of pocket, head turning, jaw dropping horniest thing ( that you agree with btw) but it's in public so you have to shut your bsf up. Yeah that's us, is she the funniest most creative person ever yes? Has she made me snort? Yes however sometimes you just need to shut your girl up. We also just have good banter.
- @mariicake: excellent candidate for a verbal fight. We are all very aware of her literary superiority however I believe I could potentially hold my own. It'd be like a banter but also low-key shots fired but somehow we agree with each other by the end kind of fight. Idk, I feel like I'd enjoy the challenge of a verbal spar with her.
not against the idea:
- @mariicake: once again Mariam and I have a wavelength. And I feel like we'd both just wanna be in a fight for the experience ya know when everything's pent up a good scrap would help. Also we have similar body types and strong arms from swimming so I feel like it's a fight that's most fair and I might even win.
-@gingerall : same as mari I feel like we both would just enjoy a good fight. Also idk I feel like the vibes are just right, like that plot twist moment for the mc where he has a fight with his bro and the universe reaches equilibrium. Also I feel like he would fight dirty and so would I so it'd be pretty enjoyable.
wouldn't have the heart too:
- I hope you all know I wouldn't actually beat your asses( unless it was a pillow fight - I have mastered that) <333 love you!!
hell no, I'm not suicidal:
- @sakamakibride / @darlin-disastrous : unhinged. -10/10 . My Spidey senses tell me it would be feral and I might actually get beat.
-@mariicake: also fcking crazy, she's got that oldest Arab sister who will beat the ever loving soul out of you. And rather than stopping her her sleep- deprivedness would probably encourage her rage.
- @secretarykang: I've seen Alina get nails done but like even though fighting with long nails suck I feel like if she started by poking my eyes I'd be dead. Also I feel like she has this stern countenance thing when it comes to fighting that would psychologically throw me off.
- @yuikomorihotline: she's way taller than me, and could punt me into the ionosphere. She also has rabid energy that could definitely show up in a fight and it really just depends on the day.
