with no argument to share a bed, kacey nodded her head before he helped her onto her two feet. gripping onto her side, she managed not to wince or groan as they headed to the secret bedroom. if they were lucky, they would hide out while the storm passed, along with the outsiders. they would be back to jackson before nightfall. kacey had to believe that whether it was realistic or not. the room may have looked quaint and dusty, but kacey exhaled in relief. “this place is kind of amazing,” she murmured. the memories of being captured flooded her memory without permission. remembering she thought she would never see a bed again, nor aaron. her eyes glistened, forcing to snap out of it as she turned to aaron. she knew she should have said no to a sandwich, but her head was nodding in agreement before she could stop herself. “i’m not really hungry. maybe we can split one?” she suggested. moving to sit on the edge.
