Heyy Jaime!!
I wanted to ask that how would tatemae men react is their wives started to treat their husbands ,how they have been treating them not that I think any off the wives would stoop that low but just to give them taste of their own medicine
For eg
If shiza started to act paranoid calling yoongi a gazillion times if he is late tracking his location not letting him go anywhere without security being totally unreasonable
N in jhs case when jhs starts complaining about jung family Dany would tell him 'uk your family isn't as bad as u portray them to be i my opinion u r being ungrateful '
Rei would start being cling , possessive , overprotective, obsessive ,probably pull some hair and scratch some ladies faces if they try to flirt with pjm
For jjk aiera would just stop talking make the relationship just for sex other than that doesn't give a fuck about jjk
Idk about kth n knj
henlo. oh, they would be totally outraged.
imagine kaiho!jjk being treated as a mere sex toy. just imagine his expression when after they do the 'do', azumi just gets off the bed like nothing happened and after wearing her clothes, she casually walks out not even giving him a second glance while he is laying on the bed, still trying to catch his breath, questioning himself if maybe he went wrong somewhere, maybe he wasn't a good enough lover.
i mean yeah, like at first he wouldn't catch on azumi's intentions so fast because he would think that it was about sex and that he was not able to satisfy her but then he notices other small details. like she does not greet him anymore when he comes back from work, she is cold, she rarely replies to any of his attempts at conversation with more than a monosyllabic response. i feel like he wouldn't be angry at first because this is all new to him, he's never been treated like this. his parents have always loved him and praised him for his intellect at investigative skills and physical prowess (which has allowed him to rise in ranks so fast). he has always been the better son in their eyes. he has never even been criticized before so imagine being given the punishment before even getting to hear the criticism? you get my point?
i feel like the whole time, he would just be the surprised pikachu meme. trying his hardest to get azumi to talk to him, changing the way he talks or carries himself which he thinks might have offended azumi so like he is trying his best cause he is never been put in such a situation. oh what a time to live.

for enouement!kth, imagine if every time our resident dr tae casually mentions how he is better at some certain skill and tanaz just agrees. like she puts on a big smile on her face, like those ear-to-ear creepy smiles and praises him instead of scorning. "no one is better than my husband" "darling i always knew you were the best!" needless to say, he (and we, too) would be shit scared at the expression. and tanaz ever so changes her voice when she sings those praises. it's not like she is just saying them, no no, she is singing praises like a sweet little bird. it's creepy, it makes his skin crawl cause wtf, what is this supposed to mean? at first tae would think it's just a game to maybe get under his skin so he keeps his composure and does not react much to avoid giving her the upper hand but soon he realizes that this isn't a game. this is for real and tanaz never tires to do it to the point that kth stops ever mentioning anything self-praising in nature but tanaz does it instead. every night taehyung comes back home, she turns on like a broken record about how he is such a great surgeon, how there is no one like him in the entire nation. at times, kth is scared that he will wake up one night feeling some weight on him and he will wake up to see tanaz with that creepy ass smile sitting on his chest with a knife to his neck as she slits his throat.
don't ask me why it turned into a horror movie script.

in case of nodus tollens!pjm, he would be the fastest one to react. like he just cannot even take the idea of rei being clingy. he fell in love with her tsundere nature but this clingy person that jumps him every chance she gets? it's like he does not even know her. never in a million years would pjm would have known that rei can have a clingy, obsessive side too. it bothers him to the point where he just has probably a verbal outrage. asking her why she is behaving this way, what's wrong with her? is it something he did? and she just smiles sweetly like those slice of life anime MCs and questions him 'wdym babe?' and that hits pjm. is he wrong? so rei acting like this is okay? but he feels so suffocated, so... closed in a box when he is used to being free as a bird. what crosses the line for him is when he takes rei out to a restaurant for a nice dinner and the entire night rei just glares at the waitress, to top it off she fights with the lady who never even looked at pjm the entire night but rei kept mentioning to her husband that the waitress is trying to get a piece of him and he is all "woman where?!" he had to physically restrain rei and remove her from the restaurant, carrying her fighting figure and stuffing her in the car while she kept proclaiming that the bitch waitress was going to get it someday soon. he is scared. he is scared for his life.
Tumblr media
i feel like the best way to get back at adronitis!knj would be aria acting dumb. like one day she is teaching moon basic maths while namjoon is having breakfast before uni and she explains the simple addition wrong. how can anyone go wrong there? but aria does and she does not fix the mistake, instead she moves on to other equation. and knj is stupefied as he just stares at her with a mouthful of cereal. after a while aria turns to him and reminds him that he is going to be late for his morning class. it is like a fever dream for knj and he just heads to uni trying to forget what just happened. when he comes back home after work, he just casually mentions some experiment that he is conducting and aria just looks at him like "what will that achieve?" knj feels weird but hesitantly explains the purpose to her to which again aria goes "i don't think i understand any of that" and it's something that knj himself has taught to aria in one of his classes during her masters. he just stops whatever he was doing and just goes blank when his head snaps towards his wife when she mentions to moon while they were playing that moon is going to become an arts major. NO KID OF NAMJOON IS GOING TO BE AN ARTS MAJOR. he is literally in the biggest dilemma of his life and is unable to even function normally in day-to-day life. knj-not-functioning.exe
Tumblr media
man, psychomacy!jhs would be frothing at the corners of his mouth at hearing "your family is fine, it's you who needs to be more grateful" from dany one random night when jhs comes back tired from work and mentions how much responsibility his parents are constantly dumping on him. he stays quiet but dany goes on, "i mean they literally made you who you are. you would have nothing without their money, support, family business to take over." the phrase "nothing" spins around his mind like a windows xp screensaver. he opens his mouth to say something but momentarily closes it again, unable to even form sentences. but our dany goes on "i am so glad hyuk has them for his grandparents, they knew we were incompetent parent and always helped us raise him into the young little man that he is. i cannot wait for hyuk to follow in his grandfather's and his father's footsteps to take over the throne of jung corporation." i feel like jhs would just quit lol and try and open his own business and then dany would taunt him with the fact that he is nothing without seokjin's generous investment in this new business venture. i mean jhs' blood is just boiling at being questioned at every step. he doesn't know what to do? what can he do to become enough for his wife and son? enough by himself and not as a jung?
Tumblr media
10/10 liberosis!myg will end up breaking his phones almost every other day that shiza bothers him with her incessant calls and texts. he is so swamped by her spams that he never gets to chance to ask how she is doing, if she is safe. it's all: has he eaten? is he safe? the next client meeting that he is going, has the place been vetted by an expert? what if some ex-gang member holding a grudge against him tries off him? what if they hijack his car and kidnap him for ransom? what if they torture him for putting them behind the bars? what will shiza do then? every question is suffixed with a narcissistic concern; what will shiza do if any of that were to happen? what will happen to shiza? how will she navigate this lonely life then? and it's all yoongs' fault if he dies cause of his work and leaves shiza alone. it's all his fault and the victim is 100% shiza and not him. it's all about how she will survive in this cruel world.

slams card on table for anything with taeju and angst
Dream
Pairing: Jung Tae-ju x reader
Genre: Angst
Summary: After an argument with your boyfriend, you feel a bit lonely. That's why you decided to look for him. And soon you found him.
Requested?: Yes
Warnings: angst, death, blood, suicide
A/n: MY HEART ;-;
Tumblr media
-------------------------------------------------
- I'm trying to solve the problem like an adult! But you obviously can't. - Tae-ju said in a raised voice.
- I can't? I'm worried about you idiot! If you can't respect what I'm doing for you, there is a door.
He looked at you with a cold, sad look. He scoffed which really surprised you and he went to get his things from his room. It was really happening? You have been together for so many years. He has a pretext and is getting out?
You opened the window and lit a cigarette. You were supposed to quit this crap, but this situation was a little overwhelming for you.
A small tear ran down your cheek and you quickly wiped it off so as not to look even more pathetic. You finished a cigarette and you went back to the room where he packed his things efficiently.
- I don't want to believe that it comes to you so easily...
- Easily? If it weren't for you, this conversation wouldn't have happened at all.
He left the room with two large bags and looked around the house.
- I'll come back for the rest later.
You let the tears form in your eyes. His smooth expression, perfect features. It was driving you crazy. You knew Tae-ju and you knew that despite his expression, he hid different emotions under his face. You knew it had to be that way too. But the thought of that unwavering face... you couldn't bear it.
He put on his coat and looked at you one last time.
- If you need me... you know where I'll be.
- Sure, go suck your boss's dick! I'm sure you care more about him...
From the door, his gaze fell on you. He wanted to say something.
- Go.
The tension receded and he left, surprisingly not slamming the door. You closed them quickly, and fell to the ground, knees to your chest. You ran your hands around your knees and rested your head on them.
You let more tears flow from your eyes. You just got rid of the biggest problem and the most important person in your life. You wailed, thinking how much you lived with each other. Thinking how much has happened in your world because of him. Now you were just gritting your teeth, feeling a sharp pain in your heart. You felt sick.
You had some harder quarrels with him. It happened once before that he had moved out. However, after some time, he finally returned. Even though he hadn't had any contact with you all week, you had to hold on somehow.
However, despite the attempts, it was not that easy. Many times you ended up sitting at night looking at photos of you and him. You spent many nights thinking how lonely your bed seems without him. And how dark your life seems without him.
More and more you started to torment yourself and want Tae-ju's presence to give color to your life again. No wine, beer or whiskey was able to let you forget or feel better. Only his presence was able to help you now.
So you were looking. You could check the places where you felt reluctant to be. You could have looked for him in his favorite parts of the city. But deep down you knew where he could be right now.
- Tae-ju!
No answer.
- Tae-ju! Are you here?
You entered the room turning on the light. You dropped your phone to the ground. Tae-ju in a white shirt, slightly disheveled hair lying in the middle, with a knife stuck in his stomach. Dead.
You walked over to him slowly, trying to convince yourself that it was just a bad dream. That this was not happening. That the mind is playing hard with you. You bent over him and after a while you fell to your knees.
It wasn't a dream. You knew very well it wasn't a dream. You looked at the unconscious man with tearing pain in your chest. Looking so peaceful. So calm with a knife stuck in the stomach.
Regret and inexorable despair tremble in your body. Think you will never talk to him again. You will never go for a walk in the evening. You will never be able to hold his hand in a difficult moment. You will never help him heal his wounds. You will never be able to practice self-defense with him. You will never have the opportunity to stand in front of the altar and say "yes" to the only man you loved.
Tears stream down your eyes as you clenched your hands on his shoulders. This couldn't be happening. This couldn't be fucking happening! You felt uncomfortable looking at his dead eyes. Dead, cold gaze drilling a hole in the ceiling.
You fell to your knees, the salty drops spreading more and more over your face. You haven't even had a chance to say goodbye to him. The last words were intended to kick him out of your house. You would be willing to pay an unimaginable price to live with him again. So that you could listen to his lousy arguments and even argue. If only he was with you again.
You placed a gentle kiss on his still quite warm lips. It must have happened recently. But it didn't change the fact that the man was no longer alive. One of the tears fell on his cheek as you stared at his calm, lifeless face. He won't come back. Never.
You were kneeling over his body. You sobbed. You couldn't help yourself. Bitter tears streaming down like a waterfall. Your vision glazed more with each moment you looked at your unconscious lover. Happiness rotting like stale food. A heart that is overgrown with moss and rock, closing itself to the whole world. At that point, nothing mattered anymore. You've been lonely for so many years. Then you met him. The man who completely changed your life. You were together so close that you became very close to him. Too hard to forget about him now. Too hard to live without him now. You could have tried to go on living with therapy, trying to forget. But it didn't make sense. Life without your Tae-ju... had no color anymore. And nothing will give it to it. No dream has been able to be so beautiful that it can cure your despair.
You had your handy knife with you, which you always carried in case something happened to you. If someone had told you a month ago that this knife was going to take your life, you wouldn't have believed it. And now. The only thing it could do was cut your throat.
The blade touched the soft skin, gleaming with a gleam of despair. Hesitation passed through your head. Yet seeing the guy of your life lying dead in front of you shattered your inhibitions. Swallowing hard, you gripped the knife and pulled it boldly. Pain mixed with a slight shock filled your body. Yet the pain was no match for the despair because of a dead lover.
You lay down next to the man's dead body, sobbing. Blood spurting freely from your throat, staining the floor. You stared blindly at Tae-ju with teary eyes, as if waiting for a miracle. But it was too late. For both of you.
As time went on, the waning of blood took its toll on you more and more. With the last of your strength, you grabbed Tae-ju's still hand while looking at him. A gentle smile forms on your face. Unusual hurt smile. And your eyes didn't change direction even for a moment. Now it was just you and him and certain death. A death you couldn't avoid. A death you didn't want to avoid. Death was approaching every second. Two bodies covered with dark red, lying limply on the ground. His eyes were on the ceiling and yours were on him. And the blood continued to flow. Like your tears, like a waterfall. The whole thing was accompanied by despondency that pours the chest. Now you could only dream of seeing him alive again. To dream to laugh in his company. Dream to hear the last I love you. To dream that this would not be the end. But these are only dreams. Dreams that had no right to exist. However, you didn't have to dream about being with him in the last moments of your life. It wasn't a dream anymore. It was a reality that, like your life, began to blur. The only thing you could regret was it wasn't all one big dream.

imagining things | after sex
pair: jung tae ju x reader
show: my name
genre: mention of sexual activity
it was late at night and your bedroom was flooding, all that was on the floor you placed on a higher place to avoid getting it wet.
your face was dripping wet too, the hair on your face and parts of your robe was damp too.
you step closer to the door of your bathroom to see the man who came here dry and hair slicked back, was now in the same predicament as you were.
with his hair down, he looks at you— a mixture of disappointment and tiredness laced his gaze.
" how did you manage to break your sink even,,,"
he asked, borderline thankful that now at least the water wasn't spraying at his face like earlier.
you step inside the bathroom, kneeling beside him and pathing his thigh— innocent smile was hiding an embarrassing back story of how the sink broke.
and he saw it, he looked so done with your antics that he didn't even bother asking again, instead he made sure the bolt wasn't to tight so it wouldn't crack the pipes.
you watched him do his work, your hands starting to roam the wet fabric that stuck to his skin.
" you should really teach me how to do this, so i wouldn't have to call anyone for it."
you whispered to his ear— gentle whispers turned into kisses on the neck, kisses turned into licking until he finally turned his his face for his lips to take yours.
your hands already made itself busy by unbuttoning his shirt, his hands abandoning his previous task to pull your head closer to his, deepening the kiss by tilting his head.
but before you both could go far enough, he pulled away breathlessly.
" you come up with very interesting reasons for me to come here,,,"
you giggle, taking off your robe to reveal nothing but your underwear that you picked specially for his arrival. the robe you wore was now on his head, drying his wet locks.
" you're imagining things."
with the robe, you pulled him in for another kiss.

Gay Characters in Kdramas: The Good, The Bad, and The Mediocre
Gay characters rarely show up in Korean dramas. Though there have been a few characters over the years,  In terms of representation, the characterization and stories of these characters are usually nothing to write home about, but I figured, why not write about it anyway? Here’s my watch and don’t watch list, if you’re looking for gay characters in kdramas.
Warning for spoilers galore!
The Mediocre (these aren’t bad, but they’re not the best either)
Lily Fever (2015)
Tumblr media
The Story: Kyung Ju heads to her friends house one day to find her missing passport. She finds Se Rang instead.
Should You Watch?: Sure. This show is quirky and just downright odd. The ending leaves a lot to be desired and the story itself is kind of all over the place, but it’s cute, it’s funny, it’s short, most of it’s nonsense, and the girls have lots of chemistry. It’s only a bonus that Se Rang is a standout character of this show. You’ll probably fall for her yourself by the end of the webseries.
The Lover: Joon Jae and Takuya (2015)
Tumblr media
The Story: Different couples live together in an apartment building. The show shows us snippets of their lives. Joon Jae’s life gets turned upside down when he meets his new roommate Takuya.
Should You Watch?: Hmmm...yeah. I started watching this show expecting it would showcase the typical Korean bromance between the guys. The kind where the show makes it seem like the guys might have feelings for each other, but the show just skirts around the topic entirely. In the first few episodes, that’s exactly what happened between Joon Jae and Takuya (with a lot of sex jokes and penis jokes thrown in for good measure. That’s actually what most of the show is). But the show eventually, actually, went there. Joon Jae and Takuya don’t get a whole lot of screen time, but when they do, we get to see some serious feelings thrown in with all the crass humor, and Joon Jae and Takuya do admit to having feelings for one another. The ending could have been a little better, but it was a happy one, so baby steps.
Perseverance Goo Hae Ra: Jang Goon (2015)
Tumblr media
The Story: A group of rag tags come together to form a band. Jang Goon joins the band and meets their manager Tae Poong who he’s had a crush on for years.
Should You Watch?: Only if you’re interested in the rest of the show. Jang Goon has a fairly interesting storyline. He has a friend who accepts him after finding out about his crush and he has to rebuild bridges with his father who doesn’t accept him doing music (and Jang Goon’s scared he wont accept his being gay either). But Jang Goon’s storyline is such a small part of the story it wouldn’t be worth it to skip through to only his parts.
Daughters of Club Bilitis (2011)
Tumblr media
The Story: A one episode drama detailing the lives of four lesbian couples.
Should You Watch?: I watched this so long ago, I honestly don’t remember a single shred of what happened in it, but I’ll say yes, watch it. Because there are so few lesbians in asian dramas you have to watch the one’s that exist. The entire show is about lesbians, so I  mean, why not?
Reply 1997: Jun Hee (2012)
Tumblr media
The Story: The lives of a group of high school students in the year1997. Jun Hee has a crush on his friend Yoon Jae.
Should You Watch?: Yes and no. The Reply Series (Reply 97/94/88) are pretty good dramas after all. They’re great for nostalgia, family, friendship, and the like, but if you’re here solely for the gay? Probably not worth the time. Jun Hee’s a side character. We see him crushing on Yoon Jae and he confesses his feelings to Yoon Jae and another friend, but there’s not too much more than that.
Seonam girls high school investigators: Eps 11-12 (2014)
Tumblr media
The Story: High School girls investigate and solve problems in their school. The show is episodic and in these two episodes the girls attempt to help Su Yeon and Eun Bin who have to hide their relationship from their classmates.
Should You Watch?: Yes. I honestly don’t remember much about this one either, but I do remember it being decently done. This show caused a lot of controversy years ago when it aired Korea’s first lesbian kiss ( probably korea’s first same sex kiss period that was a legitimate kiss and not used for laughs). It’s worth checking out to see what caused all the ridiculous uproar.
Wise Prison Life/Prison Playbook: Han Yang (2017)
Tumblr media
The Story: Big time baseball player Kim Je Hyuk turns into a crimanal overnight. After he’s convicted, he has to face his new life in prison. He meets some interesting people in prison. Among them is the drug addict Han Yang.
Should You Watch?:  Yes, because the story itself is a really interesting take about a man who goes to prison, meets a lot of different, people, and ultimately makes new friends/family. If you’re just watching for the gay? I’d still have to say yes, despite the fact that Han Yang doesn’t get the happy ending he deserved. Han Yang was one of my favorite characters in this show. I don’t know how he managed it, but I swear Han Yang got funnier as the episodes passed. I was really endeared towards him attempting to kick his drug habit while also trying to salvage his relationship with his ex-boyfriend Ji Won. He had such an interesting story arc, was such an entertaining character, and I didn’t feel like the show ever made fun of him for being gay. This character was just such a joy to watch, I definitely don’t regret watching, even though I wanted more.
Moment at Eighteen: Jung Oh Je  (2019)
Tumblr media
The Story: Transfer student Jun Woo has no interest in school life, as he is traumatized from being expelled from bullying. Meanwhile, Soo Bin has been watching Jun Woo all this time. She sees a different side to Jun Woo than the one that other people see. Oh Je, is Jun Woo’s best friend who starts to discover his sexuality.
Should you watch?: Hmmm… sure. Oh Je has a decent side plot. It was interesting to see him figuring out he liked Hwi Young and coming out to his ex girlfriend and his friends. I do wish his story was expanded a little more though. There were several things I would have liked to have seen, like coming out to his family, and I thought they wrapped his story up a little too quickly at the end.
Love with Flaws: Won Suk and Ho Dol (2019)
Tumblr media
The Story:  Joo Seo Yeon, is a hot-tempered physical education high school teacher who always wears sneakers, jeans and training uniforms.  The death of her parents helped instill a deep sense of compassion, a generous heart and an outspoken objection for anyone who drinks and drives. Living in a house with three wild and very attractive brothers, she loathes flower boys. Her ideal type is someone who is “not handsome.” Won Suk is one of her handsome older brothers.
Won Suk has closed his heart to relationships and love, but he lives his life as an openly gay man. Ho Dol is closeted and lacks confidence. They meet one night at Won Suk’s bar.
Should you watch?: People have been kind enough to condense Won Suk’s and Ho Dol’s  story into parts on YouTube so yeah, go ahead and check it out.
These two don’t get a whole lot of screen time, but the little they do get is nice. We get to see Won Seok help Ho Dol open up and be more confident with who he is and in turn, Won Seok opens up his heart.
The Bad (you probably shouldn’t waste your time on these ones)
Personal Taste: Director Choi (2010)
Tumblr media
The Story: This dramas about a straight guy who pretends to be gay in order to gain access to the blueprints of a woman’s house…or something like that. Director Choi’s specific story revolves around his attempts at courting that guy.
Should You Watch?: Absolutely not. Half of the time the drama equates being a gay man to automatically being feminine, a woman, or not a “real man”. Director Choi is also a good deal older than the male lead and makes several attempts at courting him even though he’s not interested. It kind of came off as the “creepy old gay perv” and that didn’t sit well with me.  I suppose you could skim through the drama to watch Director Choi’s scenes. If sad gay men Is your thing. I just felt bad for the guy most of the time.
Ho Gu’s Love: Kang Chul (2015)
Tumblr media
The Story: Ho Gu’s a pushover, a fool, and kind of an idiot. He meets his old classmates and things get a complicated. One day in High School Kang Chul meets Ho Gu’s twin sister and mistakes her for Ho Gu. They spend the day together and she kisses him.  The kiss sparks feelings in Kang Chul. Of course Kang Chul thinks it was Ho Gu who kissed him and years later, when he meets Ho Gu his feelings grow stronger.
Should You Watch?: Yes? Maybe? If you really want to, but mostly…no. With this, I expected that the typical drama set up would happen. Similar to all gender benders, Kang Chul would find out that it wasn’t Ho Gu he kissed. So any feelings he was having for him would immediately get swept under the rug where we could all pretend we never knew his heart fluttered for another man. Imagine my surprise when episode after episode passed and that didn’t happen. We got down to the last few episodes and Kang Chul had admitted to himself that he liked Ho Gu, he came out to his parents, and his coworkers assumed he was gay. The show was actually depicting the struggles of being gay in Korea and it was arguably one of the better storylines for a gay character on Korean t.v., but then the show couldn’t stay strong and they flipped the script. Predictably, Kang Chul finds out it was Ho Gu’s sister he kissed, the show copped out, and lo and behold Kang Chul was straight with no further mentions of any other possible sexuality. Watch it if you’re curious, but be prepared to be extremely disappointed by the end.
Graceful Family: Mo Wan Joon  (2019)
Tumblr media
The Story: Blah blah blah, revenge or something- at a point it’s revealed that Mo Wan Joon is a trans woman.
Should you watch?: If you really like revenge melos maybe, but if you’re looking for this show to do something good and offer up some good trans rep? Nope.
Literally nothing about Mo Wan Joon’s story is watchable. I wasn’t even entirely sure the show even knows what being transgender even means. It comes off as more of a plot twist to put the family all in a tizzy more than anything else. They don’t really show much of Wan Joon’s struggle or anything poignant or engaging.
Sweet Munchies: Tae Wan (2020)
Tumblr media
The Story: Jin Sung pretends to be a gay chef to film a tv show for money. Tae Hwan, a closeted fashion designer falls for him.
Should you watch?: No. "Everyone loved Personal Taste right? What if we just did that again but with a chef this time?"  This could have been potentially groundbreaking, but by the end of the show the two leads are unlikable and  we just wind up with more sad gay tears. But Lee Hak Joo as Tae Wan? *Chef's kiss*. This man put me through the wringer and he does it so subtly. If you must watch, literally skim through Tae Wan’s parts.
The Good (these are worth the hours of your life you wont get back)
Painter of the Wind (2008)
Tumblr media
The Story: Shin Yoon Bok is a talented painter who disguises herself as a boy to search for her father's murderer and meets a master painter who guides her into being a great painter. Kim Hong Do is the man who teaches Yoon Bok how to paint, and they develop a strong friendship of mentor and disciple.
Should You Watch?: Yes. On the surface this sounds pretty straight, but ignore the summary, because yes there’s a loveline between Yoon Bok and her mentor, but the most interesting story here is the loveline between Yoon Bok and a Gisaeng she meets named Jeong Hyang I’ve seen plenty of gender benders, but I’ve never seen one where a woman falls in love with the girl who’s pretending to be a boy. This drama isn’t technically supposed to be gay, but it’s extremely gay when when bisexual Yoon Bok hits on the gisaeng the first time they meet. Yoon Bok finds herself falling in love with the Jeong Hyang too and the love between them comes off as extremely genuine and sincere. I don’t care what that show was trying to tell me, Yoon Bok/Jeong Hyang was the true otp.
Life is Beautiful: Tae Sub and Kyung Soo (2010)
Tumblr media
The Story:  A family drama about a blended family. The show focuses heavily on Tae Sub and his boyfriend Kyung Soo
Should You Watch?:  Absolutely. In this drama we actually get to see a same sex couple. There’s not just one gay character or a situation where you have to read between the lines. Tae Sub and Kyung Soo are a gay couple who get to be together and happy and they get screentime! The show focuses on Tae Sub coming out to his family, his family's acceptance/non-acceptance, and Kyungsoo’s family’s non-acceptance as well. We get to see the guys work through their problems together and we get to see how they’re relationship changes and grows. My only complaint about this show is that it aired seven years ago and korea has shown little to no progress in terms of lgbt characters and couples in kdramas since.
Rural Outcasts (2019)
Tumblr media
The Story: Sun Hui moves to a small village where she lives her life as Soon Ho until she can make enough money to become her true self. Dong Ja, a feisty 12 year old, breaks into her house one day.
Should you watch? Yes, although, heads up, there’s a cis man playing a trans woman. Found family always makes for a heartwarming story and this one is no different. I loved the bond between Dong Ja and Sun Hui and I loved their mother daughter relationship. Very sweet and heartwarming, but be prepared for some heartbreak too.

(yoonseok) - trust my heart when it beats for you
ao3: (x)
Summary: Jung Hoseok has had an awkward Thing for Min Yoongi for four years of his school life. He is certain that the only thing that gets in the way of them and everlasting love is the fact that Min Yoongi doesn't know he exists, but that all changes due to one drunken text message: a pick-up line. Ready to flee to another country under a false identity in mortification, he finds himself ruining their blossoming friendship and confessing when Yoongi asks why Hoseok had tried to flirt with him. However, things take a turn after his confession when Yoongi starts to (awkwardly) flirt back.
Pairings: Yoonseok, Taekook and Namjin
Chapters: (1), (2), (3), (4), (5), (6), (7), (8), (9)
Chapter Ten -  it's a game of words but, baby, i'd always put you first
“You’re kidding!” Taehyung yelled in his ear the next day. The two were hanging around Taehyung’s bedroom with the radio blaring. Hoseok was sitting at the foot of Taehyung’s bed, his crossed legs were balancing a bowl of crisps, while Taehyung moved from his side to pace around the room. “He said that to you!? Min Yoongi?” He let out a burst of slightly hysterical laughter which Hoseok related with on every level.
Taehyung collapsed dramatically onto the floor without warning and threw a hand over his forehead. “I can’t go on anymore.” Hoseok laughed and threw a crisp at him which landed rather impressively in Taehyung’s mouth, he nearly choked. He sat up and spoke, whilst chewing, his voice was tinted with disbelief: “I can’t imagine how you must be feeling.”
“I’ve been living on Cloud Nine ever since yesterday,” Hoseok attempted to put his giddy feelings into words. “You should have seen him, Tae. He looked so nervous, like he was scared of me, but then he comes out and says it bluntly. He’s so cute, and adorable, but deadly. Maybe he actually did kill me, and I’ve just dreamt it all in the flashback of my life.”
Taehyung crawled over to him to nab a few chips, there was a bright smile written on his face. “Maybe he killed me, too, and I’m dreaming with you. Though, if it were my dream, Jeongguk would be here and we would be holding hands-”
“-Or sucking dick,” Hoseok quipped with a playful smile on his face. Taehyung raised an eyebrow and smirked causing Hoseok to let out a ripple of loud laughter. “Speaking of, you know for certain that Jimin isn’t dating him, are you gonna make a move?”
Taehyung cocked his head, considering it, before scoffing. “Nope.” Hoseok pouted in response, flicking a crisp into Taehyung’s hair. “Gross, you’ve left crumbs. Anyway, I’m not gonna make a move because, first: he just broke up with his girlfriend who he’s been dating for almost a year – I checked his Facebook – and secondly, he’s probably straight. Thirdly, we’ve never talked, ever. I’ll only make a move if we all hang out and I get signals from him.”
Hoseok considered this, leaning against the wall. He blew upwards, making his fringe ruffle, this seemed to stir something in his mind as he recalled a memory: lunch time on Tuesday. “I don’t think you’ll be waiting that long, Tae,” he started and then began explaining what he had seen in the canteen. “It just kinda looked like he had been dared to... I don’t know, walk in your direction or something, and he did it. He circled around the canteen and then walked back to their table. Then Namjoon and Yoongi applauded him sarcastically and he looked kinda sad.” Taehyung frowned at him and then gestured for Hoseok to continue.
“That’s it.” He was regretting saying anything now, it was rather pathetic. “It doesn’t sound like much, but Yoongi looked up at me after saying something to Jeongguk, so maybe they were talking about what he had just done.”
Taehyung looked painfully confused. “I don’t get what you’re saying.”
Hoseok sighed in defeat and ate the last chip out of the bowl. “Never mind. I don’t really know what to make of it. Jus, to me, it looked like Jeongguk liked you and they dared him to go near you, maybe even to talk to you, but he was too shy so he walked past you and that’s why they were being sarcastic.”
This conclusion seemed to have changed everything. Taehyung drew himself up, a hopeful smile danced across his face. “So, what you’re saying is that Jeongguk might like me.” Just as the words had escaped his mouth he deflated. He threw his head onto Hoseok’s lap, knocking the bowl onto the floor. “I’m not even gonna get my hopes up.”
Hoseok patted his head and then laced his hand through Taehyung’s hair in a consoling motion. He picked up his phone with his free hand and read his latest notification. He snorted in laughter, releasing Taehyung to open his phone and type out a reply.
“Who are you talking to?” Taehyung asked, lifting his head to peer around Hoseok’s phone to look at the screen. “Ah, of course, I should have known,” he rolled his eyes but his smile gave him away, “look at you, leaving your best friend to talk to lover boy. I see how it is.”
“I’m not abandoning you,” Hoseok explained, smiling and pushing Taehyung’s head away from his phone. Taehyung crawled up onto the bed and sat next to him. “Look, Yoongi said he could eventually like me, right? So, I’m asking him questions to get to know him better and he’s doing the same.”
“It’s like you’re selling yourself,” Taehyung commented dryly, tilting his head until it was placed on Hoseok’s shoulder. “What are you even talking about anyway?” Without warning, he had grabbed Hoseok’s phone and was scrolling upwards, Hoseok protested but Taehyung pushed him away laughing. “Oh my god, you’re doing one of those question sheets, that’s adorable! Did you get it offline?”
Hoseok blushed but hid it in his protestations. He eventually succeeded in managing to prise the phone off of Taehyung. “You sound just like him – and, no, I made it myself.” He settled down on the bed again and went back to texting.
Taehyung cooed. “That’s even more adorable! What are you talking about now?” Hoseok eyed him warily and shielded his phone from Taehyung’s prying eyes. Taehyung tilted his head backwards and laughed. “Oh, come on, it can’t be that special!” Still, Hoseok didn’t answer him. “Have you ever talked about me?”
Hoseok snorted, practically burying himself into the screen of his phone. “The world doesn’t revolve around you. Maybe we have better things to talk about.”
His smug attitude couldn’t last long, not around Kim Taehyung. Said boy moaned in complaint and splayed himself on the bed, laying his head onto Hoseok’s lap again. “Please, tell me! What do you say about me?”
Hoseok sighed in mock-annoyance, and went to play with strands of Taehyung’s hair. “Nothing much, I ask him stuff about his friends and he asks about mine. He’s interested in the people I like, like you, always asks how you are and stuff.”
“What? Just me?” Taehyung questioned, his eyes wide.
Hoseok chewed his cheek as he pretended to rack his brain. “Yeah, now I think about it, it’s mostly just you. We talked about your music taste once, and then he asks how you’re doing, he asks if any of my friends are dating anyone, just the general stuff.” He tried to sound disinterested.
Taehyung cocked an eyebrow. “Weird. Maybe it’s me he likes, not you.” He poked Hoseok’s cheek with a finger and it was batted away just as quickly.
“No, no,” Hoseok smiled and pinched Taehyung’s cheek. “In fact,” he repositioned his expression into one of nonchalance, “I was rather thinking that he seemed so interested because of a certain someone.”
“What? What do you mean?” Taehyung stilled, the smile fading from his face. It was difficult not to laugh.
“Oh, you know,” Hoseok shrugged. “Like how I share some parts of our conversation with you, I’m sure he does with his friends, a certain Jeongguk maybe?” Taehyung’s eyes grew wild and it seemed as if his eyebrows were about to disappear into his scalp. “And if a certain Jeongguk is interested, perhaps he’s feeding Yoongi questions. If so, is there anything you want me to indirectly ask?”
“Um, is the sky blue?” Taehyung sat up so quickly he head-butted Hoseok in the eye. He didn’t react when Hoseok screamed in pain. Taehyung’s face wore an ecstatic grin, his eyes glistening manically. “I have so many things I want to know! I feel like you talking to Yoongi for the first time! Wait, wait, before I give you questions, can I read what you’ve said about me?”
Hoseok, nursing his eye, grudgingly handed his phone over to Taehyung. “Don’t read past the point after we stop talking about you. And thanks for hitting me in the eye, by the way.”
“No problem,” Taehyung said breathlessly, cradling Hoseok’s phone like it was the new-born child of Christ. “Okay, okay, so... you say, ‘who do you consider to be your closest friends?’ and he says, ‘cute question’ – can you two just make out already? – ‘probably Namjoon and Jeongguk, maybe Jimin whenever he shows up.’ Then he goes, ‘what about you? Let me guess, Taehyung?’ Hey, that’s me! You go, ‘hahaha yeah, and Seokjin too, I don’t know why you thought I had so many friends, I’m a loser hahaha’” (Taehyung scoffed at this) “Ain’t that the truth! Anyway, so then he says, ‘yeah, you are’. Hoseok, I think I’m secretly Yoongi.”
“Ugh,” Hoseok whined, jostling Taehyung. “Stop dissecting our whole conversation! Just read the next part.”
“Fine,” Taehyung complied. “You say, ‘rude, but I can be your loser’ and then a wink emoji. ‘Seok, are you still flirting with him!?”
Hoseok tittered, slinging an arm around Taehyung’s shoulder. “Well, he did invite me to send my whole collection of one-liners, didn’t he?”
Taehyung was apparently too saddened by Hoseok’s attempt at flirting to form a response, so he promptly moved on. “He goes, ‘you’ve had better lines’ and then he says... Oh my god, ‘does Taehyung flirt with his girlfriend as badly as you try with me?’?” Taehyung’s voice broke with how high he had risen his tone. He looked to Hoseok with incredulous eyes. “This isn’t... Min Yoongi wouldn’t write this,” he concluded, his mouth widening into a bright grin.
Hoseok nodded slowly as it dawned on Taehyung. “You’ve seen the light!” He remarked, throwing in a menacing cackle. “Jeongguk likes you- And then it fully registered with Hoseok. “Jeongguk likes you, Tae, oh my god-” He was cut off by Taehyung throwing himself at Hoseok, they both collapsed onto the bed in a pile of limbs and denim.
“You know what I should do?” Hoseok got out eventually after the two had finally climbed down from their high. He detached himself from Taehyung, pushing his hair from his face and reaching for his phone where Yoongi had replied. “I should ask Yoongi if we should all meet up.”
“What?” Taehyung shot up, the smile still shining on his face. “Like, all of us? Me, you, Yoongi and Jeongguk?”
Hoseok nodded, a surge of confidence flooding through him. He was silent as he composed the message before turning his phone around to show Taehyung, tempting him. “Should I do it?”
It was a question that didn’t even need asking. Taehyung nodded enthusiastically, his eyes shining. “Do it, do it, do it.”
He didn’t need any encouragement, Hoseok pressed send. His message was read and after a few agonising minutes he received a reply.
Jung Hoseok: it’s nice talking to u on here but I feel we should do it irl Jung Hoseok: we should meet up with friends! but let’s not make it too crowded Jung Hoseok: if u wanna meet up, I’ll bring Tae u bring Jeongguk?

Min Yoongi: is this a challenge? Min Yoongi: or your indirect way of getting me to flirt with you?
Jung Hoseok: OMFG Jung Hoseok: not intentionally Jung Hoseok: challenge accepted?
Min Yoongi: I’ve never flirted with anyone before so it’ll be tragic Min Yoongi: then again, so are your attempts Min Yoongi: so, yes, challenge accepted Min Yoongi: ;)
Jung Hoseok: that winky face got me all flustered boy
“Hoseok!” Taehyung yelled, nudging him with his toe. “Stop flirting and get to the point, are we meeting or not?”
Hoseok was dragged back into reality and realised that he had diverted himself from the task at hand.
Min Yoongi: there’s more where that came from Min Yoongi: ;P
Jung Hoseok: seriously, stop now its damaging to my health im too flustered Jung Hoseok: anyway as much as id love u to send me another emoji Jung Hoseok: r we on for tomorrow? Jung Hoseok: ;)
Min Yoongi: yeah, Jeongguk will be fine with it Min Yoongi: and im fine with it, but not as fine as you Min Yoongi: ;)

8 UNLIKELY K-DRAMA ROMANCES THAT CAPTURED OUR HEARTS
Love can be unpredictable and sometimes drama characters fall in love with someone they never imagined in their wildest dreams. Unconventional romances are that much more special and alluring as characters overcome barriers and find true love despite their differences. Check out some unlikely love stories cherished by many below!
Tumblr media

It’s Okay to Not Be Okay
Tumblr media
A testy children’s book author with an anti-social disposition plus a kind but weary caregiver doesn’t necessarily sound like a match made in heaven. One character is egotistical and selfish while the other character is solemn and caring. Although Ko Mun-yeong (Seo Yea-ji) and Moon Gang-tae (Kim Soo-hyun) are opposites, they share an understanding of each other through their traumatic childhood experiences. The way they help one another cope with their wounds in It's Okay to Not Be Okay is deeply heartwarming.
The King: Eternal Monarch
Tumblr media
The King: Eternal Monarch features a romance that is out of this world, literally! Detective Jeong Tae-eul (Kim Go-eun) ends up meeting Emperor Lee Gon (Lee Min-ho) from a parallel universe for a love story that defies reality. Despite living in different worlds, the pair don’t give up on finding each other even with the difficulties accompanying parallel universe travel. Beyond the separate world issue, the couple are also quite different in personalities with Jeong Tae-eul being more of a literary thinker while Lee Gon has a scientific mind. Nevertheless, they never give up on each other.
Extracurricular
Tumblr media
At first glance, Extracurricular characters Jisoo (Kim Dong-hee) and Gyuri (Park Ju-hyun) don’t have much in common except for being model students. Jisoo is a poor outsider whereas Gyuri is rich and popular. Their classmates are shocked when Gyuri claims they’re dating. However, their homeroom teacher sees that they have something in common, they both endure burdens without asking for help. They’re both very lonely and struggling with parents who inflict harm instead of nurture. While working on criminal activities together, Jisoo and Gyuri develop a special relationship and come to rely on each other.
Itaewon Class
Tumblr media
Growing up, Jo Yi-seo (Kim Da-mi) was very competitive and showed sociopathic tendencies. She’s an interesting character from Itaewon Class who wishes for the end of the world. While Jo Yi-seo thinks of bad and good as morally gray, underdog Park Sae-ro-yi (Park Seo-jun) has a more black-and-white sense of morality. Park Sae-ro-yi is also considerably warmer and more mature than Jo Yi-seo. The unlikely duo are very different, but ultimately learn from each other and develop feelings in the process. With her high IQ, Yi-seo is able to help Sae-ro-yi turn his business around. In turn, Sae-ro-yi teaches Yi-seo to appreciate people and overcome prejudice.
Crash Landing On You
Tumblr media
A South Korean heiress (Son Ye-jin) and a North Korean soldier (Hyun Bin) just meeting, not to mention falling in love, sounds highly implausible. Lucky for us, that’s exactly what happens in Crash Landing on You! Their love story involves both fate and chance as they crash into each other’s lives. The highly popular drama also features a second unlikely pairing between North Korean department store heiress/aspiring cellist Seo Dan (Seo Ji-hye) and South Korean conman Gu Seung-joon (Kim Jung-hyun). Both relationships are pretty high-stakes with life and death hanging in the balance. You can’t help but get emotionally invested!
My Holo Love
Tumblr media
Most people love technology, but to fall in love with an artificially intelligent hologram? Definitely not an everyday occurrence! In My Holo Love, Han So-yeon (Ko Sung-hee) falls in love with AI hologram Holo (Yoon Hyun-min) and Holo falls in love with her as well. Interestingly enough, Holo is modelled after and created by Go Nan-do who also falls in love with Han So-yeon. The drama features what might be the most unconventional love triangle in the history of K-dramas, but somehow it works as we see the once lonely characters experience love.
Beauty Inside
Tumblr media
Kang Sa-ra (Lee Da-hee) is a cold, sophisticated airline executive and Ryu Eun-ho (Ahn Jae-hyun) is preparing to become a priest in Beauty Inside. You wouldn’t expect their paths to cross, but they do! Both have to deal with their previous plans as they grapple with their sudden attraction to one another. Sa-ra needs to reconsider her engagement and Eun-ho has to think about his planned priesthood.
My Love From The Star
Tumblr media
Could there be a more unlikely romance than one between an alien and a top actress? My Love From the Star is a classic drama that captures the exciting and heart-wrenching aspects of a very unconventional pairing. Cheon Song-yi (Jun Ji-hyun) is a hilariously blunt diva while Do Min-joon (Kim Soo-hyun) is a stoic professor. Furthermore, Do Min-joon is trying to figure out how he can return to his home planet. All of the differences and obstacles make for a truly epic love story.
Having somewhat unrealistic pairings definitely brings up the romance factor a notch. There’s more suspense and intrigue which gets you rooting for the unlikely couples to beat the odds. These unconventional romances prove that what matters most is the ability to connect and love each other despite any differences or barriers. As cliché as it sounds, love truly does conquer all!

Jona Spoils Chicago Typewriter
[The following review liberally spoils the ending a plot details of Chicago Typewriter. I recommend watching the drama before reading.]
Yet another drama that I took my sweet time finishing after it had officially stopped airing, and yet unlike with MoonClouds or Goblin,  I really felt like CT was worth my time. At the very least, an interesting break from the norm, and one that deserves a bit of a closer look.
Tumblr media
Chicago Typewriter is a supernatural reincarnation romance that spans over two timelines. The majority of the drama focuses on Han Se Ju, a novelist in modern-day Seoul, his devoted literary fangirl, Jeon Seol, and a quite literal ghost-writer, Yoo Jin Oh, who has been haunting the titular typewriter for the past 80 years. In their former lives the three were passionate freedom fighters in occupation-era Korea. The hypersensitive, hopelessly self-involved Se Ju as gotten himself a wicked case of writer’s block right at the beginning of a hugely lucrative project. Yoo Jin Oh offers to assist him in finishing his book through supernatural means, but that will mean compromising his principles and passing off someone else’s work as his own. It will also mean drawing closer to Jeon Seol, as the three are pulled further into the web of memories from their past lives, toward a shared fate.
When we were still in the early buzz phase, the first thing I noticed about this drama was the casting, which is fantastic. Im Soo Jung is an actress I’ve only seen twice. Once in the movie Time Renegades and once in the perennially relevant I’m Sorry, I Love You. The idea of a Kim Go Eun-esque advent on television after a career that’s focused largely on movies I’ve historically had a hard time watching through legal means was exciting to me. Add to the fact she would be playing opposite the exquisite Yoo Ah In and rising star Go Kyung Pyo who very recently upgraded in my estimation cute to smoking hot, and I was totally there for this. Plus, the story boasted a novelist entangled in supernatural events and occupation era period elements. All of which is very, very much my speed.
Then I found out who the writer was and had to backpedal a little bit.
CT comes to us from the same writer as Kill Me, Heal Me a melodrama with a psycho-fantasy premise which I wasn’t precisely thrilled with. I don’t think KMHM represents everything wrong with this world or anything like that, but it’s one of those vastly popular dramas within fandom that I had a lot of issues with. From a story and pacing perspective I found it to be quite messy. Adding pacing issues and a writer with an inability to edit her ideas to the all too prevalent tvN bloat is a recipe for disaster. *cough* Goblin *cough*.
While CT does fall into some of the same pitfalls as KMHM, I think the material plays more to the writer’s strengths. Jin Soo Wan is better suited to out and out fantasy with a dash of period romance than psychological dramas. Her flair for the melodramatic felt somehow more appropriate paired with the fantasy premise of CT, and thus while far from perfect it felt more refreshing and frequently less forced than her previous drama.
So now to get down to the nitty-gritty, starting discussing the details of the drama…
The biggest strength that this show has, I believe, is its casting. A good performance and a charismatic lead can cover a multitude of sins, and nowhere is that more apparent than with our leading man, Han Se Ju. Se Ju as a character is at times so insufferable that I think in the hands of anyone less capable than Yoo Ah In, I would have been forced to hate him. But YAI’s intensity, grin, almost whispering line delivery punctuated by frequent freak outs, made the character more appealing and sympathetic than he otherwise would have been. There’s just something about that boy.
Tumblr media
Go Kyung Pyo does smoldering and mysterious very well, as he demonstrated in Jealousy Incarnate, and he’s pulling out a somewhat similar performance here, but to his credit it works very well for his character. Im Soo Jung switches between bright and bubbly to soulful very well, though I can’t help but wish that she had been given a little bit more substantive to do as Jeon Seol. Other than acting as a walking a plot device, occasionally disseminating key information regarding her past life, and being thrust into unlikely situations with Se Ju, there didn’t seem to be a whole lot of reason for her to be involved in the plot.
This criticism does not extend to her 1930s persona. Ryu Soo Hyun is so much more interesting to me than her modern day counterpart that it’s really a shame that the format of the show didn’t allow us to explore her character a little more thoroughly. What we get of her is so intriguing. Her loyalty, her ruthlessness, and her commitment to the cause rivaled that of either of her boys. The drama spent so much time building up the mystery of who Jeon Seol had killed in her past life that I was worried they wouldn’t be able to make the scene as impactful as it needed to be. Boy, was I wrong.  And then her cold-blood rampage at the end of the drama absolutely caught me off guard and gave us a far darker and more poignant ending than I had ever imagined.
And that’s basically where we start running into problems with this drama. The 1930s segments of this show are so much stronger on the whole than the modern day stuff that it really makes you wish the entire drama had been a period piece. Or at the very least there had been a little better balance between the two. The lion’s share of the last two hours of this drama take place in the past, and I don’t think it’s a coincidence that they are two strongest episodes of the show. With the exception of Yoo Jin, all of the characters in the present were weak and unsubstantial compared to their 1930s counterparts. Han Se Ju isn’t a terrible character in my estimation, but he becomes so much diminished when you hold him up to his Scarlet Pimpernel-esque resistance leader, Seo Hwi Young.
Tumblr media
^^YAI somehow managed to upstage himself in his own drama.^^
And it was clear also that the writer didn’t know what she wanted Jeon Seol to be, other than love interest. She couldn’t even settle on one occupation for her (Olympic marksman, delivery girl, veterinarian, editor). The modern day stuff lacked focus and direction.
Another issue is the fact that there are once again too many characters in the drama and not all of them have a clear function in the story. Why is the Italian chef even in this drama? Why did we spend so much time with shaman and her daughter when they have so little impact on the story? Did the writer not think we had enough comedic elements in this drama?
Tumblr media
^^This drama?^^
As for the modern thriller aspects: Why did we both with the copy cat killer/revenge crazed stalker character arcs? Was Tae Min and his dangerously sociopathic behavior not enough? There was a perfectly viable subplot about a sibling rivalry between two writers–the legitimate heir unhinged by jealousy vs. the gifted son of his fathers mistress who will always outshine him–that could have offered more than enough suspense and interest if it had been developed better. Not only that, but Tae Min’s character has a connection to the 1930s setting that those other character I’ve mentioned don’t. That plagiarism plot and family drama should have been the main source of conflict in the modern day, but it often got lost in the shuffle of stray subplots. It’s this everything-and-the-kitchen-sink style of writing that I had problems with in KMHM.
That being said, there’s still a lot here to appreciate here, and I’m not ready to throw out the baby with the bath water. At it’s heart, this drama is about the bond between our main triad, and their love and sacrifice for each other is what holds the story together.
I remember when my mother was watching this, she was far more diligent about watching week to week and finished it before me. When we discussed it afterward she said that she found the ending somewhat confusing in that, “It was hard to tell who was in love with whom.” And I told her that was because the three leads were all in love with each other.
Tumblr media
There are several points at which lip service was paid to a traditional love triangle, but it came across as equivalent of pasting a hasty no-homo over a poly relationship. “This is totally binary, guys, we swear!” I didn’t buy the binary relationships they were peddling, and I don’t think the writer’s heart was in it either. It was everywhere evident in the writing that the only happy ending for these characters was one where all three of them were happy in one place, with no patriotic duty to sacrifice for and nothing forcing them apart.Together as friends and–yes, I do believe–as lovers. A true 0T3.
Their tragic fate in the 1930s and the bitter sweet one in modern day was really sold me on the show. And the way that the leads played it with such warmth and sincerity absolutely struck me to the heart. When they were hurt and broken, I cried with them. And that’s what I think makes this evidently imperfect drama something truly special. There are some really good ideas here and if there had been a little more focus and some paring down of ideas, CT would have made an even bigger splash in the fandom.
I give Chicago Typewriter a strong 7.5/10 along with my recommendation to give it a try. It’s flawed, certainly, but it breaks away from the typical and ending sings. It’s really ambitious, and that alone made it worthy of my attention.

Aqueles Dois São Estranhos

— S/N—!
— Tae-hyung—!
Tae-hyung estende os braços largamente e me abraça. Eu senti muita saudade de seu peito. Então aconchego calmamente o meu rosto nele.
— Jung-kook… vem brincar comigo?
— Arhhhhhhh!!
— Jung-kook, uuugh… … Hm?
— ……

Writer Kim Dae-joo chose ‘Yoonsikdang’ as the most memorable program. Writer Kim Dae-ju said, “The program worked well, but there were too many episodes.” “I built a restaurant set in the field, but it was demolished in a couple of days after filming. I cried. How did the program work. There are so many things to talk about when I meet you.” I remembered.
Writer Kim Ran-ju recalled the episode of ‘Totoga’ in ‘Infinite Challenge’ and recalled, “How long have I been waiting for the HOT reunion. It was the longest project in my life, and I couldn’t imagine that I would do it. The moment I peaked in life” .
After lunch, the two met Shin Won-ho PD, who directed the series ‘Response’ and ‘Sage’. PD Shin Won-ho, who directed the entertainment before tvN transfer, said, “It was a time when I was so tired of the variety, so I twisted the writer Lee Woo-jung and said, ‘I think the first edition will always be ruined.

Our authors have prepared for too long.”
PD Shin Won-ho wasn’t in charge of performing arts from the beginning. PD Shin Won-ho said, “After enrollment, I was in the liberal arts side and asked to go to the dispatch from the performing arts department. I was whispered with PDs ‘Itaewon Class’ and ‘Misty.’ Only Nayoung-seok PD supported the performing arts during the motive. It was different from that. ” “I wanted to,” he confessed, and laughed.
The program I started then was with Yoo Jae-suk’s ‘Kung Kung-ta of Fear’. PD Shin Won-ho said, “I started playing Kung-Kung-Ta, and it was so much fun. People seem to have fun seeing what I made.

Regarding the difference from direct production, “The biggest difference is ‘Umbrella business’ and ‘Salt business’. When I work as a PD, I only have my program. I have many channels and programs. “It’s ahead,” he said.

hi! do you think you can make a part 2 to ‘what a world we live in’ but finish it off with taeju ?
What a world we live in | part two
Summary: after the events of your ex-boyfriend being banished from Dongcheon, you were heartbroken. However, Taeju was there to help you to move on as you were slowly falling in love with him. That all changed when Gangjae broke into the organization.
Warnings: violence, blood & gore.
A/N: since y'all wanted a part two of what a world we live in, here it is. Check out part one here.
Tumblr media
After Gangjae was banished from your father and the organization you had been a wreck. Taeju tried to help you but you knew that he was following your father's orders. You weren't that stupid to know that he cared for you.
Little did you know that he had been in love with you ever since he saw you. His world went down when he got to know that you were dating Gangjae when Mujin was suspicious over your relationship with one of his men.
After some weeks, you let him in and let him take care of you. You knew by his act that he actually cared for you. But your mind couldn't take off by Gangjae. You had loved him and a part of you still think that you love him.
When you and Taeju confessed your feelings to each other, it brought guilt to the both of you. Guilt of that everything was almost happening again and the thought of your father would do the same to Taeju.
You couldn't let it happen so the two of you kept it secret, again for both of your saftey.
But that didn't went well when Gangjae attacked the gym and Taeju knew that you were in danger and Mujin would know.
You ran through the building when you heard slashing and groaning downstairs. You had heard that Gangjae had kept himself busy throughout the years ever since your father had kicked him.
When you ran downstairs, you looked with terror when you saw bodies and blood splattered on the floor. To your horror, you saw Gangjae holding Taeju hostage in his grip. His men held him as his knife was against his neck.
Before you could even think, you made your presence known. ''Let him go, Gangjae,'' You demanded him. He turned around slowly as you stared at him. You tried not to show the fear as you watched him grin towards you.
''Y/n!'' He exclaimed before he let out a laugh and began to approach you. ''How is my favorite girl?'' He asked and approached you. You looekd into his eyes and you could tell he was not the boy you dated a long time ago.
''Or should I say how is your father? Hmm? After he kicked me out, I couldn't stop thinking the way how I should kill him after what he did to me, and to you...'' He trailed off and stroked your cheek slightly.
You could feel him as it sent shivers to your spine. ''Don't touch her,'' Taeju growled and tried to get free. Gangjae let out a laugh and looked at him before he looked at you. You knew he knew.
''I see that you have move on, really, Y/n, him?'' He asked you as he pointed towards Taeju. You looked towards Tajeu as he pleaded you not to do anything stupid.
''I said let him go,'' You growled. Gangjae smirked when he saw the fire in your eyes. ''Fine, I will let him go,'' Gangjare responded with a shrug. You looked at him suspisioucly.
''What's the catch?'' You asked him as he let out a sigh before he smirked and approached you. He cupped your cheek as he let out a grin and met your eyes. ''Tell your father that I said hi,'' He replied as you heard a slashing sound.
You widened your eyes when you saw Taeju was sliced on the stomach by one of his men. He let out a painful groan before they released him. ''Taeju,'' You gasped as he let go of your cheek and watched you ran towards him.
Before Taeju could fall on the floor, you caught him in your arms as you tried to steady him. ''It was nice to meet you again, Y/n!'' You could hear Gangjae call after you before he and his men disappeared out of the gym.
You looked towards Taeju as you could see that he was beaten up badly. ''Taeju, stay with me, please,'' You begged him before you picked up the phone and called your father.

Taeju & reader pls. Romantic genre preferred :)
Forbidden love | Jung Taeju
Summary: Being the daughter of a drug lord had it's up and downs especially when your father was overprotective. But that didn't stop you to date one of his loyal men, Taeju.
A/N: I think I have a thing for forbidden relationship lmaooo. So sorry that this was late nonnie but i hope you enjoyed it.
Warnings: None, ooc jung taeju?? fluff.
Tumblr media
''- Taeju, stop,'' You replied with a giggle when you felt a tickle in your neck. The two of you stood in a corner of the hallway in your father workplace. You were about to visit him but before you could even enter the room, Taeju noticed you and decided greet you.
Ever since you could remember, you had heard about one of his loyal men, Taeju since your father often spoke about him to you. You were intruiged and wanted to meet him and then later on, the two of you were dating behind your father back.
You knew it was wrong considering that he was working with your father and he was very overprotective of you since you were his daughter. You didn't even want to know how his reaction would be if he found out that you and Taeju was dating, his second command.
''I can't, we haven't seen each other for so long,'' You heard him mumble in your neck as his head was buried. You let out a small smile form on your lips as you let out a chuckle towards his clinginess.
''We literally saw each other last night and in the morning, Taeju,'' You responded as he lifted his head and met your eyes. He kissed you on the lips as he dragged your hips closer to his body.
''I know, but I couldn't be there before your father called me,'' He let out a grunt, remembering where a time your father would call him in the middle of the night or when the two of you had plans.
''What was the emergency?'' You asked him with a frown on your face as he gave you a look. ''It wasn't an emergency, according to him, he wanted me to give advice of what he could buy you when it's your birthday,'' He deadpanned.
''My birthday isn't for another months,'' You questioned and looked at him confused. ''But he's your father, he wants to be prepared,'' Taeju replied as you looked at him in thought.
''Or... he knows,'' You told him slowly as he paused for a moment before he shook his head. ''No,'' He told you in denial. ''Think about it?'' You questioned.
''He calls you in the middle of the night or any other day and calls it an emergency when it isn't a really one,'' You explained as you watched him purse his lips into a thin line.
''Maybe he knows, but with what evidence?'' He asked and looked at you. ''I don't know, maybe we should ask him,'' You told him as he looked at you with wide eyes. ''Wait, like really tell him about us? Are you sure that you're ready for that?'' He asked and you nodded.
''Yes, I am ready because I'm tired of hiding in front of my dad and we can never do anything but in secret, I want to have this relationship public,'' You told him as he smiled.
''Alright, let's do it, even if I'm scared to do it,'' He confessed. ''Thank you, let's do this,'' You told him and grabbed his arm as the two of you were walking towards your father's office. To be honest, you were nervous and scared of what your father would think and hope he would take it well.

hello hello! may i request an enemies to lovers with jung tae joo?
Enemies to lovers | Taeju
Summary: You have hated Taeju as long as he arrived inside of Dongcheon. Being the second heir of the oganization next to your brother, he ordered you to work with the man that you disliked. Until when one of you get hurt and both of your feelings are beginning to pile up. A/n: I'm just clearing out my inbox at the moment and i see that ppl are writing their request. Just a reminder: I will not take more request from now on and please do not reqeust under the fics that i've written. Also, I forgot some pieces of the scene where Gangjae attacked the gym? But let's roll with this I have in mind lmao.
Sorry- the ending sucked and I couldn't figure on how to put the ending lmao.
Warnings: Violence, blood & gore.
Tumblr media
Walking through the hallways in Dongcheon, you frowned when you saw one of your men in a hurry. You didn't know what was going on until when you saw Taeju's distressed expression as he gave orders to one of your brother's men.
''What is going on?'' You asked him with concern. He glanced towards you before he answered: ''We need to go, Gangjae is here in the traning rooms,'' He replied as you looked at him with wide eyes and didn't hesitate to follow him.
The two of you walked fast towards the lower part of Dongcheon. Before you enter the higest rank in the organization, you become a part of the traning sessions.
As you stepped in, you could hear the pain and the blood that was splattered all over the floor in te gym. You looked in horror as you saw Gangjae's men attacking the men, killing them with their swords not with mercy.
You froze as you stared with shock before one of his men began to lunge you with the sword. You moved to the side as you turned around and saw Taeju fought the man. You let out a grunt as you tried to avoid being killed.
One of them gripped you, holding you so that you couldn't move. You noticed that another one of them caught Taeju. Everybody stopped fighting when you heard a laugh. ''Well, well, look who we have here,'' You looked up as you saw Gangjae.
He had changed over the past few years and it shocked you that he wasn't the same boy you used to see him. ''Isn't it y/n?'' He replied as he leaned towards you with a grin.
He gripped your chin roughly as he looked at your bruised face. ''Don't touch her,'' You heard Taeju growl across the room. You turned your face as you saw him struggeling to free his grasp from one of Gangjae's men.
''Don't worry, I will not touch her pretty face,'' Gangjae laughed before he walked towards Taeju.
''Should I choose between your arm or leg?'' He asked as you looked at him. You tried to release free and stop him before gangjae could do anything further.
Taeju didn't say anything but stare at him emotionless. ''I won't let you choose because I didn't get a choice,'' He replied and looked at him with a glare. You began to twist your body and punched one of the men that held you.
Taeju saw this an distraciton before he punched Gangjae between his legs as he gripped your wrist and led you outside of the gym. It was in the middle of the night and Taeju had your arm over his shoulder. He could see how hurt you were and he tried not to let go.
''Let me help,'' He offered as you shrugged away. ''I'm fine,'' You protested as you winced. You stumbled on the ground as Taeju caught you from falling. '' No, you're not,'' He argued as you let out sigh.
''I said, I'm fine,'' You growled and tried to walk on your own before you passed out.
-
You opened your eyes and let out a groan. You didn't know where you were and heard distant voices. Your eyes trailed over as you saw Taeju in the room with a phone next to his ear. ''She's fine, don't worry,'' He replied as he turned to look at you.
''She's awake, don't worry, I will take care of her,'' He responded before he hung up. ''Who was that?'' You asked and tried to sit up. You winced towards the pain as he helped you.
''Your brother,'' He answered as you looked at him. ''How are you feeling?'' He asked and sat in front of you.
''Fine, except from the broken ribs,'' You told him as he let out a chuckle. ''You could've gotten hurt,'' He responded as you looked at him as his expression turned into serious. ''Why do you care, anyway?'' You asked him.
''Because I care about you, despite all those fights we used, well, still have,'' He answered. ''Why do you hate me?'' He asked as you let out a scoff. ''Why do you hate me?'' You retorted as he frowned. ''Ever since you've arrived, you've nothing been an asshole,'' You told him. ''It made me a good excuse to hate you,'' You told him honestly as he sighed.
''I was that because I had feelings for you and considering that you were Mujin's sister, I was told to not act, I'm sorry,'' He apologized, remebering all of those hateful things he used to say. He looked up into your eyes as he cupped your cheek.
''Seeing you all bruised and almost killed made me realise how much I love you and I can't lose you,''
''So, do you want to start over?'' He asked as you smiled.
''Let's start over,'' You accepted as he smiled before he leaned into you and placed his lips onto you.

A/n: soo, I hope i wrote him right? I believe that he's not the type of person that doesn't show much affection but anyways, i hope you liked this nonnie.
Anonymous Requested: can i request a romantic jung tae ju x reader??? like the reader is also in dongcheon and gets hurt after a fight.
Tumblr media
''Sit still,''
You winced as you felt the sting in your arm when Taeju tried to clean your wounds from the attack in the gym. Being in Dongcheon as a woman was a hard life considering that almost every men looked at you like you were the prey.
You was lucky when Taju convinced the leader of Dongcheon to let you in and train you and ever since you had lived under their roof as for protection. After your family died, you saw nothing but as seeking for revenge and the killer.
You heard that your father joined one of the most dangerous and popular organization in korea and you didn't hesitate to ask them if you could join them. The journey was hard and it took a lot of effort for you and Taeju to make you the strongest warrior.
That was until when another female had joined. Her name was Jiwoo and unlike the other men, you accepted her as a friend. Both of you was wairy at each other first since the two of you didn't trust her and you had a rough childhood. But it took a moment when you two realize you needed each other.
And here you were, along with Jiwoo, trying to find out the killer for both of your parents death and as well for her father. That all changed when you trained in the gym at night and the men in Dongcheon wanted to kill you, since you were the weak spot.
You let out a grunt when you felt the pain again. ''I said, sit still,'' Taeju's voice echoed through your ears from behind. You turned your head towards him with annoyance. ''It hurts,'' You replied as he met your eyes.
You knew that he was angry by the look in his eyes. ''It wasn't my fault,'' You mumbled quietly as you heard him sigh as he out down the cottonpad down at the tray and stood up.
''Yet, you almost got yourself killed,'' He snapped and stood up. You looked at him as you saw his angry expression. You didn't know why he was so angry at you when it wasn't your fault.
''If Jiwoo wasn't there-''
''You would be dead,'' He finished your sentence.
''Why are you blaming this on me when it's not even my fault?'' You asked him with hurt in your eyes.
''When I asked Mujin if you could join our organization, he told me no,'' He replied and stepped closer. ''It took very much effort to convince him to let you inside and since I let you in, you are my responsibility,''
''And if you got hurt or even killed, all of this will put me to blame,'' He spoke firmly as you stared at him before you let out a scoff.
''So, what? I'm just an object to you?'' You asked him as he stared into your eyes. ''No, you're my student, everything you do is my responsibilty,''
You looked at him as you let out a scoff. You began to walk away when you felt him grab you by your wrist, stopping you.
''Be careful next time, I can't have you killed,''

Hi, I saw you opened your requests, so, could you write something with Taeju, where he has to protect Mujin's daughter, and she one day runs off to go to a party and when he finds out where she went, he goes after her, but getting there he has to fight some guys who were trying to grab her? And he also ends up confessing that he's jealous of her because he likes her? It can be smut or romantic if you like. Thank you very much. ❤️
It's so hard to find My Name fics around here lol.
A little secret
Pairing: Jung Tae-ju x f!Reader
Genre: Fluff
Summary: Living with an overprotective father like Mu-jin can be exhausting. You wanna go a little crazy sneaking out to the party. You don't expect such a reckless decision to lead to confession.
Requested?: Yes
Warnings: None
Tumblr media
-------------------------------------------------
- From today on, you have to keep an eye on her. - Mu-jin said imperturbably, lighting a cigarette.
- What? - you asked incredulously, looking between your father and his right hand called Tae-ju. - I'm an adult! I can take care of myself-
- This is not amenable to discussion. From today Tae-ju makes sure nothing happens and you don't move anywhere outside the school and house without telling me about it.
You watched, still nervous at his words. Why was he doing this to you?
- You can't just lock me up! I can take care of myself!
- It's for your own good.
He said nothing more, breaking eye contact. You scoffed and you looked at the man watching the whole situation. You shook your head and started to leave. You didn't feel like sitting in this place any longer. You knew exactly what your father was like, but you didn't expect him to go this far.
And so a few years have passed. You felt like a prisoner. But appearances are deceptive. Tae-ju was a really nice guy. Even though he always had a mixture of innocence and seriousness on his face when you were close. In time, you started talking to him. By talking, I mean trying to make some kind of contact. He just tried to answer your questions, and besides protecting you, you had the feeling that he was keeping his distance.
You didn't even realize when your cheeks were turning a juicy red in his presence. You liked him. Which didn't change the fact that you didn't intend to waste your youth. You were going to have fun that day. And your father couldn't stop you. Not today.
But Tae-ju had his reasons to keep his distance. He also didn't realize when he became livelier seeing you. When he caught himself staring at you a few times, he began to suspect what was happening. But he couldn't let that happen. You were Mu-jin's daughter. If he had found out that his most trusted man was doing something with his daughter, he would not be pleased. And it could end up with consequences for both of you.
Therefore, he tried to reduce contact to a minimum. How much he would want to hear your laughter, hear you complain about problems or boredom, see how eagerly you talk to him, he has stopped making such contact with you recently. He tried to focus on the task at hand. It hurt. Not only him. You too felt a little hurt as you watched one of the few people who had an interest in you started to pull away from you. This is what made you feel that he was trying to keep you company from the beginning just because he was pleasing to Mu-jin. But it wasn't like that at all. And it hurt him too that he pulls away from you.
Therefore, imagine his reaction when one day he found you neither at Mu-jin's place nor at your house. If he hadn't been more capable, he might not have found you at all. But since he wanted to locate your presence as quickly as possible, he found you some distance from your apartment. But he didn't want to be impulsive. Following you, he reached a small, hidden alley with your steps. There was a small door between the two blocks. Loud pumping music was coming from behind them. Party? He could have expected it.
You were young. He wasn't much older than you. He guessed that the urge to run out of the house for some party had been echoing in your head for some time.
After some time, the red light turned on in his head. Did you have someone? What if something happens to you at this party? It's not even about Mu-jin. He was just worried about you.
Without waiting any longer, he left the car, slowly walking towards the loud gathering. Upon entering, he encountered a severely drunk guy who was supposed to be checking who he was letting into the party, but he was too drunk to stand on his feet. He passed by, ignoring some incomprehensible word under his breath. He was greeted by even louder music and strange looks around. He was used to such looks. His only concern was if everything was alright with you. He has failed to locate you. He decided to stand aside and wait for you to emerge from the crowd.
- Fuck off, pervert! - you growled at the man who was trying hard to convince you to go to his room. This voice alerted Tae-ju, immediately leading him to you. He noticed the guy who was trying to overpower you now, disregarding consent.
You closed your eyes helplessly, wishing you were sitting in your room right now. You heard the man whine in front of you. You opened your eyes, watching him slide to the ground, rubbing his back in pain.
- I think she said no. - said a familiar voice. Too familiar.
- Tae-ju? - You widened your eyes, rubbing your aching wrist.
You noticed that two other men started walking towards him, trying to knock him down by surprise. You were standing quietly watching as he easily kicks one, hitting the other. They both fell to the ground. The first one tried to get up. Tae-ju interrupted him by pushing him to the ground with his foot. His stern gaze went to you. You swallowed hard without taking your eyes off him.
The whole road passed in silence. Tae-ju didn't seem harsh with you in the past. You also never gave him a reason to do so.
- Thank you. - that's the only thing you gulped out quietly. Still, loud enough for him to hear.
You walked in through the door, headed for the bathroom. You washed your face, tired of what happened. You knew Tae-ju just wouldn't let it go. You entered your room, where, surprisingly, he was waiting for you. He stared at the view outside the window.
- Are you okay? - you asked softly.
- Take a seat.
You sat up in bed, resigned.
- What was that? - he asked calmly. But you could feel a hint of nervousness in his voice.
- I just wanted to have a little fun.
- By putting yourself in danger-
- How could I know? - You raised your voice. What could you say to him? You had nothing to defend yourself. - Now Father will kill me. How did he even know I went there?
- Your father had nothing to do with it. He doesn't know you've been there.
- What? Then why you-
- I just wanted to talk to you. - he confessed, sighing deeply.
- Why? You are supposed to protect me, that's all. - You tilted your head, waiting for the course of events.
- That's the problem.
You watched as he moved away from the window and sat down next to you on the bed.
- That was my job. But every time... when you were around-
He paused, looking away. You started to get curious.
- Yeah?
- You know, I followed you... and I thought you had someone.
- Why?
He was looking everywhere but at you. You have never had such a close conversation with Tae-ju before. Even your short little conversations weren't quite as close as this one.
You moved closer to him, leaning against his side.
- You are jealous? About me?
You could see him biting his lip gently, be it embarrassment or shame.
You nudged him gently and nodded, resuming the question.
- I don't know, maybe.
You sighed, turning completely towards him.
- Tae-ju, is this about my father?
He looked at you like burned... and was silent.
- Bloody hell! You can't-
- (y/n), I'm old enough to deal with this. But you know your father, I don't want Mu-jin to stop me from getting near you.
- But-
- If you think I'm afraid, you are wrong. But I don't want to drag you into something that will be difficult for you to get out of.
- Tae-ju, don't talk nonsense. - you assured him bravely. Holy shit, your confidence has flowed through your body smoothly. - I want us to talk honestly.
- Talking honestly, you should be more careful. - he replied more seriously.
- But it was just a party! How was I supposed to know something like this would happen?
He raised an eyebrow, impassive. Okay, you could have guessed.
- Tae-ju please, you know I don't want to stay in this room all my life!
- I know. - he nodded. - But you should be careful anyway, no one knows when an idiot will try to get into your pants.
- Why are you so nervous huh?
- Because I'm worried about you, okay? - he said louder, rubbing his temple. He had an expression on his face as if he had said a few words too much. - This world is really dangerous. And as much as I understand your needs, you have to be more careful.
- I don't have to.
He looked at you with a mixture of surprise and resignation.
- I have you.
You felt his hand on yours. Your heart began to beat faster as anxiety took hold of you immediately. You have never experienced close contact. Sometimes you have talked to some friends about such topics, but you really had no experience in practice. You lowered your eyes to him, waiting for his words. Could it really be like that? Did he stand back and avoid you because he felt something for you? Did he follow you because he was jealous?
- If anything would happen to you... maybe Mu-jin is your father, but it was me who was entrusted with the task of protecting you. It could be my fault.
- That's all? - You shuddered, breaking out of your thoughts. - Am I really just a task for you to complete?
- Could you just stop talking for a minute? - he pulled out, wide awake. You gasped softly, surprised.
- If something happened to you, I wouldn't forgive myself. - he admitted, looking at the window. - And it has long ceased to be just a task.
Heat rushed through your skin as the man tightened his grip on your hand.
- I'm too attached to you, you know? - he mocked himself, surrendering completely. What if you hate him even more now? What if you close before him after he told you this?
You turned his face to your side, placing your hand on his cheek. Fuck it. There is no way back.
You put your warm lips on his, guided by self-confidence. Tae-ju hesitated at first, not sure if he should. But... he had waited so long for this. Long enough.
A soft and romantic kiss. It was a bit lost and spontaneous... but it was wonderful. You knew one of you had to end it. So you pulled away, slowly opening your eyelids. He was looking at you with a similar expression on his face.
- I like you, (y/n).
You kissed him again, no matter what. Maybe in this cold, unpleasant world, Tae-ju will be able to provide you with some light. And your father? He doesn't need to know yet. It will be a little secret.
