With the whole sibling dynamic of Nancy and Jonathan's relationship with their siblings (and their friends) vs Steve's relationship with the party is how you see them interacting outside of the Upside Down related stuff.

Outside of the Upside Down stuff, we are never really shown, in canon, Nancy or Jonathan interacting with the kids other than their own siblings. The only time I can think of is Nancy dancing with Dustin at the end of s2. And it is implied, especially in s1 and s2, that they don't really think of the other kids much outside of being their younger brothers' friends.

But on the other hand, we do see Steve interacting with the kids outside of the Upside Down stuff. We see him helping Dustin before the Snowball at the end of s2, and we see him interacting with all the kids in s3. Sneaking them into movies, his handshake with Dustin, and giving him ice cream. (And it is kind of Upside Down related, but the way he is the only older teen to get a letter from Max in s4).

I think this is why, in fics, Steve is given that sibling dynamic more, and with more of the kids, because we he him interacting with them in normal settings more than we see Nancy or Jonathan. (I'm not saying this is a good or bad thing, just my opinion as to why it happens.)

I get to an extent what your saying, though I kind of disagree with it. Especially because I was talking specifically about the relationships with their own siblings getting erased, though I mentioned Nancy and her brother's friends because people have this weird thing where they seem to try to make her look bad bc she doesn't spend much time with them during Upside Down crises.

Anyway! Wrt Nancy and her brother's friends, I know we don't see it a lot on screen, but it is present in the dialogue imo. Nancy may not spend a whole lot of time on screen at this point, especially in the scenes we see her because quite honestly in s3 and s4 we see her in career mode, but we get dialogue that makes it sound like she has and does see them. She dressed up for one of their DND campaigns before! The you've always been my favorite Dustin comment also I think speaks to her spending more time with them than you'd think. Also I feel like Nancy's interaction with Dustin at the snowball was pretty significant to my point?

I think the implications you get in s1 and s2 are more so a growing pains thing anyway. Yes she's bitchy and short with them, but she's also a 16yo who has her first boyfriend and is acting out lol. Of course she doesn't want to hang out with her brother's nerdy friends then, but that doesn't mean she doesn't care about them.

When I say that we don't see Steve actually interact with the kids (other than Dustin, which was never my point, Dustin and Steve being surrogate brothers is extremely canon) on screen I mean that like, yeah he sneaks them into movies, but it's not like they are hanging out in the ice cream parlor. We don't actually see him driving them anywhere or anything. I do think it's likely that all of that happened, it is very much implied that they hang out more. But we don't see that on screen.

The fact that Max leaves Steve a letter is very telling for their off screen relationship yes! And like I said, I do think from UD stuff too that Steve is big brotherly to Dustin especially (because that is the one relationship we do get on screen), Max, and the Sinclairs, but like we don't actually really see Steve interact with Will or El very much if at all lol. Mike is mostly just antagonistic to him. (I don't think Mike actively dislikes Steve, I think Mike just is prickly but I digress.)

And with Jonathan... well it doesn't matter if he doesn't hang out with the other kids, the main complaint there was straight up that his character is hinged on his relationship with his siblings and that is erased and/or given to Steve even though I can't even think if we've ever really seen Steve interact with Will. Nothing about the other kids lol.

Also like, tbh the reason people make Steve big brother to All is because he is a fandom fave. Which I get! Steve is my fave too! I love big bro Steve so much, but like there's no canon evidence why Steve should have a closer relationship to Will (and arguably El) than Jonathan. There's really no canon evidence why Mike should be closer to Steve than Nancy either. That was more so my point in the whole thing. Especially when people use it to villainize Nancy. I understand why fandom does what it does, but I disagree about the canon support personally.

i cant wrap my head around the writers intentions for reginald. s1 was so reliant on him being incredibly smart and working behind the scenes of everything, and to extent this carried onto s2. but if his plan for the kids all along was oblivion and the seven bells then why:

did he drug and brainwash the kid with the most destructive ability when he knew that even specially trained soldiers couldnt match the guardians. i guess this is a bit of a meh point as viktor didnt need his power to stand on a star but still...

did he purposefully stunt the umbrellas but let the sparrows develop to a higher level of expertise with their powers. if he needs to fight the guardians, and thinks they may die in the process, then fully train your soldiers instead of handicapping them.

did he let five get so arrogant and out of control to the point where he ran out of the house at thirteen never to be seen (by reginald) again. the second he loses even one of those kids his entire plan falls apart, youd think hed have a tighter hold on things.

did he try to keep the academy after bens death. related to the above point, maybe he does have a way to reach five (televator?) but ben is still dead and i imagine dragging a dead body into oblivion would be difficult. ben would have been a rotten corpse by the time reginald finally took the umbrellas to oblivion, not in a fit state to be transported to a battleground through a thin walkway. plus the siblings would probably get suspicious at this point, maybe even back out completely.

did he even stop at 7. i get that he doesnt like kids and at a certain point theres too many to control, but dude needs a backup plan. he lost 2/7 in a scenario where losing even one means total failure. also, it was always a possibility that someone could die in oblivion, so why kill klaus and only take 7 in the first place.

did he unalive himself in s1. if he needs to operate the machine in oblivion for this to work, and hes stunted klaus to the point where he doesnt even know how to summon ghosts... what was his plan... what was he going to tell klaus in the day that was... what could klaus have even done at that point. (and he was 100% dead bc klaus found him in the void)

whats the point of freezing abigail on the moon, and sending luther to protect her, if your just going to rewrite the universe entirely... full offense to reg but luthers mission was entirely pointless.

if you can rewrite the universe.. bring back your old planet... why stay on earth.

ik this is a lot and i dont expect you to have the answers to any of these but s1 set up so many questions and we're 3 seasons in and theyve only been added too and contradicted? i feel like having a villain with understandable motivations is a pretty big part of a successful story. and reg is so complicated, and the implications that he does have feelings of guilt or affection towards the kids (giving viktor the violin that his dead wife left him, talking to luther under his favourite tree and the almost affection when he finds out luther found his unopened packages, everything about retraining klaus in s3)

Anon, I can Ockham's razor all of this really quick for you: the writers did not fucking know about Oblivion or the seven bells or anything remotely like that when they wrote Season 1. That's why everything seems stupider in retrospect now. I wish I could offer some deeper explanation to your very eloquent and valid questions, but sometimes the answer is just 'this is a show written season by season by different writing teams that clearly do not get enough time to go back and study the existing canon in order to craft a coherent narrative, which is why everything is off the rails now'. I often mourn the show we could have had if Season 2 had properly built on what was set up in Season 1 instead of going full light entertainment.

I think that Reginald is an incredibly compelling character anchored by a truly great performance by Colm Feore, but also that they keep using Reginald whatever way fits them best depending on the season, and by this point it has become jumbled and contradictory, which is such a shame.

I really would love to discuss your questions, but it would always circle back to 'this makes no sense anymore because there was no overarching story plan by that point in time that would let the writers know about bloody project Oblivion'. I'm with you on the fact that this set-up feels stupid. It's becoming really difficult to care about consistency in the story if half the things happening each season are forgotten by the writers in the following.

so basically, i imagine its a few years after canon; azula (19) has been in reformative therapy for a few years and sokka (22) has been ambassador for 4 & with zuko for 3. 

while zuko & azula have begun to really repair their relationship as much as they can, sokka & azula have never really uh clicked

sokka discovers theres an underground group based in ba sing se plotting an assassination attempt on zuko’s life with a series of undercover agents in the palace.

zuko assures him not to worry about it-- but sokka can’t drop it so he goes to investigates. azula catches him as he’s about to leave and is like “if someones trying to kill my brother just after he’s begun to be less annoying to me, i want in on the dismount. i miss fighting” so she tags along

sokka writes a note that’s almost identical to the “gone fishing!” one from boiling rock and kataras like “he cant honestly think this will work a second time” and zukos like “yes i too was completely suspicious yes right away”

the two of them travel and begin to thaw the ice, talking about stuff she’s learned in therapy and touching a little on sexuality, but she’s still fairly withholding.

sokka’s not at all convinced she actually cares about zuko, and he hates what she did to suki & katara-- and hell, hes friends with ty lee. he’s loyal. azula thinks sokka’s disingenuous and sloppy and doesnt get what zuko sees in him.

anyway, they make it to ba sing se and split up to interrogate some members they’ve isolated. sokka finds out their mixing a new poision, one without a cure to kill zuko with in (some number of) days

azula’s guy, however, tells her that the undercover mole is sokka and she instantly goes into action mode and tracks him down to kill him. they have a fight in a bakery (see below some V ROUGH storyboards) [full]

sokkas like obviously im not the mole, but its sweet that you genuinely wanna protect your brother

but this fight destroys the bakery theyre in and they get arrested-- the underground group kidnaps them out of prison. they have to take them down, just the two of them and bond over fighting styles.

they succeed but dont know where this poison's being made so sokka suggest lake logai and also theyre now fugatives in ba sing se, so they have to change into disguises

they have to rest in a hotel for a night since the tides too dangerous to get to the bottom of the lake rn; there they talk about how they each look like their mothers and what that means to them

azula talks about how finding her identity after the war has been hard bc everytime she looks into the mirror she sees her mothers face and sokkas like “well cut your hair”

so they cut her hair and bond. (side note i think they have the same benefits to theyre dynamic as katara & zuko; they other is the sibling of their character foil. s & k have the relationship z&a never got to have; and a&z have a competition k&s never could develop.)

benry however is not front stuck and gets flung around like a ragdoll bc their switches are pretty fucking crazy- he's often co con but mostly on accident

benry and gordon and their system mates trying desperately to organize who's been fronting and switches fails almost every time bc no one knows how to keep w organization

benry hates apples but one specific alter loves apples and so sometimes benry wakes up w mouth of apple and gets so upset this is even more confused to them before they have any idea what's going on

Ben isn’t very aware of this at first. He’s been dead since 2006 -- he’s quite used to it, by now. What he is aware of, first, is light. Blinding white light. And Vanya, in the middle of it. He doesn’t close his eyes because he can’t feel pain, but if he could he thinks she would have made him blind. There’s light, and heat, and power, and then he closes his eyes anyway because the ceiling is collapsing around him and it’s instinctual.

When he opens them again he sees ash. Ash -- and Klaus.

He’s gotten used to Klaus, too. Klaus has a memorable sort of face; even if he didn’t, Ben has seen it every single day for almost twenty years. He doesn’t know if it’s actually been twenty years, for him. He doesn’t know how time moves for ghosts. Klaus has assured him it moves the same as it does for the living. Ben isn’t sure Klaus, stoned out of his mind, bleeding sluggishly from his arm, knew what he was talking about.

Anyway.

Klaus.

He’s wearing the coat he’s been flaunting around for the past week. His shirt is see-through, with little stars on it, like a pale imitation of the sky. Ben remembers his pants had laces on them, he’s sure they did not a minute ago, before the brightness that threatened to wipe out his very soul -- his soul is all he has left, really. His gaze drifts down anyway, to check.

“No,” Ben says. Klaus is laying in a heap on the ground, his fingers curled like his tendons have been cut.

i think i’ve only explained the full story like,,, once actually 🤔

anywayy main ocs r Hero Jackson, Aaron Lory, and Jasper Howell and backstory is as follows

Hero and Aaron knew each other since they were really young (like babiesss), so they were always p involved in each others lives. They’re v close to one another. Hero has a younger sister named Lila, and Aaron has a twin sister (Amy) as well as twin older siblings (Ashton and Alyssa)

Hero and Aaron met Jasper in probably 1st grade, and Hero and Jasper never really got along all that well? Aaron was a p neutral party tbh. But yeah as they grew up Hero and Jasper were almost constantly at one anothers throats with Aaron often being the mediator.

By 6th/7th grade Hero and Jasper lowkey hate each other and everyone knows it- they get into very minor fights with each other alot at this point. But also at this point everyone’s also doing some exploring (wooaahhh)

Hero and Aaron both realize they are Not Straight (Hero’s Bi and Aaron is Pan) and have crushes on one another (bc childhood friends to lovers amiright), but they take it somewhat slow and dont offically start dating until they’re in 9th grade.

Jasper too realizes he’s Not Straight but also doesnt experience romantic attraction (He’s gay and aro). He still dates a couple people before realizing that for sure though.

(Aaron also realizes he’s not entirely cis either. He goes through a couple labels before realizing that genderfluid works for him)

So yeah- by this point they’re starting highschool and Hero and Jasper’s enemy situation is probably at its peak here. It just gets lowkey kinda bad. They’re getting into more and more physical fights until one day they just kinda,, stop?

(The reason they were fighting in the first place plays alot into the fact that they’re angry teens that needed to let out stress and stuff and didm’t know how to do it in a healthy way. And sure, disliking each other certainly played into that and helped fuel the flames but it wasn’t the entire reason. Once they realized that, they did actually properly talk to one another about it which lead to them starting to kinda sorta get along and tone down the fighting.)

Its clear they still dislike each other but they tolerate each other more than before suddenly. (tbh in my mind they never really truly hated each other. They certainly didnt and still dont like each other by any means, but they didnt hate each other either) Eveyones kinda confused by it, but they’re also like “good for them”

By that point they’re about 2 years into highschool and they’re now frienemies. They still get into phyiscal fights on occasion buts its v careful compared to b4. they just kinda vent n sparr. (and thats what we call progress jdjdj)

and uhhh yuhhh

they v much live in what i like to call a sandbox universe. they dont rlly have a set over arching story its just kinda,, kids growing and living their lives

jesus this whooooole chapter makes me so so so sad for touya, like he's canonically a crier and i just have all these images now of him crying off to the side while enji looks at his other kids and gives them the time of day. knowing that he was/is a frustrated crier makes the fact that dabi cant cry cuz of his burned tear ducts that much sadder ohhman

one of the things i cant get over is how touya was SO shunned by his dad that when he went to go tell enji about his fire turning from red to blue, he says "i might be as awesome as shouto sooner or later!" like?? this boy is 13 and shouto is 5 yet he's talking like the brother that's eight years younger than him is better than him and thar it's just a fact. the sky is blue, enji wants to beat all might one day, and shouto is better than the rest of his siblings. nevermind that he's only five and just wants to play with his siblings (and dont even mention to me how shouto says he wants to play with "touya and them" cuz im gonna fucking cry abt it. like even though touya's accepted he's bottom of the ladder in this family, shouto clearly wants some sort of acknowledgement from his older siblings and especially his older brother. IM FVCKN SOBBN). enji has made it clear in this family that shouto was what he was looking for and everyone else is not as important, and i knew this from shouto's pov but it's kinda wild to see it implied so casually in touya's words.

"you'll be glad you created me! i just know it!" HOLY SHIT. god my heart. oh my fuck. literally all enji had to do was show up to the fucking mountain, and he couldnt even do that? what the hell?? your son asks you to go to the mountain, you tell your wife not to let him go traim but she said she couldnt stop him, and instead of going yourself to make sure he's okay and BECAUSE HE ASKED YOU TO COME (and with an actually valid reason, no less! fire changing colour is kind of a big fucking deal!!!) you just?? let him go and let him stay there??? my god the amount of times touya must have burned himself and the trees with tears in his eyes. ahhhHHH!!!

what kills me (and touya too soon?) was that we thought before the back story started that enji forced touya to train till he burned up. then when 290 came out--and definitely after 301--we thought maybe touya overtrained himself and burned up. and sure, he was definitely overtraining, but to find out that the burns that "killed" him started just bc he was crying so much he lost control and didnt know how to ease up on his flames? he was upset and literally trying to get himself to stop crying, and then he just set himself aflame and burned up cuz of all his emotions??? that HURTS. holy fuck.

i cant believe natsuo's feeling lowkey guilty for not socking enji in the face like he wasnt EIGHT???? and let's be real, enji woukdnt have fucking listened to natsuo telling him to talk to touya--he already wasnt listening when touya would straight up say "look at me" and when even rei said touya just wanted enji to look at him and notice him. listen, i know sometimes miscommunications happen in families and children are embarrassed to admit they want attention and so their parents remain unaware that theyre not giving their kid something they want, but touya was as clear as can be on MANY occasions, and even rei agreed touya needed the attention and enji just wasnt listening.

also i know there was discourse abt touya being sexist by telling natsu that "the women in this house are good for nothing" and mb it was partly diff translations cuz i feel like saying "this house" makes it specific to rei and yumi instead of all women everywhere, but even disregarding that--i think it's a valid thought for him to have when rei wasnt standing up for him (where he could see, at least) and yumi admitted herself that she was too scared to interfere and so just tried to fix things and keep appearances. i feel like based on what touya's seen from them, it makes sense that he has that opinion. (also gonna mention that i think rei's and yumi's choices also make sense and i think they were valid, seeing as how they were afraid as well.)

and poor natsu being woken up in the middle of the night (what was implied to be often enough, esp cuz it seemed they share a room and their futons are close) bc of touya's pain. that's a lot of emotional responsibility for an eight year old, and it is also so sad that at 13, touya didnt have anyone else to turn to but his kid brother. at 13, i remember being fully aware of the distinction in maturity between an 8 year old and myself, and it sucks that touya couldnt go to anyone but a younger child with all his pain. i bet yumi being too scared to interfere translated to touya as "she wouldnt help me" and thats another reason he didnt go to the 2nd oldest when he needed to vent. (also not related to this but how the FUCK was natsuo so tall at 8 years old? wh a t)

this chapter. this fucking chapter. my heart aches for touya, and it's just such a huge fucking shame he didnt get the attention and validation and support he needed. there must have been workarounds so that touya could safely use his quirk. there weere DEFINITELY better ways to support your son through a self-destructive quirk, ways that involved actually being there and seeing him. i feel like if someone showed him the attention he needed and talked him through how to better control his emotions (and by extension, his flames) and a positive and healthy way, he could have been someone so great. and if he ever learned how to set aside the way he felt infefior to shouto and saw that shouto just wanted to play with his cool older siblings, it might have been really beneficial to see that there was someone there who thinks he's cool and gave him attention just bc he was an older brother, who needed him when everyone else in the househild didnt seem to need him.

and lastly, the fact that the chapter ends with rei saying that shouto is the family hero and that shouto will have to face dabi?? and it makes me angry that shouto has to take on that responsibility. that he was five and suffering for things he wasnt even a part of, couldnt be properly aware of, bc he was so young. he just saw that he was separated from his siblings and that his dad bullied his mom, then grew up shouldering enji's heavy goals and high expectations and abusive training alongside the barely-there memories of his older brother who died (i say barely there bc if natsu didnt even know shouto liked cold soba, shouto was definitely not around enough to have solid memories of touya before he "died"), and now he has to do the emotional labour of fighting his villain brother (who i bet shouto lowkey empathizes with when he thinks abt it late at night) as well as suffer the physical consequences of that agni kai. and it makes me angry that he has to do that, bc he's a Good Guy and he probably feels he has some sort of filial and familial responsibility. he's only 16. he just wanted to play with touya and them, and now he has to deal with this horse shit dabi's causing cuz his dad's an emotionally neglecting asshat who couldnt see past his dumb fucking ego until he saw shouto play with a bunch of kids during shou's remedial exam a decade after his eldest son burned himself to death. what the fuckety fuck.

lastly, since we saw touya burn uo the way he did... did he really just like... burn so much his jaw fell off, and that's how they found the jawbone? cuz holy hot (BURNING too soon???) damn that must have been painful as all hell. i wonder if next chapter we get to see if someone found touya at the park and helped him out and sorted out the jaw bone thing, or if we finally get to see if deku wakes up lol.

anyways this chapter hurt my heart big time, and i kinda wanna draw kid touya crying while being overlooked by his family to let out some of those feelings but we'll see.

and i still stand by my idealistic and naively optimistic hope that dabi gets redeemed and they soend some actually time together as a family (without enji. or at least, with an enji that has apologized to touya in seiza. like, forehead-to-floor apologize.)

does this hope sort out how dabi redeems himself, seeing as how he's murdered people in cold blood and shouldnt be excused for that bc those actions are also inarguably terrible? no. not sure how he could redeem himself for that kinda stuff honestly, but it doesnt mean i dont still somehow want the todoroki sibs to get along, cuz im weak for mending families.

also id like to send a huge kudos out into the world to rei todoroki for being firm for once and for also not running away from her mistakes like her asshole husband has been. i really admire and respect that. she was afraid and being abused, but now that she's been away from enji and has had time to heal, now that her and shouto are in the mend and she's seen that her eldest son is alive and a villain, she's a place where she can acknowledge that even though she was a victim too, she played a part in touya's emotional neglect and she's taking responsibility and that speaks to some incredible fucking strength. damn.

i hope one day that dabi realizes the same in regards to his mother and natsuo, who shouldered a lot of his emotional pain and suffered the consequences of his outbursts (even though his emotions are valid and his outbursts understandable, he still hurt rei and put a lot of pressure on natsu), and i also hope he sees that for all that he hates his father, his whole existence revolves around enji and it's a shitty place to be (and then he'll have ANGST abt it and that shit will be!! so good!!!)

yeah i think those were all my feelings. i had so many lol. their family situation is so difficult, i hope they all turn out okay and alive and healing.

oh i guess i also wanted to say that i kept calling enji an asshat and asshole cuz he was for sure, but i still think his redemption is valid and im glad he's taking those steps to be a better person by being a better father. i dont know if id want his family to forgive him for all that horrible shit he put them through (im personally hoping that no matter what anyone else does, natsuo will choose to to cooperate in the healing of his family as a unit but will never forgive enji) but i think it's good of people to try to be better than they were yesterday regardless of whether or not they get forgiveness. i dont personally like enji, but i dont hate that he's getting a redemption. i just hope it's a redemption that makes sense and forces him to put in the work, and isnt something like a death sacrifice for shouto or dabi. i want him to be alive and i want his redemption process to hurt like a fucking bitch while he forces himself to make better choices and be a better person, cuz redemption isnt supposed to be easy in the slightest. i GUESS all the crying he did in 302 was a good start.

GODDAMN SORRY this took a while cause i suck at putting thoughts together. i apologize for my obvious briefs bias i have more hcs for them than the son family despite loving them both :pensive: anyway heres some random stuff

briefs hcs:

all of the briefs are pros at non-verbal communication. i hc that saiyans have their own language (and also in my own Mind Canon they still have their fuckin tails) and a lot of it is done through tail movement/body posture/grunts/etc. etc so theyve all sort of picked that up. even bulma, who doesnt have a tail, is pretty good at getting across what she means without actually speaking. they still do speak normally but it comes in handy sometimes considering that both trunks and vegeta are prone to running out of speaking energy or getting very frustrated with words, so having another way to communicate works very well for them

vegeta is fffffffffffffffffffurry. without getting too deep into my own General Saiyan hcs (thats why i made a whole ass four subspecies!!) i think that the entirety of planet vegeta tended to be very hot aside from the part where the castle was, where the temperature would drop. meaning that saiyans working in the palace would grow thicker fur around certain parts of their body, and in the royal saiyans theyd be Especially fluffy. he kept it down on earth, but he has thick patches of fur around the bottom parts of his arms and legs. kind of like snowy boots and gloves! he also has fur that grows in on his neck like a lions mane.

future trunks is an actions sponge, vegeta is a words sponge. vegeta will pick up words VERY quickly regardless if he fully understands the meaning of it or not (completely inspired by 'THATS RIGHT BOYS... MONDO COOL' in z) and future trunks will unintentionally mimic the actions of people - around people he looks up to he might take a few small mannerisms from but this extends to copying the disposition of anyone; he's just very adaptive. this is the most obvious (and funniest) when he's around vegeta bc it really shows like. yeah damn that sure is vegeta's son

vegeta & bulla have an intimidating bastard smirk naturally. their natural smiles are pretty frightening and they have to put effort into a 'normal' one. this also extends to current trunks, his default smile is the Vegeta Bastard Smirk but he learned to have a normal smile quicker than his father and sister. future trunks has a slightly unnerving natural smile (the fact that his pupils are always drawn so fucking small makes me hc that he just has a very intimidating look of 'cat thats about to pounce on an unfortunate trapped mouse' whenever he smiles) but he learned to look normal even quicker than current trunks since he's around humans a Lot and is sort of their uh, Hope. don't want to look scary to the people who depend on you!

bulma has some fighting knowledge and mildly good ki control. vegeta taught her it as a just in case so that she'd be able to defend herself against Bigger threats if he wasn't there and also so she could raise her own ki to alert someone to her if she had to.

vegeta is extremely clean and can not stand to have things disorganized for more than like... an hour before he has to tidy everything up. every time he goes down to the lab and bulma is passed out in a pile of bolts and circuit boards it kills him inside just a little bit

future trunks has little concept of power control. since his timeline was always in danger it wasn't really an important thing for him to learn. the amount of mugs he's accidentally crushed is impressive

vegeta tends to not sound like he's asking questions when he is. he doesn't add the proper infliction to the end of his questions and just sounds flat most of the time. it's confusing to people who dont know him well.

im not even gonna lie, im a BIG fan of the chill demon panchy headcanon so i love the idea that the briefs have a Lil bit of demon in them but just dont know it ghjnkm

vegeta doesn't really get labels but he's bisexual & "debatably a man", bulma is bisexal & bigender transfem (sometimes shes Wamen and other times its like "gender? no"), bulla is a nonbinary lesbian, current trunks is a bisexual trans man & future bulma forgot to explain the concept of gender and sexuality to future trunks so he's a little confused on that front and his gender & sexuality are "i have literally never thought abt these concepts in my life but i think men are nice. i refuse to think about gender though" (i actually have two main hcs for future trunks which are either gay trans man or more-feminine-presenting nonbinary bisexual)

son hcs:

goku is Not as fluffy as vegeta at all, but he does have fur on certain parts of his body. namely on the back of his elbows + ankles, down his back connecting to his tail, and on his shoulders. its inherented from gine!

gohan is learning saiyan language from vegeta! vegeta acts grumpy about it but he's glad to have someone to teach. when gohan learned that most of the history had been lost he basically wished shenron for a big ol book on saiyan culture and gave it to vegeta just as an act of kindness and vegeta was like [in an angry voice but very touched] "Ok. Sit down. You're learning." by extension gohan is also teaching the rest of his family!

i will take ox king being actually non-human to my grave so like, chichi has horns and a very short ox tail! gohan and goten both have horns, but they're hidden by hair. goten's horns are bigger than gohans.

goten also has a more ox-like tail, with a little puff of fur at the end. generally, gohan looks more saiyan-like and goten looks more ox/human-like.

although he keeps up his cheery demeanor very well, goku is still haunted pretty badly by like... everything that’s happened in his life. he still has frequent nightmares about cell & buu specifically.

gohan will freak out at worse, zone out at best, if he's even tapped on the neck. it reminds him of the whole 'getting his neck snapped on namek' so that area is pretty off limits to everyone

goten gets along really well with android 17. they both have a love for nature and 17s kind of like his chill uncle, so whenever he gets too stressed out or just needs a break you can find him face down on the ground outside of 17's place on monster island.

goku is really really good at remembering completely random shit. bulma uses this to her advantage whenever she's working and has him memorize random technology stuff. a week later goku can not remember what he had for breakfast that morning but as soon as bulma asks "hey do you remember what i told you last week" hes like "oh yeah sure i have no idea what it means but [blurts out three hours worth of technical garble]"

oh boy is this a headcanon that has a lot more depth to it than just a bullet on a tumblr post, but gohan has DID!

goku, like vegeta, doesnt get labels either, and does not even Try, ask him about any of it and hes like "i dont get the gender thing but i think lots of people look nice :)" gohan is gay and like vegeta, "debatably a man", goten + chichi are both bi nonbinary, & pan is a lesbian trans woman.

both:

bulla and pan are both into music! i think theyd mess around making their own stuff w/ launchpads

i have a general hc of ki mixing or shielding, essentially, if youre close enough to someone people wont be able to tell apart your ki and you can also 'shield' someone with your ki for a small amount of time. if vegeta has his energy low, his and bulma's energy are the same. same thing with goku and chichi! goten and trunks are near impossible to tell apart, and same thing with gohan and videl.

though goten and trunks are both protective over their younger siblings, gotenks is that protectiveness times a thousand. look at bulla or pan wrong for 2 seconds and you're going to have an angry gotenks in your face asking if you have any last words. i like to think that trunks and goten fused casually a lot, especially around the time where bulla and pan were young, so its basically goten and trunks own attachment to them PLUS gotenks' attachment to them as his own person combined.

i like to pretend end of z did not happen the way it did so uub, using nimbus, travels back and forth a lot. goku isn’t the only one who teaches him how to fight as goten, gohan and trunks all think of him like a little brother and love training with him!

cell, as cool of a villian as he is, definitely should have had a creepier final form. or multiple- just something that really drives in the fact that he's made up of other's dna & fuckin ABSORBS people. also his first two forms should have had a different absorbtion method other than the tail thing (not the drinking thing thats fine) it just feels.   Weird. not good

it would have been far more interesting to keep the bitter attitude towards vegeta that future trunks had imo... in super trunks was going through a Lot granted but the fact tht he wasnt more confrontational to vegeta being a dick to him seemed kind of off considering his attitude in z i just.. think it would be interesting and far better if they had more of a back and forth 'family but lowkey hate each other' relationship

AVENGERS

- being apart of such a close knit team you knew you could trust them with ANYTHING

- when you were just 11 they found you at a hydra base

- hyrda basically tested shit on you

- and now you’re like a smaller/younger version of bucky??

- at first they didn’t really know what to think being a small kid, with so much fear in your eyes they had a hard time trying to figure out how to communicate with you

- but Bucky was the first one to step up

- he knew what it was like to be horrified of the world so he just sat with you in your hospital bed and showed you movies and tv shows

- there wasn’t a lot of talking, maybe small mumbles or grunts when you needed something and couldn’t get out of the bed to reach it bc tony didn’t want you getting hurt

- but eventually you warmed up to him

- you’d reach out and tap his metal arm

- laugh at obscene crap on the tv

- and you soon found yourself intertwining your hand with his own or having your arm looped through his

- he didn’t think much of it at first,,

- but when it was time for you to move into your room you were glued to his side

- pulling on his metal fingers so he’d follow you

- arms bumping eachothers

- and once you got more comfortable with the rest of the team,,

- well they all seemed to notice it

- whenever Thor would visit from asgard he would NOT leave your side

- always picking you up, causing you to errupt in giggles as he threw you over his shoulder and took large steps around the compound

- When working in the lab with Bruce and Tony you’d talk to F.R.I.D.A.Y while watching them tinker, your chair right up next to theirs and your head leaning against their shoulders

- Bruce at first was,,,,

- confused? a little shocked? bc how could anyone want to curl up next to him?? or hold his hand??

- but ofc you always reassured him with a small squeeze of his arm or fingers

- Tony thought it was funny more than anything

- how a kid could just suddenly take comfort in holding earths mightiest heroes hands, when most people would even be shocked to look at them

- which only made him more inclinded to offer you a comforting squeeze on the shoulders or a side hug when you completed some form of new tech

- Steve knew how to comfort you since he did the same w/ bucky for so many years

- everytime you’d panic he’d pull you into a hug

- make some tea

- turn on some nice music

- and either dance with you or just sit on the couch and have a chat

- dancing would normally end in laughing fits and large smiles

- chatting would either end in a few tears or a big grin on your face as you both decided to put on a movie

Mm... it’s a bit unclear, but Mara speaks in a way that highly implies that there are native Etherians already on Etheria when the First Ones arrive. One of them being Razz. 

I doubt that Etherians really know much about their own history; their records seem sporadic to me, so they may or may not know that the First Ones weren’t actually the first sapients on the planet.

And Prime doesn’t really call them the First Ones; he simply acknowledges that that is what Adora and the Etherians call them. I don’t recall him calling them anything specific.

bc then when it comes to the whole, heart of etheria thing, and the runestones, and all of that? and then the princesses? I'm honestly just so confused as to how it all is supposed to fit together. bc then uh where did the five royal families come from to begin with? were the runestones there from the start? were those five families magically connected with those runestones from the start or were they only connected and whatnot after the first ones were all like "hey so uh, if you synch up to this rock you can do cooler magic" but then if etheria was already being ruled by several different courts of elemental royalty or wtf ever, then they couldnt really call themselves the first ones. but Also it's just (and I think you've addressed that the showrunners seem So Much More Interested in telling the catradora gf drama angst saga then fleshing out their world building lmao) it's kinda just like... why do all of these families only have one child? why do each of the princesses of power not have a sibling? like what if - considering mooooost of them seem to be orphans lol - one of them trips down the stairs and smacks their head on the floor and dies?? I guess uhhh, now your kingdom doesn't have a ruler??

So, my understanding of the runestones is that they were devices created by the First Ones in order to enhance and better control the magic of those naturally in tune with certain elemental aspects of the planet. I don’t think this is explicitly stated in canon, but I assume as much by extrapolating from the purpose of She-Ra’s sword. As we learn over the course of the show, the First Ones did not create She-Ra, but they did create the sword. She-Ra is an Etherian entity, some form of planetary guardian or what-have-you, and the First Ones created the runestone sword in order to control that entity and incorporate it into the Heart of Etheria. I would assume that the other runestones serve a similar purpose.

Now, as far as our current Etherians not knowing this: this is a fairly common sci-fi trope. The idea of the original purpose of something (usually some form of advanced tech) being lost as information is lost to the ages is often used to facilitate protagonists not immediately knowing what a thing is for. Like... oh, if you’ve ever read the Dragonriders of Pern series. That’s a good example: Earth colonists land on a planet, find it inhospitable, genetically engineer empathetic dragons to help fight the threat, and... well, people live there for generations, forget their origins, regress technologically, and just assume that there have always been dragons on Pern.

As far as single child Princesses and whatnot: likely a by-product of the show already having a million characters, and siblings not being needed for the plot! I mean, the show already had enough to deal with; no need to add more fluff.

and yeah it's a kids show but it doesnt ;__; none of the any of it makes sense to me.

what is the Heart of Etheria even supposed to Do again??? like we know it's a superweapon that channels magic and like, Mara trapped etheria in despondos 1000 years ago so my soft theory is that the first ones were maybe using it as a last ditch effort against Prime? I mean is the sword just.... gps coordinated to fire at prime regardless of where he is in the universe or whatever?? bc I mean at that point is prime on etheria's doorstep?? I don't! I dont understaaaand.

Well, since it never fires, we cannot know for certain, but Death Star-style planetary destroyer seems logical. 

I do like the headcanon that it was actually a last ditch effort to defeat Prime, especially since we now know that the First Ones fought him and apparently lost!

This is an interesting concept to me because, while their colonization of Etheria is widely regarded as Bad, because colonialism is Bad, the idea that they did it in order to try to save their own lives, and potentially the lives of others in the universe, makes the situation far more morally grey than it might initially appear. Yes, their colonization harmed the Etherians, but might it have been worth it, if they had succeeded and killed Prime a thousand years ago? Would that have prevented the genocides he committed on other worlds? Would sacrificing Etheria have been worth it if, say, a thousand other inhabited planets had been spared as a result? Not a set of questions the show asks, but meaningful ones, in my opinion.

why does Prime want it? like is he not under the impression that messing with it is gonna like... pretty much blow up everything within a big ass huge af radius? he said something or other about purifying the universe and starting over or some nonsense like that but??? like you'd be dead too my guy. you might be egotistical and narcissistic and vain af but I dont think he's that stupid as to think he's somehow immune to giant fricken explosions.

Oh, I think he has some idea of how to survive it. He can body hop. He is, in some sense of the word, eternal because of that. If She-Ra hadn’t stepped in, he likely would have succeeded in continuing his existence. The way he speaks, one may even infer that this sort of thing has happened before.

But, hard to say! Thankfully, we don’t have to find out c:

a certain groupchat im in with so many beautiful people has brought this idea to my attention. most definitely something i canon abt the two siblings now, i totally see it.

synopsis: lev’s (gorgeoues, beautiful, pretty, amazing, cute) sister, alisa, teaches lev russian phrases... except its all backwards...

i literally see this happening btwn the two siblings, where lev’s sister alisa ends up teaching lev russian phrases with the incorrect translations 

she’s such a sweetie pie i dont see her intentionally teaching lev the incorrect translations for stuff- so yes,

with the power of google and tumblr i present to you: lev walking around like an idiot :) (i love him v much tho and hes baby all the way) 

okay lets start with the “basics” 

first off is хуй (pronounced: hooy), and it means dick 

omg i what am i writing 

okay so like, yaku probably does something nice for alisa (meaning he puts lev in check bc lev is stoopid)

and alisa decides to thank him like “you have such a big hooy yaku~~” 

and everyone on nekomas vbc team looks at the two siblings like ????? what did she just say 

and lev looks at her and she goes “hooy means heart!!” 

omfg not only lev, but all of nekoma is using this word now and its so bad bc they all say it so confidently whose gonna tell them- 

and like, whenever someone does anything remotely nice lev will tell them that they “have such a big hooy” and that they are so kind and that he appreciates them 

which ultimately, this term rubs off on karasuno and fukorodani (specifically hinata and bokuto) 

quite literally a term that spreads like wildfire and they all use it so mindlessly eye- 

okay, next term: Трахни тебя (pronounced: poshyol ty), and it means: fuck you (omg i hate writing swears bc lev is involved and he is BABY I CANNOT-) 

okay but alisa and lev are most likely parting ways early in the morning, and he is going to a summer week camp for vb practice (w the boys ayyy) omg i hate myself so much 

but like, she probably wants to say something along the lines of “i love you” but she ends up saying fuck you (dw, i checked and its the aggresive kind, no not the kinky aggresive just straight up like a screw you) pls i hate that im making this more awkward by the second 

okay but like, hes probably leaving in the morning and shes like “poshyol ty” and he kind turns back, confused look on his face 

and hes like “whats that mean????” and shes like, with a bright smile, “it means I LOVE YOU” and he repeats it a few times

and this poor bby uses this ALL the mcfreaking time now

yaku is abt to kick him? “pls stop poshyol ty” 

kuroo wants to give him shit for sucking at blocking? “im sorry but dont forget poshyol ty” 

omg KENMA WHEN HES MAD “kenma im so sorry youre the best pls poshyol ty” 

so it probably circulates around the team, and by now all of the nekoma vbc are using this on one another ALL the time

again, its something picked up by other teams 

i.e: bokuto to akaashi, hinata to kags, and it even reaches oikawa, who uses it on iwa, satori to ushijima (bye these r ships) 

but finally, poor alisa thought that by saying Отыебис от меныа (pronounced: otyebis ot menya) she was saying “your presence is nice” but in reality she was saying “get the fuck away from me” 

omg pls this is so terrible someone tell her-

but like anyways, when she says it so him, its when hes upset bc the whole team is upset at him bc he almost made the team lose

aka putting them at risk for his shitty blocking skills

and hes like “no one likes me, no one wants to be around me” 

and alisa is like: “hey, otyebis ot menya, and if its from me, they even appreciate you too :)”

and he asks her to explain the meaning to him and shes like “it means i appreciate your presence” 

and so he cheers up, and goes to practice the next day

and he apologises to everyone and then goes, “as much as i suck otyebis ot menya” 

like ????? and everyone appreciates it!! like >.< omg i hate this 

but in general, another phrase that spreads like wildfire!! 

at this point, everyone thinks hes a sweetheart (and dumbass) whos using loving terms with his team and friends!!

now, onto the “swear words” 

which, in reality, are words/phrases with positive meanings :( 

ah i really hope someone tells everyone wassup w these terms

but, lets start w this beautiful term: Я верю в тебя (pronounced: ya veryu v tebya)

this means: i believe in you (and reader, i believe in you, you can do anything you put your mind as long as it doesnt harm you or anyone)

but anyways, this is probably a term that slips out during a fight btwn the two siblings

is it weird that i cant imagine them fighting often, or at all- 

okay anyways, back to the hc

theyre probably fighting about how lev left his dirty laundry in the br after the shower, or how he left his dishes on the dining table and how he isnt necessarily cleaning up after himself

and shes tired of it, so she starts yelling at him

and shes like “oh my god! youre so useless! veryu v tebya” 

and he kinda stops saying anything back and stares at her c o n f u s e d

and shes like ?? whatre you looking so lost for

and hes like, what does that mean

and shes like, it means that you arent capable of anything. 

so this poor boy thinks that the term “i believe in you” now means “you arent capable of anything” 

when kenma, kuroo, and yaku treat him a little meaner on a bad day, he’ll be sure to mumble it under his breathe

when he blocks hinata’s spike, hes sure to yell it out proudly, and everyone kinda is like ???? 

and so he explains what it means, and 

hinata isnt phased by the fact that lev just called him incapable bc poor bby got to learn another russian phrase 

and then kenma puts two and two together and realizes what levs been calling him

*insert a mad kenma* 

*insert a mad kuroo*

*insert a mad yaku* 

okay but srsly the whole nekoma vbc starts using this term to clown lev when he messes up!!

in reality, everyones the clown bc theyre using the wrong term altogether

another term lev would learn from alisa, would be Мой милый ангел (pronounced: moy miliy angel) 

and what alisa thinks it means is : you are not an angel/youre a fallen angel/youre the devil 

bc like some languages dont have a term for something, so they use another term and then the word not in front of it, so alisa assumes thats what it is 

so she just assumes this word is something to call someone a devil or basically imply theyre a bad person 

this term slips out from alisa, when someone says a comment about lev during a game, 

ooooo lets say the nekoma vs. nohebi game to make it to nationals 

and someone says something along the lines of lev being a terrible blocker

from across the court

and out of nowhere 

alisa is like “hes better than you! moy miliy angel” 

poor bby thought she was defending her brother

okay she was but still- 

you know what i mean 

but anyways, everyone looks at her 

and she just shrugs it off bc she doesnt owe anyone an explanation

but after the game, yaku’s younger sister brings it up in front of them

and she explains to everyone that it means a devil 

and theyre all like ?? 

alisa saying something mean- this is new

but in her defense it was bc she was standing up for her brother

as she should- 

but on a real note, lev adopts this term to roast people during plays and makes them confused hehehe their faces r funny bc they get so lost and bam nekoma scores

a term that kageyama adopts

he expands his vocab when hes mad at hinata from boke, to boke and moy miliy angel 

tanaka probably uses this term on people who piss him off

imagine him saying it w his buddha face LMAO

but lastly, a term that lev would learn from alisa is Радость моя

this term is pronounced as radost moya

it means “my joy” 

so, when alisa is stressing over something (maybe hw, maybe over the fact that lev keeps making a fool of himself in front of yakus sister) 

she’s like muttering under her breath, 

“this is gonna be the death of me, ugh why is this radost moya“ 

like LMAO she thinks this term means terrible, or my bad luck

no sweetie its the opposite

its just so funny, lev hears her and she explains the term

so he begins to use it all the time

and i mean ALL THE TIME

when he cant block? radost moya. when someone reminds him that he isnt the ace? radost moya. 

so, when bokuto is in emo mode, lev is like radost moya, its just bl (ha if your mind went to boy-) bad luck

and bokuto is immediately out of his emo mode bc he is LEARNING a new term from his fave russian teacher uwu

but again, a term that spreads like wild fire

this is what kags calls hinata, iwa to oikawa, and semi to shirabu

overall, alisa teaching lev incorrect russian phrases, is lev teaching the whole of anyone who plays volleyball ever incorrect russian phrases

these humans look like straight up clowns 

i CaNnOt emphasize how dumb they look- 

basically just becomes a crack fest

bonus (kinda-): 

lev, kenma, kuroo, tsuki, kags, akaashi, bokuto, yams, and yaku all went to the fish market one day

they all witness kuroo, bokuto, lev and hinata do something stupid with their shared one brain cell

so, naturally, the others flame them in russian

and someone nearby is like 

“aww its so sweet you believe them,, your friendship is so cute“

queue the whole crew (ugh i hate that term but its better than squad) turning to look towards lev 

and BAM they all start asking this random person for translations on stuff

they all look so shocked and mad and sad

*insert a mad kenma*

*insert tsuki mocking everyone*

just funNy stuff hahahaha

It's pretty much speculation people made to peg Sandy, a woman only mentioned like ONE or TWO TIMES, a villan. Soda isn't that much better if she even did cheat anyway. Soda regularily called women names, cat call, whistle, flirted. Pretty much was unloyal in different ways. Soda isn't that innocent either.

Steve doesnt fucking hate Ponyboy.

Steve is pretty much described as Soda's best friend, who's gf's name is Evie, and "hates Pony"

Sandy is a teenager who made a mistake/choice if she did cheat. But running away from her problems is something a lot of people do. Ok. I know a lot of people who run away from their problems. Its pretty fucking common.

I DO NOT BLAME SYLVIA FOR CHEATING ON DALLAS. The man is in jail pretty much all of the time, he is bad with communicating his feelings, he's a fucking asshole. He probably cheated on her too, and treated her like shit. Don't villanize Sylvia and treat Dal like some victim of "bad gf syndrome" when they both made mistakes in the relationship.
