This post made me think of something:

I love the implication that it's only Kaeloo when Pretty is out of the picture. The show's logo appears and she's just been. Obliterated.

Don't be mad that Pretty ruined the iconic planet scene. It's actually pretty funny to think about, when you consider why Pretty has to be there.

You see, every other character has a scene in the theme song where their personality or the things they like are showcased. Stumpy has his video games and comics. Olaf has his easel and paintbrush. Game Rule has her spinning penalty wheel. Even Moldie, who has no real personality to speak of outside of being a jerk, gives a cocky and slightly malicious expression to the camera.

The only character to have no such scene is Pretty. Because Pretty does not have a personality, or any distinct features. So they had to slap her in somewhere. It's almost as if the theme song was created without her and then they realized they had to add her in somewhere.

Until I watched season 5 of Kaeloo I was hoping that someday we'd get to see Mr. Cat's brothers and learn more about them

But now I'm not so sure tbh

First off, they played Mr. Cat having a panic attack over his abusive mother calling him off as a joke. Secondly, Pretty, who sexually harassed Mr. Cat for three seasons and stalked him, is not only forgiven and welcomed into the group but also the narrative has the gall to make us feel bad for her because she felt rejected.

As much as it pains me to say this, I don't think I can trust the writers to portray abuse in a respectful way, because I watched Mr. Cat, a character who was abused get "punished" by having his abuser called in front of him, and even worse, Pretty, a vile sexual predator, is portrayed sympathetically and treated as if she deserves to be part of the gang and not kicked off the show entirely.

Stumpy, Quack-Quack and Mr Cat are blow away by his yelling and are shouting in fear. Once it’s over, Mr Cat says "Oh yeah…" while Badka is bashful. 3. Kaeloo transforms back, then says "Friends, today we’re gonna play...". 4. Mr Cat is sulking afar and says : "Oh no…". Kaeloo brings up a picture of Badka and says "With Badka!". Mr Cat, while putting on a black bow tie: "Absolutely." 7. Kaeloo, very seriously: "Finally, Mr Cat… You are obviously forbidden from hurting Quack Quack!" 8.Mr Chat does a vocal warm-up, then asks : "And our guest, when does he play?". 9.Badka calls out Kaeloo: "Huh?". Kaeloo answers : "We agreed I would go first. Be patient, your time will come." 10. Mr Chat, waving a flower bouquet : "I’m skipping my turn. I’m waiting for the toad." Stumpy and uQack-Quack look at him with eyes wide open. Gay flags and questions marks have been added on top of them. 11. Kaeloo’s arms become long and soft, she yells. Stumpy takes up one of her arms and shouts : "Ah ! Gross !" 12. Mr Cat : "We’re loosing time there! If we want the toad to play, we need to speed things up." He runs up to the wall and counts : "One..."13. Quack-Quack blown up to the ground, and touching the wall with his finger. Mr Cat : "Alright! The duck won. Time to bring the toad in." 14. Badka, to Kaeloo: "Hey ! It’s my time to play!". Kaeloo : "Yes, I know! It was supposed to be your turn but now is not the time !"15. Mr Cat, to the Rules : "Thinggumabob! Froggy said she would trade places with the toad. She’s not doing it! It deserves a forfeit, right ?" The Rules has a gay flag and an interrogation point on top of her. 16. Mr Cat jumps towards Badka whith his flower bouquet in his hand. Kaeloo transforms back and shouts "Red light!", and instead of touching Badka, Mr Cat crash into the wall. Moignon et Coin-Coin le regardent avec des grand yeux. Des drapeaux gays et des points d’interrogation ont été rajouté au dessus de leurs têtes. 11. Les bras de Kaeloo deviennent tous longs et mous, elle crie. Moignon prend un de ses bras et crie : "Ah ! Dégueu !" 12. Mr Chat : "On perd du temps là! Si on veut que le crapaud joue, faut passer la seconde." Il se met à un mur et commence : "Un..."13. Coin-Coin explosé au sol qui touche le mur du bout du doigt. Mr Chat : "Bon ! Le canard à gagné. C’est le moment de faire rentrer le crapaud !" 14. Badka, a Kaeloo: "Hé ! A moi de jouer !". Kaeloo : "Oui, je sais ! Ça devrait être ton tour mais c’est pas le moment ! 15. Mr Chat, à la Règle : "Le bidule ! La grenouille a dit qu’elle laisserait sa place au crapaud. Elle le fait pas ! Ca vaut bien un gage ça non ?" If Kaeloo is getting another English dub I'm kind of worried by the fact that season 5 is the first season we're seeing a dub of

If they're skipping seasons 1-4 then that means new fans who are being introduced to the show are watching episodes with S5 Pretty (a creature who, may I remind you, is so repulsive that the fandom has collectively agreed to call her "Shitty") instead of episodes with actually good characters, not to mention that the character development we see in S5 is less impactful if you haven't seen what the characters were like before

okay i have a LOT to say about this season ???

Mister Cat développement ???? Pretty developpements ???? I loved it !! idk how did they make me love these two even more but they did it !

Pretty is so much calmer and nicer ! ALSO SHE DOESN'T Love Mister Cat anymore ?????? YES GO QUEEN FINALLY !!!!

Quack Quack and Mister Cat Friendship ? perfect

Pretty and Stumpy acting like siblings ? perfect

I don't mind the new characters , but yeah ...they are maybe to much present ? like ... I love Stumpy's sisters but one episode for each sisters ? and there is 7 of them ?

also " la RDG" , i liked her ... I think ? i mean she had her good moment but if she dissapread next season i wouldn't really mind idk .

The socket episode ?? really cool !

ALSO THE QUACKQUACK EPISODE ?????

i'm kinda sad about the lack of Kaelat moments ... I mean S3 and S4 had so much of them but S5 ? idk if there is even one genuine moment between them ? except the moment that shows their friendship ( wich were really cool ) but other than that ... we were a little let down this season ... Bad K and Mister Cat has their moment but it's the usual " Mister Cat flirts with Bad K and he beats him up" so yeah ...

I was also disapoitned that we don't see Eugly and Olaf a lot ....

And why is mister Cat leaving early in bunch of the episodes ???

overall , good season but really heavy on the emotional theme ?? i wasn't ready for that ? like we saw Mister cat cry or being really vulnerable a lot ! ( also i love his canon name ? it's such a awful name ... i love it )

Finally finished kaeloo season 5 and here's my thoughts.

(spoiler alert + bad english, still learning)

I think my fav part is Kaeloo/Bad K development . We see them working on their relationship and it's so wholesome to see . They even ask eachother permission before transforming and I find it so cute . I also like the little bubbles idea.

We finally get to see stumpy'sisters. Honestly, I wasn't that hyped for them at first . I thought showing Ursula would be more interesting. But I ended up liking them . They remind me of my own relationship with my sisters and they're funny most of the time and quite enjoyable

La Règle/ The Rules was okay . Not particulary funny but I like her, I don't know why. I think it's a nice add to the show and allows the episodes to go even crazier since she can basically do everything she wants .

And Pretty... I know it's not a popular opinion but I liked her character this season. She's softer , kinder and finally not in love with mister cat anymore (btw, her friendship with him is cool to see)

TALKING OF MISTER CAT, I'm happy he finally get a therapist and became a lil' nicer too but man, he went through a lot this season . And the jokes about his abusive familly and trauma ...was so messed up ... Like, Yeah , I'm happy we know more about him and his backstory and I can't wait to see more but the treatment was ... a bit cruel???

Quack-Quack finally had more personality and is not just an over-powered duck . We do see him actually act like a friend to Stumpy and it's cool. Also, the episode about his past was just a MASTERPIECE and so creative visually .

And ngl, I'm lil' sad that we didn't see any Kaelat moment, or barely , comparing to the S3 and S4 . I know it's not supposed to be an imporant part of the show but they make me very happy okay ??? .Maybe next season.

Anyway, good season overall. It has some flaws but I enjoyed it a lot !

I just watched Kaeloo season 5 and... I cried very hard (/srs). What happened? Why was season 5 so bad compared to season 4?

They wrote my favorite character Eugly out of the show. They gave Pretty way too much focus and that completely ruined the season for me... and even worse there's a scene in the three-part special where Kaeloo says "the gang's all here!" when Pretty is with the main four, implying that Pretty is getting closer to being a main character...

I DON'T WANT THIS! THE MAIN CHARACTERS ARE KAELOO, STUMPY, QUACK QUACK, AND MR. CAT! PRETTY SHOULD NOT BE ONE OF THEM!

Also there was hardly any Kaechat moments becuase Mr. Cat kept getting shoved aside so that stupid rabbit could have more time onscreen... I miss the main four. Pretty has completely ruined season 5 for me, and it hurts my heart to see my favorite show being ruined by her

I've finally gotten around to playing SoJ in anticipation of the AAI2 localization and speaking of SoJ this line reminded me of "SOJ a coach a coacher"

Tbh I'd say any season 5 scene with Pretty in it is a waste of time but the one where they made a whole fucking episode about her is the worst

You mean to tell me that I waited for THREE WHOLE YEARS expecting a good season, only to get a season where Pretty, the worst character in the whole damn show, was made even worse and then shoved in our faces all the time? I waited THREE WHOLE YEARS expecting fun antics from the main four, only to get a season where a character that could be replaced by a sack of potatoes takes up all the screentime? I waited THREE WHOLE YEARS for stupid-ass episodes like "Si on jouait à l'interrogation" and "Si on jouait avec Ardoise" where Mr. Cat, the most important character, is given a minor role so FUCKING PRETTY CAN GET SCREENTIME? Now that I think about it, Kaeloo season 5 is a lot more about family than friendship. There's so much about the characters' families:

We actually meet Stumpy's sisters that he kept talking about so much and get to see what their family dynamics are like

We get the Quack-Quack backstory episode, and we get to see his siblings

We learn more about Mr. Cat's fraught relationship with his abusive mother, and the nature of said relationship

Pretty has to cope with Eugly leaving her because she feels abandoned. All she did was be ableist to her, fat shame her, steal her life savings, and do plenty of other awful shit to her. I really wonder why Eugly would want to leave.

The climax of the season comes with meeting Game Rule's parents, who are the ones responsible for causing her to do the things she did in an effort to please them.
