One of the few things they won’t tell you about raising a giant child…
It can be kind of gross… 🤢 especially if your giant son is an ugly crier who snots… a lot…🤧
~~~~~~~~~~~~
But it’s nice to know, no matter how big your giant son gets… he’ll always need his Dad(s) ☺️🥹
This is kind of similar to my story:
"The Biggest Heart!"
Where a young giant, named Stør, lives and goes to school in a country of smaller people, but he was born there and never met any other giants. He is very much a fish out of water, but this is all he's ever known.
When Stør started school in the 1st grade, he was about 11 and a half feet tall, and could still fit in the school building (though he would hit his head a lot). But by the time the story starts, he is 17 and 36 feet tall, and has to sit outside and look through the window.
Accommodations wise:
School: As stated before, Stør sits outside the school building, but if it’s raining, he’ll squeeze himself into the school gym or stay home and watch the lectures from his computer. Staying home also applies if he gets sick (which happened a lot when he was a kid).
Housing: His “room” is a converted barn, that’s about 45 feet long and 15 feet high. (He often smacks his head on the ceiling if he sits up too fast.) The floor is COVERED in hundreds of mattresses to keep him off the ground. His "room" is next to the actual house where his parents (Rudy (Werewolf) and Joseph (Human)) and his little sister (Sunday (Dhampir) all stay.
Food: Stør is able to eat because a powerful witch developed a potion to make human size food nutritionally proportional and filling to Stør, though the food size stays the same. This ensures he doesn’t starve and that he doesn’t eat a ton of food each meal. He eats about as much as an average human every meal, but he usually finishes in one bite. This potion must be added to his drinks or food before he eats it. Though the potion leaves an unpleasant aftertaste. Stør's father, Joseph -- a human chef-- makes it a point to create at least one meal per day that is big enough for his giant son, usually resorting to making a ton of soup and adding a lot of water to make it filling.
Clothes: Similar to the food situation, Stør's clothes have been enchanted by another powerful witch. All his clothes are originally human sized, but they are enchanted so that when Stør touches his clothes they grow proportional to his height.
Bathroom: The island of "Noma" has a lot of cave systems, Stør's house just happens to be near an isolated cave. It's tall enough that he doesn't need to bend down to enter, and dark/deep enough he wouldn't have to worry about people seeing him shower or doing his business. (Might be TMI) As stated before, Stør doesn't eat a lot, therefore doesn't need the restroom very often, only about once a week. But he definitely showers daily. The cave is fitted with a shower faucet and a place to wash his hands. Soap is enchanted to never run out and stay at a large size.
Entertainment: Stør has a projector in his room and watches movies with his friends and family while they sit on his chest. Since Stør is so large, he is restricted on where he can go, usually confined to a strict path from home to school and back. (Occasionally he can go to work on local farms (usually manual labor, click here for more on some of his jobs).) He and his friends will swim in the ocean near his house or watch movies in his room.
Restrictions
As stated before, Stør is restricted by the government of Noma in what he can do and where he can go.
When Rudy and Joseph tried to adopt Stør, at the age of 5, they were met with a lot of strict rules both they and their new son would have to follow or risk Stør being taken away.
(Read more about Stør adoption here)
(Read about Stør's early life and struggles adapting here)
The inspiration brain cells have started revving again!
I feel like I see a lot of stories where humans are integrated into giant schools, but imagine the reverse. As part of an integration program, a giant gets enrolled into a human school.
Just imagine it! He has to awkwardly sit outside the school building for most of his classes, listening in through the windows. From the inside, the human students just see a single eye peering through the glass.
He can't enjoy lunch in peace because his fellow classmates are terrified to see him eat. He's ridiculously smart but gets called "brute" all the time because of the stereotypes associated with giants. There are constantly helicopters and news reporters taking photos of him.
And maybe he can't even go home. Maybe it's a boarding school so he has to stay on campus in specially built accommodations. Of course he doesn't have a roommate or anyone to keep him company so the experience is super lonely.
Plus throughout all of this, he has to navigate the social expectations of being an adolescent. God forbid he gets moody at all, or else he'll be deemed a monster. How is he supposed to make friends when everyone runs away from him in fear?
The angst!! The potential for fluff and hurt/comfort!! I can't wait to write this
The Biggest Heart Story: Stør’s Job (Part 1)
Summary: A story of blossoming young love between a Giant and a Water Nymph. Mizu can’t explain it, but she feels like she needs to see her giant friend, Stør. Little does she know of the surprise that awaits her on the farm the giant teenager works on. (Very early stages of their relationship.)
Kæmpe Stør Giant (17yrs - 36ft) & Mizu Rivers Water Nymph (18yrs - 5’6)
"Is Stør home?" Mizu asked nervously, clutching her blue hands to her chest.
"No I'm sorry, Mizu, he's at work right now." Stør's human father, Joseph, said.
"Work?" Mizu repeated. She didn't know Stør had a job. Or more accurately, she didn't know he COULD have a job. She couldn't imagine many grocery stores were looking to hire a 36 foot high schooler to man the check out lines.
"Yeah, Kæmpe works odd jobs for the local farmers. Right now he’s at Old Briar’s place down the road." Joseph read the confusion on the Water Nymph's face. "He should be done soon if you want to wait here---"
"I'll go to him!" Mizu interrupted. She realized how rude she must have sounded, her already blue face became a darker shade and she couldn't make eye contact with the human before her. "S-sorry... I don't want to intrude on you and your family... I-I just need to talk to Stør about our class project really quick."
Joseph smiled at the young girl's flustered face, "no worries, Mizu." He took out a pen and paper from a nearby drawer and wrote the address of Old Briar’s farm and handed it to a very stiff Mizu. "I'm sure he'll be very happy to see you." Joseph gave her a wink and closed the door.
Mizu stood on the doorstep for a few moments, holding the piece of paper, face turning a dark shade of blue.
***
Walking down the dirt road became increasingly nerve wracking with every shaky step Mizu took.
Mizu felt ridiculous. Why was she there? Appearing unannounced at Stør’s house no less! She had been there a few times before, but never alone. Strega (Stør and Mizu’s mutual friend) always dragged her along to hang out. When Strega's friend got together, there were very few places they could all go if Stør was involved. This usually meant they just watched movies in his room or swam in the sea by his house.
But Mizu had never invited herself over before. Why was she doing this to herself?? Maybe she should just go home. The questions she has about their project could be easily answered with an email. She'd worked with Stør before on projects using email and video chats as their main form of communicating. Why did it feel like she needed to see and talk to him in person right now?
“That’s it! This is stupid. I’m going home.” Mizu huffed out loud to herself. The anxiety was becoming too much for her to handle. “I’m so stupid!” She repeated as she turned around.
Little did she realize, she had already arrived at Old Briar’s farm.
She felt the ground tremble slightly. Mizu's eyes widened as the treeline started to shake. She heard a low strained grunt.
Curiosity got the best of her. Mizu walked further down the road, following the sound, attempting to figure out what it was.
Old Briar’s farm was quite large, and surrounded by trees of various kinds, sizes, and thicknesses. There was a stretching field of crops that bordered the trees and went up and over the hills nearby. The property was surrounded by a wooden fence that came about shoulder height on Mizu.
She walked parallel to the fence till she made it to the edge of the woods where she finally spotted it--- him.
About 50 feet away from Mizu, there on the edge of the woods, stood Stør.
He was hunched over and gripping a large tree. It was tall enough to reach his mid torso. His large hands barely grasp fully around the trunk. It looked like the branches were scratching up his inner arms as he tried to get a better grip on the tree.
He wore a white tank top, covered in sweat from the hot afternoon sun, blue jeans, and thick work boots. (Once again, Mizu was amazed by the magic created to let a giant wear human clothes on a grand scale.)
Mizu could almost forget how tall Stør really was. From this far away, she could imagine her classmate as a normal sized teenager weeding in his backyard.
But the illusion quickly dissipated with a horrible wrenching sound coming from the tree as Stør used all his strength to uproot the plant and free its hold in the ground. Twigs and roots snapped and leaves scattered.
Mizu stared. She couldn't believe her eyes. As he exerted himself, she saw the muscles on his arms bulge. She never noticed how toned Stør was. In the three years Mizu had known him, she had only seen him wear baggy long sleeved shirts, even on the hottest summer days.
Rationally she knew Stør had to be strong. He was a 36 foot tall giant, of course he has to be strong compared to an average human. But watching him rip a massive tree out of the ground like it was nothing really cemented something Mizu had been thinking about since she met him…
Stør is holding himself back.
Mizu had heard Stør briefly mention his status of living on Noma. Being the only giant on the small Island nation led to a lot of red tape and trepidation when it came to his presence. Any mistake he makes could result in dire consequences for himself or others.
Stør’s life is constantly dictated by rules and harsh punishments.
After closely observing Stør for months, Mizu slowly realized he never lashed out. Even when faced with hatred or bullying or fear, he never retaliated or fought back. No negative words of others ever passed his lips. Stør kept a constant air of calm and control about his actions, features, and body. His movements were always slow and purposeful. He never raised his voice and he definitely never showed his full strength.
But here in this moment, uprooting a tree, when he thought he was alone… For once, Stør didn't need to hold back his strength. He didn't try to make himself smaller for other people's comfort. He didn't need to worry about hurting anyone. No one was running away screaming at the very sight of him.
In this brief moment, Stør was free.
After watching how the world treated Stør, this realization broke Mizu’s heart. Could Stør truly only be his true self in the absence of others? In the absence of his family, friends, or even Mizu herself?
Mizu thought she had experienced every curveball becoming friends with a giant could offer, from learning how to ride on his shoulder to how a giant navigated a world literally too small for his stature. But once again, Stør unknowingly turned her whole understanding of his life upside down.
In the past, Mizu has overheard other students call Stør a freak or a monster. Comments like these always made her see red. How could anyone think less of him? So what if he’s a LITTLE taller than most people? He’s still the sweetest guy Mizu has ever met. It infuriated her to no end.
But then she regrettably remembers the emotions she felt when she first laid eyes on the teenager (in the English class they shared three years ago). She felt nothing short of pure frozen terror. Worried he could at any moment decide to reach his hand through the classroom window and snatch her up from her desk, carrying her off to the gods mnow where, and hurt her.
She (unfortunately) can’t blame people for being afraid of her friend. And it seems Stør doesn’t blame them either.
Mizu watched as Stør regarded the large tree in his grasp. Something she could never hope to lift in her wildest dreams. He turned it from side to side as if admiring the poor tree he just forcefully evicted from the earth.
Then he turned and gently set the tree down in a large pile of other trees that too had been uprooted. A dozen massive trees lay on their sides, roots out for the world to see.
Stør wiped the sweat from his forehead and walked back to the tree line. He grabbed a hold of another tree with both hands. A slightly smaller one, but no less impressive. He looked like he was about to pull when suddenly, Stør looked up and locked eyes with Mizu.
Her body froze. Stør did the same. They stared at each other for what felt like an eternity.
Mizu was the first to find her voice, “Hi.” She called across the feild to him and waved.
This finally broke the spell, Stør quickly let go of the tree in his grasp. He curled in on himself in an attempt to look smaller.
Finally, his brain processed her presence in front of him to and allowed words to form.
“M-Mizu!?” Stør stuttered her name, he blinked rapidly as if hoping she wasn’t standing right there. “I didn’t see you,” Stør quickly grabbed his crumpled up plaid shirt from the ground, threw his arms into it, and immediately began buttoning up his baggy shirt.
Once again, here he was trying to hide himself. Hide his muscular arms in favor of a more round and soft outward appearance. Something more palpable to the average onlooker.
Mizu watched his personality change in real time, from a confident young giant to a scared timid child wishing to be anything other than what he was. Her heart ached at the fact he felt he needed to do this for someone he considered a friend.
“Don’t let me get in the way,” Mizu said as she climbed over the top of the wooden fence and sat on top. “You can keep on working.”
“No, no I was j-just about done anyway,” Stør rubbed the back of his neck, refusing to look at her. “I just need to take these– these to the other side of the property.” He vaguely gestured at the pile of large trees at his feet.
She usually found it cute when Stør stuttered with nerves, but in this moment, it felt like a knife slowly cut through her heart. He wouldn’t even look at her anymore. Stealing herself, she said, “Okay, I’ll go with you.”
Stør did a double take, “Wha— Are you sure?”
“Yes.” Mizu climbed down the rest of the fence and confidently walked across the field towards him.
“Y-you really don’t have to.” Stør sunk further into himself as he kneeled down. “It might-might take a while.”
Mizu shrugged, “I don’t have any plans.” She was now within reaching distance of the giant teenager. She had to look up at him to catch his eye. Mizu had to admit, his slouching and lowering of his body did help with neck pain when it came to keeping eye contact with a giant.
“But still… A-Are you sure, Mizu?”
Mizu rolled her eyes, “Yes I’m sure, Stør.” She was getting impatient.
“Okay…” his voice was unsteady.
Quickly changing topics before he could change his mind, Mizu clapped her hands together excitedly, “So how are we gonna transport these big-ass trees?”
Stør snorted at her abrasive language, he often forgets how foul mouthed this Water Nymph could be. “WE aren’t going to do anything. I just have to– to walk them over the hill to the other side of the farm house.”
“Fine then, since I can’t help you do all the heavy lifting, how about I keep you cool?” Mizu giggled. She held out her hand, and using her hydrokinesis, she pulled water from the surrounding air, “Can’t have you passing out from heat stroke while you do all the heavy lifting.”
Once the sphere of water was about the size of a bowling ball, she flung it straight at Stør’s face. It splashed harmlessly on his cheek, but he still reeled back expecting it to hurt. He slammed his eyes closed, but immediately felt the coolness of the water on his face, it was wonderful. He opened his eyes to find Mizu laughing, “You should have seen your face!”
Stør wiped the (to him) drop of water from his cheek, “Yeah, Yeah.” He rolled his eyes, but as he looked back down at Mizu he became serious. “I’m going to stand now. Is that alright?” He watched her closely for her reaction.
Mizu gave a quick nod. That was all he needed. Placing a hand on his knee as he slowly stood to his full height. He looked down to make sure Mizu hadn’t moved. She did not. Then he went to work.
He reached past the pile of uprooted trees and grabbed a long silver wire. It was huge and thick, she watched as he wrapped the trees in steel rope, which is usually used by giant cranes. He carefully tried the rope around the trees and fastened them in place. Then he lifted the pile of trees up, and using another long steel rope, attached them to his back.
Stør looked back down at his friend with trepidation at her reaction. Would she be frightened? But the look in her eye dispelled that worry. Her eyes were wide, sure, but not from fear. Awe and admiration danced on her face.
Slowly bending down, Stør lowered his free hand in front of Mizu, silently asking for her to climb aboard. Something she has done plenty of times in the past, and had said yes every time, but he made it a point to never grab anyone no matter how well they knew each other.
With his right hand entering her space, Mizu finally blinked and realized she had been staring for too long. She quickly looked away, blushing harder, and got to work.
Concentrating, she conjured up the moisture out of the ground and air. It was relatively easy with the high humidity and it had rained earlier that day. By the time she was done, Mizu had collected about as much water as a jacuzzi could hold. Hoping this would be enough, Mizu stepped onto his hand and began her ascent to Stør’s shoulder.
Now it was Stør’s turn to stare. The water danced alongside Mizu as she marched her way up his arm with a practice stride. Her steps tickled as she made the last stretch and slumped down on his shoulder with a huff. He tried to look at her, but she was too close to his neck that he could only see the top of her head. “Ready?” Stør said in a quiet voice due to her being so close.
Stør felt her grab his earlobe for balance. “Always.” Mizu said. The sphere of water flowed and changed at her whim beside his head, he could hear it splashing and gurgling by his ear like a stream.
With Mizu secured, Stør slowly stood up with a little more trouble than usual. He had to get up from a crouched position with heavy trees on his back weighing him down.
Sitting on Stør’s shoulder gave a view Mizu could never grow tired of. She was astonished to think Stør saw the world like this every day. What would be large rocks to step over, became unnoticeable pebbles in their path. She could see over the treeline and even a little bit of the ocean in the distance.
Stør was about to take his first step towards the farm house, when his breath hitched. A sudden cold sensation wrapped around his neck. Whatever it was it constantly moved like a soft stream around him.
Mizu had held up her end of the deal and created a water based neck wrap to help with the heat. It felt so wonderful on this hot day, that Stør briefly considered asking Mizu to join him every time he was out working. Her company and powers would definitely make the hours he spent in the sun much more enjoyable.
“Damn that feels good, thanks.” Was all Stør said as he started walking. Mizu just hummed pleasantly as she tried to focus on balancing on an ever moving giant shoulder and keeping her water powers stable.
“You can drink some if you want. It’s clean.” She raised a ball of water to his lips. To him it was just a sip, but to her the sphere of water was about the size of her head.
“Not— not right now.” Stør stammered. “Maybe later?” He always felt too awkward drinking her magic, it felt like taking a bite out of her. When he had tasted her enchanted water in the past, it continued to move as if it were alive in his mouth. He knew from his magical species class, any water she touches gets imbued with her essence as long as her magic is linked. To drink water while still activated by her hydrokinesis made him feel icky.
There was a long stint of silence between them. Neither knew what to say, as they passed over the hill. Mizu could tell Stør felt off. “What’s wrong?” Mizu glanced at his worried expression. He continued to stare at the ground, watching his step.
“I-it’s nothing.” Stør said not looking at her.
“Stør, please?” Mizu’s voice was soft in his ear.
He hesitated, several things were wrong right now, but he settled on one. “It’s just… I-I’m sorry if I smell,” Stør dreaded her being so close to him normally, but now the anxiety was unbearable. He had been working in the hot sun for hours resulting in him certainly smelling like body odor and sweat.
Once again she giggled in his ear, a sound that set his soul aflame. “Stør, did you forget what I am?” She splashed his cheek once again with a ball of water to remind him. Water Nymphs’s bodies were made entirely out of water. They have no need to breathe or smell like normal creatures, because they take in oxygen through their skin. They live in dark underground caves filled with water. Their senses are dedicated to their large eyes and ears or to their hydrokinetic powers. “You could jump in raw sewage and I wouldn’t know the difference.”
Stør chuckled to himself, relieved at her reminder of her species. He liked that Mizu was a Water Nymph. He liked a lot of things about Mizu. Her passion and kindness. Her blue hair was made of water and it flowed like a stream through a single drop would never fall to the floor. Her laugh was contagious and sweet as honey. And her smile… Oh Gods, it was a rare treat indeed, if only he could find ways to make that smile never fade… A-And he guessed her being unable to smell his body odor was a bonus too…
The rest of the trip didn’t last more than a few minutes. The pair chatted about nothing in particular, but neither minded, comforted by the other’s presence.
Stør & Mizu in Lilliput Pt.2 (not canon)
She screamed his name once more, but her voice was fuzzy and unfamiliar to his ears. She sounded so distant. Through his closing tunnel vision, he could see the tears stream down her face.
Seeing her crying and screaming for him… it was too much. He had promised her long ago that he would never be the cause of her tears, but here she was crying… because of him.
Something in him snapped.
Using the last of his strength, Stør reared back, raising his fists over his head. The tightness of the ropes were ignored as adrenaline rushed through his body. He only had one shot. He needed to make this count.
He struck the ground with all 12 tons of body weight.
To Mizu it all happened in slow motion. “…S-stør?…”
She watched as her boyfriend rose high into the air and come back down with the force of a bomb.
She had enough time to prepare herself for impact. “Oh gods…”
The ground rocked and shook like an earthquake. Mizu and her captors we launched a few feet in the air.
When Mizu sat up, her captors lay on the ground, “H-he knocked them out…”
She watched as the humans, who weren’t unconscious, ran away from the giant, afraid of the beast’s power.
The earth shook once more as Stør lost the strength to hold himself up. He completely collapsed under the strain of the ropes and the weight of his own body.
“STØR?!” Mizu cried out.
She quickly ran to his face.
Tears in her eyes, she was terrified he was going to die.
He didn’t respond to her voice. His face became a sickening shade of blue and his features contorted in pain.
Using her hydrokenysis, Mizu quickly sliced the rope around his neck. All the constraints on his body fell away as Stør finally was able to take a full breath.
Stør & Mizu in Lilliput Pt 3 (not canon)
Part 1 / Part 2 / Part 4
***
Using her hydrokenysis, Mizu quickly sliced through the rope around his neck. All the constraints on his body fell away as Stør finally was able to take a full breath.
He instantly began coughing and hacking, but this sound was like music to Mizu’s ears. Though she was a Water Nymph, and therefore didn’t need to breathe, she still understood how vital it was for him to survive. If he could cough, he could breathe, if he could breath he would live.
She gently stroked his forhead encouraging him, “That’s it baby, keep breathing.”
Stør finally opened his eyes, he could see his girlfriend’s small form becoming less fuzzy in his vision.
He finally found his voice, though it was hoarse and shaky, “M-mizu?” He slowly reached for her.
She shushed him and continued to stroke his head, “don’t speak.”
Mizu gasped as she felt something strong and thick snake its way around her waist. She looked down to see it was just Stør’s hand.
He pulled her away from his head and infront of his face so he could finally see her. His eyes danced over her, checking her for injuries. “Mizu… a-are you ok-ay?” He croaked.
There he goes again, Mizu thought.
“Damn it, Stør! Why can’t you just be selfish for once?!” She yelled at him.
“You need to worry about yourself!” She began to ramble and she couldn’t stop. “You could’ve broken those bonds easily, but you used up the last of your strength savings ME! Even though it’s my fault we got into this mess in the first place!”
“Well?!” She cried out, “Say something!”
He chuckled lightly, his throat still soar and his voice rough, “But… you told me not to-to speak…”
She finally huffed a laugh, “Of course you only listen to me when it’s convenient.” But her smile was brief, taken over by her rising fear and sadness of almost losing Stør.
She couldn’t hold back anymore. She began sobbing again.
Stør lightly slid the pad of his thumb across her face, wiping her tears. He was so careful, as if she was the most precious thing in the world.
And to him… she was.
She turned and hugged his thumb tightly.
Stør was brought to tears at the sight of her. Broken down and upset. There was little the giant could do for her at this moment, but try and comfort the one he loved.
Soon, Old Briar’s farm house came into view. It had a lovely little brick house with a big red barn next to it. What was odd about it was that to the right of the barn, were several large and deep holes in the earth, evenly spread apart and too uniform to have been made by nature.
Sitting on the porch of the house, Mizu could see an older male with large pointed ears, pale green skin and white stringy hair. Old Briar was a Nymph like Mizu, but a different kind. He dressed like he had just come back from a renaissance festival, but more than likely this was his regular wear. Most of the Tree Nymphs Mizu knew sported this look and it seemed Old Briar was no different.
Owning a giant farm and being a Tree Nymph was an ingenious idea, Mizu thought. His agrokinesis would allow him to help influence plants and crops to grow multiple times a year, both in and out of season.
Finally, stepping in front of the barn, Stør gently pulled the trees from his back and set them on the ground.
“I can see you found a little flower in my garden, Stør.” Old Briar called out to the giant. He looked up at her quizzically, immediately clocking Mizu as a Water Nymph.
Stør slowly raised a hand to his shoulder, inviting Mizu to get off, she did, and with a practiced hand she gave two slaps on his palm to indicate she was ready, and he slowly lowered her to the ground.
Old Briar met her after she stepped off the giant’s palm. Once Mizu was off, Stør pulled himself back so as to not crowd the pair. Old Briar reached out and shook Mizu’s hand and gave a brief introduction.
Watching them, Stør noticed Mizu’s left hand stayed in the air, her fingers wiggling. He still felt the stream of water flow along his neck continuously keeping him cool. Mizu was multitasking, conversing and keeping a constant flow of magic at her fingertips. Stør was touched that she worried about him. She is always caring. Always present. That’s the Mizu he knew.
“You should meet the wife.” Old Briar said before he turned and yelled towards the house, “Rosie!”
“What?!” A shrill voice came from inside.
“Rosie, we have another guest!” Old Briar yelled back.
A window slammed open and an old Tree Nymph woman’s head popped out. Her skin was dark green and her hair was made of leaves that would have reached to her shoulders if she didn’t have it in a bun. She caught Mizu’s eye and groaned at her husband, “Why do you never tell me BEFORE people are coming? I look dreadful, like I haven’t been in the sun in days!”
“You look lovely as always, my blossom.” Old Briar said robotically, as if he had to reassure his wife constantly. Rosie huffed and slammed the window shut.
After a few moments, Rosie walked out of the house clearly annoyed with her husband. She too was dressed for the Renaissance fair. She wiped her hands on her white apron as she walked past the other two Nymphs and straight to the Giant boy kneeling before the house.
“Stør! It’s always good to see you, how’s your father doing, still writing that cook book?” Rosie said as she got closer to Stør, ending up in his long shadow, but the older woman didn’t seem to mind looking straight up to meet his eyes. She wasn’t intimidated by his looming figure.
“Yes, he’s fine!” Stør’s smile widened at the spunky old Nymph lady. “Apparently, he’s planning on publishing it this spring.”
“Oh wonderful! Tell him I’ll be first in line for an autograph!”
Mizu listened politely as they chatted, but her mind started to wander. It was always jarring to see a ‘normal’ sized person next to Stør. Rosie was a little shorter than Mizu’s 5’6 frame.
Mizu wondered if that is really what she looks like next to the giant teenager. Rosie was absolutely dwarfed just by Stør’s hand alone. Standing on the ground, Rosie was a little taller than his ankle. Even kneeling, Stør is tall, large and intimidating. No matter how much he tries to accommodate others, he can’t change that fundamental fact.
In this moment, Mizu realizes how rare it was to see someone— outside of Stør’s family and friends— to confidently talk directly up at him and maintain eye contact. Even most of the teachers in their school won’t even talk to him at ground level, they’ll have their conferences on the roof of the school to be at eye level with the giant.
“And who might this be?” Rosie said. Mizu finally snapped out of her wandering thoughts to see Rosie looking directly at her.
“This- This is Mizu,” Stør stuttered. “She’s my…”
“I’m his friend.” Mizu walked to Rosie and shook her hand. She looked up at the giant to see him practically beaming. Mizu knew Stør didn’t have many friends, so to hear her say those words out loud clearly made him very happy.
Rosie studied Mizu. The older Nymph stared long enough to make the teenager feel self conscious. “You’re a Water Nymph, right?” Rosie asked, then quickly corrected. “Stupid question, I know, but you’d be perfect! I need your help in the kitchen.”
“But what about Stø–”
“Oh hush darling, let the boys get back to their work, I need you now!” Rosie said as she ushered Mizu inside the house.
“W-wait!” Mizu twisted out of Rosies way, she held her hands up and collected the water from Stør’s neck. He instantly started sweating again, missing the cool feeling Mizu’s magic provided.
All three watched in amazement as Mizu formed a giant bubble of water in front of her, and concentrating very hard, she thrust her hands forward and the bubble dropped into a solid block of ice. It was about as tall as Mizu, and perfectly see through. Mizu smiled up at Stør, his mouth still wide open in shock, “There, in case you need to cool down while I’m gone.” And with that, Mizu followed Rosie into the kitchen.
The first thing Mizu noticed was the trail of dirt coming in from the backdoor that led to a small potted lemon tree in the middle of the kitchen, as if it had been dragged inside the house. The next thing she noticed was a long green hose from outside sticking into the pot, watering the tree.
Seeing Mizu’s confused expression, the older Nymph explained, “I’m trying to make enough lemonade for Stør.” Rosie gestured to a large washtub near the tree that only contained a few inches of the yellowish liquid. Mizu realized Rosie intended to fill the tub and offer it to the giant.
“You know he has those potions for food and drinks, right?” Mizu pointed out. “You could just give him a pitcher of Lemonade and call it a day.”
Previously, Strega had explained that her mother, a powerful witch, had developed a potion to make human size food nutritionally proportional and filling to Stør, though the food size stays the same. This ensures he doesn’t starve and that he doesn’t eat a ton of food each meal. He eats about as much as an average human every meal but he usually finishes in one bite. This potion must be added to his drinks or food before he eats it. Stør mention to Mizu that the potion leaves an unpleasant aftertaste.
“I know dear, but it’s not the same. A glass would be like only a single drop to him, just doesn't feel right,” Rosie said.
Mizu deeply understood. The accommodations and loopholes Stør has to jump through just to live were mind boggling. She wished the world would change for Stør and not the other way round. With Rosie’s kind eyes, it seems others also shared this ideology.
Rosie turned to the lemon tree and placed her hands on the trunk. “If you could get the rest of the juice in those lemons and put it in the tub that would be great.” She nodded to a small pile of cut lemons that had been squeezed. Mizu could sense the liquid still trapped in them. “And in a second I’ll have more so if you could be a doll and use your powers on ‘em, you’d have an easier time getting all the juice out of a lemon than me trying to squeeze ‘em with my bare hands.”
Mizu did as she was asked, she hovered her blue hands over the lemons, calling the moisture within to her grasp. She made quick work of them, Leaving the lemons as flattened, hollow versions of themselves. She pulled out enough juice to fill one cup, she guided the bubble of liquid to the tub and let it drop inside.
Mizu looked at Rosie and her eyes grew wide. The older Nymph was using her power to make the tree produce lemons at a rapid pace. Little white flowers bloomed and in an instant lost their petals, then they became small green balls, only to grow rapidly and change color to yellow. It was magnificent.
When she was finished, Rosie wiped her brow, this process clearly took a lot of energy. The older woman turned to Mizu and spoke as if she had just run a mile, “Be a dear and help me pick them, Mizu?”
Mizu did as she was asked and soon the pair found themselves making lemonade quickly. Rosie cut the lemons and Mizu dehydrated them and filled the tub with their juice. When they ran out of lemons, Rosie would turn back to the tree to grow more.
They continued this till they felt they had enough juice to rationalize adding the water and sugar to the tub. To which Rosie happily boiled the sugar and water to add to the mixture.
Finally finished, Mizu and Rosie took a glass each to taste test all our hard work. Mizu wasn’t a fan of lemonade, but to her it tasted fine enough and Rosie seemed satisfied.
Now the hard part, transporting several gallons of lemonade outside without spilling it. Rosie and Mizu grabbed the handle on either side of the tub. Using her free hand, Mizu focused on keeping the liquid in the basin, ensuring the contents didn’t spill out with every uneasy step to the front door.
Eventually, the pair made it out the door and down the porch stairs. Mizu quickly spotted Stør hunched over near the barn, his back turned to them.
Mizu noticed her ball of ice wasn’t in the dirt where she left it last. Hm.
“Stør!” Rosie called out, waving her free hand over her head, “Over here.”
At the sound of his name, the giant turned, his large eyes locked on the two female Nymphs carrying the tub. Mizu’s suspicions were answered as she saw her ice ball in his large hand being rubbed on his neck to help cool himself down. Mizu smiled.
They set the tub on the ground before the giant boy. Both women took a few steps back out of sheer respect for the giant hand coming their way. Stør carefully picked up the large wash tub. It suddenly became laughably small in his hands. After all that hard work, it was about as much as a mouthful of liquid to him.
Raising it to his face, his eyes widened. “Is this Lemonade? Y-you really didn’t have to—”
“Well, it’s a gift,” Rosie’s spunky personality showed through again. “So no take backs.”
“Yes ma'am, thank you so much!”
“Don’t just thank me, Mizu here helped.”
His eyes landed on the Water Nymph. She nervously fiddled with her blue hair as she began blushing from his intense eyes.
“Thank you, Mizu.”
“O-of course, anything for you.”
Stør blushed a little too. He cleared his throat and sipped on the lemonade hoping to make it last. He savored it to the last drop. He thought he could taste the faintest lingering of magic from either Mizu or Rosie. It wasn’t uncomfortable, it was kind of… pleasant, an added sweetness and love to the flavor.
When he finished, he handed the tub to Rosie and once again thanked her for thinking of him. The older Nymph hushed him and went back into the farm house.
Meanwhile, Mizu was talking to Old Briar about using her Hydrokinesis to help reinstall the trees Stør pulled out of the earth.
Old Briar had hired Stør to rip out the trees from the forest on his property so they could extend their crop feilds. Instead of hiring an entire crew to cut down the trees, killing them completely, Old Briar realized he could just ask Stør to uproot them and transport them to a new location. Saving time, money and the trees themselves.
Now, the plan was for Stør to do the (literal) heavy lifting and hold the trees in place as Briar helped the trees grow new roots, and while Mizu would water them to make them grow stronger. They could do this without her help, but it would definitely go a lot faster if she was there watering the trees. Without watering the trees it would take a lot more energy for Briar to keep his powers going and for Stør to hold the trees in place for a long time. So, Mizu’s talents were greatly appreciated.
Before they started, Old Briar ran back into the farm to get something, but he told the pair they can begin without him.
“You heard the man, pick up those big-ass trees and let’s get to work!” She rubbed her hands together getting ready to summon a large quantity of water from the earth and air.
Stør was silent and he didn’t move.
“What are you waiting for?” Mizu asked.
Stør debated if he should say what’s on his mind. “It’s just— I’m uncomfortable doing this with you—you watching…” he finished lamely.
“Do I make you uncomfortable?” Mizu’s eyes grew wide. Was her coming here a mistake? Did he not want to see her in the first place? Would things have been better for him if she never showed up at all? These worries buzzed through her mind and she felt herself (literally) melt a little.
“No! No! Never!” He frantically shook his head.
“Then what’s the big deal?” Mizu said. “I already saw you pull up one of those trees earlier.”
Stør sighed, “I was kind of hoping you didn’t see that…”
“Why?”
“I-it’s not just you… I wouldn’t want to do this in front of ANYONE. Not my friends or my parents… and especially not in front of you… I don’t want to-to… freak you out…”
“Stør, can you look at me?” Mizu asked as she walked closer to his large hand laying in the dirt.
He cautiously looked up where she stood. His eyes widened to see how close she got to his hand. A hand that was as tall as she was. She had no fear in her eyes, though she knew fully well that hand could spring to life at any moment and grab her. But she had known Stør long enough to never have to worry about that.
Stør had always been afraid of what he was capable of, but it was that fear that ensured Mizu’s safety. Not just her own, but everyone around Stør. He was always conscious and aware of the power he had over people. Ever determined to prove that he wasn’t the monster people (and himself) worried he might become.
Mizu placed her small blue hand on his knuckle, “I don’t want you to feel like you have to hold back around me anymore, Stør. The Gods know you already do it so much for everyone else.” She spoke earnestly. “If it’s just the two of us, you shouldn’t have to hide yourself from me.”
The contact from such a small appendage sent lightning through his hand, up his arm, and straight to his head. His brain short circuited for a moment and his cheeks flushed a little. The power this girl had over him was… overwhelming.
“Please Stør, I really am your friend.” Mizu looked at him with her big puppy eyes.
Gods, he could never say no to those eyes. “Alright,” Stør spoke softly. Softer than she had ever heard him speak before.
She gave a squee of delight and threw her arms around his pointer finger. It was half her height but almost as thick as her torso. It was the closest approximation to a proper hug a giant could hope for. Sure, his family or some of his friends had hugged him like this before. (If it was his little sister, Sunday, he’d start swinging his finger back and forth.)
But this was Mizu Rivers, a girl who had never tried to hug him before this moment. The Water Nymph who he met in his English class freshman year. The girl who once stuck her head out the classroom window, to talk to him, and almost fell out. She was clumsy and caring. She was one of a kind. To Stør, she was everything.
She let go of his hand and quickly spun around. She raised her arms, and with a devilish grin she called the water from the earth and air. Stør watched with amazement. She looked up at him, “let’s get to work!”
“Yeah, let’s get to work.”
***
Several dozen holes filled and tree roots reinstated later, Mizu and Stør were once again in front of the small farm house.
Old Briar had run inside the house to retrieve Stør’s payment for his work. He returned with several large bills. Now that they were finished, Stør placed his hand in front of the farmer and thanked him as Old Briar placed the money in his hand.
It was comical to see the small flecks of paper laying in his hand. They seemed to get lost in the folds of his palm. Stør carefully counted the money, and when he was satisfied, he placed them in a wallet that was about as tall as Mizu, and put it in his back pocket.
“Here you are, Miss Mizu, for your work today.” Old Briar handed her a crisp $50 bill.
“Oh no, I couldn’t, I-I didn’t expect anything.” She handed it back to Old Briar.
“Nonsense, you helped out a great deal, you deserve it.” Rosie took the bill from her husband and placed it in the Water Nymph’s blue hands.
“I-I don’t know, it-it doesn’t feel right—“ Mizu started.
“It’s best just to take the money, Mizu. One time I found cash stuffed in my shoe.” Stør shook his head at the memory, “I still don’t know how Mrs. Rosie managed that.”
“Same way I get my husband to do things, sheer stubbornness.” Rosie said mischievously as she bumped into her husband’s side. He lovingly wrapped an arm around her.
“You two should get home before the sun sets.” Old Briar held out his hand for Mizu to shake. “It was a pleasure meeting you Mizu, and you’re more than welcome to come back and help anytime. We can always use talents like yours on the farm.”
“Thank you. I really enjoyed my time here.” Mizu said and she meant it. She usually doesn’t get the opportunity to use her hydrokinesis powers to its full extent, this was a nice change of pace. She briefly considered taking them up on the offer. She turned and looked up at the neiling giant, maybe she will. “Stør, can I get a lift?”
He smiled gently at his dear friend, “Of course.” He said as he lowered his large hand, Mizu quickly stepped on it. She patted his palm twice, and he slowly raised her up to his left shoulder and waited til she sat down. He felt two taps on his neck to inform him she was ready for him to move.
A few more goodbyes later and Stør was walking down the dirt road to his house. Normally this walk would take only a few minutes with his long legs, but he found himself going slower and taking the scenic route.
Stør listened as Mizu excitedly pointed out rock formations in the distance or that she could sense a stream not too far from view. Seeing the world from this high up was normal to him, it was mundane, but having Mizu here with him, it was like seeing his world through new eyes. She pointed out the littlest details in the horizon he would have overlooked.
Stør’s home was finally in view, he wanted to ask the question he’d been wondering since Mizu showed up on Old Briar’s farm.
“Mizu?” Stør said softly.
“Yes?”
“N-never mind, it’s not important.” Stør quickly backtracked. Internally he kicked himself because he lost his courage and crumbled instantly.
“It’s okay, you can ask, I’m sure it is important.” Mizu leaned forward on his shoulder trying to catch his eye.
Stør glanced at her briefly and looked away. Gods she was adorable.
“I-is there a reason you came to find me on the farm?” Stør asked nervously. “N-not that I don’t like your company! You’re always more than welcome to-to tag along…” he finished lamely, cheeks turning bright red.
Mizu paused for a long moment. She had come to ask how they were going to split the research portion of their project, but it was a dumb excuse anyway. She didn’t have a real reason to hang out with him. But did she really need one? All she knew is that she wanted to be here with Stør.
“No… No reason.” Mizu said as she placed a small blue hand on the heart shaped birthmark on his neck. It was the size of her hand with her fingers spread. “I just wanted to see you.” She practically whispered in his ear.
Her light touch on his neck and the sound of her voice sent energy bursting through Stør’s entire body and soul. His brain was on fire. He felt he could die happily right now.
Mizu didn’t know why or when or where it started, but in these moments, between a Water Nymph and a giant, she was truly happy.
Kæmpe Stør’s life part 4.5:
Part 1, / Part 2 / Part 3 / Part 4
__________________________________________
Teacher: Alright, the prompt for your short answer was this: “When Gulliver finds himself on Lilliput and meets the Lilliputians, he is astonished and surprised. Describe how YOU would feel being a ‘giant’ in his situation.” (Looks out the window) Stør, sorry to put you on the spot, but can you try to answer this question?
(The entire class looks out the window to the giant boy sitting outside.)
Stør: W-well, that’s hard to say… Gulliver was originally part of a world of people his own size. A-And when he went to Lilliput, that was new and strange… But… I’d be the complete opposite. I’ve always been the biggest guy around… so it would probably be more strange for me to go to a land where people are my size... You know?
------------------------------------------
Mizu was still very nervous around Stør's large size, but she did get more used to talking to Stør at eye level out the second story window of the classroom.
As Mizu and Stør worked on the project, they grew a little closer.
——————
Mizu: I’m really enjoying Gulliver’s travels so far!
Stør: Me too! I didn’t really like the cartoon, but the book’s good so far.
Mizu: Oh, yeah? I haven't seen the movie yet, I try to read the book before I watch an adaptation.
Stør: Well, aren't you just a book worm!
Mizu: (giggle) I love reading!
(pause) W-well...
Mizu: A-at least I used too... I don't really have much time to read anymore...
Stør: (international monologue: OMG?! What did I say?? She’s crying!?! I must have freaked her out somehow!)
Stør: (out loud:) H-hey Mizu? Are you alright?
Mizu: I-I’m sorry… I have to go…
Stør: M-mizu wait…
----------------------------------------
TW: (parental death and bullying)
Stør didn't know it at the time, but Mizu was struggling, her mother was sick and dying.
Nero (her cousin) became a very negative influence on her, dragging Mizu to parties even though they are 14 and encouraging her to do bad things.
Eventually, Mizu does fall. The pain at home is too much.
As the year progresses, Stør begins to recognize Mizu less and less. She basically becomes a clone of Nero and stops talking to Stør all together.
Mizu follows Nero and begins bullying other students. One kid even had to leave the school because the bullying got so bad. Stør didn't like what he was seeing at all. In fact, he he grew to hate what she had become.
Then one day Mizu stops coming to school, and didn't come back for two years.
Stør & Mizu in Lilliput pt. 4 (Not canon)
Part 1 / part 2 / part 3
***
A/N: Stør is not nude lol, I was just too lazy to draw clothes 🤪
***
In the distance, Stør could hear the return of the lilliputians. They most likely brought reinforcements.
He looked down to his girl in his hand, “Mizu, I-I think it’s time to go…”
Mizu looked into his eyes. She could hear them too.
Stør was still hurt, she didn’t want to push him but she knew they needed to get out quickly.
She clutched his thumb tighter and nodded, “yeah.”
Stør began to rise, he was shaking, still lightheaded and injured.
He was finally able to get to his feet, he wobbled. Suddenly, Stør’s knees buckled under his 12 ton weight. He fell to his knee as Mizu screamed.
Out of reflex, Stør gripped Mizu a little tighter to ensure she didn’t fall.
Stør managed to not fall over completely. He clutched his other hand to his head. He felt like a bomb went off in his brain. “Shit.” He muttered. The world was spinning in his eyes.
“Stør!” She clung to his hand, she could feel him shaking all around her, “Are you okay?!”
“Yeah… I think so… I’m just really dizzy…” He finally opened his eyes and looked at the girl in his fist. “Are you okay?”
“I’m fine! Just please worry about yourself and go!” Mizu begged.
“Alright.” Stør said determined. He would get them both out of there safely. He had to.
Stør was finally stable enough to stand, though his legs still shook. He looked down at his girlfriend, held her closer to his heart, and gave her a reassuring smile, “let’s go home.”
“Yeah…” Mizu smiled.
Home.
Stør & Mizu in Lilliput pt. 1 (not canon)
Part 2 here
***
A/N: I drew this a while ago, and intended to make this into a digital comic, but I ran out of time and it’s just been sitting around for MONTHS. So here’s the messy version 🫣🫠🤷♀️ the white marks are covering my notes from class, so just ignore it lol 😀
This takes place after Stør and Mizu are officially a couple 👩❤️💋👨 idk how they ended up on Lilliput and it honestly doesn't really matter lol because it’s not canon 🫡 enjoy!
***
Stør began to panic as magical ropes snaked their way around the young giant’s body, restricting his movements.
Mizu’s eyes widened in terror, to watch the one she loves being treated this way. She cried out to him.
She turned to the culprits, a group of terrified humans who seemed to like to shoot first and ask questions later.
“STOP!” She yelled at them, “You have to right to treat him like this! He’s innocent—“
Wordlessly a couple of men grabbed Mizu.
“Don’t you touch me!” Mizu screamed, “Let me go!”
“Mizu?!” Stør heard the anger and panic in her voice and looked up at her to see she was surrounded by these strange and violent humans. She struggled as they began to drag her away.
In his moment of distraction, the ropes suddenly gained the upperhand and pulled tightly around his neck, forcing Stør on his hands and knees.
Stør’s blood ran cold as he realized he couldn’t breathe anymore, the ropes were constricting his airways.
Mizu saw the distress in his eyes as she continued to fight and scream his name. She begged the men dragging her away to let her go. She couldn’t bear to leave him.
He became light headed as his world grew darker and darker.
She screamed his name once more, but her voice was fuzzy and unfamiliar to his ears. She sounded so far away.
Through his closing tunnel vision, Stør could see tears stream down her face.
He promised her a long time ago that he would never be the reason she cried… but here she was crying because of him.
Something in him snapped.
I got your answer to last question but how does stør age is it like a human or is it slower? Is he still growing?
Stør ages like a human, and just like any human 17 year old, he is still has a lot of growing to do. Though no one really knows how tall he might get, which deeply distresses the poor boy😔 (As mentioned here.) He’ll probably stop growing in his early 20s.
Stør is practically human in every aspect except for his size. So much so, that he even donates his blood by the gallons for extra cash. He is actually a universal donor, so his contribution to helping injured/sick humans of Noma is greatly appreciated.
***
Not much is known about the giants of this world. They come from a land on the other side of the world. They are very secretive and cut all contact with the outside world.
No one knows how Stør got to the island of Noma, and he definitely couldn’t tell anyone because he couldn’t speak a word of English. He spoke what one might assume is the Giant language, but no one is sure.
By the start of the story, Stør has lost the language completely.
His early years are a blur and he honestly doesn’t really want to remember. He gets a strong sad and longing feeling if he thinks to long about the giant family he might have lost.
***
When Stør was first discovered at the orphanage, the government of Noma tried to contact the giant country, but were unsuccessful.
G/t July day 3: Plush
Let's go in the garden
You'll find something waiting
Right there where you left it lying upside down
When you finally find it, you'll see how it's faded
The underside is lighter when you turn it around
Everything stays right where you left it
Everything stays
But it still changes
Ever so slightly, daily and nightly
In little ways, when everything stays…
To Stør, it’s comforting to see not everything changes as he continues to grow.
Kæmpe Stør’s life part 1:
Joseph: Human, Blonde hair, Age 29, 6'0, He/him, (Married to Rudy)
Rudy: Werewolf, Blue hair, Age 30, 6'3, He/Him, (Married to Joseph)
Kæmpe Stør: Giant, Brown hair, Age 5, 10'1, He/him
------------------------------------------------------------
Before Stør was adopted, he was underfed and wore rags because the orphanage couldn’t properly feed or clothe a growing giant child.
He was found alone, sleeping on the doorstep of the orphanage. No note. No parent. No one knows how he ended up there, giants don’t live anywhere near the nation of Noma.
He was very quiet and kept to himself. Most people were afraid of him, since giants were belived to be dangerous, though no one has ever seen a giant other than Stor.
One day: the newlyweds, Joseph and Rudy, came to adopt a child. Joseph fell in love with Stor immediately. Rudy was a little more hesitant, thinking of the financial difficulties that would come with raising a giant. That is until…
------------------------------------------------------------
Stør: Mr. Rudy, What’s a zoo?
Rudy: It’s a place they keep animals, why do you ask?
Stør: Oh, I heard the nuns talking to a man about taking me to live there. Do you think they'll have purple elephants like in my storybook, Mr. Rudy?
------------------------------------------------------------
*In the Orphanage office*
Joseph: THEY’RE GOING TO DO WHAT?!???
Rudy: Yes! I couldn’t believe it either when the kid told me! (To the Nuns) Please tell us this is a sick joke.
Nun 1: …I’m afraid it isn’t… it’s true, they are planning to take young Stør… to live in a Zoo...
Rudy: Who is “they?”
Nun 2: The government… we can’t afford to keep him here…
Joseph: So they’re gonna put him in a zoo?! Like he’s some kind of freak?! An Animal!? He’s only five years old!
Nun 1: Yes, he’s a child… but he’s gonna keep growing… We are having enough trouble feeding the other orphans here, let alone a rapidly growing giant… we can’t afford for him to live here.
Nun 2: At the zoo, he’ll be well taken care of, well fed, and maybe he’ll be happier--
Rudy: What can we do to prevent this?
Joseph: Rudy, what are you—
Rudy: I’ll do anything for that kid.
Nun 1: He has no family to step in and stop this… no real home… no clothes, shelter or food…
Rudy: If we could give him these right now, would it change this? A home, food, shelter… a family, would it change?
Joseph: Rudy! Do you mean it?!
Nun 2: Well… you will have to prove you have suitable arrangements for his needs. And you would need to become his legal guardians… But yes. I will support you in every way possible.
Rudy: Then let’s get our son out of here.
Joseph: (runs and jumps into his husband’s arms) Oh, Rudy! Thank you! Thank you! (Kisses him on the mouth) Lets get our baby boy home!
Meet Strega
Name: Strega
Age: 15
Height: 5'1
Pronouns: She/Her
Sexuality: Yes 😏
Species: Witch (human)
Birthday: June 21st
Family: Mother Magie (Most powerful Potions master in the world), Father Elijah (human, Stay at home husband), The older Twins Jadis & Merlin "Lin" (both competent and powerful mages), Strega is the middle child, Little brother Sortem (starting to show signs of prophetic abilities), little baby girl Yaga (Already showing high levels of magic energy).
Likes: Showing off her magic, her friends, cute stuffed animals, doodling on her robe, Flying.
Dislikes: Magic tests, being treated differently because of her mom, being compared to her siblings and mother, worrying
Strega struggles with controlling the amount of magic she puts out when casting a spell, usually leading to a single strong burst of power and Strega passing out.
————————————————————————-
Fun Fact: Witches powers can be put into 3 main categories: Magic, Potions, and Enchantment.
Magic is self explanatory, memorizing spells to do specific tasks, it requires a constant flow of magic
Potions requires a lot of training of the magical herbs of the world, and knowing what goes together. And at the end one needs to add magic to get the ingredients together properly.
Enchantment means a witch embus an object with their magic that doesn't constantly need a spell to keep it going. The witch who casts a chair to dance can leave the room and the chair will keep it up with out them. Enchantment requires an EMENCE amount of magical energy to be put into an object all at once. Enchantment usually requires at least 2 witches to work on so one doesn't loose all their magic at once.
Each witch should have a basic understanding of each category. To fly a broom it requires the broom to be enchanted in the first place, then a witches magic to get it to fly where is needed.
Each Witch is given a medallion that represents their station/level. Within those medallions are color coordination to indicate one's class within, but here's the four basic categories of medallions given. The Star represents a beginner/practicing mage, Strega has this. Bubbles represent Potions, her mother has a mastery level of this. Wand represents Magic, her sister Jadis is about to get her’s. And finally a Rose represents Enactment, The hardest one to achieve.
——————————————————————————
Bonus Fun Fact: Strega's father was one of Joseph’s (Stor's dad) grooms men at his wedding to Rudy. And in turn Joseph was her dad's groomsman at his wedding to his wife Magie. When Joseph and Rudy adopted Stør, they had a problem of trying to feed a constantly growing giant, so they reached out to Strega's mom, the strongest potions master in the world and she came up with a potion that allows for Stør’s meal's nutrients/size to be proportional to Stør, ensuring he can eat without it becoming too costly.
