People please no. That shitty studio must not put their hands in this. They've ruined enough Sasusaku for years. What the Honda guy said after his distorted Gaiden version? Yeah, the "We had a date that lasted 2 minutes and maybe he do not remember", "we do not communicate", "I'm a bad mother", "shinobi rules girl, do not show emotions" and quitting ALL the Sakura and Sasuke ROMANTIC side... " Oh it's my interpretation and I don't like them. Please, it's my interpretation." Do you all think this SP guys will ever change? Do you know why the Naruto fandom is as dumb as it is about SASUSAKU? It's because the anime studio that for years has DOWNPLAYED, CUT OFF, BRAINWASHED the anime viewers. So asking an anime version of this NOVEL to these guys is like requesting this to one of the worst sasusaku haters.

SSM 2022 Day 02
Prompt: Community
Summary: Uchiha Sasuke will learn how his people adore the wife that has been gifted to him – Uchiha Sakura. (Warring States era!AU)
Rated: K
A/N: a little late sorry! i hope you'll enjoy reading this.
It was almost two months after an extravagant wedding was held in the Uchiha compound, the celebration lasted for a week, 5 days of preparation and gatherings were held in the streets of their home. It was his mother's idea of course, he had refused many times but one look at her face his mask of indifference crumbled. These festivities in honor of their clan leader's union weren't necessary at all. Why would they celebrate a union without love in the first place? The woman was gifted to him for truce and for peace.
They have gifted the princess of their small town to him because they are endangered on becoming wiped out if the Uchiha and Senju hadn't had any plans on halting their war. After all, the Haruno Clan is unfortunately residing in the middle of the Uchiha and Senju territories. In exchange for his family's protection of their little town, they gave him their princess to take care of him. Like he needed some caring, he can take care of himself alone.
He has never given his time on knowing anything from the Haruno clan, he didn't even spare a glance to the woman when they wed, his mind is preoccupied with countless of battle tactics and how he can run their clan. Now that his father is dead and his traitor of a brother is nowhere to be seen, the burden of handling something he was unprepared for weighed on his shoulders greatly. His own clan elders have never seen him fit to the position since his brother is basically a prodigy, why would they even bother to look at someone who was made so that if things didn't go as planned with his brother, they will have a second option.
Though, no matter how many unfortunate events were thrown at him, his brother - Itachi, was always there for him, and supported him greatly. He admits how he had been a very good big brother to him, before his traitorous acts that is.
Now, he's the clan leader of the fabled Uchiha clan, and he has a wife he never knew, and has no plans in getting to know. It seems like fate has been good to the youngest of the main branch of their clan. As long as his mother is supporting him and there for him, he could not ask for more.
Everything had been good until recently he had gotten home on the brink of death, his lifeline was barely hanging on a thin thread he was sure the grim reaper was waiting for him at his door. He didn't know what had transpired when he had fallen unconscious for a week and a half.
He also couldn't remember how he got home, his loyal soldiers may be the reason behind how.
When he awoke and the sound of startled gasp of a maid echoed in his chamber - him and his wife's room - he doesn't know how he was sleeping in the same room with the woman he's married with and he still does not know anything about her, except for her surname and ridiculous color of hair. They'd pass in greeting when they were in the same vicinity, or she would greet him, Sasuke on the other hand is too preoccupied to notice. They have fallen in this kind of shared silence, it is welcomed, and he knows she doesn't have any plans on knowing him too. Their feelings are mutual in that case.
So when the sight of her small face obscured his vision, he nearly let out a gasp of disbelief, which will be uncharacteristic of him that's why he silently thanked Kami for not letting him slip the stoic and aloof mask he's perfected.
Wide jade eyes are staring at him, he saw her face change from concern to relief when she checked for his temperature. Her hand glows in a color of sea-foam green as they hover on his chest, he stiffened and his sharingan came to life to threaten her to stop whatever she's doing to him. But to his amazement - he'd never admit this out loud - she just scowled at him and continued her work. After a moment he felt a warm chakra invade his insides, it wasn't probing or invading, it was a welcomed feeling. He is confused, he never knew that the princess of the little unknown town could do this. She's a healer, a great feat to have in his clan since they never have one, and never bothered by learning it. They would let themselves die than admit that they needed saving.
When she is done, she retracts her hands from him and an uncomfortable feeling of disappointment blooms inside his chest. He quickly squashed that thought out of his mind but the image of her jade eyes danced in the forefront of his mind. What was wrong with him?
"Sakura-sama, here is the pail of water you asked for me to fetch" one of his family's maids interrupted his thoughts. Sakura, huh. His mind repeated her name again and again, making sure that he'll get used to it. He never knew anything about her yet looking at her he could tell how she knew everything about him. There is a crease of worry between her brows that he would never understand why.
Because you never gave yourself a chance to get to know her.
The rest of the day he watched her do her chore as his wife, she guided him to his home's engawa and sat with him, offering her silent but welcoming presence. She have poured him tea and would go back to her reading beside him. There was a respectful space between them yet he could still feel the warmth radiating from Sakura.
His wife.
Somehow, learning her name and talents this day makes pride slowly surge in his veins.
--
Since he's still recovering from the grave assault he sustained from his last battle. Sasuke opted to walk around the Uchiha compound, he had planned to take his wife with him but upon knowing that his wife already has a plan for the day, he is clearly surprised by it. He thought that she will spend her days while being his wife inside their home, since she originally wasn't from here and basically she is an outsider when it comes to blood.
Knowing how Sakura probably made some bonds in his clan, makes him sigh with relief. He's glad that he needn't to worry about her getting mistreated because of discrimination. He knew that they held festivities during their union but he also knew how prideful an Uchiha can be, a lingering thought of how they never even cared about her crossed his mind.
He rounded a corner and what greeted him made him halt in his tracks. There she is, his wife, smiling and laughing in her light green yukata while playing with a dozen of little Uchiha kids. She is in the middle of the street, just in front of the clinic. Pride swells yet again in his chest with the thought of her helping in the clinic, helping his clansmen.
Everyone around her appears to be entranced by her, adoration shines through their onyx eyes fixed on her smiling form. He on the other hand is battling his own dilemma on why he avoided her like the plague in the past. He always knows that it was for the best, he has a clan to lead, he has battles to fight, enemies to kill. Love was never in his mind, he had love enough and had hurt enough. Love will always end with betrayal. Itachi had already taught him that in a hard way.
But, huh? He was just watching her, why would he think about love? They got married in the middle of war, and it was for the sake of war, love never existed in this union.
She has never left your side, my son. His mother's sweet voice echoes in every crevice of his mind. The way her eyes lingers at you, I will always see my and Fugaku's younger selves.
Had he been blind? Does love exist whenever she will sit by his side? Oh, he certainly has been blind by it all, his mind was always clouded with strategies that he failed to see the beauty of having someone by his side.
This woman is a personification of spring in this war ridden world.
His heart stutters when his wife turns around from his view. She's holding a kid no more than 3 years old, his tufts of hair are as dark as midnight sky, he snuggles and clearly comfortable in Sakura's arms. His eyes fall on the uchiwa crests emblazoned on their clothings and his heart beats uncontrollably at the sight.
Maybe…
"Oh, Sasuke-kun!" she waves her free hand high at him, her face breaks in a breathtaking smile that leaves him unable to tear his gaze away from her.
Maybe, he would let love in his life one more time. Love that he hasn't known since his brother betrayed him and their clan.
Maybe, love can bloom in the middle of a war ridden world.
Maybe, he can let himself love.

Shikamaru and Sasuke would walk outside the Hyuuga estate, careful disinterest showing in their faces, despite the absolute rage they feel on the inside.
As clan heirs, they both know, that Hyuuga has different traditions, but that doesn't mean it's right.
So whenever they're excused to go, they would slip on tight-lipped smiles, and Sasuke would pull Shikamaru outside the door, hand gripped tight to not let the Nara accidentally punch the stoic face of Hiashi.
He doesn't really know how it started, his and Neji's relationship was one that started off rocky, with their annoyance at each other teetering over the edge every time they meet.
They can somehow just rile up each other, their previous calm and collected figures thrown haphazardly out the window. They leave teasing each other with how better their own dojutsu is over the other.
His annoyance doesn't taint the fact he knows that the screams of pain he hears while getting farther away the main house is not right.
He wills himself to pull Shikamaru farther, not trusting to stop in their steps in case that he himself barges into that house to stop Neji's pain.
He remembers the meetings his mother usually takes, leaving him with Shikamaru and Hinata on a room, the Hyuuga's cousin standing by the corner.
Fugaku was genin teammates with Hiashi and Yoshino, while Mikoto was with Kushina and Shikaku.
So, Shikamaru would mostly be dozing off in the corner, while Hinata would just..read or make flower crowns, that she once placed atop of his head.
He, in his annoying 5-year old body, would bother Neji, looking to bright white eyes with his bottomless onyx ones, glaring.
And..Neji would get defensive and narrow his white eyes, which would then startle the living shit out of him, his own surprise mirroring on pupil-less eyes.
"Stay away," he would say to him, but he never seemed to understand, staying with him while they grew up.
Sasuke, despite his soul screaming at him to come back, doesn't stop dragging Shikamaru to the gates, squeezing the tan hand in his in comfort.
They know, they all know not to intervene, or else Neji would have worse, and he doesn't really want to put the male in much more pain because of him.
Shikamaru seethes with rage, his right hand clenching and unclenching in anger. Sasuke stops by the sidewalk, letting go of their intertwined hands.
He extends his arm, Shikamaru's twitchy hands clasping on his arm covering, tan fingers twisting in the white fabric.
They slowly walk away towards the Uchiha complex, Shikamaru focusing on calming himself down.
"You know that we can't stop him, Shika, as much as we want to." he mumbles, brushing a strand of hair out of his face with his unoccupied hand.
Shikamaru grumbles, "I hate that even I tell my parents, they can't stop Uncle Hiashi."
It's a very known fact after all, you can't fight a clan's traditions, it's against their law, and it's showing disrespect.
Shikamaru knows, for a fact, a lot of things. He knows, after much observation and interrupted naps, that Naruto is (he's sure of it, but he'll find the truth, soon.) the son of the Yondaime and his wife. His uncle...and aunt.
He knows for a fact, that it's illogical, for Itachi Uchiha to massacre the whole clan just to prove his strength.
He seems to be not the only one who has this conclusion, based on his shared glances with Neji when they were sitting by Sasuke's bed side.
He knows, that Itachi loves his brother so much, to death, and did not kill his kin for absolutely no reason.
He knows, that the main family and branch system of the Hyuuga clan is absolutely vile, Neji's pain making him hurt physically, while he and Sasuke wait in the sidelines, helpless in his cries of help.
He knows that once he's a jounin, he'll do everything he can do, to help his friends, survive this nightmare.
He's laying on a patch of grass, underneath a canopy of leaves, watching the clouds pass by.
Neji stumbles up the hill, weak and clutching at his forehead, shivering.
Sasuke looks over from practicing his fire jutsu at the dock, running quickly to support Neji up the hill.
Shikamaru asked him why he bothered to come, that they wouldn't have minded if he was absent, and that he should've rested instead.
All he said was, "I didn't want to be alone."
Shikamaru rapped on the door repeatedly, before stepping away a bit, bowing. "Hiashi-san, would it be alright if I invite Neji to my house, my parents are hoping that he comes to dinner."
Hiashi would frown disapprovingly at him, before relenting, Neji's half smile greeting him when the Hyuuga walked out the door.
He's grateful, that his parents try.
Sees them checking up on Naruto and Sasuke, and by extension, Neji. They try their best to be there for them, the adults being there for their deceased parents, their deceased team mates.
"They would have done the same if they were the one alive." they told him with gentle smile, and a ruffle of hair.
Shikamaru finds out early, that Sasuke and Neji's dojutsu places a strain on their eyes, and chakra pathways, so he learns.
Despite being lazy, he learns medical ninjutsu, on his spare time. He barrels through clan jutsus and training, always making sure to leave space for learning it.
He learns, even if it's so troublesome, he learns.
The grateful smile he receives while green chakra covered hands are pressed to their temples are worth it.
Shikamaru would try to excuse Neji, especially when it's not his fault, just to lessen the pain.
It would never work though, so he just provides comfort after.
Neji, is always brought to the Uchiha compound when he's tired. He would walk through the cold streets towards Sasuke's empty, eerie house.
He would plop down beside Sasuke, leaning his head on his shoulder, while the Uchiha plays shogi against Shikamaru, his right arm across Neji's shoulders, blanketing him in warmth.
His breathing matches with theirs, their quiet murmuring lulling him to sleep.
Neji looks at Shikamaru, the two of them of them sporting frowns on their faces. Yoshino and Shikaku sit by the the table, pale in the face, gripping the table tight.
Shikamaru shared another alarmed glance before pursing his lips, undoubtedly going through multiple reasons why.
Why did Itachi murder the whole clan? Wait, Sasuke-
Shikamaru and Neji's heart stopped, before the two scramble to stand, leaving the table and out of the Nara compound, running with all their might with their small legs.
They pant, looking up to the various yellow tapes surrounding the once loud and lived in compound, splotches of blood smearing across the windows and floor, coppery tang of it making them scrunch their nose.
Shikamaru almost gags when two ANBU guards carry a cold, lifeless Mikoto out of the door, her hand limp on the side.
Neji fights the urge to cry, approaching Chouza, before Shikaku shows up behind them, hugging them both to his chest.
He holds them close, before settling Neji on his hip, and Shikamaru on his shoulders, smiling sadly at Chouza before body flickering to the hospital.
A pale, so so very pale, almost grey looking boy lay against white sheets, charcoal hair falling around his face, furrowed brows and shuffling on the bed.
They breathe out in relief seeing their friend alive, before hearing "He's trapped in a genjutsu."
Sasuke opens his eyes, gasping for breath, crying. He can't breathe, feeling blood all over his body and palms, blood choking him. He sobs, his Sharingan activating for a moment before slumping towards Shikaku's chest, the man letting the boy grieve.
Sasuke hears in the darkness, "We're here, always."
Neji places himself on Sasuke's back, glaring back at the whispers and prying eyes around him. Shikamaru flanks Sasuke's front, scowling at whoever tries to accuse bloody murder on his friend.
They sleep beside him, hoping to lessen his nightmares, and staying up with him when he wakes up crying.
"Sas, you know your brother is not like that right?"
"I know, I just don't understand why."
Shikamaru frowns at him, seeing the scars on his chest and upper arms. He glowers at him before clicking his tongue, muttering "Such a drag." under his breath, mouth turned down in worry.
"I had to protect the idiot. Got the Sharingan though."
They don't bother correcting him.
Neji stares at the cursed mark on Sasuke's shoulder, his thumb absentmindedly grazing across it.
What has Sasuke done to you? Why make him suffer?
Sasuke glares at Danzo, before Kakashi body flickers, pulling at the bandages.
Neji's suspicion was true, it was full of sharingan eyes, Shisui's Mangekyou in Danzo's eyesocket.
Sasuke stiffens, opening and closing his mouth before he staggers back ward, Mangekyou Sharingan spinning in his eyes.
He growls, "How dare you."
(Shikaku, and Yoshino are protective of the boys, along with Iruka and Kakashi. Tsume even threatened Hiashi if he intervenes with the children.
"I've already seen our friends die, I'm not letting you ruin the friendship we wanted for the kids."
Konoha 12 is very tight knit, very protective.)

World’s Worst Best Men: Itachi x Wife!Reader
A/n: I'm not writing a summary but I have a feeling you'll like this one. Not so much romance as usual, but it is fun and I’m proud of it.
Pairing: Itachi x Wife!Reader, Platonic Sasuke x Reader
Word Count: 1.7K
Here’s the dress I imagine wearing. Though, your imagination is key.

Uchiha weddings were nothing, if not extravagant and over the top, you should know, you have had one for yourself.
Standing beside your husband of three years, the prodigy, Itachi Uchiha, you couldn't have been happier. Sasuke was getting married and you and Itachi had the most triumphant grins on your faces, both beaming gleefully.
You and Itachi had been childhood bestfriends but didn't start dating dating until late teen years. So naturally Sasuke had been an important person in your life, an amazing boy whom you had watched grow up.
The wedding had been a blast, everyone enjoying themselves to the fullest. Asuma and Kurenai were dancing along with their son in a group with Kakashi and Gai. Kakashi drunk dancing was really a sight for sore eyes.
Genma was at the bar, really vibing with one of Sakura's distant aunts while Iruka was being paired up with one of Hinata's quiet aunts by Naruto.
Minato and Kushina were standing alongside Fugake and Mikoto drinking champagne and feeling proud.Smiles of genuine happiness were on each of their faces as they felt their life goals had been achieved.
Of course all the boys were dancing alongside the Jounins' group with Sasuke in between surrounded by a wild Naruto, drunk Kiba, flustered Lee and other friends of the like.
The girls were in their own group with the bride in between surrounded by perfectionist Ino, jovial Tenten, inebriated Temari, bewildered Hinata and likewise. Ino kept straightening the flowers in the newlywed girl's hair.
This was all you could ever ask for someone as important to you as Sasuke. You, someone who never cried, almost shed a tear when Sauske said his vows. The fact he found love in his life made you really grateful to God.
After all the guest tired themselves out by uncoordinated and off beat dancing, it was time for the best man's speech or in this case, best men.
Naruto and Itachi were the two best men as they both mean the world to Sasuke. His best friend and his elder brother.
With a champagne flute in hand, Naruto started, "Putting our rivalry aside for one day, I would go so far as to call you-, this is only a once in a lifetime privilege remember Teme," He referred to Sasuke getting off track his speech, "-my best friend. Who would have thought you would get married? Howbeit to a girl?"
Everybody laughed, silently agreeing with Naruto. The atmosphere of the wedding hall was bright, beautiful and cheery. The exuberant and buoyant gathering listened with real enthusiasm.
"I don't have anything against you marrying a guy, honestly because all of us expected you to, after you broke a lot of poor girls' hearts."
Sasuke seemed really shocked at this, even his mouth fell open with widened eyes while everyone once again silently agreed. Sasuke's shock told you that he actually had never heard about this rumor before.
God, he was a really oblivious kid.
"I know, Dobe," Naruto said referring to Sasuke's surprised expression, "I was that shocked too, when I came to know they shipped you with me nonetheless, because that was something even I wasn't aware of." Naruto and Sauke both made disgusted faces, as if on cue. The look of terror on Sasuke’s face might have led people to believe it was the most sinister thought ever.
But they did look cute together.
"But I guess they say, you aren't really best friends if they don't confuse you as homosexuals." Naruto let out a beaming grin while Sasuke gave a crooked smile. Everyone inwardly cooed at the pure expressions.
"However, there is one female I remember you crushing on, the only one in the entirety of our lives."
Sasuke had a look of horror on this face as he shook his head 'no' immediately, trying to get Naruto to shut up, specks of red in his eyes as he threatened to activate his 'Sharingan'.
"I remember you being all flustered and look at (Y/N) with heart eyes.”
Naruto's grin widened, showing his pearly whites, clearly content with Sasuke's reaction.
Your name caught you off-guard and you were in absolute shock. People turned around to give you a not-so-subtle glance but you didn’t care. You always thought Sasuke was a shy and quiet kid who liked to keep to himself. Mikoto let out a cheer while Fugaku smiled. Itachi let out a deep-throated chuckle from beside you which caused you to turn to him, “You knew about this?”
He silently nodded with a smile on his face and you carried on, “And never even mentioned it to me? Would it have killed you to do so?”
“It wasn’t any of my business. Also, it was pretty funny.”
You lightly hit his arm and retorted, “Oh God, I don’t even know who I got married to!”
A smile still broke out on your face as you turned to Naruto once again.
“I remember once Kiba and I were hanging out and we heard a really high pitched shriek from the forest. We ran all the way inside thinking someone was in danger but it turned out to be Sasuke squealing beacuse it was (Y/N)’s birthday and she gave him a kiss on the cheek for some gift he gave her. I swear our ears started bleeding. He was so red that we thought all the tomatoes he ate finally caught up to him.”
You blinked twice, your expression blank. Then a coy smile made its way to your face. You looked over to find Sasuke as red as a cherry, not even meeting your eyes. He was definitely praying to God that looks could kill, so that Naruto would drop dead.
“I remember that back in the academy, he never let any of us touch his hair because (Y/N) ruffled it while dropping him off. So he would sit through the lessons looking like he just woke up.”
All his classmates snickered at that, recalling the fond memory, while you were amused. It was so hilarious to see such a stoic person so flabberghasted.
“The most interesting incident that came out of all this was, and I’m totally risking my life by telling you all this. Sasuke would kill me if I even narrate it to anyone, rather announce it on the microphone at his wedding, but your best friend gets married only once. Well hopefully. If I turn up dead by the coming of dawn, it was Sasuke Uchiha everyone.”
Everyone laughed along once again while half of the people were on the edge of their seats thinking what it could possibly be. Sasuke had a puzzled expression on his face, anticipating and fearing what Naruto had up his sleeve.
“Anyways, one when we were high........ I mean drunk, he confessed of a secret love letter he wrote to (Y/N) as a tween but never sent it.”
Your eyes widened as you let out an audible gasp while the room buzzed with chortles and sniggers. Your brother-in-law crushing on you wasn’t necessary negative news but the whole event had overwhelmed you that you could not contemplate even your reaction.
Apparently, you were the only one to be surprised as all the other guests smiled knowingly and cackled. You glanced over to find Sasuke so scarlet that you wondered if the sharingan had spread to his face given that his kekkei genkai was active now.
Itachi chuckled again seeing your reaction and put an arm around your shoulder while gently squeezing. You turned to him and finaly let out a chuckle yourself, eyes still widened in disbelief.
“Am I dreaming?” you asked and shook your head.
“Seriously though, have I been that oblivious Itachi? How could I not notice this while everyone here recalls it as some keen memory?” You held your head with one hand, leaning furthermore into itachi. Your eyes flickered to see Sasuke’s eyes, boring apologetically into your own.
One look at his chiseled face told you of his anxiety and concern. The small frown on his face saddened your heart.
Does he think I hate him? Poor baby, NO!
You weren’t offened, flattered if anything. But the spontaneity of the situation rendered you speechless.
You gave him the best smile you could muster, wiggling your eyebrows at him and blowing him a kiss from your cherry lips, and grinning again.
He visibly relaxed, shoulders now less taut, jaw a bit slackened though his face remained painted in scarlet hues. Seeing him calm down, you winked at him and turned to Naruto again, anticipating his next words.
“My only regret tonight is that I couldn’t find that letter even inside his personal diary or his deep closet. I swear it was there the last time! No worries, hope you found this speech of mine, entertaining as it is. One last toast to Sasuke though, for his new life ahead. Cheers.”
Sasuke cooled down with each passing word, smirking triumphantly when he realised he won’t be shred of his remaining dignity anymore.
Everyone toasted together, drinking huge mouthfuls of their wines, rejoicing in Naruto’s words for Sasuke.
Itachi kissed your temple, and left you while moving to the centre of the stage, where Naruto was.
“If I may?” He asked as Naruto passed him the microphone.
“I’d like to say how proud of my baby brother to have come this far in life, as a great shinobi, an excellent son, a marvelous friend and a terific human overall.”
Everone clapped vigourously including you, while all his classmates hollered and hooted. A faint blush adorned Sasuke’s cheeks as he visibly pouted on being call ‘baby bro’.
“And I was about to give a half an hour long speech, but my wee brother’s best friend, Naruto just stole all my content. So much for the tales.” Itachi playfully sighed, all the specatators buzzed with laughter while Sasuke deadpanned.
Well, he wont forget his wedding day ever now. Everyone is dead set on embarrassing him.
“However, I do have something Naruto didn’t have.”
Everyone stilled, waiting with anticipation of what was about to come, including you. Itachi refused to rehearse his best man speech with you because he wanted to write a speech for Sasuke on his own, heartfelt and everything.
He reached inside his tuxedo’s jacket and took out an old cramped paper, yellowing a bit and you raised your eyebrows, questioningly.
Sasuke gulped.
“I have the love letter, everyone!”
Oh Wow.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------
A/N: If you reading this, atleast you made it till the end. Thank you.
So that was that. It was some scenario I just thought about. A bit of a cliffhanger, I haven’t thought about a follow up part 2, but we’ll see if that’s what you want.
Thanks for the love you gave me on my first post, we reached 200 if you count the separate posts I made by mistake. This inspires me to write. Remember, requests are OPEN so feel free to hit my asks page.

Neji Headcanons Collection
Tumblr media
Requested from my wattpad account
For everyone who has requested, I’m slowly getting through them, but I’ve been busy and exhausted lately so it’s taking longer than I wanted it to, I’m sorry!
What He Looks For In An S/O~
• Neji is a pretty stoic, introverted guy, so he’d need someone who was more on the introverted side as well. However, he would love an S/O who could bring him out of his shell a little
• He definitely seems like someone who would prefer to date a fellow shinobi so he didn’t have to worry about them and since they most likely aren’t apart of the Hyuga clan, them being a ninja would help his clan be a little more approving
• He needs a PATIENT S/O
• Neji is new to relationships and someone who understands that and wouldn’t rush him would be ideal
• Although Naruto changed Neji for the best, he can still be a little insensitive sometimes, so a partner who has a thick skin is important
• Neji hates small talk with a passion, so he would look for someone who could hold intellectual conversations or who didn’t mind silence
• As an introvert, Neji is something of a homebody, but make no mistake; this boy is always training so you’d best be ready for rigorous training being a regular past time
• COMMUNICATION is key in a relationship with him
• As smart as Neji is, he does not have the aptitude or patience to deal with mixed signals, so just talk to him, please
Relationship With Neji Stuff~
• Neji isn’t clingy by any means, but you’re his girlfriend and he expects to see you often, and will easily become concerned or upset if his partner starts to seem distant
• Trust is the most important thing to him, if he’s dating you he clearly trusts you A LOT, and it will upset him if he notices you don’t trust him as much
• Your relationship will most likely be lowkey, in public at least, but that’s not because he’s ashamed, he’s just an incredibly private person
• Although Neji will enjoy sparring with you, he will also be up to other ideas for dates
• He loves taking walks with you, whether it’s after dark, before average people are awake, or in the middle of the day
• He’s the kind of person to have a certain amount of time set aside for you, whether you spend it out and about, or inside, he won’t interrupt that time unless it’s unavoidable
• He’s very good at picking up your moods and such things, but he doesn’t always know what to do about them, so he’ll help you in ways he knows how tea and training
• He has a great memory. Whether it’s certain dates, the timing of your week, or little things he’s noticed about you; you can trust he won’t easily forget it
• PDA embarrasses him, but he will allow hand-holding and the occasional cheek kiss
• He takes so much pride in his hair, he won’t allow you to touch it until way later in your relationship, but once he does… he’d rather die than admit, so sometimes he’ll wordless put his head in your lap and scowl until you take the hint
• Neji doesn’t just date around, he’s looking for something serious, so if he realizes that you’re not what he’s looking for in a wife he will immediately (and respectfully) end it
How To Lose/Annoy Him~
• Generally, Neji is a very forgiving person since he’s needed to be forgiven many times, but there are some things he won’t tolerate; cheating, slander, and genuine disrespect
• An S/O being rude to someone for no reason would turn him off
• He really can’t stand gossipers and busybodies so if you want to lose him, go off I guess
• Laziness is a major thing for him. He can understand being tired of at your limit, but he really can’t handle his S/O just lazing around for a long time
• Immaturity is a big no-no. Neji comes from a clan who only recognizes maturity and formalities so he would be uncomfortable with an overly childish S/O
• Selfishness or being chronically inconsiderate can and will make him angry
• He won’t even entertain someone with bad hygiene like he really doesn’t understand how someone could be okay with not being clean?
• Incessant complaining and whining will grate on his nerves like anything else
• Not respecting his boundaries, even if you don’t understand them, will have him running for the hills before you could even say ‘Byakugan’
Soft Neji Things~
• Neji isn’t one for constant affection, but once he realizes how much he enjoys the lotus position (you sit in his lap, facing him, legs around his waist) it’ll be a regular occurrence. Whether he’s reading or just savoring your presence you’d better get used to it
• He loves to read and sometimes if you ask beg he’ll read to you and he has the smoothest most ASMR voice ever??
• He actually enjoys shopping with you because he loves helping you choose (and he likes to spoil you)
• I strongly believe that Neji plays an instrument (piano, flute or violin) and sometimes he’ll play for you
• If he’s had a really bad nightmare or his family is stressing him out, don’t be surprised if he climbs in your bed at a random hour of the night
• Locked doors or windows have never stopped this boy, so you’d best expect him to just walk in like he owns the place
• Considerate to the max, he’s always thinking about you and doing small things for you
• You actually bring out a new side to him, he’s more playful and free around you
Random Neji Facts~
• Neji made it into a game without your knowledge to see how many times he can scare you by just waltzing into your house
• He’s incredibly competitive, so the second you mention being the best at something, even in jest, prepare to have to prove it in competition
• His love language is in between quality time and acts of service
• He doesn’t really expect gifts or anything, so if you really want to see him light up, get him a little ‘I’m thinking about you’ gift
• Neji likes to journal, he likes to write down little things about his day, or ideas or even quotes that he heard and liked
• He really enjoys domestic activities because he didn’t really think he’d be able to find anyone to do that with
• He loves receiving and writing letters, it’s intimate and it’s special and he’ll keep everyone you send him
• Neji has a love/hate relationship with his hair; he’s very proud of it, but he hates all the extra work that goes into taking care of it
• He always carries extra scrunchies/rubberbands on missions in case his hair gets loose
• He gets sunburns so easily, he’ll always have sunscreen during the hottest months
Little Things~
Favorite:
• Place to kiss- Your wrist pulse point; it’s intimate and it feels so natural for him, especially when he’s holding your hand
• Way to hug- He loves to place a hand on the back of your head and one on your back; he loves the feeling of being so close to you
• Things to do with you- He loves doing small things with you; reading, drinking tea, or cuddling
• Cuddle position- When he’s not busy, he loves to lay back on the couch with you on top
• Type of date- Lowkey ones, maybe a stroll through the park, or going to a nice little cafe/restaurant
This or That-
• He enjoys spring the most, he loves seeing all the new life after a long winter
• He’s a hardcore morning person, he lives to be productive and the day won’t wait for him to ‘get in the mood’
• He’s a good cook, but as I’ve mentioned, his love language is acts of service so you cooking for him means a lot to him every time
• Loves to read, either on his own or with you and his favorite genres are classics and nonfiction
Conflict Happenings~
• He has a very sharp tongue, but he really hates arguing with you and will try to avoid that for as long as possible
• However, if something needs to be addressed, he will not hesitate
• Would prefer to have a calm, rational, debate, so if either of you loses your cool, don’t be surprised if he just up and leaves
• However, if you say something that crosses the line… God/Pein/Jashin/Kami have mercy on you, this boy will go off
• After the fight is over, he’ll need space to calm down, but once he is, apologies and makeups are quick and sincere
• He refuses to fight over small insignificant things, he finds it beneath him
• He will listen, though, because if something is bothering you, that’s valid to him
• Don’t push him or test his limits, it’ll make him uneasy and feel like he can’t trust you, which can lead to your relationship self destructing
• After fights, whether big or small, he needs some good ol’ fashioned cuddles (you both do honestly)
• He’s a firm believer in not going to bed angry, so even if you’re still upset, he’ll do everything in his power to get rid of his own irritation
• It’s hard to hurt his feelings, but if you do he’s cut deeply, so watch what you say
Modern Neji~
• OMG this boy is one of those people that are always smartly dressed and no one can change my mind
• He’s not a teacher’s pet, per se, but he’s very polite and is always doing his best
• He’s one of those gym obsessed people, but very lowkey about it
• I could definitely see him into fencing and/or martial arts
• He’s the kind of person to only hang out with his closest friends because he feels most comfortable with them
• Most people would know he was from the esteemed Hyuga family, but no one would really process it because he’s not overly flashy and doesn’t really mention it
• He’s still pretty antisocial but after Naruto pretty much shoved his way into his life he started to open up
• Has so many fangirls and is always being asked on dates but is so confused, like why do these strangers always follow him? And who are these gifts from??
• I can really see a turf war between Neji’s fangirls and Sasuke’s fangirls over who’s better
• He most likely majors in business and finance to inherit the Hyuga company or at least have a fundamental role in it
• I think he’d like a roommate, especially if he lives off-campus
• I could see him living with someone like him so he’s not constantly overwhelmed by someone with Naruto’s personality
• Neji is always the model student and I could see him tutoring a few people (begrudgingly, of course)
• He’s always doing his best, but it might not seem like it? Neji is very good at retaining information, so the only time you’ll catch him really studying is if he knows he has trouble in that area
• His living space is meticulously clean and probably kinda bare
• He doesn’t really feel the need to decorate because it’s temporary, but if his roommate wants to he won’t care
• Neji is not a partier, but if his friends drag him to one he might stay for a while
• He’s such a lightweight and he might find himself drunk quicker than he thought possible
• Doesn’t have much of a hangover besides waking up disoriented and dizzy
• I love Neji honestly

My wife
Sumary: Sasuke is everyone’s crush in the animal shelter he works at until they find out he’s married.
Characters: Sasuke Uchiha, Tamaki, Karin Uzumaki, Naruto Uzumaki, Sakura Uchiha.
Relationships: Sasuke Uchiha/Sakura Uchiha, Everyone/Sasuke Uchiha (Unrquited).
Warnings: Non canon bisexuality.
Notes: This fic was inspired by this tweet! Also I thought about Sasuke being the C.E.O of an important comany but then I thought... What is more heartbreaking, your cold unreachable boss being married? or your kind coworker who shares the same passions as you?
Uchiha-san is not the sort of man you imagine working for an animal shelter. Whit his brooding good looks, his whole tall, dark and handsome persona, he looks more like the C.E.O of multinational business than the kind vet who helps little animals to find new homes and loving families.
For what Tamaki has heard from his grandma, Uchiha-san is indeed the heir of an international company. His father and grandfather are still active on it but his brother is actually the acting C.E.O of Uchiha Inc, now.
The fact that Uchiha-san choose to defy his own family in order to pursue a profession that wouldn’t give him even a third of the money he could’ve easily make as part of the company that belonged to him by right, warms her soul and make her heart leap in ways that she hadn’t felt in a long time.
She’s not the only one, though. He is really handsome after all, and Tamaki’s sure that he’s part of the reason that theirs is the animal shelter with one of the highest adoption rates in the whole city and also one of the shelters with the highest number of volunteers.
“Sasuke-kun is just so handsome.” Sighs Karin, one of their latest volunteers this year, as she sees Uchiha-san feed their biggest dogs, his face stoic as ever but soft at the edges. A well-rounded man, thinks Tamaki, kind and mature.
“He’s not just handsome!” She berates the woman, after all, Karin is one of the many girls and boys who came to adopt a cat or something and stayed for the chance of keeping the elusive Uchiha Sasuke for themselves.
Up until now, no one has had the luck, Uchiha-san is not a recluse by any means, he would accept outings and invitations to go for a drink between collages but no one has been able to land a single date ever since he first started working for her grandma’s animal shelter.
Tamaki has been the only one who hadn’t asked, too shy and insecure to even think about the possibility of approaching him with romantic intentions.
But sometimes, late at night, when she’s left alone on her bed looking at her roof in contemplation, she allows herself to think that maybe, just maybe. These four years of working side to side sharing their passion for animals have united them far beyond the professional side of their relationship.
That maybe, he’s been refusing every single invitation and filtration because he’s in love with her.
What would he say if she dared to invite him out to dinner? Would he refuse her even after all these years of unspoken confidence and companionship? Would he treat her like he treats all the girls and boys that can’t seem to see him as more than a rich attractive man?
In the depts of her heart, she suspects that he would not. Late at night, when she dares to hope, she dreams that she’s the woman who would finally keep the heart of the ever kind, Uchiha-san that only she knows.
“I know that!” Complains Karin, holding the little kitten she was feeding close to her chest, “You’re not the only one who sees Sasuke-kun for who he is. You know?” Then, as if she could read her mind, the redhead smirks, “You’re not special.”
Tamaki is about to answer her when Uchiha-san appeared behind them, a little runt puppy on his hands “Are you ready for the meting?” he asks, his voice firm but soft, he doesn’t smile, but there’s no animosity on his expression. “We need to agree in the founding’s for this month and we also, need to plan for future adoption campaigns,” explains the vet.
“Yes!” Exclaims Tamaki, suddenly shy all over again in the presence of the man she likes. “Just wait a minute while I go and bring grandma to the meeting room, please.”
She doesn’t allow Uchiha-san to answer her before she bolts out of the feeding area, leaving Uchiha-san with Karin.
****************
Karin would never say she feels lonely, already on the verge of thirty and as painfully single as she was three years ago when her last girlfriend broke up with her because she didn’t want to date a girl who insisted in being bisexual, as if she could change the way she was born and the way she loved.
Karin is no longer upset about this like she was the first few months in her newfound singlehood, but she would be lying if she said the she came out of this relationship with the same level of trust on her loved ones that she had before the breakup.
Maybe not everyone will be as open minded about her, and maybe she shouldn’t believe that everyone she loves will love her in return unconditionally.
But a kitten will.
That is what she thinks when she enters the closest animal shelter she can find near her apartment, that a kitten will never leave her and will only remain loyal to her as long as she remembers to pet them and feed them.
The first person to greet her is Sasuke-kun. He smiles awkwardly and maintains the safest of distances with her when he asks her about what she’s looking in a future pet. Karin can appreciate this, most men these days wouldn’t even think about giving her the space she needs when talking to a complete stranger.
The first thought that she has about him is not about his beautiful face or the way he towers over her, but the fact that he’s the most considerate man she’s met in a long time.
The days after, even when she sits with her little Hime-chan purring on her legs as she binge-watches the first chapters of The Untamed, she can’t stop thinking about Sasuke-kun.
She can’t stop thinking about his deep dark eyes, about the expanse of his torso or the way his big hands held the little kittens with so much care the poor babies wouldn’t stop purring.
She would purr too, if Sasuke-kun deemed her worthy enough to touch with that much care, she’s sure of it.
Just a few weeks pass before she decides to volunteer to work in the shelter, and even thought she’s not the only one.
Karin is sure she will be the last.
****************
“What can we do about the oldest animals?” Asks Naruto, talking directly to Sasuke and ignoring everyone else as he usually does, his bright blue eyes, searching for Sasuke’s owns dark ones.
“There’s nothing we can do,” grumbles Kiba, maybe the only volunteer in the whole shelter who isn’t awfully infatuated with Uchiha Sasuke, “if the public doesn’t want to adopt the older pets, we sure as hell can’t force them.”
Sasuke frowns at this “Surely there must be something we could…” he tries to argue before his cellphone starts ringing. The huawei, sakura drop tone melody filling the entire room.
Usually, Sasuke would never answer his phone in the middle of a meeting, but he never cancels a call when it comes with that particular ringtone.
“Would you excuse me for a minute?” He asks to the room in general, “I really need to take this call.”
When the whole room allows him to answer, he quickly presses the phone to his ear, “Sakura?” he asks to the person at the other end of the call, “Is there something wrong?”
His coworkers watch immersed on his conversation as a deep frown marries his face, two perfectly sculpted set of brows drawn together in worry as he hears what this Sakura answers him, “I understand,” he sighs. “Don’t worry, dear, I’ll come and get her.”
Karin gasps when she hears the word dear, Naruto frowns and Tamaki, whimpers from the back of her throat, but no one is prepared for Sasuke to smile just a little as he ends the call with a clear and warm “I love you.”
“I’m sorry,” he tells them eventually, “I have to go. My daughter’s daycare center just called because she has a fever and my wife is in the middle of surgery.” He sounds apologetic for having to leave them, but he doesn’t sound responsible for the breaking of their collective hearts.
Maybe they were wrong, maybe Sasuke Uchiha was really just a cruel man.
*****************
They eventually meet Sakura Uchiha when she comes over to the shelter with five sets of little assorted bento boxes filled to the brim with beautiful wagashi sweets molded to look like sakura flowers in gratitude for them.
“Hi” she smiles, her whole face luminous and clear, making her look like an idol. “I’m Sakura Uchiha and I just wanted to thank you for taking care of my husband.”
They couldn’t deny her even if they wanted. Sakura, with her pink hair and big, green eyes, was just as beautiful and kind looking as her husband.
One look at her and they instantly understood the type of woman who was enough to steal the heart of the ever elusive Sasuke Uchiha. The type of woman who could call him husband everyday and be called wife in return.
They made a beautiful pair, they had to admit. It was as if the belonged together.

The Job Offer [part 2]
General Disclaimer
Rating: PG 13
Author’s Note: I was planning to do all random one-shots that weren’t connected to anything. But this was the only thing I could think of writing when I saw the prompt was “medicine”. So...here’s the next part of that mafia fic I started like two years ago. If you want to read the first part, you can find it here.
⁂ ⁂ ⁂ ⁂ ⁂ ⁂ ⁂
“So, I hear you’re refusing your medication unless I give it to you,” Sakura says as she enters the private room without preamble, two IV bags in hand. “Care to share why? And it better not be some macho, stoic bullshit.”
She should probably be a little more polite, but she’s way beyond sleep deprived at this point.
Uchiha Sasuke is propped up in his bed, glaring at her. His chest is a swath of thick bandages, turning what she has learned is a stunning physic into a comically shapeless square. They are incongruent with the vibrant colours of sleeve tattoos that depict snakes winding up either arm against a black background with red clouds. She knows there’s something on his back, too, but she was a little too preoccupied with his life-saving surgery at the time to identify it; some kind of bird.
“Your people are refusing to allow my men in here. I can’t be sure I’m not being poisoned.”
“After the show they put on in the emergency room, they’re lucky they’re even allowed in the waiting room,” she grumbles and begins to set the bags into the apparatus. “Why do you trust me not to poison you? I mean, you’ve been a bit of a pain since I met you, so you’d totally deserve it…”
She chances a glance over at her patient, who hasn’t taken his eyes off her since she walked in. She has a brief moment of being lost in endless black, and then he turns away with a noncommittal noise.
“You’ve already proven you have principles. Since a dozen Uchiha-gumi couldn’t make you waver, I doubt anything else could.”
He goes quiet, staring at the wall with a slight frown in his forehead, and long bangs framing his face rather fetchingly despite the fact he probably hasn’t had a chance to wash his hair in three days.
He is really, unfairly and ridiculously pretty.
Sakura swallows at that thought, hastily grabbing for his chart so he doesn’t catch her looking.
No! None of that! Bad idea! That is the worst idea. Just look at his arms, they tell you exactly why this is a bad idea!
“What are you giving me, anyhow?” he asks. “I don’t allow just anything in my body.”
“I’m trying not to find that ironic,” Sakura quips. “Anyhow, these are your next round of antibiotics and painkillers—and no, it’s not morphine, you already made it clear to my interns what you thought about that.”
“As I said.”
“Yeah, well, you could have been a little nicer about it. I think Dr. Ise is about to go to the administration and tender his resignation because of you. And they’re in enough of a tizzy already, they’d accept it.”
Uchiha watches her face, and something flashes in his gaze.
“You haven’t had any issues, have you?” he asks, frowning. “With regards to your employment?”
Sakura’s cheeks flame. “You mean since your boys were trying to intimidate Senju-sensei and the rest of the Board of Directors?”
“It would be remiss of them to suspend your privileges considering the situation.”
“Do you know how much of a problem their interference could be for me?!”
“Was it effective?”
“In this case…yes,” she admits grudgingly. He smirks at that, like he predicted this, and she clenches her fists. “But the Board’s going to make my life hell in other ways from now on! Constant reviews and check ins and…” She sighs, reigning in her temper. “Look, it’s not that I don’t appreciate it, but you’re making my life more complicated—”
“Complicated enough to leave?” he suggests, and there’s something too blank about his face just then.
Suspicion rears its head, along with a memory of the night they met.
“So what? Just come work for me.”
“I’m not quitting my job. I have responsibilities—"
“Take a sabbatical,” he suggests. “I’ve heard that’s common among the medical profession, either due to burnout or the desire to research areas of interest.”
“Not to go work for the mob!”
He doesn’t appear to hear her. “You doctors engage in research, right? Life-saving practices, new methods?”
“…Yes?”
“And that requires funding, if I understand it. Which is difficult to come by, considering you don’t exactly get paid much…”
Sakura narrows her eyes. “Are you trying to bribe me?”
“I consider it more of an investment.”
“No offense, but even if I were at the point in my career where I was trying to get funding for something, I’d rather not have the money attached to my name and methods be dirty. Especially not if I want to be taken seriously.”
“We maintain entirely legal businesses,” he dismisses. “My branch of the family has a thriving private security business, which has been very lucrative so far. Any funding you receive through us would be through legal channels and with clean funds.”
Sakura blinks, not entirely sure she’s understanding what she’s hearing.
“Why are you trying so hard to recruit me?”
“You have a good image.”
“Excuse me?”
“Not like that,” he rolls his eyes. Then as if in opposition to what he just said, his gazes flicks up and down in a way that has her blushing and torn between wanting to cover up in a blanket or shrug out of her scrubs in front of him.
Oh. My. God. What the hell is wrong with me?
“You are small and unassuming,” he continues. “No one would know to look at you that you’re anything more than that. And in addition to being able to fight, you have medical skills and respect discretion. In my experience, that is hard to come by without a lot of money being thrown around. And money doesn’t buy loyalty. You already have principles, so money wouldn’t be necessary. You’re a warrior and a healer. That’s valuable.”
“I…”
What the hell do I say to that?
“As it happens, I’m looking for another member of my security team. Suigetsu’s wife is having a baby soon, and she’s demanding. I don’t see him being able to maintain his commitments to my schedule for the next little while. You have no family connections or commitments to speak of, nor any time-consuming romantic relationships most women your age do.”
“How the— how do you know that?! Are you— did you have someone look into me?”
She’s entirely thrown off balance by this.
“My brother is very thorough. He and my parents wished to make sure of your credentials.” There aren’t many yakuza that the general populace are able to name off the top of their head, but Uchiha Itachi is one of them. If any of the stories about him are true… “You will likely meet him when I’m permitted to leave here.”
Sakura is only just able to hold back the choke of fear, but her patient notices, nonetheless.
“There’s no need for you to worry about him,” he says, bored. “He already likes you, from what Suigetsu told him. Something amuses him about the fact you can—what’s the expression? ‘Get me to take my medicine’? Anyhow, he’ll have a formal offer of employment drawn up for you.”
He is looking at her with a superior look, as if to say, this hospital may be your kingdom, but I have my own domain.
That confidence is simultaneously terrifying and sexy in a way it shouldn’t be.
“You may have time to consider the proposition,” he tells her, indicating the door; a clear dismissal.
Sakura bristles a little at that, irritated. “And if I still decline?”
He shrugs. “Then you decline. I’m not about to have your fingers cut off because you’ve done something I don’t like.” His eyes rest on her hands, then flick up to her with something indecipherable in them. “That would be a waste.”
And then he smiles.
Sakura feels a surge of want slam into her and oh, whether she takes the job or not, this is not going to turn out well for her, is it?

Well would you look at that...i am alive after all. Sorry for the long wait and for lowkey being like...a month late. I got home a few days ago but i wasn’t in the mood to write all that much and tbh this prompt didn’t inspire me all that much but i didn’t want to skip a day so yea...i will be posting everything (hopefully)
Anyway! I hope everyone had an amazing SH 2019 Month!!! And again sorry for the delay...Enjoy, Love Dia~~~
Clans - Part 1
Hinata
They say that tragedy is for royalty and that comedy is for the common people. They say that the “common folks” can’t grasp the depth of the anguish that all these tragic plays show. If you ask me that’s a pretty bad deal for us royalties, especially when we are young. The kids belonging to the bourgeoisie’s class sit down on dirt, watch and laugh as actors trip and tell jokes, while I was forced from a young age into stiff dresses, I was thought t only sit on half a chair with my spine so straight that it feels like it will snap in two and watch as the actors cry and kill each other, as they lie and their lives fall apart. I know that this is a whiny complaint, one that hardly matters, but as I'm looking out the carriage onto the street and see a kid’s theater, I can’t help but be envious, even now at almost 19 years old I want to sit between the small children and laugh with them as one of the actors falls and rips his pants.
“Hinata” Neji’s voice was stern and he was looking at me with a pleading face. He wanted me to cut it out, to stop looking longing towards something that is less than proper. I know he means well; God only knows what would have happened had father seen me, or even worse, grandfather. Closing my eyes, I try to conjure up a memory of grandfather which wasn’t unpleasant, but nothing came to mind. The older man inspired only fear and fury in me, and I hated how I could never look him in the eye anymore, scared of what I'll see when his ice-cold gaze was fixed on me.
We were on the way to a family whose name I couldn’t remember, to do and discuss something I didn’t care about. I wish father had went alone, but he snapped at me when I proposed that, he argued that we must appear as a united and loving family. At least he was honest and didn’t lie saying he wanted out company on this long journey. Hanabi was next to me trying her headrest not to fall asleep since that would be un-lady-like. I closed my eyes and mourned her innocence. If father and grandfather stole my childhood, they murdered Hanabi’s in cold blood. One summer day my little sister was running around the Clan House in her small toddler bare feet and the next her eyes were cold and unwelcoming. I do not know what had happened in those hours, Hanabi never shared but it was such a brutal change.
I look at my older cousin and try to picture him as a care-free child. When we were finally allowed to spend time together Neji was already calloused I wasn’t given the opportunity to know him before they broke his spirit.
“We are almost there” my grandfather said in a low voice right before we came to a stop, I saw Neji look towards him and nod but I did not acknowledge him. I look out the window and see that we are no longer in the village, the scenery changed to a forest. There is a paved road that led right to the front gate of a house just as big and stoic as the Hyuuga House. I saw the sign of a clan large and proud above the door but I had never bothered to learn which sign belonged to which clan, nor did father bother to teach me. I can only imagine his utter disappointment when his first born was a girl and then his second born followed and it was also a girl. Mother died when Hanabi was young not giving father any son-heirs. That issue was very discussed for a long time in our clan. I heard talk about how Neji should have been the heir, I've heard talk about how both me and Hana would be married, and Dad wouldn’t step down until one of us had a son and he was old enough to lead.  I don’t know about Hana but I never wanted to be the head clan. I just want freedom.
We stop again, but this time we’ve reached the house. I get out of the carriage the last. I'm in no hurry to be here, once more I wish dad had left alone, when he is away, I like going to the village and just pretend I'm one of them.
“Welcome” says a man in his late 40s. I assume he is the leader. Next to him is a beautiful woman, probably his wife. My father greeted them back as did my grandfather. “These are my beautiful daughters Hinata and Hanabi, and my nephew Neji, a fine young man” father says and gestures to eac of us. I know this dance, he says our name and we bow, this is easy and safe.
Sasuke
“The guests seem to have arrived” Itachi says but neither of us makes any move to go and introduce ourselves. This is the 5th family to come visit us in the past 2 weeks. It's exhausting to meet so many new people and to constantly pretend like you care what they have to say. Especially since most families that came had one reason only, to present their daughter or daughters if they had more than one, in hopes that Itachi would take a liking to them.
We are both laying on our back on the porch, my eyes are closed but I believe that Itachi is looking at the sky. Sooner or later dad will call for Itachi or both of us, sooner or later we’ll be forced to talk pleasantries with some strangers. The parents are the ones that want the marriage for title and prestige, while the girls were ok with it because Itachi was known as the ‘most eligible bachelor’ and they wanted to be the ones to catch his eye. While here the girls flutter their lashes and act as sexy and desirable as they could yet Itachi never finds any of them interesting. The guest have arrived for quite a while and dad hasn’t called for us yet which is weird, usually dad pushes the girls toward Itachi as fast as he can. Maybe this meeting is different. Just as I think that two girls take the corner. Itachi and I look at each other,I give him a ‘here we go again’ eye roll and he simply smiles.
“Hello ladies” Itachi is the first to speak and he gets up. The older girl flinched when Itachi spoke. She was smiling at her sister but now, looking at me and my brother her smile fell. The younger one bows and when she sees that her sister isn’t doing the same she touches her shoulder. The older sister bows too but I see her jaw is clenched and she seems to be in a foul mood now.
“My name is Itachi and this is my younger brother Sasuke” Itachi says and we both bow. “What brings you lovely ladies here?” My brother is a very good actor and he excels in small talk.
“Our father has a meeting with yours. We simply tagged along, we didn’t want to be alone home without father. Whenever he is gone we miss him dearly” The younger girl says with a smile on her face that looked anything but genuine. Her sister scoffed and turned around while her sister was talking. “My name is Hanabi and this is my older sister Hinata.” Hanabi makes a show of looking at our house before turning back to us and saying “You have such a lovely house” I look at Itachi and he smiles at them, he I amused and to be honest I am too.
“How was the trip here?” Itachi asks.
“It was marvelous. You have such a beautiful village nearby. I asked dad to stop so we could take a look around. And as soon as the village ended this beautiful forest started! I was so surprised; I haven’t seen so many lush trees in my life.” Hanabi talks with great theatrics, if I didn’t know she was lying I might have believed her.
“What about you Hinata? Did you like the village, do you like the trees?” Itachi furthered asks. I get the impression he wants to get the older one to talk as well, she hasn’t said a word yet, hasn’t looked at us.
Her head turns, she looks at Itachi and then at me and for a moment I think she’ll ignore us. But she sighs, closes her eyes and when she opens them ack up it’s like she’s a different person, her smile looks genuine, her posture changes to a more welcoming one. “It was lovely. I enjoyed the kid's theater very much. And this forest seems perfect for an evening stroll. I do hope you’ll accompany me so I wouldn’t get lost” her voice is gentle, and you couldn’t be able to she was annoyed just a moment before.
Before Itachi could reply a man took the corner as well, he appears to be Itachi’s age, maybe a year or two younger. When his eyes land on me and Itachi he plasters a fake smile on his face and bows but doesn't bother to tell us his name or greet us. He goes to Hinata and whispers something in her ear, I'm closely watching her, and I see her face falling. I see panic overtake her eyes as she turns to the man. His jaw is clenched, and his eyes are sad. The younger girl watches the interaction looking alarmed and confused.
“I’m sorry Hinata” the man says and he puts his hand on her shoulder, squeezes it and leaves, like whatever he told her didn’t just ruin her life. And it occurs to me that maybe she didn’t know the reason why she’s here. Her eyes look at Itachi and then at me she looks scared and cornered.

[ About Time ] [ @gentlegraceful-and-fatal ] [ Uchiha Sasuke, Suigin Ryū, Hyūga Hinata, Uchiha Shisui, Uzumaki Naruto, Haruno Sakura, Inuzuka Kiba ] [ SasuHina ] [ Verse: A Light Amongst Shadows ]
He’s never been a fan of these sort of things...but surely putting up with one for an evening will be better than the harping he’ll get for weeks to come for missing it.
Besides, the rest of his family seems eager to go - even his stoic older brother, clad in a haori and hakama, smiles as they get ready.
It’s not often, lately, that he’s seen Itachi smile. For that alone, he can grin and bear a matsuri...and its lights, crowds, and noise.
Ryū attempts to wrangle her twins as they double-check nothing is being forgotten, graciously handling her daughter’s whining and her son’s uncertainty. Nearly ten minutes after they intended, their little group manages to leave the manor behind, strolling through the empty land of the rest of the compound. Beyond it, the fervor of the festival can be both seen and heard. As they go, Sasuke mentally braces himself for the assaults on his senses, going so far as to dryly think a prayer that they avoid as many of his agemates as possible. The last thing he wants to compile on top of everything is dealing with Naruto, Sakura, or anyone else that seems to enjoy butting into his business.
The nearer they get, the clearer drifting music becomes - koto, taiko, shakuhachi, and even singing voices drift through the air. Strangely, it manages not to become a chaotic cacophony over the murmurs and shouts of the crowds. Letting himself focus on that as they go, his gaze wanders mostly above them. Lanterns glow softly in the night sky, hung back and forth over the road in various shades. Occasionally, a rogue firework goes off before the official show later in the night, civilians too eager to wait.
Most distracting, however, are the smells. The underlying smoke is accented with scents of seared meat, hot broth, and plentiful sweets. Sasuke’s stomach clenches against a gurgle - Ryū had insisted they forgo dinner at home as best to save room for festival food.
“Ah, konbanwa, Hinata-chan!”
A single dark eye snaps forward at the healer’s voice calling the familiar name. Rather than escorted by family or teammates, it appears the Hyūga is traveling - for the moment - alone. She flashes a polite smile at them all, exchanging pleasantries and shallow, informal bows. At the rear of the group, it’s he she greets last.
“Good evening, Sasuke-kun.”
“...Hinata,” he greets, forgoing her surname.
The action doesn’t go unnoticed, milky lavenders alighting for a moment before her attention is directed elsewhere, Ryū asking if she’d care to join their party. “I told my team I would meet them later for the fireworks, but...until then, I suppose I can wander with you all.”
“Perfect! We were going to peruse the food stalls first - have you eaten?”
“I have…”
“Well, we’ll just have to find you some sweets to top it off, then!”
Arms folded, Sasuke follows as their group begins to move again. For the moment, Hinata walks between his brother and his wife, each carrying a toddler and making small talk. A fourth wheel, Shisui lets himself drift back to walk beside his cousin. “She’s part of your year, right?”
“Hn.”
“Thought so.” The eldest Uchiha gives Sasuke a hint of a grin. “Didn’t know you were on first-name terms.”
“Didn’t know it was any of your business.”
“Aw, c’mon Sasuke! Given how small our clan is now, there’s no use in trying to avoid the rumor mill.” Shisui bumps Sasuke’s hip, ignoring his half-hearted glower. “I’m just glad there’s someone you get along with outside our family, huh? You’ve been a bit of a recluse since I came back, and I’m willing to bet it didn’t start then.”
“...you really can’t imagine why?”
“Didn’t say that. What I am saying...is that it’s good to see you making some progress.” For a moment, Shisui sobers. “...I know this isn’t easy for you. But she seems like a good place to start making friends. Get the impression you two have similar temperaments. Not, uh...like your teammates.”
The reminder deadpans Sasuke’s expression. “...yeah.”
Considering things for a moment as they reach the proper aisle for food, Shisui meanders forward and catches his sister’s attention. That, conveniently, leaves Hinata without her prior conversation partner as the rest of them peruse the menus.
...damn it, Shisui.
Heaving a small breath of a sigh, Sasuke closes the gap between them, hands in his sleeves.
“Hungry...?”
“Mm. Best to wait, though.” Sasuke nods to his cousin. “I’ll never get anywhere until he’s done.”
Sleeve lifted to her lips, Hinata giggles softly, and Sasuke can’t help but blink as the sound lifts his mood...ever so slightly. “Shisui-san is rather...vivacious, isn’t he?”
“You have no idea. He’s loud, forward, and he makes...puns.”
Another laugh, and another blink. “Not your typical Uchiha, is he?”
“No...he got that from his mother. She was also just...different. But not as blatantly as he is.”
“She was...your aunt?”
“My mother’s sister. Lost her husband in the third war - I never knew him. She almost married my dad.”
“Really?”
A few minutes pass in more idle chatter as they wait for the line to move. Why he’s decided to ramble about his family, Sasuke isn’t sure. He’s not even certain if Hinata cares, though she seems at least passably interested. It’s odd...she’s just so easy to talk to. Maybe because she - unlike his teammates - doesn’t feel the need to fill every spare moment with noise. He’s so used to being talked at, it’s just...different to be the one allowed to speak.
...pleasantly so.
Reaching the head of the line, he gives her a glance. “Sure you don’t want anything?”
“No, thank you. I ate with otōsama and Hanabi earlier.”
A brow perks a hair at her lackluster address of her sister, but he makes no comment. Instead he just orders his food, wrapped in paper and stuck on a skewer. Hopefully she doesn’t mind him eating in front of her...but she did say she wasn’t hungry…
From there, they all meander toward the games. Most players are kids, but that doesn’t stop Shisui from participating, promising his niece and nephew his prizes. Ryū lets them down to the road to watch the goldfish swim in a kingyo sukui stall, laughing as Shisui fails at his ring toss...and fails again.
“Want to try your luck?”
“...never played before.”
“Really?” Hinata’s head tilts before looking to the prizes. “I still have a plush panda from when I was young and won once. I should have gotten the rabbit…”
Glancing at her, Sasuke follows her gaze to a soft white bunny plush, its beady eyes seeming to stare down at him. Taunting him.
“...hold this.”
Jumping a bit as Sasuke hands her his last skewer, Hinata blinks as he takes the stall beside his cousin. So...he just has to land the ring on the right peg? Doesn’t seem that hard...Shisui’s just an idiot.
He pays the ryō to play, accepting a handful of rings from the game master before eyeing his target, hand bobbing slightly as he familiarizes himself with the weight. If he can hit shuriken targets...he can beat a measly ring toss game. A wrist flicks, sending a ring sailing...only for it to land a few inches off-target.
A blink. How did…?
“See?! It’s harder than it looks!” Shisui insists from beside him, clearly already frustrated. “These things are rigged!”
Sasuke’s stance shifts slightly. Okay...so there’s a trick to it. They’re probably more weighted on one side than another to warp their flight. He can compensate for that. Another flick...and it lands behind. Flick. To the right again. Flick. Falls short nearly a foot.
A vein ticks in his temple. This is ridiculous! And he’s out of rings!
Another few ryō coins are exchanged for another set. Eyeing them critically, a glance shows the stall keeper just smiling pleasantly. Now he’s between a rock and a hard place. Keep going, and make a fool of himself if he fails again...or quit and feel a keen sting to his pride.
And it has nothing to do with Hinata watching.
Squinting at the peg, Sasuke pulls back his arm, tensing to throw...only to twitch as someone loudly calls his name.
...to his amazement, it actually lands.
“Congratulations! Go on - pick a prize!”
Blinking, it takes him a moment to recover before snatching the rabbit - he’s not staying a moment longer. It’s then he can turn back around, finding the last two people he wanted to see tonight flanked on either side of his prior companion.
“Nice toss!” Naruto calls in greeting, grinning. “Those things are impossible, eh?”
“Tch...just gotta figure it out,” Sasuke scoffs in reply - he’ll never admit to the fluke. Handing over the plush, he barely restrains a twitch of his lips as Sakura jolts out of the corner of his eyes. “Here. One rabbit.”
Trading him back his skewer, Hinata laughs. “It seems I owe you!” Fingers scritch at the stuffed animal’s ears as she beams. “Thank you, Sasuke-kun...but you didn’t have to do that.”
“Figured I might as well.”
“So, uh...are you guys going to the fireworks?” Sakura manages to ask, smile looking a little forced. “We were on our way over!”
“Oh...I should find Kiba-kun and Shino-kun,” Hinata muses. “It is getting rather late…”
“...if you can’t find them, we’ll be around,” Sasuke offers offhandedly, tucking his arms back into his sleeves.
“Mind if we join you?” Naruto asks.
“What, you two aren’t on a date? We don’t want to interrupt.”
The pair of them stutter, and this time Sasuke can’t help a small, triumphant smirk. Hinata lifts a sleeve to her mouth, clearly hiding a smile.
“Sasuke! C’mon, we’re gonna miss the opening ceremony!” Shisui calls, the rest of the group already heading down the road.
“Let’s go,” Sakura sniffs, dragging Naruto one aisle over and ignoring his stuttered questions.
Sasuke just snorts. “...good luck finding your teammates. At least you want to see yours, hm?”
“They’re not that bad, are they?” Hinata teases, still smiling.
“...maybe not. But they’re the sort I get my fill of quickly,” he begrudgingly amends.
“Well...I appreciate you tolerating me for so long.”
He nearly pouts at her taunt. “...I don’t need to tolerate you, Hinata. I...”
The reply seems to catch her off-guard, and there’s a small jump at a dog bark behind them.
“Oi, Hinataaa! We gotta go!”
“K-Kiba-kun! Where have you two been?” she demands with a turn.
“Oh, y’know...around. Shino’s finding a spot - it’s gonna fill up quick!”
For a moment, she looks a little conflicted. Giving the Uchiha a glance, Hinata ducks a quick bow. “...enjoy the rest of your night, Sasuke-kun.”
“You too.” Expression guarded, he watches her trot off to catch up with the Inuzuka, a light tension in his gut.
...and it’s not jealousy.
...maybe just...a little loneliness.
Shoving the feeling aside, he moves to catch up with his family. Itachi gestures him over, the lot of them snuggled up atop a small knoll. His niece babbles excitedly, pointing from her father’s lap as the first batch of rockets go off. Her brother, however, burrows into his mother’s shoulder, occasionally peeking out shyly.
“Thought you’d bring her back with you!” Shisui teases between volleys.
“...she had prior arrangements.”
“What, and you didn’t drag her over? I’m disappointed, Sasuke.”
“I’m not an ass - she had plans,” Sasuke retorts dryly. “Besides, she could have changed her mind, and she didn’t. It’s not a big deal.”
“Whatever you say, little cuz.”
Scowling, Sasuke just reclines to watch the show, attempting to drown out Shisui’s taunting in the concussive explosions. Can’t he have just one aspect of his life avoid scrutiny by anyone else? Does everything he'll ever do really necessitate being picked apart and analyzed? They get along - so what? His social life isn’t a sample in a Petri dish!
Breathing a sigh, he heaves himself to his feet.
“Sasuke…?”
“Need a break from the noise.”
Ryū’s brow wilts, but she makes no attempt to stop him.
Wandering back from the show, a hand lifts to his brow, pushing at the drawn-up muscles. He really shouldn’t let a little teasing get to him, but -
“- told you before: I have an early clan meeting, so I can’t stay out too late. I’m sorry, Kiba-kun. Please don’t miss it on my account.”
“Who the heck plans a clan meeting the morning after a matsuri?”
“The Hyūga, apparently,” Hinata replies dryly. “Really - go back. I’ll see you tomorrow afternoon. You can tell me all about it, okay?”
The Inuzuka heaves a pouty breath. “Yeah, yeah...well next time, you’ll stay all evening. And you won’t spend half of it lookin’ for us in a wild goose chase.”
“I promise. Now shoo!”
Rounding the corner, Sasuke catches as Hinata literally (gently) pushes her teammate back toward the park hosting the firework display. She watches him go, posture wilting slightly.
“Doesn’t clan head get some say about meetings?”
Jolting in surprise, Hinata wheels around, only to go slack at the sight of him. “Some, yes...but not all. Hyūga elders are notoriously stubborn.”
“Yeah, old people tend to do everything slowly...including changing their minds.”
Hinata can’t help a humored huff of breath. “Very true…”
They reach an impasse.
“...well, I’d better not keep you. Can’t have you oversleeping before that meeting.”
“Certainly not. Though...I never did say thank you for letting me tag along earlier.”
“There’s no need to -”
Clearly ignoring him, she steps up a little closer, a hint of mischief in her eyes before leaning up on tiptoes. Lips press chastely against his cheek, practically along the corner of his mouth.
“...goodnight, Sasuke-kun.”
Comically wide-eyed and stock-still, he can’t manage a reply, able to do little more than watch her go. It’s only once Hinata slinks out of sight that he blinks, spell broken as footsteps sound behind him, accompanied by sniffling.
“Feel better yet?”
A pause, and then he turns. “...somewhat.”
Gently bouncing her son against her hip to soothe his tears, Ryū just smiles. “You’re not the only one who found it a little overwhelming, it seems. But I think it’s almost over...we can head home soon. All the better. These two need some sleep.”
He gives no reply.
It’s then the night sky goes quiet, and crowds slowly begin to disperse. Ryū glances back with a thoughtful look before offering, “You can head back - I’ll gather up the others.”
“I can wait.”
“Mm...you could.” Greys glint as her smile grows, answering his questioning look with, “...but then everyone would see that lipstick mark on your cheek before you can wash it off.”
Balking, Sasuke smears at his skin with a palm, coming away a light but noticeable red. “...uh...y-yeah.”
“See you at home, dear.” Watching him retreat, the healer giggles softly to herself, drawing Fu’s curious gaze. “...about time, ne? Come on...let’s go find the others.”
*falls over* THIS IS SO UNGODSLY LATE I’M SORRY. I’ve had the wORST block for like...a few months with drabbles beyond like one or two things, blugh. BUT, hopefully this was worth the wait!      And more hopefully I wrote your Hinata properly - I always get nervous writing other people’s muses ;;;;; But I gave it my best shot, aha - and I can make corrections if need be, just let me know!      But yeah! Here’s our babbs bein’ cute dorks. Matsuri setting cuz...I’m a sucker for it x3 Poor Sasuke just can’t catch a break - everyone’s gotta get up in his business. At least one person seems to let him off the hook...with just a minor hint of teasing, lol      Anywho, I guess that’s it, haha - hope ya enjoyed, Dani! <3

Chapter Two
- ANGSTY ANGELS
Focus, Sakura, focus!! Damn. The pink haired Virtue huffed as she went through a new taijutsu sequence she was honing in on.
“Ugh, I am never going to get this!! TENTEN WHY’D YOU LEAAVEE” She shouted irritatedly. Wiping the sweat from her pale, freckled brow, she slumped to the glens grassy ground. It was a sunny summery sort of day, and the boys were all on a mission to Earth, (Something about interfering in a battle that was about to break out between two human civilizations. They thought she was a liability to their success). So when she awoke on the day of the mission, Sakura decided to train. She decided she wasn’t going to be a liability any longer. Those fools! Just because Im not as strong as them doesn’t mean I am such a liability that I had to be left behind. This is the last time. I’m done being worthless in their eyes, she thought to herself with heated determination. With those words, the small, ungraceful angel sat up and took off towards a rocky precipice where her training grounds resides. I. Am. Not. Weak. Focusing her chakra to her feet, the girl of 17 flings herself from the edge, launching far into the buoyant clouds above. Unleashing her slender, ivory wings, she makes an almost graceful aerial flip. Sakura starts plummeting back down to the training ground, tucking her wings in as she goes. I will become great. I am no longer the girl who hides behind the back of a man. With a war cry, the cherry blossom angel speeds herself up by kicking the air with chakra powered through her feet. With quick relocation of her chakra to her fist, the angel pushes toward the ground. In seconds Sakura knows she will land upon the springy grass. “I AM NOT WEAK!!!!!!!!!!” she yells, and with her small, dainty fist, the once picturesque, serene field becomes nothing but a mess of dirt and upturned trees and flowers.
“My,my, my!” A smooth feminine voice sang amusedly. “That was quite the show, Sakura.”
The pinkette spun around quickly in her self-made crater, facing the voice who called her name.
“T-Tsunade-sama! Good afternoon.” she said, with embarrassment.
“Where did you learn such a technique? You have not sought out my aid in becoming a better protector, how did you learn of my chakra manipulation practices?”
“Uhhh…” Sakura stammered, “Well, you see, I have always admired you, and well I have always been amazed on how strong you are, so naturally I watched you whenever you would train with Jiraiya-san, and can I just say, he’s a bigger perv than Kakashi-sensei! Anyway, well, I simply put two and two together. I mean, your medical healing chakra is used by manipulating chakra from your hands to someone else, and I learned the same can be applied while trying to focus chakra for other purposes, like defence and striking…” she trailed off.
“Sakura Haruno!” Tsunade snapped, “I believe you to have talent. Like you expressed, you are not weak, and I believe you have the determination and intelligence of someone who could be great. I am not promising you will become powerful like myself and the other Seraphim, but I can help you become your best you. From this moment on, you will be my apprentice. You’re expected to be here tomorrow, 6am sharp.” With a smirk and a wink, the great Tsunade of The Virtues, one of the top Seraphim, unleashed her deep honey colored wings, that appeared to be dipped in crimson, and flew away into the skies above.
And with that, the ungraceful, frazzled girl slumped down into the now upturned grass once again. She giggled to herself, unabashedly and full of excitement. From a distance, her aristocratic and stoic teammate perched in a tree, he had been watching the events that just transpired. He gasped as Sakura launched herself from the cliffs edge, although he knew she had wings to catch the wind. He stared transfixed as she spun gracefully through the air and plummeted with heart dropping speed towards the grassy plain. He stood in amazement as she created such astounding damage with her feminine hand, and he had to agree, she was not weak. When Tsunade of The Virtues declared that Sakura would become her apprentice, he could not have been more proud and in awe of his annoying little teammate.
-----------
(a few days later)
As Sasuke walked home from his meditation, on a calm, blissful evening, he found himself wondering what his team of friends was up to that night. Was Naruto eating ramen again? Was Sakura with Tsunade, learning how to enhance her skills even more? He pictured the pink haired angel flipping so elegantly through the air, as if she had done it a million times. Sakura... when did you change? How could Naruto and I not see that you have become so different from the girl we first met? When did you start caring about your power as a Virtue and as a protector of Heaven? He walked along the edge of the paths, eyes closed and simply using his other senses to guide his way, lost in his confusing thoughts.
“Sasuke-kuuunn! Wait for me!” he heard from behind
“Tch, what do you want, Sakura? I have somewhere to be.” Sasuke asked, whilst pretending the owner of that soft voice wasn’t just the topic of his inner monologue. A slight blush began to dust his cheeks before he could help it.
“I was just wondering how your mission a few days ago went? I haven’t seen you or Naruto since you all left.”
“Hn, It was fine. We were able to interfere before there were any mass casualties, although, there were a few men who decided they could defeat us, and also defeat their enemy.” he snorted. “They didn’t last long, but Kakashi said not to harm them too much. It was actually kind of amazing, we never really get to apply our battle skills while on a mission...” strangely and near frighteningly, he found himself almost unable to stop telling Sakura of their mission.
“Hmph, well, I’m glad you had such a nice time. While you were away, I had a run in with  Tsunade-shishou---”
“Sasuke, little brother, I think it’s time you take your leave from your friend. Father and Mother have an important meeting to attend and they’d like you to be home when they leave.”  a deep, smothering voice interrupted Sakura’s floaty tone.
“Itachi-san!” she gasped, lowering her eyes, “Good evening! I apologize for keeping Sasuke away when he has family duties to attend to, I will take my leave.”
“Sakura, I’m prou--” before Sasuke could finish his sentiment, the Virtue girl bowed, then flashed away in a swirl of deep green mist, much like the color of her eyes, and a cherry blossom sent, one which often follows along with the pinkette.
“Itachi! I was well on my way home. She simply asked how the last team mission went, it would have been rude of me to ignore her. She is my teammate.” Sasuke bit out.
“Now, now, little brother. I know you wanted to spend time with your little girlfriend, but there is important matters Father would like to discuss with you before he and Mother embark on their meeting to Madaras household.”
“First, she is not my girlfriend. Second, do you know what it is about?”
Itachi becons Sasuke over with a slight, sad smile. “You’ll learn soon enough, Sasuke-kun” and with that, the elder Uchiha brother lightly taps Sasuke upon his forehead, and turns to walk home. What is that all about? What will I learn?? Can’t he just tell me for crying out loud?! From then on out, they walked in silence. One, pouting because he was kept in the dark, unknowing of how lucky he was, and the other trying to numb his mind to the tragic truths he knew. When the pair arrived at the Uchiha compound, where all of the Throne angels reside, Sasuke finds his demanding Father in the entryway.
“Sasuke, what do you know of the humans and their purpose?”
“Father, what do you mean? They are simply living in peace as God’s creations.”
“FUGAKU! In here, NOW!” yelled a voice from the kitchen. “I thought we agreed we were going to discuss this matter once we returned!” Chided Sasuke’s mother, Mikoto. Fugaku promptly left the boys and walked towards his wife’s formidable distaste.
“Now, dear, Sasuke deserves to know!” Fugaku tried miserably to whisper.
“He is too young! He has not yet met the hundred years required to become a participating member of Heavens ranks! He should not have to carry the burden of…” her voice died out as the doors to their cozy little kitchen slid closed . Sasuke looked to his older brother in confusion, only to find Itachi had disappeared from their home. What in God’s name is going on? The boy fumed quietly to himself, shuffling loudly out of the room. Whatever it is, I don’t want to be kept in the dark any longer.
The meeting which his parents attended came to pass. His father never brought up what he was going to tell his son, and his loving mother pretended the events that day never occured. So he never asked.
------------
Naruto woke with a start. What was that god awful noise?! Can’t a guy get any sleep around here?!!!!”
KNOCK KNOCK KNOCK
“NAARUTO! You better be awake!!” yelled a teasing, feminine voice. The boy groned as he rolled out of bed “Sakura-chan, you must be early! We aren’t going to the lake until this afternoon!”, he said disbelievingly, as he opened the door.
“You idiot, it’s already the afternoon! Come on, get dressed! We have our monthly picnic by the lake, and this time I didn’t forget the wine!” Sakura giggled. The two lively members of Team Seven walked slowly to their favorite spot on the lake, taking their time, joking, and smelling the flowers along their way. Heaven was a beautiful place, with lavish lakes, bubbling streams, powerful rivers, hills, dense forests, beautiful plains, and even some deserts. Heavens beauty never seemed to end, the Seven Heavens, as most angels called the group of floating land that made up the paradise in the sky. It was easy to get lost in the serenity of each and every ray of godly light that was cast upon their home.
“It’s so peaceful here, I never want to leave” the pinkette sighed contently.
“Yeah…it’s pretty peaceful here…”
“Nar, you okay? Whatcha thinking about? Hinata-chan?”, she winked. You know, you should ask her out already! She’s entranced by your daftness” Sakura teased, flicking him on the side of his head.
“Sakura,” Naruto stared at her with disquieted, deep blue eyes. “What if I told you that things weren’t as peaceful as they seemed…?”
“What do you mean Naruto?” The teasing tone gone from her voice, her emerald green eyes reflecting the anxiousness in her male companions.
“Well, recently, the tree has been emiting these, these vibes. I am troubled by them, I feel like something bad is going to happen. I don’t know what they mean, but, it’s strange... I feel almost more powerful, if that makes sense? Like... there is a part of me that can’t wait for this dark event to happen.” He whispered.
He looked up as he felt a delicate hand being placed on his shoulder. “Naruto, no matter what, I believe there is a solution to the reason for the Tree of Life to be acting erratically, and I know Sasuke-kun and I will help you understand what these foreboding feelings mean.” With that, the two angels fell into a contemplative silence, watching the light slowly fade from their endless skies. They didn’t know just how true Naruto’s feelings and intuition from the tree would come be. Indeed, something dark was happening.

AN: Hello once again! Peach here! Thank you for the reviews for chapter one! When I checked the story this morning, I was beyond ecstatic to see four reviews in under 24 hours. I feel like that’s pretty dang awesome for my first chapter of my first fic!! Thank you, from the bottom of my heart<3 This story is going to be broken up into parts. We are currently on Part One, chapter two (tbh this ch could have been waaaay longer, but for flow purposes I decided to break it up a bit more). I am not entirely sure how many chapters each part will have, and in all, I am not sure how many parts this story will have (most likely 3 or 4). The first part is going to be a sort of prelude to future parts, where there will be more sasusaku + other ship interactions. The first part isn’t meant to be super duper long, but I want you all to have a good understanding of the basic plot and background information, that will relate to part two. I will try my best to update frequently, but I do work full time, and I am also a part-time student. I currently have no Beta/ anyone in general to read over my writings, so I’m sorry if there are plot holes and grammar errors. It also takes a lot to not only write, but also outline and review each chapter. I really am trying to get some chapters out fast (bc I absolutely love binge reading a fic, and I’m sure you’re all excited and interested to see how this all unfolds ^_^). Please let me know if anything needs clarification! Once again, please leave your comments, questions, and critiques. Much love!!

Chapter 7 – Connected Feelings
Summary: Sakura just told Sasuke that she’s pregnant with their first child, but how will he respond?
Rating: G
Disclaimer: I don’t own Naruto
Chapter 1 HERE | Previous Chapter HERE | Part of Origins series
-
I’m pregnant.
First, relief washed through him – so she wasn’t dying. Then the meaning behind her words rang through Sasuke’s ears, vibrating through his body in a panic. He felt numb at the news.
“The condoms…” Was all he could mutter after five minutes of silence.
Sakura diverted her eyes from his gaze, “There might’ve been a small hole, or it could’ve broken during… There’s no way to know…” The tears only streamed down her face faster, “I’m so sorry, I should’ve been more careful, I should’ve paid closer attention…”
The two sat in silence, Sasuke feeling every emotion at once.
Ten minutes passed. The only sound that filled the room were her sobs.
He didn’t know what else to say. He almost got up, wanting to take a walk to help clear his mind; to sort through it all. Her next words changed his mind.
“I-If you don’t want to keep it, I-I understand…” She was hiccupping now, “The doctor said we could terminate the pregnancy if- “
“What?” Sasuke furrowed his eyebrows as Sakura looked up at him. Her expression absolutely broke his heart and he realized that, in this moment, he needed to put his insecurities behind him to support the woman he loves, “Do you want to keep… the baby?” It was weird for him to say.
And weird for her to hear.
Sakura nodded, “Do you?”
“I want to.” He laid down on the bed, encouraging Sakura to join him. Once she was nuzzled into his chest, more minutes passed until he gathered his thoughts, “I never knew if I wanted children after my past sins. I also figured no one would want to have children with me either – I felt like I never deserved that happiness. But since we’ve started traveling, the idea of having a family with you…” Sasuke had the smallest smirk on his lips, “I think about it a lot.”
Sakura could only cry harder – so he had been thinking the same things as her. And to hear her stoic partner admit it…
“Anata…” She wrapped her arm around him tighter, “I was so scared…”
“Hn.” He rested his head on hers reassuringly.
After a few moments of silence, the images of raising a child with Sasuke made her giggle.
“We’re going to be parents.”
“Yeah… When are you due?”
“Mid to late April. I’m about seven weeks along.”
He pressed a kiss to her crown, “We shouldn’t have the baby while on the road. We need to head back to Konoha.”
“I think so too.” She relaxed into his arm as he drew imaginary circles on her back.
“I also don’t want you to sleep on the ground anymore. We need to plan our travels so we can go from village to village to stay at inns.” He thought for a moment, “I think we can also take a few trains. It’ll take longer, we’ll maybe be there by late March. It’ll be the safest route, though.”
“Anata…” She frowned, “I really don’t need all this special treatment. I should be fine…”
He scoffed, “I refuse to put you two in any danger.”
Sakura giggled at the idea of Sasuke being a protective father, “We’ll need to send a letter to Kakashi-sensei saying that we plan on returning in March. I don’t want to tell him why... It should be a surprise.”
“We can send a hawk tomorrow.”
“I wish I could tell my parents, though…” She sighed.
“How do you think they’ll react?” If Sasuke was being completely honest, he didn’t know much of anything about her mother or father.
“I think they’ll be shocked, but not too angry. They just want me to be happy and healthy, y’know?”
“Ah.” It was reassuring.
A few moments of comfortable silence fell between the two, sleep quickly approaching them after such a taxing day. It was broken by Sasuke’s quiet voice. In fact, if he had waited a few more minutes, she wouldn’t have been awake to hear it.
“Let’s get married.”
“What!?” She sat up, completely thrown off guard,
“I mean it.” His face didn’t move, eyes still closed, “Tomorrow. Let’s go to the village center and fill out the paperwork.”
“Sasuke-kun…” She frowned.
Mismatched eyes opened to look at her, “Do you not want to?”
“It’s not that, I want to…” She sighed, “But I don’t want to rush into something like that just because I’m pregnant.”
“I want to do this because I love you and our child,” He rolled over to his side to face her, “If we have a child, I want to do it right. You deserve to have a husband to help.”
Sakura’s eyes went wide and she covered her mouth. He wiped away the tears that attempted to roll down her face.
“Will you be my wife, Haruno Sakura?” He decided to make the proposal sound more official.
She nodded, pulling Sasuke into a passionate kiss. Tears only fell harder when she realized that would be one of the last times she’d be referred to as a Haruno.
When the kiss ended, she gazed into his eyes. The happiness was evident in onyx and violet hues.
“I love you.” She barely whispered it.
He responded by kissing her forehead.
After about half an hour of silence, Sasuke almost fell asleep. Until he heard giggles from his now fiancé.
“Sakura…” He was tired.
“Sorry, Anata.” She giggled again, “It’s just… I’ve been dreaming of this day for so long! I’ll try to sleep now.”
“Hn.” He stiffened when more giggles surfaced, “Annoying…”
She gasped, “Are you calling your pregnant fiancé annoying? Y’know my hormones can make me cry really easy, right?”
“Go to sleep.” He wrapped his arm around her, pressing a kiss to her cheek.
The next morning, Sasuke surprisingly woke up first. Sakura was facing him, eyelashes fluttering as she dreamed. Her chest rose with every small breath she took, soft lips gently parted – practically begging to be kissed. Of course, he obliged.  She smiled, stretched her shoulders, only to relax and fall back asleep.
It was in this moment that he decided that she would be the death of him.
Carefully, he got up as not to wake her. They had about three hours until they needed to check out, and he figured her body should get as much rest as possible. He’d wake her up in two hours if she wasn’t already.
He got into the shower, letting the hot water run over his body. Sasuke couldn’t help but to wonder how his family would’ve reacted to all of this. He assumed Itachi and his mother would’ve been the happiest, and his father a little disappointed he was marrying out of the clan, and having a child before marriage. Regardless, he still would’ve supported them and would probably dote on the child.
As he washed out the shampoo, Sasuke chuckled to himself. The idea of making his brother proud of him…
It was nice.
After drying himself off, he wrapped the towel around his waist and re-entered the bedroom. Snores indicated Sakura was still asleep.
As quietly as he could, he got dressed. Part of him told thought that he should go out and get breakfast, but the other half said to wait for her to wake up. After all, he had no idea what would settle well in her stomach. Instead, he began mapping out their return back to Konoha.
When it was time to wake her up, he did so by gently brushing his thumb over her forehead, moving stray pink strands. Her hair was getting longer, he noticed. He didn’t mind it either way, honestly.
“Sakura,” He whispered as green eyes fluttered open, “It’s time to wake up.”
“Hm?” She pulled the blanket over her shoulder more, not wanting to get out of bed yet, “How much longer do we have until check out?”
A reversal in character?
“An hour.” He knelt down next to her, “You should shower.”
Eyebrows furrowed in anger, “Are you saying I stink?”
“You know that’s not what I mean.”
“Hmph!” She turned around, making it clear she was not happy with his statement.
Sasuke sighed and laid down next to her, wrapping his arm around her, “Please turn around…” Slowly, she did, and he continued, “It might feel good since you got so sick yesterday.”
“Okay, okay.” Sakura relaxed in his arm, tilting her head up with a pout, “I will if you give me a kiss.”
It was a small peck, but enough to satisfy her. Giddy, she practically jumped out of bed and headed towards the bathroom. Sasuke had a small smirk.
(While showering, Sakura abruptly had to get out so she could empty her stomach. The perfumes of the hotel’s shampoo made her nauseous.)
Once they were both ready and packed, they went to a pharmacy for Sakura’s prescriptions and had a small breakfast at a local bakery (the bread was incredibly mild, and actually settled in Sakura’s stomach). Then, they found the village’s head to fill out the marriage license.
The process wasn’t too difficult. Paperwork filled out in front of a witness there, and they were done. The only thing that caught them off guard was how the official told them that he had to send the marriage license to Konoha’s Hokage since they were outside of the country, and because of Kakashi’s request for official documents involving Sasuke to be sent to him. Ideally, they didn’t want to announce this to anyone and have it be a surprise, but they figured it couldn’t be helped.
Honestly, Sakura couldn’t care less about that in this moment. All she could think of was how wonderful it felt to write “Uchiha Sakura” on the document.
“Congratulations, Mr. and Mrs. Uchiha.” The official bowed to them with a soft smile, “Be sure to show those documents if you happen to need things with your old name on them.”
The Uchiha’s bowed back before turning to leave. After picking up the prenatal vitamins, they sent a letter to Kakashi notifying him that they would be returning in late March/early April.
Holding hands, the two ventured into the next village, as husband and wife.
~
Kakashi sighed, incredibly bored with the piles of paperwork in front of him. He would much rather be doing… well, anything else, really. He rested his head on his hands, letting his eyes close.
“Oi, wake up.” An annoyed Iruka chimed from a small table across the room. He agreed to work on his own papers from the Academy with the Hokage to keep company, “The longer you wait, the more you’ll have to do and you’ll be here later.”
“What do you you want to do for dinner?”
“Don’t change the subject. I’ll answer that when it’s time to leave.”
Kakashi sighed, right when someone knocked on the door.
Thank kami… a distraction…
“Come in.” He picked his pen up, making it look like he was hard at work. A messenger nin walked in, handing Kakashi a rolled up message, “It’s from Uchiha Sasuke’s hawk, sir.”
Nodding, Kakashi took the paper before reading its contents.
We’re returning. We’ll be back in late March or early April. You’ll get another message when we’re a few hours away.
      -S
“Huh?” The Hokage was puzzled. They hadn’t even been gone for a full year, and they were returning already? Maybe it didn’t work out how they wanted… but why would it take them so long to get back? It was only October, so they could’ve easily been back by January.
His thoughts were interrupted as another knock was heard. Since the door was open, Kakashi simply nodded the Konoha official in.
“It’s a document about Uchiha Sasuke, Lord Hokage.” She handed him the thick piece of paper.
Kakashi had to read it over a few times to fully comprehend what was happening.
They eloped?
“Oh.” It was in understanding. He couldn’t help but to smile under his mask with a soft chuckle, “Thank you, you two. You’re dismissed.”
The two bowed before leaving the room.
“Is everything okay with Sasuke and Sakura?” Iruka couldn’t help but to be worried about his former students.
“Yes, in fact, they’ll be back in about five months.” He gazed out the window, eyes drawn to the changing leaves that surrounded the village. Kakashi left it at that, not wanting to share news that wasn’t for him to share.
In fact, the next generation may be here before we know it.

Chapter 1 The Union
Spring. Pale rose-colored strands. Viridian ocular windows bearing the uncertainty of what was to become her new life. Milky unblemished skin outside of a simple pale purple mark on her forehead peaks out from the cheongsam of deep rich colors.
She was otherworldly. An absolute nymph of spring. An absolute contrast to the ebony strands, pupils, and pale complexion observing her with lackadaisical attempt.
Annoying.
She shifted. Ah. Had he said it out loud?
Her brows had pinched together from uncertainty to distaste. Her emotions decorating her openly before him. He held no time for her feelings, and wants. He spoke again this time. This time he was intending to. Not to her though. Never to her.
This was war. He did not have time to play the role of husband nor the desire to do so. Her viridian never left his features as if she was digesting all that was before her.
Healer. That was the only thing that had brought her to him. Take her before the Senju did. Madara had been certain of this as if it was the only thing that mattered.
They treated her immediately with subtle interest, but correctly. Recognizing her place as his wife even without question. She would adapt. She would follow without question. She knew her place beside him. The otherworldly creature before him held the recognition of her new status. She did not fight following the Uchiha he had handed her off too.
Strong. He was told she was strong. Petite hands that held strength that shattered fields and yet hands that could bring forth recovery should she so wished it, and wished it she did. The tales that had been spoke among his clan weaved themselves into a design he could not understand. These tales had come to the forefront of this marriage. The word was bitter, and so very unloving.
This woman did not see sides. She did not recognize Uchiha from Senju. She only recognized the need to heal. She had healed the enemy. She had healed the friend. She had healed the bystander. She had healed in her unknown village, that held unknown clans of no importance in this game of politics and power.
She would know now. There would be no Senju here for her to give her kindness too.
Their marriage would be dealt with properly upon his return. It would be but simple paper till then.
Stepping softly down the long open hall the painted sky graced his home with colors of reds, and yellows, pinks, and oranges, his home quieting in the wait for nightfall. His steps falling off to gaze at his open garden teasing him with his cherry tree in bloom.
His next mission already given, and set to begin in the early morning—set to begin only half a day after meeting her.
Madara had insisted "She is of convenience and nothing more."
Her muffled cries did nothing to raise empathy within him. His fingers grasping the door as if ready to slide it open at a moments notice. Only hours had transpired between their meeting and when he had casually handed her off to his subordinate, Hikaku, before heading to his mission briefing.
He held the smallest of interest in giving her, her solitude. He found he cared little for such things though sliding the door open. Those viridian eyes find his instantly and he finds himself taking her in once more. Bloodshot, and strained glassed over viridian hold his gaze, as he recognizes their color seemingly brighter in her sorrow. Her rose-colored chin length strands darkened with her tears sticking to her cheeks as the full length spilled around her, and her cheongsam twisted around her form.
He does not waste his time with words—its easier to avoid such things. He was not a man of many words to start. It would be best for her to realize this now. She has now placed her arm in front of her eyes as if to shield her face from his gaze. He takes it from her form giving her as she desires. He could not give her love. He could not give her compassion. He could give her this, though.
His disrobing begins and he hears her shuffle behind him. He holds no interest in this woman to dare look back at her as she begins her own. His sleeping robe settles onto his shoulders as he sets to tie it wrapping it only once before tucking in the fabric. His ears pick up the delicate sound of her shuddered exhale as she slides herself into the futon she had sat upon in her sorrow. He takes his place into his own that is settled next to her. His eyes fall upon her form as he slides himself in. She has brought those long locks to settle in front of her giving way to her neck that dares peak from her robe. He closes his eyes settling on his side to face the wall then to eye the woman who will now become part of his life.
It's not as though he'd be sleeping as it was.
The household is in full life as the sun basks it's rays upon them giving good fortune and hope for success. His armor and honor on display across his being as he prepares for his departure. He finds her at the door way among her handmaid and his comrades. She is held together in more deep rich reds and whites but has taken their fashion in, making it all her own. Her kimono long and detailed showcasing her almost empress status, those long locks braided and tamed no longer spilling from her in waves, and those eyes enhanced and bold with thick liner, and thicker lashes. Their eyes meet as his focus is only fleeting upon his newly acquired wife. He has a victory to claim. A mission to accomplish.
His comrades, those he trusts to help him acquire such victory, seem to share his fleeting focus on her, and grip themselves for their departure. The maid gives her farewells in proper account his wife doing none of the sort. Her viridian showcasing her disdain for the him as he walks past her without a word.
He could care not what the spring nymph holds towards him.
He was there one moment in time and then gone again the next, and yet she could not find it in her to care for the man who had obtained her. Her gifts, and abilities were sought out and now officially acquired, and not by the side she would have foreseen.
The girl could not understand the power struggle of men.
Could she have put up a fight? Yes.
Would she had lived when Madara Uchiha had come to claim her? No.
A faint smile decorates her lips as she wanders her way from the door her husband and his comrades have left through. The painted smile is of cheap quality and only serves to hold the place of the firm line her mouth had desired to stay in.
The footsteps of her handmaid are behind her as the handmaid begins to explain what is expected of her. Visitation of another is set to enter her home, and she will not be allowed to explore her new home just yet.
Tears were not needed now. The frustration she had allowed herself to be swallowed by the previous day was no longer a place she could return to. Sakura had known of this man well before she had set her gaze on him. His name was known throughout the land even in the small village she was lifted from. Sasuke Uchiha was a cruel man.
Her clan, the Haruno, held far different traditions, clothing-styles, and treatment among their members. They were small though, and held no large part among the powerhouses that had divided the land.
Little did these two sides seem to realize that in that division there was truly no difference between them when hurt, broken, and dead. There was no definition of friend or foe present. There was only bodies.
The rose-colored newlywed—it made a soft scoff escape her lips as the word played in her mind—looked toward her handmaid stopping in the unfamiliar kitchen that was to become her own.
"Uchiha-sama, your guest is to arrive in only a matter of time. What would you like to serve them?"
She held her hand up to silence any further question, "I will serve them tea. You are dismissed." as if her words held no power the handmaid had made no motion to leave her side seeming unsure.
"Speak." those forever searching eyes found the maids in that moment not pleased. It seemed even with the title being on paper she was not being recognized.
"Pardon me, Uchiha-sama, but would you not like me to assist you in these matters? It would be shameful to leave you to make such things."
Closing her eyes she took in a sharp exhale. So this was the traditions of their women? The maids provided while she was expected to play the roll of doll only to be useful when necessary. These were not her families customs. The wife provided more than just care for her husband. She was to rule her home—when he was not there to do so—in more than just a name carrier.
"No. I will be the one to make the tea, and handle our guest. Please see to your other duties until I am finished with our guest."
The hesitation had lingered but only for a small moment in time before she left her side leaving her to her own devices. The kitchen was large in size and was very much what she assumed was traditional to his people. This man seemed to thrive on his clan, his people, and his traditions.
She would need to adjust. She would need to learn. She would have to bite the tongue that wanted to desperately to hiss.
The guest that come to her had been polite. He held similar appearance and manners that she had found in her husband in the short hours they had gazed upon one another.
Izuna Uchiha. Brother of Madara Uchiha.
She questioned if all Uchiha men held such a stoic nature and endless pools of ebony that made up their aesthetic. This one held a formality to him though. He knew his power. He knew his place well. He held polite conversation as they touched on the topic that had brought her to where she was now.
Sakura had expected the meeting to be more informational, and yet it seemed he had come to simply check on her meeting with her husband. She gave nods, and short answers. This man before her was seeking something from her and that was all she could be sure of.
The slight upward tilt of his mouth as he had given his farewell sent her skin ablaze with curiosity at what he had found. It was in these moments as he left outside her new home that she realized she had missed a chance. This missed moment in time was a moment she could have used to understand this power crazed clan. It had been blaring her in the face with opportunity and in her guarded manner she had overlooked her chance.
No words ever came from her husband directly she would soon learn as information found its way to her through her handmaid in the early mornings. It had been surprising that she would have heard anything only seven days into his departure. Sakura found it incredibly odd to a point. Fingers ran themselves through her stands as she and the handmaid traveled the town taking in this new place for her to call home.
The stares found her easily enough—how could they not with her stark contrast to the ones who ruled over them with an iron fist? It's easy enough to tell who is of her newly acquired family, and who is an innocent, a bystander, and simply living under their rule. The eyes of the innocent that fall upon her are kind and almost seem to question her existence. Those of the Uchiha look upon her with the subtle interest but dismiss her. She guesses they do not know of her role yet.
They will soon.
The soft smile she had placed on her lips never fell though. The rose-colored woman would let them drink her in and swallow her whole.
The clinic had been one of the first things she had sought to see. Healing was one of her best strengths, and deepest of passions. It was what Izuna said had made Madara seek her out no less.
This place of healing was sure to become one she frequented. If her dear husband had thought she would find her time entertaining the loneliness of their home as he brought pain into the world he was wrong. Observing the seemingly constant fluctuation of people entering and leaving it brought her mind to a place she questioned if she'd ever gaze upon again. It was by no means a large clinic, but no where near as small as the one she had helped in back home.
"Tell me of my home." the handmaid seemed unprepared for her sudden vocal request.
This woman before her spoke so highly of a clan she had only heard the horrors of. She spoke with absolute clarity when describing her husband. She spoke of a pride that Sakura found confusing, and questioned.
"The Uchiha protect us all. They give us hope for peace. They give us a home when ours are gone."
She could feel the smile on the woman's lips without setting her eyes upon her maid, "You do not harbor distaste for the Uchiha?"
The maid stops at her words as if she the words she spoke where foreign and not of their own tongue, "I do not understand your question, Uchiha-sama. The Senju are the ones who have brought about fear, and have taken those precious to us away."
Did war do this to people? Did war make them take sides and twist the very fabric of black and white? Did it cast aside the right and wrongs?
This maid, she thinks, will teach her well.
Fourteen days. Blood splattered. War torn. Exhausted.
It is only fourteen days since his departure and he has claimed his small victory for his people. He has gained them another win in this devastatingly long war. The travel back is long with only small talk among his men, and those from other fractions following. Their hearts are bursting with the excitement of returning home.
They are welcomed back with praise and cheer. The lanterns that line the main path through their village light seemingly for them. Flags of deep rich reds, similar he notes to that of the kimono she had worn in his departure, line the road way as vibrantly as the lanterns. Their people look to tend to their every ache and pain. He catches no glimpse of rose-colored hair and then all at once it is wrapping him up completely. Deep within their village at the clinic she is there. She is outside taking people from the line. She is tending, healing, and comforting the spoils of war. The children without homes, and the bystanders caught in the cross fire of this political struggle.
Her lips are turned into a soft smile as she calms the child presently in her care. Her eyes display a humor that only she seems to understand. The lines are long as they await their turn to enter. Yet she continues to pull from the list as if she were apart of the medics inside. The children go to her easily enough, those with families following suit.
The Uchiha do not.
They cannot understand her just as he could not. They recognize her as his wife even though the celebration has not occurred. This nymph of spring has her handmaid in panic at her antics. Their eyes finally meet and the doe-eyed spring nymph holds no shame in what she is doing. She holds no shame in acting as more than his wife.
He finds his steps to her before he knows or understands what he's doing. Those glowing hands of hers leave the injured victim of circumstance, spoils as he would call them. She stands tall to meet him fully in his gaze refusing to back down as if he had come to stop her. Her hand finds its way to his arm. It's warmth covers him as it glows once more. Her lips are pressed in a firm line. She was given to him for this purpose and he does not stop her. She finally breaks the eye contact as her lashes softly close around her optics as if she is concentrating. The flesh under the wrapping is mending and she lets out a light breath as she tastes her words carefully.
"Welcome home, Uchiha-sama."
Her fingers dance across the cloth, and armor as if seeking more injuries. His are injuries are light. He is unsure of this closeness she has took upon herself to create. Endless ebony follows her every move, and in just moments she is gone and he is walking away leaving her to her own devices. The praises and bows that follow those he passes are nothing but a blur as he makes his way to his home.
Sakura finds her husband's routine when home is simple to follow, and easy to work around. The thought that she had, had was proven wrong when she made her way back within her new home. For all the tales of horror, and absolute strength his name carried she had believed she would be scolded for helping heal at the clinic that night.
Only days into his return though she stopped thinking such things. The expectations she had held of him through tales alone where starting to weave themselves into pure myths. This man she stole gazes of kept himself busy. He trained relentlessly for missions to come. This man would always find his way into his garden from the engawa. The beauty it held was not one she had expected or become familiar with in this short span of time. The garden seemed to be his place of retreat when relaxing. This man read quietly and spoke of very little. Conversation was not one he seemed diverse in. She noted his retreat into one room in particular her handmaid she noted did not frequent or explain.
It left her to ponder on her own what was behind those sliding paper doors. It whispered to her curiosity asking to be peeked into. It wasn't until he left one particular morning that she took that moment to enter all on her own, and quickly regretted her curiosity. The guilt of invading this privacy he seemed to hold in this room washed over her instantly.
Those viridian eyes wandered over the kamidana. The memorial shrine was unbelievably beautiful, and yet she felt herself choking as the pictures of the deceased looked back at her. There was no question who they were. Those pictured had been kind in giving their son their best features.
In moments she found herself seated in front of them. Their traditions still foreign to her, and so as not to bring dishonor to them, and to herself she gave but a prayer to them. It is here she hopes for them to have found happiness in the afterlife. There is a hope that they held good merit before King Yan.
She does not wish to impose upon his privacy longer than she already has and slides the door closed behind her lingering in the hallway. The home is enveloped in silence as she finally takes her fingers from the door and presses them to her chest.
How much had this man lost in this war? Was this his motivation to fight?
Thoughts of what makes this man who he is, and what pushes his actions fall off at hearing him in the entry way. Today she finds it hard to look at him with the same level of disdain she had in his departure. It is forced out in this moment by sympathy at losing such loved ones so early.
The disdain would return in the morning.
The wedding is glorious, and filled with noise outside the shrine. All around them is filled with whispers of hope in this joining bringing forth a good omen, and others look on to recognize this forever binding contract before him.
His mother and father no longer living, his brother a traitor lending his strength to the Senju.
In their place Madara has appeared with his highest of rank.
They share a long stare of understanding before he tells him he was not needed for such an event. Madara simply casts the gesture aside giving into formality establishing politely, "I would not miss one of my right hand's union—especially my sister's son."
The smirk that plays across his features is more than enough for him to dismiss the conversation.
He no longer cares to play politics and only longs to get the traditions over with. He finds himself playing his part as things progress. This otherworldly creature takes such tradition and turns it exotic with those features that so very much are hers seemingly capturing her audience. There is the briefest of thoughts towards if she had fought to not wear the shiromuku. He again finds himself unable to care if there had been a fuss on her end.
They begin their rituals so obviously foreign to the woman beside him. They exchange lucky objects, provide their wedding vows, share their nuptial cups, and continue down the long line of traditions.
He has no immediate family to play the part. Madara, his closest living relative from his mother's side, has taken their place. He finds he is okay with these choices and decisions. Her family is there to play their own part understanding the rituals easily as if practiced. He looks upon these two now understanding how a nymph of spring could be born. Her father's hair was darker but still that of a rose-color, and her mother had not followed their traditions in her cheongsam with viridian eyes showing the same disdain he had found in her daughters.
The Uchiha were not welcomed among all. It was not uncommon. They were thought of as cruel outside of their own and those that followed their feelings and beliefs. He would not find shock in her being a Senju follower. It did not matter. They held her daughter and now she would follow Uchiha.
The reception is quiet and he welcomes the change of pace. His village is bursting in celebration outside more than when the rituals had taken place. He will be displaying his wife among them and allowing them to take full recognition of who it is that they will be following, and obeying in his absences.
Her uchikake is a soft gradient of white to red with gold trimmings, and cranes. It's intricate flowers, and patterns are only overshadowed by the Uchiha fan that stands proudly upon her back. They welcome her with loud praise, and screams. Their flag raised only moments later.
Exhausted is how he would proclaim himself at their displays, and yet he holds his position firm only casting a subtle look to his wife to take note of her virdian eyes showcasing her smile more than her mouth could do alone.
The recognition following the wedding is there in complete form. The whispers are there floating endlessly around her. Many of these are praise for her features, and the resurface of tales of her natural gift for healing. The rest are of distaste for her dirty blood.
They did not find her worthy of him being from an unknown clan. They found no comfort in the stories of her abilities weaving around her and instead rested their ebony windows upon her with distrust. They simply saw no purpose or reason behind Madara forcing their poor leader to marry someone so unknown and of so little quality. They would not dare to utter this whisper any louder.
Bitter—that is what she would call the feeling heavy on her chest.
Yes, she was of a clan that held no importance. There would be no full blooded Uchiha's produced from this union—it was what she assumed had stopped him from laying with her the night they had married. Yet even with the knowledge that they weren't wrong she desperately wanted to prove to them that she was worth far more than they could understand. Those tiny fingers of hers could bring healing, and just as easily destroy the ground before them.
Her viridian ocular window's show the unsure feeling resting in her stomach. How was she to proceed in the slur that has left the persons lips. Confrontation was not something she had expected when she had been making her way through the village. They had done it in the middle of the large crowd among the shopping district no less.
Viridian are now narrowing, and she can feel the words commanding respect coming up from her throat when she is caught off guard by her husband of all people. His shoulder has grazed her own taking the lead in dealing with the fellow Uchiha's verbal assault.
Her husband has grabbed them by the collar and yanked them effortlessly forward. This is where she finds herself lost and taking a step back. Those endless ebony are gone and in their place a deep rich red customary to his—no their—people.
The fear that has overtaken the poor clansmen is painted clearly for all to see. The loud shopping district is ghostly quiet. The noise of the district has died and come to a still so all can stare on at the public demonstration of punishment and a precedence is set for any who wish to question his marriage.
Blood hit the ground, and a cry of terror is heard. No one attempts to save the man who has dared bring an insult to her.
Sakura had been prepared for many things in this marriage, but this—this was not something she could stand by and watch. The verbal slur he had called her along with his vocal disdain for her presence next to his leader was not in league with the punishment playing out before her. The mans body was thrown with little to no effort. Blood spilled from his wrist at the loss of his hand. The poor individual's eyes had turned to the deep rich red that her husband's eyes sported as he let out loud pants coated and laced with fear, and pain.
Her voice was loud and commanding as she found herself running to his aid, "Stop."
The tales of horror that weaved and wrapped themselves around her husband found their foundation once more. The idea that they were myths had been completely discarded. This man was as cruel as they said to even his own people.
Deep rich red orbs, and lips pressed in a firm line was what adorned his face as she stood before him. Her heart is loud and she is sure he can hear it. The terror of this man makes her question her own strength, and abilities. There is fear she cannot do anything to stop him truly if he wishes to continue.
His scowl deepens as he walks past her as if she is not present in front of him. The only thing she can do is follow him with her viridian before assisting the injured man. There was terror at first upon her attempt to help him, and it pains her that anyone would fear her to this extent.
The apology comes next as she heals him, and she can only give a smile cheap in quality knowing that this is not the apology brought by willed recognition. This is the apology brought about by fear. Sasuke has guaranteed that they will respect her out of fear.
It isn't until later when she is in the entry way that the tears fall from her face. She feels his eyes and she can do nothing but shield herself from his gaze with her arm. It does nothing to hide the clear drops that fall from her chin, and it's here that she is completely disgusted with herself.
There is the realization of how much fear she had truly felt watching his public demonstration. There is the realization that in some sick manner she felt the tiniest bit of pride that her husband had defended her.
Sakura could only do her best to bite her lip in an attempt to silence her desire to give an outward cry. That hint of pride twisted her in unthinkable ways. Even though her husband felt nothing toward her, and maybe even despised her, he had come to her aid.
The disdain she feels towards him had shifted. Hints of it now were felt for herself, and her weakness. The feel of him is gone and it's in the midst of this that she presses delicate fingers to her mouth to let out the strangled cry that had begged for release.

HEEEY! HEEY! HEY! Give me attention! 😣 Could you please do Modern AU+Mafia AU! Madara, Itachi, Sasuke, and Fugaku headcanons to their Wife/Husband getting kidnapped for ransom(that's the word for money if I'm correct)? Please and thank you! - Punpkin
Joy: this mafia au is literally one of the best things ever I love it to death
Madara
In a mafia AU I feel like Madara would probably be the big boss. The head honcho. Don Madara Uchiha (that has a nice ring to it). And he’ll be FURIOUS that someone’s trying to use you against him. Like how dare you? It’s pretty impressive that they got to you in the first place, considering Madara’s devoted a ton of guards and security to protecting you. But fun time’s over, time to get serious. And Madara very serious about your kidnappers.
When he first hears about the ransom he’s gonna be pretty angry. Might hit his desk or throw something, but he calms down pretty quick. He has to, otherwise he might put you in danger. So he takes a few deep breaths and starts rattling off orders. He sends several people to investigate how and why you were kidnapped (he needs to rule out a possible mole in his ranks), and he’ll have another squad of people trying to find you without making it obvious. Lastly, Madara himself will handle negotiations with your  kidnappers and buy time for his subordinates to investigate. He haggles with them, delaying and arguing as much as he can. He demands evidence that you’re there and that you’re safe before even thinking of paying the ransom.
Of course, Madara’s endgame is to have his own people sniff out the kidnappers and carry out a rescue mission. He sure as hell is not going to reward the kidnappers with either his money or his compliance, and he sure as hell isn’t going to let them keep you. As soon as his lieutenants have located where they’re keeping you, Madara’s kicking the door down, guns blazing. If he has to he’ll gun down the kidnappers where they stand, but he’d like to take them in for some…extra interrogation.
If he captures the kidnappers, then he definitely keeps them locked up for a while, extracting every last bit of information from them. Their contacts, their methods, everything. And once he’s done with them, Madara might inflict some additional punishment. No one gets away with taking you.
Speaking of which, Madara gets extra protective once you’re back. He leads a dangerous life, and the last thing he wants is for you, his lovely spouse, to get caught up in everything. So he doubles–no, triples your bodyguards and stations more of his subordinates in and around the Uchiha mansion. He makes you get apps on your phone that can alert him in case something happens, and he gives you jewelry and clothes that have buttons linked to alarms in his office. He might get borderline yandere a bit; if he had his way, you’d even have a chip in case you’re kidnapped again. All for you, darling~ Just in case.
Itachi
Itachi would be a lot less hellbent on revenge than Madara, I think. His number one priority is to get you back safely, and if that means paying the ransom then he’ll do it.
He betrays no visible distress when he’s told that you’ve been kidnapped, but someone who knows him well can notice the way he taps his fingers against the nearest surface, how he chews on his bottom lip, and furrows his brow, deep in thought. Itachi takes a few minutes to think and then directs his subordinates to thoroughly investigate your abduction. One of his lieutenants communicates with your kidnappers, listening to their demands and talking them into lower and lower prices for your release. Itachi listens on the side, drumming his fingers against a mug. If the investigation comes up empty then he’ll still have a way to get you back.
As soon as the investigators return, Itachi’s going to take action. Normally he’d wait for more information to filter in or at least confirm every relevant detail, but he absolutely cannot wait when it comes to you. If he can, he’ll send a rescue squad, but if your kidnappers can’t be taken down with brute force or you’re in serious danger, he won’t hesitate to pay and keep you safe.
He’s so relieved when he finally lays eyes on you again, and he’s quite clingy for a while after too. He always has a hand holding on to you, and if you two have to be apart he’s going to call you every twenty minutes to make sure you’re alright. God forbid you leave your phone in a different room, lest he freak out and send at least eight panicked aides rushing to your rooms.
When Itachi eventually gets his hands on your kidnappers (he doesn’t rest until he’s got them) it seems like a demon’s fury awakens in him. He refuses to tell you what happened in that room for a long, long time, but you remember finding a stained suit in the garbage a few days afterwards.
Sasuke
Sasuke is not going to take the news well, tbh. He shouts at his subordinates to get out of his office and holds his head in his hands, remembering all the people he’s lost in his life so far. He doesn’t want to lose you too. He can’t. He won’t. *dramatic music*
Sasuke calls his second-in-command and rattles off his order: locate you at any cost. He has no intention of losing you, and he can deal with how you were abducted once you’re safe. Right now, finding you is all that matters.
Despite his family’s protests, Sasuke will join his subordinates on the street. You’re his shining light in a life full of darkness—why should his safety matter more than yours?
When a member of his family inevitably confines Sasuke to his room, he paces, unable to keep still. He reads and rereads the report of your kidnapping, trying to squeeze new information from words he’s already read a thousand times. He calls everyone he can, demanding progress reports one after the other. One of his most trusted lieutenants handles negotiations with your kidnappers, but they have to bar the door so Sasuke won’t get in. No one wants to be in the same room as him in case things go badly.
Sasuke’s subordinates probably track you down and bring you back, capturing your kidnappers in the process. By now, Sasuke has probably ordered someone to just pay the ransom and get you back—he needs to have you with him. His stoic face evaporates when you rush into his room, and he leaps up, throwing his arms around you. He’s never this affectionate unless he has some other purpose, but this time he’s not trying to accomplish a goal. He was genuinely afraid for your safety. But now he finally has you back! Finally back. Finally.
Sasuke’s vengeance is terrifying to think of. His fury seems to seep from his very being, and your kidnappers die slow, painful deaths. Sasuke shows no mercy to anyone who stands in his way, and especially not to anyone who threatens you, consequences be damned.
Fugaku
Fugaku’s probably the most likely out of the four to pay your ransom if it guarantees your safe release. He’d weigh all his options carefully, taking every possibility into consideration before making a decision. He cares about you and wants to keep you safe, but he also needs to think about the mafia’s future
He demands a report’s worth of organized information about your kidnapping as soon as he hears about it. The best way to get you back safely is to be prepared, and to be prepared means knowing exactly what happened and what to prepare for. He immediately eliminates any loose ends that can be used against him, cutting them off with ruthless efficiency. Then he sets about bringing you back.
Fugaku has his subordinates search every nook, cranny, contact, and corner for information about your whereabouts. He pulls out all the mafia’s contacts and informants and sets all his information handlers to high alert. He also assigns a team to find out everything they can about your kidnappers, sifting for any information he can use against them. If they just want money, then he can simply pay them off and get you back without risking violence and his subordinates’ lives. If your abductors want more than money, well, they’ll get it.
To him, this is like a game of chess. A very stressful, very dangerous game of chess with you as the endgame, but once he has all his pieces in place Fugaku swoops in with calculated precision and rescues you. One squad surrounds the perimeter while another captures your kidnappers, and you’re escorted back to the Uchiha mansion in a limousine with twenty armed guards.
Fugaku dismisses his aides and assistants when you’re brought to his office, and he pulls you close. Even if he hides his emotions, he still cares about you dearly, and he is so relieved that you’re safe. He heaps extra protection on you and teaches you how to defend yourself, devoting hours of time to train you in various martial arts and weapons. After all, prevention is the best preparation.
Unlike the others, Fugaku won’t torture your kidnappers. He makes sure they’re dealt with as quickly as possible so he can go back to the dojo and teach you. After all, why waste his time with this trash when you’re waiting? He has better things to do with you.

524 "Be my wife." :3
-Thanks for the request, hope you enjoy!
///
This wasn’t so bad.
No, he could definitely handle this.
Uchiha Sasuke was a man calm and stoic in nature, he was strong, smart and calculating. Nothing got by him, and he always handled each situation casually, never losing his cool even in the most dire of encounters.
Today however, he couldn’t shake his nervousness. His hand had been sweating since early that morning, just after he made his decision and there was this endless fluttering in his stomach that he despised. There weren’t many things that could frazzle Uchiha Sasuke.
But, Haruno Sakura was one of them.
She’d always been important. From early on, when they were teammates. Sakura became a part of the only family he had after his family was slaughtered, and he’d always looked at her as a precious person, someone to protect, someone he could never forget.
There were so many girls who were crazy about him, but not like Sakura. She was always there, always caring, always trying. He pushed her away. Feelings weren’t something he cared to have, power was of the upmost importance. Then he was away, being consumed by hatred more and more with each day that passed.
So much had happened, and Sasuke knew he’d been out of his mind with rage, he knew he was wrong about so many things. He could have done better, been smarter. But, the past was the past, all except Sakura, who was more a part of his present now than anything else.
In a way, he felt that Sakura had always been the one for him. No woman had ever been so interesting to him. Even when he was away, he enjoyed learning about her growth- and the only time his mind wandered aimlessly was when she’d crossed his path.
Why did he call out to her every time? Why was it so easy for him to acknowledge her presence above anyone else?
Because, she was Sakura. That was all there was to it.
It wasn’t the first time, but she’d never shaken him like she did in the war, just before his final battle with Naruto. At that time, he still couldn’t see things their way, and he never considered himself wrong. But out of pity, and consideration, he only put her to sleep- and the dreams he gave her weren’t any that would destroy her mind.
She still loved him. After all his mistakes, after he’d nearly ended her life, after he hurt her so many times, even after he was so cold and heartless. She still loved him, she would never give up, and he finally accepted just how special that girl really was.
More than anything, she wanted to be with him. But, he left her once again, starting his journey for redemption. Again, for years he left her- and when he came back, she was still waiting. Always waiting, always thinking of him.
Time was flying, and when he finally made it back home, he made sure she was the first person he met. That day she cried, but they were tears of joy and that was also the first time since they were kids that she held him. Her touch felt good, welcome, and to his surprise, his lone arm had wrapped around her small frame in return. Sasuke was glad to be home.
Being a patient man, Uchiha Sasuke took things slow, at his own pace. It had become clear to him years before that he would never want any woman but Sakura, and he planned to have her- but he wasn’t rushing things.
He didn’t hide from her though, and it became pretty often that they saw each other, either having dinner together at her place, or out somewhere, or taking a walk alone. They weren’t officially dating or anything, but they had been on a handful of dates. Those dates though were usually short and sweet, the first had lasted no more than two minutes, when Sasuke had lost his cool for the first time with her, and he ended up running away.
That just ended in him having to face her with a lame excuse days later, but he would never forget the way she made him feel. It was the same as he was feeling now, and he never knew what to do with himself when he got like so.
Only a year had it been since he’d been home for good. He was enjoying it more than he thought he would. Missions for him were rare, and when they came they were easily carried out in a matter of hours, so he was always home. He was always around for Sakura, and they were getting closer, seeing each other more, and slowly moving towards their future together.
Then today happened, and Sasuke’s carefully thought out future took and unexpected turn. Sure he’d known he could be sent away at a moment’s notice, and for any amount of time. But, he’d been so caught up being back in Konoha and learning more about Sakura, and spending time with her, that he almost thought that would be his life from then on.
It was a foolish, wishful thought on his part.
Kakashi had sent for him at the crack of dawn, he left his rented apartment and made his way to the Hokage’s office. That was when his first lengthy mission had been given to him, and he wasn’t ready, he didn’t know what to do. He was shaken, and why? Because all he could think about was Sakura.
“I’m taking her with me.” He said quietly, those words his only response to his orders.
Kakashi sighed as he looked over Sasuke with downcast eyes. “You have no reason to take Sakura with you. You could be away for months, Sakura is needed here. I’m sorry Sasuke, but without reason, I can’t approve of you taking her.”
“Tch.” Sasuke was pissed.
There was no way he could tell her he was leaving again, and unable to take her along. He had to walk away without any further words, because he was highly annoyed with his old sensei at the time. Sakura would be just as angry, and even more hurt.
He had to find a reason. One reason was all he needed to be able to take her along with him.
Down and depressed as he was, he did what he always did in those moments, and sought Naruto out. The two of them ended up at Ichiraku’s where they discussed Sasuke’s current dilemma.
“So, what are you gonna do?” Naruto asked before slurping up some of his noodles.
Sasuke just stared at his untouched bowl, as he had been for the past few moments. “I have to find a reason for her to come. Only I can’t think of one.” Aside from the fact that he wanted her to.
“Too bad you two are moving things so painfully slow. If you were married, you’d have every right to take her.”
“Come again?”
Naruto shrugged as he downed the remainder of his ramen. “If you were her husband, you wouldn’t have to worry about those ridiculous rules. You wouldn’t need a reason.”
“If I marry Sakura?” Sasuke thought this over momentarily, but the idea didn’t sound half bad.
He had all intention of marrying Sakura eventually anyway, and when he thought about it, he wondered what it was he was really waiting on. In all honesty, they’d been waiting long enough. He didn’t know how Sakura would react though, because it would certainly be unexpected and spontaneous. But, he hoped she wanted it too.
With Naruto, Sasuke came up with a plan.
By that evening though, Uchiha Sasuke was reduced to a pile of nerves. He’d never made his way to Sakura’s place any slower. There was no way for him to know how she’d react and it was quite possible she might faint, or destroy something.
Maybe she wasn’t ready, even if she was crazy about him. He barely touched her, had only kissed her a few times, and he was always keeping things as casual between them as possible. Now his hand was being forced early, and he would be asking her to marry him, and without having taken the proper precautions for doing so.
She’d probably never agree.
Long before he was emotionally ready, he arrived at her apartment. The fresh cooked food from inside could be smelled even before he was at the door, and after one swift knock the door was opened before him.
Sakura stood there, smiling brightly at him. She’d worked that day, but had showered and changed into one of her favorite dresses. Her hair had grown longer and she had it pinned back on one side. He thought she looked beautiful. All he could think about was the conversation ahead of them.
As she stepped aside, he walked in and made his way into the kitchen without a word. Sakura followed close behind him after closing the door and as Sasuke took a seat, she went about serving the food. Obsidian eyes following her every move. Sasuke unbuttoned his cloak and laid it across the chair next to him.
Those big green eyes kept looking to him thoughtfully, and he knew she knew something was on his mind. He could never hide much from her anyway. Still, he was anxious, and he had no idea how he would ever come out and say all that was on his mind.
“What’s the matter, Sasuke-kun?” She asked carefully once she’d finally taken her seat across from him.
With a sigh, Sasuke stared at the food before him instead of her. He didn’t know where to begin, without ruining his proposal, or solution rather.
“You’re leaving again…” She whispered after several moments in silence. The food remained untouched and even her chopsticks left her hand at the realization. “…and you’re not taking me with you.”
His dark, dark eyes were full of sympathy and compassion as he finally met her gaze, heart quaking at the pitiful look in those beautifully vivid green eyes. “They briefed me this morning. I asked if I could take you along, but Kakashi claims you’re needed here, so without reason, there’s no need in me taking you.”
Hurt and anger raged in those so easy to read eyes, though only briefly before her face relaxed completely, until she gave him a slight smile. “I’m happy to know you considered letting me tag along. It’s fine though. A mission is a mission. It’s not like I’m going anywhere.”
She sighed a sigh full of misery and longing, and Sasuke found himself wanting to hold her, to assure her that everything would be okay. But, he wasn’t going to do that. He would however, let her in on his plan.
“I don’t intend to leave you behind. Not this time.” Things had been moving slowly, but he wasn’t accepting the possibility of missing out on another year with her. This mission was long term, and even a half a year was too long. Slow as he might have been, Sasuke was eager to start his future with her.
“Oh?” She raised a curious brow, seeming surprised and impressed at once.
“Ah.” He nodded.
“So, you’ve come up with a reason then?” She asked curiously.
Again he nodded, inhaling deeply before he spoke again, though his words came out calmly. “Be my wife.” The words left his lips so casually that it surprised even him, but Sakura’s jaw dropped. “Then I’ll have all the reason I need.”
Time seemed to sit still, and she was too quiet for too long. All Sasuke could hear was the deafening sound of his heart beat, but he never looked away from her, not even once. His gaze was unwavering.
Sakura was the one turning red with embarrassment and averting her eyes from his. Finally after what seemed like ages, she spoke. “You don’t mean that. You’re not serious, right?”
Appalled, Sasuke could only gape at her in disbelief. As if he would ever joke about something so serious. He couldn’t believe she thought he wasn’t sincere in his words. Maybe he hadn’t gone about mentioning it as he originally planned, but nothing was going according to plan anymore.
“Sakura.” He called her name in warning, meaning he would not be made a fool. He knew he wasn’t the most affectionate of men, and he hadn’t been as open with her as she would have liked, and he was slow, dreadfully slow. But, he also knew that Sakura was aware of his feelings, because she had a way of unnerving him, and getting him to do things he never usually did.
“We don’t have to rush things. You don’t have to do this for me. Honestly, I’ll be fine. I can wait for you.”
Sasuke knew this. He didn’t look at it as if he were rushing things… just speeding them up a bit. It wasn’t for her that he was doing this, not completely. No, it was his own selfish needs that had him playing his hand early. Sakura was strong, he knew she would get by, just as she always had- and she would wait on him. Possibly forever. But, Sasuke was tired of them waiting, he was tired of holding back. If she was willing, he was more than happy to make her his.
“I want you to be my wife.” He told her seriously, smoldering obsidian eyes narrowing on hers.
His eyes missed nothing. He saw the way she shuddered, then chewed on her bottom lip that quivered so suddenly. Her brows pulled together, trembling as tears brimmed in her eyes. By then he was sure she wasn’t going to deny him, but he still didn’t like her silence.
“Tch. Annoying woman. Answer me already.”
Sakura laughed then, wiping her eyes with the tips of her fingers. “Okay, Sasuke-kun. I’ll be your wife.”

Team Bonds
Headcannon: Sakura wants to throw a dinner for Team 7 in hopes that it brings them closer together...Or does it?  Rated: T Requested By: theborutosdadtrashinme I’m once again sorry this took so long! I have such a one tract mind that I can't write two different things at once so it takes me forever to get prompts done while writing my other fanfics but I hope you enjoy this! I really miss Team 7 -- the nostalgia was real writing this. Enjoy everyone!
                                                         xox
“I can’t wait to meet your parent’s, Sakura-chan!” Naruto bounced up and down with unkempt excitement, eliciting a hesitant laugh from the pink-haired genin.
This had been an impromptu team bonding experience set up by their Sensei, well techinically – it had been Sakura who thrust the idea to their missing Sensei, and he had agreed that it would help their team’s overall dynamics. Yet somehow, miraculously mentioned Sensei wasn’t present at their designated meeting spot, leaving the singular female to devise a way to handle this dinner alone.
At first, Sasuke had thought better and didn’t want to go, figuring they would be better off training instead of going to a “pointless dinner”, effectively dousing Sakura’s good intention for her teammates.  But with Naruto’s cheshire grin about following their teacher’s orders and spending time alone with their female teammate, and Sakura’s sudden sadness – the last Uchiha relented to the idea.
“They can be a little…Much,” she tried to explain, suddenly nervous that Sasuke-kun would be meeting her daunting parents. Her mother would sit there with a distant, friendly smile – but her father was another issue all together.
Naruto quirked a curious brow, “what do you mean?”
Sakura thought about it, “they just have strong personalities…I suppose.”  With a side eye glance to Sasuke, only a few months ago when they had first been assigned teams did he scold her for being ungrateful for her parents. Since then, the young girl had taken it upon herself to truly appreciate her parents – although it still led to the constant bickering with her mother.
Even still, she had to wonder how awful it must be for both of her teammate’s to stay at home – alone, all the time.
“Well that makes sense, you have a strong personality, too!” the Kyuubi holder beamed proudly, the insinuation completely going over his head – even causing Sasuke to smirk at their blond teammate’s ability to miss the undertones of a conversation.
 Inner Sakura fumed.
Sakura stifled the urge to hit him, “what’s that supposed to mean?” she growled at him. Naruto scratched the back of his head, clearly confused with the twist in their conversation.
They arrived to the moderately sized house brimming with the smell of a cooked dinner.
Sakura helped prepare the dinner all day, putting extra care into the tomato onigiri knowing it was Sasuke-kun’s favorite food, but she hoped that the infinite frown on his face would hopefully cheer up at the sight of the food she prepared whole-heartedly. She even ran to the store last minute to get the ingredients to make Naruto’s second favorite red bean soup as a surprise, hoping that this whole night would go well considering all the planning she put into it.
They entered the foyer and took off their shoes, “Mama, I’m home!” Sakura called into the house.
Both of the boy’s followed her, Naruto soaking in the entirety of her home down to the details and layout, and briefly down the hall they passed by a table with an assortment of family pictures, one of Sakura as a toddler with a red ribbon and bells in her hair on her father’s shoulders,
He blushed furiously at the sight and picked up the frame, “Sakura-chan…You look so cute!” he held it happily in his hands before waving it towards Sasuke to see, “doesn’t she look cute, Teme?”
Sasuke kept an air of indifference and eyed the picture for a brief second, “hn.”
Naruto frowned.
Sakura snatched the photo from his hand, “Naruto! I had such a big forehead…It’s embarrassing,” setting the picture down, with her free hand she absently touched her forehead out of habit.
The Uchiha noticed the small notion, amongst Naruto’s denial of her claim, Sasuke couldn’t understand why she would worry over such a petty thing and her insecurity about it, but felt inclined to say something, “you don’t have a big forehead.”
Both Naruto and Sakura stared at the normally stoic Uchiha, a small blush warmed up her cheeks, “thanks Sasu-“
“Of course she had a big forehead!” Kizashi interrupted the trio and slung his arm around his daughter’s shoulder, pulling her closer to him to flick the spot she had previously touched, “poor thing was so embarrassed about it for years she wore her bangs straight to cover them…I have a picture somewhere…”
“Papa!” Sakura snapped, pulling herself out of his arms, “let’s not talk about…Those types of things,” she bit out, already envisioning the downward spiral this evening was becoming. Those types of things was code word for anything embarrassing or out of line, which she had strictly gone over with both of her parents for the past week, hoping and praying they would listen so this night would go smoothly.
Mebuki popped her head out from the kitchen, “oh there you guys are! Dinner is ready!”
Sakura breathed a sigh of relief, grateful for her mother’s interference and led her team to the dining area – Naruto forcibly sat himself beside her, giddy with excitement once her mother and father appeared, “I’m Uzumaki Naruto, ‘attebayo!” he introduced himself excitedly.

Kizashi laughed, overjoyed by the excitable blond like himself, “I’m Kizashi  — this is my Wife Mebuki,” he offered the two young genin — said Mebuki entered in with the steaming rice and began laying out the table.
“Hello,” she greeted tightly — Naruto beamed again, eyeing the food that was steaming before them.
Then, the normally guarded woman motioned towards the Uchiha, “and you are?”
Sakura interjected, “this is Sas—“
“Uchiha Sasuke,” he said simply, choosing to keep himself closed off in the midst of the commotion.
Naruto kicked his foot forward beneath the table to hit Sasuke’s leg, narrowing his eyes in a warning to be more friendly.
Mebuki side-eyed the lone Uchiha, wondering what her daughter could possibly see in the brooding boy, “well I hope you guys like tomato nigiri and bean paste soup,” she commented sourly.
Sasuke didn’t say anything and Naruto bounced happily as Sakura finished grabbing chopsticks.
“Itadimasu!” the round of people began to dig in.
Well.
Naruto more so inhaled his food, leaving Kazshi and Mebuki in a dumb-founded awe that he could eat so fast, where as Sasuke picked at his food slowly — leaving Sakura halfway wondering if he thought they poisoned it.
Mebuki cleared her throat, “Naruto…You should slow down before you choke.”
“Oh Mebuki! Let the boy eat!” Kizashi said jovially, “it’s obviously a compliment to you and Sakura’s excellent cooking!”
“Mrghh — Sakura-chan you made this?” Naruto questioned excitedly, suddenly much more inclined to savor the food.
The kunoichi smiled, bashful enough in the presence of her head-strong parents, “yeah I did — is it good?”
Naruto shook his head ecstatically, “it is—! Right Sasuke?”
“Hn.”
Sakura watched their quiet teammate eat his food, only regarding it when he happened to chew and glance around anywhere but the people that surrounded the dinner table.
If there had been an impending feeling of doom in regards to this night, Sakura should have known it would be involving her dad and Naruto somehow. Both too excitable for their own good, they dug into their food at the same time — almost as if they were in a race, when Naruto suddenly choked on his food.
Mebuki shot up and began hitting the Uzumaki on his back, “try and cough it up!”
Naruto held his throat, trying to cough up the food but struggling to do so, in the midst of his struggling, he kicked his legs forward and heaved back, effectively knocking over the table and all of the contents everywhere within their dining room.
“Naruto!” Sakura motioned towards him — trying to remember the heimlich manevour that she learned in her safety classes at the academy.
Sasuke rolled his eyes, annoyed he was no drenched in bean paste soup.

Red faced and unable to breathe — even Sakura started to panic.
“Kizashi! Do something!” Mebuki growled at her husband, “he’s choking to death!”
Kizashi stood up and rushed over to the blond boy and lifted him to press in time with his gagging — once, twice — until Naruto coughed out the tomato onigiri…All over the table.
Sasuke smirked at the antics, finding amusement where as the rest of the room struggled to cope and Naruto panted heavily to regain the oxygen that had been kept away from him.
Mebuki sat dumb-founded at the loss of most of their food.
Sakura sighed evenly once Naruto gained his normal breathing, “I’m sorry, Sakura-chan,” he murmured after a few long, drawn out seconds— flinching and waiting for the expected hit that would inevitably come.
Instead, the Kyuubi holder was pleasantly surprised when his teammate rubbed his back with a concerned look etched on her face, “are you alright?” she asked him softly.
Naruto nodded lamely, surprised by one of the first real touches between them that didn’t involve her knuckles or helping him up after sparring with Sasuke, “…yeah, I am.”
Mebuki glanced around at the torn up room, “Sakura — help me clean this up.”
“No! I’ll help, I was the one that made this mes—“
“Sit down,” Mebuki refused to let her guests clean, “this whole ordeal wouldn’t have happened if Kizashi had been an adult and didn’t race a child in an eating contest.”
Sakura’s father glowered, but still held a cheerful smile on his face, “no harm done! You boys can wait in the foyer while we clean up this mess.”
This is going horribly.
Sakura sulked and helped her mother clean while her teammates waited — relatively silent other than the occasional insult thrown at one another.
By the time Sakura was done, both Naruto and Sasuke had tired themselves of insulting one another and waited for her to be done, although the Uchiha felt more inclined to leave rather than stay.
He stood up to leave and put on his shoes.
“No, we’re waiting for her! She went through all of this trouble to make dinner and have us bond, you can’t just leave yet!” Naruto shot at his rival.
Sasuke huffed, “it isn’t my fault that you ruined this dinner, Dobe.”
“Hey!” he took the bait, “that was an accident and you know it!”

“Right, it isn’t like this is the first time you’ve choked on something.”
Naruto’s face turned red — and before he could lunge at his teammate Sakura appeared in the hallway, “stop it!”

Pushing past them, with a fury that both boys didn’t want to be on the receiving end of, they followed suit and put on their shoes after her and scurried out of the house, tentative to talk to the pink-faced kunoichi.
“What is wrong with you guys?” she snapped once they were a safe distance away from her house, “you can’t go five minutes without arguing? And inside of my house where my parents can hear you?”
They remained silent in the face of her anger.
She felt like tearing up out of frustration, but she bit back the urge.
“—All I wanted was for us to have a nice dinner where we could actually talk and bond with one another like the rest of the teams do…I spent all that time working on dinner and it’s like it doesn’t even matter to either of you!”

Naruto tried to interject, although it was lost on both boys why this mattered so much to her.
“…I know you both spend most of your time alone, and I really wanted a night where we could have dinner as a family since neither of you have that — I mean,” she huffed, eyes peppered with tears — having run this idea by Kakashi-sensei had been the highlight of her week. Planning, and even seeing their faces during dinner where they could all smile and laugh for one night and feel like a real team was all she wanted.
“The other teams get along so well — I thought that we could bond even though you both have your differences,” her voice quivered then — why was she getting so upset?
Sasuke stepped forward, more annoyed with the situation than not, “well we aren’t family, Sakura.”
Naruto glared at the Uchiha, appalled by his apathetic attitude, “why do you have to be such a jerk, Teme! Obviously Sakura-chan just explained why this is important to her — and she was only thinking of us and our team!”
“I didn’t ask for her to do this — I only went along with this because Kakashi-sensei told us we had to, and like I said before it isn’t my fault you went ahead and ruined it by choking like an idiot,” he seethed at the temperament of the blond, and like their days in the academy and even until now — they could never see eye to eye.
“Well you could at least be a little grateful that she went to all this work for us!” Naruto yelled at him, pointing a threatening finger in his face.
Like the dreary days of summer that wilted and killed the cherry blossoms, Sakura felt the night slip away from her completely.
“Get that out of my face before you make me really mad, Dobe!”

“You think I care? I’m not afraid of you!” Sakura wiped the stray tears from her eyes and watched the scene unfold, too tired to try and stop her bickering teammates.
Until Naruto’s fist came swinging towards Sasuke’s face.
Sasuke dodged and lunged forward, tackling Naruto to the ground in a fit of dust and yelling.
“Stop it!” Sakura snapped at the both of them, “stop fighting!”

Why couldn’t she ever do anything to help them?
In a quick motion the two boys were torn apart and thrown ten feet in either direction — stopped by their Sensei who glared at both of the immature boys, “I should suspend all of your guys’ missions for this lack of competency in being a team…Or better yet, I should dissolve this team altogether and have the Third decide what to do with you.”
Both boys shouted in protest but Kakashi brushed them off, “both of you leave! I don’t want to see your faces right now, Sakura I’ll walk you home.”

Naruto attempted to defend himself, but the harsh look their sensei gave him told him otherwise. He offered Sakura an apologetic glance before leaving, Sasuke ignored the lot of them and stalked off towards his home — both eventually grumbling about one another underneath their breathe.
“Maybe this wasn’t such a good idea,” Kakshi decided — wondering what in the hell he was going to do with his team. This had to be a cleverly crafted plan of revenge by Hiruzen as punishment for all the times he had been late. Truthfully, he had been perfectly content in ANBU before dealing with this bunch.
“No, I’m glad that at least I got to try,” Sakura kept her eyes down trodden but watched the two boys on her team leave on separate paths, “…I just didn’t want them to be alone for one night.”
Kakashi frowned beneath his mask, at a loss for comforting his singular female student, “come on let’s get you home — we’re going to discuss everything at our next training practice.”  And did  the elusive Copy-nin have a plan for them.  The bell test would be mild in comparison.

Title: What a Ride . Summary: Sakura’s hurt her back and Sasuke is the only one that can take care of that stubborn medic. . A/N: Okay, this has nothing to do with the SS month themes, but I couldn’t let this opportunity pass! I’ve already started the other one, so don’t worry XD I’m assuming the piggyback ride happened after the fight against Momoshiki, and even if it didn’t, this is the way I’m making it haha I hope you enjoy this one, and please, tell me your opinion! . . . “ Slow down, Sasuke-kun! It hurts too much.”
“ Just stop moving, Sakura!”
“Be careful! Be careful!”
“ I’m trying!”
Pain was spread all over her face as her right hand rested on her lower back. Her fingers massaged the sore area, as her husband carefully tried to place her on their bed. Slowly, Sasuke was doing his best to support her body with his only hand, trying not to let her down too fast in order to avoid the impact. His grip around her was strong, but her frightened, left fingers just refused to release his cape, making things even harder for him.
He was trying not to worsen his wife’s painful situation, but her childish-self wasn’t helping him at all. All her wincing and screaming was annoying the hell out of him, and for a second, the male Uchiha thought about dropping her on the mattress.
What a mature medical ninja, he thought. Seeing her whining like a baby certainly made him doubt all the things she has already gone through in her life.
“ Ouch! Ouch! Careful, Sasuke-kun!” Her body finally came in contact with the soft cotton of the sheets, and her pink head went to rest on the pillow. For she was on the right side of the bed- his side of the bed, the manly scent of his shampoo filled her nostrils, and carefully, the pinkette adjusted her position so her pain wouldn’t get any worse. Sasuke, then, removed her shoes, as she closed her emerald eyes and allowed her ears to capture the steps of her husband against the wooden floor. The sound was getting lower, as he directed himself to another room to grab her an anti-inflammatory.
Damn that stupid training, she thought.
After so long trapped inside the hospital, healing all of those who had been injured by the attack during the chunin exams, her muscles couldn't support a fast, energetic battle against two fast and energetic children. Even if she hated to admit it, the effects of her extreme working routine were finally showing themselves, and if she didn’t separate a proper time to rest like her husband told her to, things would only get worse in the future.
Perhaps, next time, those kids can really kick her ass!
Perhaps she will never win a battle again!
Perhaps they will call her old!
And that is something she certainly cannot allow. Her reputation as the new sanin would be ruined forever, for sure, and Ino would never leave her alone after that.
Sigh. How troublesome it is to be an adult, she thought, still massaging her back. However, as soon as she felt his presence by her side, Uchiha Sakura thought that being nursed by her husband, Uchiha Sasuke, could not be that bad.
“ Here, take this.” He said, in a low voice as he offered her a glass of water. Once her grip was tight  enough against the cup, the raven haired man took the pills he had placed inside his pocket, and gave them to her. His eyes watched as she hardly moved her body to swallow, and after mumbling a painful ‘thank you’, he retrieved the glass and rested it on the nightstand.
What a caring husband, for sure. So kind and gentle to his stubborn, bedridden wife. He really is a gentleman, and more than anyone Sakura can say so. The way he carried her on his back to their apartment and the attentive way he placed her on their bed certainly showed how much he cares for her when she needs him the most.
Sasuke is a really loving husband.
But that didn’t mean he wouldn’t try to teach her a lesson.
“Sakura.” His voice was now heavier, as she felt shivers running down her spine. Her previously closed eyes opened in fear, for she knew exactly what was about to happen. Of course he would never accept the fact that the strongest medical ninja in the world would simply hurt her back like that. There was more behind that, and he wouldn’t give up until she told him the truth. Not that he didn’t have an idea already.“ For how long were you at the hospital last night?”
“…. Not too much.” Her voice was muffled by the pillow, as she refused to speak louder.
“ How long?” He repeated, and she could tell he hadn’t bought her lie. “ And don’t try to fool me.”
A sigh escaped her lips, as she accepted her defeat. There was really no arguing with him. “ Well, let’s see… My shift started at 10 pm and then there was that emergency surgery I had to operate… And then Shizune-san was also called by Tsunade-sama… Uhmm… I would say around 20 hours, plus the time I spent at the children’s clinic.”
At that moment, Sasuke didn’t really know what to do. A sudden urge to press her sore back started to build up, as anger was spread around his veins.
How come that woman was still willing to fight? Was she that stupid?
The raven haired man didn’t know, but he certainly had his doubts about the second question.
Even if he had told her to rest and even if the entire village had told her the same thing, Uchiha Sakura, for being as stubborn as one may be, decided to accept a 24 hours shift after an entire week of unstoppable work at the hospital. She performed a surgery, covered up for others and even went to visit the clinic without a single break. Also- he could tell- it was needless to say the pinkette had ignored her stomach, for his ears could easily capture its upset sounds after welcoming the pills he gave her.
A defeated sigh escaped his lips, as he mimicked her gesture. There was really no use in screaming with her. His wife is really impossible.
At least, now that she couldn’t move, her body would force her to get some good rest.
Or that was what he thought.
“ Ah! And I’ll also be returning to the hospital later today. I need to check on Naruto to see if he’s okay.” She finally smiled, much to his surprise.
She had got to be kidding him, right?
“ Are you an idiot, Sakura? How the hell are you going to check on the dobe if you can’t even move?!”
“ Tch, as soon as the medicine starts working, I’ll be able to heal myself, Sasuke-kun. Then I’ll be good as new again.”
“ Hn, as if I’m letting you leave this bed.”
“ Excuse me?”
“ You’ve heard me. You’ve done enough for today, don’t you think? Naruto will survive even if he has to wait a day or two.”
“ A day or two?” Her emeralds widened, as she looked at his stoic face. “ Shannarou, Do you expect me to stay in bed for an entire day!?”
“ At least two days.”
“ That’s definitely not going to happen. I’m leaving this bed now.”
“ Oh, I would love to see you try.” He glared at her, challenging her words. “ You can’t even move to the other side of the bed, Sakura.”
“ Watch me.”
And so, as his wife tried to crawl around the bed, Sasuke simply remained still, watching as she struggled to move at the speed of 1 centimeter per hour. It was clear that she was in an unbearable pain, and yet, her stubbornness refused to let her rest. For she was never the kind of girl to simply accept defeat, Sakura just didn’t feel comfortable with the idea at all. She wanted to stand up and do her things again. She wanted to go back to the hospital and be able to prepare her family something nice to eat at night.
She wanted to get out of that damn bed, no matter what.
And even if he believed her struggle to be pure and admirable, her husband just wouldn’t let her go anywhere. Not even if she wanted, and not even if she could.
After what felt like an hour, the pink haired Uchiha managed to reach the middle of the bed. As she continued to emit those weird noises, her eyes were determinately set at the edge of their bed, and for he knows her better than anyone, Sasuke knew that as soon as she reached the edge, Sakura wouldn’t think twice before throwing herself on the ground. Her stubbornness would get her even more hurt, but she wouldn’t care about that as long as she could find a way to stand on her feet after that.
That annoying woman of his, he thought. He really can’t leave her alone, right? A smirk crossed his lips, as he decided to, indeed, do something about her struggle. She would probably get really mad at him, but at that moment, he couldn’t care less about her protesting words.
It was all in the name of her health.
Not wasting much time, the male Uchiha removed his dark cloak and placed it over the chair they had on the corner of their room. He used his teeth to help him remove his glove, and his vest was the next part of his clothes to leave his body, followed by his shirt. For he wasn’t able to remove his shoes at the entrance, Sasuke had to leave them next to the chair, placed one next to another. After some moments, he was left in nothing more than his dark pants, and that was when the raven haired man slipped onto his bed, shifting his weight around the mattress so he could find himself a comfortable position.
A comfortable position that consisted on his hand wrapped around his wife’s waist.
That jerk, she thought.
Sasuke didn’t even need to look at her face to know she was blushing. He felt as she flinched at his touch, and how she almost jumped off bed when she felt his hot breath against her neck when he moved closer to her. His wife is a sensitive woman, and getting those reactions from her will always amuse him. Just because he was taking care of her, it didn’t mean he couldn’t have some fun himself as well, right? It’s not like they’re not married, after all.
“ S-Sasuke-kun! What are you-“
“ Shh… Just get some rest, Sakura.”
“ Rest? H-How am I supposed to do so with you… with you…” The pinkette couldn’t bring herself to end that sentence, as she felt the warmth radiating from his chest to her back. Through the fabric of her clothes, she could feel his outlined muscles, and his hand resting over her navel was definitely threatening her sanity.
That hot bastard. Trying to hold her back like that was definitely not fair. If not for her unbearable pain, she would've made him pay, for sure.
“ Hn, I don’t know what you’re talking about.” He smirked, lowering his head so his nose was breathing in the floral scent of her hair. Oh, how he had missed that, he thought. “ Just close your eyes and relax.”
“ You’re gonna pay for that, Sasuke.”
“ Eh? For what?” He said, slipping his hand under her shirt through the hole that exposed her belly. He could feel the warmth of her skin, and as he started to draw invisible circles with his fingers around her scar, Sasuke could feel her back relaxing as she snuggled closer to him. Just a little longer and she would give up, he knew. Well, at least for now.
Her eyes shut in pure contentment, as she slowly threw back her head against his collarbone. She softly intertwined their feet, and her ears were now focused on his beating heart so close to hers. At that moment, when her cheeks were a little lighter than before and when her body had already adjusted to his, Uchiha Sakura knew that all her forces had vanished. She no longer wanted to leave that bed, for rare would be the opportunities for them to enjoy such pure intimacy again. Even if she hated to admit, the pinkette had surrendered to his warmth, and even if she could already feel the effects of the pills, the female Uchiha simply took a deep breath and allowed a smile to decorate her features.
Oh, how good it felt, she thought. That moment could last forever that she wouldn’t mind at all, for she doubted it was possible for anyone to grow tired of such comfortable embrace. Sasuke is warm, and even if she will never admit it out loud, her husband is also an excellent cuddler.
However, he is still Uchiha Sasuke.
And if she really thought he would simply forget her confession back then, then Sakura was incredibly mistaken.
“ I hate you sometimes…” She whispered, keeping her eyes shut as she enjoyed the moment.
“ Oh, and why’s that?”
“ Tch… You can always twist my decisions, and that’s really frustrating.”
“ Hn, then does it mean you’re not going anywhere?”
“ Yeah…”
“ You promise?”
“ I do.”
“ Good. That was what I wanted to hear.”
“ Eh?”
And so, as if nothing of that had actually happened, the raven haired man quickly stood up from his bed, stretching and heading towards the exit of their room. The former Haruno was left speechless for some good seconds, as the parts of her body that had been in contact with him slowly and sadly cooled down. Her eyes watched as he put his shirt back on, and it was only when he reached for the door that she finally realized what had happened.
“ You bastard!” She screamed, with her cheeks flushing in anger. She tried to turn as much as it was possible for her so she could see him, and when she succeeded, the only thing she managed to see was that cocky smirk of his decorating his features.
Sasuke had just tricked her into staying home, and she would not forgive him for that. Not for changing her words and definitely not for using such low strategy. He was going to pay, for sure.
“ Hn, get some rest. I’ll call the Dobe so he won’t go to the hospital today.”
“ You’ve tricked me!”
“ Also, I’ll prepare some tea for you. Don’t push yourself too hard.”
“ I am going to kill you, Sasuke!” Her hand quickly slipped under her pillow, as she remained glaring at him. “ I am- Eh? Where is-“
Her eyes widened at the same time, as she shoved the pillow away. She was looking for her emergency kunai, but was surprised when she found nothing. Her expression, at first, showed shock, but as soon as she looked at him, anger returned.
He was definitely going to pay for all those things as soon as she got better.
“ Too slow.” He said, swinging the kunai around his index.
“ You… I will k- OUCH!” Her mind made her turn to grab the pillow so she could throw it at him, but her back simply didn’t allow her to do so. A sharp pain took over her body, and soon, she was curling herself down, trying to ease the pain. At that moment, her husband simply exited the room, with an amused smile playing on his lips.
God, she was really mad at him. Her entire body language screamed revenge, but instead of being afraid, Sasuke couldn’t help but think of how beautiful she is when her eyes are on fire like that. Sakura is stunning, she’s passionate and she’s all his for an entire day.
What else could a husband ask for, right?
And all it costed him was one, slow and warm piggyback ride.
