Nabbed an OCP (multicam) ACU at the thrift store the other day and on trying to style it I'm reminded of how bland it really is despite looking significantly better than the UCP digicam it replaced.

All the pockets and closures are definite improvements over the BDU pattern (despite losing some of the visual structure that gave the BDU such a strong silhouette) and I appreciate the upgrade to a zipper on a field shirt, but wearing it I just look like I'm wearing my older brother's castoffs from deployment or like I borrowed a boyfriend's jacket real quick.

I am glad that I can pick up OCP ACUs for cheap now, but this'll probably end up being my heavy use shirt for rolling around in the woods etc while I save my BDUs for when I want to put together *A Fit* instead.

I suppose the better look for surplus OCP now is a combat shirt, but I don't like how those feel on my skin. I'm sure this post will look ridiculous once OCP gets replaced by DNC 2 (this time even more visible under NV) and camo collectors in 70 years will froth at the mouth over the idea of using their favorite pattern as workwear because I found it on a rack for less than ten dollars.
