22. Pro or anti e-readers? Why?

Pro! I’m a fan of anything that increases access to books/info/stories. (But I’m not a fan of DRM and other bullshit that comes up with corporations owning everything that enables access, so it’s a little complicated, fuck kindle)

Personally, being able to get ebooks digitally during pandemic/lockdown times has been so so important to me. I prefer the feeling of paper books, and screens can trigger my migraines so I try to avoid overuse, but I really love being able to jump right into whatever ARC I’m reading on my phone when I’m out and waiting in line or something.

43. Are you the kind of person who reads several books at once or the kind of person who can only read one book at a time?

I read SO MANY at a time, but usually one main fiction book, and often I’ll get to the point where that’s the only thing I can focus on.

Currently in my rotation:

- Cloud Atlas (reading so I can watch the movie as part of our Wachowskis watch through)

- Summer by Ali Smith (I’ve been reading the Seasonal Quartet along with the seasons)

- One new release for every month of the year

- Book Riot’s Read Harder challenge

- Theoretically, a book off my to-read shelf at home, one for each letter of the alphabet, by author’s last name

- Non-fiction on various topics I love

- Books by Indigenous authors/art books for work

Let me just say something specifically to the anon who is living in my asks sending me hate right now.

I can defend myself. I will defend myself. My best friend who posted that did so of her own volition. I chose to delete your comments and not give you the time of day because I mean, who really just sits around belittling strangers 😂

You don’t like me? You think I’m weird? You think I’m a bad mom? You think I can’t make friends?

That’s fine.

I never asked for your opinion and quite frankly, I don’t give a fuck about it. I don’t give a fuck about what you think of me, or say about me, or send me.

I am weird. Weird as fuck actually.

I haven’t been the perfect mom off the cover of “Family” magazine, but I’m not a bad mother. My children are very well taken care of. We go out to parks and beaches and zoos and amusement parks and we see dinosaur movies in theaters and look for toads before bed. I order sushi and we lay in bed eating it watching whatever wildlife video they want to watch. I snuggle with them when they wake up every morning. I sit with them and rub circles on their cheek until they go to sleep because they’ve been falling asleep like that since they were born. When they do something unfavorable, I don’t yell at them. I sit them down and talk to them like actual human beings. When they have tantrums, I console them and explore their too-big feelings with them.

Mom-shaming seems to be your favorite hobby but did you ever stop to think that maybe you don’t see the whole picture? Whoever the hell you are, you’ve seen one slip up and based your entire opinion of me off of that. I do everything for my kids. In fact, I work so much to give them everything that I sacrifice time with my partner to the point where I see him less than 8 hours a week and I live with him. Yet, I’m still here from 5:30am until 3:30pm taking care of my kids just to go to work from 4pm until midnight hoping to find some kind of sleep so I can wake up and do it all over again seven days a week.

You think it’s weird that people have fan accounts? Why the hell are you here? Why are you so deeply immersed in this hellsite that literally exists to breed fan content?

Get over yourself and whatever fucking complex you have that makes you feel like you’re better than me.

If you have a Tumblr and you're on it a lot like I am, I really highly suggest joining the same fandom on reddit. I have 10 reasons.

1. They're 2 sides of the same horrific political echo chamber. While Tumblr and twitter are screaming and crying about the producer possibly using a homophobic slur in 1956, reddit is screaming and crying because a minor side character is bi and they simply cannot relate anymore :(. Both platforms firmly believe that ALL movies, tv, books, magazines, comics, blogs, posts, tweets, and news providers should be sanitized until they churn out pure propaganda; they just disagree on what the propaganda should promote. (They also both pretend it's only propaganda if they don't agree with it.)

2. You might forget cishet people exist. To remind yourself, so that it's not jarring when you rejoin the real world, you can find all the cishet people in America on reddit. They have straight ships. They do not see the subtext. They think you're nuts for saying Sherlock Holmes and John Watson are together. I promise you that you need this slap in the face occasionally.

3. Reddit lets you show tiddie.

4. Tumblr praises and criticizes media based on how progressive it is. Reddit praises and criticizes media for like, everything else under the sun. If one platform HATES your favorite show, the other one probably loves it.

5. With really divisive tv shows like always sunny, you'll get to see 2 totally different plot breakdowns. It's like watching the show twice. Once "Tumblr style", with lots of ships, subtext, longing, pining, fanfiction, fan art, and slowed-down 3 second gifs that make every scene look romantic and sexy. Tumblr style fandom is intense, emotional, and deeply connected to the underdog characters. Then you can watch it again "reddit style", with pages of analysis on writing styles, acting styles, line delivery, and the items in the background, but no mention of The Way Those Two Looked At Each Other™.

6. When your normie work friends ask you what you thought of something, you can give them the normie answer. (Hint: there are 0 normie opinions on Tumblr. They're all bonkers in funking yonkers, I promise. If they seem normal to you please talk to a well-adjusted adult who supports themselves in the real world)

7. It is SO FUN to dump all of tumblr's hcs on your "reddit friends". I dare you to find a friend who uses reddit and then tell them about the absurd amount of gay porn for star trek. Tell them there's gay subtext in every episode of Merlin. Show them jack and ianto making out shirtless in the lab if they're a doctor who reddit friend. Remind them that Dennis had a m/m/m threesome in the pilot episode. Point out the 45x johnlock's close friends assumed they were together. Rant about whatever tf happened in supernatural with the gay angel. Every time one of my reddit friends (republicans if I'm not being clear enough here) recommends a show to me I immediately tell them how gay and GNC his faves are. This is a very fun game that will alienate everyone that you really don't want as a friend anyway.

8. Reddit also has a horrible UI and the messiest code I've ever seen, a poorly-functioning mobile app that crashes constantly, and community guidelines that are fuzzy at best. Anyone from Tumblr should be perfectly comfy there.

9. Entire fandoms dry up on Tumblr after someone involved does something unprogressive. You'll find the remaining fans on reddit because reddit doesn't give a fuck about progressivism.

10. And lastly... Because a LOT of bloggers on this hellsite need to learn that the culture here isn't the culture of the world. It's NOT pedophilic to like a post written by someone younger than you, and it's NOT sketchy not to have all your personal information in your bio. No one cares about your carrd/pinned/DNI, no one is going to read a terms and conditions document to find out if they're allowed to follow you. The rest of the world doesn't hold insane beliefs like "all harry potter fans are fascists". No one is going to tw food, alcohol, swearing, smoking, or thin bodies. And before you go "I know it's not like this irl but -", You're wrong, you DO think the real world is like this and I see it all the time. I see y'all out here being Karens about the nonsensical expectations that you developed here. I see you harassing actors for stuff their characters did! Do not do that! The cure for Tumblr psychosis is to get OUT of the feedback loop and read another opinion once in awhile.

Being late to the party and joining a new fandom after the series has (mostly) finished and the fandom is in chaos with mixed opinions on the ending and you still don’t fully know how to feel plus there’s a divide in the fandom with hate for certain characters/pairings and you’re just like

I’m gonna go on a rant under the cut and pretend this is a journal that I can throw into the void because I can’t keep all this in as I browse the fandom depths of Tumblr.

I really do take the Spnfamily for granted sometimes and that time is now. We really do feel like a family. At times I feel like we’re a big fandom but once you go outside that bubble, we’ve very small compared to other fandoms. I guess the bigger the fandom, the most hate and drama there will be.

ANYWAY I got back into Marvel 3 months ago, finished my binge, began reading fanfiction, soon after that I was invested. Then a month ago I started a Marvel blog, started following blogs, making and posting edits/gifs, browsing the tags etc. And oh my god, I forgot how chaotic some fandoms can be.

In the past weeks I’ve seen character hate, ship hate, cast hate, hate for others who like a certain movie, an ending, a characters personality, traits, decisions, etc. Its exhausting, how do people do it? Maybe I’m just not that kind of person. I don’t have the energy for it, I just ignore the negative and read fanfiction oOP

I also think I’m starting to become invested in Stucky like when I started with Destiel 5/6 years ago and that’s saying a lot, destiel is my eVERYTHING.

I wasn’t interested in Marvel last year when EG was coming up bc I was too lazy to watch 20+ movies to catch up, so all my exposure to it was Reddit since I go there for news/vidya games. So for the most part, I assumed it was a positive reception and an very emotional heavy movie. (and it is emOTIONAL) But man, the difference of options on it between platforms.

But I feel like I’m the 1% in the stevexbucky side who is at least, neutral on Endgame. I think 15 seasons of Supernatural has ruined me for endings and character deaths that my expectations are always low. There’s like, a divide between the fandom and it highkey makes me nervous for Supernatural’s ending.

I watched it, was an emotional mess and for the most part I liked it. I still think Infinity War was a better movie but Endgame got more hype. My top 3 MCU movies is still IM3, CATWS and Ragnarok.

The biggest divide about it that I’ve seen on this hellsite is Steve’s ending. Quite honestly, I’m not reeealy a fan either. (Although I am VERY excited for Sam and Bucky to get their own show) I’ve thought about it, took my shipper goggles off, looked at it through different perspectives and I get it on one hand but on the other ehhhh. I still think, the dynamic between the two characters, Steve and Bucky, was lacking in both movies. The negative part of having a movie with dozens of characters in it is the lack of screentime for a lot of characters.

But then, clearly my dislike for it is rookie numbers because man some people like to passionately hate others for not doing the same. Yep, saw posts described exactly like that. And now I’m reminded why people hate Tumblr so much!

Honestly at the end of the day, everyone will have a different perspectives on fictional media and the best thing everyone should do is not hate others for having an opposing opinion. Recognize your differences and respect it. Also fanfiction is A GODSEND.

WOW that got very long. Hi if you’re reading this! This makes me nervous for what’s to come with the Supernatural ending and that hasn’t really occurred to me yet since I’m still on the emotional ‘I can’t believe its ending’ phase.

1. What’s your go-to writing snack?

- Fantastic question. Desperation and caffeine. But seriously, I can’t eat and write cause then I’ll close my document and turn on Netflix for a cute “break.”

2. What do you do when you get writer’s block?

- I minimize the word doc and work on something else. Playing video games helps a lot but then I’ll black out for twelve hours, then it’s 4 am and I have to sleep.

3. Describe your OCs as colors.

7. If you had to give up one thing from your writing routine, what could you part with?

Oh Jesus. I guess the... desire to get validation? If I could get rid of that, maybe I would be farther in my writing and be able to talk about it on this hellsite.

8. Your characters are in a fight. Do pop popcorn or mediate?

Both. If they could do the work for me and I can take notes, that’d be great. Less time trying to figure out which fight styles would work best with their personalities.

9. Which WIP are you currently most excited about?

ASOC, obvi. I’ve never done full out fantasy before so designing a whole religion, governments, ocs, it’s all so exciting.

10. Chose a character to hang out with for a day? Does it go well?

- I’ll hang with Vesuvia. She’s unpredictable. Maybe we’ll raid a temple in search of a metal that was thought to be gone for centuries??? Maybe.

11. If when your WIP is published who will fans write fanfic about? Would their ships match canon ones?

I feel like... Vesuvia/Ezio, Alessa/Ecaeris, Ecaeris/Ezio, and Vesuvia/Ecaeris will get the most fics written about them. While Atticus/Illius will be that sweet spot couple filled with fluff. And the rare pair, but not is Ecaeris/Illius. And if they’ll match canon... Kinda????? They all get their moments.

My Unpopular Opinions of 2018

This is messy, a bit mean, and full of my mad/irritated feelings. You’ve been warned. No slipping into my asks as an anon to fight with me because I’ve posted this on my account. These are my opinions and I’ve already said that they aren’t that nice to some shows

1) Charmed and Black Lightning are the only good CW shows and it has the best lesbian rep of 2018 (and Rosa from b99 would be the best bisexual rep)

2) Melanie Scrofano/Wynonna Earp is the best part of Wynonna Earp. Honestly lately the rest of the characters for me have either awful or boring or funny but given nothing to do

3) Also even though she’s the main actress, Melanie is somehow the most underrated actress/character in the show. She’s disregarded by so many fans, either in favor of Wayhaught or Doc, and the show treats her like shit by constantly putting her with Doc

4) Descendants fans who pit Dove Cameron and China Anne McClain against each other in the hopes of making the other seem superior are doing absolutely nothing for their careers and are contributing to the unnecessary comparison between successful women

5) Also I don’t care if you don’t like Dove Cameron, but hating her for that Mal/Harry comment she made months ago is so fucking ridiculous. She’s a girl in love who also loves her character, god forbid she make her own headcanons for it, and it wasn’t like she was asking for it to happen (and no she wasn’t disregarding Mal’s current relationship Ben because she was talking about Mal and Harry being exes god damnit)

6) I can’t believe i have to say this in 2018 BUT STOP WITH THE INCEST STORYLINES! IT AIN’T CREATIVE OR SURPRISING BITCHES JUST GROSS

7) ALSO STOP SHIPPING INCEST GOD PLEASE STOP

8) Timothee Chamalet or whatever his name is, isn’t that great. Like he’s fine I guess but like....Have you seen other actors? I mean, there’s Fady Elsayed, Jack Black, Jordan Renzo, Greg Austin (rip Class), and so many more actors that are, in my opinon, significantly more talented

9) Letterkenny and Galavant are the best comedies out there

10) Riverdale is shit for erasing Jughead’s asexuality and queerbaiting fans at the beginning with Beronica

11) I’ve said this before, but people disliking Cole Sprouse because of the abuse allegation against him is incredibly valid.

12) Mike Flanagan, Jordan Peele, and Kate Siegel are the only people I trust to write some bone chilling horror stories

13) The Haunting of Hill House is better than American Horror Story and The Chilling Adventures of Sabrine combined

Now it’s time to get serious.....

14) I have no respect and cannot get along with people who talk about how ugly people are

15) The hellsite is shit for so many reasons but some of its worst qualities are when people take a situation and make it black and white, have zero sympathy or empathy for other people, and twist peoples words and put in meanings that were never there

16) I also hate how how people only care about mental illness when it doesn’t come to their jokes or memes. For example, mental health has been talked about a lot in regards to Ariana Grande, which is good, but once her engagement with Pete Davidson ended, no one hesitated to attack him in almost every way possible even though the man has been very outspoken about his depression. I don’t know shit about Pete Davidson but I’ve seen him relentlessly be attacked and have his depression and suicidal thoughts be joked about.

17) Stanning is a fucked up culture that we need to leave behind in 2018. There are some celebrities who have a lot of projects that I love and I admire their talent, but the concept of stanning either includes an unhealthy amount of devotion to a celebrity or it erases them as a human being and reduces them down to objects. In some cases, both of these are true. It’s a sick thing for both fans and the celebrities. If a celebrity does something wrong, call them out, and if they don’t listen, well forget it or move on. Cancelling them as if they can be thrown in the garbage and disposed of promotes negativity and hatred, which is doesn’t solve anything, and it can inhibit any growth from that celebrity. They are human and will inevitably fuck up. It’s the only way to learn and grow.

18) This is about Wynonna Earp but it’s a serious post. I’ve made my thoughts about this show abundantly clear but there is one thing I haven’t talked about at all and that’s the racism in the show and in the fanbase. Disclaimer: I am white. This show hasn’t treated any of their poc or black characters well. The latest example would be the treatment of Dolls and Kate. The last two seasons Doc has had two women of color as his love interests, and both of these characters have been treated as objects to make Wynonna jealous. There is also the lack of story and villainization of these women. There is also the major lack of story with Dolls, which most likely led to Shamier Anderson’s decision to leave. I won’t get into anymore, this is how I’ve always viewed these poor storylines, but I will say this: white fans of Wynonna Earp, we do not get a say on how black viewers should feel about any of these storylines. White lesbians, you would be livid is Waverly or Nicole were killed, and rightfully so. Black people or people of color probably felt the rage you would’ve felt if you lost one of those characters when Dolls was killed off. Telling people to get over it is cruel. If people want to stop watching, that is their right. We have no place in telling them how they should feel about the treatment of their representation.

20) Everyone needs a break from social media. I know that for some people, it really helps because we have friends on here that we can talk to, but it also has so many negative effects. The real world is nothing like this toxic website. You should take breaks from it every once in a while. You need to get hobbies. You need some other past time than this website. The majority of people on this site aren’t good and everyone should take a breather from it. I take breaks from this site on a regular basis and when I do it feels so fucking good.

21) Random but The Lodgers is the worst movie ever and it’s an even worse horror movie. Would not recommend. Unless you feel like roasting something for an hour and a half. The only good part about watching that movie was that I watched it with my roommate who I am good friends with and we laughed our asses off and made fun of it so much. It is truly awful. Even though I had a blast roasting it, I will never get that time of my life back.

22) The Last Jedi does not deserve that 91% on rotten tomatoes. Just like how The Lodgers deserves far less than 56%.

23) Time to get serious again. I get that a lot of us wished that the shows we loved were real, but they aren’t. That’s a fact that everyone needs to realize and accept. To me, hating an actor for their character’s actions is just as fucked up as stanning. They aren’t their character. They are not responsible for the shit their characters pull. They are carrying out the story written for them. As for writers, sometimes the writers do not support their characters actions either. Just because the character is evil or mean or whatever does not always mean that the people who work behind the curtain support that.

24) Shipping real people and harassing them is sooo inappropriate and messed up. I shouldn’t really have to explain this one but too many people on this site don’t seem to grasp it. I mean, didn’t Harry Styles say a while ago that all the smutty fanfics, tweets, and fanarts about him and his bandmates effect his friendships with him? Him reacting that way is not homophobic, btw. It is him reacting naturally to people fetishizing and sexualizing him and his friends. These are real people. Their relationship, sexuality, and god just so much of their lives is none of our business. They don’t owe us any information about their personal lives. We don’t own them. They are their own people, which also means that they make their own mistakes.

25) Random again, but original Charmed fans put their show too high of a pedestal. I never got really into show. I tried it, think I watched half of the first season, and I did a little research on it and I was in the fanbase for a hot sec but it was very short. From my research, it seems to me, that for a feminist show, the cast (except Shannon Doherty) was the opposite behind the scenes. I know you can’t help who you don’t like but you can control how you talk about someone, especially to the public, and from what I’ve seen there’s been more negative comments from them about their castmates than positive. I don’t think anyone will know the whole story but to me the feud between the og’s leading ladies has always very catty to me, and it’s gotten even worse with the remake. You can be protective of your show without being rude. You don’t have to support the remake, and you can do that without being rude either. By the way, this is more directed towards Holly Marie Combs, who I believe has been the most outspoken about being against it. Three young actresses are doing the job they love and they were given a chance to be the new charmed ones for a new generation. There is no reason to be so negative about it. It looks even more immature when you see the cast of the original Sabrina who gleefully gave their support to the new cast.

26) Adults please stop thinking every show is for you. it’s not. Some shows are for kids, some shows are for teenagers, and some shows are for you. If you enjoy the show that’s directed towards a younger audience then that’s great. If you don’t enjoy it, then that’s fine too. What is not fine is you acting like that show was meant for you and tearing it apart and bullying people of that directed age group online. I can’t believe the amount of times I’ve seen some 19-40 year old dipshit on the internet go and bully a 15 year old only because they said they loved a show. That is not only sick and immature but it’s uncalled for.

27) Also 15 year olds or younger, do not use your age as an excuse to be mean either. You might be young and you will definitely make huge mistakes, but there’s is nothing to justify you telling someone to kill themselves or insulting them just because they don’t like your favorite character or something. You might not be as experienced as some adults, but you’re old enough to know what the fuck you’re doing and how wrong it is. Don’t be cruel and blame it on you being young and stupid. You maybe young and all of us will always be a bit stupid, but that does not excuse your behavior. And @ older people who do that shit too, your older age and power does not excuse your cruelty either. Nothing excuses telling someone to kill themselves. Ever. Especially if it’s over a goddamn tv show.

36) Class’s first season was significantly better than Torchwoods first season. You guys are just mean.

37) While I adore Class, Patrick Ness’s dialogue was really YIKES sometimes (the Charlie April deleted scene nearly killed me). Overall it was good though because it was the closest depiction of how teens speak.

38) Also any teen drama show that has a teen speak seriously in a hashtag should burn in hell (if a hashtag is used in dialogue as joke then it’s fine because it’s funny)

39) An actor being on a show you don’t like does not warrant hate

40) It’s been two years since Class but still, fuck the dw fans who were/are so mean to the class actors, especially Vivian Oparah and Sophie Hopkins.

Favourite avengers movies scenes?

So I’m not sure if you mean The Avengers movies proper, or MCU movies in general... so I’ll answer both. ;)

Fav Avengers scenes (in no particular order):

1) Natasha’s first scene in the first Avengers movie. I know everybody on this hellsite hates her now but like... that scene is just brilliant! It shows just how easily Natasha can play people around her, and she’s not afraid to put herself at genuine risk in order to manipulate people. It’s why she’s the master manipulator. She will let herself get captured and beaten up in order to get what she wants from her target just as easily as she’ll let herself don a fancy dress in order to get what she wants from her target.

2) The science bro “saved [my life] for what exactly” “I guess we’ll find out” scene in the first Avengers movie. It’s such a good scene, and really showcases why I love this dynamic so much. Tony acknowledges that Bruce finds himself trapped... there’s something inside of him that he just can’t control. And Tony doesn’t dismiss it. One might almost expect him to be dismissive of Bruce since he earlier so flagrantly pointed out how much he liked Hulk. In the Banner vs Hulk argument going on inside Bruce, he’d already allied himself with Hulk.Except in this moment, he also allied himself 100% with Banner. He tells Bruce that Hulk is only a “monster”, because he just hasn’t learned how to 100% control it... and points out that it’s Bruce’s life that was important enough to save and protect. I just love it.

3) Tony: “Please be a secret door please be a secret doorWall: *is a secret door*Tony: “Yay!”

4) Thor showing up in Wakanda in Infinity War. I cheered. I screamed. I celebrated. It was amazing

5) Gamora’s death and Peter Parker’s death (yes I know I’m cheating and doing a two-in-one here). I was never really a huge fan of Gamora... although she and Nebula are the only GOTG characters I even came close to really liking. But she was written so perfectly in Infinity War, I genuinely loved her death scene and it’s one of my favorites.And... I don’t think I need to tell y’all why I love this one, do I?

6) Steve’s... Wanda-vision I guess? Which honestly? I think it was the moment that I am going to believe started him in such a negative downward spiral that he became... not a character I could like.He comes face to face with the world he knew, with the woman he loved and lost, with the reality that... who he was and what he used to dream about could never happen. I think that scene is why he couldn’t really bring himself to sign the accords. When Tony appealed to his nostalgia he almost gave in, but I think he was just looking for an excuse not to.Because for him... the Avengers was the only compensation he had for losing everything. And he was afraid that if they were operating under the jurisdiction of someone or something else, it would not be what he needed it to be anymore.

Fav MCU-in-general/non-Avengers scenes (also in no particular order):

1) Tony Stark building the Iron Man suit in a cave!!! With a box of scraps!!! What’s not to love about these scenes? RDJ looking hot af with his bulging muscles, the cinematography being absolutely GORGEOUS, the music being perfect, the tension being palpable, and the joy and exuberance when he’s finished exhilarating. (Bonus points for how devastatingly sad their escape ended up being... rip Yinsen)

2) Pepperony dancing in Iron Man 1. MY GOD the sexual tension! There is a reason this ship is such an OTP it practically transcends even the word shipping! These two are perfect in literally every way and I will fight you on that.

3) Tony Stark building a new element in Iron Man 2. It’s like version 2.0 of him building the Mk 1: Bulging muscles? Check! Amazing cinematography? Check! Music? Spot on perfect. Tension? Well... slightly less palpable, but they’ve literally been buillding up that Tony’s dying this whole movie and he finally actually has a chance to save his own life! Exuberance upon completion? Check!The only annoying thing is when Coulson interrupts the montage to be intolerable...

4) Peggy Carter, Steve Rogers, and Howard Stark “do you... fondue” scene. My GOD it was amazing. My son Steve Rogers when he was still my second favorite character in the entire MCU being amazing and awkward, Howard being oblivious to how much he’s just exuding pure flirtatiousness here (haha that’s a lie, he knows exactly what he’s doing to poor Steve), and Peggy WTFing at her idiot guys. I love it.

5) Steggy’s first and last kiss. It’s fine. I’m fine. I don’t need happiness or anything. It’s not like they were perfect together and going to the future ended up just ruining Steve’s personality. It’s not like they deserved to be happy together. (Bonus points to their final conversation. THEY DESERVED THAT DANCE DAMMIT!!! I will never forgive the Russo’s for not making the scene where Steve visits old!Peggy longer and have it end with him gently picking her up in his arms and sway-dancing with her. THEY DESERVED IT!!! WE DESERVED IT!!!)

6) The entirety of Iron Man 3. I’m sorry but I cannot pick out one single scene from that movie that’s my favorite. That movie is massively underrated, simply because comic nerds were annoyed that it wasn’t predictable like literally every other movie has been (and were annoyed by the narrative basically telling them to stop being racist little fucks).Bonus: the Iron Man 3 post credits scene. For some reason people have sorta been hating on Bruce for that scene lately. I genuinely don’t get why! Like... that scene wasn’t about Bruce not caring about Tony! That scene was about how Bruce cares about and is so comfortable around Tony that he can relax around him. He can fall asleep around him. And Tony? Tony didn’t actually care. If he did he wouldn’t have immediately started another story about his “original trauma” immediately after their little snark fest.

7) Scott being toddler-sized in Ant-Man and the Wasp. That was just pure hilarity through and through. I loved every second of it.

8) JANET VAN DYNE!!! I’m sorry, but Jan is my literal favorite. Tony is (obviously) my favorite MCU character, but if I’m being perfectly honest with myself he’s probably my second favorite Marvel character... second only to Jan. She is amazing and badass and perfect and the fact that MICHELLE ACTUAL-GODDESS PFIEFFER PLAYS HER somehow makes her even better. Can the third movie in the Bug Trilogy be all about her? I just need more Jan. I don’t care if it’s a movie about Jan and Hank, or a movie about Jan and Scott, or a movie about Jan and Hope. I just want as much Jan as physically possible. I know that that isn’t a scene that’s a character but... I’M SORRY IF A SCENE HAS JAN IN IT IT’S AUTOMATICALLY ONE OF THE TOP BEST SCENES IN ANY MOVIE EVER I’M SORRY I DON’T MAKE THE RULES.

9) Basically any scene with Okoye. Honestly, Danai Gurira surprised the FUCK outta me with her talent. All I knew was that she was in The Walking Dead (which I’ve admittedly not scene) and so dismissed her as probably not being super talented because... well have you heard the reputation that show has gotten?Anyway... her performance continually impresses me, and she’s absolutely amazing! But my favorite scene specifically was the scene... I think it was between Nakia and Okoye (I’ve only watched that movie once... I KNOW I’M AWFUL) after T’Challa dies and Okoye basically says she can’t go against Erik because she is loyal to the THRONE of Wakanda, even if her heart is loyal to other people.

And I was GOING to do top 5 Avengers moments and top 10 non Avengers moments, but since I did 6 Avengers moments (plus a cheat), I’ll stop at 9 for non-Avengers moments.

I was tagged by @theoracleofllaena to answer 11 questions here so let’s just skip the formalities and hop right to it, shall we?

1. What was your favorite era of animation? (eg. “golden age” or decades like 1980′s, etc)

I’d have to say any animation by Don Bluth b/c his style of animation very beautiful to me. I think his works range from the 80s to 90s to even 2000s with Titan A.E.

2. Is college/university a waste of money in your experience?

Yes, the costs are outrageous in several areas from classes to textbooks to dorms, hell even cafeteria food. I mean sure there’s scholarships,finanicial aid, loans, grants and such but come on. You have so many still paying off loans and are not able to secure their dream jobs yet b/c of the economy and times have massively changed. But college degrees are required on a lot of jobs out there so you got to do what you got to do.

3. What is your favorite “black sheep” video game, as in the worst-reviewed or least-popular game in a series?

I would have to say Tomb Raider Chronicles, I usually see that one end up really low on top games and ranked next to worst of all the Tomb Raider games. Most complaints were that if felt stale using the same engine and “been there done that” plots and gameplay but this was actually my first Tomb Raider game I ever played so it was all new to me then. I had fun with it and it still holds a special place in my heart b/c it got me into the series.

4. Add-on to previous question: Do you feel like long-term or “established” fans are too harmful to newcomers to a given franchise?(game/movie/book/whatever)

Some can sour the experience and be annoying as hell but not all long-term or “established” fans are bad just like not all “newer” fans are bad either. You’re gonna have your good and bad apples in any groups you come across. I say keep it small in fandoms, find your people you gel with and have fun.

5. What is the weirdest food you ate that you actually enjoyed?

Nacho cheese Doritos in a chive and onion cream cheese bagel sandwich. Brush your teeth after this fine snack so you don’t gross anyone out.

6. What is one dream you have had that you wish could come true? Alternate for people who can’t remember their dreams, how about a fantasy or day-dream?

Daydream wise I would say just that everyone is healthy,financially secure,no more diseases,killing, racism,homophobia,nazis and pedos. That would be a great thing to happen. We’d all be happy, that may seem boring to some but hey I’ll take it.

7. You are now given exactly one “save point” in real life, and you can reload your save as many times as you want, but the one save point stands. Where/when would you use it, if at all? (retroactive answers, such as placing the save point somewhere in your past, are acceptable)

I would use it in the summer of 1996 just so I could keep reloading the cool times I had with friends, plus reliving the games, movies,music,fashion,the fads, etc....

8. In fantasy/”historical” war media (comics, games, whatever), do you prefer they use real-life countries (eg. Age of Empires, Kingdom Come: Deliverance, etc) or fictional countries (eg. Calradia in the Mount & Blade series, Temeria/Nilfgaard in The Witcher, etc)?

I really don’t have a preference on that tbh. Just as long the plot/gameplay is fun.

9. If you had infinite budget and nobody would make fun of you, 100% guaranteed, what is the most ridiculous outfit you would wear for Halloween?

Taco Belle! Oh they could make fun of me all they want, my love for tacos kicks embarrassment’s ass any day!

10. What is your biggest guilty-pleasure in real life? (eg. slowing down in front of tailgaters, acting dumb to frustrate rude customers, etc)

Watching A Nightmare on Elm Street 4: The Dream Master b/c anyone else I know doesn’t care for that one in the Freddy series but it’s my favorite one to watch out of the whole series (despite the fact that it has the one insect I can’t deal with and that is roaches, go figure huh?)

11. Why are you still on this shitty blue hellsite?

Ah there’s the most important question of them all! Mutuals/friends do play a huge factor in my staying here b/c I have come across some really nice and awesome people on here that I enjoy conversing with. I also like some of the content, fan art, and edits ppl post on here in my favorite fandoms. Also my blog is more like a scrapbook of all the shit I like so whenever I get stressed or need a break, I like to go thru my archives to see the stuff I’ve reblogged whether it be recently or back when I first joined. It’s also neat to see how your tastes and views can change over time as well with looking back and forward.

This hellsite does have SOME good things about it in the sea of negativity, you just gotta look hard sometimes and the ppl you befriend along the way make it easier.

To those who’s people are routinely NOT treated in this way. Infantilizing dangerous white men at any level of media sets a tone. To see that kind of behavior follow into fiction and NOBODY have a problem with it is beyond bizarre to me. I’ve had friends locked up for far less who never got treated like the children they were, so forgive me if I’m a little sensitive to the subject. “People who sympathisize with these types of people are either going through some sort of fucked up, I’m edgy 100%, phase that they’ll grow out of or have some serious mental instabilities. If you want an Alt universe Kylo (like Emo Kylo Ren) it’s whatever. That's a separate idea. “He was Kylo BEFORE KYLO EXISTED–he’s WORSE than Kylo–so where’s all the hate there?“ I disagree. Vader was a tool for the Emperor. Kylo IS the Emperor now. Did you actually read it? “really made me want to pluck my eyes out. Holy hell my dude, why did you use this as a reference when it’s so clearly just—bad?? I think I lost five years of my life.“ Because it’s another example of Kylo being compared to the evil that is a school shooter. Again, it’s not the only time, and it’s not the only horrible evil he’s compared to. OP was insensitive about it though, given recent events. “And I want to make this clear–I don’t give a single FUCK if you don’t like Kylo Ren. That your opinion.“ I like his character a lot actually. I think he makes an excellent, compelling villain based on Adam Driver’s work. My issue is people attempting to pretend he isn’t one, or that his past trauma absolves him of ANYTHING he’s chosen to do, or that anyone owes him anything at this point, or pretending that this 30 year old man’s childishness can be justified at all. My bigger concern is that sort of thing happens in the real world for folks just like Kylo and that the two often sound exactly the same. “ I CARE when you bring real people into stupid fictional shit and say “You’re the reason why this is happening. It’s YOUR fault things are this way” I don’t think that was OP’s point at all. Least as far as he’s said. “ESPECIALLY when fiction is used right after a real tragedy like this. “ THAT I can agree with. Dude was insensitive. “ It’s disgusting to be compared on ANY level with someone who might do something like this–and again–it isn’t true. “ No one compared you guys to the shooter. How you TALK about the villain was compared. “ Read up on mental illness, debate gun control, read up on what actually causes school shooters to occur, look up psychological studies of BOTH sides, not just what Buzzfeed says–they aren’t accredited to make those calls in any way.“ The article I listed didn’t list the causes of school shooting at all. If I enjoy and am passionate about the work and it pays enough to sustain me, that's all I really care about anymore. I'm a marketing major though and I'm currently in a class for Visual Merchandising that I absolutely love, though, and I'd be more than happy with a career related to that down the line. I do have an original story I want to possibly write as a graphic novel down the line in my free time when I have a stable career, too. Favourite food: Pizza lmao Last book I read: I reread the first volume of Uzumaki about a week ago, I think? It's still so good but also so many panels are so funny out of context. I really need to do a good Junji Ito binge again sometime soon. 3 favourite fandoms: The only fandom I reeeeaaaally consider myself to be a part of in the sense that I both create content and actively seek out other fans anymore is YuGiOh, tbh. While I don't interact with them much, the English SB69 fandom seems really pleasant, though! And it's not like, a traditional online fandom as much as one isolated section but from what I've seen of it from hanging out with friends in it at cons, the Chicago iDOLM@STER P Community is pretty cool, too.

Day 2: The Blues

The day started like any other regular Friday. Meetings. Stuff to handle. Emails.

I made a trip to Hobby Lobby and picked up some paint for the library build.

I decided to paint most of the bookcases in the kit a wonderful, deep blue. Great news, if you decided to paint this kit, the pieces are made of a wood blend and hold the paint well.

One lesson learned. Don’t over paint. Allow time for the pieces to fully dry. I figured this out the hard way when I noticed some of the longer pieces had a slight warp after I finished. Granted, I may have done 4 or 5 coats.

Not because it really need it.

I just enjoyed painting them so much I didn’t want to stop.

Today isn’t going to be a long post. My brain is on reserve power right now. One can blame it on the long week after getting back to normal after the holidays.

Another can state, said long weekend compounded by being ravaged with my woman’s curse.

All of these are true, but also true is I am still floating on a cloud.

Someday, I may get into my thoughts on social media in general. They are wide and varied, and if you know me well enough you already know about them.

TLDR-I’m not a fan. I mainly use it to lurk. I am an excellent lurker. There should be awards.

Anyway, because of my excellent lurking skills, I’ve been reading Jenny Lawson before Twitter was a thing.

Yes, generally social media is full of lots of screaming and clanking and obnoxious noise. But this, THIS is one of the awe inspiring things it does right.

You can actually interact with your heroes. Actually send a message that might actually reach their eye balls.

I grew up where the thought of actually getting any response from anyone I admired like Elizabeth Peters or Nora Roberts, was ridiculous. But not in today’s world and that is due to social media.

Jenny made my day by just a simple click and I got a brief moment to let her know how much her work has meant over the years.

Un-fucking-belivable. In last couple of years, as I’ve dared to actually use the @ and write a note to them. Many have been increabliy kind and have interacted with me.

This small bit of humanity gives me hope and brings me back to the hellsites. Because while I don’t know these writers personally, just the possibility of exchanging words leaves me in a happy daze.

Thanks again, Jenny. I promise I’ll stop gushing after this.

I know you're supposedly a fan of Stan's but you post so much shit about him, I love it! This hellsite fawns over the bug-eyed nobody. It's rare to see someone who will say he can't act and his movies are shit. Your honesty takes guts. Unlike most of his "fans" you'll admit you only like him in TWS. The only reason he got so many fans from that is because he was hardly in it, lol. 1/2

2/2 He's so embarrassing on social media and interacting with fans but everyone acts like he's so wonderful. That's why I love your salty posts that say "he's trying" and failing. You won't admit it, and probably won't post this, but I can tell you've lost interest in him and are starting to see how lame he is. I'm positive that soon you'll drop him completely. Good. It's ok not to follow the herd. Hopefully you'll continue to shitpost about him so your followers will realize what a loser he is.

You know, adding “you probably won’t post this” to a message immediately tells me that you know you’re speaking bullshit and just wanna get some momentary validation by winding me up, but lucky for you talking about how much I love Sebastian Stan is one of my favourite pass times so I’m gonna humour you.

1) I post a lot of shit about him because he’s a funny human being and there’s a lot of things to poke fun at but the ratio of “shit talking posts” to “talking about how much I care about him post” is probably somewhere around 1:10. If you wanna praise people for talking actual shit about him maybe go over to those blogs that will call him fame hungry any time he posts on sm, accuse him of cheating any time he looks at a woman, or say he’s homophobic if he ever mentions a gay relationship ;)

3) It definitely is rare to find someone saying he can’t act lmao I’ve seen maybe 1 person in my entire life saying that and it certainly wasn’t me. Kinda weird how you’ve interpreted me not enjoying something he’s in to me saying he can’t act, especially considering one of the main reasons I was disappointed is because he wasn’t in it enough. As for finding people who say his movies are shit.. literally everybody says that lmao have you seen that boy’s filmography I mean come on where have you been.

4) It’s weird that you’d think supporting his fans is embarrassing but okay.

5) My followers already know he’s a loser that’s literally why we all love him so much.

6) This isn’t in relation to a specific thing you said but it’s honestly so weird how you think that in order to be a fan of an actor you have to love and praise every single thing they’re in?
