BUT fans would love her sm, anything she posts, people would praise her automatically. like anything she does, people are head over heels (like me). would also get into a few dating scandals … not too serious though. would prob be a quiet idol around people she doesn’t know. but once she’s with people she likes, she starts being loud and starts being more comfortable. would def be everywhere — magazines, billboards .. JUST anything visible to the public eye. yes, that’s how iconic xin will be.

so in my opinion the best way to get into the boyz is by watching their variety content! usually when i start out these guides i send people clips of their rtk performances but since you've already watched them i can just skip straight to the variety content <3 if you wanted another guide for like . song recommendations from their discography i can do that too! just say the word hehe <3 personally i started liking them because of their variety content and their endless out of context vlive clips LMAO but here's my starter pack:

for a brief overview of tbz: introduction to the boyz

it actually IS brief okay it's just 40 minutes because there's 11 members to get through 😭 it's from 2021 so it's a little old but i'd say it provides a really good basis for future the boyz exploration! you can get a pretty good feel of each of the 11 members and their little quirks from this video, and it's a good mixture of it being a serious introduction (showing them being good at their job) and unserious (showing them being literally just some guys)

optional viewing: the boyz flower snack

flower snack was like their predebut show where they were officially introduced to the world! they're like super young here and while i wouldn't consider this essential media (esp since they've grown so much since then) i do think it's a good pick-me-up because of how feelgood the show is :") it's definitely cringy at parts and you can tell they still have that trainee air to them, but personality-wise i don't think a lot has changed since then till now :"") they're still a bunch of dorks and some jokes are still mentioned now and then (eric doing watermelon cpr)

the two links below are less of a beginner guide and moreso for when you want to dive deeper into each member's personalities and their inner thoughts! personally i would watch the fun variety stuff first and get a feel for each member before getting into the interviews, but you could also watch the photoshoot portions and then watch the variety stuff and then go back to the interviews for more context. any way is fine, it's up to you! - generation z

the guide from above uses the gen z clips for each member but so the photoshoot portion isn't anything new but! i think the full gen z playlist is really worth watching :3 because of the interview format it allows a glimpse of insight into each member, and honestly it was one of my very first tbz media where i started to really Get them ykwim...... the way they answer each question is so specific to themselves and the topics for each interview is very individualized, so even if you don't have the urge to dissect their brain like i do it's still a very interesting (and visually pleasing) watch! and also ..... the iconic juyeon yellow lambourghini clip is from here. for your own viewing pleasure.

speaking of viewing pleasure. this is very reminiscent of the gen z photoshoots but instead of doing video format interviews they decided to do it through written form instead! here is the thread for all the translations, but a few are missing bc their accounts got deleted :( for the members that got deleted, i found hyunjae's, but i can't find jacob's anywhere :( but basically the entire format of the interviews were that the members would write the interview questions for themselves, and then they'd answer them. i think because of this a lot of them have spoken about how much they liked this interview, because it let them reflect on themselves a lot! they were also a lot more comfortable with this interview compared to gen z because gen z was like ,,, their first time every doing something like this, but with byok the combination of having experience and writing their own questions let them be a lot more relaxed in the process ^^

weekly idol eps to watch: stealer era | thrill ride era

the stealer era episode is just soooo ... JWJSADJFL like they start airing out their dirt on national tv (younghoon and sunwoo get the brunt of it) and for a bonus johnny and haechan from nct are special mcs in this ep! the thrill ride era episode is so cute lolll it shows the individual traits of each member so well... like eric is there being a social butterfly and golden retriever right from the start and then juyeon is just being thrown boyfriend material scripts so he can act them out with hyunjae LMAO it's just a total mess but it's very... them. they have a few other weekly idol eps from other eras so you can definitely check them out too, but personally the stealer and thrill ride eras are my favorites to watch and rewatch ^^

dive studio podcasts: kevin | jacob | eric | english line

this is just a lot of fun to watch! they're definitely a lot less serious than the gen z and byok interviews, but they're still a good insight into how the english members came to become a part of tbz! a lot of fandom jokes come from here (mostly about how eric is friends with his friend's dad, jeff) but overall it's just a good time! they are Just some guys /pos.........

there's another original come on the boyz series but i ... haven't watched it yet so 😭 i can't recommend it in good faith BUT the ones on here are stuff i Have watched and they're all very very cute :") tbz are like 1thek's sons HAHA so they have a lot of 1thek variety content but each one obviously has a different concept to it! they're sorta all in the name but personally my favorite is godsaeng :"") maybe cause it was the most recently filmed (and even though eric was still on hiatus during this time :( ) but it's just soooo fun and all the members are so goofy and lame and it just feels like you're watching a bunch of friends go on a 3d2n road trip together 🥹 the members' personalities really come out in all the installments and the editing is just so funny from the 1thek staff LMAO its just a lot of fun <3

honestly my best advice is to watch those edit/compilation videos that fans make on youtube! they're such a good way to get the best highlights from the vlives without wasting your time with like. 1-2 hour long lives HAHA my recommendations for channels to browse through are jellykims, txtbz, and jichangminluvr! you can probably rabbithole through the yt algorithm from there HAHA you'll have lots of fun i promise <3

With a wide grin, you read his message:

Juyeon had to hide a smile once he got your answer and quickly texted you back, putting the phone screen down on the table again.

But you had other plans:

No, no, don’t worry. Take your time.

Your rushed around the room, gathering a simple pair of pants and a shirt, as well as socks, before making your way to the hallway, putting everything on on the way. Before you reached for your jacket and bag, you called an Uber that was thankfully only two minutes away from you.

You quickly got downstairs, found the driver, got in, have him the address, and off you were. After twenty minutes, you arrived at the building, payed the driver, and got out hastily, making sure not to forget anything in the car. On the entire way, you had kept up with Juyeon’s live, making sure that he was still in the studio that you were more than familiar with.

At the entrance of the building, you made sure to show the visitor's tag Juyeon has given you, so you could visit him at any time you'd like. You got to the elevator and started shaking your legs, excited for surprising him.

As a warning, you sent him a picture of the hallway you had reached after the elevator stopped and you got out. You hoped this would make him turn off the Live, but you didn't check. Instead, you just made your way forward, stopping the door you thought he would be behind and knocked on it, waiting for him to come and open it. It only took a few seconds until you came to sight with the gorgeous face you had been waiting for.

He chuckled, "You actually-," but you were too impatient,

"Did you turn off the live?" Getting closer to him with one step. Juyeon nodded with a smile on his face. That was all you needed.

One last look to your left and right, and with another quick step, you were right in front of him. You threw your arms around his neck, pulling him down to harshly place your lips on yours. Your sudden action made him chuckle, placing his palms on your lower back to pull you in. The steps that he took backwards, to get both of you into the room, you took forward, closing the door behind you, without breaking the kiss.

Not even waiting for much more, you shrugged off the jacket and threw it onto a chair next to you.

Juyeon broke the kiss to look down at you, "That needy?" The wicked smile on his lips was nothing new to you. You raised your hand and slapped his shoulder jokingly, but he got a hold of your wrist before you could pull it back. Holding on tight to it, while his other hand was still on your back, he leaned down, "Be careful," he whispered before slamming his lips back onto yours, not leaving you any time to react or answer.

Before you knew it, your pants had come off, leaving you in underwear and t-shirt, on top of his lap while he was sitting in the spinning chair he had finished a live only minutes ago. Your panting was getting louder and more irregular as you tried to get some of the friction you needed by rubbing your pulsing core against his rough jeans.

Your boyfriend noticed it and let out a deep chuckle.

"I don't think my thigh will do," and kissed your jaw, "How about this?" And pushed his fingers inside of you, letting them get sucked it and coated by your wetness. You moaned out loud, hands grasping his shoulder, head thrown backwards.

this is my take on what kind of drinks the boyz would be sort of half serious / half joking :)

sangyeon: our sangyeon is the leader and oldest member of tbz. i don’t know if anyone remembers that iconic late night vlive where it started off with just hyunjae, changmin, juyeon , sunwoo and jacob and slowly the other members started to show up. but anyways someone asked “5-year old Sangyeon or 50-year old Sangyeon” and hyunjae was like there is no difference -_-. like he’d still call 5 year old sangyeon hyung. which makes me think of sangyeon as ginseng tonic  (im sorry sangyeon ily). its just something i feel only old people drink. 

jacob: jacob’s sweet like too sweet, but i feel like that idea of jacob is slowly changing with “the stealer” and “maverick” (these eras of jacob have a chokehold on me). what i am getting at is that he has a duality. jacob is like a shirley temple. in the sense that there are layers to the drink before you mix it, its visuals are amazing but then you mix it together and the alcohol is the secret to the drink. 

younghoon: what i find so cute about younghoon is his emotions. how he can’t hide them; when they got their first win (i believe) and sangyeon was filming him crying and he was so pouty ;-;. so for younghoon i give him milk. just normal plain white milk for the only reason of the saying “don’t cry over spilt milk”. 

hyunjae: oh hyunjae personally what drink i’d relate hyunjae to is tequila. you’re probably like mido explain why tequila. tequila is a drink you shouldn’t like but you do. you keep wanting to take shots knowing that you’re going to either 1. throw up or 2. pass out. he gives me like the boy you shouldn’t like but you do vibes. i blame his teasing nature ( i simp for hyunjae its not even funny) 

juyeon:  i’ll be honest juyeon is still kind of grey space to me, i don’t want to call him shy because something tells me that he isn’t. what makes me think that he’s not shy and actually slightly chaotic this past years halloween costume ( every photo of juyeon cracked me up). to me a chaotic drink is hot chocolate. always too hot (like juyeon ;) ). or if you don’t ratio it right and its too watery and not enough chocolate but for the most part its pretty good 

kevin:  kevin as bagged milk.  i give kevin bagged milk for his chaotic energy. it flows through him. him twerking during kingdoms field day and the rest of the members just being so so embarrassed, but he doesn’t care. he’s just doing him. bagged milk is like that too its just doing its own thing. 

chanhee: chanhee is always put together even when he’s in casual wear its still put together. i just love everything about chanhee, even his mannerisms compared to the other boys. that video of sunwoo absolutely devoring the chocolate bar then chanhee gently eats a piece from his hand after. so i want to give chanhee iced coffee. just a drink thats a classic and you can’t go wrong with it and the aesthetic around it just screams chanhee

changmin: q as lemonade. sweet and sour is exactly changmin. with thrill ride he perfectly fits the concept, with the smile and everything (he’s just so cool). the sour in changmin comes from when he gets a lil agressive. locking chanhee in a room with him to beat him up after betraying him. locking sunwoo and eric in a room so he could bite them. he has a nice balance of both sweet and sour. 

haknyeon: hak as lime slushies, lime slushies are underrated (like hak). they deserve so much more recognition / praise (like hak). i just want to ramble abt hak (sorry friends) but recently in one of the videos they did to promote maverick they were playing a game and he took out younghoon and eric in one swoop because they were distracted and then felt back and brought them back later on in the game. (he’s so cute)

sunwoo: sunwoo as mocha lattes. sunwoo gives me such a warm feeling, like a mocha he’s still in between like a teenager / adult stage in the same sense that a mocha is like a grownups hot chocolate. sunwoo is a mix of like confident and shy. when he’s rapping im not going to even sugarcoat it he’s hot but that video of him asking jacob how to say “i’ll think about it” in english is so cute. 

eric: our youngest eric! eric is very loud and energetic so for some reason i want to say he’s an energy drink but that’s too obvious so i’ll go with a milkshake. the amount of sugar in a milkshake will 100% send you into sugar rush. milkshakes are sweet (like eric) and still generally kid like (if that makes sense). eric is playful and still loves to mess around which makes him feel so much younger ( im making him sound likes he’s 87 he’s still so young ;-;)

currently consisting of 11 members (they used to be 12 members, but Hwall sadly departed from the group in October 2019 due to his ongoing ankle injury)

▸ Lee Sangyeon - leader, main vocalist

born on November 4, 1996 (a Scorpio and the oldest member of tbz)

(not your typical) leader - he’s not really “the dad”, but truly more of an older brother to the others

often teases and pranks the other members and is one of the funniest members according to their “Who’s Who” video (see: video recs)

writes own songs - super talented and dedicated, a really hard worker

has a beautiful deep, soul filled voice (we’d LOVE to hear more of it @cre.ker) - check out his performance on King of Masked Singer

according to Eric, he’s the member with the best body - really likes to work out and is stacked™

he really, really loves mangos

says he’s not cute but is obviously very wrong about that

has a super cute smile and adorable laugh

looked too beautiful with pink hair (deobi will never recover)

super bad at literally any game - always, ALWAYS loses when it comes to rock-paper-scissors (would be hilarious if it weren’t so sad)

▸ Jacob Bae - lead vocalist

born on May 30, 1997 (a Gemini, but he very rarely shows it)

his Korean name is Bae Joon Young

kinda the mom of the group, but his official title is the angel™ (he literally never gets angry, he doesn’t even curse! how does he do that even his older brother says they never fought while growing up)

is from Toronto and therefore ½ of Canadian and ⅓ of English line - so he’s obviously fluent in English!

really improved his dancing skills over the years and it shows (unofficial member of dance line, fight me cre.ker)

beautiful soft vocals, amazing high notes (see their Mirotic cover)

plays the guitar and composes/writes his own songs

an MC for Simply K-Pop together with Kevin

½ of the superior “MoonBae” ship (aka married to Kevin - they’re super cute together, truly just two halves of the same idiot)

used to play volleyball and basketball and is really good at both, has apparently been working out a lot recently (rip his stans)

some fun facts: his mbti is INFP-T, his family adopted a new dog and named him after him/gave him the nickname “Cobi” ("your family replaced you... with a canine” - Kevin Moon, 2020), has an older brother, is left-handed, used to be the biggest fan of cereal (literally stocked boxes of it inside his room)

▸ Kim Younghoon - vocalist, visual

born on August 8, 1997 (but the most untypical Leo ever - only shows he’s a Leo like, once a year)

tallest member and ⅓ of the so called “Bermuda line” (aka the visuals™)

an under appreciated vocalist - his performance on King of Masked Singer more than showed how amazing his voice actually is (LET HIM SING CRE.KER)

has a “cool/cold look” at first, but is actually the softest, shyest, most precious squish on this planet (and has super soft puppy eyes)

kinda bad at life - needs to be protected because he’s just so clumsy, pouts when he’s about to cry (me, immediately: *cries with him*)

sometimes just randomly zones out and dissociates for a bit

fell down the stairs and injured his collarbone (I TOLD YOU HE NEEDS TO BE PROTECTED) before their Europe Tour and the Reveal promotions and therefore didn’t participate in the choreography

loves loves loves LOVES dogs so much and (his family) has a poodle (we stan Bori in this household)

the softest™ when trying to speak English (I‘m not crying, I‘m just really allergic to his extreme cuteness)

was a model for the Seoul Fashion Week in 2017 (together with Juyeon)

some fun facts: his mbti is INFP-J (there are four (4) introverts in tbz and they all share the exact same mbti), has an older brother, appeared in I.O.I’s Whatta Man music video, was recently cast as the second lead for the drama Love Revolution (his first ever acting role! the world should look out for actor!Hoon), is a BTS fanboy (his bias is Taehyung/V)

▸ Lee Jaehyun (aka “Hyunjae”) - lead vocalist, lead dancer, visual

born on September 17, 1997 (a Virgo)

also one of the tall members and another third of the “Bermuda Line”

an amazing dancer and a great vocalist (had like, 98% of the lines in No Air, so he’s pretty much an undercover main vocal)

an allrounder

seems quiet and chill at first. DO NOT BE FOOLED!!!

he is: l o u d . a bit annoying but also very cute without trying (actually really dislikes doing aegyo). hear someone loud in the background (especially laughing)? yep. that’s him! you found him, congrats.

also very caring and soft, takes great care of the younger members (when he’s not behaving like one of the younger members himself, that is)

also nags them a lot though (at least according to Eric)

the biggest Iron Man fanboy (like, legit wrote a fan letter to Iron Man when he visited the Marvel studios in NYC he’s just so cute)

▸ Lee Juyeon - main dancer, vocalist

born on January 15, 1998 (a Capricorn)

the last third of the tall and “Bermuda line”

an amazing dancer - he trained very hard to be where he is now (went viral as “the bucket hat guy” from their Bad Guy dance practice with the 1MILLION dance studio)

has a very soft, beautiful voice needs more lines

has very sharp features and beautiful eyes - his personality is very different from his cold looks though, he’s actually very soft, caring and thoughtful

he’s very gullible and innocent (also needs to be protected), therefore often the victim of jokes - most people think he’s a bit dumb thanks to that, but he’s really not: he likes to read, watches a lot of documentaries, and is just more on the quiet side in general, he likes to think before he speaks (unlike Hyunjae for example, no shade)

also very clumsy (never leave him and Younghoon alone together, please)

booked and busy! had like, a trillion photo shoots just this year, and was also a model for the Seoul Fashion Week 2017 

very bad at taking selfies but he tries and we love him nevertheless

a bit of a drama queen but he’s so cute it’s okay

amazing vocal skills, does most of the ad-libs

is a math genius, can calculate extremely big numbers inside his head and FASTER THAN AN ACTUAL CALCULATOR (this is SORCERY)

one of the best dancers in the industry (everyone can fight me on this) - went viral for his improvised dance to the Mario music

an AMAZING dancer! is really good at freestyling

very loud, randomly bursts into songs all the time even sings when sneezing

just generally really, really sweet and nice

before debut, he participated in the second season of mnet’s Produce 101 (was eliminated in Ep. 11 and ranked #19) - The Boyz were actually often referred to as “Juhaknyeon’s group” before/shortly after their debut

tbz’ unofficial stuntman (as seen during Road to Kingdom), even though he’s actually really scared of heights

on the other end of the “lip spectrum” - because unlike Kevin, Sunwoo has a lot of them (lemme just *smooch*)

his Korean name is Son Young Jae 

he was born in South Korea, but grew up in Los Angeles and is therefore fluent in English (⅓ of English line)

a great dancer (knows soooo many choreographies, it’s insane)

an amazing rapper (deserves more lines!)

hyper 24/7 watching him makes me tired, where does he get all that energy from

talks fast and a lot. never shuts up. you can’t make him. he tries to tell you one (1) story, but ends up telling 10 different ones along the way.

really good a baseball and loves to watch games

super close to Juyeon and used to go to Ju’s place during holidays as his own family lives in the US (my JuRic heart)

had to sit out during D.D.D promotions and decided to leave The Boyz in 2019 (he’s still in the music video though!)

in August 2020, it was announced that he left Cre.ker Entertainment and established his own label called Dia Note

the same month, he debuted as Hyunjun Hur with the song Baragi
