read a horror novel at work (during my midnight shift where i drive home at midnight in the dark at midnight) and i was worried during the drive i would be really anxious thinking about the horror novel but luckily driving already makes me anxious so my anxiety was too preoccupied to remember the novel at all #anxietylifehack

#good idea generator #novel was the hollow places by t kingfisher. im serious abt working through the entire catalogue of t kingfisher books at the library #i liked it. i actually thought it would linger more but the ending wrapped it up quite neatly #like i feel like some horror ends (or tries to end) with its claws still in you #the only example i can think of is the ring but this is bc i dont read or watch enough horror to have better ones lol #but like yknow how at the end of the ring they show YOU the video. and so for the next 7 days youre like haha.. unless? noooo haha... unless #some are more subtle than that but still leave you with that feeling that by seeing it youre now involved #that whatever happened to them. it could happen to you.#which from a writing standpoint i am impressed with and from a reader standpoint it makes me feel sickkkkkk #anyway it wasnt like that so i wasnt worried about getting got by Them on my way home #extremely vivid skincrawling imagery though (complimentary)#im thinking about. the fucking bus.
