mtmte liveblog issue 22
oooh man, its time to feel some EMOTIONS!
I'm BACK after a hiatus, which was due in part to me getting my 1st dose of the covid vaccine! woohoo!
anyways, starting here w/issue 22....we have a great cover w/thunderclash, the legend himself
oof. the covers made me forget how much I don't like the art this issue...I hate to be mean to the artists but this art style just isn't doin it for me chief
god I love this issue though. the framing device of rewindâs movie is so so fantastic
tailgate listing off all his fake awards/accomplishments....ilyÂ
rodimus my boy, you're a prime in my heart
the ânot a decepticonâ label for cyclonus is so much hvbhkjfbskjf
I literally wanna comment on every single panel bc I love all the characters so much but then id be here forever...that being said whirl ily smÂ
hvbjdfbhsfjhdfshja BRAINSTORMÂ âaccording to perceptor - ships geniusâ hvhdkjhbfhjs ily dumb gay idiot
and then the cut to perceptor after brainstorm like, blew up his lab vjbkdsfnbksjf dude
GODDDDDD drift âyour name...defines you. itâs your soul expressed in syllables. hm? oh, yes, sorry. itâs drift.â GOD heâs so fucking funny. I love early story hippy drift
god I cant stop thinking about how good this whole issue would be as an animated show...like, specifically rewinds film, it would be SO FUCKING GOOOOOOD mtmte show WHEN
rewiiiiind ;_; I fuckgin love rewind god. fellow video editing enthusiast....
ohhhh rodimus being embarrassed about his big speech at the beginning of mtmte....my boy I love u so much
gjhnbgehjsrkfbjksf magnus being suspicious of rewind oh my god. magnus ily but please, look at the lil guy, heâs a good boy, most of the time
the fuckgin footage that magnus removed hbvhakjbfhskf god. wasn't that intended to be footage of magnus dancing? I love him
minibot squad.....
and here it begins, the mystery stick rung question...
poor rung oh my god heâs just trying to polish his lil spaceship and people r throwing shit at him. taking Ls as per usual it seems
hand grenade tag hvbfjksdnfbkjdf love that callback
noooo rungs ship :(Â
magnusâs censorship vhbhadkjfhdbhjsakjhfn
oh man I forgot about how they met that race of Transformers But MoreÂ
the one-upsmanship hbvkajsbehfjks
whirrrrrl lmao I love whirl sm
goddddd whirl just killing that other alien and ending the 16 million yr long civil war bvkjsdbfhjjkafs so fucking much
oh god oh god the âare you happyâ page, I'm not emotionally equipped to handle this like, ever
but I will say I feel like it would be EVEN MORE oof if it were milne or someone drawing it bc I feel like this art style takes away from some of the impact bc the expressions aren't really that...expressive? idk how to put it
anyways. every single answer destroys me!!! like even the happy ones, like chromedome and rewind and tailgate - well, in present time, none of those three are doing so hot, so that makes this just hurtÂ
and rung....that is so fucking depressing. jesus. this guy is so fuckng sad, somebody get him a friend stat
and swerve...ouch. this readthru I've really noticed how much early-mtmte swerve is not-so-subtly like, crying out for help bc heâs so alone and shit. jesusÂ
also brainstorms response is just plain ole sad w/context, but at this point in the story without context, it just seems very foreboding lmao. I'm realizing this readthru that brainstorm is very sketchy and ominous in a particular âis he evil?â mad scientist sorta way in early mtmte
and then everyone else is also just so OOF in their own unique sad ways, but I think the worst out of everyone is drift....GODDDDDD. especially considering that at this point in the story, drift is this kinda goofy hippy guy, so seeing him just sit there with his face in his hand, not even answering the question...AND knowing that shortly after this heâll end up banished...IT FUCKING HURTS M8!
meanwhile, the more upbeat âquest to see rungs alt modeâ continues...with an âalt mode partyâ vhbadkjsdfnabskjf it looks so silly with a bunch of cars just sitting around a table lmao
I cant even tell who everyone is bc they so rarely turn into cars n shit lmaooooooÂ
rodimus with the bucket on his head hbvhakjbfskjf I CANT
everyoneâs reactions to thunderclash...i fucking love it
the fact that TAILGATE doesn't hate him, even though weâve seen that tailgate tends to dislike people who are universally liked/who have achieved a lot of impressive things
rodimus you petty thot vbdkjbfdjhsakjdf ily
RODIMUS IS SO FUNNYYYYYYÂ âI'm not making all these sacrifices and leading these guys into battle and being inspirational - I'm not doing that because it makes me look goodâ RODIMUS VBHSKJDFNBKSJF
thunderclash talking about magnusâs article on typefaces....hdbksjfsdbkjgfb bro
AND THEN MAGNUS HUGS HIM....HGBSKJFDSHFKD I CANT
POOR DRIFT bvhajkdfbhjkjsfd rodimus saying he ârehabilitated himâ oh my god
the whole spectralism thing...im sorry I cant get over how funny all this is vbakdjfbksjf thunderclash rlly b out here charming rodimusâs entire crew
and then ratchet comes in, calling tc âthunders,â and tc immediately notices ratchets new hands (somehow) hvbkjfhbskjf truly amazing
it cracks me up that rodimus is all đđ at thunderclash, even though as we come to find out, tc really IS That Perfect, and him complimenting rodimus isn't sarcasm at all lmao
AND THEYRE LOOKING FOR THE KNIGHTS OF CYBERTRON TOO HVSDHFJBSHKHDFJS OF COURSE
the vis vitalis being a life support machine spaceship is a really cool concept tho
ârescuing some orphans from an exploding sunâ I fucking cant
evil guy: [holds a gun to thunderclashâs head]Â
rodimus: :D finally something doesn't go his way!
heâs so petty Iâm..........dkdjhfdabhduifadijgl
and its the aliens from earlier! oooh
GODDD I forgot that swerve used rung in mystery stick mode to SCHWACK the guy
rung casually dropping the fact that the functionists like, experimented on him...there's a lot of implications there, and that'll certainly be explored more later...
the fact that his ID card says ârongâ hvbhjakhdsbfakhsjfnÂ
oughufadkfujbsfk the circle of light throwing wrenches n shit at skids...guys cmon vbhsdjkfnslfd
the circle of light is like âwtf you all have trauma and a bunch of weird unhealthy coping mechanisms this is wack byeeeeeâ lmao
skids calling the lost light his home is rlly sweet tho
cant believe the religious space hippy cult is being so rude about a film made by a guy who died like a week ago. unrealÂ
cd finally figured out how to make the pffft sound, good for him
AUGHHHHH the fact that rewind used âlittle victoriesâ as the title of the film and that's something that chromedome said in the video ;_; I'm fucking inconsolableÂ
rodimus, despite his obvious posturing for the camera during the whole issue, comes off as surprisingly genuine when he says that he hasn't thought about his own future much, but wants the crew to have a happy ending....im gonna cry
âwho knows what's around the corner?â tailgate, PLEASE don't say that, oh my god,Â
OUGHHHH GROUP SHOTÂ
OHHH mannnnNNNNN i love this issue SO MUCH. what a good fun emotional rollercoaster wrap-up to mtmte s1. god.Â
like, this issue has it all - humor, drama, crippling sadness, intrigue, worldbuilding...itâs so excellentÂ
and getting to see rewind again hurts so bad but also I love him
ok quick mtmte s1 retrospective...god s1 is so fucking good. I'm gonna have to read more to say which chunk of mtmte I liked best but s1 is so fucking excellent that it might be my favorite. though its hard to pick bc there's so much good stuff later on too...whatever, the point is s1 is so so good
the plotlines and characters are fucking stellar. like I cant even believe how well Everything works, its very impressive. I cant really think of anything major that made me go âyeah could've done without that plotline/characterâ
I love how dedicated jro is to connecting everything. I've mentioned it before but basically every single moment in the series has payoff - what you initially think is just a funny moment, or a fluffy character establishment bit, ends up ALSO being an important plot point later, in some way
an example would be here w/rung and his alt mode - it just seems like a fun little B-plot for this issue, and seems to pretty neatly conclude with the reveal that rung was eventually classified as an âornamentâ (lmao)...but we later on get to see a lot more about this, both here and in the functionist universeÂ
and like, stuff like tailgateâs autobot lessons w/magnus - at first that can be seen as purely character establishment stuff, showing that magnus is a strict rule-lover and tg is a loveable try-hard good boy - but that becomes plot relevant in remain in light, with tailgate saving the day due to his knowledge of the autobot code (and its also character relevant, with magnusâs arc in remain in light).Â
and I know this is like. a normal regular thing in writing, but I'm just very impressed about how cleanly jro pulls it off, and how many things heâs juggling at once, especially in early mtmte - itâs very ambitious!
and we gotta remember, this is a comic book. I've read a lot of comic books, and the quality is all over the place. a lot of writers bite off more than they can chew, and the story ends up kinda scattered as a result.Â
another thing I see a lot in franchise writing like this is a lack of strong early character establishing due to the author assuming the readers are at least somewhat familiar with the characters already - which can be totally fair depending on where it is in the continuity, but other times it can come off as lazy
in mtmte, the cast is extremely well fleshed out, and not only that, the cast itself is unique in that there are a lot of relative unknowns (franchise-wise) - which I think was an absolutely brilliant move, because then jro was able to essentially create The Definitive Version of these characters - characters like swerve, brainstorm, chromedome, rewind, tailgate...mtmte is their baseline characterization, because they haven't really appeared in much else
this also allows for deviation from the franchise norms - again, a comic book classic is good writing being stifled by a need to stick to a certain status quo regard the characters, the world, the powers, relationships, etc
(I've mostly read DC comics, and some marvel, so I'm thinking superheroes w/all these comic comparisons)
so mtmte had a good recipe for genuine creativity in that the characters were relative unknowns, the plot was basically âspace road trip,â the status quo of âautobot vs decepticon warâ had been demolished throughout the entire franchise...so jro was able to take all that and run, and it turned out so fantastic
and luckily it isn't over yet! so many comics suffer from premature cancellation...and sadly mtmte/ll isn't exempt from this, as weâll see later, but I've seen some awful ones, where comics are forced to wrap up in like 2 issues while in the middle of an arc. yikes.Â
but another comic staple...one of my least favorite things about comics books in general...something that was basically responsible for driving me away from comics after reading a bunch...the dreaded crossover event
yep, even mtmte isn't immune to this unfortunate plague on the comic industry. crossover events are the absolute worst, and I'm saying this as somebody who adores crossovers (in concept more than execution usually). they SHOULD be my favorite, but unfortunately they p much always completely suck
they're essentially a ploy to get you to read the other ongoing titles, but they usually only serve to bog down whatever story you're reading to the point where you don't even wanna read that one anymore, let alone read all the other ongoings. at least, thatâs been my experienceÂ
it doesn't help that reading orders tend to be hard to find/keep track of, and that you need to go read the other series to know what's going on. I just hate it, like, I came here to read THIS series, I don't want a bunch of other series showing up too - even if I was reading two series, I wouldn't want them crossed over, because they're separate stories! augh!
I'm totally losing my focus here but my point is...crossover events suck, and mtmte unfortunately is involved in one. I have not read dark cybertron, and I'm not about to. I've heard nothing but bad things so I have no desire to inflict that upon myselfÂ
soooo ill be reading through the tfwiki articles for those issues to give myself a better understanding of what went on - which is more than I've ever done in the past - and maybe ill even make a single post summarizing my thoughts on what I read in the wiki, lmao
but yea ill be skipping to the mtmte s2 stuff nextÂ
phew ok I'm super tired, my vision keeps blurring out and stuff lmao. its time for bed, I probably have more thoughts but ill save them for later. for now...peace out!

(( Obv Iâve been thinking abt a p.ersona 5 AU bc thatâs who i am so im just gonna dump all the ideas i got in here & futz and add later or something idk i make aus via the âthrowing spaghetti at the wall to see what sticksâ method
also just bc this has been a problem lately & i lack the energy to deal w things after the fact rn: pls personals do NOT reblog my posts ^^ ))
Manfred
Manfred absolutely has a Palace. Look at him.
The detention center / prison, courthouse, and prosecutorâs office all appear distorted, but Iâm gonna go with the courthouse being the kinda âcenterâ and being where his Treasure actually is.
The detention center / prison looks like an extensive trophy room commemorating all of his won cases. The trophies tend to have design elements that hint at the damning evidence and crime in question while also having the name of the defendant in question somewhere. All of them are gold, except for the one representing the IS-7 case. That one is a bronze and notably smaller in size.
Both the courthouse and the prosecutorâs office appear as temples that worship him as a god. The office is a bit more like a bustling hub of priests that are incredibly incompetent. The courthouse is grand and opulent with perfectly sculpted marble statues and busts of him.
Thereâs a slight infestation of insects which all have a pattern similar to the defense attorney badge. They mostly scurry and run away from just about everything. The Shadows take the form of judges, prosecutors, bailiffs, and detectives.
Safe Rooms correspond to defense lobbies.
There is a depiction of the DL-6 Incident actively showing Manfred shooting Gregory, but the style frames it more as a heretic being righteously smote than the reality of an unconscious man being shot by a petty fossilized man child.
There are cognitive versions of both Miles and Franziska and neither of them are great. Cognitive Franziska actually still appears as child and would fight any intruders but, due to Manfredâs low opinion of her and her capabilities, she actually cannot win. Cognitive Miles is dressed in that horrid Manfred-style red suit but like resembles Gregory to a much higher degree than Miles actually does.
The Treasure is held in a large, central courtroom. In the Metaverse, it is a golden, weighed scale and, once brought out, is a prosecutorâs badge.
Also you bet him as a boss utilizes a lot of Electricity skills. Also some Gun skills. What can I say, Iâm not that subtle.Â
KAY
Kay vc: i can steal shit AND have superpowers?????? hell yeah!!!!
100% agree with @flairer Kay would be Sun Arcana with Yatagarasu P.ersona absolutely no doubt letâs go
Have nothing firm on how they actually.... get there???? Maybe during the Quercus Alba nonsense.
tfw an ambassador keeps flaunting diplomatic immunity so u just gotta come into incredible power to force the bastard to admit to murder himself
also just Akechi: my codename is Crow Kay: absolutely not u MaskâDeMasque lookin motherfucker
not that im really trying to super integrate w the existing team, but kay was extremely offended by akechiâs codename choice & i have to share that
KLAVIER
Tragically started thinking that after Turnabout Succession, Klavier would develop a Palace due to worsening paranoia and lack of healthy coping.Â
The distortion does cover the entire city... kinda? The thing is that Klav is very âthe whole worldâs a stageâ in an absolutely unhealthy way. The layout and buildings are retained but it has the vibe of a music festival or other celebration?
Everything leads toward the courthouse though, which is 100% a very large and elaborate stage. Itâs hard to notice from the ground, but a tightrope is suspended way, way above it. There is no safety net below it. Just the cold, hard stage.
Shadow Klavier is always in the middle of a concert on that stage and the crowd oddly alternates between vicious heckling and overwhelming praise. It turns on a dime and seems to have nothing to do with the actual performance.
Various cognitive versions of familiar faces exist in the Palace and perfectly match the mannerisms / personalities of the real counterparts... when talking to any Thieves. If the subject of Klavier comes up, though, they tend to grow more harsh and disparaging toward him.
Cognitive Miles has the role of a manager and at first attempts to discourage any interaction with Shadow Klav because it might distract him and ruin the show. He immediately relents, however, with the thought that heâs always wanted to fire Klavier and so any mishaps with the show would be the perfect excuse.
Shadow Klav isnât that overly aggressive, but there are still traps and Shadows swarming the area. While he is certainly civil, he does not hide his mistrust at all and can be surprisingly gloomy, though is somewhat like Shadow Futaba in that heâll drop cryptic hints or express support for the Thievesâ actions. Â
I love the idea of Klavier getting pulled into his own Palace due to Shenanigans⢠and Cognitive Nick sees him and tells him heâs almost late for walking the tightrope and forces him toward it
Meanwhile Klav is just âwow idk what the hap is fuckening but my overwhelming sense of guilt compels me to do whatever Wright(?) says so i guess im abt to do a very dangerous stunt that will most certainly end in my deathâ
Shadow Klav does a very aggressive intervention because he does contain Klavierâs wish to help people. He insists that Klavier cannot survive living solely like heâs a product to be consumed and destroyed. A ticking time bomb of contradictory desires based on unknowable perceptions.
Meanwhile, Cognitive Nick grows more twisted and manipulative and begins to viciously antagonize and guilt-trip the hesitating Klavier. The crowd likewise grows more and more restless and demanding of a spectacle. Still, whether the crowd wants Klavier to succeed or fail is hard to determine.
Also like Manfred having a Palace kinda implies Nick as a Thief too and the idea of Nick also being there and seeing that this is how Klavier sees him is... oof ouch.
But yeah Shadow Klav is like âAre you going to continue to let yourself be chained to expectations? Even when it will kill you?â
Obv Klavâs like âyeah, you know what? I will live for my own damn self.â And comes into his P.ersona which is like... halfway unnecessary. Cognitive Nick is just an asshole... not exactly a giant fucking sphinx
Canât decide whether Klavâs Arcana is Death or Moon, though. I like Deathâs message of metamorphosis and change for him. But also Moonâs got fun bits about facades and fear.
Nick afterward: hey um... i just wanna say that im so- Klav: i finally have some capacity to be mad at you without feeling like the scum of the earth for doing so so im gonna be 100% unashamedly pissed for a while just... give me some time. also im abt to sleep for 1000 years because holy shit
And yeah itâs not a 100% fix and Klav still has paranoia and the unhealthy perspective of being a product for consumption but like... heâs got somewhat better footing to seek and accept help. And, likewise, does not have the subconscious desire to be hated so that he may self-destruct without guilt. So, like, thatâs a plus.
#(( me: long rambles for mvk & klav#me: 100% memes for kay#it's what they wouldve wanted ))#(( btw im having a Time⢠rn so sorry for the complete absence ))#just a witness | ooc#v { manfred }; an empire for the taking | persona 5 au#v { kay }; swatting lies in the making | persona 5 au#v { klavier }; on a razor's edge | persona 5 au

TFtCS: Scientific Standstill
Melissa darted across the street towards where she last saw the strange man, a stern gaze of determination plastered on her face as she charges through the bullet-hell monsoon. Her teeth grin as the powerful wind grabbed at the loose ends of her plastic cloak; at this point the poncho was only a restraint, so the aggravated wizard ripped it off like a layer of plastic skin, it being released and tossed around through the air until the black void of night consumed the vibrant yellow. A group of enforcer-craft soon hovered a few blocks back, most likely where theyâd meet up with Lynn.   âDammit!â Melissa shouted, determination and anger inflating her vocal chords. âVAAUBAN. SHOW YOURSELF.â She took a firm stand in the one-lane alley, foot stomping in a puddle, its wet contents splashing against her boot. Melissa balled her fists as a thin aura of purple engulfed her outline, yet despite its lack of thickness, the color was extremely opaque and potent, almost radiant. Her steps slowed; the sound of an opposing sprint coming to a halt. Her irises hadnât change color, but rather, they had multiplied. Between the magicianâs naturally-colored green eyes and her blackened pupils sat a thin ring. It was exactly the same as her aura: thin and opaque. As she slowly strolled north, a metal door to her left gave the tiniest creek, but this was still a conformation for the young woman. She aimed a hand at the door, opened it, and squeezed it once more. The staple-shaped emergency handle was crushed under the weight of Melissaâs magical power, the door being pried off from its upper hinge with extreme ease.   The sounds of wet, hard-sole boots clack against the concrete surface beneath and the door is aggressively slammed shut, a crack in the gateâs top barely revealing the outside world. It was pitch black, well, aside from the small amount of light Melissaâs body had been shining with. While her aura was a bold shade of light purple and could easily be seen from a distance, it still failed at acting as a colored flashlight. The man lunges up from behind one of the many metallic containers, a makeshift Harbinger pistol in hand. He fires, the charge of electrified plasmic matter brightening up the room with its blue-white energy. Under normal circumstances, a high voltage handgun wouldâve been enough to instantly kill an average armorless human, along with sending their body several feet away. However, Melissa merely backhands the dense ball of electrons, sending it into the iron wall to her left, the surface being slightly dented due to the amount of force. She grunts and approaches the man, grabbing him by the shirt collar, the patchy armor over his body in a similar design to the gun; old Harbinger metals, silver and sleet, chipped away at the ends, rusty bolts holding its form together.   âM-MelissaâŚ! W-what brings yaâ around here?â Vaauban forces out a fearful laugh, his artificial eye darting around the room with his biological one. Melissa grunts and tightens her grip, lifting the scrawny man up from the ground, her aura of neon color seemingly thicker as it flutters a white hue. âGah! Alright-alright-alright! What-do-you-want!?â His voice echoes through the closed shop, they both being concealed in the back room.   âJust what in THE FORERUNNERâS GOD DAMN NAME are you doing here!?â The fist squeezes, leaving Vaauban with barely little air as heâs indirectly choked. âLet me guess, you want to do just what you did to New Harmony? I should just kill you here and now.â The glow outlining Melissaâs unused right arm flames to a point, sharpening to a single, arched end, almost like some kind of elongated sickle of desaturated purple.   âWAIT-WAIT-WAIT!â The old enemy aggressively wiggles and shakes in the wizardâs grasp, afraid for his life. âCâmon, itâs me! Good olâ Doctor Gallagher!â She cocks back her arm, teeth grinding with hate-filled anticipation. âM-Melissa! Weâre both wise Harbinger doctors, surely we can be civil!â The magician looks down, her eyes shaded from what little brightness was in play.   âNo⌠The Vaauban Gallagher I know died a long time ago⌠Youâre no New World Harbinger, youâre a TRAITOR!â The woman swings, but finds her surely-swift movement to be rudely interrupted. The city, no, the whole planet rumbles beneath her feet. She drops the man, then covers her ears as a ping of sound echoes across the worldâs atmosphere, masking the sound of enforcer sirens that approached from the distance. âSHIT! Iâve been using it for too long!â Vaauban goes into a sprint for the only remaining door, dashing to get into another portion of the store. Melissa lifts one arm from her head, trembling under pain as she struggles to form a circular barrier around the surviving exit. Her aura of power begins to dissipate, becoming translucent as she becomes ever-more weaker. A sudden burst of plasma stuck the woman along her face, registering her nearly blind.   âListen Mel, I like you and all, but Iâve got a feeling that if who I think just entered the orbit really is that person, well, they might like you more than me.~â The purple circle fuzzes away, letting Vaauban easily walk right through its once-protective body like mere fog. âI know your weaknesses; no vision, no grasp over your power. Now if youâll just hand over the Shard, well, Iâll be on my merry way.~â He extends his free hand, HV-Handgun still being tightly kept in the counter. Despite the clear threat against her very own life, Melissa takes the situation quite oddly. Chuckles leave the downed womanâs maw as she looks up with a pair of beady, useless eyes.   âV, youâre pretty dumb for a doctor; you know that?â The metal door that had been previously broken was met with powerful kicks from the reverse side, leading to a sudden jump from the man. âI have two friends with me. Oneâs a self-trained comissionist, and the other a retired Nullifier unit, so Iâd get a move-on.~â Vaauban growls from the extensive pool of fury that found its way inside of him.   âThis wonât be the last time youâll see me Melissa!â The scientist makes a break for the only free door, his broken, Harbinger armor clattering as the metal opening slams shut. Just as the criminal makes his escape, Davyâs robotic fist impacts on the opposing side of the sealed gate, sending the sheet of metal flying across the room. As the door is punched-in, the captain lunges forward, most likely from the abrupt amount of abnormal thrust that her extremedy generated. Behind her are Lynn and several Enforcers, some human, some not. Their armor is decorated with colors of deep blues, along with multiple tints of yellow and gold. In their arms are multiple same-modeled Impact Blast Cannons, assault rifle-esque machine guns that work more with strength and raw force, rather than the electronic pulse that Vaaubanâs HV-Handgun had to offer.   âHaha! I did it!â Davy poses atop the collapsed wall piece, her legs both split, one taking a knee and the other extended while her metal arm held down against itâs abused surface. The shaking becomes evermore violent, causing the redhead pirate to collapse down onto her knees. âOkay, look. We gottaâ gettaâ move-on, now!â   âDavyâs right! Listen, I have NO IDEA what in the worldâs goinâ on here, but we need to go, NOW.â Lynn leans over and tightly grabs Melissaâs wrist, lifting her from the ground like a fallen soldier, her synthetic palm reassuring to the blinded female. âWaitâŚâ Suddenly, the rampant shaking ceases. All is quiet in the city as thousands of flying cars all rest on the ground, the portion of the city that the protagonists have found themselves in not as empty as it once was. Davy, Lynn, and Melissa, along with the group of Enforcers all exit the structure with haste, the police heading in the direction in which Vaauban evaded. The three remaining trying to see just where the boom of sound originated from through the metal hedges that made the urban setting. Nothing. All was quiet.   Another forceful shockwave suddenly juts out from Hammerspace, followed by one of the largest spacecrafts that any of them has ever seen, something that they have only seen few times before. The ship was ridiculous in size, taking up nearly the entire sky as a fleet surrounds it. Hundreds, possibly thousands of Vanguard frigates blip into existence around the colossal beast.   âIs thatâŚâ Melissa begins to speak, still being able to see the gigantic foreign object due to its shear magnitude, even with terrible vision.   âThe Hammerhead ConclaveâŚâ Lynn finishes, staring up with an open, white-pupiled eye. She stares in a masked awe; the Hammerhead was a Vanguard ultimate-class ship- one of only three in existence. âDoes this mean-â   âHELL YEAH!â Davy shouts down the corridor-like streets, her excited voice echoing for an undistinguishable distance. âBrotherâs here!â Triumphant, childish laughs escape the bold woman as her hands straighten and raise into the air, almost as if her new idolâs mere entrance is something to party about. Suddenly, the air heated up and everything slowed down, coming to a complete halt after ten seconds or so. Melissa looked to her left and right, jumping at how time had come to a seamless stop before her. An orange orb flew over from the invisible half of the hammerhead, it heading right towards the young wizard. Directly in front of her the figure landed, its torso twisting and rotating before falling to a knee, the other leg propped up with a hand held against its upper portion. The glow faded, leaving Brother in its place. He looked up towards the mobile Melissa, his singular eye scanning her body as his thick, orange aura pulsated. The many grooves in his metallic wires also pumped with the fluid-esque substance.   âSo.â His voice boomed through the soundless city as he honed in on the singular human. âLooks like I was right.â He stares and speaks in a flattened tone, clearly disappointed, whether in the woman or himself seemingly unknown.   âW-whatâs going on here!? Why has everything just stopped all of a sudden!?â The tiny, frightened organic began to panic, darting over from object to object for a quick, yet deep inspection on any kind of mobility.   âAhh⌠So youâre unaware of the Armamentsâ properties⌠Allow me to explain. My crew had managed to detect a small, sudden eruption of Lunar Polarity coming from this exact location. We had a hunch that it couldnât have been Sister, well, that was until the source of energy grew to unholy proportionsâŚâ Melissa stops running, looking up to the crouched Sapient as his soft, British tone explained with melancholy.   âDammit Vaauban!â Her hands became fists along the purple robe that she bad been baring, only to be stammered in her tracks. âWait, so why exactly is everything frozen?â   â... The Armaments have time-based powers, as you would probably know. This allows those powerful enough to have some control over time, the more of the Armament, the slower they can change progression. Despite this, all who have a Shard are in relative time with the slowdown.â His upper eyelid lowers, its left and right corners lifted higher than the center as his right arm lifts and extends, palm up. âGive me the Shard that you bare, and weâll pretend that you didnât steal and use a military superweapon. Fair?â He sits with little movement, leaving Melissa time to observer her own, much smaller appendage. A small piece of some strange, otherworldly symbol fizzles into her hand from Hammerspace, it being the blue shrapnel that the High General desired. âI donât care that Iâm Vanguard and youâre Harbinger; we both hate our enemy just as much, so help me keep her from gaining this power.â Brotherâs eye turned back into its uninterrupted shape, a luminescent, red circle of compassion and sympathy.   â...â Melissa stared at the floating object as it dropped into her fleshy palm, looking like nothing more than an old piece of metal that had been ripped from vehicular disposal. It was tiny, but the amount of power that could be siphoned from its depths was unimaginable. âNo.â She boldly claimed, the end of her limb now clenching back whole with the piece of hardened material protected in the confines of her fingers. âListen, I can understand why youâd want this, but Iâve kept this Shard of Luna protected for three years. Even though Sister wants my friends and I, Nemesis will surely be back for Davyâs blood, and without any Shards, we won't be able to stop her.â Eyes lift up from the unphased road, Melissa now looking dead into the godly robotâs visionary orb with her own. âIf handing this over means risking my friendsâ lives⌠Well I refuse to just hand this over. Kill me if you need to, but keeping my friends, my family, my Davy⌠It means keeping them safe.â Her chest swells with a huge breath, the sound of air leaving through her nose being the only audio left to leave the human. She was scared, possibly even horrified! Brother could easily kill her if he wanted to, and could definitely get away with it. However, he merely closes his eye and lowers his hand, a sigh of both disappointment and fatherliness escaping from his metallic, energy-making lungs.   âMcGregor. During the war, I wished nothing but your very demise; all Vanguard did. Iâm well aware of who you really are, even if your friends arenât. But I believe that your intentions are true, and while saying this breaks literally every single line that Iâve been told to followâŚâ The eye opens, well-relaxed accompanied by a gentle sound of relief. âIâm actually going to trust you. But if you lose your Shard of Luna, or anything happens to your accomplices⌠the punishment will be most severe. Am I understood?â She simply stares down at the item, taking half a minute just to look back up at the superior force of nature. A smirk dawns upon her face, closed lips and a thankful look meeting the High General, followed by a reassuring nod of the head.   âYes Sir, but letâs agree to keep this a secret, alright?â   âAgreed.â
