mi amor — [p.jackson]
pairing: percy jackson x reader
wordcount: 1.7K
warnings: there’s no happy ending (and there’s not gonna be a part two)
“y/n!”
I turned, hearing my name called out. My eyes fixed on Simon, my prom date. I’d had a crush on him for about a month, I think. He was super nice, and we hung out at lunch sometimes.
Anyway, he’d asked me to go to the prom with him a few days again. I was thrilled, of course, since prom was the day after tomorrow, and I’d been a little worried I wouldn’t have a date. There was nothing more embarrassing then not having a date to prom.
“What’s up?” I said, as Simon began walking next to me in the hallway. We squeezed past a couple making out against a locker, and I stopped at my locker, twisting the combination lock. I pulled open the door, digging through my copybooks.
Simon hesitated, looking everywhere but me. “Well, y/n, the thing is…” He trailed off, rubbing the back of his neck and gazing down the hallway.
I frowned. “What is it? You can tell me.”
He finally locked eyes with me. They were a deep brown, almost black, the same colour as his hair. Dark, dark brown. “I can’t go to prom with you,” he whispered.
My vision tunnelled. “What?” I stammered. “But- but, why?” My books spilled to the floor.
“I only asked you so that the girl I like would get jealous.” Simon shrugged. “And hey, it worked. Alicia and I are each other’s dates.”
I swallowed, trying to keep a straight face. “Um… okay.” My voice sounded small, even to me. “That’s… that’s great, I guess. I’m happy for you.”
Simon cracked a grin. “Thanks. No hard feelings?”
I nodded, my gaze dropping to the floor in front of me. I heard Simon walk away; I heard the bell ring for class. I stood stock-still for who knows how long, until the entire corridor was empty. Then, my knees gave way, and I slid to the ground, my head in my hands.
I was crushed. I didn’t even care about the fact that now I didn’t have a date to prom, but I’d been used! Simon hadn’t even liked me at all; I was just a tool to get with the girl he actually liked. I’d never had anything like this happen to me before. It hurt.
I couldn’t help it; I began to cry. Silent sobs shook my body. I kept my face buried in my hands, unable to do anything else.
I took a shaky breath, my ribs aching. I felt a hand on my shoulder, causing me to glance up hurriedly. I wiped my tears with the back of my hands, blinking them away.
The hand belonged to someone I did not want to see right now. Sea green eyes were staring down into mine, twinkling with his usual mischievous expression.
“What’s wrong, mi amor?” Percy Jackson asked, kneeling on the ground in front of me.
I pushed his arm away. “Go away, Percy.”
He moved his hand, but didn’t leave. “Are you… crying?”
My jaw tightened. “Yes. And it’s none of your freaking business, okay? Just—“ My voice broke. “Just leave me alone. I’m fine.”
I turned my head away. This was just perfect. Percy and I had been rivals for forever. Our families had never gotten along, so Percy and I are just kind of automatically got into it, too. This was all I needed; Percy finding me like this. He’d almost certainly use it against me.
Percys eyes narrowed. “Okay. No need to be rude, darling.”
“Don’t call me that,” I snapped.
He raised his hands in defence as he rose. “Okay, okay! Fine. Bye, mi amor.” He turned and headed down the hallway. I didn’t even wonder why he wasn’t in class yet. What I was wondering was the definition ‘mi amor’ was. I was too lazy to google it. I’d just ask my best friend later.
Knowing Percy, it was just yet another way to get on my nerves without seeming the least bit cruel or vindictive to outsiders.
“You look terrible,” my best friend, Annabeth Chase, commented when I slid next to her in class. She’d saved me a seat, even though the class was over halfway through by the time I finally turned up. I guess I’d just run out of tears.
I shrugged. “Simon dumped me. Turns out, he was just using me to get with Alicia.”
Annabeth’s eyes widened. “Oh… I’m sorry.”
I made a face. “Thanks, Beth. It’s okay. I’m okay. It’s totally fine.” I turned my eyes to the blackboard, then dropped them to the worksheet in front of me. “Literally none of this makes any sense.”
Annabeth rolled her eyes. “It’s just maths. It’s not actually that hard if you know what you’re doing.”
I looked at her. “Well… yeah. But I don’t know what I’m doing.”
She chuckled. “Okay. True. Do you want help or just the answers?”
I rubbed the spaces between my eyes and nose. “Today, just the answers. I can’t deal with math today.”
Annabeth studied me. “Did anything else happen? You seem really tense.” Her voice took on a different tone. “Did something happen with… Percy?”
I glared at her. “First, yes. How’d you know? Second, not in the way you think, at all.”
Annabeth smirked. “You know you’re hopelessly in love with each other.”
I shoved her. “You’re literally his prom date, Beth. And, uh, hell to the no. I hate him.”
“People change!” Annabeth said, before I hit her again.
“Okay, sorry,” she squeaked. “Are you gonna tell me what happened?”
“Are you gonna stop teasing me as if I like Percy?” I countered, slamming my palm on the desk.
“Quiet!” The teacher hissed. I jumped, and slumped down in my seat, looking embarrassed.
Annabeth waited. I looked at her and sighed. “Fine. He found me after Simon did it. I was crying in the locker area, and um, he asked if I was okay.”
Annabeth raised her eyebrows. “See?” she whispered fiercely, waving her hand about. “He’s totally in love with you, too!”
I gave her the most withering look I could. “Annabeth, respectfully please shut the hell up.”
She tried to hide her smile, and promptly failed. “Fine. Okay.”
I sighed. “Oh, by the way, I’ve been meaning to ask you. What does ‘mi amor’ mean?”
Annabeth gave me a sideways glance. “Why…?” she asked slowly. “Has someone called you that?”
“Yeah,” I groaned. “Percy freaking Jackson, that’s who. Do you know what it means? I’m honestly just too lazy to look it up.”
“Yeah,” Annabeth said, still talking slow. “I do know.”
I raised my eyebrows at her expectantly. “And…?”
Annabeth hesitated. “It means ‘my love’ in Spanish.”
I stared at her. “Um, are you sure?”
She nodded.
I waved my hand in a dismissive gesture. “Well, he always calls me darling and sweetheart in a teasing, flippant way, anyway, so I guess it’s just another name he’s adding to his collection.” I rolled my eyes. “Lucky me.”
Annabeth grinned wide. “Sure, sure. Teasing, and flippant.” Her voice took on the same tone as before, her slow, teasing one.
I narrowed my eyes at her in warning. “Absolutely not, Annabeth. I hate him, I always have. I don’t like him even as a person, let alone as anything more than that.”
She shrugged. “Okay. As you wish.”
The bell rang, signalling the end of class. Only one more class, and I could go home. Hopefully we didn’t get any homework. I suddenly remembered what class I had next. Science, with Mrs K. She always gave us homework, and it was usually projects with other people. I hated those more than anything.
“Good luck,” Annabeth said, reading my expression. “I’ll text you those math notes tonight.”
I gave her the thumbs up, and headed to my class. Our school always had a seven minute break between classes, because our hallways were pretty long and confusing. So, as usual, kids milled about, chatting and texting and making out. I wove my way through, switching books at my locker, and weaving my way to the science lab.
On the way, I got sidetracked because a kid had spilled milk all over the floor, and the duty teachers were freaking out, and not letting any kids walk around it. So, I had to go all the way outside and to the other entrance to the lab.
Of course, that made me late. I apologised to Mrs K, and quickly told her why I wasn’t on time.
“That’s fine, y/n,” she said graciously. She was actually a lovely lady, but she always gave us way too much homework, and always wanted us to ‘cooperate with each other’. “Just go find a seat. I think there’s one available next to Percy.”
Oh, great, I thought. Sure enough, almost all the seats were full, except for two: one beside the class clown, who always put his gum on people jackets, and Percy. For once, I preferred Percy.
I dumped my books on the desk and slid next to him on the bench. In the lab, the desks were joint as in all the other classrooms, but the chairs weren’t separated. They were small benches that were basically just a wide chair.
I sat right on the edge, as far from Percy as possible. I stacked my books and pencil case like a wall between us on the desk.
Percy shot me a playful glance. “Hey,” he said. I ignored him.
Throughout the lesson, he tried relentlessly to get my attention; poking me, whispering in my ear, writing little notes and sliding them under my arm, knocking his shoe against mine. I wilfully ignored all of his attempts.
Finally, class was coming to a close. Then, unfortunately, Mrs K decided to announce that, yes, we did indeed have homework.
Even worse, it was a group project. Partners, and we were not going to be allowed to choose our partners. Mrs K, had, in fact, already chosen them, and there was to be absolutely no changing or swapping or complaining.
I crossed my fingers. Please, I thought, please just don’t be Percy. Anyone but him.
“y/n y/l/n, and Percy Jackson.”
I slumped forward on the desk, resting my forehead on the cold wood, and squeezing my eyes shut in frustration. “Could this day get any worse?” I muttered to myself.

Sonic Adventure 2: Sonadow
Disclaimer: I don't own Sonic the Hedgehog. SEGA owns video games, comic books, TV series, and movies. This is going to be my second fanfic of Sonadow. I do hope you enjoy this story.
Chapter One: Project Shadow
San Francisco, Ca 1:30 PM
It was a peaceful day in San Francisco. The sun was shining, the wind was rustling through the trees along Main Street as people strolled down the street.
A blue streak zoomed down Main Street and headed straight toward the city. It was a blue hedgehog named Sonic, the heroic hedgehog that had saved countless lives over the years. Sonic zipped across the street toward his destination. He stopped by the hot dog stand and wanted to get himself a treat.
“Hey kid, what would you like for your hot dogs?” A tall, skinny man with an afro and a mustache stood behind the stall. He smiled at the hedgehog, and his eyes sparkled happily. “Your favorite is my special hot dog, right?”
“Yep! I’d like to have a chili dog if that’s okay.” Sonic replied.
He nodded, “Comin’ right up, buddy. Here ya go.” The man handed Sonic a chili dog and gave him his money. “Have fun on your way.” The man winked at Sonic as he put some money into the register for his chili dog.
He chomped up his chili dog and headed off toward where he needed to go next. After a few minutes of jogging, he stopped at the park across from the city center, which housed the park for many families during the summer months. The park was full of children playing and laughing. Most parents were out with their kids. Sonic sighed heavily when he thought about all of the adults around the town who didn’t realize how special life is, even though they lived it every day.
Sonic sat down on the bench overlooking the pond. His eyes scanned the pond, watching the fish swim by and listening to the birds sing on the oak tree nearby. He felt so relaxed, sitting under the shade of the tree, enjoying some peace. He sighed peacefully and let his eyes close as he took in this moment. He felt someone sitting next to him, he cracked one eye open to see this pink hedgehog in a red dress. It was Amy Rose.
“What are you doing here, Amy?” asked Sonic.
Amy shrugged her shoulders, “Just hanging out here. I just wanted to take some time to relax and not think about anything stressful today. You know, just take a break,”
“Yeah, I guess so. How’s it been lately? Are you happy?” Sonic asked. His eyes were still closed, but now he could see Amy clearly.
Her short hair swayed back and forth in the breeze, and her emerald green eyes sparkled softly in the sunlight. She was beautiful in everything she did. Even though she wasn’t really the most attractive girl in the whole world, she still made other girls swoon. The same went for Sonic, too.
"Well, I'm happy because we can get married," Amy said with a smile, her cheeks turning slightly pink, "And you can be my husband." Amy wrapped her arms around Sonic's shoulders and gave him a tight squeeze, causing her skirt to flare out.
"Uh, Amy, shouldn't we talk more about this?" Sonic blushed nervously.
"No, I need to tell you this. I want to marry you because I love you," Amy leaned in closer and tried to kiss Sonic on the lips. But, Sonic moved away slightly, causing Amy to stop kissing him.
"Why are you moving back? We should kiss!" Amy whined.
"You're moving forward!" Sonic insisted. “We can only be together if you don’t move forward. I’m sorry, Amy. But I can’t do this anymore…” Sonic slowly got to his feet. "I've gotta go. Bye, Amy…" he ran off as fast as he could, leaving Amy alone.
Amy sat there in stunned silence. What happened? Why was Sonic rejecting her? Wasn't she pretty enough for him? Or maybe he just didn’t care. But why wouldn’t he care about her? Amy couldn't help but start to feel hurt. Maybe he liked another girl. Maybe he never loved her in the first place. All Amy cared about was being together with him forever. That was all she ever thought about. And suddenly he broke up with her.
She started to sob as tears filled her eyes. She didn't understand.
Sonic went to Tails' house, hoping his brother would have some answers to this problem. Sonic knocked on the door, Tails opened the door, then stepped aside, letting Sonic inside his room.
"Hey, Sonic," he greeted his friend.
“Tails, I messed up again. I messed things up between me and Amy. I’m not really sure what she wants me to do,” Sonic said in a worried tone.
"What happened?" Tails asked.
"She said she wanted to get married, but I'm not doing that," said Sonic.
"Wow... you really screwed yourself over big time, didn't ya, dude?" Tails sighed, trying to figure out what to say next.
"Do I have another choice though? I mean, I could always run away again, but I’ve already lost everything once. And now this. I can’t keep running from something that’s going to end eventually..." Sonic looked down.
"Look, Sonic," Tails began, "Amy's probably gonna be real mad at you, but I'll try to make sure she doesn't hate you forever. And, well... she can be immature sometimes, I’ll admit. But you have to give her a chance, dude. Don't bail on her just yet."
"That's easy for you to say, Tails. You've known her longer than me. I'm just scared... scared that I'm wrong for her. If it was anyone else, I'd consider marrying them. But Amy... She's different, Tails. She makes me happy. And she deserves better. But I don't want to screw our relationship up." Sonic shook his head sadly.
"I know how you feel, bro, trust me. But I'm sure this will blow over soon. Just give it some time," said Tails.
Sonic nodded, "Yeah, I guess so,"
Suddenly, there was a loud boom outside followed by several flashes. Tails frowned and turned toward the window as the flashing continued. There was a huge explosion in front of the building. It appeared to be coming from the direction of Central Park. There was a huge robot destroying their city, destroying everyone in sight. They could barely escape alive after that. The robots were everywhere. Everyone seemed to be running as far away from them as possible. The robots blasted everything within their path. The buildings collapsed into piles of rubble. Cars were smashed, and houses were destroyed.
Sonic and Tails got out of the house, and see the figure inside the robot. It was Eggman, the villain who had done such terrible things to the earth for the last six years. He flew above the destruction, his robot hovering above the ground. The robot fired its laser beam into the streets. Buildings crumbled and collapsed into dust.
"I'll stop him. Tails, watch over the town while I go fight him," said Sonic.
Tails nodded and smiled brightly, "Okay! Be careful out there!" Tails waved as he watched his best friend leave through the door.
Sonic used his super speed to run across the street toward the robots, he rolled himself like a ball and smashed these robots to pieces. Sonic jumped back onto the sidewalk and ran along the sidewalk looking for Eggman. It was clear that he had already taken control of the entire city. Sonic could hear screaming and people crying for help. People and animals were fleeing the area while some stayed in their homes or hid somewhere until the robots left. Eggman noticed him.
"Stupid, little hedgehog! I have come here to destroy you, but now you won't let me!" yelled Eggman.
Eggman shot another blast of lasers at Sonic. He dodged the laser blasts and landed on top of an abandoned car. He leaped up to the roof of the car and climbed to the roof. As Eggman fired his laser attack again, Sonic ducked behind an overturned vehicle.
He saw that Eggman was preparing for another blast, and quickly leaped across to the opposite side of the roof. Once again, Eggman fired at the hedgehog and Sonic jumped up, grabbing onto the sides of the metal tube as he swung himself toward the top of the machine. As he reached his destination, he jumped to the top of the death egg bot. He punched the top of the machine and punched a hole, letting out smoke. Eggman shot the hedgehog, but nothing happened. A large hole appeared in the side of the death egg bot.
Eggman cursed angrily as he glared at Sonic. Then he blasted a giant blast of fire toward Sonic, blowing apart the death egg bot. He dodged the blast of fire and landed behind Eggman. He used a spin dash and hit Eggman on his back. Eggman stumbled and fell forward.
Then Sonic kicked him straight in the face and sent him flying backward. Before Eggman could regain his footing, he was met by Sonic, slamming his fist into his chest. Eggman flew backward through the air and crashed against the wall. His robot crashed into the wall as well, shattering completely.
"Give it up, Eggman. You're beaten," Sonic said as he stood proudly in front of the evil man.
"Ha! Do I look defeated?!" Eggman screamed hysterically. Then, Eggman pulled out of the remote and pressed the button to summon E-18 Guerra-Hard. In an instant, he was launched directly toward Sonic. Sonic gasped and quickly hopped back out of the way, avoiding the attack entirely. Eggman pressed his remote to activate his egg mobile to escape before he could be destroyed by the powerful force of E18 Guerra Hard.
"We'll meet again, Sonic. You'll wish you were dead when I find you!" Eggman fled the battle zone.
As Eggman disappeared, Sonic confronted E18 Guerra Hard. The robot shot at Sonic, which he easily dodged.
"I'm not afraid of you! You won't kill me that easily!" Sonic laughed triumphantly.
E18 Guerra Hard blasted out more laser blasts, which Sonic easily avoided.
"This is too easy!" Sonic exclaimed as E18 Guerra Hard fired another laser blast right at him.
E18 punched Sonic in the face, knocking him back against the wall.
"Oww.." Sonic winced in pain, holding his bleeding nose.
As E18 Guerra Hard prepared to punch again, Sonic leaped away and slammed into it hard. E18 stumbled backward, Sonic used his super speed to launch himself onto the robot, punching it in the center of the robot. He kicked it hard and sent it flying to the wall.
Sonic rested his hands on his lap, panting heavily, still feeling slightly dizzy. It took him a moment before he regained his composure and started to walk toward the exit where the dome was cracked open. Suddenly, he stopped dead in his tracks as he recognized a certain green glow behind him.
"No way!" Sonic yelled.
E18 still stood up to its feet, ready to fight.
"Oh, give me your break!" Sonic complained.
The robot ignored Sonic's complaint and prepared to fire at the blue blur.
Sonic didn't have time to fight this condemned robot. He had to get out of the dome.
"Sonic!" he heard Tails yell. He turned around and saw Tails flying toward him with Amy right beside him, both of them riding on a Tornado.
"Amy! Tails!" he exclaimed in joy as he was happy to see them.
"Sonic, take this!" he shouted as he threw a power ring at Sonic he caught it, and Sonic began to power up his energy core.
Sonic rolled himself into a ball and used a spin dash to destroy E18 Guerra Hard with Sonic's powerful spinning attacks, he broke through the abdomen of the robot, causing scrapes and metals to fly all over the place. The circuit began to surge dangerously, causing sparks to shoot out of the machine, as the robot crashed to the ground, completely lifeless.
Amy and Tails flew off of the Tornado and ran toward Sonic if he was alright.
"Are you okay? Are you hurt?" Tails asked in concern, as they came closer.
"Only a few scratches, but I'm okay. Thanks, guys," replied Sonic happily.
"Anytime. The citizen is safe now. Where's Eggman?" asked Tails.
"He escaped. He said he would be back. So... I think we should probably get home soon," stated Sonic.
"Sonic, if you want to walk home with me, we should get married," said Amy excitedly.
"Huh? What? Oh… No, no, we can talk about that later. We should really go before anything else happens," Sonic said nervously as he looked at Tails. "Right, Tails?"
"Well, yeah. I guess you're right," Tails said, sounding a bit uneasy.
-Meanwhile-
Dr. Eggman returned to his lair. He tapped the keypad to open this door and enter his laboratory. The light turned on revealing many computers and machines filled with all kinds of data. It appeared that many projects were being performed at once. The two minions were Orbot and Cubot, they were standing nearby, watching him in anticipation.
"How are things progressing?" he questioned.
"Very smoothly, Sir. Everything is going according to plan," said Orbot.
"Good. Now, the plan to eliminate Sonic has been completed. Now we need to prepare the next phase of our plans. After this, the planet will belong to us!" declared Eggman, as he walked towards one of his computer screens. He looked over several pages of notes in his hand. "But first…. We've got work to do."
"Yes, sir. What would you like us to do, sir?" asked Orbot as he glanced back at Cubot.
"Well… First, we've got to finish the project that yesterday," Eggman told them.
"What kind of project did you start, Sir?" Cubot inquired curiously.
Eggman grinned evilly, "Project Shadow."
"Shadow…?" echoed Orbot quietly as he blinked confused. "Sir… How is that even possible?"
"The hedgehog was able to figure out how to use my technology to repair himself. He managed to get a hold of me, but then he attacked me. That's why we need to get rid of him. If it wasn't for him destroying my robots, this wouldn't have happened," Eggman explained.
"But that is just an old idea, Sir. There is nothing left of those robots except piles of ashes," Cubot reminded him.
"Exactly. I'm going to build another one. But that hedgehog is going to help us destroy him. So you two are going to help me build new robots, and make sure they have as much strength as the previous ones, " ordered Eggman, placing his hand on his shoulder.
"Of course, sir," answered Orbot with a nod.
"So where are we headed to?" asked Cubot.
"To the Prison Island. Prepare my new Eggship and prepare for takeoff. We must leave now," said Eggman.

the reveal
Pairing: peter parker x bestfriend!reader
Summary: after years of being friends, y/n wants to tell peter just how she feels. the night she decides to tell him, she walks in on him in his spider-man suit and suddenly second guesses if it’s the right time
Word Count: 2.7k+
Warnings: one curse word
A/N: added in some platonic interactions with ned and y/n cause why not :)
Masterlist
✰ ✰ ✰
“I think I just failed our math test.” You huffed as you dropped your lunch tray onto the table.
Peter and Ned left an open spot between them for you to squeeze into.
“Honestly, I don’t see how you could have failed this test, (Y/N).” Peter chuckled.
“Yeah,” Ned agreed, “if you think you failed this test, then I don’t even want to know what I got.”
That made you laugh. “Okay, maybe not failed, but definitely not my best. I feel like I know what we’re learning, but it’s hard to do on paper, you know?”
Peter nodded his head.
“Whatever,” you chuckled, “let’s talk about something else. What are we doing after school?”
Peter whipped his head to you, “we had after school plans?”
“Well not exactly, but it’s Friday so I thought we could do something fun.”
Ned agreed, “Yeah, plus we haven’t all hung out in a while.”
Peter sighed, “Guys, I have that Stark thing tonight remember? I can’t just abandon my internship.”
You pout and poke Peter’s arm, “but all you ever do now is go to your internship. It’s like Ned and I don’t even see you anymore, Pete.”
“She’s right. You were so busy last weekend, (Y/N) and I had to go to the opening of her sister’s dance recital all by ourselves.”
“I mean, I understand why he didn’t want to go to that one. It was a nightmare.” You chuckled.
Peter sighed, “Listen, I’m really sorry I’ve missed a lot. I’ll make it up to you guys, I promise.”
“So... tonight?” You asked hopefully. “I swear, we will make it worth the time of the all mighty Peter Parker.” You teased as you bumped your shoulder with Peter’s.
He nervously chuckled, “Y-yeah! Okay, um, yeah, tonight.”
You giggled, noticing a new warmth to his cheeks. “So, what time do you get done?”
“Get done?” He repeated.
“You know, your internship.” Ned reminded him.
Peter gasped, “Oh, right! Right, my internship. Um, actually it might be late, are you sure you want to do it tonight?”
You shrugged, “It’s the weekend, I’m sure my parents won’t mind. Please Peter, we haven’t hung out in forever! The internship is eating up your social life!” You chuckled.
Ned gasped, “oh my god, we should totally have a sleepover at Peter’s tonight! I can bring some comics and movies for us.”
You cheered, “Yes! That would be so fun!” You noticed Peter looked a little awkward from the conversation. “Unless, you just don’t want to hang out, which is totally okay! Ned and I could always ju-”
“No!” Peter yelled.
He looked around the cafeteria, embarrassed. He cleared his throat. “I-I mean, no, I do want to hang out with you guys tonight. I think I should be getting back around ten, so you guys can come to my place.”
Ned gasped, “Peter, you work that late and you’re not even getting paid?”
He chuckled nervously, “well, yeah. I just really like working for Mr. Stark, so I don’t mind it.” Peter wiggled around awkwardly, almost like he didn’t know what to do with himself.
Peter’s hand rested on his leg, and you placed yours on top of his. He looked up at you, eyes wide and lips slightly parted.
You gave his hand a squeeze. “Peter, you’re my best friend. I can see how you’re acting right now. If you don’t want to hang out tonight, that’s totally understandable. We get how important this is to you, and we wouldn’t want to get in the way of your opportunity.”
Peter’s face softened into one with a smile. He squeezed your hand back, “thanks (Y/N), that means a lot. I do want to hang out with you guys, though. We’re going to have a sleepover at my place tonight, and it’ll be fun. I promise.”
Peter cleared his throat, and stood up. “I’ll be right back, I’m just going to use the bathroom real quick.”
Once Peter left, Ned started to chuckle.
You turned to him and smiled, “what’s so funny?”
“What’s funny is how obvious it is that you have a thing for Peter.”
You giggled, “come on Ned, no I don’t.”
Ned shook his head and grinned at you, “I know you do; I just know these things. The way the two of you look at each other is like you’re in some rom com.”
You groan, “okay fine, I do like Peter. And I’m only telling you this because your my best friend, not because I want you to tell him!”
Ned scoffed, “please, of course I’m not going to tell Peter. You should be the one to do it.”
You smiled and lightly pushed his shoulder with your own. “Thanks, Ned. Also, don’t make anything awkward now that you know, okay? Peter will definitely know something is up.”
Ned made an ‘x’ over his chest. “Cross my heart!”
You look away from Ned just in time to see Peter walking back into the cafeteria. He takes his seat next to you and gives you a smile.
“Oh Peter!” Ned said, “I forgot that I have plans tonight already. My mom wanted me to try out this new yoga video with her. She thinks it’ll be a nice way to relax and release tension.”
“Oh, that’s okay.” Peter nodded, “we can always hang out some other time.”
“Oh!” Ned gasped, “Well, (Y/N)’s still free tonight. The two of you can have that sleepover still. I’ll lend you my comics.”
“Yeah! That-that sounds cool.” Peter looked at you and smiled, “I’m down if you are.”
You grinned, “Totally! I’ll never turn down the chance to hang out with you.”
Peter blushed at that.
You smiled at Ned, “Sorry you can’t come! We’ll miss you tonight.” You winked.
Ned chuckled a little, “It’s okay, there’s always next time.”
The bell that signaled lunch was over rang. The three of you stood up.
“Okay, well I’ll talk to you guys later!” You smiled. “See you tonight, Peter.”
He shyly smiled, “yeah, see you tonight.”
✰ ✰ ✰
“I think I’m going to do it tonight.”
School had finished without any excitement other than yours for tonight. You had already eaten dinner, and as the time drew closer to ten, you grew anxious.
You were dramatically sprawled out on your bed, with your phone on FaceTime with Ned.
His eyes got wide, “Oh. My. God. You’re crazy.”
You quickly sat up, worried now. “Is that actually crazy? Cause I don’t have to; I mean, it might make things weird.”
Ned chuckled. “No, I meant like, crazy as in you’re a bad-ass. I think tonight is the perfect opportunity to tell Peter you like him; and I’m not just saying that because I gave up spending time with you guys so this could happen.”
You rolled your eyes and stood up, walking over to your closet. “I think I’m just going to wear some sweatpants and a comfy top since it’s supposed to be a sleepover. Or do you think I should wear something nicer since I’m going to be telling him I like him?”
Ned shakes his head. “Definitely the sweatpants. If he doesn’t like you in your comfy look, he doesn’t deserve you in your dazzling look.”
You giggled, “you’re right, thanks Ned.”
“I’m here to help. Let me know how things go between you two. I think things will work out like you want.”
You smiled, “I’ll call you tomorrow! Bye, Ned.”
“See ya.”
You hung up the phone, and put your comfortable clothes on. Your bag was already packed with your overnight gear all ready to go.
You picked it up, and slung the bag over your shoulder.
“Mom, dad! I’m headed out to Peter’s now, love you!”
You parents said their goodbye’s, and you were on your way to Peter’s.
The trip was very short; Peter and you lived only a short distance from one another.
Once you were at his front door, you knocked and were greeted by his Aunt May.
“(Y/N)! Oh my gosh, it’s been too long since you’ve been over!” She grinned, pulling you into a tight hug.
Since you and Peter were always so close, May thought of you as a daughter.
“Hi May! It’s great to see you again. Is Peter back from his internship yet? I know I’m a few minutes early.”
She ushered you inside and shut the door. “No, I don’t think Peter’s back yet. I just got out of the shower so he may have snuck in while I was in there. You can wait in his room if you’d like, Peter won’t mind.”
You smiled, “Okay, thank you May.”
You started to walk down the hall into Peter’s room before May stopped you.”Oh, and (Y/N)?”
You turned around, “yeah?”
May softly smiled at you, “don’t be nervous, dear. I’m sure things will work out.”
You lightly laughed, “how did you know?”
She just shrugged with a playful smile.
You grinned, “I’ll try my best, May. Wish me luck!”
You turned back, and headed for Peter’s room.
In your mind, you were trying to plan out exactly what you were going to say to him, and when. You were thinking about waiting a little bit before dumping all of your emotions onto him. Or you’d do it as soon as you saw him just to get it off your chest once and for all.
As you pushed Peter’s bedroom door open, you saw something you never thought you’d witness. Peter was standing, back towards you in the Spider-Man suit.
When he heard his door creak open, Peter rapidly spun around. His eyes were wide, and his mouth agape. He looked scared and extremely caught off guard that you had just seen him in his outfit.
“Oh, my god.” Is all you could manage.
You stared at Peter with the widest eyes he’d ever seen. Your mouth gobbled open and shut like a fish out of water; you couldn’t find any words to say to him.
He rushed over and pulled you into his room, frantically shutting the door behind you.
“(Y/N)! I didn’t expect you to be here so early.” Peter’s heart was racing. “It’s not what it looks like, I promise.”
You lightly shook your head, “I think it’s exactly what it looks like.”
You walked around him in a circle like a vulture stalking its prey. “You’re Spider-Man, aren’t you?”
Peter’s mouth opened, then shut as soon as it did, trying to come up with a response to you. When he couldn’t think of anything, he sighed. “Yeah, I’m Spider-Man.”
You gasped. Peter honestly could have told you he was just playing dress up as Spider-Man and you would have believed him, but here he is admitting to being the superhero that had been around the city.
“That is so crazy, Peter!” You grinned. “Oh, my god, I’m friends with Spider-Man!”
Your face fell, “oh, my god, I’m friends with Spider-Man.” Oh, no. Why did Peter have to reveal himself as Spider-Man tonight of all nights!
You were freaking out, now. You didn’t want Peter to think you only liked him now that you knew he was Spider-Man! You wanted him to know you liked him for himself, as Peter.
“(Y/N)? Are you alright? I know this can be a lot to take in, but I need you to listen to me.” His eyes were desperate as he tried to talk to you.
You nodded your head and gave him your full attention. “Yeah, I’m okay. Sorry, this just caught me off guard is all.”
He nodded his head, and placed a hand on your shoulder. “I’m sorry, I didn’t want to tell anyone, especially not like this.”
“So I’m the only one that knows?”
“Well, Mr. Stark knows cause he’s the one that gave me this upgraded suit, but yeah. You’re the only other one.”
“Oh, man. This is crazy.”
“You can’t tell anyone, (Y/N), please. If people find out, things will change for me, and I like my life how it is. I didn’t want to tell anyone because the more people that know, the more people there are that could be in danger.”
You nodded your head, and smiled at him, “Don’t worry, Pete, your secret is safe with me.”
Peter let out a relieved sigh, “I knew I could trust you. Sorry you had to find out this way, though.”
Peter presses a button on his chest that released his suit, leaving him in only his boxers.
You face heated up as you scanned you eyes over his toned chest. “Oh my god.” You quickly spun around to not face him once you realized what you were doing.”
Peter’s cheeks were hot as well. “Sorry, I wasn’t thinking when I did that.”
You heard some shuffling around as Peter got changed.
“You can turn around now.”
You do, and see that Peter is in sweatpants and a sweatshirt with his suit hung up in his closet.
He sat on his bed, and motioned you to sit as well.
You do so, and play with your fingers a little bit, now uncertain if it’s a good time to tell him how you feel.
“Hey,” Peter said as he grabbed you hand, stopping your nervous fiddling, “talk to me. I don’t know what’s going on in your head, and it’s freaking me out a little.” He nervously chuckled.
You gently smiled and started to mess with his fingers. “I think it’s really cool what you’re doing for the city. I think you’re really brave for all of this.”
Peter smiled at you, “yeah?”
“Yeah. I’m just worried that you could get hurt from this. You know I care about you, right?” You nervously added.
Peter nodded his head with a smile, “I know you care. I promise, I’m being careful out there, don’t worry.”
You lightly smiled, and looked down at your interlocked fingers.
“So, Ned told me something earlier.”
Your head quickly perked up at that. “Oh, did he?”
Peter rubbed the back of his neck, “yeah, he told me to make sure you tell me the thing you were going to tell me.” He sounded confused. “I don’t really know what he means by that, but he wanted me to make sure you don’t chicken out of it.”
You sighed. “Well, I was going to tell you something, but I don’t know if it’s the right time because of your whole... reveal.”
“Oh, well I’ll still care about what you have to say. Just because you know I’m Spider-Man, doesn’t mean I’m not still Peter.”
You looked up at him and smiled. “Yeah, you’re still Peter.”
He chuckled, and you took in a breath, trying to calm yourself down.
“Well, I’ve been wanting to tell you this for a while now, and I didn’t really know when a good time would be since you’re always at your internship or we’re hanging out with Ned as well. Not that I don’t like hanging out with Ned! I do, it’s just-”
Peter cut off your rambling by grabbing your face and pressing his lips to yours. You were stunned, to say the least. Peter’s lips were soft and gentle against yours. He made no move to escalate things; it was like all he wanted to do was feel your lips against his.
You finally kissed him back, and brought one of your hands to the side of his face. You rubbed your thumb along his cheek as you kissed, loving the feeling of being so close to him.
When you couldn’t take anymore, you pulled back and took a breath of air.
Looking at Peter like this was something you had only dreamed of. His lips were red and puffy from your kiss, and his eyes gleamed with excitement. You could only imagine how you looked.
“Was that what you were trying to tell me?” He cheekily remarked.
You giggled, “that was exactly what I was trying to tell you.”
“Good,” he grinned, “because I really like you, (Y/N), I have for a while now.”
You let out a chuckle, “it’s a good thing I’ve liked you for some time as well.”
Peter bit his lip to try to stop himself from smiling so much. He grabbed your hand and laced your fingers together.
“So, does that mean you’d want to go out with me sometime?” Peter asked, hopefully.
You pretended to think for a minute, then giggled. “Yeah, I’d love to go out with you sometime, but right now I just want to spend our night together like we planned.”
You leaned in closer to Peter, gently pulling him in by the collar of his shirt.
“I like the sound of that.” Peter gently said, right before you placed your lips on his.
You have so much to tell Ned tomorrow.

MONDAY
Lee Minho is your best friend. Now, Lee Felix would disagree and say you’re in love with him, and your roommate might be right, but you’ll never actually admit it to him. You managed to hide your feelings for the older boy for far too long now and you’re not just going to lose your streak for nothing, right?
Wrong.
Well, it’s not your fault that you have to break the little promise you gave to yourself. It’s all on Lee Felix and his pathetic bet. You should have known better than to make bets with a short Australian boy, but you guess even your brain has its dark moments and this was surely one of them.
“I bet you’ll forget to take out the things from the dishwasher before I come back from my afternoon class,” he prompts to say while putting on his shoes in the hall, glaring at you after a small argument you two had over who is the dirtier one in your apartment (it’s obviously Felix. He just can’t stand the truth).
“Oh yeah? What are we betting on, then?” you mock him, pouting in annoyance.
“If I come back and the dishwasher is still full, you’ll have to confess to Minho. No excuses.” he spits at you, putting on his coat and taking his backpack from the floor, looking like an angry cat.
You snort at his comment. “As if,” you roll your eyes, “okay, deal. And if I don’t forget and you lose this bet, you’ll have to clean for the whole year alone. I’m not helping in the slightest.” you bark at him, watching him open the door and snickering at your proposal.
“Right. Okay,” he nods his head, getting out of your shared apartment, “deal.”
Now, this was a huge deal for you. It was important for you to win this bet, because, well, you hate cleaning. And on top of that, you can’t just confess to your best friend out of the blue, right? That would be horrible. Everyone would have thought you paid much attention to your task and that you actually did what you had to do-- take the dishes out of the dishwasher for once. It was easy!
Well… you see… Friends were on the TV.
Isn’t that enough of a reasoning for you forgetting? No?
Okay, right, maybe you do have a memory of a goldfish. But it’s totally not your fault that the episode that was running was just your favorite and Felix’s afternoon class wasn’t as long as you thought it was going to be!
Needless to say, Felix came home to a full dishwasher and a shit-eating grin on his face announcing his victory, bringing you back to your senses.
“Oh no..” you curse under your breath, fear in your eyes.
“Do it. Now,” he orders, “call him. I can’t believe you actually forgot.” he shakes his head, laughing to himself, “oh, well, I did think you would, but something inside of me still had a little bit of hope.” he shrugs, watching you nervously sweat under his gaze.
“I can’t!”
“It was a bet, you little bitch! Do it now or I’m telling him!” he yells, motioning to your phone and glaring at you for the thousandth time that day, making you take it with shaky fingers and a deep sigh coming out of your mouth, dialing your best friend’s number, because truth be told, maybe you do fear your roommate just a little bit. He is short, but full of angst and rage for this world and you didn’t want to be the victim of that.
“Hello?” Minho asks, making you tremble even more with the reality hitting you.
“M-Minho?” you call into the phone, biting on your nails as you put your phone on speaker so Felix can watch you do the biggest mistake of your short life.
“Yeah?” he asks nonchalantly, making your heart skip a beat.
“I love you.” you deadpan, hearing the other side of the line get silent. It’s not an outcome you predicted, but it’s not the one you would like to hear either.
After a while, there’s a short snicker coming out of the speaker followed by a teasing question that makes you instantly roll your eyes. “Who doesn’t?”
And you chose this as your object of interest? You huff, instantly getting irritated as all of your nerves leave your body. “I love you, Minho.”
“Did you drink?” he asks, “I mean, I know it’s only like 4pm or something, but with you and Felix living together, you never know…”
“No, I didn’t drink anything. I’m completely sober-” you prompt to say, getting cut off by your best friend again, his voice coming out in a rushed statement.
“Okay, I have a class in like 5 minutes and I haven’t gone out of my apartment yet, so please don’t get wasted and I’ll see you soon, bye!” and with that, he gives you no time to answer as he ends the call, leaving you sitting shocked in your living room with a silent phone in your hand and a moment to take in.
“So... I guess it went good?” you mumble, raising your eyebrows at your roommate that just shakes his head at you.
“You’re gonna try tomorrow again. I’m not letting you go before he takes your confession seriously.”
“Felix-”
“No excuses.” he glares.
You had to clean out the dishwasher that afternoon anyway.

TUESDAY
You decide to follow your promise you gave to Felix, because in your words, mamma ain’t raise no bitch, and you also, admittedly, can’t stop thinking about the words you said to him ever since you got them out of your mouth. There was a sense of relief overflowing your body after your confession that tells you that maybe, this wasn’t such a bad idea as you first thought it was.
You confess to your best friend on the second day of the week again. It’s tuesday and you two meet in a coffee shop, talking about how your week was. You two were quite busy with school and classes, so it was hard for you two to talk, but you quickly caught up and your conversations were still as comfortable as ever, as if nothing happened and you didn’t just spill out your heart to him the day before.
You think that maybe, he even forgot. Who knows? Lee Minho was quite the individual.
Once the barista calls for his name and he comes to take his order, you watch him with a look you only imagine can resonate the textbook version of heart eyes. It’s hard for you to look anywhere else-- you have eyes only for him. It’s quite silly, you think. You managed to fall for him even though all he’s ever done was tease you and laugh at you.
Well… that’s not all. And you know that. To a stranger, it might seem like your relationship is strictly like two siblings. You two tease each other more than you actually have serious talks, but that doesn’t mean Minho isn’t a good listener that always offers you the most honest advice. His humour is also the only thing that could get you through your hard days sometimes and for that, you’re forever thankful.
So once you step outside of the coffee shop and walk side by side on the sidewalk, you decide to go for it again. Because what could go wrong, right?
“Minho, I love you.” you say, voice much more steadier than yesterday, watching him react.
But exactly in the moment you do so, the cup of coffee in his hands slips out of his grasp and falls to the ground, making him wince and scowl, because truth be told, his only love is and always has been the americano now spilled all over the concrete.
“A terrible decision, really.” he mutters, taking the empty cup from the ground and throwing it out to the bin, sighing to himself.
You offer to share your coffee with him. He teases you for drinking latte.

WEDNESDAY
Wednesdays are the hardest for your best friend. You know this, because you know him too well. You know his schedule by heart and you also know when he’s having a hard time-- you are his best friend, after all. You can see it on him even in the slightest change in his eyes.
You visit him at his apartment on Wednesday with some takeout in your hand, knowing he doesn’t have the time and energy to cook on this particular day.
His classes start in the early morning and they end in the late afternoon-- leaving him exhausted, only to be going to his dance classes in the evening. They always tire him out even more. It breaks your heart to see him getting home with dark circles under his eyes and fair skin, but you can’t really do anything about it-- it’s his schedule, after all. All you can do for him is be there with takeout in your hand, waiting on his bright yellow sofa (you were strongly against this color, but he just didn’t care about your opinion. Or he bought it just for the exact same reason, who knows) until he comes home, ready to hear him complain about his day.
And he does exactly that-- he comes home a few minutes after you sneaked into his apartment with the spare key he nonchalantly gave you once when you hung out, falling down face-first onto the sofa with an exaggerated sigh, screaming into the cushions.
“Hard day?” you ask, voice soft and considerate.
He answers you with a hum before he sits up again, coming closer to where you’re sitting on the sofa, taking the takeout from the bag sitting at the coffee table and sitting on the floor in front of you, right between your legs. You don’t know why he does that, but it’s become a tradition at this point-- he sits at the floor, even though he has plenty of space on the sofa to sit on, and you sit right behind him, legs on either side of his body, nudging him with your heels when you feel like teasing him.
“Thanks for coming,” he mumbles, getting the chopsticks and munching on his food, chewing out loud-- a sign that it tastes good and you made a good choice on picking his dinner today.
“It’s not a big deal, I always come over anyways,” you answer, smiling down at him.
He only nods at you, but you see his composure shift in the way he aimlessly stares at the wall-- he doesn’t feel good. It’s not only the exhaustion today. There must be something else going on.
“Are you okay?” you ask, bringing him out of his thoughts.
“Yeah,” he nods, continuing to eat, “it’s just… I feel so useless today.” he shrugs, snickering to himself.
“Why?” you simply state.
“We’re learning this new choreography and I just can’t get it right…” he mumbles, not once meeting your eye as he explains what’s on his mind. Minho doesn’t say a lot, but somehow, you always entirely know how he feels.
You sigh, shifting a little in your seat so you’re closer to the boy sitting on the floor, tenderly bringing your fingers into his hair. You brush it away from his forehead, playing with it, as you quietly speak up, wanting to heal your best friend’s heavy heart.
“It’s just a bad day, Minho. It will be okay, I promise. You just have to rest, okay?” you mumble, continuing to play with his hair. “You’ll get the dancing right in no time. So don’t worry about that, yeah?”
“Hmm,” he hums in a mix of pleasure and acknowledgement, closing his eyes momentarily before he puts the empty box of takeout on the coffee table and leans back into your touch, “fine. Wanna sleep over and watch a movie?”
You shake your head in disbelief at how quickly his mood changes, giggling. “Okay.”
“Okay,” he nods, but doesn’t move from your touch. You watch him from up close, tracing the sculpted features of his face, admiring his beauty, when you decide to say the three words again, nonchalantly and randomly, as always.
“I love you, Minho.”
“Thanks.”

THURSDAY
You wake up to the sunlight aggressively shining into your eyes, scowling a little and cursing at Lee Minho under your breath, because he is the only person you know that doesn’t close their blinds before going to sleep. You thank the gods for not having a morning class today, trying to force yourself to go back to sleep, when you hear loud cursing from the kitchen, prompting you to hurriedly stand up and rush to the room, watching a disaster happen right in front of your eyes.
“Fuck fuck fuck fuck fuck-” you hear, seeing something set to flames on the stove-- you think it’s eggs, by the carton placed on the kitchen counter, but you really can’t recognise the object when it’s coal black and burning.
“What’s going on?” you nervously ask, watching the scene unfold.
“A fire.” your best friend says, making you laugh.
You just shake your head at him, taking a seat at his kitchen table, not even rushing to help. Watching him struggle is much more fun anyway, and you know he’ll figure it out eventually-- he’s an engineering student. He’s smart.
“Are you not going to help?” he glares at you, putting the pan under the sink, flashing water on the hot surface.
“Not really, no,” you shake your head in innocence, seeing how the hot oil reacts with water in a small explosion, almost burning your best friend’s fingers off as he quickly lets go of the object and curses loudly again, taking a step back.
“How did this all even happen?” you ask, watching him sigh and take out another pan, cracking an egg on top of it and letting it cook.
“I was looking for Dori and forgot I had eggs on the stove…” he scratches the back of his head, laughing a little at himself.
“Right. Yeah. Why didn’t I think of that? I’m such an idiot,” you propose, laughing with him. It’s such a Minho thing to do, you don’t even feel surprised anymore.
Minho then finishes cooking the eggs, serving them to you on a small, white plate, acting like a chef as he takes a seat on the chair opposite of yours, eating his own creation as well.
“Is it good?” he asks, watching you fierclessly nod at him with big eyes and full mouth.
“It’s amazing. I was starving, really, so these eggs really hit different right now,” you mumble out, “Thanks Minho, I love you.”
It slips out casually now. It’s been four days and your best friend doesn’t seem to notice the change in your behaviour, but you don’t really even care at this point. Maybe it’s easier for you this way, after all.
Minho just hysterically laughs at you like a maniac this time, not even finding words to say back as he finishes the breakfast he made with so much struggle, and maybe even the tiniest bit of care.

FRIDAY
The cars behind the window blur into themselves as you drive down the street, sitting on the passenger seat of your best friend’s car. You smile fondly at him when he shortly glances at you from his place, driving with ease down the neighbourhood you live in, the raindrops angrily falling at the surface of the car making it hard for the two of you to even listen to music on your drive home.
“Thanks for driving me home, you’re a lifesaver,” you say when you’re near your apartment complex.
“Well, I have to take care of you since you’re too stupid to get driver’s licence,” he shrugs, grining.
“I’m not stupid!”
“You failed the test twice!”
“I was stressed!” you argue, laughing at him.
He shakes his head at you, parking in front of your building, waiting for you to get out with your things and run into your apartment. You don’t forget your ritual, though, looking him in the eye before you leave, muttering the cursed eight letters again before saying goodbye.
“I love you.”
“Why?” he asks, eyebrows furrowed. There’s a hint of amusement hitting his features, but confusion is a feeling overpowering on his face when he speaks to you.
“What do you mean, why?” you shake your head.
“Why do you keep saying that?”
“Because it’s true?” you answer, sounding more like a question, though, watching his expression change into even more confused one.
“But like… why?”
“That’s a stupid question.” you scoff. You feel your palms sweating, trying to nonchalantly wipe them on your pants, the stress finally falling on your shoulders when you’re being questioned.
“It’s not. Answer me.” he insists, pouting at you like a little child in the store when their parents don't want to buy them something.
“Because you’re my best friend? I don’t know,” you sigh, hurriedly taking your backpack from the floor, opening the door wide to escape the conversation, “bye!”
You run into your apartment, breathing heavily as you take off your shoes and reach the living room, seeing your roommate laying sprawled out on the sofa in his usual manner. This is a situation for a short australian man to cope with, if you’ve ever seen one.
“Felix, I think I fucked up.”
![Tumblr media](https://64.media.tumblr.com/570cc2cd5122c2b1841fa72680b722ba/ea2a5a0ae5507947-f4/s540x810/6c2898dec2710a82af9964a5d4ab9c02e12c3789.jpg)
SATURDAY
After a long, long conversation with Felix about your feelings and how you think you ruined it all, you think your mood couldn’t be worse. You feel like you either completely missed your chance by telling Minho you love him only because he’s your best friend, or you messed it all up and made your friendship awkward by saying so and he finally caught on to what your words really mean.
You walk around the apartment like a stressed-out shell without a soul, chewing on your bottom lip at all times, when you hear the bell on your door ring, throwing you out of your thoughts as you run to see who’s there bugging you in the late hours of the evening.
“What are you doing here so late?” you ask Minho, caught off-guard.
“I was bored,” he shrugs, looking down to his feet. You want the ground to swallow you whole. It’s suddenly hard to stand there in front of him-- it only deepens how embarrassed and frustrated you feel.
“Do you wanna go out for a walk?” he asks, raising his eyebrows up at you in question.
“Sure,” you shrug, following him outside.
You walk by his side, feeling your hands slightly brush against each other from time to time, making you shudder with the unexpected contact. You’ve never felt more nervous than now-- and you took your driving test twice, so that really tells you something.
“Why are you so quiet? Did something happen?” he asks, slightly nudging you with his elbow.
“What? No,” you shake your head, “everything’s fine.” you smile.
“Are you sure? I know I can be a dick sometimes, but you know I’m always here for you,” he says, gazing into your face with such fondness it actually comforts you.
“Yeah, I know,” you nod, “thanks.” you sigh.
A few more steps later, though, the sentence slips out of your mouth again, and you don’t even try to fight it as you let it go. It feels natural to say it now. You’re getting used to it, yet, the feeling he makes you feel always somehow shifts-- but still stays the same as well.
“I love you.”
A nervous laugh is all he gives you, hugging you to his side with his arm, keeping you close to shield you from the cold.

And when the clock passes midnight and Minho’s still sitting in your room, you feel like somehow, you two have never been closer. You managed to confess to him every day for the past week and he’s still by your side. It’s a change to your relationship, but you don’t feel like it’s causing you trouble anymore.
You sit in silence, just enjoying each other’s presence. You don’t have a clue why he didn’t want to leave yet, but you don’t mind him staying. He brings your soul another kind of comfort-- like the morning by the sea, just listening to the waves hitting the shore, the distant chirping of birds lulling you back to sleep.
His hands rest on your calves, your legs thrown over his lap as he sits up on your bed, his back pressed against the wall. You lay there, watching him in the moonlight. You had to turn the lights off, because Felix’s room is right opposite yours and the landlord didn’t let you change the door, meaning you both had an old, white door with a big glass window in the middle of it, letting the lights shine right to the other’s room at night.
He tickles you in the spark of the moment, making you laugh quietly. You don’t want to wake Felix up, or else he’ll get mad at you, and once again, you don’t play with a short australian boy, or you’ll get burned-- you know that by now.
“Stop it!” you whisper-shout at him, sitting up and moving away from him.
He chases you on the bed, though, his fingers laying everywhere on your body, lightly tickling the skin of your stomach when his hands slip under your pyjama shirt. You push them away, squeeking with the coldness of his fingertips, tears threatening to fall from your eyes at the force of your laugh.
He stops, falling down to the bed next to you, heavy breathing being the only thing heard in the quiet room. His hand slowly makes its way to your thigh, resting there delicately. You curse at the butterflies rising in your stomach-- you want to shout at them to go away, but hell, is it a good feeling. It’s like you’re torturing yourself, but it’s a sweet torture. You wouldn’t change it in the slightest.
And so then and there, after confessing to him for six days straight, you decide to try again, with as much sincerity as you can, because suddenly, there’s something inside of you telling you that this time, it might actually work.
“I love you.”
And perhaps, you’re not wrong, because with the shuffling of the sheets, he turns his body to yours, facing you. He stares into your eyes, smiling softly at your face, the action looking angelic sitting on his features.
“I love you too,” he confesses in the dark.

Lovestruck - fic
Characters: Tim Drake, Damian Wayne, Jason Todd, kinda Dick Pairings: future!jondami, implied-kinda?timkon, also timbernard Summary: Damian starts acting weird after Tim and Bernard begin dating. Turns out even this kid can be naive, and a total idiot, when he wants to be. A/N: idk a headcanon I couldn’t stop thinking about haha. Damian is absolutely one of those genius kids who don’t know the most basic things. Also if it’s not clear, Damian is comparing Tim’s answers to what he likes in people to if they match Conner. all ages are current canon so Tim is immortal and Damian is 14 mkay bye.
~~
When Tim started dating Bernard, he expected a lot of different things. He expected Bruce’s protectiveness, Dick’s softness, Jason’s gift of XL condoms, Cassandra’s date suggestions and even Stephanie’s own prepared shovel talks for his new paramour.
But he did not expect…well, this.
He did not expect to see Damian sitting on the front porch when Bernard brought him home from their third date. He did not expect Damian to start furiously writing in the notebook on his lap at the sight of them.
He did not expect to come down to breakfast and see the kitchen table scattered with notes and lists and images of way too pretty people, pictures of Bernard and Steph among them.
“…What are you doing?” Tim found himself asking sleepily.
“Research.” Damian replied simply, sipping thoughtfully from a mug on the island. “None of your concern.”
“Oh yeah?” Tim asked as he approached. Instantly he tapped the photos of Steph and Bernard. “So why are there pictures of my ex-girlfriend and current…boyfriend here?”
His stomach still did giddy jumps at the thought.
Damian’s lips twitched, like he’d been caught with his hand in the cookie jar. Then he reached out and slid the photos underneath some papers. “Just…persons of interests.”
“For?”
“None of your concern.” Damian reiterated. Quickly, he began to shuffle all of his papers and pictures together. “Jeez, what does that Dowd boy even see in you…”
And then he was gone before Tim’s pre-caffeine mind could catch up.
After that, Damian was less obvious, but Tim could still catch on. In fact, everyone was catching on. But, like the emotionally constipated Bats they were, no one said anything, or tipped their youngest off.
They all just watched, as he suddenly began to distantly follow Tim around. Around the house, around the city, both as a civilian and in uniform. It was Cassandra who declared that Damian was watching who Tim was interacting with, not necessarily him.
He never followed him on his dates, though.
Then came the questions. Every time they were together. They’d go to lunch downtown near the office, and Damian would ask:
“Do you like that girl’s hair?”
“Would you ever wear those shoes?”
“How much do you respect a person if their suit jacket doesn’t fit them properly?”
When they’d be staking out a suspect on a building overlooking a street corner, he’d say:
“That belt is too gaudy.”
“You can tell he spent way too many hours in the mirror getting ready to go to that disgusting dive.”
“I can’t believe she’s walking on this street in those heels. Would you go for comfort or fashion?”
And it continued, the following, the seemingly random questions. After a while, Tim chalked it up to…maybe Damian was just getting to know him. Just trying to actually get along for once in their lives. They were both getting older, more mature. Maybe it was just time they started acting like what they were.
Brothers.
But then he came home one afternoon to find Dick standing in the manor’s foyer, back leaning against the wall that led into the central sitting room they all used. It was almost evening, which meant Damian was most likely in there sketching, or reading with his pets.
Dick noticed him open the door, and quickly put a finger to his smiling lips. Tim nodded and silently closed the door behind him, carefully took off his shoes and jacket, then tiptoed over to Dick.
He peeked around Dick’s shoulder. Sure enough, Damian was in there, but he was standing at the fireplace, staring down into the flames.
Jason sat in the loveseat behind him.
“Jay just got in there. He hasn’t said anything yet.” Dick breathed. Tim frowned skeptically. Surely Damian knew who was in the house. Knew there was something going on if Jason had just sought him out.
“What are we interrogating him for?” Tim whispered back. “Did he lose one of Alfred’s recipe books again?”
Dick just shook his head and pointed into the room. Tim looked back in.
Jason was relaxed in the chair, but staring intensely at his youngest brother. Damian must have known that, felt his eyes, because he wasn’t looking up. Kept his gaze glued to the fire at his feet.
Suddenly, Jason huffed, crossing his arms. “Spill.”
“Spill what.” Damian rolled his eyes.
“Spill why you’re stalking Tim.” Jason said bluntly. “Why you’re asking him all those dumbass questions.” A pause. “…Why you’re keeping tabs on his boyfriend.”
Tim inhaled sharply, glaring up at Dick. Dick waved both his arms quickly, implying that Jason’s words weren’t true, that it was just to catch Damian off guard.
“I’m not keeping tabs on him, Todd. That’s ridiculous.” Damian countered. “I’m merely making sure they’re still together.”
A moment to let the fire crackle.
“Well, I’m also making sure that boy isn’t hurting or manipulating Drake in some way.” Damian murmured softly. “But mostly, I’m just making sure they’re still together.”
Jason crossed his ankle over his knee. “Why?”
“What, I can’t be concerned for my brother’s safety and happiness?”
Jason snorted. “Not that brother’s.”
Damian glanced over his shoulder and narrowed his eyes. Then back to the fire.
Jason waited a minute, let his eyes dart across Damian’s back, study his posture. “…Why are you so concerned if Tim and his new boy-toy are still together?”
Damian shrugged silently.
“Don’t do that.” Jason scolded. “Use your words, Damian. Like a big boy.”
Damian let out a frustrated exhale. “I’m just…confirming Drake isn’t looking elsewhere.”
“What, to cheat on his boyfriend?” Jason drawled. “Timmy’s not the cheating type, I can tell.”
“No. No.” Damian said sternly. “That’s not what I’m saying.”
“Then what are you saying?”
“I’m saying!” Damian threw his arms out. Let them fall back to his thighs with a slight smack. “…I’m saying I’ve seen him look at others the way he looks at Bernard Dowd and that is…concerning. …To me.”
“Others?” Jason questioned. “What others?”
“Like Conner Kent!” Damian finally spun around now. Jason’s eyebrows rose in surprise and Damian rolled his eyes again. “Oh don’t tell me you don’t see it. Those two have been flirting with each other since the damn day they met. Drake dating this boy now only confirms the possibility of their eventual coupling.”
Jason let his face settle back into neutral, let the words bounce around in his brain. “Okay…I guess I can agree with that.”
Tim glanced up at Dick, who gave him a wink. Tim’s face instantly went beet red.
“But that still tells me nothing.” Jason continued. “So Tim and Conner maybe had or have crushes on each other. Maybe they’re attracted to each other. Maybe they’re forever star-crossed and nothing will ever happen. So what? Why does that bother you?”
Damian kept his lips pressed firmly together. After a moment, he spun back towards the fire.
“…Damian?”
“…Because it would be weird.” Damian said at last. “It would be weird if he and Conner…”
Damian’s voice fell to an unintelligible mumble.
“What?” Jason asked gently. “I didn’t catch that.”
Damian mumbled again, still impossible to understand.
“Kid, you’re gonna have to speak up, okay. I can’t hear you-”
“I said it would be weird if he was dating Conner while I was dating Jon!” Damian yelled, whirling around once more. “And if he breaks up with Dowd and starts dating Conner before I can gain the courage to talk to Jon then I’ll lose my chance!”
His last words echoed in the space around them. Floated into the hallway and echoed up the stairs, too.
Not that anyone noticed. Tim had grabbed Dick’s bicep, while Dick had thrown a hand over his own mouth in surprise.
“Oh my god.” Tim whispered. “Oh my god, oh my god.”
“That…” Dick murmured. “That’s the cutest fucking thing I’ve ever heard in my life.”
Jason, luckily, had more composure than the two of them, and suddenly Tim realized why it was Jason doing the prodding, not Dick.
Jason’s eyes had just widened, no other movement than that. He remained still, remained calm, even as Damian’s face darkened, and embarrassed tears appeared in the corners of his eyes.
“Oh.” He said simply. “Oh, Damian.”
“Shut up.” Damian crossed his arms again, but they all knew this time it was to hold himself. “Don’t…don’t make fun of me.”
“Never.” Jason promised. “But also, not a thing you need to worry about.”
“Why, because Jon will turn me down anyway?” Damian whispered bitterly, turning away. Not towards the fire this time, just the window.
“He’d be an idiot to, and I’ll beat the shit out of him if he does.” Jason said as he uncrossed his legs and leaned his elbows on his knees. “No, I mean, you don’t need to worry about it because it wouldn’t be weird if y’all just so happened to be double-dating.”
Damian waited, then glanced back at Jason. “It wouldn’t?” Jason smiled and shook his head. “There isn’t like…I mean…a law…?” He inhaled slowly. “If Drake and Conner started dating, wouldn’t that make Jonathan and I…related?”
“That’s only if they got married, and even then, wouldn’t be weird.” Jason shrugged. “What, you’ve never heard those stories of like…twins marrying another set of twins? That shit happens all the time. You wouldn’t be the first.”
Damian blinked owlishly, let his hands fall back to his sides. “…Oh.”
“Yeah. Oh.” Jason laughed, standing. “Besides, Tim seems to really like Blondie whats-his-name so…I really don’t think you have anything to worry about.” A second, to cheekily add: “At least…not right now.”
Damian twisted his lips. “I told you their chemistry was obvious.”
“Yeah, yeah, yeah, so is Bruce and Clark’s if you ask the tabloids and half the Justice League.” Jason droned, reaching out for Damian’s shoulder and tugging him into his side. “But like I said, don’t worry about it. Who cares about your idiot brother and who he’s dating, let’s focus more on you and how you’re gonna woo one Jonathan Kent, mmkay?”
He quickly ushered Damian out of the room using a door on the far side, only glancing back once to mouth oh my god! dramatically to the ones watching from the hall.
“That…” Tim exhaled as Jason closed the door behind them. “…was the most precious thing I think I’ve ever seen.”
Dick hummed in agreement, then: “…But is he right?”
Tim glanced up at him.
“You and Conner?”
Tim felt his face warm a little. “…I’m dating Bernard, Dick.”
“Okay.”
“And…I think I should go call him. We haven’t talked all day.”
Dick smirked. “Okay.”
“…Don’t look at me like that.”
Dick let out a chuckle. “Okay.”
“…Stop saying okay.”
“…Okay.”
“Dick!”
He laughed again. “Sorry, sorry.” He ran his fingers through Tim’s hair. “Tell Bernard I said hello, and also warn him that your younger brother is absolutely ready to gut him, should he hurt you.”
Oh yeah. Tim forgot that little tidbit. He felt his face warm even faster.
“Yeah…” He sighed, turning towards the stairs. He ignored the little flutter in his heart, at the idea of his lovesick, protective, ridiculous little brother. God, that kid. “Yeah, I think that’s probably something he oughta know.”

Some unspoken thing
Karl Jacobs x Reader
requested: no
Trigger warnings: mentions of covid, mild descriptions of a panic attack
premise: You and Karl have been friends, for years now, and now even your friends are starting to see that unspoken thing between you
“---” talking
‘---’ talking through a call
(y/s/n) - your screen name
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
You’d known Karl since you were at least 10, and you both agreed that you’d been together forever, through thick and thin it was always you and Karl against the world. You and your unspoken thing.
When he’d first spoken of moving away from Portland you weren’t too sure, mostly because of college, but still, you found yourself here, sprawled across a couch, exhausted from hauling boxes up to your apartment.
“Why did we bring so much stuff?” You groaned as Karl picked up your legs long enough to sit down, then letting them drop into his lap.
He sighed, “Don’t quote me on this, but it was you who couldn’t pack your stuff into less than 20 boxes.”
“Yah okay Mr. ‘I can’t be bothered to even clean this laundry before I pack it up to leave’.” You scoffed.
“That's not true! I washed most of it...” Karl trailed off pulling out his phone, “Pizza?”
“Obviously.”
Soon the pizza arrived and as Karl went to the door to grab it, you went and grabbed two monsters from the fridge, sitting back down in front of the couch as Karl came back with the pizza.
“Ey I gotta pizza here!” He exclaimed, setting it down.
“Eyyyyyyy!” You handed him one of the monsters, opening your own as he sat down, already starting to pull up an old episode of survivor.
Once the pizza had been finished, and the left overs put away you ended up half cuddled together on the couch, your fingers softly carding through his hair.
^^
“Hey! I’m back!” You called, looking around the seemingly empty apartment, confused, “Karl?”
It had been a few months since, you’d moved out to North Carolina, and so far online school hadn’t been too bad even when corona hit, not with Karl and streaming to distract you from the reality of the world around you.
You went back to looking around for your friend, calling, “Hey, Karl where’d you go?”
Sighing you followed the soft, muffled sobs to Karl’s room, knocking on the door softly, “Honey, are you in there?”
There was silence, then a muffled, “un uh.”
You pushed open the door gently, blinking into the mild darkness and turning to see Karl sitting on his bed, half curled into the wall and wrapped in a sweater he’d stolen from your closest a few weeks ago.
Immediately you crossed the room, climbing onto the bed next to him and pulling him into your arms, “Hey, hey, what’s wrong? What happened?”
His arms drifted around your waist, burying his into your chest, “They all hate me.” He murmured.
“Who do you think hates you?” You cooed.
“Dream and Sapnap and everyone.”
“They don’t hate you, no one on the smp hates you.” You pressed a kiss to the top of his head, “What happened?”
“I said somethin stupid, (y/n), I messed everything up.”
You knew not to push any further, instead just doing your best to hold him closer, whispering, “They don’t hate you, they’d never hate you okay? It’ll all blow over and everything will be okay. I promise.”
“What if it doesn’t (y/n)? What if I messed it up forever?”
“You didn’t baby, you didn’t. It’s gonna be alright, I promise.”
^^
“Ahhhhhh leave me alone!” You half shrieked, running away from Sapnap and Quackity on the dream SMP.
‘Imposter! Imposter!’ They chanted.
“I’m just supposed to be babysitting the chat!” You yelled, “I didn’t sign up to bully on a twitch stream! If I wanted that I would’ve been on my own stream!”
Sapnap laughed, ‘Oof! That's sad.’
“I know,” You said dramatically, “No one has any respect for (y/s/n), not you, not my chat, not even Karl!”
‘We all know thats not true.’ Quackity scoffed.
You half turned, giggling as Karl, came back into the room, “Debatable.”
“What’s uh, whats going on?” He asked.
“I’m being bullied, that's what's going on,” The chat started to fill with hearts and ‘(y/s/n) support.’, “Also I’ve decided since your chat likes me more than mine, so this is my stream now, I’m taking over.”
Karl just half sighed, grabbing the chair from your desk on the other side of the office, and wheeling it over, sitting down next to you, propping his legs in your lap.
‘(y/n) the world wants to know, how does it feel to now fill the void where Karl Jacobs once sat?’ Quackity asked, through a voice filter.
“Well, since my dear friend Karl died,”
“I’m not dead!” He interjected.
You sniffed, “Sometimes I can still hear his voice.”
“Dear friend?” Sapnap scoffed, “Al- Quackity look at the stream and tell me if they look like ‘dear friends’.”
You face started to grow red, as both Nick and Alex began to catcall at you two, Karl, clearly getting confused as you ducked your head, face entirely red.
“Whats the matter (y/n)? You got a crush?” Nick teased.
Half covering your mouth you muttered, “Just some unspoken thing.”
^^
“If I were to tell you that I kinda sorta didn’t listen to you, and forgot to buy more cereal, what would you say?” Karl asked, shrugging off his backpack as he came into the apartment.
When he got no real response, he started to look around, finding you a minute later, laying on his bed, “Did’ja hear me?”
“ehhhh... I don’t really care.”
His brow furrowed upon hearing your monotonous, “You okay? What’s up?”
You were still staring up at the ceiling “Grey, ‘s all grey.”
Sighing he came and sat down on the bed next to you, taking one of your hands in his, “Grey?”
“Sad brain makes everything grey.”
Karl fiddled with your fingers a moment, before raising them to his lips and softly pressing a kiss to your knuckles, “I’ll go make you tea.”
He headed out of the room, leaving you to sit up and stare at the ceiling wondering what you’d done to deserve someone like him.
He headed out of the room, leaving you to sit up and stare at the ceiling wondering what you’d done to deserve someone like him.
A few minuets later he came back with a mug, handing it to you before he sat down behind you, wrapping his arms around you, “Is there a reason for sad brain today?”
“Everything's just- blah. I’m just tired.”
He didn’t need to ask to understand you didn’t mean physically, so instead he just pulled you gently to lean against his chest, pressing a gentle kiss to the edge of your jaw, “Okay?”
You knew Karl had a hard time with words sometimes, and you had long since learned how to listen for the meanings between simple phrases, and especially the weight of certain words, “Okay.”
^^
‘So what is with you and Karl?’ Niki asked.
You sighed, “I do not even know where to begin to answer that question.”
You were sitting in a discord call with her, originally trying to plan a joint stream but the conversation had switched.
‘I mean, if you don’t mind me saying so, it seems like your dating.’
“Well...” You considered it for a moment, you knew that your feelings for Karl were more than platonic, and had been for a long time, to you, it almost seemed like a fact of the world, the sky is blue, the earth is round, you loved Karl.
“We've never talked about it, but- I suppose we- uhhh, you know what we’ll just say a little bit.” You quickly changed what you were going to say to be more ambiguous as Karl entered the room yelling, “Hi Niki!”
‘I know you can’t hear me but hi Karl!’ She yelled back.
You laughed, turning in your chair, “Niki says hi!”
Karl grinned, leaning on the back of your chair, “Oh, yeah, dinners ready.” and Niki raised her eyebrows, smirking at you.
“Don’t look at me like that.” You laughed, feeling Karl’s chin coming to rest on the top of your head.
‘I’m not looking at anything.’ she insisted, ‘you would be a cute couple.’
Your face started to turn red, “Shut up!”
‘It was a compliment!’ Niki laughed.
“I know!”
Karl’s face grew confused, “What?”
“It’s nothing. Niki I’ve gotta go, we’ll see about the stream tomorrow, okay?”
‘yeah, bye!’
“Bye!”
You disconnected from the call, “Dinner?”
“Yeah! I managed not to burn the chicken!”
You couldn’t help but grin, “Awesome!”
^^
“I swear- either there both oblivious or there just really good at keeping it just hidden enough!” Dream exclaimed.
“I mean if we don’t find out for another two weeks, I get a hundred dollars, so by all means let it drag out.” Quackity laughed.
Sapnap groaned, “Actually its more like three hundred now, Hbomb, Skeppy and Wilbur all put in more money.”
“Well I asked the other day,” Niki began, “and they only said, ‘a little bit’, What does that even mean?”
“Maybe they are dating and that's (y/n)s way of dismissing it.” Tubbo said.
You were listening to the discord call, trying not to laugh, as Tommy suggested, “Well it’s possible they are dating but like, haven’t realized it?”
Everyone began to laugh, “Wait- wait hear me out! Hear me out! Like- you know when on like romcoms and shit where two bestfriends end up like there dating even when they technically aren’t and then they accidently kiss!”
George scoffed, “That's not a thing.”
“Well still!” Tommy tried to argue.
“Not even in movies though.” Niki said.
“Your right,” You laughed, unmuting, “We haven’t kissed yet, so it must not be a thing.”
The vc went deadly silent as Tommy began to laugh hysterically, “Were you here the whole time?”
“Maybe.” You laughed.
“Wait- so are you and Karl together or not?” Dream questioned.
“Uhhh, let you know when I find out? Do I get the money if I figure it out?”
“Oh my god (y/n).” Tubbo was trying not to laugh himself as Tommy continued to lose his shit.
“Yeah,” You looked over to where Karl was half asleep, leaning against you, “I’ve said it before, and I guess I’ll say it again, it’s just some unspoken thing.”
^^
Music filled the apartment when you entered, some old song by Sinatra, and Karl was dancing around the living room as you pulled off your coat and mask.
“Are you listening to Sinatra?” You questioned, setting the rest of your things down.
“Come dance with me!” He giggled.
You rolled your eyes, still smiling as you grabbed his hand, letting the other come to rest on his shoulder, “God, it’s been so long since I’ve dance.”
“Come on, you remember don’t you?”
You chuckled, “Back, side, forward, back. Technically this isn’t a waltzing song though.”
“You can waltz to anything if you try hard enough,” Karl insisted, “Ready, and- one two three, one two three...”
You fell into step, quietly humming along to the song as you moved in a slow arc around the room.
“..And- spin out...” Karl murmured, gently spinning you out to the side, and you paused for a a moment before he tugged on you arm, causing you to spin back in, finding yourself, face to face with him.
You laughed nervously, suddenly blushing at the feeling of his arms around you.
“What are we?” Karl asked softly, “Like, what is- this?”
“Some unspoken thing.” Your voice was just as low, suddenly the weight of the hand resting on your lower back seeming to double.
He looked at your lips, then back at your eyes, and you nodded softly, leaning in and pressing your lips together.
Your arms drifted around his waist as he pulled you closer, before you separated, smiling.
“Does that mean it’s spoken now?” Karl asked.
You grinned, “Course.”
Later, after spending the rest of the night like any other you were cuddled up together on the couch, watching the newest episode of survivor, and you pretended not to notice as he gushed to someone through text.
Your phone began to buzz with venmo notifications, and Karl looked at you confused, “(y/n), why is everyone paying you?”
You chuckled, “Reaping the benefits of our friends conspiring in a discord call that was left open.”
After the kiss you had sent one text to a group chat; ‘I figured it out: pay up bitches.’

I Can’t Sleep Without You || Ivar x reader || Modern
This is my fic created for @ofmanderley’s writing challenge. My prompt was: It's 4:03 and I can't sleep without you next to me.
First of all I need to apologize because I am SUPER late with my work but life was kinda crazy and writing block wasn’t kind!
Hope you will like it!
Being with Ivar Ragnarsson wasn't an easy task to perform. He was a man of a short temper; he could be cruel and mean but thankfully for him you were out of the reach of his anger. Ivar always did his best to keep his raging nerves away from you. For him, you were his little treasure, a lovely woman who was patient enough to even try to form any kind of relationship with him.
You got used to this life and no matter what everyone said, you stayed by his side.
Of course you didn't do this because Ivar forced you or blackmailed you. The love towards this man was simply too strong within you.
After two years of being together you learned that behind that huge, thick wall he built around himself was a suffering, lonely man that craved to be loved.
____________________________
There was one thing you loved to do right after work - paying a visit in the local cafe. It was a quiet, little, cozy place. You sat at your favourite table and placed your usual order - a cup of coffee and a piece of pie.
Last thing you expected that day was to see a familiar face.
"Y/N, I didn't expect to see you here," Bjørn smiled, sitting in the chair right in front of you.
"Hi, Bjørn," you greeted him, returning the smile. "How are you doing?"
Eldest Ragnarsson nodded. "Oh, I am doing just fine. Since I have a break at work, I decided to get myself a coffee and something sweet."
____________________________
"So, when do you have this big game of yours?," Ubbe asked, looking into his phone.
"Seriously? I am going on and on about it for weeks now. It's this weekend, Saturday to be exact," Hvitserk rolled his eyes; he grew annoyed by repeating himself on and on.
"Forgive him. I guess the family takes a lot out of our dear brother," Ivar chuckled.
All three of them walked down the street.
It was the first time in months when they could just meet and go out. Even if they didn't plan anything crazy, it still was nice to get reunited.
"I at least have a family, Ivar. You and Y/N could think about it as well," Ubbe shrugged, placing the phone back in his pocket. "Mother is still talking about it."
"Mother will talk. We both feel comfortable with how things are for now. I am not pushing her and she is not pushing me, to anything. We just live the best of our lives and we both are happy about that," Ivar answered, nodding.
"I mean, that's sound fair," Hvitserk commented.
Boys quickly changed the subject to something far way interesting to talk about. They walked lively as they talked about some stuff.
The nice atmosphere lasted until Hvitserk stopped in front of a little cafe. Through the cafe's big window he spotted a familiar person, actually two to be exact.
You were sitting there, talking with Bjørn and giggling like a schoolgirl.
"Yo, Ivar? Isn't it Y/N?”
Ubbe and Ivar looked over their shoulders, and then joined Hvitserk.
Ivar frowned as soon as he spotted you.
Of course you going out wasn't a problem for him, you were a free woman after all but meeting with Bjørn? Out of all the people?! Fucking Bjørn. What else?! Maybe you were doing it regularly behind his back?
"I am going back home. Whatever idea you two had, go without me, I’m passing," crippled, young man muttered, tightening the grip on his crutch.
There was no reason to argue with Ivar at that point. They could see that he was pissed and arguing with angry Ivar was like teasing a bull with a red cape, it was the last thing they really needed that day or ever.
Ubbe and Hvitserk just shook their heads and then slowly walked away.
____________________________
You had no idea how long you sat there but you couldn't help it. Talking with Bjørn was really captivating. While listening to one of his stories you looked at your watch. "Oh, my! Bjørn, I am so sorry but I should go. I still have plans."
Bjørn looked at you and nodded slowly. “Yeah, sure. It was really nice to see you."
"Same! We need to meet up one day. Bye!," You quickly paid and left the cafe.
____________________________
The walk home was calm, you even texted Ivar that you are on the way back but for some reason he didn't respond. Maybe this should be a red flag but you shrugged it off, he probably was still with his brothers.
You didn't expect to see him in the flat. He was sitting on the couch, tapping his fingers angrily. It was more than obvious that he was mad.
"Love? Did something happen?," You asked, taking your jacket off.
"I don't know. You tell me, love."
Walking into the living room you looked at him with confusion written on your face. At this point you had no idea what he meant.
"What? You gonna stand there and make a fool out of me? You thought I won't find you? I wonder how long you go behind my back!,” Ivar growled, getting up from the couch.
Then it suddenly hit you. Did he see you in the cafe? After all he was out with Hvitserk and Ubbe, so there was a slight chance he did.
"Ivar. It's not like that. I was in a cafe and Bjørn just happened to be there as well."
"He? Happened to be there?," Ivar chuckled darkly. "You are blind, stupid or both!"
His behaviour was getting out of hand but his accusations were too much for you to handle.
"Excuse me? Watch your words, Ivar."
"Me?! Watch my words?! These are words of truth! He was following you those fucking eyes ever since I brought you home for the first time. Ever since that day he accidentally happened to be in places that you are!," Ivar growled, shaking his head. "Of course you had to fall for this. What's next?! Are you gonna fuck him? Or Maybe Hvitserk?”
You went silent. How could he even have thought about something like that? He was hard to live with but you would never cheat on him, no matter how moody or annoying he was. His words cut you deeply.
The lack of response meant as much as a yes for him.
"Fuck it. I am leaving, no idea when I will be back," Ivar muttered and walked to a hanger to grab his jacket before leaving.
The door slammed loudly that you literally jumped in the place.
____________________________
House without Ivar seemed empty.
Maybe it was stupind to miss him after this argument but you couldn't help it. You really loved that man, no matter how moody he was. Even if it was hard to love him, you knew that he was different deep inside.
Laying in bed alone was odd, without his body next to yours. He always was there, mostly complaining about his legs or just talking about his day and how annoying his brothers were.
Sighing, you took his pillow and hugged it tightly, you wanted him back but he needed time to cool down. Looking at the clock helped you realize how sleepless your night was. It was almost morning.
____________________________
Ivar also couldn't sleep. He just lied in bed, smoking and looking into the ceiling. Aslaug would prabobly murder him for smoking inside the house but he didn't care, it's not like she would kick her crippled son out of the house.
Puffing out the smoke he watched it disappearing in the air.
He already missed you, so fucking much. Ivar looked at the bedside table and grabbed his phone to check the time.
____________________________
Trying to get some sleep, you laid on the bed, with eyes closed and Ivar's pillow under your head.
Suddenly, your phone buzzed.
You sat up and grabbed it; maybe it was Hvitserk? Or Ubbe? Maybe Aslaug? Maybe something happened to Ivar? You simply had to know.
To your own surprise, it was text from Ivar himself.
Ivar ❤️😈: It's 4:03 and I can't sleep without you next to me.
Chuckling, you felt the wave of relief washing over you. He was alive.
You: I can say the same. Where are you?
Ivar ❤️😈: I am at my parent's house.
You: I am happy that you are safe.
Meantime Ivar blonked looking at the screen. You were happy he was safe? You were worried about him.
Ivar ❤️😈: Were you worried?
You: Of course I was, dummy. I am always worried. Listen, I just want you to know that I don't care about Bjørn. All I care about is you, Ivar. Always and forever.
He looked at the text. You didn't have a reason to hurt him in any way, you always were patient with him. Even when he was a total asshole. No matter if the day was regular or filled with pain, you just were there for him.
Maybe the fear of losing you just clouded his judgement? Bjørn wasn't like him, he was a strong and healthy man when he was just a cripple. Who the hell would pick a cripple over a healthy man?!
He was jealous and scared but it was time to fix it.
____________________________
You waited at the message but nothing came. Maybe he just fell asleep or didn't care about your empty (for him at least) arguments. After giving him fifteen minutes, you send another text to make sure he is okay, and surprisingly you heard the sound of the SMS notification in the flat.
Ivar opened the door to your shared bedroom and rested his weight on the crutch, looking at you. Without any word he walked to the bed and sat down. He removed his braces, clothes, and soon you were wrapped in a tight hug.
"I am sorry," Ivar whispered.
You nuzzled to him. "It's fine."
"It's not, Y/N. I hurt you... All because of my insecurities. I was furious, he is Bjørn, big, strong, healthy. I am none of that, and you are beautiful, special. You deserve better,``he muttered, nuzzling to you.
While listening to him, you undone his bun and moved your hand through his hair. "Silly! I love you. I love you so much, no matter what. You are hard to deal with sometimes, that’s true but I still love you."
"You are too good to me, you know that?”
Giggling, you gently pulled on his hair, earning a soft growl from him. "You should be grateful and not point it out," you kissed his forehead. "We should get some sleep."
Ivar nodded, hugging you tightly. "Yeah, you are right."
Soon, both of you fell asleep, embracing each other tightly.

Jax Teller x Daughter Reader
“You gonna actually behave for your father this week?” You mum asked as you packed your bag.
“Maybe, depends if he pisses me off or not” you shrugged.
The thing was your mum and dad split about 4 years ago, a year after Abel was born. They had you at a young age, at 15 to be precise, you was now 18 and had seen their relationship completely fall apart, you saw how he treated your mum towards the end of the relationship and you hated it, you hated how he made your mum feel, how you saw the whole thing. However you were grateful Abel was still too young to understand what was going on.
“Y/N please, I know you don’t get along with him but he is your dad at the end of the day” mum sighed.
“Not gonna change my opinion on him” you laughed.
Even though your parents weren’t together anymore they never actually filed for a divorce.
“Just try” mum said placing her hand on your shoulder “for Abel at least, it’s hard enough on him as it is”
“And it’s not hard for me mum” you spat “try going through school where everyone is obsessed with the sons, constantly badgering me about them, about dad, asking if the fucking rumours are true”
You knew that your mum wasn’t completely innocent in the whole relationship break down. So you had an attitude with them both.
The drive to Teller-Morrow was silent, neither you or your mum spoke because you were your father’s daughter at the end of day, your mum always said it was like having a female Jax in the house, the way you held yourself, your attitude, your temper. So no words were spoken just for Abel’s sake, he didn’t need to see his sister and mum biting each other’s heads off.
Climbing out of the car, you grabbed your bag from the boot, before wandering off to find your uncles, at least you had a good relationship with them, it was just the relationship with your dad that was rocky.
You didn’t get it, he was such a good father to Abel, but with you it was a different story, one of his biggest regrets was you seeing the breakdown happen, all the arguments that happened when you were younger. Since then you saw the man that you once saw as your hero as the bad guy.
“Hey kiddo” Jax grinned, opening his arms to you.
“Whatever dad” you huffed walking by him, dumping your bag on the picnic bench before placing a cigarette in your mouth.
“She’s in a mood, sorry Jax” you heard mum say, making you roll your eyes. “Give her a couple of days and she should calm down”
“She’s so much like me it’s scary” he sighed as he watched you laugh with Tig and Happy.
“If you’re gonna talk about me can you at least go somewhere where I can’t bloody hear you” you snapped not looking at them.
Jax knew that with both his kids being here with him for the week, he was going to try his hardest to mend the bridges that had once been burnt. He wanted nothing more than getting his little girl back.
“I will speak with her” Jax nodded as he took Abel into his arms, who was grinning at the sight of his daddy.
At least one of his kids didn’t hate him.
However he had a plan, he knew you loved bikes, so he had one sat in the garage waiting to be restored and he was hoping it was something you could do together and then he could teach you to ride. He knew it wouldn’t magically fix the relationship but at least it would give you a memory that wasn’t bad.
Your mum had now left, which meant you were stuck with your dad for the next week, no doubt it would be a week of you looking after Abel, it always was when you were here, the club came before you. It always had and always would.
“Table in 5” Jax shouted as he walked into the club, he didn’t miss the eye roll that came from you, he knew what you thought, you had only been here 10 minutes and he was putting the club before you. But this time would be different.
“Okay so everyone knows my relationship with Y/N is very much on the rocks right now” Jax sighed running his hand over his face. “And I know it’s my fault and I want to fix that, so this week I only want to be involved in club business if the shit has hit the fan. Anything else speak to Chibs, I need to fix things with my little girl before it is too late”
Everyone nodded, they knew how much Jax loved you, you was his first born at the end of the day and it killed him knowing that you hated him.
“Anything we can do to help we are here” Happy nodded.
“Thanks Hap but this is something I need to do on my own, I created this mess so I need to fix it” Jax sighed “If it can be fixed”
It was now Wednesday and Jax still hadn’t made any progress, the bike lay untouched in the garage, and you hadn’t spoken more than a few words a day to him.
“Uncle Hap am I being a bitch?” You sighed looking up at him as you lit a smoke.
“Honestly kiddo, I know where you are coming from but he is the only dad you are gonna get” Happy said placing his hand on yours. “I know the reasons you have for hating Jax but he misses his little girl, I’m not saying forgive him straight away but stop shutting him out”
“I miss my dad” you sighed “but you didn’t hear me say that”
“My lips are sealed” Happy nodded “you know he took a step back from the club this week to spend time with you and Abel”
“I didn’t know” you sighed running your hand over your face.
“I think he wants to restore a bike or something with you” Hap smiled kissing your head “he’s in the garage”
Trudging into the garage with your head hung low, you felt guilty about how you went off at dad this morning.
“I’m sorry” you mumbled, not looking up.
You heard him sigh and his footsteps getting closer to you.
Talk about irony, the radio had started playing bad husband, scoffing as dad placed his hand on your shoulder.
You can be a liar and a good father A good dad, but a bad husband
“Guess the song is 90% right” you sighed “you are a good father to Abel at least”
“Hey look at me kiddo” Dad said lifting your chin. “My biggest regret in life was letting you see all the fights between me and your mum. I know that has done so much damage to our relationship but I never stopped loving your or your mum okay”
You stayed silent, you didn’t know what to say.
Forever be a hero in my eyes, But there’s always another side. To a good father. A great dad, but a bad husband
“Look me and your mum still love each other and we probably always will” he sighed “we just don’t work well together okay but that doesn’t mean I stopped loving you”
All I want is for us not to hurt. And it’s been an exhaustive search to find the words
The song was basically saying everything you couldn’t.
But I’m not so sure how to close this. I just don’t know how some people can be so good At one thing and so fucked at a whole ‘nother, shit, it’s no wonder
You both just stood there not saying a word as Jax pulled you into his arms holding you tight.
“I’m not saying we have to go back to being as close as we once were but I want a chance, a chance to mend the bridges I burnt, I want to be in your life and not as someone you hate” Jax whispered.
Nodding your head, you sniffed as a tear fell down your cheek, this was the most you had talked in a year. All you wanted to hear over the past year was that your dad still loved you.
“You don’t have to say anything yet sweetheart” dad whispered kissing your head “now what do you say to helping your old man fix this bike up and then I would like it if you let your old man teach you how to ride”
“I’d like that” you mumbled.
The next few days flew by and your mum had arrived to pick you and Abel up. Pushing yourself off the bench you walked over to her with a slight smile on your face.
“Come on, let’s get you home” mum said.
Glancing over to your dad you smiled softly before turning back to your mum.
“Actually mum, I think I’m gonna stick around here a bit longer” you nodded feeling Jax place his hand on your shoulder squeezing it softly. “I wanna stay with dad, we still have a bike to finish”
-
Your mum stood staring at you, confusion spread all over her face.
“You want to willingly stay?” She questioned
“Yup” you nodded.
“Who are you and what have you done with my daughter?” She laughed before turning to Jax “you okay with her staying?”
“Course I am” he beamed at the fact you wanted to stay with him longer.
As soon as you said bye to your mum, you headed back into the garage leaving Jax stood there in his own world.
“Come on dad the bike isn’t gonna fix its self” you laughed rolling your sleeves up.
The hours flew by and you was both covered in grease, Chibs walked outside hearing all the laughter coming from the garage, a smile formed on his face as he snapped a photo of the two of you before walking back into the club house.
“Okay a know normally a would bring this ta table but no one is to disturb Jackie Boy, a don’t care wha it is, if it’s club business, Ye arms fallen off or Ye are on fire, ye come ta me” Chibs smiled leaning against the bar. “Tha is until further notice, this is wha they both need”
Everyone nodded in agreement, it was nice to see you and Jax not at each other’s throats and they knew that the fact you wanted to stay here meant you really wanted to rebuild the relationship
Standing back from the bike something clicked.
“Why does this bike look so familiar?” You asked.
“Well princess it was your grandads” Jax grinned draping his arm around your shoulder.
“JT’s” you said looking up and he nodded. “Wait and you are just letting me have once we have fixed her up?”
“That’s the plan” Jax laughed “he would have wanted you to have it and it’s better than it sitting gathering dust”
You were in awe, you knew how much this bike meant to him. Wrapping your arms around him you gave him a tight hug.
Neither of you talked about much other than the bike, outside of the garage you were slowly building things back up, you both knew it would take longer than a week but it was a start.
“So your mum says you’ve been getting into trouble at college?” He asked as you were packing the tools up.
“Meh” you shrugged “someone said something, I didn’t like it so I fucking punched them and broke there nose. No biggie”
Jax couldn’t help but smirk, you were exactly like him, in so many ways.
“You can’t say anything dad you taught me talking was boring when you can fight it out” just as you said it an idea popped into your head. Spinning round on the balls of your feet you grinned at your dad.
“No, nope happening” He laughed when he realised what you was thinking “me and you aren’t going at it in the ring” he chuckled.
“Why do you think you will lose old man” you taunted.
“Nope it’s not that” he said looking up “I am not boxing with my daughter”
“You’re just scared because you know I’m gonna beat your ass” you giggled squaring up to him.
He knew you weren’t gonna back down. You was a Teller at the end of the day.
“Fine but if you get hurt you are telling your mum it was your idea” Jax sighed in defeat.
And with that you ran off into the clubhouse to tell everyone.
It was now 7pm and Tig was wrapping your fists.
“You sure about fighting your dad kiddo?” He asked.
“Uncle Tiggy I’m sure” you nodded “we need this, well I need this. If I’m gonna let go of the past I need to do this”
“Okay then” he smiled kissing your fist “beat the shit out of your old man”
You were now standing face to face with your dad in the ring. He knew what was happening, and he wasn’t going to fight back, he had overheard what you said to Tig. So if beating the shit out of him was what you needed to forgive him then that is what he was going to let you do.
Punch after punch, you felt the anger flow through your fists, you were fuelled by every bad memory, everything he did and he just let the punches keep coming.
Your emotions got the better of you as you scream, pounding your fists against his chest as you burst into tears. As soon as this happened Jax wrapped his arms around you, dropping to his knees holding you tight.
“That’s it princess let it all out, all the anger, all the pain” he whispered rubbing your back. “I’m never gonna leave you okay, no matter what happens with me and your mum, you will always have your old man in your corner. My biggest regret is you saw everything happen, I never wanted you to feel like I loved Abel more than you, you are my little girl, my princess and I love you”
Once you had calmed down, you felt a weight had been lifted off your shoulders, you no longer felt an immense hatred towards your dad.
It had been a couple of days after the ‘fight’ and you had actually started to open up. The bike was finished and you were just putting the tools away.
“I want to drop out of college” you said “it’s really not for me, I struggle with the exams and coursework”
“You know whatever you decide I will support you” Jax smiled softly at you, hee knew where you was coming from, he was exactly the same when it came to tests and the theory behind things. “If you did drop out what would you do?”
“Actually I wanna be a mechanic” you said looking up. “Maybe I could work here”
“Why don’t you sleep on the idea and if you really want to drop out then we will get it all sorted” he said kissing your head. “Now what do you say we take her for a spin?”
“You think I’m ready for the roads” you laughed.
“You are a natural” he grinned tossing you your helmet “it’s in your blood”
The rest of the day was spent riding round the streets charming, a smile on your face and your relationship with your dad well on the road to being what it once was. Never in a million years you would have thought that restoring JT’s bike would actually restore your relationship as well.

Prompt: Redemption
It can be anything, but I'm really hoping for cousin!Morro.
Tysm! This one was very interesting to write, but I enjoyed it!
on the edge of nowhere
Summary: You can only save those who want to be saved.
As Morro is trapped in the clutches of the Preeminent, being pulled towards a watery fate, his old Sensei offers a hand.
Morro takes it.
But if there’s one thing that he’s learned throughout his life, it's that the path towards redemption is never a straight line.
You can only save those who want to be saved.
Morro knew he didn’t deserve to be saved.
But that didn’t mean he didn’t want to be.
Now, staring out over the mountain, sitting on the edge of the charred remains of his home- uh, Wu’s old monastery- he wondered if taking Sensei’s hand had been the right decision after all.
It wasn’t like he belonged here. What he had done to Lloyd had been awful, he knew- and he was totally not feeling guilty about that at all, the punk deserved it for stealing everything from him- but the point was that Wu’s precious ninja didn’t want him around after he had hurt their beloved leader. He knew Wu would make them accommodate him if he requested to stay, but… Morro didn’t want that. He didn’t want to be Wu’s little pet.
There had been a time when Morro had thought of his sensei like a father.
Not anymore.
There was a distant roar and a flapping of wings. Morro sighed, putting his head in his hands. You’d think that possessing someone and scarring them for life would make them stay as far away from you as possible.
Unfortunately, Lloyd Garmadon was no normal person.
“I had a feeling you’d be here,” the kid said, walking up behind him. Morro noticed how he stopped a few feet away, sticking his hands in his pockets and gazing out towards the horizon, refusing to look at Morro directly.
Not that he blamed him.
“What are you going to do next?” Lloyd asked suddenly. “You can’t stay here forever. This place is in ruins.”
Morro shot him a glare. “If you’re suggesting that I come live with you guys, you can forget it.”
Lloyd looked at him for the first time. “Why would I suggest that? Have you forgotten the last several weeks?”
“You’re the one forgetting. Why you would even get within a mile of me, I have no idea.”
Lloyd’s jaw set. “I’m not scared of you, Morro.”
He snorted. “No, you’re not. I’ll give you that, at least. You may be weak and pathetic, but you’ve got guts.”
“Oh gee, thanks.”
Morro sighed. “Enough with the small talk. What are you doing here, Lloyd?”
“Sensei wanted me to give you this.”
Morro glanced over at him and sucked in his breath. Lloyd was holding out a red kite, embroidered in gold with the face of a dragon. Gingerly, he took it, running his hands across the fabric slowly. It was old and worn, but in surprisingly good condition, without a single bend or tear. It looked as if someone had preserved it.
“Old man actually kept it,” he murmured to himself. Guess he’s more sentimental than he lets on.
Lloyd shot him a look, and Morro froze. “I mean, old man, as in he’s old! Not like, a dad way or anything, that would be weird, he’s not my dad, that would make you like my cousin-” he stopped at the look on Lloyd’s face. “Yeah, I’ll just shut up now.”
Lloyd’s nose wrinkled. “Don’t you ever call me your cousin again.”
“I wasn’t! All I said is that you weren’t my cousin!” “You said it again!” “Oh, so now I’m not even allowed to say cou-”
“Stop!” Morro shot him a toothy grin. “So that annoys you, huh, cousin? Maybe I don’t actually hate it as much as I thought, cousin-”
“Stoppit!” Lloyd slapped his hands over his ears. “I thought you hated me! Do you really want to be part of this wack family?”
“No way,” Morro groaned. “Related to you? I would die.”
“But you’re already-”
“Shut up. I would find a way to die again, because I hate you that much. Besides,” he laughed softly, “We all know I could never be a part of your little group, anyway. You all hate my guts now.”
Lloyd frowned. “Morro-”
“Are you kidding? Do you really soften up at the first sign of a sob story from your enemy? You really are pathetic.”
“We get it. You hate me.”
“The feeling’s mutual, bud. Everyone hates me. I don’t belong with you guys. My mistakes are irredeemable.” Lloyd opened his mouth to reply, but Morro waved a hand at him. “I’m not asking for your sympathy! I’m just… talking. Maybe it will resolve some of those anger issues Sensei always said I had.”
“Morro… you messed up. But you’ve been granted a second chance at life. That’s more than most will ever get. You should be grateful. Don’t waste it.”
“I can’t believe I’m saying this, but you’re right. And I’m not going to get any use out of it here. My place isn’t with Sensei anymore.”
“What does that mean?”
Morro shrugged, standing up. “I dunno. But I need to carve my own path now.”
“Okay, well.” Lloyd looked down at his feet. “Bye.”
Morro grinned at him. “I don’t know how you’ll ever live without me. But uh… yeah. Tell Sensei…” Morro glanced down at the kite, swallowing the lump in his throat. “Um. Tell him I’m not coming back.”
“You’re sure that’s what you wanted to say?”
Ugh, this kid’s habit of meddling in his issues was starting to get on his nerves. “Positive. So, um… I’ll go now.” Eager to end the conversation, Morro turned and began walking down the hill.
“Wait!” He turned, sighing insufferably. “What now?”
“Um.” Lloyd twisted his hands together. “I just wanted to say- no one is irredeemable.”
Morro looked at him. Really, truly looked at him since the first time they had met.
“Fate chose you well.” He swallowed. “Green ninja.”
Lloyd blinked at him, looking taken aback. Before he could come up with some sappy response, Morro turned and began the long descent down the mountain.
He was done with prophecies, done with elemental powers, done with senseis.
It was time to choose his own destiny.

A Story (Alec Volturi x Reader)
You opened your eyes, sitting up straight. Your back was stiff. You were in your bathtub, fully clothed, soaked. The bathwater threatening to spill over and freezing. You frowned. “I need to stop drinking.” You grumbled before rolling out of the tub. You groaned, too sore to even consider standing up. You’d clean the mess later. You crawled into your bedroom before flopping onto the floor. This had to be the last time you drank, it had to be. Better ignoring that you definitely could have drowned, since you were so intoxicated that you tried to take a bath and didn't even take off your clothes. You couldn’t even remember the night before so really, it wasn’t worth it. Whilst you didn’t have a headache, thankfully, you just felt tired...and cold. Phone, where was it? You groaned, a sudden feeling you had left it in the bathroom. You didn't see it around your room and it wasn't in any pockets thankfully. With a sigh, you figured you couldn’t avoid the day any longer, although it would be very nice to try. Regardless, you slowly got up and trudged back into the bathroom.
Your phone was on the floor, next to the bath. A couple of water droplets lay on the screen but remained undamaged...although it had twenty percent battery left. You had two missed calls from Alice. You checked your texts to find none. You decided to call Carlisle who picked up after two rings. “Hello?” “Carlisle, it’s (Y/N).” You said. “Hello, are you okay?” “Yeah, i’m good. I just...do you know if i was drinking last night?” Carlisle seemed amused. “No, why?” “Oh, no reason. I just, woke up weird and tired.” “Im sure you could have done that without alcohol.”You could hear his smile in his voice. You hummed in amusement. “Are you coming to visit today?” “Yeah, I can do that.” “I just wanted to check since you said you would yesterday?” Carlisle responded. “I did? I must have forgotten but yeah, i can do that. I’ll come over later. I’m going to take a nap first, okay?” “Alright, I’ll see you soon.” “Bye, Carlisle.”
When you arrived at the Cullen’s, they seemed as though they were waiting. “The Volturi are coming to visit.” Carlisle informed you. “The who?” You made a face of confusion. “The Volturi.” “I’m going to assume thats some vampire friends i don’t know about.” You shrugged. Carlisle turned to you with a look of confusion of his own. “You’ve-” He paused. Carlisle's eyes widened, a sickening thought rushed through him. Panic rushed through Carlisle realising the likelihood of his thought become more and more likely. "Stay here for a while. We have guests, I believe you'll have met them before." Carlisle swallowed hard trying not to scare you. You lightly shrugged.
A group of seven arrived, all dressed in black and grey with cloaks, varying in the same colours. You could tell they were an older coven with how they moved. You were given their names and noted the odd looks they gave you. You figured it was down to being human, you were a big no-no from what you remember. "Do you know these people?" Carlisle asked you before putting his hand into Aro's in a weird bizarre handshake. You shook your head. "No. We haven't met." Carlisle inhaled.
This made Esme step towards you. "(Y/N), why don't you help me in the kitchen?" She smiled. "Carlisle will get our guests settled in before you make their acquaintance." You nodded. "Sure thing, Esme." Without a second glance you turned, heading for the kitchen, Esme sending Carlisle a glance.
Half an hour passed and Esme led you to the living room where the Volturi awaited your presence. Your eyes immediately shot to Carlisle, nervous about meeting his friends but he nodded in encouragement. The leader in the middle was the first to greet you. "You must be young (Y/N), we've heard so much about you. We are delighted to meet you. My name is Aro." "Hi...it's nice to meet you too." You nodded. He held out a hand and you hesitantly reached out thinking it was a handshake. Instead, he cradled your hand in his own briefly. A flicker of an unrecognisable emotion passing his face before his wide smile returned. "These are my brothers, Caius and Marcus." The two men beside him nodded to you and you offered them shy smiles. He gestured to who you were told were their guards. "This is Jane, Alec, Demetri and Felix." You nodded. "Hi." You said nervously as the four nodded at you. Later that night you huddled into your seat. "So you guys have been around for a long time?" You asked looking over the Volturi members. "Yes. Quite." Aro smiled slightly. "Do you guys have any good stories? Surely you've got at least one after all this time." The Volturi looked around amongst each other, Marcus kept his head down whilst the Cullen's looked around uncertain of how to continue the conversation. Marcus spoke up, meeting your gaze. "I have a story. It was quite some time ago but I believe it's one our coven cherishes." All eyes were on Marcus, uncertain just what he was doing. However, you seemed pleased. "I'd love to hear it...if you're willing to tell it." "I believe it would be a good one to tell." Marcus nodded. "This is a story about a human we once knew, one who after all this time will continue to be very special to us."
(Y/N) caught Alec in their sights as he approached the door to the spare bedroom. "Alec!" They cried out with a grin. "You're here!" "So are you." Alec said peeking around the door. "What are you doing here? You don't live here." Alec couldn't help the amused smirk building upon his face as he watched (Y/N) struggle to reach for something on top of the closet. "I'm visiting but...! I can't reach my folder! I left it here the last time I stayed over. It has all my documents in there." With a defeated sigh, (Y/N) began to drag themselves down the closet doors. "I'd offer my assistance but I don't think I can't do anything without damaging furniture." Alec pondered. Alec's eyes suddenly glinted, clearly having an idea. "Come here." Alec bent down. "What am I doing?" They asked with confusion. "You're going to sit on my shoulders and I'll lift you up." Alec responded. (Y/N) made a noise of protest but couldn't think of a reason why. They couldn't necessarily tell him you were too heavy, tall or would hurt him given Alec was inhumanly strong. "...Promise you won't drop me?" They asked him. Alec looked unimpressed. "I have no reason to drop you now, come on." (Y/N) whined quietly in defeat once again moving to Alec.
As they got into position they looked down at him nervously. "You're sure I won't hurt you?" (Y/N) asked and Alec rolled his eyes, wrapping his hands around their ankles and standing up with ease. (Y/N) squealed, although it seemed Alec was right. He wouldn't drop them. "Oh it's all the way at the back, I bet Emmett did that. Can you take a step forward please?" Alec complied and suddenly the folder was in arm's length. (Y/N) grabbed it. "Thank you!" "Did you know that it's very likely you couldn't get down now that I have a hold of your ankles?" Alec smirked and (Y/N)’s smile of accomplishment vanished. "You'd get tired quickly." They retorted. "Would I? Shall we see how long I last?" Alec responded. "If you don't put me down, I'll eventually pee on you. It's inevitable." Alec immediately pulled a face of disgust, crouching back down and letting (Y/N) stand up. "So are you visiting the Cullen's or have you broke in? Oh! Oh! Did you run away from the Volturi and so have sought shelter with the Cullen's?" They asked. He scoffed. "My coven is visiting to check the progress of the hybrid." Alec answered.
Later that night, (Y/N) and Alec were outside, sitting on the Cullen's balcony floor. "Why do you need those? Those documents?" Alec asked turning his head towards them. "Oh, it's just stuff to keep the state happy. It's documents saying that Carlisle is my emergency contact and stuff, he's my legal guardian though I'm not living with him. I'm in contact with him frequently and he gives me money for my house. All of that stuff. Boring really." "You still haven't been in contact with your parents?" Alec asked and (Y/N) smiled at him sadly before shaking their head. "You should reach out, (Y/N). The argument was a typical one. They have no reason to hold a grudge against their own child for this long over something so trivial." "It's a little more complicated than that. Although I guess deep down, I like to think that maybe I do have their forgiveness." They admitted. "You didn't do anything wrong. Besides, for the last option, you could always make them forget the argument ever happened and avoid the topic forever." Alec smirked at (Y/N) who playfully shoved him. "Thanks Alec." They said with sarcasm. "It'll be okay, I assure you." Alec said to them. "They'll come around if they aren't already waiting for you to come back to them."
(Y/N)’s gift was phenomenal. Unique but dangerous due to its impact. They could make people forget things, everything really. Whether it were, events memories or thoughts, none of them were exempt. The only person it didn't work on was themselves. Since meeting the Cullen's and eventually Alec, (Y/N) had better control of their gift making them a very tempting addition to Aro's collection. Although that was still very much in discussion. Whilst they'd have to be changed at some point, it wasn't consensus that they were to join the Volturi. As a matter of fact, it was highly debated among both covens instead.
"You talk about my ability like you can trust me with it. I'm still learning, you could be forgotten at any time." Alec chuckled. "First of all, it doesn't work on yourself. Secondly, you don't forget someone like me." Alec's smile faded. "Not for good reasons, might I add." "Good reasons for me... you've been nicer to me lately." (Y/N) said. "I'm trying...it's not your fault you're human." Alec smirked slightly. (Y/N) narrowed your eyes on him playfully. "It's all I can ask." Alec wasn't the most open individual nor the kindest. He certainly had nothing nice to say about (Y/N) when they first met. Although over time, he gradually warmed up to them- even if it was reluctantly. Now (Y/N) felt like Alec understood them better than anyone in the world and accepted them. It made their bond to him stronger than most bonds could ever be. (Y/N) was confident that a piece of them would always be connected to Alec, nothing could divide them from him.
None of the Volturi really understood why Carlisle had a form of guardianship over (Y/N) and what a conflict with their parents actually meant for them to no longer be around their parents. Whilst the Volturi wanted to respect their privacy, it was important to them if (Y/N) were to become a vampire eventually. It was necessary to have the details. Although even being close with Alec didn't give them any answers as (Y/N) never told him any complete details.
There was an argument about (Y/N) wanting to be independent, treated less like a child and since then, they hadn't been near them since. Whilst this seemed logical that (Y/N) left, it didn't make sense why their parents hadn't reached out to them in so long. So much so (Y/N) was convinced that they couldn't be forgiven.
Marcus asked (Y/N) about their parents when talking one night. "Do they know about your gift?" He asked. (Y/N) wanted to wince at the reference of their ability being a 'gift' when there was very little actually pleasant about it. "No, they don't. I never told them and after that argument, I guess I had made up my mind they could never know." "Do you miss them?" Marcus asked. "I try to forget about them if I'm honest." (Y/N) answered. This response made Marcus tilt his head slightly. They looked at him, really scrutinizing him. Marcus was the most kind and gentle of the Volturi leaders. (Y/N) couldn't help but trust him, especially after he came to defence of their friendship with Alec to anyone who questioned it. Marcus had always made it clear that the bond Alec shared with them was undeniable. "Can I tell you the full story?" "If you wish." Marcus said quietly.
(Y/N) could remember the moment that their house stopped being your home. Everything was as it always had been. Signs of life, nothing missing from it's usual place. However, it was no longer welcoming as it had been before. Even the photographs of (Y/N) and their family, scattered around the place. Things were different now. Instead of a family, there were just memories of one. It took some time for (Y/N) to understand how their gift worked. Although they were forced to learn the hard way. (Y/N) had been arguing with their parents when (Y/N) said something about forgetting (Y/N) ever existed. Their parents did. They never had any children by that name. Nor had they ever seen (Y/N) before. All memories of them gone in a matter of moments. From then on (Y/N) could only see their parents from a distance, outside their house. Their parents wondered why they had pictures with the strange person in their house and got rid of them too. "I wanted to remember every inch of them as they were. Their eyes, nose, mouth, hair. Every tiny detail, because I knew after today. I'd never see them again." (Y/N) told Marcus. "Why are you so determined to pretend this didn't happen rather than embrace it and carry on?" Marcus asked. There was a moment of silence. Neither of the two looking at one another. "You rejected Corin's gift when offered comfort after your loss. Why?" (Y/N) responded. Marcus thought about the answer but it didn't require much thought. He had spent decades thinking about that decision and why he made it. "Because I wanted to feel the pain. I didn't want to feel content about her death." (Y/N) thought over his answer before replying, sadness almost radiating from them. "See that's where you and I differ. I want nothing more than to forget." Their voice was quieter as they looked down at their hands. It was safe to say, Alec was furious at (Y/N) when he found they had left out such an important detail when it came to why their parents didn't speak to them. (Y/N) had more than one chance to tell him and they didn't. It felt like a betrayal, like they had lied. Alec only ever asked (Y/N) to be honest with him, no secrets. This secret was a pretty big one at the very least. (Y/N), on the other hand, didn't think anything wrong with that. They were allowed some privacy like every other person. They were sure Alec didn't tell them everything so why should they share something they simply hadn't been ready to speak about until that moment. It was how the argument had began and it seemed the more defensive (Y/N) got, the more angry Alec became.
"This isn't a big deal, you're making something out of nothing!" (Y/N) said with exasperation. "It is something, (Y/N)! You didn't trust me with the full story and you told Marcus! Even Carlisle knew!" "Carlisle had to know!" (Y/N) argued back. "If he didn't I'd have been taken by social services! I told Marcus because I was ready to talk about it and I knew he wouldn't make a big deal out of it! It was nothing to do with trust!" Alec scoffed sending them a sneer. That was when their anger had begun to really build. "Am I honestly supposed to believe that you tell me everything!?" (Y/N) snapped. "That's different! There are parts of my life that aren't necessary and would only scare you." "Like your complete lack of trust and hatred towards humans for being burned at the stake? Like the dark, twisted things you and your coven have done in the name of justice?" "You don't know what you're talking about." Alec said icily. "You're just a little human who thinks they know everything when they know nothing. I have given you no reason not to trust me-" "Alec, I didn't do anything to you! Ever! I didn't accuse you of witch craft! So what did I ever do to you like the rest of the human population!?" Alec laughed darkly. "Of course, you wouldn't understand. How could I expect you to? You're only human."
(Y/N) was stunned into silence before fury took over them. "You are cold." (Y/N) said, anger and disgust in their eyes. "Cold and empty. So empty you have to suck out the life of everyone around you to feel even an ounce of emotion. Perhaps that is what your village saw in you! Perhaps that's what Aro sees in you! A monster just like the rest of your coven!" (Y/N) looked taken aback by their own words, stunned. When they saw the look of growing rage upon Alec's face, they knew they had done it again. Like they had with your parents, they lashed out with hurtful words they didn't mean. Alec was very hurt. (Y/N) knew by the emotion overpowering his stoic gaze. "I'm so sorry." (Y/N) whispered, their anger rushing away as they began to feel nothing but guilt. The look Alec gave (Y/N) could kill but instead he began to walk by them. (Y/N) reached out for him, grabbing his hand. "Alec, wait-" They began but gasped as they immediately felt cold numbness crawl up their arm. Alec roughly tore their hand off him and they were so caught off guard that they didn't even notice the slight pain you felt within their fingers. Suddenly (Y/N) felt like they were on fire.
(Y/N) screamed, collapsing to the ground, seeing Jane was now beside her brother. The two watched (Y/N) scream without sympathy. "So that's how you really feel." Jane said simply. Alice and Carlisle were quick to rush by the twins and towards (Y/N). "Enough! Not in my house!" Carlisle barked. The pain stopped, only (Y/N)’s hysterical crying being heard. "I didn't mean it!" They cried out as Alice pulled them into a hug, hushing them. "It's okay." She told (Y/N). "You're okay."
It was obvious that all the Cullen's and the Volturi knew what had happened and surprisingly enough the Volturi also seemed rather angry by (Y/N)’s outburst. Alec had made it known, (Y/N) wasn’t worth his time. (Y/N)’s true feelings had finally come to light. Yet none of the Volturi seemed to believe them when they said it wasn't true. Despite knowing (Y/N) sometimes said things they didn't mean. The last time they had seen their parents being one of them.
It had been Marcus that suggested the two covens separated for the night for some space. Especially since the Volturi hadn't fed yet. However, much to (Y/N)’s surprise, someone of the Volturi had phoned the Cullen's. Whoever it was, was asking on the leaders behalf how they were. If (Y/N) had to guess it was Marcus. If they were hopeful, Alec would want to know too. (Y/N) stared at Carlisle, who stood at the entrance way. "Marcus wants to know if you're okay." Carlisle said. "However I'm not entirely sure what to tell him. So, how are you (Y/N)?" (Y/N) slowly met his eyes. They looked exhausted from how upset they had been. "Tell him what he wants to hear. Tell him that I'm fine." Their voice croaked slightly. "I don't think I can do that." Carlisle said softly. "Why?" (Y/N) responded flatly. "You're asking me to lie for you." Carlisle replied. "He thinks I'm a monster. So it's better he thinks that way." Carlisle began to protest but Esme appeared with the phone. "Would you be willing to speak to him?" Carlisle asked, taking the phone from Esme. Even as Carlisle put it on speaker, Marcus asked if (Y/N) was alright. He even acknowledged that Jane's behaviour wasn't necessary. Somewhat of an apology. However (Y/N) stayed put, simply staring at the phone. After another few moments of silence, Carlisle took the phone off speaker before putting the phone to his ear. "My apologies, Marcus. I don't think they're feeling well enough to come to the phone right now. They appreciate your concern." "Of course, Carlisle." Marcus responded. "I thought it best to express my concern given Jane's gift." Marcus lifted his gaze to the twins, Jane looking indifferent whilst Alec's eyes were latched onto Marcus. "Emotions are high right now, would you appreciate our return tomorrow?" "Of course." Carlisle responded. "I'm going to keep (Y/N) here over night to keep an eye on them but I'm sure they will be just fine." After some more conversation, Marcus bid farewell and hung up the phone.
He turned to Alec. "I assure you, they didn't mean it." "That doesn't matter." Caius snapped. "They still said it." Marcus turned his gaze to Caius. "You suffer from the same flaw Caius. If anyone should be understanding, it's you." "Why should I take the time to understand? They're human. That's a waste of energy." Marcus turned back to Alec. "Trust me. I'd know if there were any truth in their words."
"They're coming back tomorrow?" (Y/N) whispered. Carlisle nodded. "We can take you home before they get here if you like. However, I feel more comfortable keeping an eye on you tonight after..." Carlisle trailed off but (Y/N) knew. After Jane used her ability on them. (Y/N) nodded. They were given the option to stick around the next day. Although (Y/N) declined, deciding they'd go home instead.
"I'll drop you off." Alice said brightly in attempt to keep the mood light. "Thanks." (Y/N) said quietly. Alice, Carlisle and Esme went quiet. "Let's go out the front." Alice smiled. "I'll go and get my keys and meet you at the car okay?" (Y/N) nodded. "Sure." "Come and visit tomorrow." Esme nodded to them with a smile, bringing (Y/N) into a hug. "Okay." They responded quietly, offering her a small brief smile before heading out the door.
Just as the door shut behind (Y/N), the Volturi moved into the living room after being let in by Jasper. Carlisle was quick to welcome them. Before they could ask, Carlisle explained whilst Alice passed by with her keys in hand. "Alice will be back shortly. She's taking (Y/N) home."
Alice grinned at (Y/N) as she walked down the path. "Alright, ready to go?" Even now she was trying to keep the mood light. (Y/N) nodded. "Yeah. Thanks for the ride." "Of course!" Alice responded. (Y/N) kept their eyes on her, not daring to look at the house until they were in the car.
Two days passed and Alec still wasn't speaking to )Y/N). Although (Y/N) figured it would have been best if they were the one to reach out to him given the situation as well as knowing Alec wasn't necessarily one to do any kind of approaching unless it were to kill them. (Y/N) found him alone and decided that was a better opportunity than any. He sat his his back to them, seemingly reading in Carlisle's study. "Alec?" (Y/N) asked quietly. They didn't receive a response, not even the turn of his head. He remained unmoving. "Could we talk for a minute? I want to apologise again. I didn't mean it but I still said it and I shouldn't have. It was an awful thing to say and I'm so sorry." Their words still didn't earn even the turn of Alec's head. "I can't stand not talking to you." (Y/N) began. "You're my best friend and I miss you. I want to make it up to you. To show you that I’m sorry and that I'd never think such a thing of you." (Y/N) still received no response. They sighed. "I don't know what to do here." "What makes you think you can do anything?" Alec's voice was cold. Although (Y/N) considered it progress. Especially as he turned around to look at (Y/N). His face was unforgiving, gaze piercing and his mouth in a tight line. "We both know I'm going to hurt you regardless." Suddenly he was standing and slowly moving towards them. (Y/N) took a step back. "You're scaring me." They said, trying to maintain the distance. He looked at (Y/N) like he did everyone else. He looked at them like he wanted them to burn as he did, like (Y/N) deserved more than he ever did. Alec looked like he most certainly would hurt them or even kill them. "I didn't mean it!" (Y/N) pleaded. "I'm sorry!" Alec glared at (Y/N). "It was my fault. It won't happen again." (Y/N) faltered. "What?" “It’s my fault for thinking you were different from any other disgusting wretched human!” Alec had most certainly returned the favour, his words cut (Y/N) to the core. They felt tears well up in their eyes. "Get out." Alec snarled and they did. Without question.
Another day or so passed and (Y/N) had an idea of how to fix all of it. Once again, (Y/N) waited until he was alone, this time he was outside by the tree line before the woods. "I'm mad at myself too, you know." (Y/N) began, crossing your arms over your chest. "I felt the same way when I made my parents forget about me. The confusion and fear they had to see someone claim to be their child, have photographs with them but have no recollection of them ever existing. I was so angry with myself for saying what I did and I'm even more angry that I did it again but this time to you. I meant what I said Alec. You're my best friend. What I'm trying to say is that I get it, if you hate me. I understand. Although I really do want to try anything I can to make this up to you." His back was still towards (Y/N). "You won't even look at me." (Y/N) said quietly. Alec turned to look at them with an empty stare. "Alec..." (Y/N) trailed off. "I want you to forget this happened." "What?" Alec's eyes narrowed on them. "I want you to be happy. I never wanted to hurt you. So I want you to forget-" "No!" Alec covered his ears and shut his eyes tightly. "Alec, look at me." (Y/N) stepped closer. "No! Get back!" Alec yelled. That was when Carlisle hurried in between them both. "What is it?" Carlisle asked, looking between them both. "They're trying to make me forget!" "It's better this way!" (Y/N) pleaded to Carlisle. "I never meant for any of this and it's hurting him! I can fix it!" "(Y/N), I want you to listen to me very carefully." Carlisle began, blocking them from Alec. “These thoughts, these memories, they don’t belong to you. They are not yours to take." "I-" (Y/N) struggled to respond. Feeling both the eyes of Alec and Carlisle on them. Carlisle put his hands on their shoulders. "This isn't the way." "I can't believe you!" Alec spat. "This is how you want to make it up to me? Wipe my memory and pretend it never happened!?" (Y/N) could see the hatred in Alec's eyes. Any second chance he had considered was long gone.
In that moment (Y/N) gave in. They knew they couldn't fix it. (Y/N) couldn't make it up to him and he wasn't willing to forget. It was over. Jane was the first to storm up to (Y/N) when they came back into the house. She was immediately held back and to their surprise she didn't use her gift. However, she did rant that they were lucky she couldn't slap you at the very least. Although she didn't need to. (Y/N) was suffering enough. They didn't look at anyone, instead walking out the front door. Alec and Carlisle entered the house, Alec yelling in outrage. Carlisle simply wasn't listening to him. His eyes immediately searching for (Y/N). "They left...what happened?" Rosalie asked. Carlisle said nothing, rushing out the door after (Y/N).
It was night time and most certainly not safe for them to walk home alone but they were determined to. Tears running down their cheeks, arms crossed over their chest as they briskly walked down the road. "(Y/N)!" They heard Carlisle call out behind them. (Y/N) didn't respond, continuing to walk away. Suddenly Carlisle was behind them, tugging them back. "(Y/N), it's not safe out here. Come back inside, we can figure-" "No!" (Y/N) shouted back. "Get off of me! I'm going home!" "Let me take you home then, come back to the car." Carlisle said. "I'm not going back in there! I’ve lost everything! It's my fault! I lost my friend, I lost my parents and there's no one else to blame but myself!" (Y/N) yelled. "(Y/N), you are a wonderful person with a remarkable gift. You just need some guidance. We can help you, just come back. I'll take you home!" Carlisle pleaded. "You know what the cruel part about my gift is Carlisle?" (Y/N) said significantly more quiet, an eerie calmness taking over them. "I can't use it on myself. I can make everyone around me forget anything but the one who wants to forget the most is me." (Y/N) took a step forward. "Can you take me home please?" Carlisle nodded.
Outside (Y/N)’s house, Carlisle pulled over. "Come to the house tomorrow. We'll have something figured out by morning." (Y/N) sighed before nodding. "Alright, I'll do it." "This will improve, (Y/N). We'll talk things over with them." Carlisle assured them. "Yeah, just at what cost?" (Y/N) mumbled. "I lost my friend. Alec will never speak to me again." "You don't know that." Carlisle responded hurriedly. "I do." (Y/N) said. "I'm just going to sleep this off. I'll see you tomorrow."
(Y/N) decided to run a bath later that night. Kneeling on the floor they turned on the tap which began to fill the tub. They felt the weight of every decision they had made on their body and no longer could they even cry about it. Whilst (Y/N) thought a bath would be best, they didn't really care about it being too warm or too cold. As a matter of fact, they didn't think further than the action itself.
"They hurt me." Alec ground out. Marcus wanted Alec to see reason. Not only that, Marcus wanted Alec to admit the reality of the situation and not hide from it. It was of no surprise to him considering (Y/N) was the first proper friend Alec had, the closest anyone had ever come to the twins. "Just as you hurt them." Marcus replied. "You've hurt many people, Alec. (Y/N) is one of many on that list. Yet regardless, they want you in their life. They want your friendship. You want to punish them but you don't realise they've already punished themselves. More so than is necessary. Furthermore, you aren't just punishing (Y/N), you're punishing yourself. I know you want to be their friend but you won't let yourself." "They-" "You're torturing yourself as much as your torturing them." Marcus said simply. "I think they frightened you, boy. I think you forgave them the minute they said it and that frightened you." Alec didn't have a response. As much as he tried. He couldn't tell Marcus he was wrong because he wasn't. "I can't trust them." Alec responded. "You can. You simply won't. They said awful things but still want you in their life. Apologizing the minute it was said. You've never experienced that and it bothers you that it makes it difficult to act in your usual response." "I don't know how." Alec said after a moment of silence. "I don't know how to show that I care about them and I don't know how to show it when I forgive them. I'm so used to pushing people away that...I don't know how to let people in." "You tell them." Marcus responded. "Even if it means you need to say it to yourself first. Put down the weight of the past. Even if it's only for them." Silence filled the room. "I forgive them." Alec said under his breath, it was quiet, barely audible but there none the less.
Alice tilted her head, staring at nothing in particular. “What is it Alice?” Jasper asked. “I think i should check on (Y/N).” She responded. “I can’t be sure but i think something is wrong.” “They’re upset.” Carlisle responded. “Do you suspect they’re in danger?” Alice tilted her head again. “I don’t think so. It’s hard to tell, I see them and then it just goes black.” “Why not give them a call?” Esme asked lightly. Alice nodded, immediately going for her phone.
(Y/N)’s phone buzzed beside them, as they sat and watched the running tap. It was a text from Bella, telling them that Jake and the pack were around the area, making sure they knew the Volturi wouldn’t come within their vicinity for the night. (Y/N) was about to respond when they got a phone call from Alice. “Hello?” (Y/N) answered. “Hi (Y/N), I just wanted to check in with you since things didn’t end too well tonight.” They paused and Alice noticed. “They’re just leaving now for the night.” Alice said, locking eyes with Alec as the Volturi moved towards the door. “I’ll be fine.” (Y/N) responded. “I... thought i had a vision of you but, I couldn’t see anything.” (Y/N) smiled slightly with a hum of amusement. “You don’t need to look out for me, Alice. I’m just going to go for a bath and head to bed.” “Are you sure?” Alice asked. “Of course. Besides, I’ve already began running the water...as you know.” Alice hummed quietly in amusement. “This will be fixed tomorrow.” (Y/N) swallowed. “I know.” (Y/N) said quietly. “It’s a good sign they want to see you, you know?” Alice said. “I can only hope.” They said simply. “Anyway, get some sleep and i’ll speak to you tomorrow, yeah?” “Yeah, have a good night Alice.” “See you tomorrow, (Y/N).”
When (Y/N) hung up the phone, a tear ran down their cheek. ‘disgusting wretched human!’ Alec’s voice rang in their head. (Y/N) put their phone on the floor next to them. (Y/N) felt their clothes stick to them as they sank into the water, leaning back in the bath. The calm luke-warm water peaceful, like their mind. (Y/N) felt a tear run down their cheek. (Y/N) shook their head biting back their tears. Before any more could fall, (Y/N) slowly sank underneath the water. After a brief moment,(Y/N) sat up, their hair dripped as they felt another wave of calm wash over them. (Y/N) noticed a reflection of the ceiling along the water. An idea rushed to their mind and that was when they knew, what they had to do. (Y/N) hunched over slightly, arms moving to the edge of the tub, more droplets falling down the sides. They looked at their reflection. “You’re going to forget. You’re going to forget the Volturi, forget what happened. You’ll forget ever meeting them. You’re going to forget that you have a gift to make people forget things. You won’t think to even question it. If it’s brought up. It’ll be like a dream, or story that you made up. You’ll forget ever using it, you wont remember to question why your parents aren't around.” It wasn’t known when (Y/N) had stopped repeating those very words. Although it wouldn’t concern them, they’d forgotten they had ever done it. "If only (Y/N) would have waited. If only we were quicker. Then maybe we would have had the time to tell them that they were forgiven. That for some of us, there was nothing to forgive. Maybe if we had spent more thought, we'd have known how much hurt they truly felt. However by then, it was too late what was done was done. They'd forgotten who we were, forgotten what they had done and all the details in between, washed away by their gift. We'd never know if such a gift could be reversed but could only hope that they've found peace and happiness. They'd live out their life, never knowing the happiness they gave and the joy they spread to many." Marcus finished.
Many in the room couldn't help but glance at you, wanting to see your reaction. Perhaps a flicker of recognition would show. Your head lowered and the two covens seemed almost hopeful. You lifted your head, wiping your eyes. "That's sad. I hoped for a happy ending." A pang hit some of their chests, that statement had remained the same even before you had forgotten. A quiet hum escaped you. "You know it's strange, you said the humans name was (Y/N). My name is (Y/N) too." "Oh?" Marcus responded lightly with a ghost of a smile. You nodded. "It's a funny coincidence, I suppose." You looked at Marcus with uncertainty. "I feel like I should hug you...?" You began. Marcus cracked a small smile. "That's alright." Marcus stood up and you met him half way. The room was quiet, even after you both separated.
You moved into the kitchen to refill your glass of water when you jumped. Alec was so quiet you had no clue he was even in there. "You scared me!" You laughed, a hand going to your chest. "Sorry." Alec felt a pang in his chest, remembering how tried to apologise to him and he completely rejected you. This time you were apologizing for nothing. In your eyes, you had apologised to a complete stranger and that broke Alec's heart. He wished he could turn back time, assure you that you were forgiven, that you'd always be his friend. He missed that chance, you got so good at your own gift you figured out a way to use it on yourself. "Alec, yeah?" You asked. Alec nodded. "I'm getting better at names." You smirked, pleased with yourself. "The human in Marcus' story was your friend right?" You asked nonchalantly as you filled your glass. "Yes." Alec responded. "Can I ask you something?" You turned, now with a full glass with a small smile on your face. Alec knew that smile well that you had sent him. It was the polite smile you wore to anyone you didn't know. In the hopes that it would cover up how nervous you actually are about meeting new people. "Yes." Alec said again, not entirely ready for the question but whatever it was, it meant you'd stay in the conversation. For all he knew, that last conversation he'd have with you. "Were they nice? Your friend?" You might as well have stabbed him in the chest in that moment. Alec did his best to hide it. "They were wonderful. The best friend I could have ever had." Alec responded. You slowly nodded, contemplating his answer. "That's nice. Anyway, I won't bother you anymore." You smiled, raising your glass. "See you around." You turned and walked out the room without even a second glance. Leaving Alec standing in the kitchen, alone once again. Jane moved passed (Y/N), casting them a quick look before entering the kitchen towards her brother. She said nothing as Alec looked at her. For what could she honestly say? "They forgot me." Alec said quietly.

less than a friend - bill s preston esq x ted theodore logan
warnings: mentions of homophobia, mentions of abuse, f slur
desc: Ted is acting strange, and Bill intends to find out why, but Ted won't even look at him. When Ted finally talks to Bill, he reveals he doesn't want to be friends anymore.
The first couple of times, Bill had convinced himself Ted simply hadn't heard him. He grew more concerned, however, when he noticed Ted look at him and still avoid him. Had he done something? Ted would tell him if he did, right?
When Bill saw Ted getting things from his locker, he fully intended to keep on walking; he was clearly too occupied to talk to Bill, and if he wanted to talk to him, he would do so. That was the plan until he caught a clear glimpse of a bruise on Ted's arm.
"Ted?" Ted flinched, clearly able to hear Bill, but didn't move in his direction. "Please don't ignore me, Ted." He spoke quietly. He noticed Ted's busted lip, which wasn't noticable earlier because Ted's face had been hidden behind his hair. "Did you get hurt, Ted?"
The halls had begun to clear out as the bell rang. Ted took a breath. He didn't want to do this. But he had to for the both of them, right?
"We should talk, Bill," Ted stated in a way that told Bill something was very, very wrong.
Bill nodded, waiting for Ted to continue. When he didn't, Bill asked, "What is it, Ted?"
Ted hid his face behind his hair again. He could feel how fast his heart was beating. He didn't want to do this. He wished he didn't have to. But his dad would kill him if he didn't.
"Bill, I don't-" Ted could feel the tears threatening to come up, heard his voice crack, and cleared his throat. "I-I think we sh-should- stop being, uh- stop being friends." He paused to let the both of them process what he had just said. "The bands over, too, Bill. I'll come over later to get my stuff."
Bill stared at Ted, dumbfounded. "What?"
"I'm sorry, Bill. It's not your fault, I just- it's better this way, y'know?" Ted half-lied. He really wasn't sure if this was better or worse.
"Y-you- Ted-" Bill fought back the tears he knew would come up sooner or later. He felt his heart sink. Was he joking? He didn't look like he was joking. Ted wouldn't make this kind of joke, anyways. Bill wished he could get one single coherent thought out of his mouth.
"I'm sorry, Bill. It's not your fault, really." Ted began to turn around, stopping and turning his head to face Bill again, giving him a sad smile. "You were a good friend, Bill. Please don't forget that."
With that, Ted left Bill standing alone in the hallway, his mind reeling. It wasn't his fault. Ted had said that, and he wouldn't lie to him. But something inside him told him he had done something wrong, something so bad that Ted didn't want to talk to him ever again.
And then it hit him. He was alone. He was completely and utterly alone, with not even Ted to comfort him. He always had Ted, no matter what, that's just how it had been since they were little kids. They had never had anyone but each other, and now they didn't even have that.
Bill ran to the bathroom, locking himself in one of the stalls. He began sobbing without checking if anyone was in the bathroom with him. He didn't give a shit if anyone heard him, anyways. His best friend didn't want anything more to do with him, he should be allowed to cry as much as he wanted.
As Bill sobbed loudly, his shoulders shaking rhythmically with each sob, only one thought came and went through his head; today, after school, would be his last chance ever to talk to Ted.
—————
Neither Bill nor Ted said anything on the ride back to Bill's house. Missy had no idea what was going on, and the boys' peculiar behavior only made her increasingly concerned with every passing second.
"I won't be home for a while, I've got some errands to run. Have fun, boys," Missy called out with a smile as they approached the Preston residence and the boys got out of the car.
"Yeah," Bill muttered, kicking a pebble in front of his foot.
Ted gave as convincing a smile as he could. "Bye, Mrs. Preston."
Missy waved, smiling, too. "Bye, Ted." And with that, she drove off.
The two stood there for a few moments, but to them it felt like forever. "So- I- I think you've got a few things in my room. I don't know. We can start there."
Ted shrugged. "You can keep whatever's in your room, dude. I just need whatever's in the garage."
Bill's heart ached. He really didn't want to keep any of Ted's stuff. He thought it would hurt too much. He nodded, anyway. "Okay. Garage it is, then, duder." He tried to keep his voice from cracking or shaking. He didn't think he was very good at it.
Bill pushed past Ted, doing his best to avoid any eye contact with him. He didn't want to see whatever emotion Ted was feeling right now. He opened the garage, faced with their instruments and small stage. The instruments and stage he would most likely never use again.
Ted pointed to the right of the garage. "I'll start there, I guess."
Bill nodded. "Oh, wait- don't you-" He could feel his voice start to crack. He hated this. He just wished he could fix whatever was going on between him and Ted. "Don't you want your guitar, dude? I think you should get that first, so you don't forget it."
Ted looked at his guitar sadly. It was leaned against the wall next to Bill's. "No, you should keep it. My dad would totally kill me if I had that thing in the house." He laughed slightly, like everything happening was just a joke to him. Bill didn't know if it pissed him off or made him even sadder. "I'm sure you'll find some other bodacious dude to start a band with, and you can give them my guitar."
Bill's heart sank deeper. He didn't think that was possible. It hadn't even occurred to him that he might continue Wyld Stallyns without Ted. He didn't plan on it. But Ted moved on, he would have to move on eventually, too. "Yeah, maybe," Bill mumbled, dragging his feet as he walked to a small table set by the stage. He took a breath. "Y'know no one's gonna be as bodacious as you, though, Ted," he said quietly, unsure of how he would respond.
Ted chuckled. "Yeah. You- you too, Bill."
Bill wanted to cry again. But he couldn't, not right in front of Ted. He sucked in his breath, holding it for a few seconds before releasing again and grabbing a box below the table. It had a collection of random things pertaining to the band, merchandise they had hand made, a few scrapped song lyrics.
Pictures of the two of them together.
Bill reluctantly grabbed a photograph of the two. It was a picture of them Ted had taken; behind them, the beginning of their band set up. This photo was from a few years before, when they had first started their band. They seemed so happy. He wondered if he would be able to go back in time, to experience it all again. Probably not.
Bill let out a shaky breath, a low sob-like noise. Ted turned around. "Dude? What's up?"
Bill sniffed. "Nothing, Ted, sorry. Just- uh, nothing."
Ted crouched down on the floor with Bill, resting a hand on his shoulder. "Hey, Bill, it's okay, really. Whatever it is, you can talk to me about it. I promise." He smiled reassuringly. "Just because we won't be hanging out anymore doesn't mean you can't talk to me about- y'know, your problems and stuff."
Bill let out a loud sob, letting go of the photo and setting his head in his hands. "I'm sorry, Ted, I just- I know you said it's not my fault, and I trust you on that, but- I just- I know there's some reason, that something obviously happened between us, and whatever it is I'm sorry- and- I- I don't know. I just can't move on as fast as you, Ted. I'm sorry."
Ted was quiet, and Bill didn't realize he was crying, too, until he started talking. "Dude," he said quietly, his voice cracking. "I don't want to stop being friends with you-"
"Then why!?" Bill yelled, breaking down into sobs once more. "I'm sorry. I'm sorry, I don't want to yell. Just-" He took a breath, lifting his head to look at Ted. "Why?"
Ted stared at him, obvious sadness in his expression. "I can't explain it, Bill. We- we just can't be friends anymore. I don't-" He took a breath. "I don't think I could handle it. And my dad wouldn't like it much, either."
"Screw your dad, Ted!" Bill paused. "I- wh- what the hell do you mean you can't handle being friends with me? Did- did I do something?" His expression turned into that of fear as he searched his brain for anything and everything he'd ever done wrong.
"No, Bill, of course not. I don't think you can do anything wrong, really." Ted stared at Bill for a minute, then sighed. "I can't explain more, Bill, I'm sorry. I don't want you getting more mad at me than you already are."
"Mad? Ted, I'm not mad. I've only ever gotten, like, slightly annoyed with you, like, twice for totally stupid reasons. Just tell me, Ted. I won't get mad." Bill was confused, but he knew if he continued pressing he would get at least a slight explanation as to why his best friend completely left him.
Ted sighed. He stared at nothing for a few minutes, contemplating whether he should even say anything. He felt like just being here would send his dad some sort of distress signal or something. "Bill, I-" He let out a breathy sob. "I'm a total faggot. And- and my dad found out and he thinks if I spend any more time with you it'll only get worse, and honestly, I think I agree with him."
Bill's face scrunched up in thought. "Dude, I don't care if you like dudes. Shit, is it because I called you a fag? I-"
"No, Bill, it's not about that. I mean, kinda, but- it's more about what dude I like. And how my dad found out." Ted didn't want to say it. He hoped Bill would fill in the blanks.
"I'm not following, dude."
Ted swallowed. "Okay, so, I- I was working on a song for this really bodacious dude I know, and my dad found out and- he found out who it's about- I mean, his name is in the song, y'know? So, yeah, he-" Ted turned to face Bill again, who was looking at him with wide, seemingly hopeful eyes. "Bill, why do you think I can't talk to you anymore, dude?"
Bill stared at Ted. "Dude." He lifted his hand to Ted's cheek, letting gentle tears flow from his eyes. His voice was shaky and squeaky as he said quietly, "I love you so much." He pulled Ted into a quick kiss, laughing happily. "And your dad's a major dickweed. You can stay here as long as you need, dude."
Ted smiled weakly. "My dad would totally kill me, Bill, you know that."
Bill was quiet for a moment. Reluctantly, he said quietly, "Y'know, I never said you had to leave anytime." He squeezed Ted's hand. "I would love to hear that song sometime, though."
Ted laughed, squeezing Bill's hand back. "I'll totally play it for you soon, dude." He was quiet. "Y'know, I think you're right. My dad is a total dickweed. I think I will stay here for a while."
Bill laughed, too. "Good."
They were quiet again, still in the same position they had been in. Then, Ted adjusted himself, touching his forehead with Bill's. "I'm sorry, dude. It was most uncool of me to completely avoid you all day. I love you."
Bill felt butterflies in his stomach. As much as it was totally uncool to ignore him all day, he understood. "It's okay, Ted. You're here now, that's all that really matters, I think." He paused. "I love you, too."
He loved being able to say that to Ted. It felt real, because he really did love him, and he felt like breaking into sobs all over again, because here he was, holding the hand of his best friend since kindergarten. He would be more than content if they stayed like that forever, never leaving each other's arms.

Soulmates
Soulmate imagine where your soulmate can hear the music you’re listening to and if you sing along they can hear you.
Also Mj’s birthday is changed but my birthday is tomorrow so I wanted to have hers close.
Warnings: a few swear words but that’s it
"You're always humming that song" I say to Mj as we're sat at the skate park after school.
"It's my soulmate. They are literally always singing and listening to it" she says stopping her humming.
"Or the song is simply stuck in your head, soulmates are a bunch of bull" I say kicking my skateboard back and forth.
"They aren't, you just don't have your soulmate yet, you're only 16" she says and I laugh standing up and I get on my skateboard.
"This soulmate shit is complete bullshit" I say skating off and she jumps on hers following me.
"Your soulmate definitely listens to you listen and sing Broadway all day" she says and I take my headphones out and she laughs.
"Let me guess it's either Hamilton or Waitress" she says and I shake my head.
"Waitress. But shut up" I say skating away faster and when we get to the split I wave at her.
"See you tomorrow bitch" I say.
"Bye fucker" she says and I skate left headed home.
I drop my skateboard by the front door and I run upstairs getting started on my homework and I slide into my desk chair spinning around as I hook up my music and I put my headphones on my head and I unlock my computer getting started on my essay.
"New York City" I sing tapping my pencil against my desk as I do my math.
"The city's yours, it's worth fighting for, it's all yours" I sing scribbling my answers down because I can't be bothered to write it down neatly and I flip my page over.
"A single mom who works too hard, who loves her kids and never stops" I sing putting on just the theme song and I sing along the whole time it's stuck in my head.
"Are you okay?" Ned asks Peter as he sits there silently.
"Yeah, I'm good. She's just keeps singing the theme song to Reba over and over" he says laughing and Ned laughs.
"Is she watching it?" He asks.
"No, she’s definitely just listening to the theme song, she's singing it like back to back" he says.
"Who do you think it is?" Ned asks.
"Honestly just when I think I'm getting closer and closer she throws me for a loop and I can't narrow it down" he says sighing.
The next morning I skate to meet up with Mj and she smiles at me and I smile back and we skate to school in silence, it being way too early for us to talk and greet each other "I'll see you in fourth" she says when we get in the school and I nod heading to calculus.
"My roots are planted in the past though my life is changing fast" I sing as I switch my books out at my locker.
"What are you singing?" Mj asks and I jump shutting my locker and taking my headphone out.
"Nothing" I say quickly.
"That was Reba" she says and I laugh.
"I was watching it a while back and it's been stuck in my head for like two weeks. I sang it like 40 times yesterday while doing homework" I say and she laughs.
"Your poor soulmate" she says and I laugh.
"I don't have one" I say.
"So much Reba" I hear Peter tell Ned as they stroll past.
"Oh my god did you hear that?" Mj asks grabbing my arm and shaking me and I nod laughing.
"Yeah but that doesn't mean anything" I say and she nods.
"It does though. To lunch" she says dragging me off to the cafeteria.
"Hey Peter, hey Ned" Mj says sitting down.
"Hey Mj, Yn" Ned says and I smile at him as I sit down
"How are you?" I ask.
"I'm good. Thanks for asking" he says.
"How are you?" He adds.
"Besides being sick, I'm absolutely good" I say.
"Hey Peter what's going on in that head of yours?" Mj asks.
"Uh nothing" he says looking up.
"Mhm, what is it?" She asks.
"Sorry, I was listening to somebody to love" he says and my heart drops into my stomach and Mj looks down at my phone that’s on my lap and I take my headphone out.
"That's not playing though" I say.
"I know, it's my soulmate" he says shrugging.
"She has the wildest taste in music I've ever heard. She listens to literally everything, one second it'll be Dear Evan Hansen and then The Bee Gees and then Stevie Wonder and she loves just one song by The Beach Boys called Forever, she literally listens to that like 17 times a day on repeat so she gets it out the way and then she'll put on Etta James. Also most of the songs she listens to are glee covers. It’s a rollercoaster because she’s always listening to music" he says chuckling and I exchange a quick glance with Mj because that's literally me and she smirks.
"Tell them about the Reba thing" Ned says and Peter laughs.
"I'm sure they don't ca-"
"Go head tell us" Mj says cutting him off and he nods.
"It's just for the past like 11 days she's been randomly singing and listening to the theme song to Reba and last night she sang it the most. Around like 6:15 she sang it for like an hour and a half back to back" he says and Mj laughs.
"How cute" she says.
"I guess, she has a super nice voice and she gives me new music to listen to. I got into Hamilton because of her" he says.
"Really? What song is she always singing?" Mj asks
"Take a break" he says.
"She loves to perfect the notes at the end" he says and Mj looks at me.
"You never talk about your soulmate Yn" Peter says sensing how quiet I am.
"I'm only 16, I turn 17 tomorrow so I'll know then" I say smiling at him and he nods.
"What are you doing?" He asks and I shrug.
"Probably nothing, my mom and dad are still gone and probably don't realize that it's my birthday" I say.
"Why didn't you tell me?" Mj asks.
"Because your birthday is on Saturday so you don't need to worry about me" I say drinking my juice.
"Yes I do, you're my best friend" she says.
"You can come with my parents and I on my birthday trip because it's too late for us to do anything for you so you can come and we'll handle the rest" she says pulling out her phone and getting up and I try to stop her but she's already on the phone and I sigh.
"Why didn't you tell her?" Peter asks.
"She has such a perfect family and my parents are always gone and I'm sure they don't even remember me. Whenever I go to her house I see this perfect family and I don't want to go to her with my shitty problems when she'd never understand anyway" I say.
"Can you be packed by four today?" She asks coming back before Peter can respond and I nod.
"Yeah of course" I say.
"Good, we'll skate to your house and then my parents are going to get us from there" she says.
"Thanks Mj but you didn’t have to" I say.
"I know but I want to, we've been friends since kindergarten and we've traveled before it's no problem, plus with you going my parents are trusting me with my own room so thanks for being responsible" she says wrapping her arms around me and I hug her back, kissing her head.
"No Hamilton though" she says.
"You invited me and all of my obsessions" I say.
"You like Hamilton?" Ned asks and Mj's eyes go wide and she mouth I’m sorry.
"Yeah, I'm obsessed" I say.
"What's your favorite song?" He asks.
"As a true fan you can't have just one. You have about 46" I say and I look at Mj and out the corner of my eye I see Ned and Peter exchange a look.
Midnight
"And I'm sure you would agree it couldn't fit more perfectly than to have a world party on the day you came to be. Happy birthday to you. Happy birthday to you" I hear and I look over at Mj but she's knocked out on the other bed and I smile, flailing around silently as I freak out and I pull out my phone and I go to Peter's messages.
You
Thank you 💕
Peter
Of course. Happy birthday 🎉
I click my phone off, the biggest smile in the world on my face as I curl up and go to sleep happy.
"What's going on with you?" Mj asks.
"You're all smiles" she adds and I smile at her.
"I'm so excited and I just can't hide it" I sing doing a little dance and she laughs.
"What happened?" She asks still giggling.
"It's Peter" I say.
"What's pet- oh-oh-oh oh my god you heard him?" She asks and I nod squealing.
"How do you know it's Peter?" She asks.
"Last night at midnight I just randomly started hearing happy birthday and I thought it was you, but you were out and snoring and so I texted him a thank you and he responded with of course" I say dancing on the bed and she laughs.
"Come down idiot, we need to get ready" she says and I jump off the bed running into the bathroom.

Just Friends
sooooo... I know I've said I don't write smut, but I will write *barely* sfw stuff if I'm in the mood :)
College AU because that's my current aesthetic lol. Not explicit but defo spicier than what I normally write
Ship: Tom Holland x Reader
Word Count: 2078
Warnings: light language, alcohol consumption, implied (consensual) sex
✧
The music was loud with a deep bass, reverberating through your spine as you carried a half-drank solo cup of indiscriminate alcohol and red fruit punch.
"Tom. I'm not feeling it tonight," you basically yelled to your best friend, a proud member of the fraternity whose basement you were in. "This just doesn't hit like it used to."
You were both going into your senior year of college, having been friends ever since your freshman dorm rooms ended up right next to each others.
Now that you and your friends were all legal, going to the frathouse instead of a bar just seemed unnecessary. The only reason you were really there was because Tom and his best friend Harrison were officers and had to live in-house.
Tom had only had a couple beers within the past hour, trying to stay steady with you, though you weren't even experiencing a light buzz.
He wrapped his arm around your waist and pulled you close to lean down to your ear.
"Whadd'ya want to do then?" he asked.
"Can we just go back to my place? We've got some alcohol in the apartment," you answered. He nodded. "Let's go find Emily first, make sure she doesn't want a ride, too."
You both made your way around, finally seeing your roommate and Harrison making out in one corner of the room, one hand holding a red solo cup and the other cupping his face.
You rolled your eyes and grabbed her shoulder, pulling them apart.
"Heeeeyyy. What are you two up to?" she asked, turning around and pressing her back up against the blonde who then wrapped both arms around her stomach, resting a chin on her shoulder.
"We're gonna go drink at the apartment, " you called, trying to get her to hear over the music. "Do you want to go in the uber with us?"
She shook her head.
"Nah, I think I'll stay here if Haz is cool with it."
"You know I'm always cool with you staying over," he added, spinning her around.
"Okay, well then you two know the drill," you started, "if you even think about taking advantage of her I'll-"
"You'll cut my dick off," he finished, "yeah, yeah, I know. I would never, I swear."
Harrison put a hand over his heart for good measure.
Your stern look turned to a grin.
"Alright you two, stay safe and all that jazz. See you tomorrow."
You were waving bye when Emily called out behind you,
"Don't forget to use condoms!"
You blushed like mad, and Tom did, too.
You were just friends, after all. Only friends.
Both of you went through the rest of the house in silence, going outside to wait for your driver. You crossed your arms in frustration over your chest.
"I can't believe Emily would try to embarrass us like that! She knows we're just friends! Now that whole party thinks we left to hook up."
"Come on, y/n. The music was too loud. If anyone heard it was like two other people and they're freshman. Who cares what they think?"
You laughed at his response as he squeezed your side again, trying to get you to loosen up and smile again. You couldn't help but comply as the driver pulled up.
✧
Tom was hunched over looking through your fridge when you exited your bedroom, having already removed any makeup and changed into sweats.
He stood up when he heard you.
"What all do you want to- is that my shirt?"
You looked down, then shrugged.
"Huh. Guess so. You can have it back if you want it," you said, starting to pull up up over your sports bra when he stopped you.
"No, no. It's fine. Looks better on you anyways," he quipped, shutting the fridge door. You couldn't help but smile at that last comment as you pulled it back down. "Speaking of clothes of mine, do you still have my grey sweats?"
It wasn't long before he had changed as well, wearing the pants he'd left from the last time and one of your XL sweatshirts.
"Are you sure this sweatshirt isn't mine, too?" he asked, tugging on it.
"Since when do you wear oversized sweatshirts, Tom?"
He paused and looked up.
"Oh, right. Never. Thanks for washing these pants for me."
It wasn't a strange occurrence for Tom to spend the night at your apartment, usually to get out of the frat house every so often. He typically took the couch or your air mattress and kept some clothes in your closet.
He hit his hands together, then rubbed them.
"Now that we've got that out of the way. What shall we drink?"
You were originally just going to finish a bottle of wine as you watched "The Wedding Planner" together on the couch, but then Tom discovered the bottles of tequila and vodka in the freezer during the scene where Mary gets drunk.
"Come on, babe. We've gotta do at least one shot. It would be way more entertaining."
"I can't imagine that either of us needs to be drunk to find JLo and Matthew McConaughey entertaining, but fine," you replied, getting up to pull out the shot glasses from the cabinet.
"I shouldn't have told you to look for the ice cream," you lamented, causing him to laugh.
About 20 minutes after a shot each, you were both curled up on the couch together, the alcohol hitting as the story was beginning to wrap up.
You felt a little awkward watching the characters confess their love for each other as you were leaning on Tom's side, his arms caressing you.
But you were just friends, right?
Yeah, but your drunk brain couldn't ignore the flashing sign inside that seemed to scream "but you're also kinda into him!"
And it was right.
You'd had subtle feelings for him since probably sophomore year, after having playfully hated each other throughout freshman year.
You liked to blame that sentiment on the fact that your beds had been against the same wall and you could often hear each other doing just about everything.
"I just don't get how people weren't more mad at her going after an engaged man!" Tom said, snapping you from your thoughts.
"Huh? Oh, yeah. But I mean she did try to avoid him for a while, I guess," you replied, not quite slurring but your words coming out just a little but slow.
Tom switched on a random TV channel after credits started rolling and shifted a bit, still holding you tight.
"You doing okay?" he asked. You nodded.
"Yeah, I think I'm already coming down. You were kind of right, though. Drunk watching gave me a whole new perspective."
"Oh yeah? and what's that?"
You could feel the vibrations in his chest as he spoke, making you close your eyes sleepily.
"Hmm. I'm not actually sure."
He laughed at your response and then you both fell into a comfortable silence, both of you relishing in each other's warmth.
After a little bit, you sat up, rubbing your eyes and stretching.
"You good?" he asked again.
"Yep, just gonna run to the bathroom real quick."
You stood up, taking slow steps. Your thoughts were no longer clouded but your coordination wasn't quite there yet.
By the time you returned, Tom had gotten you some water glasses and returned to the couch. This time, you laid down so you could rest your head in his lap and look at your phone as he stroked your hair.
After a while of scrolling through social media and showing Tom the occasional picture, you closed the phone and set it on your chest.
You looked up and Tom and wondered aloud,
"What do you think Em and Haz are up to now?"
"Is that really a question? Smashing."
You snorted.
"Gosh those two don't know how to keep their hands off of each other. I can't believe it took them so long to figure out they were into each other. 'Just friends' my ass."
Tom gave an awkward chuckle of his own.
"Hey, that's our line."
You could feel the tension in that response, not sure how to respond as you continued to study Tom's face.
"We should probably start getting ready for bed," he suggested. "I can start blowing up the air mattress if you wanna go brush your teeth and stuff."
You had sat up but stopped him.
"Wait... will you... do you want to just sleep in my bed tonight?"
"What? Then where will you sleep? On the couch?"
You were a little stunned at his oblivious answer.
"I- what? No. I meant... do you want to share the bed with me? It's plenty big for two people."
He eyes widened.
"Oh... oh! Okay I get it now. Uh, sure. As long as you're sure. I don't want to make you uncomfortable or anything."
"Tom, I mean it. I want you to," you plead.
You were eventually getting ready to crawl into bed when you faced Tom, sitting back against the mattress.
"Are you sure you want this?" he asked once again, making you grin. You reached up and pulled him into a hug.
"I promise, Tom. I really do."
You both pulled away just enough for your faces to be in front of each other, not even an inch apart. Your heart was racing, tension higher than ever between you.
It felt like forever staring at each other. You weren't really sure who moved first but suddenly your lips were crashing into each other's with a fiery passion, hands roaming each other's bodies for the first time like you were starved for touch.
Somehow you had flipped and made it onto the bed, you on top of Tom as you rode his leg.
It wasn't long before shirts were removed, too, and bare skin was against bare skin.
"Mmm... Where... um... condom?" Tom asked between kisses, both of you breathing heavily.
You paused and sat up, straddled over his hips, thinking. It had been a while since you'd needed one of those.
You slid off of him and went to the bathroom, reaching deep into the back of the sink cabinet, thankful to find that the box wasn't expired. When you stood up, you almost laughed at the way your face was flushed and hair unruly.
When you returned, Tom was sitting up looking at you, brows raised.
"So we really doing this?" he asked. You couldn't help but smile, thankful for his respectful nature.
"I am if you are."
It didn't take long to fall back onto the bed again, eventually tiring yourselves out and falling asleep pressed against one another.
✧
You walked out of your bedroom, hair still wet from a shower, looking to make some coffee.
As the first mug brewed, Emily came through the door.
"Oh, hey!" she looked around. "Did Tom head back already? I must've missed him. I guess he slept on the couch since I don't see the air mattress anywhere."
You were unsure of how to answer, pausing as you leaned back against the counter.
Once you finally figured out something to say, you were interrupted by Tom opening the bedroom door. His own hair was also still wet, and he held your bedsheets in a clump in his arms.
"Hey y/n do you want me to stick these in with any clothes or- oh hey Emily," he said, not registering the situation as he passed by her to put the bundle in the washing machine.
Emily, on the other hand, was standing frozen in shock. She looked at you, pointing towards Tom, then back at you, a hand then reaching up to cover her mouth.
"Oh my... I- did you two..?" her fingers wiggled back and forth between you two. You couldn't help but blush. "Holy shit, you did!"
Tom turned and walked to you with a maniacal grin, standing in front you as he reached past your body to grab the filled coffee cup.
"It's definitely possible," he answered her, leaning down to press a kiss on top of one of the hickeys he'd left on your neck.
"Finally! 'Just friends' my ass," she said, unknowingly paralleling your own comment about her. She was about to open her mouth again when you cut her off this time.
"Yes, Em. We used condoms. Now tell me if I've got any dicks to cut off."

Buddie + 47 "This is home?" 😊
Thank you for your patience, nonnie! I know this took me some time to write and post. Loved this prompt, though! This fic features an appearance by Taylor Kelly, and maybe isn't the most friendly towards her? idk, I wasn’t actively trying to write her to be a bad person or anything, but just in case I thought I'd throw a warning for people who like her/like her and Buck.
Buck yawns and leans back into the cushions of the Diaz couch. He’s exhausted, physically and emotionally. They were called to a grizzly pileup on the freeway just before their shift was supposed to end, multiple on scene fatalities, and more that they lost later, in the ambulance. He had a date with Taylor scheduled for after his shift, but he knew before the engine even pulled back into the station that he was going to have to cancel. Not just for himself and his need for rest and recovery, but for Taylor’s sake. He wouldn’t have been a good date in his current state. He texted her from the locker room that his shift had run long and he was going to head home and rest. She texted him back with a “I understand, get some sleep” and that was that.
He followed Eddie home, because neither of them wanted to be alone, and he wanted to see Chris, even for a few minutes before the boy had to go to bed. They exchanged hugs and Buck and Eddie both pressed kisses to the top of Christopher’s head. Ever since Eddie was shot--since he told Buck about his will, since Buck spent the summer living on their couch and taking care of both of them--Buck took on a more parental role with Christopher. They don’t really talk about it, but it’s undeniably true, and Buck loves it. The three of them feel like a family, are a family.
Buck showered at the station, but Eddie hadn’t. Eddie likes to take his time in the shower, making it into a sort of ritual where he scrubs off more than just the grime of the day, but the stress and trauma of it as well. He’s going to be gone awhile. So, Buck settles into the couch and pulls out his phone.
I know it’s not the same, but wanna FaceTime before bed?
Seconds later his phone lights up with the call. He smiles when he answers it.
“Hey, babe!” Her smile is bright and bubbly as always.
“Hey, Taylor,” he says, forcing himself to keep his own smile up. “Sorry about our date.”
“No, no it’s fine…” Taylor trails off, blinking curiously through the screen. “I thought you said you were going home?”
Buck glances around the room behind him and frowns. “This is home?”
She rolls her eyes. “I know what your loft looks like.”
“Oh,” His smile returns. Of course, she’s only been to Eddie’s a few times, she doesn’t recognize it from the bit of it she could see through FaceTime. “I’m at Eddie’s.”
Taylor’s confusion morphs into exasperation. “I should’ve realized.”
“You’ve only been here a few times, it’s--”
“No, I mean I should’ve realized you were blowing me off for him,” she snaps.
It feels like someone dumped a bucket of ice water over his head. “What does that mean?”
“It means that I’m always playing second to Eddie, and I’m getting sick of it,” Taylor’s tone is huffy and irritated and Buck hates it. “It was one thing when he was still recovering. But he’s fine now, so why are you still spending so much time with him?”
“He’s my best friend, Taylor,” Buck narrows his eyes. “Of course I spend time with him.”
She scowls. “How can you be too tired for me, but be sitting on his couch?”
Buck runs a hand through his ungelled curls. “Look, our shift ran long and it was really rough. My therapist says I shouldn’t be alone during times like this, and I happen agree with her--”
“So why not be with me?” Taylor asks, tone shifting from anger to sadness.
“Because Eddie knows exactly where I’m at emotionally,” Buck sighs. “He was there, he saw what I saw. There’s nothing to explain. And he shouldn’t be alone tonight, either. It just makes sense.”
She frowns. “So, that’s it? I’m not a first responder, so I’ll never be able to understand like Eddie?”
His stomach twists. This conversation is starting to sound familiar. “It’s not--”
“How can I understand if you don’t open up to me?”
Buck doesn’t know what to say to that. She’s right, of course. He isn’t open with her. She doesn’t know about his childhood, or about Daniel. She doesn’t know about the nightmares that haunt him, doesn’t know about the waves and ladder trucks, gunshots and explosions. She doesn’t know any of it, and he has no desire to share it with her. Maybe it’s the way she looks at her phone half the time they’re talking, or the fact that they haven’t really talked about her willingness to put Bobby’s trauma on the news, but he still doesn’t trust her, not really.
“You’re right,” he finally says. “I’ve been shutting you out.” She looks hopeful, which makes Buck feel like a huge jerk because this isn’t about to go in the direction she seems to think it will. “I have to be honest, I don’t think I’ll ever feel like opening up to you. I’m sorry.”
“Oh.” She looks so sad, and the part of Buck that’s terrified of disappointing people is two seconds from taking it all back, when she speaks again. “So, where does that leave us, then?”
“I don’t know,” Buck answers honestly. He doesn’t want to be single and lonely again, but he can’t deny any longer that Taylor isn’t right for him.
“I think you do.” She gives him a weak smile.
Buck blinks. Cocks his head to the side in confusion. “What does that mean?”
“Buck, be honest with me, are you in love with Eddie?”
Whatever Buck is expecting her to say, it isn’t that. All at once it feels like all the air in the room has been sucked out. He knows that he feels more for Eddie than could be strictly described as platonic, but he’s been avoiding those feelings for as long as he’s known Eddie. First because he thought he had Abby, then because Eddie was married, then because Eddie was grieving his wife, and then because they weren’t speaking to each other, and then because the pandemic hit and they had other things to focus on, and then because Eddie was dating Ana...It was never the right time, and he was always too afraid of losing Eddie, when he inevitably had to turn Buck down.
But Eddie changed his will, and Eddie broke up with Ana because “she’s not what I want” and Eddie let Buck stay here, for months, taking care of him and Christopher, and Buck knows in his core that he and Eddie are tied together, no matter what.
“Buck?”
He realizes she’s still waiting for an answer. “Yeah, yeah I think I am.”
She nods stiffly. “Right, well then. I guess we’re done here.”
“I guess we are.” Buck shifts uncomfortably. “Can we still be friends?”
“I don’t think so,” Taylor shakes her head.
Buck opens his mouth to respond, to say goodbye, but he’s cut off by a voice coming from the hallway. “You’re in love with me?” Buck looks up to see Eddie standing there in his sweats, hair still damp and dripping from the shower, brown eyes wide with shock.
Oh, fuck. “Taylor, I have to go.”
“I know,” she rolls her eyes. “Goodbye, Buck.”
“Bye, Taylor,” Buck swallows, setting his phone down on the coffee table. “How--How long have you been standing there? I didn’t hear the shower turn off.”
“Long enough,” Eddie steps forward. “You’re in love with me?”
“I--” There’s no point in denying. “Yeah. Is that...okay?”
It’s a stupid thing to say, but it’s all Buck can think to say.
To say Eddie looks dumbfounded would be an understatement. “Is it--What kind of question is that?”
Buck shrugs “Well, y’know. I thought it might make things awkward.”
Eddie shakes his head and shuffles the rest of the way into the living room, so he’s standing right above Buck. “Awkward? Why--What--Like, at work? We’re adults, we can keep things professional.”
“Keep...it...professional…” Buck’s brain processes the words slowly, but when he finally does, his heart sinks. “You don’t want to be friends with me anymore?”
“Um.” Eddie cocks his head to the side, in almost the same movement Buck made just minutes earlier. “Obviously not.”
Buck feels numb. This is it. The end of everything. Just when he thinks he’s found someone who will stay. “W-What about Christopher?”
Again Eddie looks baffled. “What about Christopher? I think he’ll be happy we’re together.”
Time stops. Together? “Uh-Wh-Huh? Together? Like...together-together? Like dating? Each other?”
“Oh.” The confusion melts off Eddie’s face. “Buck. I’m in love with you, too.”
Buck blinks up at him. “You are?”
“Yeah,” Eddie smiles warmly. “I thought I made that clear when I broke up with Ana and kept asking you to stay, but I guess I should’ve known that I needed to be more explicit with you.”
Buck laughs. “Oh, you think? I’m only in therapy for my abandonment issues, it’s not like I have problems trusting that people want me around or something.”
Eddie leans down and takes Buck’s hands in his. “Evan Buckley, I am deeply in love with you, and I want to be with you for as long as you’ll have me.”
Buck grins, tightens his grip on Eddie’s hands, and pulls the other man down onto the couch, right into his lap. “How does forever sound?”
“Sounds wonderful.”
Later, after they makeout on the couch like teenagers, after Eddie guides Buck down the hall to his bedroom, after they curl up in each other’s arms, it finally occurs to Eddie to ask. “How exactly did your FaceTime with Taylor end up with her asking if you were in love with me?”
Buck doesn’t open his eyes when he answers. “She asked why I wasn’t at home like I told her I’d be.”
“This is your home.”
Buck smiles and snuggles closer. “I know.”

O’Knutzy comes to babysit
To say this was heavily requested would be an understatement! Not only is this the next part in my Asher Pascal series but O’Knutzy is babysitting! This took forever but I hope you all enjoy it! These OCs and their world belong to the always amazing @lumosinlove.
If you haven’t read the rest of the Asher Pascal series, here is the master list!
CW: mild injury and mention of blood (nosebleed)
_______________________________________
The week after they took Asher to practice was filled with the same question.
“Le? Where’s Le?”
After the seven days of it, Sirius and Remus finally broke. They called Leo, asking if he would want to stop over and see Asher.
Leo was of course excited from the minute they asked, “That sounds great but I’ve got an even better idea. Y’all don’t get to go out too often, why don’t you guys go out to dinner or something? I can stay in, watch Asher for the day or night or whatever.”
Raising an eyebrow, Sirius looked over at Remus before answering, “You sure you wanna do that, Nut? He’s moving like crazy now, getting into shit.”
“Yeah, I’m sure. I would really love to. Just tell me a day and I’ll be there.”
Now today was finally the day. Asher had been running around all morning, a consistent chant of “Le Le Le” following wherever he went. Sirius and Remus had decided to spend the day out, doing dinner and a couple of the touristy stops nearby.
The doorbell rang around two and Asher was scooting his way down the stairs to the door. He still hadn’t mastered walking down the stairs, but he was getting there.
“Le Le Le!” Asher stood happily, waiting for one of his dad’s to open the door. He was excited but he knew better than to open the door without them.
Remus followed after, swinging the door open. He couldn’t help but laugh at the sight, “I should’ve known you’d all be coming.”
“We’re a package deal, Loops.” Logan said with a grin as Asher ran at Leo’s legs, staring up at him happily.
Leo swung him up onto his hip as they all made their way into the living room where Sirius was pulling on his jacket, “Ah, I see you brought backup?” He smiled, handing Remus his jacket.
“Eh, they would’ve gotten all whiny if I left them behind.” Leo shrugged, bouncing Asher as he wiggled happily in his arms.
Two identical sounds of offense came from next to him but Leo ignored them, pressing kisses all over the giggling baby’s face.
Remus smiled as he put on his own jacket, “There’s food in the fridge. I put a list of foods that he’s been liking on the fridge, but honestly your guess is as good as mine if he’ll actually like it at that moment. We’ve got Disney Plus and Netflix, he’s not really picky with shows. He’s got a toy box in the basement by the rink as well as in his room, but he’d honestly play with anything. Diapers are all next to the changing table upstairs. If you need us, you have our numbers. Any questions?”
“Nope, we’ve got this, Loops. No worries.” Finn said with a grin, making a silly face at Asher, making him giggle and hide his face in Leo’s chest.
Sirius smiled, “Alright guys. We’re gonna head out then. Last thing, try to watch your language. He’s picking up words like crazy so if we come back and he’s swearing, I’ll have you running laps before you can say Désolé, got it?”
The three boys nodded, knowing that the captain would never joke about laps.
Remus and Sirius both leaned over, pressing a kiss to Asher’s curls, “We love you, bub. Be good for the Cubs, Ash, alright? No crazy parties!”
“Yes party!” Asher shouted back, giggling wildly as his dads pressed kisses to his face.
“Have a good day, guys!” Remus said as Sirius pushed him out the door.
And then they were alone. With a whole child. Not just any child but the captain of their team’s child.
Asher looked up at Leo, a small pout forming on his face, “Buh-bye?”
Rubbing his hand along the little boy’s back, Leo nodded, “Yeah, they went buh-bye, but they’ll be back later. Did your daddies feed you though? You hungry?”
“‘Gettios!” Asher perked up in Leo’s arms, looking up at him excitedly as they walked to the kitchen. Logan pulled open the fridge, digging through until he found a large bowl filled with Spaghettios.
Asher cheered as soon as he saw the bowl, making the boys laugh. “Guess that’s the right one, Lo.” Finn said, sitting at the kitchen table as Logan made a small bowl up and heat it up in the microwave.
After settling Asher in his highchair, Leo sat down in the chair next to him, fixing a bib around his neck. Finn couldn’t help the happy sigh he let out. It’s just.. This was domestic as fuck. Like Asher obviously wasn’t their kid, but they were all taking care of him and Logan was making food and Leo was getting him all buckled in. One day.
Logan brought the bowl over, grabbing one of the baby spoons from the drawer, “Can he feed himself?” He asked, setting the bowl on the little highchair table.
Finn shrugged, “Give him the spoon and see.”
They all turned to Asher who stared right back, “”Gettios?” He asked, his hands moving towards the bowl.
Logan quickly held out the spoon to him, “Want the spoon, Ash?”
Asher grabbed it, “Frozen spoon!” he said excitedly as he began to eat. Most of it even made it into his mouth. Most of it.
“We’re gonna have to give him a bath.” Leo said, leaning into his hand as he watched Asher absolutely demolish the food.
Finn shrugged, “I can do it. Can’t be too hard.” Logan couldn’t help the loud laugh that he let out.
“Yeah because bathing a squirmy child is just the easiest thing.”
As soon as Asher was finished, Leo got him unbuckled from the chair and handed him off to Finn, “Go on then. Let us know if you need any help.”
They heard Asher giggling all the way up the stairs as Finn took him up to the bathroom. Leo shook his head with a laugh as he wiped off the high chair.
“So how soaked do you think he’s going to be?” Logan asked as he wrapped his arms around Leo from behind.
Leo chuckled as he put the sponge back in the sink, “Oh, he’s definitely going to have to borrow some clothes from Loops.” He turned to press a kiss to Logan’s forehead before leading him into the living room.
They both flopped back onto the couch, letting out a breath.
“You’re good with him, mon soleil,” Logan murmured, reaching to intertwine his fingers with Leo’s. “Honestly so cute.”
Leo smiled softly, tracing over the older boy’s knuckles, “I like kids. Like they don’t judge you and they’re just so giggly and happy. It’s nice. They’re nice.”
A loud splash echoed from upstairs, followed by a happy squeal.
“Finn better not swear in front of him. I’m not doing laps because he can’t hold his tongue.” Logan glanced up the stairs to the noise.
The bathroom door creaked open, “Can someone get him some clothes? And also some clothes for me?” Finn yelled.
Leo laughed as he got up, “I called it. You wanna go grab Asher some clothes and I’ll get him some of Loops’ clothes.”
They met back at the bathroom, the door swinging open to Finn, completely soaked, and a grinning Asher in a cute hooded monster towel.
“Hi.” Asher said with a smile, his head resting on Finn’s chest.
Finn rolled his eyes fondly, “So I cleaned up the bathroom. Can you guys take him to get dressed so I can get dressed?”
Reaching out, Logan smiled, “Yeah, I’ll take the little monster.” Asher cuddled up to him as soon as he was in Logan’s arms.
They took him out of the bathroom, getting Asher dressed in his own room. Logan tickled his belly as they got him into a clean diaper and then a clean pair of pjs.
Finn joined them not long after, hair still wet but in dry clothes, “I threw my clothes in their dryer. What’s the plan now?”
“Why don’t we go downstairs and Ash can show us his toys?” Leo suggested, looking over at the little boy.
A smile quickly formed on Asher’s face, showing the few teeth that had started growing in, “Okay! I show you.” Asher tapped on Logan’s chest until he was set down, and quickly ran to basement stairs.
The three of them were off to follow him, getting to the top just as he began his butt-scooting journey.
“Well, that’s fu- really adorable.” Finn caught himself, remembering Sirius’s warning about the swearing.
Logan chuckled, “Nice catch, mon rouge.” He said before following after Asher. By the time they made it down, Asher had already begun pulling various toys out of the box.
Looking around the room, Finn let out a whistle. The entire basement was amazing. An entire rink, a giant TV in the corner with multiple consoles, and toys everywhere. He wondered how often Loops and Cap came down here to skate? He walked over to the short wall that wrapped around the rink, opening the small gate that blocked Asher from getting on. “This is wicked. Imagine having your own rink in your basement..”
Logan leaned over the wall, “I feel like Cap spends a lot of time down here. Honestly, Loops too.” He muttered.
“My daddies skate all the time. I skate too.” Asher explained as he pulled out of the last of his toys.
Smiling, Finn watched as the toys were spread across the floor, “You skate too? Are you any good, Little Loops?”
Asher was up and heading towards the rink before they could blink, “I skate good.” He assured, grabbing the small pair of balance skates that sat next to the gate and pulled them on over his socks.
They watched as he stepped carefully onto the ice. His legs wobbled a bit as he moved his feet forward, sliding across the little rink. He was actually doing pretty well for a small child, and Finn said as such.
But Finn spoke too soon.
After getting complimented, Asher turned to grin at Finn but he must’ve turned too quick. His left foot slipped back, making him flop face first into the ice. The basement was quiet as Asher pushed himself up, a stream of blood beginning to fall from his nose. As he saw it drop onto the ice, his eyes widened and he burst into tears, a loud wail cutting through the silence.
Leo quickly jumped onto the ice, picking Asher up, “Go get a paper towel or something!” He said to the guys as he got Asher off the ice.
“I bleed!” Asher cried, his fingers gripped at Leo’s shirt.
Finn quickly came back down the stairs, holding a washcloth, “Hey, look at you, bud. Getting your first hockey injury before you even get a pair of skates. You’ll be a pro before you know it!” He said, putting on a smile even though Leo could see he was freaked out. It appeared to be working though as Asher’s tears began to slow.
“I-I be a pro?” Asher mumbled as Finn wiped his face before carefully pinching his nose. They all had bloody noses before and knew what to do, but it was a bit different with a little kid.
Logan came down with new clothes for him to change into, since his current outfit had blood on it, as well as an ice pack. They all moved over to the cushy couch pushed into the corner of the room, Asher sitting in Leo’s lap.
“Of course you’re gonna be a pro, Ash. You’re already skating so well.” Logan assured him as Finn kept his fingers pinched over his nose.
Asher whimpered softly at the pressure on his sore nose, tears forming in his eyes again, “Ow, that’s ouch.”
Finn winced, but kept the pressure, “I know, bud. But we’ve gotta keep it for a couple more minutes. Then maybe we can have some ice cream?”
He perked up a bit at the mention of ice cream, “I like ice cream.” Asher whispered, his eyes flickering between the three boys as if to make sure they were telling the truth. As if any of them could tell him no.
“Of course, little man. After we’re done, we’ll get you in your clean pjs and then have some ice cream.” Logan reassured him.
When they hit the 10 minute mark, Finn carefully removed his fingers and the washcloth. Luckily the bleeding had stopped. They all let out a quiet sigh of relief, but they were still going to have to explain to Sirius and Remus why their son’s face was bruised.
Logan and Leo carefully pulled off the dirty pjs, replacing them with a clean cozy pair as Finn threw the dirty clothes and washcloth into the wash.
He came back to Asher curled up on Leo’s lap, sniffling softly as Logan helped him hold the ice pack on his nose.
Asher perked up as he came back, “Ice cream, Finn? We have ice cream now?”
“Yeah, bub. Ice cream now.” Finn said with a smile.
They all made their way to the kitchen and sat at the table. Leo kept Asher on his lap, holding him close. Seeing him fall like that really freaked him out and he wasn’t about to let him go.
Finn pulled a bowl out of the cabinet, setting it on the table. A small frown appeared on Asher’s face as he watched Finn put a small scoop of ice cream into the bowl.
“Where’s your bowls?” Asher asked quietly, holding the ice pack to his face.
Logan leaned into his hands as he watched Asher, “That’s your ice cream, bud.”
Asher shook his head, “No, I share. You too.”
Chuckling softly, Finn grabbed three more bowls and gave them all the same portion, “Alright, we’ll all have some, Ash.” The little boy wiggled happily, leaning back into Leo again.
“Now why don’t you let us help you eat this? That way you can keep holding your ice pack.” Leo offered as Finn placed the bowls out.
Asher paused, looking between his ice cream and the ice pack before letting out a soft sigh, “Yeah, that’s good.”
They all enjoyed their ice cream, each of the boys taking a turn feeding Asher his. In between them giving him bites, he began dozing off on Leo’s chest.
“Looks like it’s time for bed.” Logan whispered, setting his spoon into his bowl. Leo looked out the window, surprised at how quickly the day had gone by. Sirius and Remus would be home soon. Finn collected the empty bowls, getting them into the dishwasher.
Asher sniffled softly, moving the ice pack from his face, “Nuh-Night time?”
Carefully resting the small boy on his hip, Leo made his way up to his room, “Yeah, bub. Time for bed.” He pulled back the blankets in the crib, gently laying Asher down in the middle.
Asher let out a big yawn, wincing as the movement twinged his nose, “Night-night, Le. Love you.” He brought his hand to his mouth, blowing Leo a kiss.
Leo couldn’t hold back the giant smile that spread on his face as he blew a kiss right back, “Night, Ash. Love you too.” He murmured. There was a noise machine next to the night light, and Leo turned on both of them before heading back to the living room.
When he got back in, both of his boys were sprawled on the couch. “Who knew taking care of a kid was so hard?” Finn muttered, his head on Logan’s lap.
“Literally everyone knows that, sweetheart.” Leo said with a laugh, plopping into the empty spot on the couch before turning on the TV for some background noise.
Logan glanced at the TV before looking back at Leo, “We’re gonna have to tell Loops and Cap we broke their kid,”
Just as Finn was about to reply, the front door was opening.
“Well, the house is still standing so it couldn’t have been that bad.” Sirius said with a laugh as he tossed his keys on the table.
Remus hung his jacket up, looking over the pile of boys on his couch, “You all have a good day? How was he?”
There was a pause before it erupted out of Logan, his eyes wide, “We broke him!”
Finn quickly smacked him in the arm, “Jesus, Lo. Why would you say it like that?” He exclaimed.
“You broke him?” Sirius asked, his eyebrows furrowed.
Leo let out a sigh, “We didn’t break him. He was showing us his skating skills downstairs, and slipped. Hit his face on the ice. He’s okay, his nose bled a bit but Finn bribed him with ice cream.” He explained.
There was a pause before Remus let out a laugh, “God, he’s got the worst balance. Did his face bruise this time?”
Logan’s eyebrows furrowed, “This time?”
Sirius nodded, “Oui, cette fois. He trips over his own feet, but he’s getting better. Or he was. Probably trying to show off for you guys.” Finn could feel Logan let out a sigh of relief.
“We told him he was a pro now because he got a hockey injury,” Leo said with a grin. “He just fell asleep like 15 minutes ago though.”
Sitting in the chair across from them, Remus smiled, “Well it sounds like an eventful day. W-Wait, are those my clothes, Finn?”
Finn looked down, blush spreading on his face, “Um yeah. Sorry, Loops. Ash decided that I also needed a bath? But I was still wearing my clothes… And Cap’s would’ve been way too big.”
Sirius let out a laugh, “Love that you got stuck with bath duty, Harz. But really, thanks for watching him for us. It was nice to get out of the house without having to worry about keeping an eye on him. We really appreciate it. Did you guys wanna stay here? You all look beat.”
“Nah, thanks though, Cap. I think we’ll head home.” Leo said as he corralled his boys, handing them their jackets.
After they said their good-byes, the Cubs made their way out to the car and started to head home. It was quiet for a bit before Logan broke the silence.
“Well that effectively healed me of my baby fever.”
Finn and Leo burst out laughing in the front seat, glancing back at him in the rearview, “No babies, mon chou?”
Humming softly, Logan leaned back into his seat, watching the smiles spread on his boys’ faces, “Maybe. Maybe one day.”
