I really think Dex was just used today to 1. get Spencer to vocalize what he hasn’t said out loud to Trina and 2. Get Trina to take off her kid gloves with Spencer. I think she’s done a great job of trying to navigate his feelings while still keeping it real with him (see gallery convo). This was like a last straw moment. He’s obviously not considering her feelings at all, so she made herself abundantly clear.

I can see that, and I technically agree. Though, there really is no reason for Dex to be the vector when the writers could be good at their job for once and let Sprina talk in an isolated heart-to-heart.
