The next thing Mizuki knew she was lying in one of the beds on the ward, blinking in an attempt to focus her vision. 

“You have a fever.” a stern voice came from beside her, and she rolled her head slightly to see her father sitting beside her bed. Slowly she pushed herself upright, feeling very disoriented. 

“I was just tired,” she laughed, disregarding his words. “I should free up the bed for some who’s actually sick-”

“You are sick.” Edmont contradicted her, “and you need to rest.” 

“But I have so much to do. I have herbs to tend to-”

“You will help no one by being stubborn,” he scolded, making her flinch.

“Can I at least go home?” she mumbled wearily.

“I shall escort you.” Edmont shook his head at his restless daughter. He helped her to her feet, making sure her coat was buttoned up properly. “You really ought to look after yourself better,” he chided her, though his tone was somewhat softer.
