hi Could I watch Ishq subhan Allah with English subtitles? on internet? it aired already, really wanna catch up, lookks like issa gud show
darlinggg, i don’t know about english subtitles since I can speak hindi so I just watch it as it is on this link (it has all the episodes!):

and loool as far as it being a good show is concerned, I really do love the fact that they’re a muslim couple lead in a Hindi TV show which is very refreshing and a nice change (love the prayer scenes and Ramadan and Eid!! and when they make dua for each other) and the new story was hit with audiences too judging by the ratings
buuut it all went south when the inconsistent writing started, like zara and kabeer are written so wildly out of character at the most random places you wonder wtf is going on, and it’s so problematic especially because of how they made zara more and more meek and kabeer more and more aggressive when initially that was NOT how they were portrayed
in the later episodes it seems like they get back on track with zara growing a spine once again but it’s just so sloppy these characters deserve better writers and a better story, even if I’m glad that in their depiction of Islam at least they’ve been respectable and knowledgeable by showing how the Quran gave these rights to women it’s mainly the TRASH MEN who are hell bent on taking them away and Zara is being used as a mouthpiece to convey that message to all the viewers which I like!
anywho sorry for the rant ahgahjgsag unfortunately I couldn’t be of more help in regards to finding any english subs I tried looking but didn’t find any good sources :/

Ismail Al-Azhari ( October 20, 1900 – August 26, 1969 ) Sudanese national and political figure. He was the first prime minister of Sudan between 1954 and 1956, and the president of Sudan from 1965 until Jaafar al-Numairi overthrew him in 1969.

About his life
Ismail bin Al-Sayed Ahmed bin Al-Sayed Ismail bin Al-Sayed Ahmed Al-Azhari bin Sheikh Ismail Al-Wali ( 1900-1969 ). His lineage ends with Sheikh Ismail Al-Wali bin Abdullah, Al-Kardafani, a Dafari Al-Dahmiri Al-Abbasi originally and in proportion who displaced his father's family « Abdullah » from Mansourti village in Al-Dubba area in the north of Al-Abyad city, Kordofan. Ismail Al-Azhari has a close relationship with Mustafa Al-Bakri bin Sheikh Ismail, the first to be buried in the graves of Al-Bakri in Omdurman and Muhammad Al-Maki, one of the men of the Sufi movement in Sudan, the first to live in the Al-Makki neighborhood in Beit Al-Mal in Omdurman، And the Bedouin Sheikh, the famous dome in the Abbasid neighborhood of Omdurman, under the supervision of Beliyab and the wheels. He served as the Prime Minister of Sudan in the period 1954-1956 AD and Chairman of the Sovereignty Council in the period 1965-1969 AD raising the flag of independence of Sudan.
He was born in Beit Alam and Dean, his grandfather pledged to his father, Ismail Al-Azhari Al-Kabeer bin Ahmed Al-Azhar. He received his middle education with a civil valley, who was a distinguished prophet, who joined the College of Gardon in 1917 and did not complete his education with it. He worked as a teacher at the Atbara Al-Wasati School and Omdurman, then he went to study at the American University in Beirut and returned from it in 1930 AD. Appointed as [ Gradun College ] and founded the Arts and Debate Association.
And when the alumni conference was elected as its Secretary-General in 1937.
The fratricidal party, which was calling for union with Egypt, was leading the face of the call for independence for Sudan, which the Umma Party was calling for. He opposed the formation of the Northern Sudan Consultative Council and the Legislative Assembly. The Federal National Party ( is currently the Federal Democratic Party ) when the federal parties united under it. In the year 1954 AD. He was elected Prime Minister from within Parliament and under the influence of the growing feeling of the necessity of independence of Sudan first and before discussing the union with Egypt, and with the support of the independent movement he made a proposal to declare independence from within Parliament, and that was unanimous.
He assumed the presidency of the Sovereignty Council after the October 1964 revolution during the second democracy.
He was arrested when the May 1969 coup d'état occurred in Kober prison, and when his illness intensified, he was taken to hospital until he died.
He has a famous book called: ( The Road to Parliament ) Issued by the House of Culture in Beirut.
He was married to Mrs. Maryam Mustafa Salama.

hi! I was wondering if you ever watched Egyptian shows.
Hey anon!
I have watched a lot of Egyptian shows. But at the moment I can't remember the names except for a few sitcoms lol.
Let's see, I watched El bab fe El bab, Ana Wa Baba Wa Mama, Ragel Wa Sit Sitat.
I've also watched a lot of shows with Adel Imam.
Oh, and also Al-Kabeer ( with Ahmed Mekky) and that old one about the monarchy with the actor Qusai Khouli as the lead ( I think it's called Saraya Abdeen)
We usually watch movies though. I think i've seen quite a few of Ahmed Helmy's. And there's the one called الدادة دودي. I loved it when I was younger.
And so much more but I forgot them (I'm Egyptian btw)

Significance & Virtues of the Day of Arafah
Fasting on the day of Arafah is an expiation for two years. :
The ninth day of Dhul-Hijjah is the day of ’Arafah, since it is on this day that the pilgrims gather at the mountain plain of ’Arafah, praying and supplicating to their Lord. It is mustahabb (highly recommended) for those who are not pilgrims to fast on this day, since the Prophet (sallallaahu ’alayhi wa sallam) was asked about fasting on the day of ’Arafah, so he said, “It expiates the sins (Minor) of the past year and the coming year.” [Muslim (no. 1162)]
Imaam at-Tirmidhee (d.275H) - rahimahullaah – said, “The People of Knowledge consider it recommended to fast on the day of ’Arafah, except for those at ’Arafah.” [Muslim (no. 1348)]

Allah frees slaves from the fire on Arafat more than any other day
Likewise, the Prophet (sallallaahu ’alayhi wa sallam) said, ‘There is no day on which Allaah frees people from the Fire more so than on the day of ’Arafah. He comes close to those (people standing on ’Arafah), and then He revels before His Angels saying, ‘What are these people seeking.” [Jaami’ut-Tirmidhee (3/377)]

Forgiveness of the Sins even if they are like the foam on the Sea
As for you staying till the evening in Arafah, then Allaah descends to the sky of the Duniya and He boasts about you to the Angels, and says: ‘My slaves have come to Me, looking rough, from every deep valley hoping for My mercy, so if your sins were equivalent to the amount of sand or the drops of rain or like the foam on the sea I will forgive them. So go forth My slaves! Having forgiveness and for what or who you have interceded for.’

It is the day on which the religion was perfected and Allaah’s Favour was completed.
In Al-Saheehayn it was reported from ‘Umar ibn al-Khattaab (may Allaah be pleased with him) that a Jewish man said to him, “O Ameer al-Mu’mineen, there is an aayah in your Book which you recite; if it had come to us Jews, we would have taken that day as an ‘Eid (festival).” ‘Umar said, “Which aayah?” He said: “This day I have perfected your religion for you, completed My favour upon you, and have chosen for you Islam as your religion.” [al-Maa’idah 5:3 – interpretation of the meaning]. ‘Umar said, “We know on which day and in which place that was revealed to the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him). It was when he was standing in ‘Arafaah on a Friday.”
Allaah expresses His pride to His angels
It was reported from Ibn ‘Umar that the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) said: “Allaah expresses His pride to His angels at the time of ‘Ishaa’ on the Day of ‘Arafaah, about the people of ‘Arafaah. He says, ‘Look at My slaves who have come unkempt and dusty.’”
Narrated by Ahmad and classed as saheeh by al-Albaani.
Allah Swears by these 10 Days , odd and even
Allah swears by these days.
1. By the dawn;
2. By the ten nights (i.e. the first ten days of the month of Dhul-Hijjah),
3. And by the even and the odd . [ Fajr 1-3 ]
The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said, ' The ten are the ten days of Dhul- Hijjah and the odd is the Day of Arafah and the even is the Eid
[ Ahmed 3/ 327 and Bazzar 2286] Ibn Rajab graded the isnad of this hadeeth as being Hasan.

The standing on ‘Arafaat is the hajj. The crowds should remind you of the Day of Resurrection. Humble yourself to Allaah, manifest your ‘uboodiyyah to Him Alone through du’aa, sincere intention and strong determination to free yourself from the sins of the past and to build up a commitment to rush for doing what is good. Think of becoming a better person when you return. Rid yourself of false pride and showing off because it may ruin what you gain on this day.

Please can you explain why people go to Visit Saints Graves, the person is buried deep underground and not on the surface, what is the purpose of this strange phenomenon, why do people go there, is it not Shirk, are they not grave worshiping?
Bismillah; The Energy of the Ka'baa comes deep from within the heavens why do we try to touch the Ka'baa bricks? because of the Nisaab-connection and Barakah-blessings the same is true with the graves of the Saints, its all Nisaab-connection and Barakah-blessings. Nobody prays at or towards the bricks of the Ka'baa, the Energy comes down from Heaven from the Heavenly Ka'baa called (Bayt al-Ma'mur) it is from that Nisaab-connection and Barakah-blessings we are actually drink from.
Do you Worship the Stones of the Ka'baa? that is Shirk too! Also in Hadith it say 300 prophets are buried under the Ka'baa too, those who pray at the Ka'baa don't realise its (The Biggest Sufi Shrine). So whoever goes there are they not too doing Shirk too?
What makes them any different from those who go to the holy graves of saints to who go there for Nisaab-connection and Barakah-blessings? We dont accuse them of Shirk so dont do the same. Also from the Quran it says "Construct a building over them" of the Holy Ones the saints and Sunnah of praying at Masjid al-Khayf in (Mina) which has 70 prophets buried there too.
Below are some of the daleel-proofs; Abu Bakr Al Faqih has related from the Holy Prophet (salallahu alayhi wasallam) that he said: "There was no prophet who escaped from his people that he did not come to Makkah and worshipped Allah till he died. And there are the graves of Hud, Shuyab and Saleh and between Zamzam and Maqam and in the Kaaba there are the graves of 300 prophets. Between ‘Rukn Yamani’ and ‘Rukn Aswad’ are the graves of 70 prophets." Abu Bakr Ahmed bin al-Faqih Al- Hamdani (died 340 A.H.) - Akhbar Makkah (Azraqi) 1/121 -No 83 Tafseer Al-Qurtubi, Vol 2 pg 401
Thus did We make their (i.e. Ashaab al-Kahf) case known to the people, that they might know that the promise of Allah is true, and that there can be no doubt about the Hour of Judgment. Behold, they dispute among themselves as to their affair. (Some) said, "Construct a building over them": Their Lord knows best about them: "THOSE WHO PREVAILED OVER THEIR AFFAIR SAID: LET US SURELY BUILD A MOSQUE OVER THEM" (Surah al-Kahf 18:21)
(Making mosque on cave) ”IS PROOF OF MAKING MOSQUES OVER THE GRAVES OF SALIHEEN” just like It is mentioned in Tafsir al-Kahf.
"...don't you see that Grave of Sayyiduna Isma'il is inside the Masjid ul Harram near the Al-Hijr (Hateem) and to Pray there is Superior than anything else ” and "In the Al-Hijr (Hateem) near Hajr al Aswad and Mizaab there are “Graves of 70 Prophets”
The early Muslims (Salaf) have considered it Mubah (i.e. allowed) to build over the graves of famous Mashaikh and Ulama so that people can visit them and sit there (easily) Mulla Ali Qari
"When the people of the cave went into the cave, some people close to the entrance of the cave said, 'Build a mosque so we can worship Allah.' The people who said this were Muslims" (Tafsir Tabari, Tafsir Ibn Kathir)
Narrated by Ibn Umar from Prophet (salallahu alayhi wasallam) who said: "In the Masjid of al-Khayf there is Qabr of 70 Prophets (together)" Masjid al-Khayf is in (Mina).

note: Sahih Hadith are used for Hudud, and actions to Increase ibadah, many are based on Fada’il A‘mal which has are weak Hadith Great hadith experts such as Imam Ahmad ibn Hanbal, Ibn al-Mahdi, ‘Abd Allah ibn al-Mubarak said: “When we narrate in regards to the lawful (halal) and unlawful (haram) we exercise extreme strictness and when we narrate in regards to virtues and the like (stories and narratives) then we are more lenient. (See Suyuti’s Tadrib al-Rawi). We learn from this statement that the scholars were more relaxed in the case of using weak hadith in virtues, but were very strict when it came to aspects of belief or juristic (fiqhi) rulings. There were also other conditions for accepting weak hadiths. For instance, the weakness should not be extreme that it is bordering on fabrication or the hadith should not be a spurious one. Likewise the weak hadith should not contradict an established principle of Shari’ah or go against the spirit of the teachings of Islam (See Tadrib al-Rawi).

Kabeer & Zara’s Baby Adventure
I’d shared this one-shot on IG yesterday, just wanted to spend a bit of time imagining what it would be like if Zara was pregnant, and wanted to develop Ayesha’s personality a bit. The dialogues were in Hindi/Urdu so I’ve worked to translate them to English. They don’t all translate very well as it was very much based on how they deliver their dialogues in the show but I hope you guys like it anyway!
Ring ring! Zara groaned as she awoke, the book she had been reading sliding off her bed onto the ground as she reached to switch off the alarm that went off on her phone. “It's time for Abbu's (dad's) medicine…” she murmured to herself. “Abbu is ill?!” A perplexed Ayesha, keeping vigil at Zara’s bedside, jumped up in concern. “My abbu!” "That's what I said, my abbu?” “Ayeshu's mum's abbu!” “Is Nana (maternal grandad) ill?” “No, Nana is Ayeshu's mum's abba not abbu!” “So just say Dada (paternal grandad), what's all this abbu-abba business?” She rested her hands on her hips, a frown on her face that mirrored the one Zara gave her whenever she was telling her off. “Why do you always make a mountain out of a molehill mum?” Zara gasped at the audacity of her daughter and pretended to lunge at her, with Ayesha quickly ducking out of the way and reaching for the bell on the bedside table. She rang it with all her might, blocking Zara from taking it from her. “Abbu, abbu, abbu!”
Seconds later, Kabeer skidded to a halt in front of the door, a plate in hand. “Has the baby arrived?!” He managed between gasps for breath. Zara stifled a giggle at his dishevelled state, the messy chef’s hat and wide eyes on his flour-filled face made him quite the picture. As she approached the final days of her pregnancy she was, upon Kabeer’s insistence, confined to bed rest. He’d provided her with a bell to inform him of anything she needed, a tool Ayesha enjoyed abusing. “No, mum wants chocolate milk.” She skipped towards him to examine the plate. “Dad, its been so long, and you've only made 2 pancakes?” She reached for the plate and Kabeer snatched it from her hands. “Nope, these are for your mum. And aren't you being a bit too cheeky these days, Ayesha Kabeer Ahmed?” “Hey, hey, hey!” Kabeer looked up to see Zara protesting. “Kabeer, I've had a thought. Why don't we give our new baby the surname Kabeer Ahmed Siddiqui? Coming to think of it, why didn't we give Ayeshu that surname too? 3 of her names are from you and not even one is from me!” She pouted. Kabeer looked at Zara in disbelief, her tendency to divert the topic to something entirely unrelated to the discussion at hand had only increased during her pregnancy. “Zara,” he began, walking towards her and placing the plate on the bedside table, “where did this thought suddenly come from?” Zara huffed and stuck her hand out. “I want my share of names, promise me.” “This share business-” “Kabeer I told you-” “Yes Zara, but-” He was suddenly interrupted with a piercing ring of the bell right beside his ear. “Uff, both of you fight like children! God!” Ayesha huffed. “Aunty Zeenu will make chocolate milk... for mum.” She continued, shifting her eyes between her parents. “Yes yes, go and get some for your mum.” Kabeer smirked knowingly. “And I have to inform her about Abbu's medicine...” “My medicine?” Ayesha flashed Zara an ‘I told you so’ look and Zara made a face back as Ayesha skipped out of the room. “Aunty Zeenu!”
Kabeer sat beside Zara, bringing the plate of pancakes towards her. “She's talks back just like her mum.” He said, nodding towards the direction Ayesha had left in. “And she's a bit uptight just like her dad!” Zara grabbed the fork and made to attack the pancakes when Kabeer moved them out of her reach. “Kabeeeeeer!” “You're going to eat the pancakes this uptight man made?” She kept reaching for the plate, and Kabeer kept moving it out of her way. He broke a piece using his fork and moved it close to his mouth but paused in his tracks. “Does anyone act like this with their wife? That too such a heavily pregnant one?” Her lips began to quiver as she moved her face away and folded her arms. “You're very mean.” Half amused, Kabeer brought his fork towards her. “Okay, come and eat.” “No I don't want it.” “Zara, come on!” “No, I'm not eating it.” “Okay Zara, sorry! I'm apologising, will you eat now?” She finally turned back towards him, a twinkle in her eye as she bit her lip. Kabeer knew that wasn’t a good sign. “On a condition.” He watched as she raised her eyebrows towards the floor. “You have to do 100.” “100?” “Yes. Anyway, I don't want you to have a dad bod, it'll be some good exercise for you.” “Dad bod?! I just did 200 push-ups with Ayeshu. Ayeshu-!” He called, but Zara stopped him. “Leave it, Ayeshu is busy with her chocolate milk.” Within seconds, Kabeer received a video call from Zeenat Bhabhi. He answered, only to see his daughter with a chocolate milk moustache beaming up at him. “Abbu, when will you buy a hologram phone? No one does video calls anymore!” “This is all bid'ah (innovation), I don't need a phone like that.” Ayesha rolled her eyes in sync with Zara. “Anyway tell your mum, how many push-ups did I do earlier?” He directed a smug look towards Zara. “You must've done 1... 10... maybe...” “Ehh! Weren't you counting properly?!” “You only gave me 10 rupees, dad. If you wanted me to lie you should've given me 20.” She shrugged, and Zara laughed. “I...!” He was cut off as Ayesha hung up the phone, then looked over at Zara. “I don't lie, Zara!” Still laughing, Zara patted his arm. “Okay, do 10 and then we'll eat.” He reluctantly completed 10 sit-ups, his breathlessness causing Zara much amusement, and then set himself down beside her to enjoy their pancakes. Zara took a large bite, signalling her approval. “Chef Kabeer, masha’Allah!” “Did you like them?” She nodded enthusiastically. “I made them with a lot of love.” “You're going to teach both our children how to cook.” Kabeer put his arm around her. “And you will help them both with their school work, just as you do so well with Ayeshu right now. Every good thing about her comes from you, Zara.” Zara looked up at him. “Why are you such a good person?” “Because of you. And regarding Ayeshu's name - Ammi was both of ours, Abbu is both of ours and Kabeer is only yours. So if we do the maths, Zara, you have a greater share than anyone.” “As it should be!” Kabeer smiled, placing one hand on her stomach and gently stroking it. “Just a few more days...” Zara instinctively directed his hand towards where the baby was kicking, beaming as he gasped in wonder every time their baby kicked. Even now, after all this time, his enthusiasm was the same. “To be honest Kabeer I just can't wait.” “Appreciate the calm while you have it, our family of 3 will be 4 soon.” “Insha’Allah (God willing).” He tenderly kissed her shoulder and leaned her head against hers, with Zara sighing in contentment. They were jolted out of their relaxed bubble by the figure who had appeared in the doorway, a half-finished cup of chocolate milk in one hand and the other hand covering her eyes. “Ammi, Abbu, get a room!”

Darul Uloom Faizul Kabeer located in Kralgund Qaziabad area of North Kashmir’s Handwara felicitated 34 students for memorizing the Holy Quran during an event participated by renowned clerics from Kashmir Valley.
Those who were felicitated for ‘Hifz-e-Quran’ included 31 girl students and 3 boys.
The daylong program was attended by Mufti Muzaffar Hussain Qasmi , Mufti Ghulam Mohiuddin Raheemi, Mufti Waseem Ahmed, Mufti Altaf Hussain Mir, Mufti Rayees Ahmad, Dr Nissar Ahmed Nadvi, Mufti Mushtaq Ahmad, Mufti Zahoor Ahmad Rahimi, Mufti Zahoor Ahmad Bhat besides several other prominent Islamic scholars.
The attending scholars in their speeches unequivocally highlighted the importance and significance of Quranic education, especially for the female gender.
The event was also attended by family members of the students who completed the ‘Hafiz’ course. These students as a mark of symbolism and honour were donned turbans and shawls.
It is pertinent to mention here that there are 111 girls and 20 boys (students) enrolled in Darul-Uloom Faizul Kabeer who are receiving Quranic education.

Several shops issued citations for not adhering to health regulations
KUWAIT CITY, Feb 10f: The Kuwait Municipality organized intensive field tours in all the Governorates of Kuwait which coincided with the implementation of the municipality general director’s decision No. 566/2021 which shut down personal care stores (barbershops and beauty salons for women) and health clubs in addition to stopping all commercial activities from 8 pm until 5 am, prevent entertaining customers into restaurants, permitting home delivery service during closure period and excluding food shopping outlets, medical supplies, pharmacies and food supply centers from being closed.
The field teams also ensured the extent of the employees’ commitment to health instructions such as using preventive means — wearing face masks and gloves, providing sterilizers, preventing gatherings and holding parties and banquets to limit the spread of the Corona virus. The field tour inspectors in the Ahmadi Governorate issued 25 citations for some stores in a number of commercial complexes and also issued 47 verbal warnings to fully adhere to the decision.
Citations
In the Hawalli Governorate 3 citations and 13 warnings were issued for non-compliance with health requirements. In the Mubarak Al-Kabeer one citation and 14 warnings were issued to shops for not adhering to health requirements and not adhering to closure times.
In the Jahra Governorate it appears the stores fully complied with all orders and instructions. In this context, Director- General of Kuwait Municipality, Engr Ahmed Al-Manfouhi, praised the response of the shopkeepers to the suspension of some commercial activities, praising also the cooperation of 90% of the workers in the shops in implementing the decision that comes based on the requirements of the public interest and the recommendations of the health authorities.
Al-Manfouhi stressed the tasks of the field teams are to tighten supervision through inspection tours to ensure the commitment of shop owners to the decisions issued by the Council of Ministers. In the event of no cooperation, he said, the violators will be severely punished. This is done to protect all people in light of the exceptional circumstances the country is going through due to the Covid-19 pandemic.

Pakistan to Challenge Indian’s Claim to Basmati Geographically Indication (GI) Tag

ISLAMABAD, Pakistan: Taking serious notice of the Indian move of demanding exclusive rights of claiming Geographical Indication (GI) tag to Basmati rice in the European Union (EU), Pakistan has decided to oppose the application soon.
During a meeting of the Senate Standing Committee on Commerce, Intellectual Property Organisation (IPO) Chairman Mujeeb Ahmed Khan informed that Pakistan is preparing its objection to the said Indian Application and will be submitted within the stipulated time frame.
The meeting was attended by Senators Mir Kabeer Ahmad Muhammad Shahi, Zeeshan Khanzada, Nuzhat Sadiq, Dilawar Khan, Rana Mehmood ul Hassan, Advisor to Prime Minister for Commerce, Secretary Commerce and other senior officials of relevant departments.
He said India has applied for GI tag in European Union for BASMATI rice under Article 50(2)(a) of Regulation (EU) No 1151/2012 of the European Parliament and of the Council on quality schemes for agricultural products and foodstuffs, mentioned in the EU official journal dated September 11, 2020.
According to Mujeeb Ahmed, the Indian application mentions Basmati rice as an Indian origin product, despite the fact that similar rice is widely produced in Pakistan. The application is based on half-truth and frivolous grounds having no legal and factual backing. Pakistan exports 500,000 to 700,000 tons of basmati rice to various countries. Out of that, 200,000 to 250,000 tones are shipped to European countries. The European Union is a massive destination for local rice exporters and therefore it is a crucial issue for Pakistan.
EU regulation No 972/2006 of June 29, 2006, lays down special rules for imports of Basmati rice and a transitional control system for determining their origin has recognized Basmati as a joint product of Pakistan and India. Basmati is already recognized as a product of both India and Pakistan under the said European Regulation and its Duty-Free Regime, making it illegal for India to claim exclusive rights of Basmati in the EU.
According to EU’s official journal, any country can oppose the application for registration of a name pursuant to Article 10 and Article 50(2) (a) of Regulation (EU) No 1151/2012 of the European Parliament and of the Council on quality schemes for agricultural products and foodstuffs within three months from the date of publication.
On Tuesday, the Ministry of Commerce, according to officials, has also held a meeting on the same subject to discuss the filling of objections in the EU besides taking other steps regarding protecting Pakistani products as per the GI law made by the government this year.
Meanwhile, Committee Chairman Senator Mirza Muhammad Afridi also directed the officials of the ministry and IPO to immediately respond to the Indian application as the move may damage Pakistani exports.
Discussing another agenda of the meeting regarding smuggling, he said that the illegal trade has reduced substantially due to effective measures for its eradication which has supported the local industry and would be instrumental for promoting economic activities and businesses in the country. He expressed these views while presiding over the SSC on Commerce & Trade here at Parliament House on Tuesday.
Afridi appreciated the measures taken in this regard and said that the sick units need to be facilitated to ensure their revival. The committee was apprised about the problems faced by the farmers due to inadequate prices of tomato and onion despite good production during the current season.
The committee was also briefed about the steps being taken for exploring new markets for dates, tax evasion on computers, laptops and other IT equipment, as well as the issues of under-invoicing.
The chairman and members of the committee said that the basic purpose is to protect the local industry and its production for the overall progress of the country. Senator Mir Kabeer Ahmad Muhammad Shahi said that due to the import of the fruits and vegetable from neighbouring countries, the local farmers from Balochistan do not get adequate prices of apple, grapes, onion and tomatoes. He said that the ministry of commerce and trade should take measures for the protection of local farmers and the utilization of local production before importing such items.
The Ministry of Commerce secretary assured the committee that the issues would be resolved in collaboration with the ministry of food security and the committee would be apprised accordingly.
Senator Dilawar Hussain, while talking about Afghan Transit Trade, said that due to the deficiency of trackers, there is huge pressure on transit points. He asserted that an appropriate solution to this should be sorted out.
Afridi said that trade is a backbone of the national economy and an appropriate strategy should be followed to promote business activities in the country.
Advisor to the Prime Minister on Commerce Abdul Razzak Dawod apprised the committee that State Bank of Pakistan has been approached for provision of an easy loan through small and medium industries and consultation process for the IT sector is in progress, which will bear positive results.
Secretary Commerce informed the Committee that E-Commerce policy has been introduced and the committee in its next meeting will be informed about a framework in this regard.
Chairman of the committee appreciated these measures, however, he emphasized that sick units need to be supported so as to cater to the local requirements and as well as the export orientation from such units.
Senator Dilawar Khan informed the committee that the Trade and Development Authority (TDAP) could not hold even a single meeting so far. He further informed that he had sought different details from TDAP which have not been provided yet. Senator Mirza Afridi said that TDAP is an important organisation, its board should hold regular meetings to proceed on different issues and the people of Pakistan should have access to information.
He further said that question has been raised about Trade and Commercial Attaché posted in different countries.
He said that Pakistan produces high-quality tobacco. Trade and commercial attaché should improve their efficiency and awareness must be created about Pakistan products in foreign countries.
The committee insisted on the provision of facilities and capacity building of the tobacco farmers in Mardan, Charsadda and Swabi districts.
The committee was further informed that a project in collaboration with Swabi University has moved ahead. Senator Dilawar Khan emphasised that all the stakeholders must be taken into confidence as quality tobacco of the country is produced in these areas and national exchequer gets taxes of worth billions of rupees.
About the export of the dates, the committee was informed that 70pc of dry dates were exported to India and due to suspension of trade with India, farmers have to face huge losses.
However, efforts are being made to explore alternative markets for export of the dates and different countries have been contacted in this regard. The chairman of the committee emphasized that these efforts must be expedited to avoid losses to the farmers.
Senator Rana Mehmood ul Hassan suggested that a policy for installation of small sugar mills should be introduced to promote compatibility in the market. Secretary Commerce informed the committee that such a proposal is already under consideration in different ministries.
The committee was also apprised about clearance of containers at Port Qasim as well as money laundering issues in the country.

Ishq Subhan Allah became quite popular in no time and starred Adnan Khan and Eisha Singh as the protagonists. However, close to over a year into the show, Eisha Singh quit due to personal commitments, and her place was taken by Tunisha Singh as Zara. There were also multiple reports of the show going off-air but it looks like the luck is in favour of the fans as Ishq Subhan Allah has been extended for a year and their favourite Eisha Singh is all set to make a comeback as Zara Kabeer Ahmed.
Speaking about the same, Eisha Singh said that she is very excited to be back on the show and that Ishq Subhan Allah is her baby. This is the second show with the channel and everyone in and around the show are her family. She left due to personal commitments but now she is thrilled to play Zara on the show again. Eisha says that she had left the show with a bag full of memories and is back with the same back to gather a lot more memories.

Fahmida Riaz
Fahmida Riaz is a well known Progressive Urdu writer, poet, and feminist of Pakistan. Along with Zehra Nigah, Parveen Shakir, and Kishwar Naheed, Riaz is amongst the most prominent female Urdu poets in Pakistan. She is author of Godaavari, Khatt-e Marmuz, and Khana e Aab O Gil, the first translation of the Masnavi of Maulana Jalaluddin Rumi from Persian into Urdu. She has also translated the works of Shah Abdul Latif Bhitai and Shaikh Ayaz from Sindhi to Urdu.
Early life
Fahmida Riaz was born on July 28, 1946 in a literary family of Meerut, UP, India. Her father, Riaz-ud-Din Ahmed, was an educationist, who had a great influence in mapping and establishing the modern education system for Sindh. Her family settled in Hyderabad following her father's transfer to Sindh. Fahmida learnt about Urdu and Sindhi literature in childhood, and later learnt Persian.
Her early life was marked by the loss of her father when she was just 4 years old. She had already been writing poetry at this young age. Her mother, Husna Begum, supported the family through entrepreneurial efforts until Fahmida entered college, when she started work as a newscaster for Radio Pakistan. Fahmida's first poetry collection was written at this time.
Family and work
Riaz was persuaded by her family to enter into an arranged marriage after graduation from college, and spent a few years in the UK with her first husband before returning to Pakistan after a divorce. During this time she worked with the BBC Urdu service (Radio) and got a degree in film making. She has one daughter from this marriage.
She worked in an advertising agency in Karachi before starting her own Urdu publication Awaz. She met and married Zafar Ali Ujan, a leftist political worker and had two children with him. The liberal and politically charged content of Awaz drew the attention of the Zia regime and both Fahmida and Zafar were charged with multiple cases—the magazine shut down and Zafar was thrown in jail. Fahmida was bailed out by a fan of her works before she could be taken to jail and fled to India with her two small children and sister on the excuse of a Mushaira invitation. She had relatives in India and her husband later joined her there after his release from jail. The family spent almost seven years in exile before returning to Pakistan on the eve of Benazir Bhutto's wedding reception. During this time Fahmida had been poet in residence for a university in Dehli.
She was appointed MD of the National Book Foundation during Benazir Bhutto's first tenure and was later persecuted by the first Nawaz Sharif government, labelled an Indian agent and made virtually unemployable because of this threat. She worked three simultaneous jobs to support the needs of her growing children at this time. In the second tenure of Benazir's government, she was given a post at the Quaed e Azam Academy. When Benazir's government toppled a second time, Fahmida was again persona non grata for Islamabad.
Fahmida lost her son Kabeer in October 2007. He drowned while swimming with friends on a picnic. This was soon after Fahmida had translated fifty of Rumi's poems from Persian into Urdu, dedicated to Shams Tabriz. She was MD on the Urdu Dictionary Board from 2000-2011.
As an activist
Fahmida took part in social and political activities during her academic life. She got involved in student politics when she was student of M.A. in Sindh University. She spoke and wrote against the University Ordinance and the ban on the students' union during the Ayub Khan regime.
She spent many years in exile in India in the 1980s during the dictatorship of General Zia ul Haq, living in Delhi and teaching at Jamia Millia Islamia. She enjoyed the patronage of the Indian Government. Her husband, an activist of Sindhi nationalism, had also accompanied her to India. They returned to Pakistan quite disillusioned. Fahmida expressed the reasons for her disillusionment with the rise of Hindu nationalism in India in the following poem:

Her work is remarkable for its emotionally charged references to social and political injustice. She has been a prominent voice in the feminist struggle in Pakistan, where her poems both directly and insidiously erode at the foundations of male dominance. She has also published several gender equal stories, feminist translations, and some deconstruction of the criticism of feminist work.
Literary work
Her first poem was published in Funoon of Ahmed Nadeem Qasmi, when she was merely 15. Her first collection of poetry appeared just after two months of marriage at the age of 22.

Nawabzada Mirza Jamiluddin Ahmed Khan (Urdu: مرزا جمیل الدین احمد خان) better known as Jamiluddin Aali (Urdu: جمیل الدین عالی), PP, HI, (born 20 January 1926 in Delhi) is a noted Urdu poet, critic, playwright, essayist, columnist, and scholar of Pakistan.
Biography
Aali hails from a literary family of Delhi. His grandfather, Nawab Allauddin Ahmed Khan, was a friend and student of Ghalib. His father Sir Ameeruddin Ahmed Khan was also a poet, and his mother Syeda Jamila Baigum belonged to the family of Mir Dard. Aali earned a BA in Economics from Anglo Arabic College, Delhi. On 30 September 1944, Jamil married Tayaba Bano. They have five children (three sons and two daughters). His son, Raju Jamil, is a Television actor, while his second son Murad Jamil is a famous architect in Pakistan. In 1947, after the partition of India, his family migrated to Pakistan and settled in Karachi. He joined the Civil Services of Pakistan in 1951. In 1971 he obtained an FEL and LLB from Karachi University.
Political life
Aali was former member of the Pakistan Peoples Party and also contested the general elections on 7 March 1977 from NA-191, but lost. In 1997, he was elected as member of the Senate for a six-year term with support of Muttahida Qaumi Movement.[1]
