A point I want to make now that Juneteenth is over (and this is directed at Americans specifically): it's actually not the cool funny haha you think it is to say you don't know anything about Juneteenth. Like, making posts about how you never taught that in school is fine, I'm not gonna blame you for the American education system failing you (or, I suppose, doing exactly what it intended.) but making posts like "idk what Juneteenth haha, I've heard about it the last couple years but idk. I would look it up but I'm gonna ask here instead:P." Do you hear how goofy you sound. Years???? You heard about it for at least the past three years and haven't bothered to look it up. okay.

Also. People using the Juneteenth tag to talk about anything other than Juneteenth? Have you no shame?

I could look past white Tumblr users being weirdos about rap and hip-hop and r&b, but can you guys at least TRY to act like you care and have the tiniest ounce of respect for black people? It is so so easy to look up a YouTube video about it, that's like. Five minutes. It's not that hard.

Please don't use this holiday to talk about how the Confederate flag is actually a pride flag or how it's messed up black people were freed but you (a white person) still feel stuck because you're hoh. Give us one fucking day.
