I am going to share six sentences from my upcoming chapter for Tales of Dani.

Turning to where Hob was, he sees that the mutant cat disappeared. Slash looks at his hands, claws still extended, and realized what happened and what he could've done if his teammates hadn't stopped him. "Come, my friend," Leatherhead tells him. "They are waiting for us." Nodding, Slash puts his mace back in his belt, and follows the two to the ShellRaiser. As much as he wanted to stop Hob before something worse could happen, he knew that Rockwell was right.

Currently consuming: Eating or media-wise other than watching? If the former, nothing right now unless you count my glass of water. If the latter I am listening to BBC Radio's Crown House in my ears and reading one of the Chronicles of St Mary's by Jodi Taylor with my eyes and enjoying both.

First ship: Probably Hank/Sheila from Dungeons & Dragons, although Five/Tegan must also come close. In that I knew what a ship was when I shipped it and wrote fic for it, Five/Tegan.

Another obscure ReBoot find on eBay in the UK. These originally came stuck to cereal boxes. Bob's picture is weird and terrifying but the rest are beaut. I'd like to get them mounted properly eventually, I'm sure it's possible. 💙💚 Glad someone kept them all.

8. Who gets extremely competitive playing Mario Kart?

The idea of 15th century people playing Mario Kart is just... lol. I think Henry would definitely be the more competitive one, seeing as men were expected to be competitive back then (or at least, were allowed to be so, far more than women), and historically he did compete with other European monarchs, particularly in the acquisition of wealth and the marriages of his children. The real Elizabeth was a model consort and had a very gracious personality, so I can’t see her trying to undermine her husband even in a modern AU. Henry would probably feel bad about beating her at Mario Kart though, so he probably wouldn’t try to win by too much.

9. Who accidentally pushes a door instead of pulling?

Elizabeth, probably. She was born and raised a princess, so I feel like she would have had servants opening doors for her for most of her life. Henry, on the other hand, spent many years as a courtier, so he probably had to open doors himself more frequently than Elizabeth did.

13. Who points out a dog when they see one?

Elizabeth again! As Queen, she was known for keeping greyhounds so her modern counterpart would be be a dog lover too :D

14. Who’s prone to road rage?

Out of the two, I think definitely Henry. While he was cool and collected in real life, there are a few recorded instances of him losing his temper, whereas there isn’t even one recorded instance that I know of the historical Elizabeth losing her temper at anyone.

44. What are their nicknames for each other?

Asdfjklasdhf. I think Henry would call Elizabeth either ‘Bess’ or ‘Bessy’ (like in the The Most Pleasant Song of Lady Bessy). For some reason, I can’t imagine Elizabeth giving Henry a nickname. I imagine she just calls him ‘Henry’? She almost certainly has a stupid pet name for him though lbr.

Well this is cool, an old pal on LJ has requested the next GR sketch be from "Tailor of Panama". So Harry Pendel is next up in the big "Countdown to 70" sketchathon. (I may or may not try to draw the gay club dance scene, it might be just too ambitious for me...)

Looking through these, I really like a first line that is understated in its simplicity, but implies a much greater thing is about to begin. It's rarely about feelings or where characters are but I'm not usually one for long set ups, dropping in media res or with avery basic set up right before it all explodes tends to be my jam.

Sometimes I feel like I see Palpatine on a different level to other people.

Like you can laugh that, after Vader vents his spleen in the last episode of Obi Wan, that all he says is "you seem agitated". No shit, you think.

And yet, maybe it's because I'm British, or maybe I just overthink this bad boi, or maybe I'm not getting people's humour, but this is exactly how master teachers, how powerful bosses, the ones who rule with barely a raised voice and brow, manage dissent, manage tantrums, be it a classroom or a staff or a single Chosen One. They drop hints, little warnings, and suddenly you go "oh shit, we pissed off the powerful one" and stfu. I've always felt Palps is like this with Vader. Every now and then he drops a little reminder, a piece of innocuous, maybe almost pointless code, just to remind Vader to wind his fucking neck in, and make him remember who it was who truly made him. Because Palps is a powerhouse. And we don't need to see force lightning every time to be reminded of this.

Also Ian McDiarmid, you look so frail, bless you, I hope you're okay.

I wish for Tumblr's Year in Review they highlighted the most obscure ships on this site as well as the most popular. Just so people can stare at users like me like I'm some sort of strange museum exhibit and go "omg I forgot about that show/film/book" and "srsly people ship that?"
