Wooseok X Reader
[Mentions: Yanan and Ten]
Maybe I should stop coming to band practices and stick to watching my mom coach ice hockey. I'm not even a fan of ice hockey, but at least it would get me out of the embarrassing moments. Which are of me making a fool of myself in front of Wooseok. Then again, he's at the rink every weekend. When they usually play the sport, which he cleans up after. But I guess it's better than watching him play basketball. Because every time I go over to congratulate him for doing well. Ten, one of my close friends, finds a way to ruin all approaches. It's not intentional, but god does it feel like it sometimes.
Yanan, another close friend, invited me over to Sunday practice. It's before Wooseok's shift at the hockey rink. So I thought, I can't make that much of a fool of myself. I was wrong,... The more I saw him everywhere, the more I realized I had the hugest crush on him. So that's why making a fool of myself was inevitable. Anyway, here I am on a Sunday listening to them play.
When they finish their playlist, I ask for an encore. They look between each other before shrugging, taking a few sips of water. And Wooseok says, "Let's play my new song!" They all agree, and when they finish playing his song. Wooseok asks me if I liked it, and I go, “I really like you.” Instead of saying, “I really like your new song!” I immediately tried to recover and retract what I let slip. And all Yanan could do was laugh. Wooseok just smiled at me, and I made a mental note to never come to another practice on a Sunday ever again.
They start to pack up, and I wait for Yanan since he's my ride back home. Wooseok asks them if they would want to come over next Saturday since he has it off. And if they would be up for a movie night. Yuto shakes his head, "No, I'm hanging out with my partner." Hoetaek shakes his head, and so does Yanan. He pouts, and Yanan nudges me since he knows I'm free. I gulp and tell him that I'm free Saturday if he still wants to have it. He grins and says, "Yeah! Totally! Studio Ghibli movies good with you?" I nod excitedly since some of my favorite movies are Studio Ghibli. I waved him goodbye, and Yanan teased me about the whole situation all the way home. "Next time, I'm driving myself there." He smirked at me as I got out, "I think you will be driving by yourself next Saturday~." I squinted at him, "I miss my sweet Yanan. If he's still in there, tell him I said, 'bye'!" I shut the door, and all I can hear is his laugh.
Next Saturday, I knock on his front door, and he lets me in with a huge smile on his face. He grabs us two drinks, and I follow him down the stairs. It's surreal visiting his basement outside of seeing it during a house show or practice. The regular for Wooseok's basement is nothing like this. The whole atmosphere is different,... whereas it is usually stuffy and crowded and everyone's singing along. It’s quiet, relaxed, and comfortable. While house shows and concerts, in general, can be the most comforting places. This feeling of being in a regular basement feels nostalgic. I wonder if Wooseok feels the same way every time he comes down here and isn’t playing with the boys.
He pats the couch that’s facing a television that I never noticed was down here. It’s probably hidden during shows, so it doesn’t get broken. I plop down next to him, and he turns it on and goes, “Have you watched any Studio Ghibli?” I nod and tell him, “Yeah, Ponyo is one of my favorites!” He grins, “Ah cool,... you wanna watch it?” I nod my head, and he turns it on. About ten minutes later, his mom comes down the stairs and says, “Hey, did you kiddos want popcorn? I noticed you guys didn’t bring snacks.” We both grin, and he goes, “Yes, please!” We pause the movie and rush up the stairs after her. She laughs at us and pulls a few bags of popcorn out of the cabinet.
She pops the popcorn and goes, “I’d watch Ponyo with you guys. But my murder mystery show just released a new season. So, I’ll be watching that up here.” She makes another popcorn bag with herself, and I go, “Ahh man, which one is it?” And she smiles and tells me all about how handsome the main actor is. Sometimes after the episode is over, she has to read a children's book because it was so bone-chilling. I laugh and tell her that I completely understand and tell her about the Unsolved series that I watch. She writes it down on her phone, and I jot down the series she recommended to me. I look up from our conversation to see Wooseok leaning on the counter watching us with a big smile. She tells us to enjoy ourselves as I grab the popcorn bowl. I smirk at him over my shoulder and throw a few popcorn kernels in my mouth, and he gasps. “Mom! (Y/n) is eating popcorn without me!” I rush down the stairs, and his mom laughs. “Snooze, you lose!” I say victoriously and settle down on his couch.
He smirks and takes a whole handful, and eats it in front of me. I squint at him, and we burst into laughter. He pulls the coffee table closer to us, and we put our feet on it. I resume the movie, and we dive into our snacks. “How did we forget popcorn?” He asks me, “I thought you knew!” He laughs, and I shake my head, “When I stare at you, I tend to forget my surroundings.” He tells me, scratching the back of his neck, and I blush a deep red. “Me too,...” We trail off and look back at the movie as Sosuke finds Ponyo. I take a sip from my pop before I look back over at Wooseok to see him looking over at me. I don’t know what comes over me, but I find myself leaning into him, he leans in as well, and we kiss.
I pull away, and he smiles, “I was so happy when you told me you really liked me on Sunday. Because I’ve had the biggest crush on you since Yanan introduced me to you.” I blush and peck his nose, “I’ve liked you since then as well. I never noticed how much of my world had you in it. It’s almost like the universe was trying to bring us together.” He grins, “I’d like to think so.” I snuggle into him and ask, “So what does this make us?” He scrunches his nose, “Hopefully, dating?” I grin, “I’d like that.” We redirect our attention to the television, and he puts his head on my shoulder. With my free hand, that isn’t shoving popcorn into my mouth, is playing with his hair while we watch Ponyo in his basement. This is the best movie night I’ve ever had.

green pea
order 038, anon: large classic milk tea with regular tapioca pearls for ptg's Wooseok
warnings: none!
summary: you and Wooseok have been childhood friends, but things are starting to feel a little different. it doesn't feel like 'friends' anymore, but something a bit more...
word count: 1.1k
barista 🥛's 💌: tbh i haven't properly listened to ptg in like,, a year? a few months?? and i just shuffled a playlist i have for them and organic song started playing and ugh i'm just,,, y e s
at the age of five, Jung Wooseok promised on a green pea that he'd marry you. yes, i know, it makes no sense out of context, but don't get mad at me just yet! here's the context for you.
at your school, kids would often be allowed to eat their lunch outside on days when the weather was nice. on one of these days, you sat out with your lunchbox open, munching away. a boy, oddly tall for his age, walked over and sat next to you without speaking a word. he quietly ate and for some reason, neither of you said a word. perhaps, you were waiting for the other person to speak first.
"what's your favourite vegetable?" the boy suddenly asked as he bit into a baby carrot.
your mind went blank and the first thing you could think of was "green pea."
"green pea? peas are gross!" the boy whined, sticking out his tongue.
then, to both of your surprises, a tiny green pea rolled over to where you were sitting. a kid further away had dropped his lunchbox, but none of you knew that. you simply thought this magic green pea had appeared out of nowhere.
"wow... we were just talking about green peas! you must be magic!" the boy exclaimed, picking up the green pea.
"my mom told me i should marry someone special when i'm older. if you're magic, then that makes you special. i swear on all the green peas in the world that i'll marry you!" the boy calls out.
"my mom says you shouldn't make promises you can't keep," you retorted. why would you want to marry an oddly tall boy with skinny limbs?
"i'll keep it... i'm Wooseok. Jung Wooseok," the boy said.
"i'm y/n," you replied.
from that day on, the two of you were inseparable. i guess we have the green pea to thank for that!
fast forward many years to the present and you're sharing an apartment with the big goof. life and the future are both still question marks for you, but at least you have each other.
"hey, you didn't forget to buy ramen, right? we've ran out for two weeks now," Wooseok explains from the couch as you walk into your shared apartment with arms full of groceries.
"of course i didn't forget, but you clearly forgot something," you say, dropping the bags down.
"i did?" he asks, turning his head to look at you.
"yes! to help me, you idiot."
he rolls off the couch and shuffles over, helping you empty the bag and place everything in its rightful spot in the kitchen. naturally, him being taller than you, he puts away the things that belong away in the higher shelves while you put the things away that belong on the lower shelves.
"we make a great team, don't we?" Wooseok asks.
you're about to make some smart remark until he presses his chest against your back and squashes you against the kitchen counter as you put something away. he puts something away in the same cupboard, but just higher. something about feeling his larger body against yours for that brief moment makes you feel so shy and sick in the stomach.
"y/n, what's wrong? why is your face burning up?" Wooseok asks, looking worried as he puts the empty bags away.
"i-i... why did you have to corner me into the counter like that!" you whine.
"i swear i didn't mean anything by it!" Wooseok defends with a laugh.
you grasp at your chest and your racing heart. it's probably just beating so fast because you were scared when Wooseok approached you like that, right?
"can we cook something together, today? since you just got groceries... and i'm tired of takeout food," Wooseok explains.
"let's try to find a simple recipe online, then," you say, pulling out your phone.
you lean against the counter and Wooseok does the same, shuffling close to you until your shoulders and arms are touching. once again, your face heats up as you feel Wooseok's warmth from right next to you.
"W-Wooseok," you stutter.
"hm?"
"why are you so close to me?" you blurt out.
his eyes move from the light of his phone to your face.
"what's wrong with that? do you not like it?"
"no, i--"
"y/n, your face is burning up again," Wooseok grumbles with a pout. he reaches out to touch your cheek with his hand, feeling the warmth for himself.
you shy away from his touch and ask yourself why you're doing that. you and Wooseok are friends, it's not like a stranger is touching you! but it feels different, now. it does feel like a friends thing anymore.
once you decide on a recipe, you and Wooseok work on preparing everything together. Wooseok hovers around you a lot, purposely reaching past you for things, holding your hands and showing you how to cut things (even though he's not that much better than you himself). something is definitely different, but you decide to brush it off for now.
"y/n, can we go eat outside in the park?" Wooseok asks, bouncing up and down. the motion reminds you of when he was a kid, and you reach up to ruffle his hair. he smiles against your touch and closes his eyes
"sure! let's pack this all up, then."
the two of you leave the house with your hands full of food and find a nice spot in the park to sit in the grass, right under the shade of a tree.
"ah, there's green peas in this rice?" Wooseok asks, holding up a spoonful of the rice.
"yeah, you dummy! we literally cooked this together," you remind the boy.
"yeah, but..." he mumbles.
"i was gonna say, do you remember when we first met?" Wooseok asks you.
"of course i do. we talked about green peas, just like the ones in this rice."
"do you remember what i promised you?"
you go quiet. of course you remember, but why is he bringing this up now?
"that i would marry you?" Wooseok asks, his cheeks turning pink. his smile radiates nervousness, and you wonder what his point is.
"yeah?" you mutter.
"y/n... do you think... we could be more than friends?" Wooseok asks, hesitantly reaching out to hold your hands in his larger ones.
"w-what?"
"do you think--"
"i heard what you said, i'm just... i--"
Wooseok chuckles and pats your head, shaking his own.
"you don't have to agree to anything or be sure of anything now. i just want you to consider it, because lately, i feel a little different around you. i wanted to tell you so you're also aware of it," Wooseok explains.
"you feel...?" you question the tall boy.
"i feel like i'm falling in love with you," he says bluntly yet sincerely.
"Wooseok..."
"i think my younger self knew what he was talking about when he made that promise to marry you," Wooseok says with a chuckle.
"i guess so," you say, smiling under the filtered sunlight that softly reaches for your face.

paper rings
jung wooseok x gender neutral! reader
a super fluffy non idol au || 2.9k
yes it’s a fic inspired by a taylor swift song, don’t come for me, we all know she and changgu are my ults (and I’ve been watching way too much say yes to the dress so...)
summary: after asking your boyfriend wooseok to help measure your ring size, he thinks you’re dropping hints 👀
Online shopping was not a good idea. For the obvious reason, of course, which is that you should be saving money so you and your boyfriend can move into a nicer apartment. But it’s not your fault you saw an ad for the cutest ring. And it’s not your fault it’s $10. How could you not get it?
The other issue is you not knowing your ring size. After a quick google search, you realize you need a piece of paper, a ruler, and a pen. Thankfully, all of those things are easy to find. It’s a struggle cutting a strip of paper thin enough to fit around your finger, but you get there in the end.
You’re trying to mark where the end overlaps when the front door opens. You reach across the couch to shut your laptop on the other side.
“Hey y/n,” Wooseok calls from the entryway. “I’m home.”
“Hi,” you say back. You’re still focused on holding the paper in place. You have no idea why they had to make this so hard. Surely there’s an easier way to figure it out.
“What are you doing?” He moves your laptop to the coffee table and sits down next to you.
“I’m measuring my ring size,” you tell him. He raises his eyebrows.
“Why?” You know he wouldn’t be mad at you buying a $10 ring, but you decide not to tell him for whatever reason.
“I just feel like it’s good to know.” You shrug awkwardly. “Here, help me.”
You hand him the pen and wrap the piece of paper around your ring finger. He takes your hand in his.
“See where the end touches the other part?” He helps you hold the paper in place. “Just make a mark there.”
“I don’t see it.” He moves your hand closer to his face to get a better look.
“What do you mean?” You ask, leaning in to see as well. “It’s right there.”
“Still don’t see it.”
You move even closer. Once your face is right in front of Wooseok’s, he pulls you in for a kiss.
“Sorry,” he says when he pulls away. “I missed you.” You laugh.
“You just saw me this morning.” He smiles. You place a light kiss on his cheek before turning back to the task at hand. “Can we finish this please?”
“Fine.” He picks up the pen again and marks the spot where the ends meet. “What’s next?”
“Grab the ruler.” He gets it from the coffee table. You take the piece of paper and lay it down on the couch between the two of you. “So I need to find out how many millimetres it is...”
“You’re so focused on this.” Wooseok’s watching you.
“What?” You say.
“It’s cute.” You roll your eyes, but you’re pretty sure you’re blushing. “How many millimetres is it then?” You tell him, so he pulls up a chart on his phone and shows it to you.
“I’m a size 5.” You give his phone back. “Wait.”
“What is it?”
“I just realized I only checked my right hand, what if my left hand is different?” You want to have the option of wearing your new ring on both.
“Your left hand?” You grab the piece of paper again, wrapping it around your ring finger. “Shouldn’t they be the same?”
“Only one way to find out.” He rolls his eyes, but helps you again.
“See?” Wooseok says. “They’re both a 5.”
“Remember that.” You grab the ruler, pen, and paper to put them away.
“I will.” You give him another kiss before heading to the kitchen. While you’re there, you grab some snacks and drinks.
After you put them down on the coffee table, Wooseok immediately pulls you down next to him on the couch. You don’t fight him. He’s not usually this clingy, he must’ve had a rough day at work.
“Wanna watch something?” He asks, wrapping his arms around you, resting his chin on your shoulder.
“Are we actually going to pay attention to it?” The last time you watched a film, the two of you fell asleep on the couch 30 minutes in.
“Shh,” he kisses your neck. “I just want an excuse to cuddle with you.”
“Go on then,” you hand him the remote. While he finds something, you make yourself comfortable, pulling your legs under you. Once Wooseok picks a movie, he leans back and you rest your head on his shoulder. He pulls you even closer as it starts.
At some point during the film, your hand finds his. It’s second nature to you, you barely even notice. It makes Wooseok nervous though.
He takes your hand in his, and finds himself thinking about what a ring would look like on your finger. It’s crossed his mind before. The two of you have been together for years, and you’ve talked about getting married many times. Wooseok has no doubt about it, he just isn’t sure when to propose.
The two of you don’t have a lot of money, Wooseok knows this. That’s why he hasn’t done it yet. He has no problem with waiting, until you’ve both saved some more, or you’ve moved somewhere nicer. But the fact that you’re talking about ring sizes makes him reconsider. Maybe now is the right time.
“You okay?” Wooseok’s focus shifts to you, looking up at him. “You seem distracted.”
“I’m fine.” He places a kiss on your nose. You nod, turning back to the screen.
Wooseok tries to focus on the movie, pushing all marriage thoughts out of his mind. But when you start laughing at something onscreen, he can’t help but laugh with you. He wants this for the rest of his life, he wants you for the rest of his life.
In that moment, he decides he’s going to ask you to marry him. Soon.
========== Two Weeks Later ==========
Your hours aren’t as long as Wooseok’s, so you always get home first. That’s why you’re shocked to see him in the kitchen when you walk through the front door.
“Hey babe,” you drop your bag at the door and go to see what your boyfriend is doing. “What’s going on?”
“Nothing.” He’s at the sink, so you wrap your arms around him and give him a hug from behind. “What’s going on with you?”
“I’m not used to seeing you home at this time,” you admit. He turns around, placing his hands on your shoulders. “It’s weird.”
“I asked to leave work early,” he tells you. “I can go back if it’s a problem though.”
You laugh at that. “It’s nice, we don’t spend enough time together.”
“y/n, we’ve lived together for 2 years.”
You cut him off with a kiss. “You know what I mean.”
“I guess.” You roll your eyes.
“What should we do?” You ask. “Since you’re home, we should do something special.”
“What did you have in mind?”
“Um,” you think for a second. “You’re the one who came home early. What did you have in mind?”
“We could go out,” you shake your head. “Watch a movie?” You shrug. “Order in?”
“That sounds like a good idea.” You let go of him. “Let me just get my phone charger and we can decide what to have.” You turn to go into the living room, but Wooseok grabs your arm.
“You can’t go in there.” He looks nervous.
“What’s wrong?” You ask. “Did you spill something? Break something?” He shakes his head. “Did you murder someone?”
“What?”
“You might be hiding the body in there, I don’t know.” Wooseok laughs at that, but he still sounds on edge. “Can I go get my charger?”
“I’ll get it for you.” You watch as he walks down the hall.
“Wanna tell me what’s going on?” You ask when he comes back.
“I have a plan y/n, don’t worry.”
“Is it an anniversary or something?” You glance at the calendar on the wall. As far as you know, it isn’t a special day.
“No,” Wooseok shakes his head. “I just wanted to do something nice for you, it’s a surprise.”
You raise your eyebrows, but don’t question it. “Okay.”
Wooseok pulls out his phone and the two of you decide what to get for dinner. You try not to focus on whatever the surprise is, and enjoy your time with him instead. That in itself is more than enough.
When your meal arrives, the two of you sit at the kitchen table and eat together. Normally you sit on the couch and have dinner, watching Netflix. This feels different, but nice different. He asks you about work, and you complain about your annoying co-worker. Wooseok lets you vent, and then takes your mind off of it. You always thought sitting with your significant other, complaining about work, would be terrible, but with Wooseok, you love it.
It’s not until you’re cleaning up that you remember the surprise. Once you throw away the last few napkins, you turn to Wooseok.
“Am I allowed into the living room now?”
“Give me five minutes.” You frown. He leans in to kiss your cheek, but you notice he’s shaking. “Trust me.”
“Hey,” you say quietly, reaching up to run your hand through his hair, “I’m gonna love it.” He nods, but he still seems uneasy. “And I love you.” You stand on your tip toes to kiss him. When you pull away, he keeps his arms around you for a few more seconds. He gives you another kiss and then lets go.
“Five minutes.” He says to you, before disappearing down the hallway.
You have no idea what this surprise could be. Especially if it’s making him so nervous. You’re excited though. No one on this earth knows you better than Wooseok, so you’re sure it’ll be great. Anything with him is great, to be fair.
“y/n,” he calls. “You can come now.”
When you walk in, the first thing you notice is all the lights. Wooseok’s set up little fairy lights on all the walls, completely illuminating the room. When you look closer, you see there’s pictures as well. He’s used clothes pins to hang them from the wires.
“Do you like it?” He asks quietly. You nod, leaning in to get a better look at the pictures.
“This is amazing,” you let your voice trail off. The first few pictures in front of you are from when you were in school together. This was way before you and Wooseok started dating, you were only friends then.
As you move around the room, you realize he’s organized them in chronological order. There are so many photos of the two of you together, you with your friends, at special events, tons of things you’d completely forgotten about. You’re surprised Wooseok even has all of these.
“Can we keep these up forever?” You ask, glancing at your boyfriend. He’s been standing back, watching you from a distance. “I love this,” you tell him, your voice breaking a little bit.
“Yeah?”
“I love you.” He smiles.
“I love you too.”
You turn back to the wall, where your eyes land on a picture from the day you moved in together. It was taken by Wooseok’s friend Kino, at your housewarming party. The two of you are in the entryway laughing, holding your keys.
“That feels like so long ago,” you say to yourself. Wooseok’s beside you now, looking at the pictures as well. “It must have taken you forever to put all of these up.”
“It’s worth it to see you smile.” That’s when the tears start falling. You didn’t mean to cry, but you’re just so overcome with emotion. No one else would do something this sweet for you.
“Sorry,” you say to Wooseok. He grabs a tissue and helps you wipe away your tears. “This is so.... I have no words.”
“I haven’t seen you speechless in a long time.” You laugh at that, wrapping your arms around his neck.
“I don’t have words to convey how I feel right now, but maybe this will help you understand.” You press your lips against his, softly at first, before kissing him deeper. You don’t ever want to let him go, physically or metaphorically. When you finally separate, you’re both a little breathless.
“Wow, okay,” he says.
“Got it?”
“Yes.” He pulls you over to the last wall, pointing out the most recent picture the two of you took together. “Look.”
You run your fingers over it. The two of you decided to clean up your apartment and found an old polaroid camera. It took you about 5 tries to get a decent photo, but it’s one of your favourites. You’re smiling at the camera, but Wooseok’s gaze is on you. It sounds silly, but it really does feel like your love for each other was captured in that picture.
Finally, you get to the last spot on the wall. There’s a picture frame, but it’s empty.
“It’s for today,” Wooseok’s voice says from behind you.
When you turn around, he’s on one knee. That’s when you realize what all of this was for.
“Oh my god,” you say quietly. Your heart is beating a thousand miles a minute, but when Wooseok smiles at you that all fades away.
“y/n, I love you and I can’t imagine life without you.” He sounds a lot more confident now, which makes you insanely happy. “I’ve wanted to ask you this for a while now, and this feels like the right time.”
“I think you’re right,” you tell him, grinning from ear to ear.
“Yeah?” He looks up at you. You nod. “Thank god.”
“Did you think I would say no?”
“I haven’t even asked the question yet,” Wooseok points out.
“Right, sorry.”
“y/n,” he opens the small box in his hand, but you don’t pay any attention to the ring. “Will you marry me?”
“Yes, yes, yes, yes, a thousand times yes.” Wooseok gets up and pulls you in for a hug. “This is amazing, you’re amazing.”
“I know,” he says. You roll your eyes. “Here, put this on.” He holds up the box and you finally see the ring.
“Oh my god Wooseok, that must have cost an arm and a leg.” He just smiles.
“I thought you’d like it,” he picks it up and takes your hand. “It’s a size 5 as well.”
That makes you laugh. He’s right though, it fits perfectly. And it looks great on your hand. Not that it matters, you’re just happy Wooseok’s yours.
“That’s what you were hinting at, right?” He asks, sitting down on the couch. He pulls you into his lap. “When you asked me to measure your ring size?”
“Oh my god,” you say, wrapping your arms around his neck. “No, I was buying a ring for myself online.”
Wooseok’s eyes grow wide. “So you weren’t trying to get me to propose?”
“I do want to marry you, don’t worry.” You reassure him. “I’ve never been more sure of anything in my life.”
“Good.”
“Do you remember where I left our ruler?”
“Why do you ask?”
“We have to figure out your ring size now,” you say, like it’s obvious.
“Oh god,” Wooseok mutters.
“We need matching rings! That’s like, the whole point of marriage.” He laughs at that.
“Can I take back my proposal?”
“Nope!” You plant a kiss on his cheek. “The ring’s on my finger, it’s all over now.”
“Nothing’s over,” he tells you. “It’s only just begun.” You smile at that.
“Nevermind the ruler, where’s the camera?” You point to the empty frame on the wall. “We’ve gotta fill that in.”
“Oh right,” Wooseok says, gesturing to the side table. “I left it over there.”
You grab it and then run back to his side. “Let’s try to get this right the first time.” He holds the camera in front of you, while you turn his head towards yours to give him a kiss. You hear the shutter of the camera but you don’t move for a couple of seconds.
When you pull away, Wooseok hands you the polaroid. You both sit and wait as you shake it, trying to get it to develop faster.
“That’s adorable,” he says when it finally shows up.
“You’re right,” you reply, holding it up to get a better look at it. “Our first photo as an engaged couple.”
“I love it.”
“I love you,” you say without second thought. “My fiancé.”
“It’s so weird hearing you say that.”
“I know, right?” The two of you laugh. “Wait a minute though.”
You get up again to grab a piece of paper from the kitchen. When you come back, you rip a thin strip and twist it to make a ring.
“Here you go,” you hold it up. Wooseok holds out his hand, so you slide it onto his ring finger. “Now you’re mine.”
“It’s actually quite cute.” He holds it up to the light. “I should’ve just gotten you a paper ring.”
“I would’ve said yes.”
“Really?” He asks. “Give that one back then, I’ll return it.”
“No!”
“Maybe we can use paper rings instead of wedding bands.”
“That’s not a terrible idea.” Wooseok rolls his eyes at you, but then the two of you break out into a fit of laughter.
You can’t wait to do this with him every day of your life.

=====
Did you mean to get lost? Of course not. You swore you saw something flash in the forest nearby and decided to follow its trail. That was it. A little curiosity never hurt right?
Though it turned into an unintentional adventure when you traveled a little too deep into the woods.
Were you upset that you were lost? Not particularly. Being lost meant that you were away from the party and even better, you had a valid excuse to be absent.
Was it a big deal that you weren't at the party? Perhaps, because the whole purpose was supposed to celebrate your engagement with some prince from a nearby kingdom. The two families had finally decided that they wanted to come together, and they decided that the best way to do that (supposedly) was to have the two heirs married.
But yeah, to you, it was still just a prince from a nearby kingdom because you've literally never met this man before.
Sure, you knew of him. That his name was Jung Wooseok, that his parents frequented your place for dinners. You've seen him milling around the town square sometimes — it's hard not to notice him when he towered over pretty much everyone else. And you’d say he was pretty good looking, if you had to give an answer, though you were usually distracted by the fact that his actions were the embodiment of youth. Last time you saw him, he sprinted by with 10 baguettes in his hands as curious whispers and frightened shouts followed him. They didn’t stop the boy in the slightest bit.
So hopefully this Wooseok was a really good guy, or else you'd had to do some major convincing to get yourself out of the engagement.
But that wasn't the concern right now because you were truly, genuinely, very much lost at the moment. You were certain that you've passed the same tree almost six times by now and all the mossy stumps looked the same.
You’ve never explored the forest on your own before, and now you regretted all the missed opportunities you had to play outside with the other children when you were little. Instead you thought your studies were more important.
You bit back a yelp when you tripped over something and almost face-planted into the tree in front of you.
"Ouch."
That was not your voice. That was most definitely not your voice.
The ground does not talk, the ground does not talk, the ground does not talk.
"The ground does not talk..." You whispered the mantra to yourself and dared to look down.
Your eyes followed the pair of shoes up to the mysterious man's face. His eyes bore right into yours and you finally came to terms that he was, in fact, laying on the ground, white suit and all.
"What?"
"Geez, I really did think that no one would bother me here, but I guess I was wrong." He sighed and rubbed his neck, bending his legs to make more room for you.
"What are you doing on the ground? In the middle of a forest no less?"
He held a hand up and began lazily counting on his fingers. "Resting, relaxing, thinking... sleeping."
You didn't even hear his answer when you scanned his face once more and realized why he seemed so familiar. "Aren't you my fiancé-to-be?"
"I suppose so." He got up, brushing off the leaves that had fallen onto him and you wondered just how long he had been laying on the grass for. He then held a hand for you to take and he bowed. "A pleasure to meet you officially, my name is Wooseok"
"Likewise, I’m y/n." You replied and pondered over your next question before deciding that you didn't have to filter yourself so much in front of him. "Don't you care about your outfit? You have a party to attend."
"I could just get someone to clean it or replace it." He answered nonchalantly without missing a beat.
"So that's what it's like to be rich, huh." You deadpanned. "No pressure to keep an image? Lucky."
"Oh, I'll probably get scolded like hell when I get back, but I couldn't care less about my image. The only time I did was when I had my portrait done. They painted my eyes perfectly, and that's all that matters." Wooseok mentioned that last part haughtily.
"You do have nice eyes...." You admitted quietly, though you quirked your eyebrows at his odd fixation on that specific memory.
"What was that?" He teased way too obviously.
You decided to humour him and repeated, this time a little bit louder. "I said you have nice eyes."
He blushed and you watched him lick his lips in nervousness. It's as if he wasn't expecting you to give in so easily and you took note of that. You could definitely take advantage of his true shyness in the future.
"Th-thanks." He stuttered and you laughed. In the distance, you heard cheers coming from the party and the music started up again. Food must’ve been served.
You looked at Wooseok and tried to break the awkwardness. "I take it that you don’t really want to be here either. How long do you think we have until they come to hunt us down?"
His eyebrows furrowed as he went into deep thought. "28 minutes, on the dot."
You tilted your head. "And how are you so sure?"
He dropped a hand onto your shoulder. "Just trust me on this one."
You pursed your lips but didn't argue with him. "And what should we do during those 28 minutes?"
"I don't know about you, but I don't mind getting to know you better. At least, as much as I can, before our families force us to kiss in front of the crowd or something." He threw that out casually as he stretched (it was the truth, after all), but his voice wavered a little.
"True that..." You replied softly. The atmosphere grew a little awkward again as he kicked around the stones near his feet in silence.
"What were you doing before I tripped over you?" You asked to strike up yet another conversation and he let out a laugh at your question.
"I was looking at the stars."
"The stars?" You echoed as you strained your neck to look at the decorated sky. It wasn't often that you got to be outside at night, much less all alone, and you quickly realized how much you've taken the stars for granted.
They were beautiful.
"Yeah." Wooseok let out a huff as he returned to the ground to lay on his back again. He patted the spot next to him. "Want to join me?"
"Sure..." Your voice dwindled off when you touched the damp grass and then looked down at your outfit. There was no way you're going to get out of this without staining the fabric and you paused at those thoughts. What's a good excuse for a bunch of grass stains on your back? Would a clumsy trip cover it?
Sensing your hesitation, the other sat back up and began taking off the white coat that covered his suit. He then settled it onto the empty spot beside him. "Here, you can use this. I really couldn't care less about the stains, but I know you still got a reputation to hold."
"Unfortunately, I've already lost mine." You heard him quietly add to the side.
"Thank you, I appreciate it." You said.
He was a tall boy, so it made sense that he also had a long coat and you never would’ve thought of the benefits of that fact until today. Though it still wasn't enough to protect your entire outfit, it was sufficient damage control and you reasoned that you'd be able to come up with some kind of excuse for the few, inevitable stains.
For a while, you both laid on the grass in silence, watching the stars and occasionally putting the music history drilled into your minds to the test, naming the new song each time the band at the party switched pieces. The conversation then drifted back to your hobbies and you listened to Wooseok talk about his stargazing again.
He pointed a long finger at the sky and you tried your best to follow his gaze. "That's Aquila over there. Its brightest star is Altair. That one."
"I honestly have no idea which star you're pointing at, but you sure know a lot about stars." You commented lightly.
"I have a friend who loved space." He chuckled. "He always wanted to be an astronaut and wouldn't shut up about it. Then he got caught up in all his 'princely' duties and suddenly disappeared with his studies." He hummed. "I wonder where he is now, probably looking at the sky the same time we are. He always likes to keep his habits a secret."
Your expression softened at his wistful tone. "Maybe one day you could visit his place and see how he's doing? I could come with you if you'd like, keep some company. It could be another adventure, invite him along with us."
"That'd be nice. I think you would be good friends." He clicked his mouth and you waited for him to say more.
"You ever feel like everyone's growing up and you aren't?"
"Definitely." You replied.
"I know I'm immature, that's a well-known fact about me, but it's really because I'm clinging onto the childhood that I feel like I missed out on. All those classes and formalities, looking out the window and watching other kids play — why couldn’t I do those things too? Now that I'm all grown up, I have the freedom to do whatever I want, but suddenly all of my friends have turned into the person I was when I was little. They're grown up and stocked up on responsibilities and it feels like I missed out on my only opportunity to have fun..." He trailed off and cleared his throat.
"Sorry, I didn't mean to put that load onto you so suddenly. All this thinking has, well, got me thinking, I guess. And the fact that I'm getting engaged today is a little off-putting, no offence. It's a big responsibility and I worry that I'm too immature to commit to it." He let out a deep breath and waited for your answer.
You never really thought about your life that way until you heard Wooseok put it into that perspective. Perhaps it’s because you’ve always begrudgingly busied yourself with your royal duties, but you suddenly found yourself agreeing to everything he said. The two of you were more similar than you initially thought, now that you've witnessed what's underneath his childish persona.
"If it makes you feel better, I understand what you're saying." You didn’t know why, but you felt the need to whisper. "I couldn't care less for titles, sometimes I wish I could live life as a normal person. Sounds more exciting."
Your conversation was interrupted by someone shouting your name, followed by Wooseok’s. That shout was followed by several more from different voices and you perked up, realizing that they were beginning their search for you. It must've been time for the actual highlight of the party.
Had it already been 28 minutes? That went by faster than you would’ve liked.
"They're finally coming for us." You looked over at Wooseok.
All of the downcast emotions he was pouring out before were absent and a small smile was planted on his face instead. He took one of your hands into his and planted a soft kiss on the back of it.
"How about we run away?" He suddenly suggested, and you choked at his words, not even having the chance to wrap your head around the fact that he kissed you. Even if it was just on the hand.
"You want us to run away?"
"Like not, run away, run away. I'm not going to pull a Romeo and Juliet on us, but we should mess around for a little while longer; get them to chase us." He smirked. "It'll probably give us about an extra five and a half minutes or so."
"You seem to be really confident with your numbers." You responded, hesitantly standing up to return the jacket which he slipped on without a second thought.
He shrugged. "If I sound confident enough, eventually someone will come along and believe me."
"Are you implying something here?" You laughed, appalled at his impudence.
"Maybe." He cheekily smiled and you felt your cheeks heat up. You couldn't tell if it was because of his jab or because he looked quite stunning under the moonlight, hair dishevelled and clothes stained.
The shouts got louder and the music stopped, but you ignored them and continued to laugh.
"Alright then, Sir Wooseok," You held a hand out to help him off the grass.
"Lead the way."

pairing: jung wooseok x reader (gender neutral) word count: 0.4k christmas drabbles masterlist main masterlist inspo from this prompt list
You hadn’t even wanted to come to this party. The music was too loud, the people too boisterous. You’d only come along because Wooseok had asked you with those puppy-dog eyes he was so skilled at; you couldn’t deny him anything when he pleaded so sincerely with those beautifully warm brown eyes. Speaking of Wooseok, you realised it had been a while since you saw him. It had been a while since you saw anyone, in fact, tucked away in a quiet corner of the party, your attention focused on your phone rather than your surroundings.
You jumped up from your spot; maybe if you found Wooseok he’d be ready to leave by now. You navigated the many rooms of the unfamiliar house. Though you knew a few people in the crowds you swam through, you weren’t even sure who the house belonged to.
You pushed open a door, only to sorely regret it when you found two people standing underneath a sprig of mistletoe, locked in an embrace.
“Sorry!” you apologised, averting your gaze and ducking back out of the room.
“Y/N.”
You paused, looking back up. Only for your heart to be completely and utterly stamped on. Wooseok. With some girl you knew, Xing-yi. You turned, running before either of them could see the tears spilling over your cheeks.
“Y/N, wait!” Wooseok called out. You ignored him, finding your way to the front door and stepping out into the cool night air.
Wooseok caught up to you, reaching a hand out to your shoulder. “Y/N, I’m sorry.”
You shrugged away from his grip. “It’s fine, Seok,” you insisted, your tone harsh.
“No, really, I’m sorry,” he reiterated. His voice was hoarse, and he sounded so apologetic and hurt that you began to feel a little guilty.
You avoided looking at him; you didn’t need your heart to be broken any further. “It’s not like we’re dating or anything, Wooseok. You’re perfectly welcome to kiss whomever you wa–”
Wooseok swiftly shut you up by pressing his lips to your own. Your wide eyes slipped shut as you melted into him. His hands went to your waist, holding you close to him and you rested your own hands on his chest. He pulled away, and looked deeply into your eyes. There was nothing but silence between you as he wiped the tears out of your eyes.
“That kiss meant nothing, Y/N, I swear. She made a move on me – I didn’t even want to kiss her. You’re the only one I want to kiss,” Wooseok insisted. You could tell he was telling the truth.
“Can we go home?” you asked hopefully.
“Yeah,” Wooseok agreed, pecking your lips once more. “Let’s go home.”

I wrote this drabble a few months ago for my book on wattpad so if y’all find any similar imagines on wattpad , it’s probably me XD
Enjoy!
It must have been around 4 am in the morning when Y/n hears knocks on her front door ,immediately waking her up from her deep, comfortable slumber.
Lazy and groggy as she already was, she walks towards the door , not really caring as to who it was behind the door and why should she? This is no time to disturb a human being!
Although it is a summer morning, the cold metal of the door knob sends chills down her spine.
And what she sees next scares her deeply to the core, breaking her heart into a million pieces and sending streams of sadness flow down her face; for it is not everyday that you find the man you love at your doorstep, beaten up beyond recognition.
"Hi,Y/n. Can I please come in?" Wooseok's voice is hoarse as he leans against the door frame, one hand against the wall, helping him stand up and one hand pressing a bloody handkerchief to his bleeding nose.
He has a cut on his upper lip and on his right cheek and there are bruises and cuts in all places where his skin was not covered with clothes. As Y/n's eyes quickly scan him from head to toe,she notices his split ,purple knuckles and the blood on his shoes, and she immediately pulls him into her arms.
"What the hell happened, Wooseok? " She says, trying her best to support his weight with her small frame and walk him toward her bedroom.
"The bullies again. " he groans from the pain all the movement causes. His possibly broken jaw feels as if it's on fire.
"God, What do they even want from you ,huh?" She almost yells, frustrated and angered and heartbroken, all her sleepiness from earlier disappearing into thin air.
She carefully puts him on her bed, and removes his shoes so he could lie down properly, ignoring all his protests of having dirty clothes on.
*****
Growing up with parents from a medical background, Y/n thankfully knows the basics of first aid so she quickly cleans and dresses his wounds and puts ointment on the bruises.
"Are the pants fitting you?" Y/n asks Wooseok as she washes the bloody handkerchief under the faucet in the bathroom while Wooseok sits at the edge of her bed, feet touching the floor and his mind filled with thoughts.
He is wearing Y/n's father's pants and a blanket is wrapped around his naked upper body in case he feels cold.
"Yeah. "He replies with a small smile, his heart full of gratitude and adoration for the woman in front of him.
Y/n can feel his eyes on her and even though every shake of her hands, every beat of her heart ,every single cell in her body wants her to look back at him , but something holds her back. She sighs and focuses on the task at hand instead of drowning herself in thoughts of Wooseok and how much she desires him ,despite him sitting right in front of her.
After hanging the handkerchief to dry out , she walks upto the side of her bed and gently takes Wooseok's face in her hands, running her fingers gently over the non injured skin of his cheeks.
"Why do they keep doing this? This is the fifth time in a month goddamn it."she says as her eyes yet again scan him from head to toe,her heart clenching everytime she sees his injuries.
The lack of physical distance between them has caused an adrenaline rush through Wooseok's veins and he stares at her face , capturing minor details of in order to calm his racing heart. Their faces are inches apart, their breaths mixing together yet Wooseok wonders why she feels like she's so far away,so distant.
His eyes travel from her eyes ,nose and then lips, and it takes a lot of inner determination for Y/n to not lean down and kiss him while he openly stares at her lips.
"I'm going to get you something to eat." She mutters in a small voice as she pulls away from him ,only to be pulled back by him.
With his hand wrapped around her wrist , she lands softly on the mattress, her cheeks turning red.
"No. Stay with me." he says as he crawls towards her such that their legs touch each other.
His hand tucks a few strands of hair behind her ears and then it travels down to her waist, squeezing it softly as if to bring her closer than she already was.
"Wooseok, stop it." She whispers, her ears turning red at the sudden change of tension in the air. She looks down at her feet, trying hard to convince herself that she doesn't like Wooseok, that she doesn't like what he's doing right now.
"Do you really want me to stop? " he asks ,his warm breath fanning her face and making goosebumps appear on her skin.
Does she want him to stop touching her ? Does she want him to stop being in love with her? No.
But was she afraid of commitments ? Was she afraid of falling in love to such an extent that there's no coming back from it ? Yes.
"No." she whispers ,still not having the guts to look him in the eyes.
"Then why do you keep turning a blind to whatever we have?" He asks. His voice now sounds sad, not curious, not angry. His touch on her waist becomes softer.
"Because I'm afraid." Y/n finally replies, her hands limp in her lap. She slowly looks up at Wooseok and her heart skips a beat when their eyes meet, her chest exploding with strong emotions of adoration and desire and sudden rebelliousness.
She looks at his yearning eyes and sees nothing but love and respect for her and even though she's terrified of what is to come, she slowly grabs his jaw with one hand while the other rests on his well built chest.
"I love you. " She says, capturing his lips with her hers.
The sudden contact makes Wooseok's eyes wide but he is quick to respond, holding her waist tightly in place while they devour each other's lips like starving animals. Every moment of contact sets fire to Y/n's skin and every lack of contact makes her yearn for more. The hand that was on his chest now grabs his nape and pulls him even closer ,if there is any closer, as she feels him lick her bottom lip for a split second before going back to kissing.
He pulls away and trails his lips down her jaw, lingering there for a second too long and then going down to kiss her neck.
"Wooseok.." she softly groans, running her fingers through his hair as he continues to place soft kisses in every inch of her neck.
"I love you too. " He says in between kisses. "I love you so much ."
Hearing those words make her feel whole and despite all her fear and insecurities, she knows what she wants.
This is what she wants, not just today but everyday for the rest of her life.
And that afternoon, while she lays her head on his bare chest as he plays with her hair, she knows that this is what Wooseok wants for the rest of his life too.

my biggest fan - part 5
Pairing: basketball player! jung wooseok x reader
Summary: “My biggest fan is so cute.”
part 4
“Guess who got the cutest compliment from Y/N yesterday?” Wooseok asks rather proudly. The boys groan and give complaints, but decide to amuse him by going along anyway.
“Oh, I don’t know, Wooseok. Who could it possibly be?” Jinho answers dramatically, then deeply sighs.
“Please tell us, great Wooseok.” Yuto rolls his eyes.
“It was me.” Wooseok smirks. He then goes on to tell them about how you waved your hands around as you cutely told him what you thought about his playing at their last game.
“Y/N compliments you one time and suddenly, you’re all cocky.” Yeo One sighs and shakes his head, then grins. “But when it actually comes to talking to Y/N, you back out so easily.”
“Y/N makes me nervous, okay? You would act the same way, but you don’t like her like I do, so you don’t understand.”
“Uh huh.”
Wooseok’s argument is interrupted when Shinwon lets out a tired groan and waves his hand. “We get it already, Wooseok. You’re going to marry Y/N and have thirty children together.”
Wooseok’s head snaps up to meet his friend’s eyes, which is twinkling with mischief.
“Whoops. Did that slip out? Sorry. I might’ve seen the plans you wrote down in your notebook about your future with Y/N.” He innocently smiles. Though, it is anything but innocent.
“I DIDN’T WRITE ANYTHING ABOUT THAT ANYWHERE, SHINWON.”
“Didn’t he mention something about riding off into the sunset with Y/N too?” Hui adds, joining in with the fun and teasing.
“Huh. Now that you mention it, he might have.”
“Oh! Don’t forget about how he planned their wedding too!” Kino giggles. The boys sneak a peek at their youngest friend and smirk. His cheeks are as bright as can be and his lips turn into a pout as he tries to desperately defend himself. This only pushes them to keep going, even taking it up a notch.
“T-THERE IS NO SUCH THING LIKE THAT, KINO.”
Hongseok gasps and covers his mouth with his hand. “Without Y/N’s input? Now, that’s just rude of you, Wooseok.”
“Have you no sense of decency?” Yanan scolds.
“DON’T YOU TWO GET STARTED TOO.”
As the group loudly laughs and teases the youngest until he’s blushing with much embarrassment, none of them notice someone approaching them.
“We’re teasing Wooseok? How fun!” You beam as you stand behind Wooseok. His eyes widen upon hearing the sound of your voice and he deeply gulps. His friends watch in amusement as he slowly turns around to face you. You sweetly smile at him while he gapes at your appearance. “May I join you?”
“Uh-um, well, you know-”
“What that idiot means to say is yes, yes you can,” Jinho answers for him and rolls his eyes.
“Thanks,” You giggle and sit down in the empty seat beside Wooseok. He looks at you in awe before quickly looking away when you meet his eyes. You bite back a chuckle as you turn to the rest of them.
“So what was it that you were all teasing him about anyhow? He’s so red that I would have mistaken him for a tomato.”
“A cute tomato?” Yuto asks nonchalantly, biting into his apple.
“Yu-Yuto, are you trying to flirt for Wooseok?” Hui questions and narrows his eyes. Yuto only shrugs.
“Someone has to or else they wouldn’t get anywhere. Anyway, I’ve got practice. See ya.” He stands up and gathers his things. You all watch him in disbelief and wonder. Meanwhile, Wooseok hits his forehead on the table, startling everyone around him.
“W-Wooseok?” You ask worriedly.
“I have idiot friends,” He mumbles. You laugh, patting him on the back to cheer him up. His breath hitches in his throat and he doesn’t dare look up. Meanwhile, Hui clears his throat and shoots the others glances to leave the two of you alone. They nod and gather up their stuff, then slowly and quietly stand up. You look at them curiously until Jinho sends you a wink and a mischievous smile. You giggle and mouth your thanks. You turn back to him and continue to comfort him.
“There, there. Yuto just had your best interest at heart. At least I think so.”
Wooseok whines and buries his face deeper into his arms. The tips of his ears growing redder. You bite back a smile.
“Well, it’s not like I minded that he flirted for you,” You mumble and he raises his head to look at you, caught off by surprise by what you said. Even more so, your faces are closer than what either of you think. Your cheeks rise in temperature as neither one of you pull away.
“Woah.”
“Huh?”
“You’re even prettier up close.”
“I am?” You softly gasp. He tilts his head in curiosity.
“Your eyes are such a lovely color. I never knew that, even though I look at you all the-” Wooseok stops, catching himself in time. Though, he has already let you know more than he liked to share.
You turn away from each other, trying to calm your beating hearts as well as gathering enough courage to face the other again.
“Is this what he felt when I complimented him yesterday? Oh, my! Look at what he did to my heart! It’s beating too fast!”
“I-I was close to Y/N. I could almost kiss Y/N if I just leaned a little-NO! Wooseok, no! You can’t kiss Y/N without permission!”
Still not able to face the other just yet, you sneak glances instead. The blushing is prominent, the nervousness is obvious and you’re pretty sure the other could hear just how loud your heart is pounding. It’s clear to see how you feel about each other, but your hearts aren’t brave enough to confess.
“Wooseok?”
“Mm?”
“Did you really mean it?”
“Mean what?”
“Y-You know, about what you said about me just now.”
“Oh. Uh.”
You gulp, a bit nervous to hear his response. That is until you see him softly smile.
“Yeah, I meant it.”
“Oh, I see.”
You then giggle.
“You sure are the cutest with your compliments, Wooseok.”
You burst into laughter as his face contorts into one of surprise.
“H-HUH?”

Writing Prompt #76: Wooseok
Jung Wooseok x OC
#76: “You need to wake up because I can’t do this without you.”
word count: 1,373
prompts for days list
There were two things that definitely made you feel instantly annoyed whenever you get to school. One, the number of school work literally plopped on top of your desks before the day ended.
And two, Jung Wooseok.
He was that one person you’ve despised ever since you moved to your new school a year ago. Sure, it’s recent than most people who have had useless and childish foes for years, but something about him just got you riled up whenever he opened that mouth to speak, or even smaller like a yawn. So what made you start disliking this guy?
Well, it started when you randomly joined a club just to get extra credit for school, but you ran out of options and were only left with either cooking, which you knew you were really bad at, and public speaking.
You hated the thought of doing public speaking.
Wooseok was the then-Vice President of the “Public Peers Club”, an organization that consisted of students who loved joining debates, public speaking activities, and even public writing contests from within the school and out. You joined for the public writing contest then, since you weren’t so sure about the thought of memorization since you knew you sucked at it, but Wooseok decided to put you into one of the debates organized by the seniors. What was worse was that you weren’t even knowledgeable enough for the topic being discussed, which was about the role of politics with the ongoing academic crisis in the country’s educational system. Wooseok knew very well you weren’t someone to speak their minds thoroughly, but you didn’t have a choice.
What happened during the day of the event?
Let’s just say, your group lost.
Horribly.
“Thanks to you,” as Wooseok would remind you over and over. The fact that he had the guts to put you in a place where you knew you were much uneducated on made your feelings of annoyance and hatred towards him grow the more you saw him on campus and in class. You’d ignore him at times if he ever tried speaking to you, which happened quite a number of times before. You would feel bad, but your ongoing feelings of negativity towards him were a bit stronger.
Finally getting on board the bus that passed by the route to your school, you searched for a seat and found one, luckily, since it was usually full whenever you were on your way. Once you sat down, you immediately saw a tall, young man with the same uniform as you that stood nearby. You rolled your eyes the moment you realized it was indeed, Wooseok, minding his own business as he had his earphones on and was balanced enough for the bus to abruptly move and not make him fall over. You wished he did fall over, though, but that was just filled to your amusement.
Once the bus got to the bus stop near your school, you waited for Wooseok to move first before you could stand up. He walked out of the bus and you immediately dashed out after, taking a few steps back to not make yourself too visible from him. After standing just a few feet away, you slowly walked and followed his pace, not realizing you were already staring at his feet.
You didn’t notice he already turned and faced you, and your face was still looking down until you felt the top of your head hit on someone’s chest. You clicked your tongue, and closed your eyes before shaking your head, not able to raise it up to look at Wooseok who had a confused but amused smirk on his face whilst his hands were inside both of his pockets.
“Looks like someone’s following me.” he sighed, looking down at you
“I was following a bird.” you replied firmly, not even moving your head the least
“I don’t see a bird.” he chuckled, shaking his head
“It must’ve flown away, then.” you huffed and slowly raised your head, looking at him with furrowed brows as his face was still as smug as ever
“I don’t get why you’re so annoyed by my presence. Whenever I try to talk to you, you push me away as if I’m just dust.” Wooseok crossed his arms as he tilted his head, looking at you from head to toe
“Because of you, I embarrassed myself in front of hundreds of people.” you crossed your arms as well, retorting
“Well, if you only researched even a tiny bit about the topic, then you would’ve survived. Don’t you watch the news?” he said while slowly giving a frown
“I do. I just don’t care much about politics.” you replied hazily
“Same goes for, like, 60% of the whole class.”
“What’s your point? I just obviously don’t like you.” you said in almost a whine, making him erupt into a light chuckle
“Sure you do.” he turned and moved towards the gate, making you open your mouth in appall and continue walking towards the campus
-
Your squinting eyes wouldn’t leave the back of Wooseok’s head during class. You felt his cockiness just from the way he moved around his seat and spoke to his seatmates. It slightly made your blood boil, but you contained yourself and just ignored your thoughts of him.
“Okay, class. It’s speech day tomorrow, and I want all of you to join. I’ll group you all into two and you will choose a topic of your own. Wooseok, as the president of the speech organization in school, you get to choose who you want to partner up with.” your teacher smiled as he looked at Wooseok while leaning on his table
You sighed and chuckled, looking at the window next to you to try and ignore Wooseok
“Y/n.”
Everyone’s reactions were mixed as they looked at you, and you were confused as to why Wooseok would pair up with you in the first place. You looked at him and mouthed “what are you doing?!”, but he just gave off a shrug
“Wooseok, are you sure you want to partner up with y/n?”
“Sure as ever.” he smirked, looking at the teacher and then to you
Right after classes, you marched up to Wooseok as he started putting in his books in his bag. He already knew you were walking up to him, but you were so sure you wanted to speak with him firmly about what happened earlier.
“You think this is a joke, huh?” you crossed your arms and tapped your foot on the ground, but Wooseok just continued cleaning up his things
“I’m trying to help you.” he gave you a side eye and closed his bag, putting on the slings on his shoulders
“You’re not helping me. You’re only embarrassing me.” you almost yelled, but Wooseok kept calm
“Okay, fine. You choose the topic for the speech.” he said as he looked at you
“Okay.” you replied while in thought
You kept thinking, what could possibly make Wooseok rethink of a topic over and over and get a hard time of getting a git on, that you were confident in speaking yourself?
“Feminism.”
“Excuse me?” he raised a brow, crossing his arms right after
“You heard me. Feminism. Unless, you’re gonna chicken out on the event all because you can’t speak much of women?” you raised your brows, not backing down
“A little bit of research wouldn’t hurt for me. Wait, don’t you want to study on this together?” he asked, sounding unsure of himself
“Just think of the most iconic roles of females from the past decades, and I’ll do all the speaking. Unless… I leave you all alone to fend for yourself.” you gave a smug, alarming him almost
“Don’t do that. I swear, you have to help me on this.” Wooseok pleaded, and you just replied with a shrug
“We’ll see.” you walked away, humming and leaving him all alone as he stood and looked at you go out of the room
-
Only a couple of hours before the event at school, Wooseok waited for you inside the classroom. The other students were already on their way to the gymnasium, but you didn’t arrive in time for the morning ceremony and you felt like going a little bit later just to scare Wooseok.
Which, in fact, worked. He was getting nervous trying to review his researches and you knew this would agitate him. You were sure that you knew all the things you needed to speak about, since you were pretty educated on feminism. Wooseok, knew a bit of this topic, but he did not dive much into it. He was usually a fast learner, but for some reason with the mix of you being his partner, made him even more worried he might mess up. He came to a realization that you didn’t arrive school yet and were probably still asleep, so he decided to dial your number on his phone.
“Come on, y/n. Please pick up.” he mumbled after dialing your phone for the 5th time, making him even more anxious
“The subscriber cannot be reached. Please leave a message after the beep.”
“Damn it.” he groaned as soon as the voicemail started
“You need to wake up because I can’t do this without you.”
He said with a heavy sigh and put down the phone. What he didn’t know was that you were already by the doorway of the classroom and looked at him. You cleared your throat and Wooseok immediately faced the doorway to see you smirking and crossing your arms.
“Wow. Seriously?” he chuckled
“Nope. I left my phone and I woke up a little later. But just in time for the speech competition.” you said, seeing Wooseok walk up to you and smiling
“You ready to tear the building apart with our massive speech?” he grinned
“I just want to pass this subject and get it over with.” you rolled your eyes and walked to the direction of the gymnasium, Wooseok following you a while after and laughing to himself.
-
Finally, the speech event was over. Surprisingly, you and Wooseok won the first prize and went home with a trophy and a pretty big amount of money, funded by the school itself. Your classmates congratulated both of you for being able to bear with each other and pass, and you felt like Wooseok wasn’t such a bad guy after all.
You walked away and were about to leave the school building, until Wooseok walked up to you just as you were to grab the front door. You looked up and just gave him a smile in return
“So, uh. We won like… $50.” he said as he held the envelope, smiling
“Yeah. Keep it. I kind of want to get home.” you shrugged
“Already? Let’s buy some food with this. Come on.” he nudged you lightly on the shoulder, chuckling
“My treat?” he raised his brows in amusement, making you laugh lightly at his antics
“Fine.” you said before reaching out for the doorknob
“Ahem, ladies first.” he grabbed the doorknob first and opened the door for you, and you just shook your head as you walked out and he followed you after
“You know what, Wooseok? You’re not such a bad person after all.” you smiled as he walked next to you towards the campus gate
“So does this mean you like me and agree to go on a date with me?” he smirked, voice almost squeaking as a tease that made you slap his shoulder lightly
“Shut up. It doesn’t mean we’re friends, either.” you rolled your eyes again and slightly chuckling
“Sure we aren’t.” he teased again as you both kept walking, laughing in the end as you both started to properly get to know each other as time passed.

saudade
✿ pairing: woo seok x reader (female)
✿ word count: 1593
✿ genre: highschool!wooseok | angst?/fluff?
a/n: my first attempt at a sadder theme? not sure about the ending. regardless, hope you enjoy! request for more :) [bro this has literally been sitting in my drafts for who knows how long]
saudade: [noun]
a nostalgic longing to be near again to something or someone that is distant, or that has been loved and then lost; ‘’the love that remains’’
lack of sleep was evident in her eyes, her hair pulled together by an old elastic hair tie. her clothes smelt of salty tears and gym class odours. she barely even had a hint of light shining in her room, save for her alarm clock that flashed the time in a dark red. she knew it was pitiful she had her times of disconnection between herself and the world. often times she was bright and outgoing, but she would return to this persona she couldn’t quite control.
it had been three years, two years since she last saw his face. she remembered fondly the memories and times of laughter that came with that face. the times when they laid under the stars in his backyard together, the times he would drag her out of her home to loiter in the mall. they were teens experiencing their definition of love. no one to bother them, to get in the way.
obviously, that had changed when he disappeared, leaving nothing but a letter of his condolences. no reason to why he left, his parents not even giving her any hope. she came to the conclusion that he wasn’t coming back, and spent evenings on end finishing the ice cream stash waiting at the back of the freezer. for months she had shut anyone and everyone out, leading people to believe she had something wrong with her. lack of communication furthered that belief until she came to the revelation that she had to get her life together. her first love wasn’t going to ruin that for her.
so she did so, however, she had her instances of reverting to her older self. she never told anyone the reason why she even acted like that in the first place and explained that her partner had gone abroad. it was quite surprising they believed her, and she lived her life on that lie.
sometimes she would find herself strolling around their town, ending up in the places the pair would spend time together. she would always feel her heart warm with excitement, then fade when the realisation that he wasn’t beside her came about.
she still loved him, regardless of any denials she made to herself. it was too hard to let go of him, despite how easy it was for him to let go of her.
her parents weren’t the slightest worried about their daughter, something that was both a blessing and a curse. she enjoyed that fact they didn’t realise she left the home after dark to stroll around the neighbourhood, only to come back 4 hours before school started. she enjoyed that they didn’t realise that her grades slipped before she got her life back somewhat together but she hated the fact they didn’t care. maybe it was because she locked them out of her love life, shielding her tall boyfriend whenever she had him over.
so when one day they announced that they were moving to Seoul from their present home, she was purely against the idea. the fact that she wouldn’t be able to visit their memories daily upset her, but she couldn’t support herself. she didn’t even have a job yet, and she still had a year before she could graduate. even then, she’d need to apply for post-secondary because she didn’t have the slightest idea of where she wanted to go in life.
the only plan she had was to run away with him, but that was thrown out the window years ago.
so she complied, packing her things into a moving truck and setting off to their new home, passing by the town square before venturing out of the city.
“you’ll love it here! we even enrolled you in that nice school, you know, the ones where all those upcoming idol kids go to!” her mother exclaimed, helping her husband bring in the boxes. (y/n) on the other hand simply dragged her luggage up the stairs to her new room, at least it had a nice view.
she was starting school the next day, and she wasn’t excited at all. obviously, she could be a rebellious teen, skip the first day of class, but she knew she couldn’t. instead, she found herself grabbing her wallet. “i’m just going to go explore the new mall” she told her parents as she left the new home.
suddenly she found herself feeling a bit happier as she walked into a nice hair salon. she realised maybe getting a new haircut would make her a bit happier, maybe she was doing this for herself, or maybe it was for him. either way, she knew she needed a fresh start.
after hearing her mother call after her in the car, she quickly made her way into the new school, holding her books and papers like a somewhat typical school student. she wasn’t so much afraid, but shy at the new faces she would have to get used to. she avoided the gazes of others, pushing the door to the entrance and heading down what she assumed was the right hallway to the office.
unfortunately for her, she was entering the school midway into the semester. there was now 6 months of the remaining year. while she didn’t have to restart straight from the beginning, she needed to take some night school courses because of it.
she hurried to her first class, finding herself at the front of the class holding a slip out for the homeroom teacher. while his demeanour did not scream friendly, his soft eye smile made up for it.
she tried appearing happy for her mother’s sake, wearing a friendly smile on her features as she introduced herself briefly. where she came from, what she hopes to do, and so on.
“hopefully you’ll adjust easily. i’ll see if I can have someone be your buddy to help you get used to the school” he suggested, gesturing to an open desk. she felt the eyes of interested students, a few already over the fact they had a new student. she didn’t mind that, she really didn’t want to notice so much on her first day, especially since she didn’t want to relive the new student cliche.
“Mr. Jung, late again are we?” she heard the teacher call out. she didn’t dare glancing upward, placing her books on her desk and opening her books. after the class started, she only looked up at the board, trying to catch up. at least, her desk mate helped her with getting the notes.
his point of view.
maybe it was the hair, but she never changed in beauty. I didn’t realise at first, but I knew it was her. I thought it was imagination, but it was really here, sitting a few desks away from my own. I wasn’t even told about a new student, my seatmate gesturing her while commenting ‘she’s pretty but shy’
she wasn’t shy, at least from when I last saw her. she was an old soul trapped in a younger body, loud and never shy when it came to her unique laughter. what was she doing here? she had a future in our old town, why move here? for me to feel the guilt of leaving her slowly return back to me?
I doubt she would ever forgive me, the way I disappeared with the wind, so pathetic I could say goodbye face to face. maybe if things were different, I would’ve been able to stay.
there is a sense of regret, I still do feel it. even after time has passed, I still longed for a life with her by my side. I chose a chance at fame over an average life with her. would it be even considered average when it’s with her?
I want to make things right, I need to. it’s been too long.
(y/n) quickly gathered her things as she heard the bell ring, she needed all the time she needed in order to get to her next class. she hurried out the door, yelping as she was held back by a hand gripping her wrist.
“it’s been a while (y/n)” he called. the female winced as she let out a deep sigh. she shook her thoughts away as she hummed in response, “I’m sorry, I think you have the wrong person” she stated, trying to get out of his grasp.
“you realise that even after all these years I can still recognise you” he kept his hold on her wrist, afraid to let her go.
“I wish I could say the same, you’re not the same wooseok from back home” she spat out bitterly, “if you don’t mind, I’m running late for my next class”
he brought the female close to his chest, wrapping her in a large hug as he rested his chin on the crown of her head. she didn’t say a word, her hands gripping onto his long arms.
“I’ve been waiting so long to do this. Please don’t let this end” he whispered lowly, ignoring the stares of the other students who were passing by this exchange.
“As long as you don’t run away” she replied softly, her hand squeezing onto the fabric of his school blazer. she let a tear drop onto his pressed shirt, making the male soften at the feeling as a few more tears followed.
maybe it’s been too long, but it feels like it’s only been two minutes since I’ve held you this close. and hopefully, it’s the last time I stand against the world without you.

familiar face
pairing: jung wooseok x male reader word count: 1056 description: you run into a familiar face, although that face is a lot more handsome than when you last saw it. masterlist
It was a slow day in the florist shop where you worked, although you weren’t complaining. If you were being honest, your Tuesday morning shift was your favourite. Unlike the weekends and late afternoons you spent in the shop, your sole morning shift was typically quite unchallenging, silent for the most part with a small trickle of customers towards noon. Often you could get away with browsing social media your phone as you stood behind the till - as long as you didn’t push your luck and miss an opportunity to tend to a customer.
When the bell above the door tinkled at around ten-thirty, signifying a customer’s entrance, you returned your phone to the pouch in your apron very swiftly, hoping that they hadn’t seen you using it; that would’ve been very unprofessional. You looked up, intending to send the shopper a polite smile, but the outcome was more of a choked grimace. This man was handsome. Like, handsome-handsome. And tall. Did he have to duck to enter the store?
You wiped your palms on your trousers, suddenly finding them very sweaty - was it warmer in here all of a sudden? You watched cautiously as he browsed. The way his dark hair fell over his forehead when he leaned down to sniff a bunch of white lilies; the way his nose wrinkled when the scent seemed to be too overpowering for him. The way his skin stretched over his knuckles when he picked up a bouquet of varied pink flowers, carefully constructed by yourself the previous evening. You tried not to feel creepy. It wasn’t wrong to admire a beautiful stranger, right? You weren’t stepping over any boundaries - you were simply looking.
He seemed a little nervous, you noted. Maybe he was just shy. He greets you with a quiet, “Hi,” as he places the flowers on the counter.
“Just these?” you confirm, to which he nods. You begin to tap the keys on the till, ringing up his price. Though, when you raised your gaze to speak to him, you found yourself peering at him a little closer, squinting slightly. “I recognise you,” you stated.
“You do?” he asked, his lips parted slightly in surprise.
“Yeah,” you confirmed. “Yeah, we went to school together. You’re the one who used to Naruto run through the halls!”
His cheeks immediately develop a scarlet glow upon your identification of him, and you can’t help but chuckle. “I didn’t mean to embarrass you. I’m sorry. It’s no big deal, everyone does dumb stuff as a kid. As long as you aren’t still using Naruto running as a mode of transport?” He only laughs in response and you find yourself clarifying, “You aren’t, right?”
“No, no. Of course not.” He waves a hand of dismissal, still flaming bright red. He won’t meet your eyes, but there’s a smile on his face nonetheless.
You leaned your elbow on the counter, resting your chin on your fist and looking up at him. “I’m sorry, I don’t remember your name.”
“It’s Wooseok.” He blinked, and his eyelashes fluttered. You scolded your heart, which fought to flutter alongside them.
“Wooseok, that’s it,” you nodded. “And I’m-”
“-Y/N,” he finished for you. “I remember.”
“You do?” you asked him with a smile twisting your lips. “That’s impressive. I’m pretty sure we only had two classes together. Like, ever.”
“Three, actually.” He looked up to the ceiling as he corrected you, as though he were trying to remember. “Seventh-grade English, eighth-grade gym, and ninth-grade biology.”
“Wow,” you almost gasped. “Your memory is incredible.”
“Believe me, it’s not,” he laughed, scratching the back of his neck. It looked to you like it was a nervous tic, but you couldn’t know for sure - you barely knew the guy. He continued speaking, “I only remember because... ah, well,,, never mind.”
“No, what were you gonna say? I wanna hear,” you urged him, curiosity taking over.
Wooseok chuckled again. “I had a huge crush on you.”
Ah. That explained why he seemed so shy. Though so many years had passed, you knew how vividly fond memories could return. “That’s so sweet,” you hummed.
“It was a long time ago,” he said, as though he were brushing it off.
“Right,” you cleared your throat. “So, what’re you up to these days? Who are the flowers for?” You didn’t mean to pry. But the downside of these quiet Tuesday morning shifts was that they were dreadfully lonely. If a familiar face appeared, even just an old acquaintance, you could hardly blame yourself for catching up and making conversation.
“I’m a music producer.” You heard the pride in his voice; this must have been a lifelong dream of his. “Working on it, at least. And they’re for my mom. It’s her birthday.”
“A musician and a mama’s boy. Ninth-grade me could’ve done a lot worse, huh? If only I knew.” You were unsure what had come over you that was making you so forward. You couldn’t remember the last time you flirted with a guy, especially one as cute as Wooseok.
“Ah, come on,” he grinned shyly.
“No, really. You didn’t turn out all that bad,” you insisted with a smirk.
Wooseok ran a hand through his hair anxiously. “I could say the same about you.”
Combining his flushed cheeks, fidgeting hands and anxious gestures, it was easy to see how nervous he was. You didn’t mean to discomfort him, but you couldn’t deny how proud it made you feel to fluster such an attractive man.
“We should catch up some time,” you suggested hopefully.
He nodded, and your heart skipped a beat. “I’d like that.”
You plucked a message card from their holder on the counter and wrote down your number meticulously, conscious not to mess up a single number.
“Oh,” you gasped, remembering where you were suddenly. “That’ll be 19.99, by the way.”
“Right,” he commented, seeming as surprised as you were. He handed over the money, and you exchanged it with the bouquet before giving his change.
“I’ll see you soon,” he smiled, heading towards the exit of the shop.
“Bye, Naruto,” you called after him. In response, he stuck up a middle finger at you through the window as he departed, and you snickered. You didn’t think the shy boy would have that in him.

it’s okay, honey
pairing: jung wooseok x male reader word count: 611 description: you knew something was bothering wooseok, but you never would’ve guessed it was this. masterlist
You frowned. You and Wooseok had been planning this night all week, and it had all gone according to plan. You had strolled through the market, eaten countless snacks from the street vendors you had passed, and now the sky had grown dark, stars scattered across the night as you stood together by the river. It should have been perfect, but Wooseok had been acting strange all afternoon.
“Wooseok, there’s definitely something bothering you. Don’t even try and deny it,” you said with a sigh, standing in front of Wooseok and trying to catch his eyes.
He turned away instantly, and your heart dropped. “It’s not something I can talk to you about, Y/N.”
“How long have we been friends, Wooseok? You can talk to me about anything,” you told him sincerely. You reached for his hand, trying to link your pinkies as a comforting gesture, although he pulled away as soon as you made contact.
He shook his head. “Not this, Y/N. I don’t know how you’re going to react.”
“Nothing you can say is gonna jeopardise our friendship, Wooseok, I promise. If there’s something going on I want to help you.” You were consumed with worry, and you desperately wished for him to be okay. Wooseok said nothing, and you let out another sigh.
“Well then. We’re going to stand here in silence until you’re ready to tell me. I can wait all night, don’t worry. Whenever you’re ready.” You leaned your back against the railing behind you, looking away to let him prepare himself.
Wooseok placed his hands on the metal railing, looking out towards the river. Minutes passed before he spoke, his voice quiet. “I’ve been having these thoughts…” He paused, and you looked at him. You noticed that his eyes were darting quickly, and they glinted in the light from the nearby streetlamps. It was clear how much trouble he was giving himself, whatever this issue was. You waited patiently for him to continue. “Why is it so hard to breathe when you’re standing next to me, Y/N? Why am I feeling this way?”
You turned to face him. “Wooseok,” you whispered his name. “Do you like me?”
His voice came out strained, and he couldn’t meet your eyes. “I think I do.”
You caressed his cheek, stroking it with a swipe of your thumb. “What are you so worked up for, dumbass?” you asked with a smile.
“You’re my best friend in the world, Y/N. I don’t want to lose you… I’m sorry. I don’t know why this is happening.” Shame filled his voice, and it broke your heart in two.
“You aren’t going to lose me, Wooseok,” you told him, your voice comforting.
He let out a shaky breath. “Things will be different now, though.”
You rolled your eyes at how over-dramatic he was being. “Wooseok, did you ever ask me how I feel about you?”
He looked towards you again, confusion marring his features. “What?”
You placed your hand on his, rubbing circles on his skin. “I like you too, Wooseok,” you confessed.
“You do?” he asked in disbelief, his tears slowing.
“Yes, idiot. You have to make everything into a big deal, don’t you?” You laughed softly as you gave his hair a gentle ruffle.
He laughed along with you, sniffling gently. “Sorry.”
You smiled widely. “It’s okay, honey. Should we go for some ice cream?”
Wooseok nodded, a light blush dusting his cheeks. You held his hand, his long fingers engulfing your own. Even with slightly swollen eyes and tear tracks dancing down his cheeks, he was still the most beautiful boy you’d ever seen, and your heart thumped with joy.

my biggest fan - part 3
Pairing: basketball player! jung wooseok x reader
Summary: “My biggest fan is so cute.”
part 2 / part 4
“Someone please shut him up, he won’t stop talking about Y/N,” Hui whines as they listen to the boy ramble on and on. Even though the eight boys can’t take anymore of him talking about you, they find it endearing. He’s finally got the courage to talk to you.
“It’s been an hour, Wooseok,” E’Dawn sighs.
“Ah, just let him be. He’s never like this, so Y/N must be special,” Yuto chuckles.
“So does this mean you can talk to Y/N without a problem?” Hongseok questions and Wooseok hums, pondering it. He smiles and nods.
“Of course.”
“We’ll see how long this lasts,” Yanan smirks.
“What’s that supposed to mean?”
“It means I saw you running away from Y/N earlier.”
“I just forget I had something to do at that moment.”
“Uh huh.”
“Anyway, Y/N’s coming by during practice later.”
Jinho nods, waving the subject off. “It shouldn’t be a problem with the captain as long as you actually practice.”
“I will.”
“Don’t go hiding in the locker rooms when Y/N comes by,” Shinwon snickers.
“I won’t.”
“Jinho, tell us what happens, okay?” Yeo One asks and the older boy nods.
“Oh, look. It’s Y/N,” Kino grins, waving at you before calling you over. Wooseok’s eyes widen, panic arising in his chest. He gulps, looking anywhere that isn’t you.
“Hi!” You greet everyone before looking at the boy trying to discreetly hide behind Hongseok. You giggle. “Hi, Wooseok.”
“Oh, hey, Y/N. I didn’t even see you there.”
You raise an eyebrow, staring at him with amusement. He clears his throat and sits upright.
“Well, I just came by to say hi before I get going.”
“So soon?” Kino pouts and you chuckle, nodding.
“I have to get an assignment done before I can go to Wooseok and Jinho’s practice. He invited me himself, you know?”
“Did he now?” All nine boys turn to the boy with smirks and knowing looks. He glares at them before turning to you with a nervous smile.
“I did.”
“Y/N!”
“I’m coming! Bye, boys!” You wave and run off to your friend, allowing Wooseok to let out a sigh of relief.
“Wow, you really talked a lot to Y/N.”
“Shut up, E’Dawn.”
“I can already predict what’ll happen at practice,” Hui chuckles as they all smirk at Wooseok. He frowns, crossing his arms and looking away. Jinho pats him on the back and the two of them stand up.
“We better get going before Wooseok can no longer function from your teasing and Y/N’s good looks.”
“I hate all of you.”
“Let’s go, you punk.”
“Don’t do anything embarrassing in front of Y/N!” Yanan yells after them and the others snicker when they walk away. Wooseok groans and Jinho laughs, worsening his mood.
“Don’t let them get to you. I’m sure you’ll be fine.”
“The team’s as embarrassing as the boys.”
“There’s no winning for you in this, is there?”
“Not at all.”
Once stepping foot into the gym, the manager gets them right to work. They’re stretching and running laps before practice to warm themselves up. The captain pushes them further, punishing whoever slacks. Practice is harsh as usual, all of them pushing themselves over their limits. They play in teams while the manager takes notes in what they need to improve in. After the two games, they collapse onto the floor. They pant heavily and gulp down water at a record time.
“He’s scarier than the manager and she’s scary enough,” A fellow teammates groans, making the team laugh. The captain cracks a smile, getting into a better mood thanks to his teammates.
“Wooseok, your fans are becoming a problem,” Another teammate mumbles as they look over their shoulders during their break.
“He’s actually looking forward to only one person today. He doesn’t care about the others,” Jinho informs them and their jaws drop. They grow closer to the boy, making him sigh. They’re so nosy that it sometimes rivals people who gossip over a glass of wine.
“Is it that Y/N person?”
“Yes,” Jinho wiggles his eyebrows and they gasp, whispering amongst themselves. “Look, Y/N’s here.”
You stay by the bleachers, waving to the boys on the floor. Your cheeks turn bright red, a bit embarrassed by them all looking at you. That feeling goes away when the fans pushes you out of the way to get in their view.
“Hey, what do you think you’re doing?” Wooseok frowns, running over to you. The fans gasp, talking amongst themselves as he helps you up. You cower behind him, a bit afraid of their death glares. “It’s nice having you all here, but when you’re hurting someone, it’s not okay.”
“Wooseok,” You mumble, grabbing onto the back of his shirt.
“You wouldn’t want to be kicked out now, would you?” He asks them and they frantically shake their head. He chuckles and smiles. “And besides, you would miss out on Jae getting a little too hot and he takes his shirt off.”
They squeal, running over to him and he’s taken back by the attention. Wooseok smiles in triumph before turning to you. As soon as he meets your eyes, he grows flustered.
“A-Are you okay?”
“I’m fine, thank you,” You grin as the two of you sit down on the bleachers. “So was there any particular reason why you wanted me to come today?”
“N-No. I just wanted to make sure you were here to cheer me on, you know?”
“I’m always rooting for you even if I’m not here,” You chuckle and his eyes widening at your smile. He quickly looks away and uses his hands to cover his blush. “Wooseok, do I make you that nervous?”
“I’m not nervous.”
“Are you sure?”
“I’m very sure.”
“Then why won’t you look at me?”
“Reasons.”
“Can I know those reasons?”
Wooseok shakes his head, making you laugh.
“I’m sorry I didn’t come sooner. I missed a majority of your practice,” You mumble, pouting at him.
“You can make it up to me by going to my game tomorrow?”
“What if I don’t want to?”
“You, you don’t want to?”
He frowns, a small pout forming on his lips. You giggle, poking him in the arm to get his attention.
“Don’t worry, I’ll be there just for you.”

my biggest fan - part 2
Pairing: basketball player! jung wooseok x reader
Summary: “My biggest fan is so cute.”
part 1 / part 3
“So what you’re trying to tell us is that Y/N made you so shy and nervous yesterday that now, you’re refusing to ever speak with Y/N?”
Wooseok frowns and juts his lips out, nodding. Him and the boys sit in silence before they burst out into laughter over how adorable he is with this.
“It’s not funny!” He whines, crossing his arms.
“It kind of is though. Cool and tough Wooseok’s afraid of talking to his little crush,” Shinwon teases. “Who would’ve known?”
“Is Y/N that beautiful that it has you flustered?” Hui snickers, adding onto the embarrassment of the youngest.
“Yuto, help me,” Wooseok whines, turning to said boy. Yuto chuckles and crosses his arms, shaking his head.
“Sorry, but I can’t help you this time.”
“I think it’s a bit much, refusing to talk to Y/N. I mean isn’t that going to hurt Y/N’s feelings?” Hongseok pipes up.
“I think you’re being harsh, Wooseok,” Kino adds. The youngest lets out a groan of frustration, running a hand through his hair.
“Then, what should I do?”
The boys look at him, then at each other and back at Wooseok again. They all inhale and let out a big exhale at the same time before yelling at him. “TALK TO Y/N.”
“But I couldn’t even get a word out yesterday.”
They let out groans, complaining about how clueless he can be. Before a word of protest can come from Wooseok, the bell rings which signals for students to get to class. The boys split ways, Jinho and Wooseok go together and wave goodbye to the others. As they’re chattering about strategies for their future basketball games, they see a familiar face in the crowd.
“Hey, isn’t that-”
But Wooseok is already dashing away. Jinho sighs before turning to the boy far down the hall. “HEY, GET BACK HERE.”
Upon seeing that, you laugh and walk up to Jinho. He gives you a smile, catching up to the flustered boy and dragging him back by the collar. Wooseok yells for him to let go, cheeks flaring up as the two of them get closer to you.
Jinho pushes him forward and walks off to another area in the hall. He claims he’ll wait for him over there, but really, it’s to spy on you and Wooseok. You just didn’t need to know that. Wooseok stumbles a bit, nearly falling on top of you, but catches himself. You reach out to him, offering some support.
“It seems we always meet his way, Wooseok,” You giggle, talking about how he almost falls on top of you each time. You push him up, allowing him to stand up straight. Wooseok laughs nervously and scratches the back of his head.
“S-Sorry.”
“No, it’s okay!”
“A-Ah, here. Let me walk you to class to make it up to you.”
“You don’t have to, real-”
“But I want to!” He interrupts you.
“Okay, okay,” You laugh and he blushes, embarrassed by his random outburst. “You know, I think I’m pretty lucky to be walking with the famous Jung Wooseok.”
“Don’t put it like that,” Wooseok mumbles, waving it off.
“Well, it’s true. You’re half of the ultimate duo, the best on the basketball team.”
“I guess. Jinho’s the one who scores more of the points than I do in matches.”
“Don’t downplay your abilities, Wooseok. In my opinion, I think you’re the best one on the team and I’m not saying that because I’m your biggest fan. I truly mean that.”
“Cute and my biggest fan, what did I do to deserve Y/N?” He mumbles to himself.
“Hm, did you say something again?”
“Nothing, just, thank you.”
You giggle and nod. You walk in silence for a little bit as Wooseok tries to muster up the courage. He stops in his tracks which causes you to do the same. You look back at him and he bites his lip.
“Do you think you can drop by practice today?”
“Hm, what for?” You ask, tilting your head to the side.
“I-I want to see you.”
Now, it’s your turn to be flustered. You sheepishly nod, giving him a smile.
“Well, this is my class. You should get going to yours too, huh?”
His eyes widen, having forgotten that he needs to go to class himself. He looks around, then back at you.
“Which hall is this? Oh no, my homeroom teacher’s going to kill me if I’m late again!” He groans, running a hand down his face. You watch, amused before telling him to calm down. Upon hearing what hall you’re currently standing in, he sighs and whines. “But my class is on the other side of the school.”
“You were the one who wanted to walk me to class, silly.”
At that, Wooseok stops all of his rambling and blushes. “Well, it’s a chivalrous thing to do. I can’t leave you to walk alone, it’s dangerous.”
“Wooseok, this is a school. It’s not very dangerous.”
“You could’ve gotten hurt or something.”
“Well, I don’t think I’m going to get captured or something anytime soon.”
“You never know, that’s why I had to make sure and walk you all the way here,” He pouts, looking away.
“Well, thanks I guess,” You chuckle, looking down at your phone. “You really should get running now if you want to make it on time. You have about two minutes. Can you do it?”
“Of course, I can. My biggest fan believes in me, so it must mean I can.”
You smile and nod, waving at him as he dashes down the corridor. “BYE Y/N! DON’T FORGET ABOUT LATER TODAY, OKAY?”
“Pay attention to where you’re going! Don’t fall and I’ll see you later.”
“Don’t worry!” He turns back to look at you from around the corner. He gives you a smile and waves. Then, he disappears from your sight. You chuckle and shake your head.
“I could’ve sworn he said he wasn’t ever going to talk to me because of how nervous he gets when I do.”
