MISH!!! Girl, same. I'm doing OC plotting things and I'm like, "Yo, is it 2019?" I'm looking through my OC files, so I'm being hit with nostalgia left and right lmao. But, I've been feeling very inspired with Irides lately, so hopefully, something comes from that soon. 😊

Juyanio Sylvester

Alright, so this a profile about my second oc. In order for you to understand this character, I've got to explain the world a bit.

Basically, 1 in 4 people develop supernatural abilities based on the colour of their eyes. There's sixteen abilities one could get and they don't start showing signs of getting one (or more if they have multiple eye colours, but they would have multiple weaker abilities should that happen) until their eye colour settles. Iridescents can tell when someone else is an Iridescent, unless they wear something to conceal their eye colour, such as sunglasses or coloured contact lenses. These abilities can be extremely dangerous and a lot of the people with these abilities, called Iridescents, do end up using these abilities to commit crimes and take advantage of others, so the government, in an attempt to stop it, start taking in anybody who appears to be an Iridescent. Nobody knows what becomes of Iridescents that are taken in, and that's what the main protagonists (eventually) wish to figure out.

Hair color/type/length: Red, very curly, upper back hair.

Eye color (ability): Hazel (Illusionism, which allows her to manipulate all 5 of a persons senses or "take them away", thigh this doesn't work on other Illusionists)

Build: Average height, slender, hourglass frame

Sense of style: Dress shirt and simple dark pants with simple black shoes. Will typically wear hair pulled back and blue contacts to conceal her eye colour when at work. Outside of work, may wear low heeled boots.

Winter Wear: Black knee length peacoat and matching thermal headband in colder months.

Personality: Juyanio is silent, cold and unfriendly. She tends to keep to herself mostly. Stoic and cool-headed, she's typically keeps a serious and professional demeanour. She's often very blunt, and tends to be rather rude. And because she's so prickly, people tend to thinks she's a bitch. She loves her job however, and treats her customers very kindly (Like, that's clearly a different person.) She heavily dislikes Mentalists but understands that she's likely a hypocrite for her reasoning.

Likes: solitude. Her job. Her friends at her job.

Dislikes: people wanting her to open up, eople who seem too friendly, and Mentalists.

Fears: death and people taking advantage of her.

Family: Della (Mother) and Donovan (Father) Sylvester (both deceased). Barbara Stone (Aunt, deceased).

History: Juyanio was an only child, born in Southern England (Yeah, she's English, because I say so). She has very little memory of her parents. On their way home one day, her parents were hit by a train, after their car stalled on the tracks when Juyanio was 4 (I can't change that now). She moved to the states with her aunt and stayed with her for eleven years, before her aunt died suddenly in her sleep. She ran away and eventually "made friends" with a group of people, developing an unhealthy infatuation for one of the guys. She travelled with them, but eventually the guy, who was a Mentalist (essentially a human truth serum. They ask the question and force you to answer truthfully), found out and used his Mentalism to blackmail her into taking the fall for their irresponsible choices. One day, they told her to get them something from a convenience store, and while she was inside, they left her there in the middle of a place she wasn't familiar with, with a small amount of money and the clothes on her back. She got a job at a restaurant, and lives with some of her co-workers, and she occasionally goes out with them to practice shooting.

Strength(s): Aside from OP eye powers, she's a decent shot.

Weakness(es): She's not a fighter, at all. While she understands how to uses her ability well enough, but aside from and her ability to use a gun, she is easily restrained or bested in a fight. Like, one good punch and she's probably down.

Dexterity: Left-handed.

Favourite colour: Burgundy.

"Aura" colour: Also Burgundy.

Dreams or desires: She wants to be able to go to work without having to wear her contacts.

Hi! Don’t worry, I didn’t give up on these or anything, I’ve just been dealing with a bit of school stress and I occasionally forgot... Anywho! Worry not! Here is SoJa’s character sheet.

Race: Racially Ambiguous, I haven't come up with a race for her and the mystery is intriguing.

Skin tone: Olive (About 26 on the Von Luschan scale)

Hair Description: Black, wavy, shoulder length hair. Often done up in two french/dutch braids.

Eye colour (ability): Green (Vitakinesis, specifically she can heal a person's ailments or illnesses)

Body Type: Short, Petite, rectangle frame,

Sense of Style: Loose fitting, off shoulder, crop tops. Denim shorts or pants and sneakers.

Sense of style (Winter): Black snow boots, beret, and a plaid red, black, and grey coat in the winter months.

Personality: Despite Sophie Jane's naturally soft voice, she has a cheerful and optimistic state of mind generally. She's fairly sweet and gentle, and tends to be patient with most people. She's playfully flirtatious and somewhat promiscuous (She's coming to steal your girl. Run.) but since she's often so nice, it's really difficult to tell when she is or isn't flirting. She doesn't like to worry anybody much, though, she has a difficult time concealing how she feels about heavier issues. She tries to keep an easy going nature, and likes to try making herself approachable to others. Likely because of her Iridescent ability, she enjoys helping others, though she much prefers helping them psychologically. She has a car, but she rarely ever uses it, since she despises driving.
