Social interaction is so nebulous and weird

Especially things like haggling or flirting or basically any interaction that doesn't have a script or involves going off-script or everyone involved pretending something isn't happening. The sort of thing that falls apart if you say something like "To be clear, I'm bribing you to do this and you're accepting my bribe, yes?" Not that I would ever even try to bribe a stranger. It sounds super confusing

So like...everything but interactions with cashiers where it's "How's it going?" "Good. How's it going?" "That'll be $8.50" "Thanks. Have a good one." "You too"

Which I once sat in a parking lot rehearsing and then just gave up and went home because it got all tangled up in my head. And which I avoid by using self check-outs whenever possible

So just EVERYTHING, I guess
