I got this idea for a fanfic after watching clips of blackadder and hugh laurie in drag as "georgina". Like would anyone read a hilson genderswap fic? House is a woman and wilson is still a dude but the setup/feels is 2000s bestfriends romcom?? Dont need to imagine girl!house as hugh in drag, unless that floats your boat. Personally I'm casting Lena headey.

What I got so far.

Summary:

Georgina "george" house is the girl wilsons mother warned him about. She's a foul mouthed, ill tempered, insane and insanely hot, beast of a woman. 

Too bad he went and fell in love with her years ago as soon as she flashed him those icy blue eyes while bailing him out of prison. And now she just happens to be the love of his life his bestfriend. 

Also too bad because Georgina house refuses to fall in love with dr. Panty peeler james wilson.

Cuddy: Whats she done now?

Wilson: Shes done nothing i know of. I havent seen her all day. Probably off kicking puppies, cooking babies or watching general hospital. Its cameron poking her nose in where it doesnt belong.

Cuddy: Ah. Judging from the level of frustration tho this is still about house. If you know youre sensitive about others picking on the wound that wont heal, thats been festering for more than a decade, you could just do something about it, right?

Wilson: I cant fire cameron. I dont see theres much other-

Cuddy: Or you could ask house out on a date like a normal person.

Wilson: Are you joking? One does not just ask house out on a date. One has to carefully orchestrate a long game she wont spot from a mile away. One has to prove their worth as a suitor by jumping through impossible hoops of fire with the looming threat of death or at the very least maiming, on every corner. She's both the princess and the dragon.

Cuddy: youre scared. Thats valid. Explains the not doing anything and pining for so long. Gotta ask how long youre planning on keeping this up tho. Theres a pool running on when you finally have a mental breakdown, skip everything in between, and just blurt out the proposal. There's also a bet on whether she accepts and another one on how long it takes before the divorce. I didn't put in for the last one, youre welcome.

hmm okay to round up some current disparate tmagp thoughts into one place:

-> the fear taxonomy: I'm not quite sure where I sit on the desires theory currently, but I think it's worth noting that while both of our case subjects from the first episode were explicitly afraid of the spooky things happening to them, none of the rest have been, and I think it's really interesting that tom the horror blogger's whole problem was that he was so desensitized to fear it made him foolhardy (the exact thing our lovely ms georgina barker overcompensated so hard to avoid). yes, you could pick probably any archives statement and try to frame it around a desire instead of a fear because that's how character motivations work, but I don't think it's wrong to point out that since episode two all of our subjects have been remarkably chill about the Horrors happening to them. I'm not totally onboard with the desires at time of writing, I think there a few details that don't quite line up with that idea, but I'm still keeping a pin in the theory.

I also don't think it's wrong to point out that things like "music so hauntingly beautiful it makes a crowd tear itself to bloody pieces" and "paranoia and eye-related gore popping up in conjunction to the magnus institute" are familiar scenarios and seem to match up to the entities as we know them. those are very specific motifs connected to very specific types of Horrors and I think saying it's random coincidence that we're seeing them again is a bit of a weird take.

-> norris, chester, and augustus. in-universe, these voices appeared out of nowhere about a year ago, and one of the central mysteries set up so far is "what the hell is up with all this weird tech?", I think it is a perfectly reasonable assumption to think these voices are part of the mystery and not just an excuse to get jonny and alex's voices in the show. if that were the case, why would there be a third voice? yes, this podcast is meant to be comprehensible to new listeners, but I don't think that rules out any direct ties to archives, I think part of the function of having fresh protagonists who don't know anything about the events of archives is that, if the audience needs to learn anything about the first show, they can learn it along with a viewer-surrogate character.

personally, I think it very unlikely that the voices are literally jon, martin, and jonah's actual consciousnesses trapped in computers, I think those characters' stories are done and there's something funkier happening here (neither them nor not them but a secret third thing, yknow), but dismissing any idea that the voices are related to the characters, again, feels like a weird take.

-> gwen bouchard. honestly I feel like the way the production team have treated gwen's connection to elias vs the way some fans have come at is kind of illustrative. I've seen a couple of groups of fans get weirdly smug about the idea that we don't know gwen is related to elias, her name could just be a red herring, meanwhile on the tmagp post-launch stream everyone there took it as obvious that gwen is a bouchard and thus related to elias. not everything is red herrings, guys. it would be an extremely weird writing move to set up a bunch of stuff with clear links and parallels to archives and have it all be meaningless.

Some lore about the strays I've been feeding since late June

There was a friendly grey tabby cat down my block I used to see fairly often that I named Georgio. I unsuccessfully tried to get him to come back to my house but I suspect he might already have a home as there was a specific area he didn't seem to want to leave. I eventually stopped seeing him. I hope his owners simply decided to keep him inside.

I saw another grey tabby weeks later, that I initially thought was Georgio but upon closer inspection, it wasn't. He was a bit more chubby and his fur was more floofy. I named him Georgie Pordgie. Georgie is a little bit skittish but unlike other cats that run the moment I open the door to check on him, he'll just occasionally look up at me while snacking on the food I put out. I believe Georgie also has a home because his fur is always shiny and he's wearing a flea collar.

However, some nights I see Georgie is accompanied by a young calico that I've yet to name. He'll just stand by and watch her eat. Very adorable.

There was a third tabby that is much skinnier and has orange patches of fur. He eventually stopped coming around, but I noticed him hanging out in the yard of the people who live five houses down from me. They said they've been feeding him and that he comes around after he heard their own cat meowing from inside the house. Star crossed lovers? Anyway, I named him Sultan. He's not as cautious as Georgie is, he'll actually come to you directly if you have food but he flinches if you try to pet him. Hopefully I can win him over.

Next to the house beside where Sultan hangs out is an orange and grey cat that I named Mr Man. He's kind of stuck up. The people are feeding him but he doesn't like strangers even when I try to beckon him with treats. He will look at you with absolute apathy. Next door to him is another grey tabby that I sometimes seen him bully. I named her Georgina.

Georgina is very friendly. If she sees you she doesn't do anything but if you stop and call out, she'll come trotting up to you and rub against your leg. Such a nice lady.

There are a few others but I've yet to get to know them.

2024 Horror Challenge: [20/?]

↳“Some things should stay in the past.” (I think this what he said?? I can't remember lolol) The Watchers (2024) dir. Ishana Night Shyamalan

Plot: A 28-year-old artist gets stranded in an expansive, untouched forest in western Ireland. Finding shelter, she unknowingly becomes trapped alongside three strangers who are stalked by mysterious creatures every night.

Starring: Dakota Fanning, Georgina Campbell, Olwen Fouere & Oliver Finnegan

Okay, so I actually only just got out of the movie theater from watching this not too long ago, which was an impulsive decision I made this morning since it was my off day & figured why not. lol I actually haven't been back to the theater in forever cuz you know, money & convenience but it did feel good to remember what's so great about the experience (even if there was literally only 2 other people in the same showing as me since I went to a cheap matinee lmao) Anyway, about the movie, I didn't really feel the biggest need to go see it tbh but I have been curious about it. I didn't know too much beforehand since I've mostly avoided spoilers and I knew Dakota was starring in it, who I've always liked since she was a child. Also, that ofc, this is directed by M. Night Shyamalan's daughter (which is naturally gonna maybe give you some biased expectations about it) and my track record with him isn't the most solid, to say the least. BUT I did wanna give Ishana a fair chance since I've seen people point out that she has her own style, plus this story is based on a book so I went in with an open mind. Overall, I don't think I was totally in love with it but seeing it in the theater definitely enhanced the actual experience of watching it as they intended it. First, whoever did the sound mixing for this movie did a great job. Cuz there were moments that got me a couple times. lol There were some jump scares that didn't do too much to get me throughout but the knocks?? Damn, I'm glad I was seated in the back so the guys didn't see me flinch. XD I don't think the movie itself was too scary since I think in true PG-13 form they chose not to show certain things. There's a lot that is suggested and people who hate gore can watch this knowing that it never crosses the line of being bloody. It does feel very plot heavy (the lore of it all), which is interesting because at the same time there really isn't a whole lot to the story until much later when they reveal a twist (it wouldn't be a Shyamalan movie without at least one lol) but I didn't mind too much at first. By the hour mark tho, I did start to think it was feeling a little too long tho considering so I will say pacing was my main issue with this one. We would get these snippets of exposition throughout in between the bits of action in a way that felt a little forced maybe or at least the formula felt repetitive. But that said, I did enjoy the lore itself tho. Like, I wanted more of that than some of the stuff we got. lol Gotta point out that I do have an appreciation for ensemble stories in small spaces and the actors all did a wonderful job, especially Dakota. She is able to say so much with those eyes of hers without uttering a word. In one particular scene, she got me good. I also thought they did a nice job of establishing the aesthetic and feel of the movie right from the jump with a strong opening scene to set the mood. So, while it's got plenty of flaws that make it probably a 6/10 movie for me, there were things going for it as well. I think you can tell it's a first movie by the director but it shows potential. The ingredients for a stronger movie are there so while like I said, I didn't leave the theater loving it, I can appreciate its intentions. Also, it made me wanna read the book to see if I prefer that. If nothing else, it got me back in a movie theater so I'm grateful for that!

The alarm clock woke her up from a very lovely dream, she lay there for a while, " ohhh I didn't want to wake up"! Georgina thought to herself, " I was talking to Henry damn it"! It must have been the 30th time she'd had this dream where she dreamt she was talking to him. 

Rubbing her eyes she climbed out of the big double bed with yawn and a stretch, " First things first Let Frodo out"! So she sleepily walked into her kitchen. It was 8.30am which was usually late for she usually up at seven, Georgina was one of those people was careful with her choices of whom she chooses to date at the moment she happy being single. 

Opening the back door she let out Frodo and then turned to making her coffee, one of the things that Georgina loved most was watching THE TUDORS all the way though over and over again, her best friend Poppy Granger thought she was on the verge of losing her wits she's even sat and watched with her, " honestly if I've seen it once I've seen it thousands of times"! Poppy laughed, poppy was a Executive producer was a job and she was engaged to her lovely man Jack Wyatt whom she met on a night out with Georgina, now the rest is history as they say. 

Switching on the kettle, she walked to the window to check on Frodo, she was snuffling about the garden. 

True, Georgina was happy for Poppy and Jack for soon Poppy would Mrs Jack Wyatt and again she would herself alone except for Frodo, her white Frenchie. 

Her day consisted of reading books and relaxing and watching THE TUDORS again on loop, not before she had a message from Poppy. 

Hey Georgie  Poppy how about a girls night out again this Friday? Could be good"! Popp xx 🙂

Georgina wasn't the one for going out on huge nights out she was more into creatre Comforts it's not to say that she didn't want to have a relationship it's just she preferred to air on the side of Caution when it came to dating men, she had imagined dating Henry Cavill lots of times in her dreams what a blissful dream could been alas no why would anyone like him go for a plain boring woman like her his exciting movie star known for being in the DC universe as Superman but not even that could induce her into dating him in reality. 

Reality was so much more cruller than the dream that she had that night so she clung to the dream that she had. She was somewhat of a novice when it came to dating, she never the point in it because as she so often said " It ends unhappily" and she didn't want that not for herself. 

Georgina was so much of a fan she even followed him on YouTube @Superhenrycavill and on Instagram @henrycavill, she liked to keep up with his goings on. 

She'd even made Poppy sit  and watch THE TUDORS with her but Poppy was a bit prudish; she didn't like the sex in it, she did like the death scenes in it, " remind me why you watch it again"? Georgie replied " Because I like Henry Cavill that's all"!, " hmm like him is the understatement of the century"! Poppy retorted sarcastically, bobbing her tongue out. " Honestly, do you have no shame in cyber stalking him, " I'm not cyberstalking

 anyone I just like to see what has happened, that's all …. Are you telling me you wouldn't do the same"? Georgina asked. Poppy shook her head in silence, " What no I bloody wouldn't since I'm happily engaged and about to get wed no"! Poppy repiled. 

Yes sure there were times when Georgina had her supernatural moments where she thought she sensed him, around her his voice everything about him just oozes love. And that for Georgina was win-win. She didn't just like him purely for playing the roles she liked him because he was a genuine down earth guy who loved his fans and as she read ' likes to reply back to them' what made her heart sink.  At some point Georgina thought it was going to be her (a girl can dream I guess). 

Poppy had watched THE TUDORS a trillion times and she was getting rather sick of it the consistent talking about him, being an executive producer poppy did not have much time for chst in fact she was out with a cast s film set most of the time, in her early years and worked with James Cameron on Titanic and met Leonardo DiCaprio who played the iconic role as Jack and also met Kate Winslet who played Rose. 

That was then, this is now, this week poppy was back in the uk after going out to America to be with her ' family' as she liked to call them, of course Georgina was the best at supporting her in her job, but her fiance Jack Wyatt was the best and so Georgina left it to him.

Poppy never texted Georgina when she wanted a girly chat with her she just turned up unannounced which Jack consistently rebuffed her for, would she listen … the answer no. 

Jack was great with Georgina in fact he was a Tudors geek himself so occasionally over facetime they'd discuss scenes and what have you, but as per usual Georgina only focus on one performance…… Henry's as The dashing Duke of Suffolk. 

Jack was charming and very handsome if Georgina was honest Jack wasn't her type at all, nerdy wore glasses yeah that kind Poppy loved them nerds and geeks ….. but Georgina had a much more refined taste in men, she was hoping for ' a gentlemen' someone who would come and sweep her off her feet. 

No such luck …. Yet. 

She had read Very fantasy book that she could find that Henry liked, she had recently caught up with THE WITCHER and she fell in love with him as she kinda expected she would. 

Her mother was the nagging type, Helena " when am I going to see you get hitched with a nice boyfriend love"? She would ask on a facetime occasionally, Georgina shook her head and laughed " haha hmm never"! Helena thought it was nothing to laugh about, " you might think this a joke love but trust me it's not! You need to find someone quick"! How those words haunted her ever since.

It was a Sunday and usually Georgina was up and out of the door walking Frodo, but something had changed because she wasn't doing her early morning routine and Frodo the black and White Frenchie was barking and whining to go out ignoring the barking and the whining Georgie tossed herself over and went back to sleep until 9am. .

The next thing she knew Frodo was licking her face to get attention telling her to move it. " Mummy move it, I need a toilet"! Georgie groaned, throwing on a pair of joggers and t-shirt and jumper hair up in a loose bun, she headed out into early morning sunshine, " Frodo! I wish you wouldn't do this to me, it's only 9am in the morning"! She groaned. 

True, her mother was nagging at her to get a boyfriend and start playing catch up with Poppy because she'd be married soon enough to Jack and that she would not do rush into a relationship just on the say-so of your mother. 

Naturally, there other things that Georgina liked to do, living in london afforded her time to explore, she lived nothing more than exploring and finding out new things she was genuinely interested in history particularly Tudor History. 

Georgina was very creative too, in fact she was attempting to write her own first historical romance story involving the tudors and so she started with exploring the well known places that Henry VIII King of England and his six wives one if her favourites of the six wives was Katherine of Aragon the wronged but yet spurned wife Of Henry and mother to their only daughter Lady Mary Tudor (later known as Bloody Mary). It was Georgina who explored the places in which she felt held more evidence of the six wives and another favourite of hers was Queen Jane Seymour who died after giving the King what he most wanted out of all of his wives….. a son. 

Georgina knew that back then, you had kept the male line going by, giving birth to a son so that the throne was safe. 

She was naturally curious about Henry's Character Charles Brandon, His Grace the Duke of Suffolk. 

She did some research into him ….

Okay I've been thinking on this for a couple days and I think I have answers that I am happy with. So, in a completely unscientific order from my notes app, here goes:

gonna go ahead and put this all under a cut bc I have a feeling I'll be long-winded.

Dan: Belle - bookworm, idealist, romantic, a little sheltered, a loving if ditzy father, has a big, stupid bleeding heart for people who are less than Nice. And, if I may add, there's a little bit of Milo Thatch in there, too: book smart, not street smart, thoughtful but eager to please, wants to do something Meaningful with his life but has his worldviews challenged when he steps outside of his comfort zone. (and yes. I am aware of the name coincidence.)

Nate: Prince Eric - sailor, himbo, amateur piner, serial monogamist drinks that Respects Women juice. Nate is absolutely the type to hear a voice/meet a girl one (1) time and be like, "yeah, that's the one." and Oh! fun fact: the actress who plays his republican gf Bree Buckley was Ariel on Once Upon a Time! I'd also say there's some Kristoff in there, too: blonde himbo that also Respects Women, doesn't know what's happening exactly, but will absolutely give you a ride to get there.

Vanessa: Megara - self-possessed, boss-ass bitch, moronsexual + Tiana - self-starter, kind, has no time for your romantic notions because she's got a five year plan and a job to do.

***these are all animated (I think), but I am editing to add that Vanessa also has Lily Moskovitz from The Princess Diaries energy. She'd so have a public access talk show called "Shut Up and Listen."

Blair: Charlotte La Bouff (from Princess and the Frog) - privileged (borderline spoiled), romantic, obsessed with stories & fashion and living out her own fairytale, but has a good heart, and cares for her friends. & Lady - lives a sheltered privileged life and is perfectly content that way until she meets those who shake her worldview (I think this is the only animal one I could come up with? idk y'all it's been a while since I've indulged in the Disney. unless you count the Princess Diaries.)

Eric: Anna - kind, clever, loyal, would go the ends of the earth for the big sister, grows up feeling lonely, Is Baby

Serena: Merida - extroverted, free spirit, a little bit wild, amazing hair, wants to break out of the mold society & her mother have set out for her (bc Lily is so Merida's mom, Elinor)

Jenny: Elsa - platinum blonde, isolates herself/lashes out at people when things go badly, extremely talented with amazing fashion sense, dad whose biggest life lesson is "conceal don't feel," lesbian.

and, because I said this in tags earlier today: Georgina is Yzma: here for no other reason than to look fabulous and cause problems on purpose. Her trophy husband Philip is Kronk - homemaker, henchman but is terrible at it, just wants to make spinach puffs and take care of the baby.
