Understanding The Small Things
A/N: I know I haven’t updated anything in awhile, I’m really sorry guys, I’ve been super busy and my computer took a shit in June and I haven’t been able to recover anything from it or get a new one. This is my first time on a laptop since June :o But here’s a KakaSaku one shot I wrote earlier today, hope you guys like it :)
Pairing: KakaSaku
Words: 1,615
Summary: There were alot of things Kakashi didn't understand after the war. His former students were just one of the many things on that list.
My Fanfics      Ao3.net        FF.net
—————————————————————————————–
Kakashi stood under the awning, the green tiles of the roof hard under his feet. The rain poured above him, the clouds opening up like heaven might fall through at any minute. If there even was a Heaven. He was unsure, he knew there was someplace else, but of Heaven he wasn't sure.
Is that where Rin had gone? He'd like to think so. And Obito... He wasn't so sure. Obito had come back during the war, had worked along side him again. It was an odd feeling, having him back and now that he was gone again there was a ache in his chest, it had been there since the first time he had died. But where the ache was once a heavy memory, now it was all light and breezes and soft winds. He carried it with him still, of course he would, but it was different. He still went to their graves, he still left flowers and tears and memories and parts of himself there at the cold stones. They weren't there, he knew that too, but it helped to think they were, to fool himself into thinking they were listening to him.         Kakashi ran a hand through his silver hair, even in the rain it defied gravity, sticking every which way. He had gotten his hair from his father, he had gotten everything from his father, if he were being honest, and Kakashi was nothing but an honest man. Atleast to himself. He sighed as he stepped out into the downpour, it soaked him through in seconds and the clouds just seemed to get darker, sensing his fastly decaying mood.         He had a meeting, a very important meeting. Kakashi skipped the streets, keeping to the rooftops as he dashed towards the hospital. He was late, he knew that too. But she would be expecting that.         As he reached the hospital he jumped through a window, open for him solely, and landed swiftly in her office. And there she was, his former student, studious with her head above a stack of too many papers. She looked up, seeing he had finally arrived. She rolled her eyes- an hour late, she thought.        Her office- a small converted supply closet really- was dark, save for a single desk lamp she had shoved in the corner. It illuminated little, just enough for her to see the work she was doing. Kakashi watched as she stood up and smiled at him, switching the light off. Her smile was kind and pretty, not expectant though. She never asked for more than he was willing to give, and today she could tell a smile might not be one of them.         She removed her long doctor's coat to reveal a mint sweatshirt, heavy enough for the cold spurt they had been experiencing, and crisp white pants. She was effortlessly pretty, all spring and air and absolutely nothing like the weather Konoha was currently stuck with. "Come on, lets go meet the boys before Naruto starts yelling. We're already late enough," she teased him as she passed him, grabbing an umbrella from next to the door. "Looks like you could have used this more than I did!" His clothes were soggy still, but it didn't bother him much. They'd dry eventually, he shrugged at her as they made their way out of the building.         They walked quietly through the streets, dodging puddles as they went. It was an easy silence. It was always easy with Sakura, Kakashi thought. Her presence next to him eased the ache in him. He had failed her as a teacher, failed her as a comrade, dumped her on another teacher, but yet here she was. Still smiling and welcoming as always. He wondered if it bothered her, how inept he had been. It probably did, but she didn't voice it to him. They all had their secrets and maybe that was her's. Who was Kakashi to pry? It was one of the many things he didn't understand.          As they reached the ramen shop they could already hear Naruto, one fourth of their old team, yelling at what was probably the second member of their team. He was always loud and boisterous; a complete 180 switch from Sasuke, the moody brooding boy who had grown into a moody brooding man. Kakashi and Sakura entered, smiling at the boys. "Sakura! Kakashi! Finally you made it! I thought you died or something!" He excitedly waved at them.         Sasuke rolled his eyes, "Dobe over here already ate half the restaurant's ramen, if you had waited longer there wouldn't be anymore for anyone else." He crossed his arms in his stool. Sakura sat next to him, and kakashi next to her. Sometimes it baffled him how normal it seemed. How not even a year ago they were fighting eachother to the death, destroying the village and then saving it, and now of all things they were eating together. Sure they still fought but Sakura was the referee for their spats, one they learned quickly to accept or face her powerful fists.        Their dinner lasted longer than Kakashi had liked, he stayed silent for most of it, taking in the sheer realness of the situation. Sasuke was all black and white and red; his personality, his appearance, and his actions. He was bred on order, precision, and power; through the years he had still harbored those habbits. Naruto was yellows and orange, his whole being was open and he said everything he thought, sometimes to a fault. If Sasuke was Lightning, then Naruto was the thunder. And then there was Sakura, she was all pinks and greens, from her hair to her eyes, to her lips and her clothes. She was their Earth, kept them all grounded, quick thinking and powerful, like mother nature. And then there was Kakashi. He didn't know where he had fit into everything, even now. He knew he was important to them, but where he stood in their dynamic he wasn't sure. The three nin were a world of their own, one he wasn't sure he would ever penetrate. He wasn't sure if there was a person alive who could.          As if sensing his quietness, Sakura looked at him, her eyes looking at him with worry and understanding. She angled her head towards the exit, a movement so small he almost thought he missed it. But he didn't, he returned her unasked question with a nod. The two younger boys didn't even notice, being too involved in a spat at their end of the counter.          Sakura stood up and stretched, her arms above her head and yawned, "Well, its been fun, but I've got work in the morning, I really should be heading out." She told the boys then turned to the masked ninja, "Kakashi, walk me home? You're on the way, I'll share my umbrella with you." Kakashi nodded while Naruto began a protest. Sasuke just grunted and elbowed him, the two would be there long into the night most likely. As much as Naruto annoyed the boy, he still appreciated his company, and it prevented him from going back to his dark, old home, still in the Uchiha compound. For that he was thankful.           Kakashi was grateful for the diversion and the excuse. She was always doing that; making excuses for him. He wondered why, he did nothing to deserve her help. They walked under her pink umbrella. He held it above the two of them. It had grown quiet on the streets, rain still fell, but little by little it was slowing and the clouds were leaving to reveal a rich navy night. He was greatful. To the weather and to the girl walking next to him. His home wasn't on the way to her's. They all knew that, but no one had called her out on it, they simply let her lie.          They neared her home, her red door moved ever closer to the pair of ninja. Kakashi stopped as they arrived to her apartment. "Thank you." He didn't have to say for what, she already knew. She was good at that too.          She smiled softly at him, "Youre welcome, Kakashi-sensei." She still used that too.          "You make me feel like an old man, Sakura, I'm not your teacher anymore." He told her, one hand still holding her umbrella, the other in his pocket. He had perfected the art of aloofness long ago.          She shrugged, "I know, its just so fun to tease you though." She turned to unlock her door.           He sighed at her attitude. She turned back around and smiled, "Hey Kakashi, come her, I want to tell you a secret." Her emerald eyes sparkled, he leaned his ear closer, hunching his back to lean to her level; she was a full head shorter than he was. Instead of telling him a secret she lightly placed a kiss on his masked cheek and pulled back. "Goodnight, Kakashi." Before he could say anything, she was already in her home, closing the door behind her. He doesn't know how long he stood there, outside her door, holding that umbrella above himself, but he thinks it may have been a moment too long.          Under his mask he smiled, a real smile for the first time that rainy day, and suddenly, the world was just a little brighter. He was a little confounded by the sudden cheek kiss, but he didn't mind it in the least. It looks like he had one more thing to add to his list of things he didn't understand. Sakura was quickly rising on it though, if he were being honest.          And Kakashi was nothing if not an honest man.
A/N: Let me know what you guys think :) Hope you liked it :)

KakuSaku Month 2018, Week 2: A Book-Related Friendship?
Kakashi is a college student and book lover encountering a library in his hometown for the first time. There, he meets Sakura, a feisty classmate who works in the library. She gives him a tour and piques his interest. Alternate universe. Written for Week 2, Day 1 of KakuSakuMonth 2018
Kakashi looked at the building, then at the directions on his phone, then at the building again, mildly surprised. He had lived his entire life in Konoha, and yet he was surprised that the city had a library. He’s never heard of it at all, despite being a voracious reader and constantly looking for new books to read. On top of his surprise at the existence of the library, he was impressed by the building itself.
It had old pillars and stained-glass windows, and the building had to be at least four stories tall and over a hundred years old. It had ivy growing over the pillars, but was trimmed back from the windows, allowing for a gorgeous green-leafed frame around each window. Kakashi was in awe. After a moment, he parked his motorcycle, pulling off his helmet and leather gloves. He put the gloves in the helmet and tucked it under his arm, climbing up the steps into the library.
Kakashi looked around once he got inside. Despite the age of the building, the library itself had all the modern amenities a college town library like Konoha would want: computers, charging stations, and even a couple of self-checkout stations. He also saw rows and rows of bookshelves, stacked high with newer-looking, pristine books (they probably put most of the new stuff on the main floor to attract young readers, he supposed), and an elevator beyond the computers.
Directly in front of the doors he had walked through was a long counter, with computers, stampers, some cups with pencils, and a couple boxes of tissues. Behind the counter sat a girl with pink hair, someone Kakashi recognized from his first aid seminar, but couldn’t recall her name.
She was focused on a large medical text of some kind on the counter in front of her, and he noticed a notebook under her hand, which was busily moving across the page.
“That’s a lot of notes… or are you just transcribing the whole book?” He asked, a little too loudly for a library. He ignored the hushing noises from the people at the computers and leaned on the counter as green eyes met his. She looked irritated.
“I intend to pass my classes, thank you,” she said, closing her book and sitting up on the stool she occupied. “How can I help you?”
“Um… my name is Kakashi. I think we had a class together?”
“Yeah, you were twenty minutes late, which pissed off the teacher, who decided we all needed a lecture on lateness, which made me late for work here. Now, how can I help you?”
“I was late because my bike broke down,” Kakashi protested, starting to get irritated. Who did this girl think she was?
“Yeah, I know that was the excuse you gave the teacher. Look, let me just help you so I can get back to studying, please.”
“Okay, fine. I’ve never been here and I need a library card and stuff.”
“Okay, let me get the paperwork for the card and then I’ll give you a quick tour of the library—”
“I thought you said you had to get back to studying.”
Green eyes flared in impatience, almost to anger. “I still need to do my job. Can you let me get on with it?”
“Fine!”
They glared at one another for a moment, and she turned away to get the paperwork, returning quickly.
“Put your name, birthday, address, and all that information in the boxes it is supposed to go in. This pamphlet tells you about due dates, fines, days the library is closed, and all that other important stuff you need to know as a patron. You can expect your official card to be mailed to you in ten days, and in the meantime, you get a temporary card.”
Kakashi filled out the information, and she put the paperwork on her book, the information down. She then pulled a small plastic card from a drawer and walked around the counter, coming into his view. She was short, but slender, and wore simple black slacks, heels, and a nice blouse. Despite his irritation with the pink-haired girl, Kakashi noticed her curves and soft, creamy looking skin. She looked him up and down, and he suddenly felt odd in his blue jeans and leather bomber jacket.
“Even with the air conditioning, you might be a bit warm in that. You can leave your jacket and helmet with my stuff until we get back from the tour if you want,” she said.
“Thanks.” He took off the jacket, and despite her frostiness, she smiled at the shiba inu print on the front of his shirt.
“We have a nice section on pets and animals, if you’re curious.”
“Thanks. Do you have a section on veterinary care? I’m in the veterinary program.”
“Oh, yeah! Come on, I’ll show you the library and where everything you need to know about the library is. I’m Sakura, by the way.”
“Kakashi.”
Sakura led Kakashi on a quick but thorough tour of the library, explaining everything from how to log in and use the computers and printers, to where the bathrooms were. She showed him all four floors of the library and explained how the books and other materials were organized, and showed him the media section in the basement of the library, where the CDs and movies were. She surprised him by showing him the microfiche and explained how to work the machine. She even showed him where the bathrooms and the drinking fountain was.
At the end of the tour, the pair ended up back at the counter. Kakashi had a couple of books from the veterinary care section, and a book from the romance section (Sakura had rolled her eyes when he picked it up, but didn’t say anything). She checked out the books for him and put his information in the computer on the counter, and gently but firmly reminded him of when the books were due. When they finished, Kakashi stood awkwardly, jacket and helmet in hand, books under his arm.
“Is there anything else I can help you with?”
“Yeah, actually. I need to borrow any notes you took from that first aid class. With being late and all, I forgot my notebook and couldn’t take any.”
Sakura sighed. “Let me make a copy of them for you, and give them to you later tonight. I’ll text you my address so you can pick them up.”
“Thanks. I really appreciate it.”
“Why are you taking a first aid class, anyway? It’s not in the veterinary care group, is it?”
“No, but its useful information. I hate the idea of standing by while someone chokes to death or something.”
Sakura beamed at him. “That is exactly why I wanna be a doctor!”
Kakashi nodded, wrote down her address on a slip of paper, then stood there awkwardly again. Sakura smirked.
“What is it?”
“Well, I don’t really want to go home… I love books, and this library is amazing.”
Sakura giggled, tucking a lock of hair behind her ear. “I feel the same way. You don’t have to leave, you know. You can stick around.”
“Thanks.”
With that, Kakashi drifted back towards the elevator, wondering what other books he would find, and wondering if his new acquaintance would turn into a friendship. After all, anyone could see that Sakura was a book lover, too.

Process/Organizational post for writing for KakuSaku month(and in general)
So, to provide some context here. When I started writing fanfiction one of the things I hit into was my lack of an organizational process and a lack of a coherent understanding of my own personal writing process. So I started doing research into other authors, both fanfiction and published.
I learned a lot from the Deadline City podcast , hosted by two women of color who have published a lot of works between the two of them. Story Grid the podcast helped out a lot as well. I also started reading with more intent. I re-read some of my favorite fanfiction and tried to identify what the authors did really well, and what I could do better.
I pay special attention to dialogue because I am bad at it. I pay attention to worldbuilding because I love it. I pay attention to characterization because it is hard as shit. I also reached out to some fanfic authors as well, I became friends with @pandorasbox014 , who is such a lovely and funny person as well as a brilliant writer of Running Out of Reasons. It is a KakuSaku fic and one for the defining works of the fandom and a study in how to write the Naruto characters in a modern setting. Also adorable, adorable romance *internal flailing and squealing*.
Anyway, through the process of this researching and reading I notice several things. One the more you read and write the easier it is to find your own voice and not just copy your favorite, which is especially hard for me because my current posted fic, Maybe I’m Paying for the Things I’ve Done is inspired by the wonderful @weialala-leia fic In Good Company. My fic has a completely different pairing though.
So researching also led me to teh same conclusion I figured out while in my first year of college. I hate outlining, but sometimes it is necessary and there are ways of outlining that don’t mean outlining every part of my fic. It’s absolutely fine if I don’t outline in that way, but it is necessary to keep track of my timeline, and I can do this tracking after I actually write the ting, but before I post. Naruto as a fandom has great potential for an ensemble cast, regardless of how it was actually written. Word count goals help me personally, I don’t ever want to write a chapter less than 10,000 words. I have too much to say and I need room to grow and follow up on instant ideas I have while writing. Having a synopsis of the fic is also helpful, because it reminds me to not stray to far from the original idea, it creates a disconnect. I also found out, that I fucking love spreadsheets. They are great, they are versatile, they can be colorful if you are really committed, and they can function for you even if you are bad with them. It’s great. So let’s talk about the spreadsheets.
Hopefully it’s not too blurry, I am new to actually posting stuff on tumblr so fingers crossed. There are two pictures below. The first spreadsheet has seven rows all in different colors. It’s split up by week, coordinated by color. Since KakuSaku prompts are going to be posted starting May 3rd, we have about seven weeks to prepare. I plan on creating spreadsheets and doing synopsis’s. Week two is in yellow, and I have to go through the Five commandments of story telling or situational scenes for my fics. The Five Commandments of story are
1. inciting incident
2. progressive complications
3. crisis
4. climax
5. resolution
and these are from Story Grid. I will not always follow this process completely through, that tis not the point. I may not be the best writer, and I may still be growing into the kind of writer I want to be, but I know how to write for joy. And it usually works even if I hit stumbling blocks or have to go on a mini hiatus. Even if I don’t follow the five commandments it at least helps me figure out what not to do. I am doing a lot of planning for my current fic (linked earlier in this post). And it’s still a very messy process because I want to talk about so many different things, and also holy shit, incorporating romance into a very plot heavy story is hard. However, this process helped me figure out a couple of things
1. it’s going to be way longer than I thought.
2. I want some good old fashioned romantic angst
3. I need to be better at pacing which is why it’s going to be longer because too much is happening in too few chapters. The reader, the author, and the characters in my fic are all going to be very confused. I don’t want that. This process also helps me figure out important questions to ask in the first place.
I also would like to start a concept doc which is just a brainstorming dump for a specific fic or characters, I got this from Isabel Cañas’s newsletter that comes out every month. After that it is just executing my ideas and planning into actually writing the fics. There is also space for me to track what I do everyday. Will I actually do it? I’m going to try my best folks but sometimes my best means taking care of myself and letting things go even if I want them. I do this for joy, so there is a lot of wiggle room that I allow myself in this process. The second spreadsheet is for KakuSaku month, this is for the synopsis, the commandments or situational story telling. I split it up by prompts for KakuSaku month and colors. It’s not the most sophisticated spreadsheet  but it works for me, so I thought I would share. Thanks for listening to me ramble.

LISTEN! I’ve been looking all over the fandom for more kakusaku fics! Normally I start with the fics with most reviews which summary appeals me. Then I proceed to look for those hidden gems that are not that popular but OMG you feel so lucky to have found. AND THEN YOU FALL IN ABSTINENCE BECAUSE YOU CANNOT FIND ANOTHER FREAKING FIC THAT YOUR SOUL CRAVES and the. You go back to your favorites and re-read them 5 or 8 times (sorry not sorry) and then you memorize them and you cannot stand to not have new material! Then I scavenge in the posts and answers here in tumblr and you stumble into one or two things that seem ok.
AND THEN OUT OF THE BLUE YOU FIND IT. THE Fic, that one that you never believed to exist and suddenly is here AND I CANNOT STOP READING I HAVE FINALS IN 5 DAYS AND LOOK AT ME. And then I turn to the reviews and surprise! It doesn’t have the reviews it should! I haven’t read anything apart for the first 7 chapters of this fic but oh boy!

Friday Fic Requests
Alright, so I’m going to try a little something here, just for my tumblr followers:
I love writing my long fics, but sometimes when I get stalled on a chapter, I need a breather. The best way to keep myself in the writing mindset is to write something else. When my other go-to fic to work on also stalls...well, then I have a problem. And unfortunately, all of the fics I have on the backburner are long, complicated plots, so it doesn’t really offer the same freedom to get the words flowing as shorter fics do.
So in the spirit of not letting me surrender to the dreaded writer’s block, I intend to start taking fic prompts / requests which I’ll post on Fridays [once they’ve been written, I’ll have them all collected here ].
If you have a great idea or a scene that you want to see, send me a request and I’ll see what I can do. It can be AU, random one-shot, something you want to see from one of my ‘verses, etc.
Just keep the following in mind:
1. given how busy my schedule is, I can’t do longfics, but if your idea can be depicted in about 1000 words, I’ll definitely give it a go.
2. I will not write anything with blatant non-con, utterly explicit and weird sexual fetishes, animal abuse or character bashing. I will also ignore requests concerning any of my NOTPs (NaruSasu, HinaSasu, KarinSasu, SakuSaso, KakuSaku, etc.). If you’re not sure, send me an ask to find out what my stance is.
3. I’m only writing Naruto fanfiction right now, not anything else (and I’m more likely to answer SasuSaku requests before other pairings. This doesn’t mean I’ll ignore someone’s request for another pairing, but I might take a bit longer with other pairings because I’m not as at ease.)
Other than that, I’m looking forward to your ideas! If I get some requests today I’ll try to post by this evening, but officially, we’ll start this next week ^_^

So I had the best idea for a KakaSaku fanfic that I will never write, Metal Gear x Naruto. Just think about it, it's brillant.

Stitches
All of the Akatsuki had some severe abnormalities with their physical and mental persons.
Zetsu was split into two colors, had two personalities, and he had a venus fucking flytrap around his upper torso.
Kisame was blue, had gills on his face, and was probably part shark.
Itachi had murdered his entire family except for his younger brother, and was emotionally retarded.
Sasori was a puppet. Honestly, that’s all she had to say about him.
Deidara had mouths on his hands and on his chest. That, and he had a seriously annoying speech impediment.
Tobi was physically Obito, but he was mentally Madara. He also acted like a child for no apparent reason whatsoever.
Hidan was immortal, and he enjoyed to maim himself for pleasure and for his God.
Pein believed he was God, and he had six different bodies. Not to mention all the piercings.
Konan was made of paper. Seriously?
Yet, she could overlook all this. All of them had functioning organs (minus Sasori) and were complete people. Nothing seemed to be wrong with them physically, none of them were hurt or in pieces or whatever.
Except of course, for Kakuzu. He didn’t have organs. Well, technically he had five hearts, but that was it! Not to mention he was stitched together and could actually move said stitches as if they were tentacles.
Sakura stared blankly across the room at him. He continued counting his money diligently until he felt his skin prickling from the feeling of someone watching him. Flicking his Christmas eyes up to meet emerald, he rose an eyebrow, pausing in his counting.
Sakura blinked, quickly averting her eyes with a slight blush of embarrassment from getting caught.
Kakuzu sighed inaudibly, and resumed counting his precious money. Odd kunoichi.

KakuSaku SmutoberFest 2017: Tempted
Summary: Kakashi has a crush on married woman, friend, and former student, Sakura. He’s also dealing with an ethical/moral conundrum, in that Sasuke has been less than faithful to Sakura and Kakashi knows it. Should he tell her she is being cheated on? Should he tell her how he feels about her? Temptation is hard to resist.
Rating: Adult, as there is an almost sex scene fantasy thing.
Author’s note: I hope to use this story as a precursor to a story for the prompt “Jealousy,” so keep an eye out for that story in the next couple of days, and let me know how I do! Please and thank you!
Kakashi looked from his book, down from his perch in the tree, towards the training ground. In the center of the area stood Sarada and Sakura Uchiha. He could not hear what the pink-haired mother was saying to her daughter, but he had just watched them practice hand-to-hand self-defense, and he would not have been surprised if Sakura was telling her daughter to work on her reflexes. The girl seemed stiff and hesitant to block or stop her mother’s movements, and Kakashi could not blame her, remembering the few lessons his father had been able to give him, and feeling hesitant to hit or raise his hands against Sakumo. Then again, he had grown hesitant around Sarada’s mother.
Sakura Uchiha. She was the wife of the famed Sasuke Uchiha, sole surviving member of the Uchiha family, raising the next generation line of that family while her husband went and worked on eradicating evil in the world (or so he said… Kakashi had suspicions…). She was friends with the Hokage of Konoha, who rarely made serious decisions without asking either Sakura or Kakashi himself. Sakura was herself a legendary figure, one of the heroes of the Fourth Shinobi World War turned doctor. Sakura had always been a medic and Kakashi knew she would turn her attentions to some form of medical work. What he did not know was that he would develop an attraction to her.
When he first met Sakura, Kakashi thought she was a silly, boy-obsessed child, someone who would likely drop out of the shinobi lifestyle and be a stay-at-home mother.  Sakura had grown both as a woman. She surprised and earned his respect a couple of times in the early years, and her stubbornness and dedication to her teammates impressed him, especially given how cruel Sasuke could be and how hard it was for Naruto to not be self-absorbed in the early years of their teammate-ship. On top of her inner-growth, Sakura had grown physically as well. She was strong, strong enough to punch craters into the ground without breaking a sweat. Kakashi once watched her wrestle an enraged Anbu member into a cot at the hospital. When she left Konoha to travel with Sasuke, Sakura was cute, innocent, but not quite developed as a woman. She was also seventeen.
At that point, Kakashi regarded her as a strong, young woman, but not a physically attractive one. When Sasuke brought her back to Konoha, she was carrying a tiny bundle named Sarada, and Kakashi saw in her the beauty of a happy mother. She was nearly nineteen, then, and had filled out in a way Kakashi had not expected. Her slim hips and breasts had become curvy, and no matter what was going on around her, she seemed to glow. Despite being left to support herself and a newborn (while her husband went out into the world and did whatever he wanted), Sakura never seemed lost or scared. Kakashi knew he would never be sure of where the cute but slightly awkward girl Sakura once was went, but he was fine with that. He loved the new, sexy, confident Sakura. He was in love with her.
If he could, if he thought he would make a difference without causing drama or pain for her, Kakashi would go to Sakura. He would go to the Uchiha compound and find their house, on some night when Sarada was away at a friends’ party, and he would tell Sakura everything. He would tell her all about what his Anbu buddies had said about Sasuke’s infidelity, about how he had caught Sasuke with someone in June, and how he agonized on what he should do. He would apologize for his hesitation in telling her about her slut husband, and then he would take her in his arms and hold her as she cried, or he would sit back and let her scream and rage at him, or help her with divorce paperwork, or… he would make love to her.
He would pull her body towards his, cup her face with one hand and wrap his unoccupied arm gently around her shoulders, and kiss her. Sakura would gasp or maybe try to move away, but he would push forward, deepening the kiss. She would realize that she loved it, loved him, and start kissing him back. Her tongue would meet his, and he would moan into her mouth. He would pull her up, into his lap, and she would straddle his lap, bringing her clothed center against his equally clothed erection.
They would have difficulty with breaking the kiss, but Kakashi would manage and pull her shirt and bra off, exposing her hard nipples. She would grind down on him in response, and he would buck up, making her moan. Kakashi would lick one nipple and use his fingers to stroke and flick the other. Sakura would gasp and squeal, ripping his shirt with her hands. He wouldn’t care, how could he care about a damn shirt when the woman he loved was grinding on him, was—
“I said, what are you doing up there? By your lack of response, I would guess you are napping.”
Kakashi blinked out of his erotic daydream and looked down from his perch in the tree to the smirking face of Sakura.
“Sorry. I was… enjoying the day. Its nice out,” Kakashi responded, thankful that he was sitting above her, and she could not see the outline of his hard cock through his pants, as she surely would have, had he been on the ground with her.
“Ah. I could have sworn I saw you up there, watching me help my daughter with her aim. Am I a good teacher?”
“Excellent, from what I saw,” Kakashi answered honestly. “When she first started throwing those senbon, I was afraid one would stray and hit someone in another field.”
Sakura chucked, green eyes sparkling.
“By the time you two finished, her aim was much better.”
“Well, I’ll take that as a compliment. You can tell her how impressed you are with her progression herself, next time you see her.”
Kakashi looked around, slightly surprised at Sakura’s words. “Where did she go?”
“Oh, she had to meet a friend for some sleepover. I thought I would come chat with you for a minute, then head home for a quiet night.”
Kakashi’s heart pounded at Sakura’s admission that she would be alone. This was his chance, his opportunity to tell her how he felt about her, what he saw in September when he went and check on him, he could—no. No, he couldn’t.
“Well, it sounds like you’re in for a nice night by yourself. You haven’t had one of those in years, I bet.”
“No, I haven’t. Actually, I was a little irritated by it earlier. I’m just not used to a quiet house. I asked a couple of friends to come hang out, but they’re either on their way to complete a mission, or they’re spending time with family. I don’t want to impose on another person’s time with their family.”
“Ah. Understandable.” Kakashi waited, hoping despite his resolution to resist his temptation.
“Well, I just wanted to see how you were doing. I’ll see you later, Kakashi. Have a good night!”
“You too, Sakura.”
As Sakura walked away, Kakashi tried to ignore his feelings of foolishness and guilt. He wanted to chase after her, wanted to say something, anything to her, but his stupid morals got in the way. Part of his brain kept saying “It’s none of your business,” while the part of his brain that seemed in touch with his heart kept saying “She deserves better, and you can give her that.” He felt terrible, though. It was taboo to have lustful feelings and thoughts towards his former student, especially one who was already married. Of course, she was married to an adulterer, but Kakashi never found it appropriate to get involved with others’ relationships, unless he saw abuse. His heart-connected brain kept trying to justify his temptation, telling him that cheating was a form of abuse, and that Sasuke was being neglectful to his wife and daughter, and Kakashi would be much better as both father and husband.
Kakashi knew he shouldn’t say something, and he reminded himself that it was not his place to say something as he jumped down from the tree. He knew it was not appropriate for him to go to Sakura and say anything about his attraction to her, and he knew he hated what Sasuke was doing to Sakura and Sarada by not being faithful to his wife and dedicated to his daughter’s wellbeing and upbringing. He couldn’t stand himself for being this week and giving into temptation like this, but he couldn’t stand the actions of Sasuke even more. He had to make things right for Sakura and Sarada.

KakuSaku Month 2017, First Week “He desperately needed to breathe/Smut Monday: Breathe/Whisper
Summary: Kakashi has social anxiety, and Sakura helps him through a bad panic attack.
KakuSaku,
Rated M for mature. Sex and swearing, folks. Read and enjoy!
Kakashi Hatake was widely considered a cool, level-headed guy. He could give orders during intense battles with highly skilled enemy ninja while keeping track of three highly emotional pre-teens, he was very good difficult political situations, and he could bear witness to one of Tsunade-kage’s full-blown tantrums and survive. Over his busy career as a shinobi, he’d been poisoned, lost his eye, burned, tortured, and was even dead for a little while. In his life, he had lost his best friends, his father, and countless friends and lovers, nearly all of which had died in front of him, or who he found dead later. Most people believed he was a man of ice and steel, cool and hard to break.
What most people did not realize was that Kakashi had horrible social anxiety. Not even his closest friends knew about it, as he was so good at emulating calm, cool, and collected. The reason why he had told Naruto, Sasuke, and Sakura he hated them after Naruto’s prank on him at their first meeting was partially due to his social anxiety. He had temporarily forgotten his role and let his anger seep through. He hated having to make decisions, and that was part of the reason why he was always late, especially to meetings where he knew he was expected to lead or make some decision. It was also why his lies were so terrible when he was late, as he panicked when put on the spot, especially if the person questioning him was loud and obnoxious about bringing attention to his lateness. Social situations made him nervous to the point that he was often sick to the stomach and clammy-skinned afterwards, and sometimes he even had panic attacks where he felt like he couldn’t breathe, that his lungs had stopped working and seemed to be shriveling into useless, dead organs.
One such panic attack occurred during Kakashi and Sakura’s first date. He’d spent weeks trying to figure out how to ask her out and talk himself into asking her out, and it ended with her holding his head in her lap outside of the movie theater while he tried to control his breathing and calm down. He was so embarrassed and was so scared that she must have been embarrassed too, but her smile never faltered, and her gentle hands never stopped moving in his hair as his breathing evened out. When he finally sat up and started to apologize, but Sakura interrupted him.
“It’s okay. Next time you feel a panic attack coming on, let me know and we’ll sit and breathe together.”
Kakashi felt blessed and perplexed at the same time. He’d expected her to be exasperated or frustrated with him, but she was calm and serene, and didn’t treat him any differently than she had when he finally got brave enough to ask her out.
A couple of months into their relationship, Sakura gave Kakashi the spare key to her house and asked him to look after her plants while she was gone on a month-long mission. Kakashi was pleased to have earned her trust, and faithfully visited her apartment a couple of times a week to carefully water and prune her cacti, avocado tree, and her small herb garden. One day, Kakashi was spraying an organic pesticide he had made at his place on the avocado tree. He had opened the windows of the small house and could hear voices from inside. He set down the bottle and went in the backdoor, excited to see his girlfriend for the first time in almost a month.
“So, then he slurps his noodles all loud, right in front of the daimyo and his wife and kids. Then, he says with this full fucking mouth, “This is so good, thank you for the delicious meal,” like an idiot, and he just slops and spits food everywhere. I mean, I get that he was starving, but fuck, you don’t eat like that in public.”
Kakashi stopped in the threshold of the back doorway as laughter bubbled from inside the house.
“Well, it’s your fault for choosing him, Forehead. You know how obnoxious he is,” he heard Ino say between giggles. How did the Lightening Daimyo react?”
“Oh, he was completely shocked. His wife was furious because he slopped half of his food onto the tablecloth she had bought just a week before. And that wasn’t even the worst of it. The second course were these spicy dumplings with a koregusu sauce. He mistakes the little ramekin of sauce for a drink and chugs it down, then slams the ramekin down. I literally watched it shatter as he yells,” Fuck that’s so hot!” He was so loud that the maids could hear it in the damn kitchen two floors down.”
“Oh, shit!” Ino exclaimed, laughing. “I mean, I cuss, but I know when to cuss. I have never been so embarrassed. He didn’t even apologize!”
“Wow, what a mess.”
Kakashi stood there, shocked. When had he done this? He thought back to one of their missions together to the Land of Lightening, but couldn’t remember the last time they’d been there together. Then again, that wasn’t really the point. Was he really that embarrassing? Had his table manners really been that bad? And why didn’t she tell him? Did she not mean it when she told him he wasn’t embarrassing? He leaned against the door, feeling his stomach flip and his breathing speed up, to the point that he was getting dizzy from lack of air. He closed his eyes, trying to calm down. He desperately wanted to breathe…
“I’ll see you next weekend, Ino. Thanks for talking to me about that idiot,” Kakashi heard Sakura say. The sound of the front door closing followed quickly. How long had he been standing there? Did she know he was there? What if she found him here and got mad?
“Why is the back door—Kakashi?”
He jumped and stared at her, chest heaving. Within seconds, he found himself sitting on one of the garden chairs, his cheek pressed up against Sakura’s chest. She rubbed his back and shoulders gently.
“Hey, it’s okay. You’re okay. You haven’t done anything wrong. Breathe with me.”
Kakashi and Sakura stayed like that for several minutes. He just listened to her even heartbeat, feeling her lungs fill and deflate slowly. His own breathing eventually came to match hers, and when it did, he carefully pulled away. Sakura smiled at him.
“Better?”
“Yeah,” he replied softly. He didn’t meet her eyes, and she frowned in response.
“What’s wrong? And don’t try to tell me that nothing is wrong.”
“I… I heard you two talking,” Kakashi said, bowing his head. “I didn’t mean to. I’m sorry. And I’m sorry I did those things and that I was so embarrassing to you.”
“What? No, I wasn’t talking about you. Honey, I just got back from a diplomatic mission, remember? Naruto was my partner for the whole thing. I thought it would be a clever idea for him to learn about diplomacy. Boy, was I right. He really needs to take a lesson on manners. Maybe two! I wasn’t talking about you at all.”
Kakashi looked at her for a moment and blushed—he was thankful that most of his face was hidden behind his mask.
“Oh. I’m sorry…. I didn’t mean to eavesdrop.”
“I’m not mad, honey. The only thing I am upset about is that you had another panic attack. Have you thought about getting some help?”
Kakashi blanched and stood, walking quickly across the yard, as though he could put space between himself and the very idea of getting help.
“No,” he said. “I know what the problem is… I’ve been this way since my dad died. I’m not going to go and get help for something I’ve learned to deal and can live with.”
“Kakashi, this issue has a negative impact on your life, regardless of how you’ve learned to live with it, regardless of its cause. Please at least consider it,” she told him, taking his hands in hers.
“Okay,” Kakashi said after a moment. “Will… if I go, will you come with me?”
“Of course,” Sakura replied brightly.
“Thank you.”
With that, Kakashi hesitantly pulled Sakura to the little garden she had. He showed her the spray bottle, and explained that he had noticed some tomato worms and ants crawling all over the avocado tree and eating the leaves. He didn’t want her to come home to a leafless tree, and so he had done a bit of research and found a homemade pesticide that wasn’t made with chemicals. Sakura was delighted in his work and kissed him in response. Afterwards, the pair went back into Sakura’s house. She sat at the kitchen table and told him about her and Naruto’s mission to the Land of Lightening while Kakashi made tea for her.
Kakashi relished in these moments, when he could just listen to Sakura. He loved her sense of humor and the way she told stories, especially ones from her life. She told them so well, he sometimes felt he was right there, watching her watch Naruto make an idiot about himself, or watching her enjoy the thunderstorms they traveled through on their way in and out of the Land of Lightening. He could almost taste the smokiness of the fish she had caught and cooked when they camped for the night, and if he tried hard enough, he imagined he could feel the heat of the fire against his toes…
“Are you okay?” She asked quietly when she noticed the faraway look in his eyes.
“Yeah, sorry. I just… I missed you.”
Sakura smiled, set her cup down, and moved from her seat to Kakashi’s lap. Kakashi leaned back in his seat to accommodate her more easily, and put down his own cup, wrapping his arm around her hip.
“I missed you, too,” She said, kissing him briefly through his mask before using two fingers to gently pull it down. She kissed his mouth, leaning her body into his. Kakashi smiled against her, kissing her back and wrapping his other arm around her, pulling her flush against him. Sakura opened her mouth, blowing gently on Kakashi’s lips. He opened them and allowed her tongue entry. Sakura moaned lightly as his arms tightened around her waist.
The couple made out for several minutes, hands roaming and fingers pressing at sensitive spots on one another’s bodies. Sakura pulled back long enough to remove her shirt and chest wrappings, making Kakashi sigh with appreciation. He gazed at her breasts for a moment, and Sakura giggled.
“Oh, is that how I get your attention? I flash you?” she teased.
“It works for most straight guys, love,” Kakashi replied dryly, cupping her tits in his hands, thumbs ghosting over her nipples. Sakura cooed and arched her back slightly, then began pulling of his flak jacket and shirt. Kakashi sighed, pinching her nipples lightly with his forefingers and thumbs.
“We should move.”
“Agreed.”
The pair found themselves on the couch in the living room, Sakura naked on the couch, and Kakashi between Sakura’s legs, kissing her inner thighs. Sakura leaned back against the couch cushions, sighing deeply, spreading her legs open a bit further to accommodate her boyfriend. Kakashi drew back a moment and lightly blew on her clitoris, making Sakura gasp and twitch. He smiled, then began gently licking her, using the fingers of one hand to spread her open, making it easier for Kakashi’s tongue to touch her sensitive core. Sakura moaned and closed her eyes, relishing in the pleasure her boyfriend was giving her. After several moments, her back arched and her eyes popped open.
“I’m … Kakashi, slow down. I’m so close! Ah!”
Kakashi smirked and continued, one hand loosening his pants and pushing them down to lessen the pressure in his groin.
Sakura tensed and cried out in orgasm, her body arching and relaxing several times in quick succession before it calmed. Kakashi pulled off his pants and underwear and sat on the couch next to her, pulling her into his lap until she straddled his thighs, facing him.
Sakura reached down and grasped Kakashi between their bodies, guiding him to her entrance. He thrust upwards, filling her in one hard stroke. Sakura moaned as Kakashi gasped at the feel of her wetness, hot and tight around him. Slowly, Sakura began to move, pushing with her feet against the couch cushions to raise and lower herself down. Kakashi gripped her hips and lifted her up and down on his cock, developing a rhythm quickly. Sakura moaned as his head ducked forward and he blew on her nipples carefully, one after the other. Faster and faster they moved together, the room filling with the sounds of their lovemaking. Kakashi shook and his toes curled.
“Sakura… I can’t hold back. Ah!”
The couple came together, gasping and crying out. After several moments of trying to catch his breath, Kakashi pulled her from him and laid down on the couch with Sakura curled against his side. Sakura shivered and pulled the blanket draped on the back of the couch over their nude bodies. Both were breathing heavily in the afterglow, and Kakashi pressed his chest against her back, relishing in feeling the muscles behind her lungs move in and out, loving that their bodies were so synced. Within fifteen minutes, the couple was out. Both were breathing deeply and calmly, uncaring of any issues they had before, or would have later.
