"ㅤeyes widening slightly as their gaze flits across the dishes set out before them, byan is, admittedly, taken aback by the amount of food. even when they have had proper meals in the past, it's never really been this much, and certainly not this varied. they almost feel out of place sitting here with all of it laid out like this, free for them to eat — it feels like some mistake has been made, like it was meant for someone else and ended up on the table in front of them by accident.

even so, they're certainly not about to slink away just because they don't feel deserving of it. they're starving, and food is food — if it's within arm's reach, they're having some, especially when it all smells so incredible. they know exactly where to start, too; snatching a set of chopsticks off the table, the teen immediately makes a move for the dumplings, an undisguised eagerness sparkling in their eyes. no bite is taken, they're shoving the entire dumpling into their mouth in one go.

ㅤㅤ" holy shit. "ㅤthe words come out before they've even finished chewing, no hand raising to cover their mouth while they speak as they're already grabbing for a second dumpling. it's good, they mean to say (it's amazing, actually), but the comment is forgotten in favour of aggressively stuffing the next piece of food past their lips. soon enough, their chopsticks are set aside and they're grabbing for a spoon in its stead, their attention set on the soondubu. whatever (limited) inhibitions they might have had before, whatever fear of looking too desperate, it's officially out the window now thanks to the flavour of those pork dumplings — byan is diving in like a starved stray, shovelling the stew into their mouth with a series of appreciative, if incomprehensible, mumbles.
