In memory of the late Cassandra Kiramman, I just want to talk about her relationship with her daughter real quick.

On the surface it seems like they didn’t get along. Like Cass was always disappointed by Cait, or that she was only ever the controlling megabitch that she is so often portrayed as in fanon. Granted, post-timeskip in S1, Cait had been avoiding her because of the disagreement in career choice. So I get it.

But I could always see that there was more to it.

Caitlyn is Cassandra’s weak spot. And Cass knows it, hates it, but can’t help it.

We get scenes of Cassandra saying one thing, with so much conviction. But as soon as Cait pipes in she caves.

She wanted to condemn Jayce for exploding their building. But Cait says “we have to help him” and she immediately changes her mind.

She was trying to reprimand her daughter after she came back from the undercity. And Cait says “the people are suffering” and she immediately offers to schedule a council meeting.

She very clearly disapproved of Vi, but as soon as Cait whipped out the puppy-dog eyes after Vi’s outburst at the council, she immediately switched to go get your girl, sweetie.

Cassandra put on a front, because of her reputations as a Kiramman and as a Councilor. So she talked so much shit, but this all got blown to the winds in the face of her love for her only daughter.
