“ϒeah?” Guren replied after a while, a little half-heartedly. It was no surprise that Yuuichirou had found him in his office, drowning himself in work in an attempt to distract himself from the last mission. Lately, he was starting to lose more members of Moon Demon Company, which only meant that the vampires were getting stronger. They would need more than simply brute force to even stand a chance against them now. More lives had been lost, but at what cost? Would it bring them any closer to ending this war? Would winning this war ever bring them back?

ℬy now, Guren’s rarely ungloved fists were balled tight on the table, the paper that was clenched in his grip crushed beyond recognition. His knuckles were so white that he might as well have been wearing gloves the entire time. It was no use – something about the boy’s tone just made it so hard for him to lie in his midst, especially when the two of them were alone. Like now. “So what if I’m not okay, then?” Guren finally exhaled, levelling his gaze with the boy, his lips a thin line, “What are you going to do? Embrace me?”
